The Cinematic Orchestra is a British electronic nu-jazz collective from London, England. Formed of Jason Swinscoe, Phil France, Luke Flowers, Tom Chant, Nick Ramm and Stuart McCallum the group came into being in 1999.
The Cinematic Orchestra are known for mixing their live, improvisational recordings in with their polished production such that their fans are always questioning which elements are improvised genius and which are meticulously planned.
The band first came into being when founding member Jason Swinscoe was asked to live-score the Soviet classic film “Man With a Movie Camera” with his band Crabladder. The band that worked on the project enjoyed the live and improvisational nature of this experience so much that they formed The Cinematic Orchestra and ended up touring with the work and even releasing it as an album.
The Cinematic Orchestra has released three albums: 1999’s “Motion”, 2002’s “Every Day” and 2007’s “Ma Fleur”. While the albums failed to chart in the UK the group’s work is well known due to the many opportunities the group has had to write music or score for television shows and movies. The group recorded the soundtrack to the Disney film “The Crimson Wing: Mystery of the Flamingos” and they were also invited to score a collection of avant-garde films what were shown at the Barbican Centre in London. In addition to this, the group’s work has appeared on numerous television shows including “One Tree Hill”, “Ugly Betty”, “Top Gear” and “Hollyoaks” amongst others.
Live reviews
Being signed to an independent label really has done wonders for TCO. Their original electronic jazz that seems to transcend time and space encapsulates the audience in a way that a mainstream manufactured label would never allow, maintaining the authenticity of the groups' origins.
Watching the artists perform live, brings a whole new sense to their music. Whilst on a recording, you are able to appreciate the skill, competency, and creativity of the tracks, seeing a live performance is really eye opening to the sheer talent of the group. Watching one man handle three keyboards at once with such precision is simply mind blowing to experience.
They worked through their back catalogue, playing their more famous tracks that have been played on numerous adverts, to which everyone was bobbing along appreciatively. The newer tracks, however, seemed to initiate a tranquility throughout the stadium. As the gig was seated, the entire audience seemed to raise a little higher in their chairs, engaged and enthralled in the performance.
An absolutely wonderful band to watch live, you will gain a whole new level of appreciation for these guys, can't wait to see them again.

The Cinematic Orchestra, like a tin of ronseal paint, it does exactly what it says on the label. The band creates cinematic, spanning nu-jazz sounds supported by a huge orchestra. Headed up by group founder Jason Swinscoe, the band has been touring since the late 90s and despite several lineup changes, the sound has remained unaltered.
The setup is classic yet the music is often experimental and there is a sense of unpredictability about the shows. The music created is chilling and really stop each audience member in their tracks as you are entrapped in the band's cinematic world. Opener 'Dream Work' 'Outer Space' and 'Lapis' all seem to merge effortlessly into one and other as the luscious percussion and string notes echo around the venue.
The crowd is captivated and willing to offer standing ovation for each track yet you feel you would be disrupting the band's personal zone that they each appear so transfixed within. Therefore as the final heavenly tones of 'All That You Give' fade the audience compensate for a reserved nature and gift the performers with a rapturous applause as the whole venue is on its feet.
Great show by a great group! :)
At last I could see them in concert which is a thing I had been waiting for forever.
A good balance between "old" (and so good!) classics and titles from the last album, which is great by the way.
The concert hall was quite small, which enhanced the intimate ambiance of the show, so that's a really good thing as it was a really nice place.
The only thing I would notice as a minus from my experience is that they pushed the sound level too high which revealed the limitations of their sound system, that gave me some ringing in the ears for a few hours after the show.
Given the size of the stage they could have easily lowered the sound by 10% and we still would have had enough sound to hear everything, without the saturation and distortion we had during some high energy moments of the show.
Other than that I really enjoyed the show and will go again listen to this great group as soon as they come back in the area! :)
A little disappointing... I've seen the Cinematic Orchestra four or five times now and it's always had something special about it. This time round it was billed as "a special event" but it lacked that magic that I've seen from them so many times before. Songs seemed to fizzle out in to extended meandering outros, solos lacked direction, vocals lacked passion. When I saw them at Hammersmith a year ago, it was so good that at one point I was reduced to tears. There was no chance of that this time around. Added to that, the Apollo was FAR too full. I don't know what the capacity is there, but something needs to be re-thought because it was massively overcrowded - I saw one person having to be helped out mid-way through the gig, and the entire experience was like being on the rush hour tube. I'm sure I'll buy tickets to see the cinematics again when they play next, but I'll do so with some hesitation
As far as I know, they haven't played here for 12 years. I'm surprised the Regency wasn't sold out, but I got to enjoy them more with less hassle. The band opened with a song from their newest release and quickly moved into an all-time favorite 'Man with a movie camera'. They are all very good musicians and singers and put on a great performance without antics. The lighting technician also did excellent work by casting shadows at important moments. J Swinscoe introduced all the players at the end and they all took a final bow, which was pleasantly unusual for bands these days.
I will not reccommend The Regency Ballroom as the prices for drinks are high, as anywhere, but they measure the quantity to the smallest amount possible. (Must be corporate owned)
The sound quality made listening to the music like listening to a reversing bin lorry filled with dog toys. On top of that, the balcony at the venue was like a Tokyo crossroad in rush hour. They sold way more tickets than they have seats, so we were stood at the back, near the bar, listening to music that sounds like it's being shouted through a motorola held near a megaphone, looking at the backs of the heads of other disappointed people. I drank a blue WKD out of sheer boredom, and in the vain hope my pancreas would fail and I'd be allowed to leave. In the end my wife and I agreed we should just go home 30 minutes into their set. We weren't the only ones.
Well what a stupendous concert that was. Shifting between gentle moody vocal pieces and driving electro-jazz, plus other musical styles in between, the Cinematic Orchestra gave a master class in mind blowing genre hopping.
Mixing some of the more known tracks with examples of recent pieces meant familiarity was blended with discovery as the carefully crafted songs were executed with top musicianship. Such wonderful musical landscapes, growing and shifting, some simple, some more complex, with chances for each musician to shine in a drum solo, a sax piece or on the violin .
I absolutely loved it! Thanks
A truly inspiring display of talent and beautiful music.
The cinematic orchestra's performance was one of new and old tracks each delivered with a captivating charm in a way only they know how,a particular highlight for me was Luke flowers effortless ability to hold it all together with some of the best drum chops you will ever hear!!
The sound in the Eventium Apollo was absolutely spot on making all the vocal performances rich and clear.
The only negative about the evening was the fact it finished!!! *****
The supporting band had way to much base going on , it drowned out the female singer voice , and near burst my ear drums in the process , the Cinamatic orchestra although very loud , had less base , and a better set up completely , after standing up for 4 hours , I was in need of a sit down , I think the new tracks sounded good and all the singers were top notch , I think their new album will be jazz orientated by the sounds , who knows , a top band but I was ready for home and a rest afterwards
Beautiful music, of course, but the sound was really muddy, and it's really not the right environment to enjoy such complex sound- people chatting constantly and drunken messing about ruins the atmosphere. You'd be better off getting a good soundsystem or headphones and turning it up loud at home TBH. Save your money, buy their albums, or go see them in a proper classical concert hall where you can sit down and people respect the music.

The Cinematic Orchestra
It’s been twelve years since The Cinematic Orchestra released a studio album. At the time, in 2007, “Ma Fleur” was recognized for its bold departure from the group’s sonic traditions; in the years since, it’s been continuously celebrated, with tracks like ‘To Build A Home’ reaching huge audiences, spilling out of televisions, cinemas and radios long after its release. They didn’t disappear, the band have performed to larger and larger audiences and sold out the likes of London's Royal Albert Hall, Philharmonie de Paris, Rome’s Auditorium Park Della and the Sydney Opera House. Coachella, Glastonbury, Fuji Rock, Montreux and Sonar have all played host to the band’s much loved live performances. They have also appeared at the Directors Guild Lifetime Achievement Awards for Stanley Kubrick and New York’s Summerstage with the legendary Mahavishnu Orchestra with John McLaughlin. They curated a series of events at London’s prestigious Barbican Centre featuring commissions from the prodigiously talented Austin Peralta (RIP) and seen the likes of Dorian Concept, Thundercat, Moses Sumney and Gilles Peterson support them on stage over the years. They’re are back with a definitive new album that explores a timeless question of vital importance in 2019 - what to believe? The question of belief is one that has long simmered in the minds of Swinscoe and Smith. This album is a meditation on belief: an attempt to examine the shaky foundations which underpin it, while also emphasising its importance to our lives. “The prerequisite of everything in life is belief both good and bad” Smith says. “so what should we believe in...or what can we believe in and also importantly why do we believe in something "

Films in Concert: Five Cinematic and Musical Masterpieces
Grab a front row seat and get ready to immerse yourself in cinematic and musical brilliance....
There is no experience like hearing the anticipated opening notes of a film score, live with a full orchestra, whilst viewing the movie in a world renowned music venue.
Here at B:Music we don't want you to have to choose between being gripped by award winning films and experiencing the magic of hearing the scores live. Our programme of films shown with live orchestras brings you the wonder of both. From chilling tales, to festive romcoms, and ones for all the family, we have something for everyone.
Drumroll please...
Ground-breaking and Award Winning: The Joker
Experience Todd Phillips’ highly acclaimed film accompanied by a live orchestra performing Guðnadóttir’s award winning score.
Central to the emotional journey Joaquin Phoenix’s character Arthur Fleck takes throughout the movie is Guðnadóttir’s beautifully haunting, Golden Globe and BAFTA award-winning score. The fusion of looming industrial soundscapes with raw, emotive string-led melodies led by a lone cello creates a melancholic shroud, pinpricked with moments of hope, which unfolds gradually to become a fever pitch of disquieting tension.
Forever alone in a crowd, failed comedian Arthur Fleck seeks connection as he walks the streets of Gotham City. Arthur wears two masks: the one he paints for his day job as a clown, and the guise he projects in a futile attempt to feel like he is part of the world around him. Isolated, bullied and disregarded by society, Fleck begins a slow descent into madness as he transforms into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker.
This extraordinary music will be brought to life by a full orchestra to create a vivid, visceral and entirely new Joker viewing experience. Performed live, Guðnadóttir’s inimitable score illuminates further the emotional weight, texture and atmosphere of Phoenix’s captivating portrayal.

May the force be with you: Star Wars, Return of the Jedi
Following the huge success of The Empire Strikes Back tour throughout the UK earlier this year, the iconic climactic sixth episode of the Star Wars saga, Return Of The Jedi , will be presented live in concert across the UK for the first time with a live symphony orchestra performing the iconic score of Oscar winner, John Williams , along with the film shown in HD on a huge screen. The score was nominated for Best original Score at the 56th Academy Awards and was originally recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at the Abbey Road Studios
Return of the Jedi (1983) sees Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia and co. joined by Yoda and the Ewoks in an adventure across the galaxy as Darth Vader prepares to unleash the final blow to the Rebel Alliance.
Since the release of the first movie nearly forty years ago, the Star Wars saga has had a seismic impact on both cinema and culture, inspiring audiences around the world with its mythic storytelling, captivating characters, ground-breaking special effects and iconic music scores.
Star Wars, Return of the Jedi: Film with Live Orchestra
The festive classic: love actually.
The seasonal romcom that has become a revelation and synonymous for so many with the festive period, will return to Symphony Hall, a B:Music venue with a full orchestra performing its soundtrack live to picture, in what is becoming an annual highlight of the holiday calendar.
Directed by Richard Curtis and originally released in cinemas in 2003, Love Actually tells ten intertwined stories that examine the complexities of the one emotion that connects us all: love. The film features an all-star ensemble cast, including Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Laura Linney, Bill Nighy, Martine McCutcheon, Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson, Keira Knightley Rowan Atkinson, Martin Freeman , and many more. A full, live orchestra will perform Craig Armstrong’s evocative score at these shows, with the film being projected onto a huge screen. Armstrong is one of the UK’s most recognised film composers, with his work being awarded a BAFTA for his Achievement in Film Music.

A Famous Tale with a Famous Bunch: The Muppet Christmas Carol
The Muppets perform the classic Charles Dickens holiday tale, with Kermit the Frog playing Bob Cratchit, the put-upon clerk of stingy Ebenezer Scrooge. Gonzo, as Dickens, narrates the story with the help of Rizzo the Rat. The film also features Miss Piggy as Emily Cratchit, Gonzo as the narrator Charles Dickens, Fozzie Bear as Fozziwig, and Robin the Frog as Tiny Tim. Scrooge receives visits from spirits of three Christmases: past, present and future. They show him the error of his self-serving ways, but the miserable old man seems to be past any hope of redemption and happiness.
The concert will be performed live by The Novello Orchestra and lead by David Mahoney: Conductor and Musical Director of the orchestra. The Novello Orchestra provides a stylish, sophisticated take on well known musical show-stoppers as well as more contemporary repertoire. The orchestra has become one of the world's leading film music ensembles, performing a series of Film with Live Orchestra theatre as well as concert hall and arena tours across the UK.
The Muppet Christmas Carol: Film with Live Orchestra
To infinity and beyond: toy story.
Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story will be live in concert for the first time in the UK at Symphony Hall, a B:Music venue in February 2022. The show will feature a screening of the ground-breaking complete film with Oscar and Grammy winning composer Randy Newman’s musical score performed live to the film by the Novello Orchestra, conducted by David Mahoney . The Toy Story films are beloved worldwide for their compelling characters, extraordinary storytelling, stunning visuals and the music of Randy Newman. The composer and songwriter is behind signature songs including You’ve Got a Friend in Me, Strange Things and I Will Go Sailing No More.
Ever wonder what toys do when people aren't around? Toy Story answers that question with a fantastic fun-filled journey, viewed mostly through the eyes of two rival toys – Woody, the lanky, likable cowboy, and Buzz Lightyear, the fearless space ranger. Led by Woody, Andy's toys live happily in his room until Andy's birthday brings Buzz Lightyear onto the scene. Afraid of losing his place in Andy's heart, Woody plots against Buzz.

A few years ago, I got the chance to watch Star Wars: A New Hope at the Royal Albert Hall in London, with the film’s soundtrack played by a live orchestra accompanying the film. I then go to do it again a year later, for The Empire Strikes Back, and then... and then, Covid hit, and it seemed I’d be waiting a lot longer for the Return of the Jedi than I had anticipated. However, finally, last September I got to complete the original trilogy in full orchestral style. As I reported a few years ago, it’s an enjoyable, alternative way to watch a favorite film and I highly recommend it if you get the opportunity.
While listening to a film with a live orchestra now seems like an event during the heyday of silent film live accompaniment was common such as the UK premiere of Fritz Lang’s Die Nibelungen at Royal Albert Hall in 1924. The first film in the series was Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in 2009, while the fastest-selling event was Jurassic Park in 2016, with four performances (almost 20,000 tickets) selling out in 24 hours.
While watching Return of the Jedi from my seat towards the back of the hall I could see a mixing desk and some people working at it. What were they doing, I wondered? Were they in charge of the super laser, perhaps?
The Royal Albert Hall is an amazing venue for watching films accompanied by a live orchestra and ... [+] contains 465 individual speakers - one of the largest speaker installs in the world.
To find out, what they really did I later arranged to talk to Craig Lawrence, the video & projects director for SFL, the AV production company that runs the technical side of things for the Films in Concert series at the Royal Albert Hall.
When you get to Royal Albert Hall for one of these events, you’ll notice the large cinema screen above the orchestra pit and the first question I asked Lawrence was what the projector used was.

Best covid-19 travel insurance plans.
Picture perfect
Firing at the screen is a fully armed and operational Barco UDM-4K22; a 3-chip DLP laser-based projector, outputting 21,000 lumens at the screen. However, for the film series, there are not one, but two projectors operating simultaneously. This is done primarily to double the light output, but also to act as a backup in case rebels infiltrate and take one out, so the image can continue to fire without any interruption of service, which makes sense when you have over 5,000 people watching a film at one time.
While the projector is virtually cinema-grade, and the image quality is essentially the same as you be seen in a cinema, the content is not technically a standard cinema digital cinema package (DCP), as these are encrypted and would not allow what is needed to be done for an event of this type, such as have a second stream with a time code overlaid fed to a small screen for the conductor to be able to keep track of where they are in the film.
As the audience is spread around a wider area than is typically found in a cinema, which can be optically light controlled, the film is projected onto a screen with a gain of 1.0 to make it brighter for the more dispersed audience.
Speakers galore
When it comes to audio, there is a lot to consider. The Royal Albert Hall’s audio system was revamped in 2019 and features 465 separate speakers from German specialists D&B AudioTechnik. At the time, it was the largest speaker install in the world – as in, the most speakers in the same room than anywhere else. So, the next time the wife complains your home cinema system is too complex feel free to point this out. For film shows the configuration is changed so there is a left/center/right configuration behind the screen, just as there would be in a cinema, with the center speaker featuring most of the dialogue to fix it to the screen.
The audio mix for the film from the non-standard DCP movie package is provided as a collection of audio stems – for the dialogue, sound effects, and any synthesized music. The live orchestral soundtrack is not present, of course, as there’s a live orchestra in front of you providing that part, which presumably is why you are there.
Live sound design
It turns out then, that the controller isn’t in charge of the space lasers but is rather an audio engineer whose job it is to mix the film live. He has the challenging task of balancing the sound between the various stems – he has to blend the audio to ensure that each part of the mix doesn’t drown out the other – and that the orchestra is so loud that it downs out the film itself. The conductor also gets a unique audio mix with a click track to keep them in time.
If you’re seated in a box at the Royal Albert Hall, you essentially can enjoy a live mixed pseudo-surround-sound experience. Inside each box, there are three speakers at the front providing stereo and dialogue, and there are two speakers behind for rear effects too. For the rest of the audience, speakers cover each area and there are speakers around the perimeter, so they get some rear-effects love too.
The orchestra lit up at Royal Albert Hall as part of the Films in Concert series The mixing desk is ... [+] visible at the bottom of the picture.
The other person at the mixing desk is checking that the film is playing back correctly and the other person is controlling the lighting – making sure the lights are on when the orchestra comes on and then as dark as possible during the film, with a low glow over the orchestra so they can be seen, and lit music stands so they can see their music.
So that’s essentially what goes into creating the Films in Concert Series. I’ll leave the final words to Craig Lawrence who admitted that while he is always focused on the technical aspects, something is amazing about these live Films in Concert performances. “Though it sounds cringy when people say something magical about it in the Albert Hall, but there truly is. We work in venues all over the world and I've seen them so many places, but there's just something different about these in the Albert Hall that makes them so special.”
The website at the Royal Albert Hall will tell you about all the performances you’ve missed over the years, and as of writing Home Alone In Concert is the next one scheduled, but I’ll be keeping a look about for next years roster to get my next Films In Concert fix.

‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ is coming to a city near you. Concert series is going to 4 Florida cities
Yip Yip! Get ready to go on a melodic journey with Aang and the rest of the gang this year.
The hit animated series “ Avatar: The Last Airbender ” is going on a concert tour, reaching a total of 100 cities across the world and multiple stops in Florida.
What is the ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Concert Series?
Per its website , this is a live-to-screen concert experience with a live orchestra bringing the cartoon's soundtrack to life as fans follow a collection of moments on Aang's journey.
"A mesmerizing orchestral ensemble, fusing Eastern and Western musical elements, delivers Avatar: The Last Airbender’s iconic music score in flawless harmony with a bespoke compilation of the show’s three seasons shown on a full-size cinema screen," the description states. "The series’ music track is exclusively performed live, leaving the original spoken audio track and sound effects untouched."
Variety reported earlier this year that original composer Jeremy Zuckerman has teamed up with the show's co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, as well as original editor Jeff Adams, to expand “Avatar’s” compositions for the world tour.
"Some of these compositions are over 20 years old. It didn’t occur to me then that the music would be so enduring,” Zuckerman told Variety. “I think its longevity is a testament to the quality of the ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ story, as much as — if not more so — to the quality of the music.
"Now, years later, there are so many things I wouldn’t do compositionally and creatively … In my mind, the music was being generated by an orchestra. But that was so beyond the budget. It didn’t even enter into the realm of possibility. And now here we are 20-plus years later, actually getting to hear this music performed by an orchestra, sounding close to what it would’ve been like in my 26-year-old self’s most indulgent fantasies. I’m so profoundly amazed and grateful.”
What Florida cities is 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' concert going to?
Right in the middle of the 100-city tour, Florida fans can relive their favorite moments in multiple live concerts across the state. Here's where and when the tour is stopping:
- Thursday, Oct. 3 - Tampa, Straz Theater
- Friday, Oct. 4 - West Palm Beach, Kravis Center for the Performing Arts
- Saturday, Oct. 5 - Orlando, Dr. Phillips Center (two shows: 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.)
- Sunday, Oct. 6 - Jacksonville, Moran Theater
How do I buy tickets to ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Concert Series?
You can purchase tickets on its website. As of now, only Tampa and West Palm Beach have their tickets available, with regular seats starting at $52 per person.
Orlando and Jacksonville are listed as "coming soon." Get more ticket information about “Avatar: The Last Airbender in Concert” on its website here .
How long is Avatar in concert?
The website says "from the starting time, the entire concert will run for approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission."
Where can I stream Avatar: The Last Airbender? See cartoon, live-action versions
You can stream the “Avatar: The Last Airbender” animated series on Netflix, Paramount Plus, Paramount+ Amazon Channel and Amazon Prime Video.
There are also two live-action versions of the series — M. Night Shyamalan's movie adaptation and the live action series. You can stream the 2010 movie on Roku, while the series is available on Netflix.
The World of Hans Zimmer –
A new dimension.
Powerful. Beautiful. Dramatic. Breathtaking. Strong. Touching. This is the music of two-time Academy Award ® winner Hans Zimmer. In 2024, his successful show The World of Hans Zimmer will receive a new musical programme and thus advance to an international concert series at the same time. The new subtitle “A New Dimension” already hints at this: Hans Zimmer is arranging a brand-new selection from his tremendously diverse collection of scores for The World of Hans Zimmer – A New Dimension. The audience will be taken on a unique musical journey that will immerse them in completely new dimensions.
The concert tour’s precursor The World of Hans Zimmer – A Symphonic Celebration first wowed audiences in Germany in 2018 and has since been on a triumphal march around the world. Hans Zimmer himself will not appear live on stage in The World of Hans Zimmer – A New Dimension but will function as the show’s curator and musical director. He says: “My aspiration with this new show is to preserve the culture of the orchestra and allow audiences to rediscover the unique facets of orchestral music. There are many background stories I would love to tell and long-time companions and friends I would like to introduce.”
The magic of Hans Zimmer’s works will continue to conjure live for audiences in 2024, along with some of the world’s most outstanding and renowned soloists and a masterful symphony orchestra.
With The World of Hans Zimmer, the “Hollywood Rebel” (according to the BBC) has created a glamorous, lively, exciting live experience of a very special kind.
Hans Zimmer’s extraordinary melodies and modern compositions captivate a huge worldwide fan base across generations. He has already energized countless international cinema blockbusters including “Dune,” “James Bond – No Time to Die,” “The Lion King,” “Gladiator,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “The Dark Knight” trilogy, “Interstellar,” “Last Samurai,” and “Top Gun: Maverick,” among others.

Led by conductor Anthony Brown, the orchestra is a mixture of emerging talent, music teachers, and professional musicians.
The stage will come alive with the enchanting presence of Classical Brit nominee Carly Paoli, whose sumptuous voice will touch your soul. Joining her is Gareth Dafydd Morris from the renowned Welsh National Opera, his voice carrying the power to transport you to new realms.
Leading this mesmerising spectacle is none other than national treasure Aled Jones, a masterful presenter whose artistry adds an extra layer of brilliance.
READ MORE: Music director bids farewell with romantic evening at The Anvil
“They’ll be playing some of the best classical and film music we all know and love; it really is going to be one of those events you’ll remember – come along for the ride with us all.”
Brown has chosen a diverse selection of music drawn from the most beloved pieces across concert halls, cinemas, and opera houses.
Performed by the 50-piece Fulltone Orchestra, audiences can delight in the grandeur of Sibelius' Finlandia , the dramatic flair of Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana , the poignant beauty of Elgar's Nimrod (Enigma Variations), and the emotive journey of Dvořák's 2nd Movement of The New World Symphony .
The concert will include special tributes to the legendary composers Ennio Morricone, Henry Mancini and Nino Rota, with Se Tu Fossi and Moon River performed by Classical Brit Nominee Carly Paoli and Parla Più Piano from The Godfather films sung by Gareth Dafydd Morris, whilst the Orchestra plays cinematic treasures like Gabriel’s Oboe and the main themes from the movies Out of Africa, The Magnificent Seven , and The Lord of the Rings . Carly Paoli will also be singing In Dreams from The Fellowship of the Ring .
SEE ALSO: From jazz to flamenco sounds - a variety of music at The Forge in May
With additional musical operatic pieces, no concert is complete without the timeless melodies of O Sole Mio and Nessun Dorma which will be delivered by Gareth Dafydd Morris. The evening will conclude with a surprise finale.
Talking earlier this week, Paoli said: "Everyone who knows me knows I just love to sing. Singing with a wonderful orchestra - another joy - singing classic songs by Morricone, Puccini and the Hollywood greats - well I’m in my happy place. So I’m thrilled to be doing exactly this with the amazing Fulltone Orchestra alongside wonderful Welsh tenor Gareth and my great friend, Aled.”
Conductor Brown added: “In the words of Clemency Burton-Hill, I too want to ‘extend the hand to those who feel that the world of classical music is a party to which they haven’t been invited’ and I too ‘want to open up a vast treasury of musical riches’ of classical music and music that is the soundtrack to some of the biggest film in cinema history – and what better way to do that with Aled Jones, Carly Paoli and Gareth Dafydd Morris, people who feel as passionately about this music that touches your soul, as I and the amazing musicians in Fulltone do. We are going to have an incredible night together.”
Tickets are priced at £49, £39, £24. Under 16s £2 off (includes £4 booking fee).
