The third episode of Peter Kay’s Car Share series two has become a fan favourite.

And the hilarious storyline, which sees John and Kayleigh bunk off work and take a trip to a safari park, has had viewers guessing where it’s filmed.

Some fans thought the fictional Seaview Safari Park might have been filmed at Knowsley Safari Park in Merseyside.

But the safari park scenes were actually filmed much further afield at Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park near Stirling in Scotland.

The episode, which will be screened on Tuesday night, sees John played by Bolton comic Peter Kay and his friend and car share partner Kayleigh, played by Sian Gibson, take a day off with hilarious consequences when they come in contact with a cheeky monkey.

Peter Kay fans have been devouring the second series of Car Share, which is available to view as a box set of all four episodes on BBC iPlayer.

If you've seen episode three, which was screened on BBC1 tonight, you're probably wondering where the Seaview Safari Park is.

The episode saw Peter's character and his 'will they/won't they?' love interest Kayleigh, played by Sian Gibson, bunk off work at the supermarket.

And the hilarious storyline, which saw the pair head for an impromptu day out to a safari park, had viewers guessing where it’s filmed.

Sorry for the spoiler, but they leave the attraction with more than they bargained for, with a monkey coming home with them.

One tweeted: “Can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard!”

And another praised: "Those safari park scenes must enter every future ‘best of’ comedy clip show.”

Some fans thought the fictional Seaview Safari Park might have been filmed at Knowsley Safari Park in Merseyside.

The hit sitcom, which won Best Comedy Show award at 2016 National Television Awards, is mainly filmed in and around nearby Greater Manchester.

However, the safari park scenes were actually filmed much further afield at Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park near Stirling in Scotland last summer.

The north of the border venue is home to lions, elephants, penguins and of course monkeys.

IT'S A WILD LIFE !

Since opening in 1971 the Park has built up a wildlife collection which has consistently charmed and enthralled parents and children alike. A family-owned and family-run business since its inception, Seaview Wildlife Encounter reflects the family's attention to detail and drive for excellence.  The Park is located just outside the village of Seaview on elevated, rolling Parklands that overlook the Park's lower lake and the sea beyond. First-time visitors regularly remark on the unparalleled beauty of the setting, the impact of the open, unspoilt surrounds and the views that stretch out across the Solent.

It's clearly a formula that works.

The Park has won numerous awards. Most recently:

'Best Tourism Experience of the Year 2010'   Beautiful South Awards for Excellence

A quote from the judges : Mike Bedingfield Chief Executive of Tourism South East said: " Our industry's commitment to providing the best possible customer service and exceeding customer expectations is outstanding. The Award Winners have shown that they are best-in-class and we look forward to seeing them on the national stage at the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence next April".

Silver Award 'Best Tourism Experience' 2009 Tourism South East Awards. Quote from the judges - "Seaview Wildlife is a tremendous family-run attraction that has grown inventively over the years. They have a very strong emphasis on customer enjoyment supported by a clear commitment to, and fondness for their animals. This shows in the pleasant and informative staff's interaction with customers and in particular the younger visitors making a day out a very positive experience"

Winners of 'GoWight Tourism and Leisure Award' 2009 - IOW Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards... quote from the judges..." This Wildlife Park offers a full day's experience for all ages to enjoy.

Experienced staff allow and encourage contact with many of the animals and give timed consecutive educational talks and demonstrations throughout the day.  The site is extremely well managed, well laid out, clean and extremely well maintained. Each year sees ongoing investment making this one of the Island's major attractions which is a must for both visitors and residents".

The Park's proudest statistic, however, is that almost half of it's visitors are returning. This compares very favourably with the national average level for repeat visits to tourist attractions of just 13 per cent.

The Park's emphasis on 'hands-on' interaction with tame wildlife, and the daily programme of events, including informative presentations by the Keepers, is one of the main reasons people keep coming back.  This opportunity to get nose-to-nose with happy, well-cared for animals and birds clearly has an amazing effect on visitors. This is not just a place for children - the Park has a therapeutic effect on people of all ages, no-one is immune - it can act as an antidote to the pressures of modern life.

In addition to the interactive animal opportunities and its unique, tranquil setting, the Park offers a well-stocked Gift Shop with an array of gifts to suit all pockets. This year the gift selection is creative and expansive. Visitors are invited to spend time browsing.  Under the same roof there's the Park's infamous Tortoiseshell Bay Cafe - over the past two years the catering department has been awarded the acclaimed  Five Star rating for Food Hygiene . Most of the food (light lunches, snacks and delicious cream teas) are home-baked and home-made. Head chef, Graham, takes great pride in delivering a consistently high standard of good food and fun snacks for the whole family.

But the real stars of the show remain the animals and birds, which have the ability to stimulate fierce loyalty, love and laughter; and are perhaps the source of the feel-good factor which has made this one of the Island's most enduring attractions.

There’s a New Drive-Thru Safari in Washington to Serve Visitors During the Pandemic

The wild drive offers glimpses of elk, mountain goats, caribou, bison, moose and more on an open 435-acre plot of forestland..

seaview safari park

If you're bored of the view from your living room window, there's yet another business promising to give you a more interesting scene from the seat of your car.

The Northwest Trek Wildlife Park in Eatonville, Wash., allows visitors to view bison, moose and elk roaming through acres of forestland. It's one of the latest businesses to adopt the newly revived drive-thru model, offering customers a safer, physically distanced visit to its property—and it's only two and a half hours from Portland.

Related:  From Drive-Thru Strip Clubs to Old-School Drive-Ins, Portlanders Are Finding Relief From Cabin Fever in Their Cars .

Instead of riding in shuttles packed with tourists through the site's free-roaming animal area, customers can now coast through in their own vehicles. The caravans, dubbed "Wild Drive," will be bookended by staffers.

The Northwest-style safari should offer glimpses of herds of Roosevelt elk, sheep with giant curlicue horns, mountain goats, caribou, shaggy bison, giant moose and more. The animals have free rein of the 435-acre plot, and drivers can learn about what they're seeing with a live audio app.

The park is also getting ready to enter birthing season, which means you might even be able to spot adorable baby animals in real life instead of on your social media feed.

The tour launches Wednesday, May 27. Online reservations are required, and tickets cost $70 for Northwest Trek members, $80 for non-members.

Of course, there is a similar drive-thru attraction in Southern Oregon, though the animals tend to be on the more exotic side. Winston's Wildlife Safari , known for its highly successful cheetah breeding program, is also open during the outbreak. The drive to get there from Portland is about 50 miles longer, but ticket prices range from $15.95 to $21.95.

Safari Tents

We've just got back from a stay here and absolutely loved it. It's a lovely small park which is very friendly and the views around the park are stunning. The entire site is very clean and any issues are dealt with quickly by the team (extension cord didn't work nothing serious). The food in the restaurant is fantastic and the papa johns was delivered to our tent and was good quality. the pools are lovely however the music in the indoor pool was way too loud and I didn't feel overly safe looking after my two weak swimmers in there as they couldn't hear my instructions while trying to teach them. We spent a day in the sister site (weymouth bay) on Wednesday and didn't enjoy it at all, completely different atmosphere and we so happy to be back on our site at the end of the day. The safari tents are wonderful, you are provided with everything you could need to cook on or with and each tent has a built in bbq next to it. The only suggestion I'd have for them is maybe a seating area indoors, we used a pile of blankets on the floor but missed my sofa quite badly by Friday. Toilets were lovely and clean and you see cleaners in at least 3 times a day. We are already planning a stay in a couple of years and bringing extended family this time. More

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We want all of our guests to have a great experience here with us so thank you for sharing your experiences with everyone. Seaview is a small family friendly park and does have some stunning views and beautiful local walks so its wonderful to read you enjoyed it. Your comments mean a lot to all of the team here and again thank you for your time. I will make sure everyone here see it! We really do look forward to welcoming you back again in the near future. Just had a fantastic 4 night break at Seaview in Standard caravan with our dog. The caravan was clean on arrival and everything here we could need. The pools are lovely and clean as are the changing areas. The onsite shop sells everything we needed including fresh baked items. The restaurant is the same as all holiday park restaurants, quite expensive and microwaved food, but we expected that! The park is really well kept. My parents were staying on the touring side of the park and had a great location. Their shower blocks were perfectly adequate. There are lots of dog friendly areas and walks. The pebbly beach at Bowleaze Cove is a 15 minute walk away and dogs can go on the beach. Ice creams there were lovely. Signage to the beach was not brilliant but plenty of other people knew where they were going. There are excellent views of the sea from the park. There are also plenty of lovely places to eat nearby. This is a beautiful area of the country and Haven provides a lovely park to see it from Highly recommend the Spice Ship Inn on Preston Road. Weymouth, Portland Bill, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are all close by and easy to get to. .

Hi Sarah B, What a wonderful review - Thank you. It was amazing to read that you had a great time with us. I will make sure I share your review with all of the team here, from our cleaning team, sports and leisure team and our grounds team. It is always great when a guest takes the time to write all about their holiday enjoyment including places locally as well. The team are here to look after all of our guests and be part of creating great family memories so thank you for sharing this with us. We do look forward to welcoming you again in the future. This caravan site is in a lovely place. The views are stunning and the walk to the other site is beautiful, day & night. The caravan was big enough for all six of us, did the job very well. It all seemed very clean, until I turned over my pillow and saw dried blood on the pillow case. The arcade is small with lots of things crammed in and my mum who is in a scooter, struggled to get around. However, the kids loved it. The other thing that let the park down was the breakfast. The first time me and my partner went for breakfast , we waited for an hour to receive our food. This seemed to be a long wait considering there was hardly anyone in with us who was eating. The next time, we went in with everyone from our party which was 12 of us. We again had to wait for our breakfast, this time an hour and a half. By the time our breakfast came out, they started serving the main menu! With 6 young children, you can understand that this is a very long time to wait and they started to get bored. When our food arrived it was cold but at this time we was starving so we didnt want to send it back. We did speak to someone about the wait and the food but was told there wasnt anything they could do. It just let the park down a lot.

  • Sleep Quality

Thank you for your review. I agree with your comments regarding the views here. We are set in a stunning location with some beautiful walks around the local area. I am so sorry about the problem you had with the bed linen, the linen is supplied direct from a supplier and I am so sorry this wasn't picked up when making the bed. I shall certainly share this with the team so it is something they can watch out for. Victoria our Complex Manager was most upset to read about the breakfast and wishes you had asked to speak with her but is so sorry that this affected your holiday enjoyment. I do hope that you may decide to return again in the future so that we can demonstrate our usually high standards With Kind Regards Katie Watson Holiday Experience Manager

Where to start..... We stayed at this awful park 6th-13th August. 3 adults, 3 children 12, 3 & 9months. We normally book through the sun to go to Haven parks and have been to most of their sites. As it was my mum's 70th me & my sister decided to book direct as it was a special occasion so we booked a prestige with decking costing around £1400! (My mum can't travel abroad) So we we're all very excited and looking forward to the holiday. The journey took 9hours instead on 4. We moved 3miles in 2hours as there was a bad accident. We knew we were going to arrive late so contacted the park. We arrived about 6:30pm. There was a man just about to leave but he 'checked us in' if that's what u could call it. He gave us our key and passes and showed us on map where our caravan was. He said "any problems with the caravan call the out of hours number and they'll help you" and that was it! Took total of 3minutes id say! My mum had to ask for the entertainment schedule. We didn't even get an 'enjoy your stay' We got to the caravan '143' first thing we noticed was cigarette ends everywhere! And I mean everywhere!!!! Customer service response to this was grounds men don't work weekends and it would be sorted. They were still all there the day we left! (See attached photos) The so called 'decking' was tiny! Chipped wood with sand all over. A small dirty metal table and chairs! With a view of the camping site! Every other decking on our row was well kept and a lot wider plus had a roof! (See attached photos) We had 3 bedrooms and only 1 bed was made! Blue settee was grey marked with dirt! Needs to be burnt! The high chair we loaned was caked with old food and filthy! Had to call 6 times for this to be changed. States in prestige caravans you get a Bluetooth speaker the lounge when we queried customer service said "some have them and some don't. They keep going missing" You pay for all these extras but don't get them!!!! One really good point was the full size fridge freezer you get! Was very impressed with this as we've only ever had small under counter one. (See attached photos) My mum was in tears! She doesn't know how much we paid but she knew it was a lot. This was supposed to be a special holiday! She wanted to go home. I called out of hours service they were useless just said "we're security and nothing we can do! Go reception in morning." We didn't unpack as we wasn't going to stay in a caravan in that state costing £1400!!!! In the morning I was there first thing as reception opened. I showed lady photos and explained we wasn't going to be staying in the caravan and wanted to be moved. There was nothing available until next day (Monday) and it would be without decking! I obviously asked would the cost of decking be refunded but she didn't know! I suggested if we could be moved to Weymouth Bay the neighbouring park but no as they were full. So basically we couldn't unpack Saturday on arrival or Sunday because of moving Monday. Monday came and we went to look at the new caravan. Once again cigarette ends everywhere (see attached photos) the view out of the lounge main window was of an overgrown hedge. The view could of been nice if the hedge was well kept! But the caravan was a lot smaller and there was no way of a travel cot fitting in double room and i wasn't going to let my 9month old sleep in lounge on her own! So once again I told them caravan wasn't suitable! Only other option was 2bed prestige with decking but wasn't ready until next day!!!! (Tuesday) so of course we didn't bother. The customer service manager (valentina I think her name was) was useless and no help and basically gave us no other option but to stay where we were. So we'd spent 3 days of our week holiday trying to sort our accommodation out!!! Regarding the site it is very very small with far too many caravans crammed in!! The entertainment main area is all in one place including the pool. All clean. Didn't use pool. Outdoor pool looked lovely but didn't use. We used neighbouring park Weymouth bay pools which were lovely. The restaurant is average price but food isn't nice. We waited over a hour for food. I ordered the prawn linguine £11.95 which wasn't linguine it was penne pasta. The pasta was undercooked and prawns over cooked with no flavour - had refund. My 12year old niece waited a hour for her desert to the point where the place was empty and waitresses cleaning all tables. It was about 11pm! She ordered apple crumble and custard and it came out with ice cream. Couldn't be bothered waiting any longer as my 3year old & 9 month old were both sleep in their pushchairs!!! So we had a refund on that too! In regards to entertainment. The 'go live' kids entertainers were brilliant!! They're the only good thing about the park. The main presenter 'sarah' I think her name was is one of the best I've seen in all haven parks! Haven she's a credit to you and is wasted at such a poor park! Chanel & Carly also stood out as the kids loved them and they seem to love what they do which is always nice to see. One evening there was a juggler from Britains Got Talent he was very entertaining. Also a band called 'The Drive' were on one night they were fab!!... Weymouth itself was a beautiful place and will defiantly be visiting again but won't go near this park!!!! The Sealife centre is a must go if you have children! It's the biggest I've been too and can easily spend the whole day there as it has outdoor splash area too. We had no apology! nothing. Will never book direct with haven again and stick to sun holidays. Pay £60-£80 and get better service

Thank you for your review but it was so upsetting to read. I really would like to speak with you regarding your experience here. We always want our guests to go away with great holiday memories and wanting to come back and this really is disappointing for all of the team here. Please could you contact me directly so that I can look into this further. With Kind Regards Katie Watson Holiday Experience Manager [email protected]

I had high hopes for this campsite as it seemed to be one of the more costly haven sites but was left a little disappointed. The caravan we stayed in was a prestige and was really nice inside and had everything as expected. The site itself is quite cluttered with lots of caravans squeezed in quite close together. The entertainment complex was ok but we were disappointed that the "Carvery every Sunday" advertised in the restaurant was actually not every Sunday as when we Went in it was not on that day?! We went to play bingo on the Saturday evening but the showroom was empty with hardly anyone playing which is quite unlike any other campsite we have been too so we decided to not play, surprised haven haven't "linked" their bingo with their other sites yet like park resorts do. There was a pottery area where children can pay to decorate a pot which my niece asked about when we got there, when she finally went to do this on her last day she was told she couldn't do it as we were leaving the next day and the pot needed 9 hours drying time. She left very disappointed especially as this wasn't mentioned when we first asked about it. We did ask if she could do it but come back before we left to collect it but this wasn't allowed. The kids were happy with the amusements and full marks for the costa coffee machine in the spar shop, we do love a coffee. The site is situated near a beach which is great but is a little hard to find when you follow the directions as you have to go through another campsite to find it. Overall I would say it was a ok stay but would probably choose another haven in future as have stayed in nicer ones or choose a park reports as Its cheaper and just as good.

Hi Kelly, Thank you for your review. I am sorry the carvery was not as advertised. Due to the hot weather the popularity of the carvery was so poor the decision was made to concentrate on the remaining menu but we are sorry that this may have affected your holiday enjoyment. It is only be receiving guests feedback that we can always look at improving our service and we thank you for your time. We do hope that we may welcome you back to Weymouth in the future. With Kind Regards Katie Watson Holiday Experience Manager

Three generations of us stayed at Seaview. Nice caravan, clean but very small for a 3 bedroom. Only one toilet with sink and separate shower with sink. We didn't eat in the caravan but if we had there was not enough cutlery etc. Could have done with some fans as was extremely hot inside. All vans extremely close together. This is a small site connected to the much bigger Weymouth Bay. We were out most days and found the facilities at Seaview ample. Loads to do around and about but most is very expensive for families. Parking in Weymouth is expensive and no free parking for disabled. Will go back to Weymouth, not sure we'd stay at Seaview again unless with children. The restaurant was ok, but sticky tables and very noisy. Reception staff excellent.

Thank you for taking your time to complete a review from your recent holiday with us at Sea View. Our accommodation team work 7 days a week and would be more than happy to make sure that you have enough cutlery and appliances to suit your occupancy. It was great to see that you enjoyed so many of our facilities both at Sea View and Weymouth Bay, we are lucky to have two sites so close to each other. Weymouth has a lot to offer with lots to do within the surrounding area. Our reception staff will be over the moon with your feedback. I do hope to welcome you back you may return again in the near future. with Kind Regards Chloe Markin Guest relations
