Kenny Chesney Announces Big Revival Tour

Kenny Chesney is taking 'The Big Revival' on the road! The singer stopped by 'Good Morning America' on Friday (Oct. 24) to announce that he'll kick off a tour in March.

Chesney has been on a bit of a hiatus from the stage life, but with a hit single in 'American Kids' and a new album that debuted at No. 1, the time is right. The Big Revival Tour will actually kick off on the star's birthday, and he's pumped.

“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate,” he says. “I’ve been ready to get out there for a long time. Now that we’re announced I’m fired up! This new music brings a new energy to the show, and it’s gonna take what we do to a whole other level."

Chesney will kick it up a notch starting March 26 in Nashville, Tennessee. He'll be playing various venues across the country, from stadiums to arenas and amphitheaters. He's also bringing some friends out to play with him, although for now, he's keeping quiet as to who his openers will be.

“We’re going to be mixing up the lineup, too -- different markets will have different acts playing with us," the star shares. "A few will be on  all  the stadium shows, some doing pieces -- but I promise everybody who’s coming out rocks hard, and understands turning a crowd on.”

Chesney is known for his epic opening acts, which in the past have included stars like Keith Urban , Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood . Like with anything Chesney does, his Big Revival Tour will be about his fans.

“This is really about us and the fans ... the fact that every year, so many people make their summer about coming to see us," Chesney says. "I’ve missed that sense of community and that passion for the music. There’s gonna be some stuff from the new record and songs people haven’t heard in a while. There’s gonna be a whole lot of music and some surprises."

Fans will wait a little longer than normal to learn the tour dates and opening acts, but Chesney swears it will be worth the wait.

“Because of the number of artists we’re pulling into this tour, the roll out is a little trickier, but I think it’s going to be worth the wait and the finding out," he dishes. "Rather than locking in one thing, I wanted to make each market the best it could be. People will be fired up when they see who’s playing where. That means, there’s more news to come ... A lot of our favorite cities are on the list, so are some places we’ve never been. Get ready!”

Kenny Chesney: ‘This Year’s Set Is Going to Take Everything to a Whole Other Level’

Kenny Chesney is just a few days away from the opening night for his 2015 The Big Revival Tour , which means that both he and his band are making final preparations for what will certainly be one of the biggest tours of the year.

"I've always said, we’re a lot like a baseball team," Chesney admits. "We’re six months on, six months off ... and a lot of time to get ready. But you know, when it’s all heart and so physically demanding, there’s really no other way to do this."

Chesney has poured his heart and soul, literally, into making this tour come alive. After taking a year off to record The Big Revival , which was released last year, the Tennessee native is especially eager to finally return to his favorite place: the stage.

"Every time, I want people to have the best night of their lives," he explains. "I take that very seriously. I've heard enough stories about people planning their summer around coming to see us, and when you know that, you wanna always give ’em more and better, trying to think what else? But, you know, these songs are the reason people come -- and I don’t ever want to take away from the music."

The "Wild Child" singer also put a lot of thought into which of his more than 50 Top 20 singles to include on the setlist, not to mention the new tracks from The Big Revival .

"When we were talking about what songs to play, a couple of us were imagining how the fans are going to respond to the new stuff -- and everyone was like ‘Oh, yeah,'" Chesney recalls. "Because, I think, as fired up as the crowds have always been, this year’s set is going to take everything to a whole other level. And that’s one thing about the No Shoes Nation -- they come to have the time of their lives -- and the beauty of my band is, they’re determined to make it the best night of the summer."

Chesney says that he owes his career to the fans, which is why this tour especially is so important to him.

“If the fans ever wonder what they mean to us, or what they've helped us build, all they have to do is tune in and listen. It’s all there: the good times, the crazy moments, the things like the Spread the Love Fund that made all of us think, and, above all, some of the very best nights of all of our lives," he says. "I was pretty fired up to get out there already, but thinking about the people we've met, the adventures we've had, well, that takes it to another place."

Chesney will kick off his 2015 The Big Revival Tour with two sold-out shows at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on March 26 and 27. Jason Aldean , Eric Church , Jake Owen , Chase Rice , Brantley Gilbert and Old Dominion are among the artists who will join him throughout the tour, both as opening acts and at joint headlining shows. Kenneth Arnold "Kenny" Chesney is an award winning American country music singer from Powell, Tennessee who released his first album in 1994.

Chesney's beginnings in music are traced to Christmas in 1986 when he was gifted his first guitar and began teaching himself to play. Chesney's musical career took a slight side step as he decided to pursue a degree in advertising at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, where he was a member of the ETSU Bluegrass Program and the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. In 1989, Chesney recorded his first self-released demo album at the Classic Recording Studio in Bristol, Virginia. He managed to sell 1,000 copies while performing on the local scene in Johnson City and used the money from album sales to help buy a new guitar. After graduation, he headed to Nashville and performed at several local clubs. He became the resident performer at The Turf, a honky tonk bar in the city's historic district.

Chesney's first album, In My Wildest Dreams, was released on the independent Capricorn Records label in April 1994 which was a moderate to mediocre release in the US Country charts, however later that year Capricorn Records closed their country department and moved to Atlanta so Chesney's career had a slight false start. His first major chart success came in the form of 'Me And You' which broke the US country top 10 and spawned three hit singles. This was merely the beginning for Kenny, his following releases all managed to sell extremely well, 14 of his 15 releases are certified gold or higher to date. From 1998, when 'She's Got It All' topped the US country charts, Kenny went on to score another sixteen US Country number ones and made substantial chart positioning on the Billboard charts too, with the 2009 single 'Out Last Night' breaking the top twenty.

Chesney's most recent charity work includes working with the V Foundation, founded by North Carolina State Wolfpack basketball coach Jim Valvano to help to find a cure for cancer. He is one of the most consistently successful country performers in the States and has sold over thirty million albums to date.

Live reviews

As usual, our man delivers an amazing performance and at Heinz Field of all places!!!!! I planned our weekend in Pittsburgh around Kenny Chesney as a surprise back in November for Christmas. He was our first date a little over 3 years ago in Raleigh NC and we have seen him every time he's return, including coincidently, our anniversary weekend this year!!! My girlfriend is a very serious serious Steelers weekend so I thought this was a perfect Christmas present for us ♡♡♡ BUT I purchased my tickets through his fans club the morning they went on sale and there was no indication our tickets were had a huge visual blockage to the stage. The large tower for the lighting was directly in front of us. We were section 114 Row B seats 114 and 115. I wish I had been able to afford better seats in general but had I known there was a big tower blocking our view I would have spent a little bit more to avoiding tha . Unfortunately tickets went on sale for me thanksgiving/black Friday and I also had Christmas and Birthday shopping and planning for my 9 year daughter but I had everything planned perfectly but I would have changed something to not be directly behind that tower. Kenny Chesney is my number one on my top 3 list of performers! I have seen him every time he's came to North Carolina the last 8 years and every concert in purchase tickets for at Walnut Creek they always inform me what sections/seats have visual impairments or that aren't under the covered pavilion in case that's an issue. We were able to see him on the screen to the left looking around people but if the screen are the back of the stadium had been on the tower probably would not have bothered us. My girlfriend has a torn MCL and a piece of cartridge broken off in her knee and is awaiting surgery so fighting to see around people sucked. BUT those things were personal issues for us. Kenny Chesney as usual was perfect!!!

I just want to say that last night was freaking amazing! My daughter and I watched an incredible line up of acts that put all other tours to shame (in our opinion) Kenny had so much love pouring from him and we felt all of it. Midand sounded amazing on that stage with their traditional sound, so glad I was there to see their first trip to Gillette's stage. Old Dominion never lets us down, such an awesome group of talented singer/songwriters with great stage presence and chemistry. Love that they came back out to sing Save it for a rainy day with Kenny. Thomas Rhett (Home Team) blew the place up with an acoustic set that filled the entire stadium, that took guts and was fantastic. He sang all his hits, got us all dancing and singing along. I caught up with an old friend Karen Jones You dearly!! Met some new friends and am waking up in Massachusetts with a slight headache but it was well earned and deserved lol If you would like to see my pics and video, I will post more later but some are up on my Facebook page so go on over and enjoy. To those heading to tonight's show, have a blast, make memories & remember to spread the love and donate your shoes for SolesforSouls for free flip flops by Blue Chair Bay Rum

This was Kenny's 16th show at Gillette and our 5 year anniversary as No Shoes Nation, our theme song is now NSNSNP - Thank you Kenny, much love!

The Atlantic Ocean is a huge, huge expanse, but there’s many genres that seem to go down equally well on either side of it; from The Beatles to Nicki Minaj, artists have spent decades and decades now proving that geography can often count for little where taste in music is concerned. One style that never seems to have quite managed that same balance, though, is country, and Kenny Chesney is a fine example of that; in his homeland, he’s a megastar, with a slew of prestigious awards to his name and in excess of thirty million records sold. Over on this side of the pond, though, he’s nothing more than a cult figure. Not that it’s slowed him down, though; in September, he’ll release The Big Revival, his seventeenth record, and continue to tour North America as prodigiously as he has for the past two decades now in support of it. The nearest thing country really has to a modern-day pop star, U.S. audiences can expect to see Chesney and his band run through a set that spans his entire career, with the man himself interacting with the crowd throughout with his trademark cowboy hat firmly in place. As for UK dates, though, it might be best for fans not to hold their breath; Chesney, like so many of his country peers, seldom tours Britain, and frankly doesn’t need to; he’s a bona fide stadium filler back home.

Loved Thomas Rhett Old Dominion and of course Kenny Chesney at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa! Now the bad news... I pre-bought, pre-sale, tickets 6 months ago for $350 X 2 and was bummed to find out the people around us paid half that closer to the show date. Some of them the day of from ticket master. I bought mine through “Live Nation” and they were supposed to be “VIP” but there was nothing “VIP” about the price of the tickets and their location. No special entrance, food or drink included! Only a poster a swag bag a lanyard and a CD. Seats were said to be row M right off the stage but they were in first section far off the stage far side with obstruction from the curtains blocking the other band members. For $700 I feel the seats were NOT worth the price! Next time Raymond James has a concert make certain you know how terrible the seats are there!

Kenny is such a great performer! I saw him at the beginning of last summer when he came with Eli young band, Kacey Musgraves, and Eric church. Being in an outdoor stadium, it provided an amazing sound experience and a wonderful view. He did an amazing job at making a setlist including songs from all of his albums, something that's hard to do with multiple albums like he does! It was upbeat and energetic the entire time. Towards the end of the show he brought out Kacey Musgraves to sing "you and tequila" and also brought out one of our Seahawks players!

Kenny Chesney is an all around american country singer. His songs are exactly what you would expect. What I like the most about him is that his songs are genuine, but still catchy... no shallow songs here! You can always count on him for a solid all American album!

Kasey Musgraves was good. The Eli Young Band was ok... music was too loud and you could barely hear them singing. Eric Church was amazing. First time seeing him and really didnt know what to expect. He put on a great show. Kenny was great again! He sang for over 2 hours! Was disappointed with the encore... he only sang one song, was hoping for a few more as it was one of his final shows before he took another year off. But all in all it was a great show from start to finsh! He played his great repatoir of music that goes from boot kickin to beach sounds to smooth times. His is the consummate performer and obviously likes to please a crowd. Speaking of that i was on the floor about 20 rows back and I cannot remember sitting down for more than a few moments. I would say, everyone appreciated Kenny's performance.

My first stadium concert, easy to get in and out of Met Life Stadium. Great atmosphere, loved seeing the Chesney life-sized poster, the Corona tour bus where you could take pictures and the radio stations represented there.

Sam Hunt and Miranda Lambert were great. It was good to take a break in between all the concerts to stretch and get something to eat.

The background music playing prior to Kenny's performance was wild, crazy and uplifting - really got us psyched up.

Kenny's concert at Met Life on 8/20 was the best concert I have ever been to. It was great singing to all his songs, taking in the more than 50,000 people enjoying his music and watching the videos and Kenny bounce around the stage. I did not want it to end. He was the best. I can't wait until his next stadium concert.

I am sure it was a great show. Unfortunately, I was not able to go because the transmission in my truck broke the day before the show and was not able to find a ride. I am so disappointed and upset for not being able to go. I dont care about loosing the money I paid for the tickets as much as not being able to go. Talk about a heart break when I knew for sure I was not gonna be able to make it. I sure hope he will put on another show near me sometime in the near future, because I will sure pay again to hopefully get to make it. I am sorry I missed your show Kenny.

What could I possibly write, but that Kenny put on another wonderful show. Perfect weather, under a starry sky, at Merriweather Post Pavilion, last night. There is a reason that Kenny has won eight Entertainer Of The Year Awards, he is simply a perfectionist and puts on THE best show I see all summer long. He is here and there and everywhere, working the stage and catwalk unlike anyone else in country music. His songs are fun to sing-a-long with a few thousand No Shoes Nation fans. Kenny ALWAYS delivers a great show!

Kenny Chesney Plots 2022 Stadium Tour

By Jon Freeman

Jon Freeman

Kenny Chesney has firmed up plans for a stadium tour that will kick off next spring. The Here and Now: 2022 Stadium Tour are Chesney’s first live dates to be announced since having to table his 2020 Chillaxification Tour last spring as the Covid-19 pandemic took hold.

The Here and Now trek gets underway April 23rd at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, with many of the locations Chesney had previously announced for the Chillaxification Tour now on his 2022 itinerary. Those include Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium, and Arlington, Texas’ AT&T Stadium. Other cities on the tour, which makes weekly stops through the end of August, include Nashville, Seattle, and Denver. Chesney will wrap things up next year on August 26th and 27th with a two-night stand at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Tickets are on sale now. Previously purchased tickets will be honored for the corresponding 2022 shows, and refunds are available for the next 30 days.

“We’re calling the tour Here And Now 2022, because when we get together, there is  only  the present – and it’s so electric and good, I know I don’t want it to end,” Chesney said in a statement.

Chesney is one of a very small number of country artists gearing up for stadium-level tours. Garth Brooks will launch his in July 2021, with shows booked in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Cincinnati, and Nashville.

by Em Casalena April 22, 2024, 10:03 am

Kenny Chesney has just kicked off his Sun Goes Down Tour and just played a lively set in Tampa, Florida at Raymond James Stadium this past weekend. With a couple of tour dates down, we’ve got a pretty good idea of what fans can expect from the country star’s setlist for this tour. And if you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, we’ll help you score last-minute seats as well.

Videos by American Songwriter

The setlist for Chesney’s Sun Goes Down Tour contains your typical medley of his best hits, but the “I Go Back” singer got a little creative this time around. In addition to the major hits, Chesney included some lesser-known tracks that are perfect for singing along, as well as a couple of covers. The setlist is as follows:

  • “Living in Fast Forward”
  • “Beer in Mexico”
  • “Keg in the Closet”
  • “Here and Now”
  • “Reality”
  • “Til It’s Gone”
  • “Summertime”
  • “Save It for a Rainy Day”
  • “Big Star”
  • “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems”
  • “Somewhere With You”
  • “I Go Back”
  • “Get Along”
  • “Never Wanted Nothing More”
  • “Take Her Home”
  • “When the Sun Goes Down”
  • “Drift Away” with Uncle Kracker (a Mentor Williams cover)
  • “Come Monday” (a Jimmy Buffett cover)
  • “All the Pretty Girls”
  • “Young”
  • “The Good Stuff”
  • “American Kids”
  • “Setting the World on Fire”
  • “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright”
  • “How Forever Feels”

Chesney also came back for an encore performance of “Don’t Happen Twice”.

The next stop on the Kenny Chesney 2024 Tour will be on April 27 in Charlotte, North Carolina at Bank of America Stadium. The tour is expected to close on August 25 in Boston, Massachusetts at Gillette Stadium.

If you want to score last-minute tickets to this hefty North American tour, you’ve got a few different options. To start, you can get your hands on tickets directly from the singer’s website . There are also a ton of tickets available for different tour dates over at Ticketmaster . All of the presale events for this trek have since ended, so everything that is available is for general sale.

If those two avenues don’t work, you can always try Stubhub . We push Stubhub for tours like this because the platform usually has tickets available to high-profile concerts and tours just like this one. Plus, if your tour date is sold out, you might be able to find last-minute tickets on Stubhub after the fact. It’s worth at least taking a look to see what’s available!

Fans reacted during the Kenny Chesney's Big Revival Tour at Gillette Stadium on Aug. 28, 2015. The country star returns to Foxborough for three nights this summer.

Summer concert season returns to Gillette Stadium this year with a stacked lineup of stars.

As the weather heats up, the fan-favorite Bay State venue will be home to some of the hottest music, including the Rolling Stones , who open the season with the band’s “Hackney Diamonds Tour.” Meanwhile P!nk brings her awe-inspiring aerial tricks to Foxborough later this summer and Kenny Chesney returns to delight country fans for three consecutive nights.

Here’s your guide to all the concerts coming to Gillette Stadium in 2024.

Transportation guide

Round-trip, special event train service to concerts at Gillette Stadium will be provided by the MBTA Commuter Rail and Keolis. Schedules for the shows will be announced at mbta.com/destinations/gillette-stadium closer to each show date.

PITTSBURGH — A country music superstar is returning to Pittsburgh for the 12th time this weekend, and officials have announced policies for the events.

Kenny Chesney is performing at Acrisure Stadium on Saturday while on his Sun Goes Down Tour with special guests The Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney and Uncle Kracker. But the concert isn’t the only festivity happening on the North Shore throughout the day.

Officials say in tandem with Chesney’s visit, there will be activities on Art Rooney Avenue starting at noon featuring Blue Chair Rum activities, an interactive Kenny Chesney tour bus, food and more.

Gates open at 4 p.m., with the concert starting at 5 p.m. in the main bowl. Ticketholders with floor need to enter through Gate 6 on Reedsdale Street.

Parking lots on the North Shore will open at 1 p.m. All lots surrounding the stadium will be open, and concert-goers are encouraged to use them — including the Champions Garage. Parking at the Champions Garage can be reserved through the Park Mobile app.

Officials also released other parking tips and recommendations:

  • Concert-goers can park downtown and ride the Light Rail Transit to Acrisure Stadium for free
  • Concert-goers can park at Station Square and ride the Gateway Clipper to the North Shore for $30
  • Most downtown parking garages charge between $6-20 for event-day parking. The price varies by garage. Prices at garages on the North Shore could reach as high as $80

Officials also want concert-goers to know that some roads will be closed for the Arts Festival and Pittsburgh Pride. When traveling to the North Shore, drivers won’t be able to use the 9th Street Bridge, Merchant Street or Fort Duquesne Boulevard between 6th Street and 9th Street.

Fans are encouraged to not bring bags to Acrisure Stadium, as the NFL’s Clear Bag Policy will be in effect for the show. If a bag is needed, stadium officials urge using a clear 1-gallon plastic bag or small handheld clutch.
