The trip was unforgettable and very well organized by Zicasso's travel partner. Other than one or two very small issues, which could be improved and are not necessary to mention here, everything was great.

We were very happy with Zicasso and the travel company. There were no hitches. All of the guides, drivers, and hotels were wonderful. My husband came down with bronchitis in Egypt and the hotel immediately got him a doctor. The Egypt travel company continued to monitor his condition throughout the trip.

What a fantastic trip! It was so well organized and planned, we were able to just relax and enjoy our vacation. It was a one-month journey to Africa, visiting Botswana, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. We always felt taken care of. The safari portion of our trip could not have been more perfect. We were able to see the animals from very near on night drives and bush walks, with very few other jeeps to disturb the environment. The private concessions are an amazing way to truly experience the animals. We also explored Cape Town on a number of fantastic private tours. We watched the southern right whales off the coast of Hermanus, tasted some delicious wines in the Winelands, explored charming small towns, tried local cuisine, hiked Table Mountain, and so much more. Our travel team planned the trip to perfection.

The trip of a lifetime. Far exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide was outstanding. His knowledge of animals, birds, plants, and the people was incredible. A wonderful personality. Every day our vehicle was spotless; quite a feat considering all the dust. Each accomedation was unique and different from each other. This was a custom designed safari by the travel agency and was unique and wonderful. We experienced things a normal safari would not.

Our trip to Southern Africa (Botswana and Zimbabwe) was nothing short of amazing! Our travel consultant created a great itinerary and took care of every detail associated with small-craft flights, greetings at airports, etc. The coordination was seamless! We highly recommend staying at the camps within the reserves as this provides a different experience to the national parks. We felt like we were the only ones there. We were deeply touched by the love and warmth of the resort staff, who go out of their way to welcome you and assist with any needs you may have. Our guide was brilliant, his knowledge, experience, and patience incredible! This was our second trip through Zicasso and we highly recommend the company for its interest in helping to make our trip a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We wanted to let you know how much we appreciated all of the local guides. Our guide in Cape Town was wonderfully knowledgeable, kind, and accommodating. Our guides in Victoria Falls were also wonderful. The private game reserve was the perfect choice, with a warm, welcoming crew, lovely accommodations, and knowledgeable professional guides and trackers. And delicious, abundant food. The hotel at Victoria Falls was also lovely, with very friendly, professional staff. Everyone across the board was helpful, accommodating, and respectful of our mom’s need for a little extra help (with the exception of Lufthansa in Frankfurt). We didn't book them through you, but wanted to give you the heads up in case you use them in the future for disabled or mobility-impaired guests. Every single person we encountered in Africa was kind and respectful, and we really appreciated that. Thank you for working with us to create a truly special experience.

If we could give our Zicasso travel partner 10 stars, we would. The entire planning and travel process was incredibly smooth and the trip itinerary exceeded our wildest expectations. From our first call, they clearly paid very close attention to exactly what we wanted in a honeymoon – a bit of relaxation and a whole lot of adventure. They delivered exactly that. They also worked closely with us as we changed our minds a few times about which part of Africa we wanted to go to, providing multiple trip revisions until it was perfect. On the trip itself, the execution was flawless. From the first airport pick-up to the tours and beautiful accommodations, we wouldn't have changed a single thing. We can't recommend them enough and can't wait to work with them again when we plan our next African adventure.

Zicasso's travel partner was great to work with. Having never been on safari, they tailored a trip to our budget and hit it out of the park. When the airline canceled our flight as we were on our way to the airport, I called the emergency number and they got us rebooked within hours. Our itinerary was minimally affected. Once on the ground, the execution of the itinerary was excellent. We were met in Nairobi and we had a laugh as we were ushered through the "Diplomats" line in immigration. For 15 days it was like this. It was so personalized, we sometimes felt like celebrities. I would recommend Zicasso's travel partner to anyone who wants to go to Africa.

Serengeti National Park in Tanzania is one of Africa’s most iconic and diverse ecosystems, renowned for its vast plains, rich wildlife, and annual migration of millions of wildebeests, zebras, and other herbivores. Spanning approximately 14,750 square kilometers, the park is located in northern Tanzania, extending to the Kenyan border, forming a key part of the larger Serengeti ecosystem. It is characterized by its sweeping savannah grasslands, acacia woodlands, and scattered kopjes, which provide habitats for a remarkable array of flora and fauna.
The Serengeti is perhaps best known for the Great Migration, often described as one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth. Each year, around 1.5 million wildebeests, along with hundreds of thousands of zebras and other ungulates, undertake a circular journey spanning over 1,800 miles in search of fresh grazing lands and water. This cyclical movement is dictated by seasonal rainfall patterns, with the animals following the rains in a perpetual quest for sustenance and survival. The migration not only shapes the landscape but also sustains a complex ecosystem, supporting predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, which rely on the abundant prey.
Apart from the migration, the Serengeti boasts an extraordinary diversity of wildlife throughout the year. It is home to the renowned Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros), as well as numerous other species including giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and various antelope species. The park offers exceptional opportunities for wildlife viewing through game drives, hot air balloon safaris, and guided walking tours, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty and drama of Africa’s untamed wilderness. With its breathtaking landscapes and unparalleled wildlife encounters, Serengeti National Park stands as a symbol of conservation success and remains a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and safari-goers alike.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area, located in northern Tanzania, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and rich biodiversity. At its heart lies the Ngorongoro Crater, a geological marvel formed by the collapse of a massive volcano millions of years ago. This crater, with its vast grasslands, acacia forests, and soda lakes, serves as a natural enclosure for a diverse array of wildlife, making it one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations.
Within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, visitors can witness the famed Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhinoceros, and leopard—alongside countless other species, including zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, and cheetahs. The area is also home to the Maasai people, who have inhabited the region for centuries and continue to live alongside the wildlife, practicing traditional pastoralism. Their cultural presence adds a unique dimension to the conservation efforts in the area, as they strive to balance their way of life with the preservation of the environment.
Apart from its wildlife and cultural significance, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area offers spectacular opportunities for ecotourism and outdoor adventure. Visitors can embark on guided safaris, birdwatching expeditions, or hikes along the crater rim, where panoramic views stretch out over the vast plains below. With its combination of natural beauty, ecological importance, and cultural heritage, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area stands as a testament to Tanzania’s commitment to conservation and sustainable tourism.
Kilimanjaro National Park in Tanzania is a breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Site, encompassing the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest peak. Spanning an area of over 1,668 square kilometers, the park is located in northeastern Tanzania, near the border with Kenya. Mount Kilimanjaro, standing at an impressive 5,895 meters above sea level, is a dormant stratovolcano with three distinct volcanic cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. Its majestic snow-capped summit is a prominent feature, often shrouded in clouds, making it an awe-inspiring sight for visitors.
The park is renowned for its diverse ecosystems, ranging from lush rainforests at lower altitudes to alpine meadows and barren landscapes near the summit. This wide range of habitats supports a rich variety of flora and fauna, including unique species such as the Kilimanjaro tree hyrax and the delicate Kilimanjaro violet. The park’s diverse wildlife includes elephants, leopards, buffalo, and a plethora of bird species, making it a paradise for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.
In addition to its natural beauty and biodiversity, Kilimanjaro National Park offers visitors the opportunity to embark on once-in-a-lifetime treks to the summit. The most popular route, the Marangu Route, takes hikers through a scenic landscape of forests and moorlands before reaching the iconic Uhuru Peak. Other routes, such as the Machame and Lemosho routes, provide more challenging and remote experiences, allowing adventurers to immerse themselves fully in the splendor of the mountain. Whether scaling its heights or simply marveling at its grandeur from afar, Kilimanjaro National Park offers an unforgettable experience for all who visit.
Tarangire National Park, nestled in northern Tanzania, is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife, making it a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and safari lovers alike. Spanning over 2,850 square kilometers, the park is named after the Tarangire River, which flows through its boundaries, providing a vital water source during the dry season. This unique feature attracts an abundance of wildlife, especially from June to November when large herds migrate to the park in search of water, offering visitors unparalleled opportunities for game viewing.
One of the park’s most iconic sights is its impressive baobab trees, which dot the savannah landscape, creating a picturesque setting for wildlife photography and exploration. These ancient trees, some of which are over a thousand years old, stand as silent witnesses to the passage of time in this pristine wilderness. Additionally, Tarangire National Park is home to a rich variety of wildlife, including large elephant herds, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and numerous predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Bird enthusiasts will also be delighted by the park’s diverse avian population, with over 550 species recorded within its borders, making it a paradise for birdwatching enthusiasts.
Beyond its abundant wildlife and scenic beauty, Tarangire National Park offers visitors a range of activities to immerse themselves in the African wilderness. From guided game drives and walking safaris to cultural interactions with the local Maasai communities, there’s something for everyone to experience and enjoy. Whether it’s witnessing the breathtaking sunset over the vast plains, listening to the symphony of sounds echoing through the bush, or simply marveling at the raw beauty of nature, Tarangire National Park promises an unforgettable adventure for all who venture into its midst.
Arusha National Park, nestled in the northern region of Tanzania, offers a compact yet diverse wilderness experience. Renowned for its stunning landscapes, the park encompasses a variety of ecosystems, from lush montane forests to open savannah plains and imposing volcanic peaks. At its heart lies Mount Meru, the park’s centerpiece and Tanzania’s second-highest mountain, offering exhilarating trekking opportunities for adventurous visitors. The diverse habitats support a rich array of wildlife, including iconic African species such as giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and various antelope species.
One of the park’s unique features is the Ngurdoto Crater, a magnificent volcanic caldera dotted with verdant vegetation and inhabited by a range of wildlife. Visitors can explore the crater’s rim on foot or embark on guided game drives to witness the resident animals in their natural habitat. Additionally, Arusha National Park is a haven for birdwatchers, boasting over 400 avian species, including vibrant flamingos, majestic eagles, and colorful turacos. The Momella Lakes, scattered across the park, provide a picturesque backdrop for birdwatching and leisurely picnics amidst the tranquil scenery.
Beyond its natural splendor, Arusha National Park holds cultural significance as well, with the opportunity to interact with the indigenous Maasai community and gain insight into their traditional way of life. Visitors can engage in cultural tours, visit local villages, and partake in authentic cultural activities such as traditional dances and handicraft demonstrations. Whether trekking through the rugged landscapes, embarking on thrilling safari adventures, or immersing oneself in the rich cultural heritage, Arusha National Park offers a captivating experience that showcases the beauty and diversity of Tanzania’s natural and cultural heritage.
Mikumi National Park, nestled in southern Tanzania, is one of the country’s largest and most accessible wildlife reserves. Spanning over 3,230 square kilometers, it forms a crucial part of the larger ecosystem that includes the Selous Game Reserve, Africa’s largest protected area. Its proximity to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s largest city, makes it a popular safari destination for both locals and tourists alike.
The park’s landscape is characterized by vast grassy plains, dotted with acacia trees and bordered by the Uluguru Mountains to the northeast. The Mkata River flows through the park, attracting a diverse array of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and buffalo. Mikumi is particularly renowned for its large population of lions, providing visitors with excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, especially during the dry season when animals congregate around water sources.
For visitors seeking an authentic safari experience without the crowds often found in more famous parks like the Serengeti, Mikumi offers an ideal alternative. Its network of well-maintained roads allows for easy exploration, whether self-driving or with a guided tour. Additionally, the park offers various accommodation options, from campsites to luxury lodges, catering to different budgets and preferences. With its rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes, Mikumi National Park continues to enchant and captivate visitors, providing unforgettable wildlife encounters in the heart of Tanzania.
Zanzibar Island, located off the coast of Tanzania in East Africa, is renowned for its stunning beaches, rich history, and vibrant culture. It’s often referred to as the “Spice Island” due to its historic role as a major trading center for spices like cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon. The island boasts a unique blend of African, Arab, Indian, and European influences, evident in its architecture, cuisine, and traditions. Visitors to Zanzibar can explore its labyrinthine stone town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where narrow streets are lined with intricately carved doors and bustling markets offer an array of exotic goods.
While Zanzibar is celebrated for its coastal beauty, it also offers incredible opportunities for safari adventures. Tanzania is home to some of Africa’s most iconic national parks and game reserves, including the world-famous Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Many tour operators offer combined packages that include both a safari on the mainland and beach time on Zanzibar Island, providing visitors with a comprehensive East African experience. Safaris in Tanzania offer the chance to witness the breathtaking spectacle of the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and other herbivores traverse the Serengeti plains in search of fresh grazing grounds.
In addition to terrestrial safaris, Zanzibar also offers unique opportunities for marine exploration. The island’s crystal-clear waters are ideal for snorkeling, diving, and dolphin-watching excursions. Visitors can swim alongside vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life or embark on boat trips to secluded sandbanks and remote islands. With its enchanting blend of cultural heritage, natural beauty, and thrilling wildlife encounters, Zanzibar Island remains a top destination for travelers seeking an unforgettable African adventure.
Gombe Stream National Park, nestled along the shores of Lake Tanganyika in western Tanzania, is renowned as the site of Jane Goodall’s groundbreaking chimpanzee research. Established in 1968, this small but biodiverse park covers an area of just 52 square kilometers, yet it holds significant ecological importance. The lush tropical forest of Gombe provides a haven for a variety of wildlife species, but it is best known for its population of habituated chimpanzees.
The park’s fame stems from the pioneering work of primatologist Jane Goodall, who began her study of wild chimpanzees in Gombe in the 1960s. Goodall’s research revolutionized our understanding of these fascinating creatures, revealing their complex social structures, tool-making abilities, and capacity for emotions. Today, visitors to Gombe Stream National Park have the rare opportunity to observe chimpanzees in their natural habitat, guided by experienced park rangers who facilitate responsible and sustainable wildlife viewing experiences.
Beyond chimpanzees, Gombe Stream National Park is home to a diverse array of flora and fauna. Its forested slopes teem with other primates such as olive baboons, red colobus monkeys, and vervet monkeys. The park also boasts over 200 bird species, including the colorful palm-nut vulture and African fish eagle, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. Visitors can explore the park’s network of trails, winding through dense forest and along the lake’s edge, offering glimpses of wildlife and breathtaking views of Lake Tanganyika. With its rich biodiversity and iconic chimpanzee population, Gombe Stream National Park continues to captivate and inspire nature lovers from around the world.

Some of the success stories
Must Visit Sites Tanzania safaris present you with exclusive destinations, from the wilderness of Tanzanian great plains of Serengeti and the home of Elephants Tarangire but one of the wonders of this world, , The Ngorongoro Crater to cultural heritage that has never changed for centuries and the most calming serene sandy beaches of Zanzibar.
Tanzania the Heart of Serengeti Picture the scene. The group of lionesses is setting an ambush in the dusk light, hiding calmly in the savannah. Another two raid a buffalo herd, tempting them into hostile, frightened grunts. It’s tense drama in the African savannah. They’ve been up to this fearful drama for 30 minutes now. Clouds of dust accompany the buffalo herds as they charge. The three lionesses retreat, before regrouping and harassing once more. The commotion repeats itself here and there.Tanzania is home to the land of the endless plains - The Great Serengeti
