Tom Cruise’s relationship with his daughter, Suri Cruise, is a topic that has long-bewildered fans of the actor.

In the 2000s, Cruise and Katie Holmes were regularly blasted across tabloids with their daughter. But, following their divorce in 2012, Cruise’s public appearances with Suri were rare.

Does Tom Cruise see Suri?

Rumors have circulated that Cruise's role in the Church of Scientology has complicated his relationship with his youngest child.

Tom Cruise has not been seen publicly with Suri since 2012 and is reportedly estranged from his daughter.

According to Us Weekly, it has been 11 years since the "Top Gun" star was seen publicly with Suri, who is now 16 — almost 17 — years old.

It is unclear whether he has seen or spoken to her behind closed doors but Page Six claims the star has not seen Suri since she was 7.

“If he wanted to see her, he could see her,” one source told Page Six . “Even people in prison have a right to see their children.”

Katie Holmes has custody of Suri but Cruise was given visitation rights.

The “Mission Impossible” actor and the “Dawson’s Creek” alum settled proceedings just 11 days after Holmes filed for divorce. Holmes was granted custody of their daughter.

Cruise was given visitation rights of 10 days per month but sources claim he opts not to see her.

“He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist,” claimed an Us Weekly source in 2018. Cruise reportedly pays over $33,000 per month in child support for Suri.

“He still loves her,” a source told Hollywood Life in 2019.

“Tom never intended to be estranged from his daughter when he decided to have a family with Katie and looks forward to repairing the relationship one day.”

Katie Holmes allegedly took Suri away from Tom Cruise to save her from Scientology.

Cruise is a member of the controversial Church of Scientology, a religious group often accused of being both a dangerous cult and a manipulative profit-making business.

Holmes also studied Scientology during their marriage but reportedly left Cruise to avoid becoming further entrenched in the group.

The actress now lives primarily in New York City with Suri, a relocation that may have helped her get her daughter out of the church.

In a 2013 libel suit against Bauer Media, whose magazines claimed he abandoned his daughter Suri Cruise, Cruise labeled the suggestion that Holmes divorced him "in part to protect Suri from Scientology" as “offensive.”

However, when asked if his ex-wife ever indicated that she left because of the religion or because she wanted to protect their daughter from Scientology, Cruise responded:

"Did she say that? That was one of the assertions, yes."

This likely means that Suri and Holmes have both been deemed a “Suppressive Person” by the church — a term Scientologists use to describe people who impede the progress of individual Scientologists or the Scientology movement.

Sources say that anyone who leaves the church is cut off from all members of the church, including their immediate family.

It is suspected that Holmes has been banned from speaking about Scientology.

The actress has never publicly spoken about her ex-husband’s religion nor why she left the church and critics of the group have suggested that she might be legally restricted from doing so.

Tony Ortega, former editor-in-chief of The Village Voice and a critic of Scientology, told Us Weekly that Holmes probably signed “some nondisclosure agreement saying she wouldn’t say anything bad about Scientology.”

“She wanted to get away and she wanted to get Suri,” Ortega explains.

He also suggested that she has been advised not to associate with Leah Remini, a fellow actress who has been outspoken about leaving the church.

“I’m sure her father, who’s a smart attorney, has probably told her that hanging out with Leah would be considered disparaging the church in the eyes of Tom and the church,” Ortega says.

Tom Cruise appears to have a relationship with the children he shares with Nicole Kidman.

Cruise also shares two adult children, Connor and Isabella, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman and, by all accounts, seems close with them.

Both children, who were adopted by the former couple, recently promoted their father’s new movie, “Top Gun: Maverick” on their social media platforms.

Connor and Isabella are active members of the Church Of Scientology.

“They are adults," Kidman said about their faith in 2018. "They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them."

During his deposition, Tom explained that Suri was no longer a practicing member of Scientology (via People ). While Tom Cruise's connection to daughter Suri Cruise was questioned following his split from Katie Holmes, the "Dawson's Creek" star publicly became a single mom, who seemingly adored raising her child. And it seems Suri Cruise already has big plans for her college years with a TikTok from a classmate revealing where she is headed in the fall.

In a video shared on TikTok May 20 with the caption "LaG commitment day," Suri and her friends celebrated which schools they would headed to in the fall, showing off their college sweaters in the video set to the Hannah Montana song "I'll Always Remember You." And the 18-year-old could be seen sporting a red Carnegie Mellon University sweater while making silly faces for the camera and doing a cute dance with her friends.

And while Katie—who split with Tom in 2012—has expressed her desire to keep Suri out of the spotlight she has reflected on their life together. And for the Batman Begins actress, letting Suri have a private life was important because she was "so visible at a young age."

"I really like to protect her," the 45-year-old told Glamour last year . "I'm very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She's an incredible person."

Tom Cruise Can See Suri 10 Days a Month — But Hasn’t Seen Her in Years

Tom Cruise can see his daughter Suri up to 10 days a month, but chooses not to, a source tells Us Weekly exclusively.

“Every person is allowed to see their child if they wanted to,” the source tells Us , revealing custody of the 12-year-old is outlined in his divorce agreement with Katie Holmes . “He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist.”

Cruise, 56, and Holmes, 39, who wed in 2006, split in 2012. The Dawson’s Creek alum blindsided the actor by filing for divorce, a source reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly , noting Cruise hasn’t been photographed with Suri since 2013.

Tony Ortega , former editor in chief of The Village Voice and a critic of Scientology, adds that Holmes probably signed “some nondisclosure agreement saying she wouldn’t say anything bad about Scientology” to ensure she had primary custody of their daughter. “She wanted to get away and she wanted to get Suri,” Ortega explains.

The author also notes that Holmes was likely advised not to keep in touch with former friend and former Scientologist Leah Remini after her divorce from Cruise.

“I’m sure her father, who’s a smart attorney, has probably told her that hanging out with Leah would be considered disparaging the church in the eyes of Tom and the church,” Ortega tells Us . “We were all hoping that eventually Katie would say more and that we’d see them together, but Leah has gone on to become this real lightning rod for exposing Scientology’s abuses, and I think Katie just wants to keep the life she has right now with Suri and not get in a big fight with the church.”

Remini, who publicly left the church in 2013, recently claimed Holmes is not “allowed to have a meal” with her because she could “lose custody of Suri.”

“We used to be close friends,” the former King of Queens star, who stars and produces A&E’s Scientology and the Aftermath, told LaPalme magazine last month. “It’s quite sick, really.”

The Church of Scientology’s spokesperson Karin Pouw denied Remini’s claims in a statement to Us Weekly: “Ms. Remini’s ridiculous rants are unending and the myths and tales she and her coproducer spread are grown more bizarre by the day,” the statement read in part. “They hire producers to rehash tired, preposterous myths invented and spread by the same handful of former Scientologists motivated by greed and anger.”

Ortega tells Us that he doesn’t believe Cruise would want custody, noting the possibility could be enough to keep Holmes from reaching out to Remini.

Katie Holmes is celebrating her mini-me daughter Suri Cruise 's birthday with some rare pictures.

To celebrate her daughter turning 15 on Sunday, Holmes, who is famously private about the teen, posted three Instagram photos of Suri taken throughout the years. Homes shares the teen with ex-husband Tom Cruise , to whom she was married from 2006 to 2012.

In one of the pictures, Holmes cradles her look-alike daughter in arms. In another, Suri smiles for the camera while giving mom a big hug.

"Happy 15th Birthday Sweetheart! I love you!!!!!!!!" Holmes wrote in the caption. "I can’t believe you are already 15!"

Other stars gushed over the cute photos in the comments.

"Happy birthday," commented Viola Davis, adding a heart emoji.

"Happy happy 15th!!" wrote "Good Witch" star Bailee Madison. "Can’t believe she is 15 now. All my love to you both"

Though Holmes is known for keeping her daughter out of the spotlight, the "Dawson's Creek" star, 42, opened up about bonding with Suri during the coronavirus pandemic in her November cover story for Vogue Australia .

"Hobbies such as sewing, painting and writing became new hallmarks of satisfaction and having had time at home to just be," she wrote. "To listen. To live for a moment in time without the pressure of results and instead appreciate the natural rhythms of mother and daughter was the most precious gift."

Holmes also recalled how spending time with a friend with a young child made her reminisce about raising Suri.

"Taking time in Washington Square Park with a friend whose little child was taking his first steps brought me back to when my own child began to walk," she wrote. "I felt nostalgic and in awe of the power of time and the continuation of life."

Suri Cruise is celebrating her 18th birthday in New York.

She was spotted out and about in the Big Apple on Wednesday, clutching a charming bouquet of pink carnation flowers. Sporting an all-denim look, Suri appeared to be gearing up for her big birthday celebrations, miles away from her father Tom Cruise .

New pictures from this afternoon show Suri enjoying her 18th celebrations, walking with a friend as she carried bags of gifts. She stepped out in the rain in downtown Manhattan, beaming as she didn't appear to let the wet weather dampen her celebrations.

The youngster is thought to be spending her big day with mum Katie Holmes at their stateside home. She's lived a separate life away from her dad for more than a decade – even so, he appears to be busy filming in London.

Tom's shooting scenes for the upcoming Mission Impossible movie and was snapped only yesterday recording an action-packed moment involving a helicopter. It doesn't look likely that he'll fly out to America to join his daughter's milestone birthday.

It comes after recent reports that Tom has "nothing" to do with Suri's life entirely. Katie and Tom's daughter is thought to have already been applying to colleges but without the help of her dad due to their lack of relationship. Suri has been thinking about her future which could include going to a fashion college in New York.

Katie is thought to be heavily involved in the application process as she helps her daughter to take the next step in her life. "Suri does not know her father anymore and she has not spent time with him in a decade. She does not go to see his movies and he has no part in her life," a source told MailOnline.

Despite this, Tom will pay his daughter's tuition costs per his divorce agreement. According to their divorce documents, Tom agreed to pay Katie $400,000 a month until Suri turned 18 years old. Tom also agreed to pay all of Suri's expenses, including "medical, dental, insurance, education, college and other extracurricular costs".

It's possible that Suri could go on to study fashion in New York and is apparently "leaning towards" studying at Fordham University. "Suri is applying to schools all over the place. [Katie] really does want her to stay in New York so they can be close to each other. Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective," the insider shared.

Katie reportedly 'shielded' their 17-year-old's life from the spotlight, as well as her ex-husband's beliefs. The two tied the knot in Italy back in 2006 in a Scientologist ceremony, but as the years went on, Katie began feeling 'intimidated' by the church.

According to reports, Katie didn't want to raise Suri as a Scientologist after seeing Tom's first wife Nicole Kidman "become distant" with their kids, per MailOnline in 2016. Katie fumed when members of the Church of Scientology moved into the ex-couple's home.

Ron Miscavige, the father of Scientology leader David, told the outlet there is a "toxic" policy of "disconnection" operating within the church. Speaking to MailOnline five years before he died in 2016, he said: "That didn't sit so well with Katie."

'Top Gun: Maverick' Star Tom Cruise Allegedly Does "Not Have a Part" in Daughter Suri's Life

Today, it isn't unusual in Hollywood for celebrity stars to get divorced. Although divorce used to be a very taboo thing, public perception has shifted significantly over the past several decades. Now, it's more surprising to hear of celebrities who have been married for any length of time — especially after they have children.

Famous couples have been learning how to co-parent after divorce for many, many years, but not all seem to have solid relationships. Does Tom Cruise ( Top Gun: Maverick ) see Suri, his youngest daughter? New details involving Tom's messy 2012 split from Katie Holmes ( Dawson's Creek ) have been revealed.

Does Tom Cruise see his daughter Suri?

According to Us Weekly , Tom hadn't seen his daughter in several years. The publication reports the two were last photographed together in 2013 (the same year Tom sued In Touch for $50 million after the publication reported that he "abandoned" his daughter), which was only one year after his ex-wife and mother of Suri, Katie Holmes, filed for divorce. The lack of sightings likely has to do with Tom's controversial religion, Scientology. However, he previously denied Scientology's role in the estrangement.

"Samantha Domingo, the former follower who left the organization in 2004, told Us that the sighting was likely just for appearances," the publication said. According to Samantha, Tom doesn't have a relationship with her because he's "not allowed," as his daughter is no longer in Scientology.

Because of this, the church doesn't view Suri as Tom's daughter, but rather a "spiritual being in Tom's daughter's body."

“Maybe he did it for a photo op,” Samantha told the publication, “to make it seem like he was connected so he wouldn’t be criticized.”

However, when Katie filed for divorce from Tom after seven years, the two reached a very quick settlement and their divorce was finalized only 11 days after it was filed. With their divorce, Katie received primary custody of their daughter, Suri, who was 6 years old at the time, and Tom was granted visitation rights.

Suri — who lives in New York with her mom — is Tom's third child. His older two children are from his second marriage with Nicole Kidman ( Big Little Lies ). The two actors adopted children while they were married and are now parents to 28-year-old son Connor and 30-year-old daughter Isabella Jane.

Reports indicate Tom still has relationships with both Connor and Isabella (who allegedly remained in Scientology) following his 2001 divorce from Nicole.

Suri Cruise hopes to attend fashion school in New York City.

In 2023, Suri — who's about to turn 17 — reportedly started the college application process. She's "leaning towards" studying fashion (and possibly music) in the Big Apple. With a wardrobe reportedly worth $5 million, Suri's passion for fashion is unmatched.

"Suri is applying to schools all over the place. [Katie] really does want her to stay in New York so they can be close to each other. Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective," a source close to Katie told Daily Mail .

While "overwhelmed" mom Katie is assisting her daughter with the daunting application process, Tom's absence continues.

The insider specifically stated that the Jerry Maguire star does "not have a part in [Suri's] life." That being said, he will be paying for Suri's college tuition.

Divorce documents state that Tom agreed to pay $400,000 a year in child support, covering Suri's "medical, dental, insurance, education, college, and other extracurricular costs."

Though Tom seemingly doesn't provide emotional support of any kind, the source admitted his financial dedication to Suri is stellar.

"Tom has always maintained his responsibilities when it comes to financial obligations to Katie and Suri," the insider detailed.

Suri's relationship with her father may have fizzled, but supermom Katie provides more than enough love.

"Being raised by a single mom in New York has made Suri who she is. Katie has always put Suri first and Suri loves her mom more than anything," the insider said. "She is a smart girl, and she is turning into a very intelligent mature woman. She has a very close group of loyal friends, and she knows exactly where she comes from."

Here's hoping Suri's college experience is fulfilling and drama-free.

Suri is Tom Cruise’s youngest child. The Academy Award-nominated actor welcomed his daughter in April 2006 with his then-wife, Katie Holmes, whom he first started dating in June 2005. The former couple reportedly got engaged that same year after only seven weeks of dating. Around the same time, Holmes, who was raised Catholic, reportedly began converting to Cruise’s Church of Scientology. The pair ultimately split in 2012, and it is believed that the Dawson’s Creek alum filed for divorce from Cruise in part to “ protect ” their daughter Suri from Scientology.

Holmes talked about how she wanted to give her child a normal childhood. She told Town & Country at the time, “My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now. It’s very important that I’m present and she has a stable, innocent childhood. I feel so blessed to do what I do, but there’s nothing in the world better than watching your child succeed.”

Tom Cruise’s only son, Connor, was born in January 1995. The Risky Business star adopted Connor shortly after his birth with his then-wife, Nicole Kidman. The former couple, who got married in December 1990 and divorced in 2001, also adopted a daughter, Isabella, three years before they welcomed their son.

Isabella “Bella” Cruise is Tom Cruise’s eldest child. Bella was adopted by Cruise and his then-wife Nicole Kidman during their marriage, which lasted for a decade until 2001. Like her dad, Bella is a notoriously private person. What we do know about her is that she’s currently based in London, where she works as an artist and owns her own company. Bella is also married to Max Parker, an IT consultant.

When Bella got married in 2015, there was some speculation that she was estranged from her mother and father because neither attended the wedding. The artist has since shut down those claims, telling the Daily Mail in 2016, “Of course [we talk], they’re my parents. Anyone who says otherwise is full of shit.”

When Suri Cruise attends public events with her mother Katie Holmes, or when she occasionally turns up on Holmes’ Instagram feed, she looks like a bright, confident and engaging 12-year-old girl.

It’s evident that Holmes is very proud of Suri and delights in spending time with her. But does Suri’s famous father Tom Cruise feel the same way? Does he even know his daughter?

A new report in Us Weekly says that Cruise, 56, isn’t a part of his youngest daughter’s life — though he could be.

A source told the magazine that his 2012 divorce settlement from Holmes allows him to see Suri up to 10 days a month. But the “Mission: Impossible — Fallout” star chooses to not exercise that option — and not because of his busy, globe-trotting movie star schedule.

“He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist,” the source said.

“She” presumably means Suri, though “she” could also mean Holmes.

The “Dawson’s Creek” actress, 39, reportedly gave the Church of Scientology a try during her six-year marriage to Cruise, who is a devoted member and whose superstar status has made him a highly valuable member of the organization.

But Scientology’s practices, which critics say are cult-like, apparently weren’t for Holmes. She blindsided Cruise with a sudden request to divorce, with reports saying she was concerned that Suri, turning 7, was getting to an age when the Church would expect to exercise increasing control over her upbringing and education.

Us Weekly noted that Cruise hasn’t been photographed with Suri since 2013. Star magazine reported that Scientology leaders told Cruise he should stay away from his daughter because she what’s known as a “suppressive person,” or an “SP.”

“Tom is a loyal Scientologist, so when church leaders told him he couldn’t see Suri, he didn’t question it,” an insider told the Star.

Tony Ortega, the former editor in chief of The Village Voice who has long written critically about Scientology, told Us Weekly that Holmes probably signed a nondisclosure agreement when she divorced Cruise which prohibits her from saying “anything bad about Scientology.”

That was the only way to secure primary custody of Suri, explained Ortega, who publishes a daily blog about Scientology called the Underground Bunker.

“She wanted to get away and she wanted to get Suri,” Ortega explained.

Actress Leah Remini, another former Scientologist and critic, told Us Weekly in an earlier interview that Holmes could face serious consequences involving custody if she spoke out against Cruise or Scientology.

Remini, who hosts the the A&E investigative series, “Scientology and the Aftermath,” also assumes Cruise’s other famous ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, signed a non-disclosure agreement.

But unlike Holmes, Kidman couldn’t control whether her children with Cruise became Scientologists. Reports have circulated that the organization worked to estrange Kidman from Isabella, 24, and Connor, 22, after the divorce. Isabella and Connor were raised as Scientologists and decided to live with their father and remain devoted to the organization. Kidman subsequently married country singer Keith Urban in 2006 and they have two daughters,10 and 7.

“I keep wondering — why haven’t Katie Holmes or Nicole Kidman spoken out?” Remini told Us Weekly. Remini said she once was friends with Holmes and attended her lavish 2006 wedding to Cruise in a 15th century Italian castle.

“I assume they were forced to sign prohibitive documents,” Remini said. “Trust me, Katie’s not allowed to have a meal with me and we used to be close friends. She could lose custody of Suri. It’s quite sick, really.”

Ortega told Us Weekly that Holmes probably felt she had to cut off contact with Remini after the divorce and after the “King of Queens” star left Scientology in 2013.

“I’m sure (Holmes’) father, who’s a smart attorney, has probably told her that hanging out with Leah would be considered disparaging the church in the eyes of Tom and the church,” Ortega told Us Weekly.

“We were all hoping that eventually Katie would say more and that we’d see them together, but Leah has gone on to become this real lightning rod for exposing Scientology’s abuses, and I think Katie just wants to keep the life she has right now with Suri and not get in a big fight with the church,” Ortega concluded.

Holmes is currently dating actor Jamie Foxx.

In a previous statement to Us Weekly, Church of Scientology spokesperson Karin Pouw denied Remini’s claims about Holmes, Cruise and Kidman.

“Ms. Remini’s ridiculous rants are unending and the myths and tales she and her coproducer spread are grown more bizarre by the day,” Pouw said in a statement. “They hire producers to rehash tired, preposterous myths invented and spread by the same handful of former Scientologists motivated by greed and anger.”

Suri Cruise reportedly celebrated her eighteenth birthday today, while she remains estranged from her father, Hollywood star Tom Cruise , due to his Scientology ties.

However, Suri's bond with her mother, actress Katie Holmes , remains strong as they navigate life in New York. According to reports, Cruise, who is currently filming "Mission Impossible 8," no longer "exists" to his daughter, who "does not want to rely on him" for anything.

Suri Cruise Turns 18 As She Remains Estranged From Her Father, Tom Cruise

The relationship strain between the father-daughter duo was reportedly caused by his devotion to the Church of Scientology, and now sources close to Suri have revealed that as she navigates her path into adulthood and considers her future career, one thing remains clear: her father, Cruise, "does not exist to her."

Although Suri has been estranged from her father for 12 years, her 18th birthday symbolizes the formal termination of legal ties with the actor, including his obligation to pay child support, reportedly totaling $400,000 annually.

However, financial incentives won't sway Suri to reconnect with her father, and sources who spoke to DailyMail affirmed that she remains steadfast in her decision.

A source noted, "Suri will not have any contact with her father, despite being 18, and even if he called, she would not answer. He does not exist to Katie or Suri, and his daughter does not want to rely on him for anything."

"She feels that she has one parent, and that is her mother," they added.

Suri Cruise Plans To Remain A 'Private Citizen'

Suri's strong bond with her mother is evident; they are inseparable. Holmes and her daughter are frequently seen together in New York, radiating joy as a mother-daughter duo.

While Suri shares many traits with her mother, such as a love for fashion, creativity, and striking looks, she reportedly has no intention of pursuing an acting career like Holmes or Cruise.

Insiders also suggested that although the 18-year-old hasn't finalized her plans, she seems committed to avoiding the traditional Hollywood path and prioritizes maintaining privacy, given her celebrity background.

A source revealed, "Suri's currently weighing up her options for the future. But she plans on remaining a private citizen."

Additionally, while fashion piques her interest, insiders shared that Suri leans toward studying it at college, particularly in New York City, to stay close to her mother.

Tom Cruise Once Said He Will Always Be There For His Children And 'Love Them'

Cruise's estrangement from his daughter is a sad ending to what began as a fairytale back in 2006 when the "Top Gun" actor confessed to Vanity Fair that he "always wanted to be a father."

"I always said to myself that my children would be able to depend on me and I would always be there for them and love them — that I'd never make a promise to my kids that I couldn't keep," the movie star said at the time.

He added, "I'm not one of those people who believe you can spoil a child with too much love. You can never give a child too much love. There's just no way."

A year before Suri's birth in 2006, Cruise proclaimed his love for Holmes by jumping up and down on Oprah Winfrey's couch while on her talk show, "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in 2005.

Months later, the love birds exchanged vows in a grand ceremony, gracing the pages of Hello! magazine as Hollywood's newest power couple.

However, the glamor of their marriage soon faded, culminating in Homes filing for divorce just five and a half years later, a decision which reportedly caught Cruise off guard.

Suri, then a mere six years old, found herself thrust into the spotlight amid speculation surrounding her parents' split and Tom's affiliation with Scientology.

Following Cruise and Holmes' divorce, the actress was granted sole custody of their daughter, shielding her from the controversies of Scientology, while Cruise retained visitation rights.

However, despite his visitation rights, Cruise's sightings with Suri dwindled over the years, with reports of prolonged absences of more than 100 days throughout the year.

During a legal deposition against tabloid magazines in November 2013, Cruise reportedly admitted that Holmes had filed for divorce "to protect Suri from Scientology."

It is yet to be seen if the actor will make any attempts to reunite with his now-adult daughter.

Suri Cruise is about to become the newest Tartan.

The 18-year-old daughter of exes Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will be attending Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa., come the fall.

Suri revealed the news via a TikTok posted by a fellow student at New York City’s LaGuardia High School, which was captioned, “LaG commitment day 👋.”

The video, which was set to the tune of Abbi Sutphen’s “Always Remember You,” showed about a dozen students sporting sweatshirts emblazoned with their soon-to-be college names.

When the camera panned to Suri, she was wearing a red hoodie that had the words “Carnegie Mellon” written in white across the chest.

The teen used her hands to show off the school’s name as she smiled and made silly faces for the camera.

She also did a cute dance alongside her friend.

Suri — who celebrated her milestone birthday in April — paired the telling top with denim jeans, and she carried a navy blue backpack.

According to the Daily Mail , she is “leaning towards” studying fashion.

Holmes, 45, reportedly helped her daughter with her “host” of applications; however, Suri “has always been determined to forge her own way.”

“She is a smart girl, and she is turning into a very intelligent mature young woman. She has a very close group of loyal friends, and she knows exactly where she comes from,” a source told the outlet.

The source added that although Holmes is proud of her only child, the actress is “overwhelmed” by the thought of sending her little girl off.

“Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective,” the source said.

The “Dawson’s Creek” star told Glamour last year that she has worked hard to “protect” Suri from the spotlight “because she was so visible at a young age.”

Holmes went on to call the teen “an incredible person.”

While the mother-daughter duo are extremely close , Suri has no relationship with Tom , 61.

As Page Six exclusively reported, the actor has not seen his youngest child since 2012.

In 2013, Tom — the most famous member of the Church of Scientology — admitted that Holmes had filed for divorce after almost six years of marriage “to protect Suri from Scientology.”

Regular members who leave the organization are declared “suppressive persons,” and those who stay are told to completely cut them off.

Tom Cruise’s Estranged Daughter Suri Cruise Has Moved on to “a Life Without Daddy”

From the moment she was born, Suri Cruise’ s every move has been in the spotlight. At the time, she was celebrated as the child of a beloved Hollywood couple. But as she’s grown up, the focus has been more on her relationship — or lack thereof — with her estranged father, Tom Cruise . But with all the drama surrounding Tom’s highly-publicized divorce from the 12-year-old’s mother, Katie Holmes , fans are often left asking: Does Tom see Suri? Keep reading to learn everything we know about the situation when it comes to Tom and his youngest child.

Does Tom see Suri?

In short, the answer is no; it’s been more than four years since the actor, 55, was last seen publicly with Suri. The last time they were photographed together was in September 2013, just slightly more than a year after Tom and Katie finalized their divorce . And after all this time, Suri has gotten used to life without Tom . “Tom’s been out of their lives for so long, she and Katie have moved on,” an insider told Life & Style, “to a life without Daddy.”

It would appear that they don’t see each other privately, either, as last June, sources exclusively told In Touch that Tom opted not to see his daughter despite being just 23 miles away from her on Father’s Day. “Tom could have easily made the trip to see Suri. It only takes about 30 minutes without traffic,” a source said at the time. “It would’ve only added a few hours to his busy schedule.”

Tom used to go out of his way to see his daughter, though. “When she was eight or nine, Suri must have always thought that Tom would show up with presents and take her out for a shopping spree or to an amusement park on her birthday, like he used to,” an insider shared with Life & Style .

Scientology may play a role in their estrangement.

There’s no clear answer on why Tom doesn’t see his kid — but it would appear that his role as an active member of Scientology impacts his decision. An insider previously told In Touch that Tom has kept a distance from his daughter because Katie was labeled a “suppressive person” — aka an “SP” — after leaving the church of Scientology. The term describes someone who stands in the way of spiritual progress (and is often used to define someone who left the religion). “Suri hasn’t been labeled a ‘supressive person,’ but Katie has,” an insider said at the time. “And her closeness to her daughter likely makes seeing both off-limits to Tom.”Suri basically doesn’t know life any other way.

At this point, her dad has been out of her life almost as long as he was in her life — and as a result of missing her formative years, Suri has pretty much adapted to life without her father . “Suri has stopped missing him,” an insider told Life & Style last September. “Katie doesn’t want to bring up his name and have Suri start missing him all over again.”

As a result, Katie — who rarely, if ever, mentions her ex in interviews — doesn’t even bother speaking of him at home. The insider added, “Katie is more adamant than ever about not talking about him, publicly or privately. With Tom missing from Suri’s life for so long, Katie believes her daughter only has distant memories of him. At this point, Katie doesn’t want to bring up his name and have Suri start longing to see Tom all over again. It would be too painful for both of them.”

But she didn’t always feel that way. “At one time, Katie felt that Suri needed Tom’s presence in her life,” and insider told Life & Style . “But not anymore. Katie tells Suri that she, her parents, relatives and friends are all the family she needs. Together, they’re happier than ever.”

Even though Katie has sworn off talking about Tom, he hasn’t done the same when it comes to Suri.

Despite the fact that he barely knows his daughter — or so it seems — Tom hasn’t shied away from answering questions about the 12-year-old. Last year, while on a press junket for his failed movie The Mummy , a reporter asked the actor if he thought Suri was bit by the “acting bug” and would follow her parents’ footsteps. He replied, “You never know, you never know.”

Suri isn’t without a father figure, despite her estrangement with Tom.

Katie Holmes began dating Jamie Foxx around the same time Suri last saw her father — and as their relationship grew stronger, so did Jamie’s relationship with Suri — who sees the Annie actor as a de facto dad. “Katie’s tried so hard to be all things to Suri, [but] there’s a definite hole there left by Tom, and Katie does her best to fill it,” a source previously told Hollywood Life . “She’s grateful to have Jamie in her life now, he’s becoming more and more of a father figure to Suri and she’s very grateful for that.”

Deal of the Day

Still, there’s hope that suri and tom may one day reunite..

The death of Tom’s mother, Mary, was a wake-up call to the father-of-three — who was inspired by her sudden passing out to reach out to his daughter. At the time, a source told In Touch , “Tom now wants to re-establish his relationship with his daughter and begin seeing her on a regular basis,” the source said, adding that he is “ready to ramp up his relationship with her in a big way.” However, it would appear the two haven’t reconnected quite yet.

It might be hard for the two to reconcile, though, because at this point, it seems he barely even knows his little girl. “I know Tom sees pictures of Suri, and comments on them from time to time to friends,” an insider told Life & Style , “but he really doesn’t have a grasp of the mature young lady she’s turning into.”

After all, he has a pretty solid relationship with his adult children.

In addition to Suri, Tom has two children with ex Nicole Kidman — 25-year-old Bella and 23-year-old Connor. The two were raised primarily by their father — and, notably, are followers of Scientology — and appear to have strong relationships with their dad, which means there may still be hope for Suri and Tom.

And it seems Suri Cruise already has big plans for her college years with a TikTok from a classmate revealing where she is headed in the fall.

"I really like to protect her," the 45-year-old told Glamour last year . "I'm very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She's an incredible person."

And it also meant a lot to the Dawson's Creek alum to have Suri sing and do background vocals on her recent projects, 2022's Alone Together and 2023's Rare Objects .

She added, "It was very meaningful to me to have her there, because she's my heart."

While the nepo baby conversation has been raging on across social media, there's one child of nepotism who, instead of striking out into film and TV, has been keeping a rather low profile. Suri Cruise's name has been emblazoned across tabloid headlines ever since she entered this world on April 18, 2006. However, the daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise has only been seen in fleeting glimpses through images captured by the long lenses of paparazzi and eager fans' sneaky phone cameras.

Whether this now-grown daughter of Hollywood royalty will eventually make a bid for her own career in entertainment remains to be seen, but the shots we've seen over the years make clear that she has the kind of physique usually seen on catwalks or in basketball arenas. That's right — it seems Suri has had plenty of growth spurts and now stands at an impressive height.

While her exact measurements are unknown, it seems the teenager has now exceeded the height of her father, who is widely known to be on the shorter side . With Tom's height making headlines every time he's caught standing next to a taller actress (and even one tabloid speculating that he wears secret heels inside of his shoes), it's something of a pop culture scandal to see his estranged daughter climbing in inches. Let's take a trip down memory lane and see how Suri's statuesque status came to be.

Suri Cruise made her media debut at 5 months old

While some celebrity parents are incredibly private when it comes to the birth of their children, in 2006, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise couldn't help but gush over their newborn daughter to the press. In fact, Suri Cruise's photo was printed on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine before she even knew how to crawl. In the exclusive cover story, writer Jane Sarkin recorded inside details about the baby's appearance, Suri's unique name , and her parents' budding relationship with their newborn daughter.

Coming in at just 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and 20 inches in length, baby Suri was a pipsqueak by adult standards. However, she was right on track to develop normally, as the average length for a newborn is 19 to 20 inches. Her small stature wasn't the only way she resembled her famous father, either. As a baby, Suri had what Sarkin called Tom's "famous helmet of dark-brown hair." First-time mom Katie agreed, saying, "I think she has Tom's eyes. I think she looks like Tom."

The doting father disagreed, saying, "She has Kate's lips and eyes. I think she looks like Kate." The young parents were the perfect image of the nuclear family and, thanks to their comments, the public couldn't get enough of beautiful Suri either. In the years to come, the press would keep a close eye on her to see just exactly which parent she would turn out to resemble the most.

The paparazzi couldn't get enough of her

As the daughter of a "Dawson's Creek" alum and one of Hollywood's last true movie stars, it was inevitable that Suri Cruise would have to deal with more cameras in her face than most. However, the media attention that the little girl attracted in her early years was chaotic, to say the least. In the early 2000s, almost every photo of Suri shows her carried in her parents' arms with her head bowed down.

Katie opened up i n a rare "Today" show appearance about her desire for her daughter to have a similar upbringing as she did as a child, growing up out of the spotlight (via E! News ). Tom, on the other hand, admitted that he sees the media attention as something his daughter will just have to get used to after a while. Speaking with "GMTV" in 2009, the "Mission Impossible" star admitted that he doesn't want his youngest daughter "to be sheltered in any way," (via RTE ).

Suri Cruise joined dad Tom Cruise on his movie sets

Like many a nepo baby before her, Suri Cruise has logged many hours toddling around on film sets. While images of young Suri on her own two feet were hard to come by in the early days, reports from behind the scenes of her dad's film projects gave fans insight into how Hollywood's new "It" baby was developing.

In the lead-up to Tom Cruise's 2010 film "Knight and Day," co-star Cameron Diaz couldn't help but open up about her fellow actor's 4-year-old daughter's on-set shenanigans during an interview with "GMTV." Despite the movie bombing at the box office, it seems Suri made the set her playground, and Diaz spoke positively about Suri's imaginative games. She said, "It was like, 'These are what muffins we have today', and she played out all these scenes, it was so fun ... Suri was going around serving all of us," (via Marie Claire ).

While there are sadly no photos of all the fun and games that reportedly took place on the "Knight and Day" set, these little anecdotes shared during the film's press tour hinted at the fact that Suri was not only up and running, but also up and running businesses. Tom, for his part, also couldn't help but brag about his daughter's creative powers: "She draws, she acts, she writes," he said. "In between takes she would have her own little scenes going on."

As a toddler, she was photographed walking around New York City

By 2008, Suri Cruise was strutting her stuff in public. While the world's rare glimpses into the tot's life had included the lush Vanity Fair cover story and quick paparazzi snaps of Suri's face buried in her parents' necks, by the time she turned 2, the public celebrated their first peeks at the toddler exploring the world on her own.

Her impressive height had yet to make itself known, with the bob-rocking little girl still standing pretty low to the ground. Suri Cruise got athletic with her mom

While cities like New York and Los Angeles had become fishbowls for the famed actress and her daughter, the duo seemed to enjoy a newfound freedom when they traveled to Massachusetts that year.

Far from the smoky eyes and diamond-dripping looks that Katie Holmes' fans were used to seeing her don on red carpets, the "Batman Begins" star was dressed head to toe in track and field gear, including navy sweatpants and a white tee. Little Suri also traded in her chic dresses and miniature-sized ballet flats for an adorable set of polka-dot trousers, a light purple tank top, and sporty tennis shoes. Most wholesome of all, though, was the sight of Katie carrying Suri's baby doll in her arms.

For a family unit so private, this quiet moment revealed a lot about their mother-daughter dynamic. For one, it showed that Katie wasn't afraid to get active with her daughter. And with her pigtails bobbing along as she ran, the Hollywood tot was already foreshadowing to fans just how strong, tall, and athletic she would one day grow up to be.

She suited up for a gymnastics class

Although she has famous parents, Suri Cruise's childhood wasn't all helicopter rides and red-carpet premieres — although, admittedly, there were a few of those too. In 2011, the youngster was photographed in a gymnastics studio, all suited up in her pink and black leotard and taking directions from a woman who appeared to be her coach. Over the years, more leaked photos showed Suri advancing in her gymnast skills, including photos that showed her leaping atop a balance beam and smiling at the crowd as she completed a backbend. Katie is also seen lurking in the background of a few snaps, no doubt looking on with equal parts nerves and pride.

Not only did these tumble-ready pics show that Suri was being raised with some semblance of normality, but they also gave fans a look at just how much Suri had grown since her iconic Vanity Fair cover. Most notably, she was growing up tall despite her famously short father. With Tom Cruise and Katie's divorce on the horizon, the then-5-year-old's impressive height was foreshadowing the great divide that would eventually grow between father and daughter, who are now completely estranged, according to insiders.

Suri Cruise learned how to ride a bike

In the summer of 2012, Suri Cruise took to the streets — and no, not in the back seat of a limousine, but on her very own bright pink bicycle. The then-6-year-old was an adorable sight, giving some of her stuffed animals a ride in the bicycle's basket. While she wasn't wearing any kneepads, Suri was rocking a matching pink helmet. But not to worry: Mom Katie Holmes was photographed smiling as she walked alongside her daughter. She even had one hand on the handlebars, making sure her small bicyclist didn't take a tumble.

According to a report published in the medical journal Children , learning to ride a bicycle not only helps young children with their motor skills, but it also benefits their emotional development. We might never know if Suri was cycling around Manhattan's West Side bike path that sunny August day as a rite of passage or as a form of holistic therapy amid the media storm surrounding her family. But one thing's for certain: The celebrity daughter was clearly continuing to grow up with a passion for athletics and was well looked after by her movie star mother.

She was only 6 when her famous parents divorced

After five years of marriage, the sad news broke on June 29, 2012 that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were divorcing. For a couple who had garnered an extreme amount of publicity during their time together, including a blockbuster wedding ceremony in Bracciano, Italy, and their very own portmanteau, TomKat — à la Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie's "Brangelina" or Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's "Tayvis" title — the news of their divorce was a pop culture shocker.

However, it wasn't just their fans who were affected by the news of their split. The couple's daughter, Suri Cruise, was only 6 years old when her parents went their separate ways and, according to reports, it wasn't the most amicable of splits. While Katie has refrained from speaking out about her reasons for filing for divorce, many believe that it was her fear of her husband's Scientologist faith that led her to go her own way.

At the time, Katie's lawyer Jonathan Wolfe issued a statement to People that read, "Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest." Tom's people issued their own statement which read, "Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children," (via the Daily Mail ). Despite the star's claim, Suri's parents' divorce concluded with her mom receiving sole custody. As the years have rolled on, insiders claim that Suri's look-alike father has no role in her life.

As Suri Cruise grew up, she became her mom's mini-me

When she was younger, paparazzi pics often showed little Suri Cruise's father carrying her. However, as reports of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' divorce raged on, these father-daughter outings became less frequent. Sadly, one of Suri and her father's last public appearances together came in July 2012.

Meanwhile, the little girl's bond with her mother seemed to only grow stronger. When the news of her parents' divorce officially broke, Suri was seen walking around New York City on her own two ballet flat-clad feet in matching outfits with her mother. The Hollywood tyke wore a summery dress in a light pink blush color paired with bright red shoes.

Holding onto Suri's hand was mom Katie, who wore a casual pair of tight blue jeans, brown suede boots, and a flowing button-up top in the same summer blush shade as her daughter's dress. To shield her eyes from the sun and, most likely, the flash of the paparazzi's cameras, she also donned a pair of dark sunglasses. Even though Suri hadn't even reached the age of 10 yet, photos of this sweet twinning moment showed that she was already elbow-high next to her mother, who reportedly stands at an impressive 5' 9".

In 2012, Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise, and Suri Cruise were swept up in what could only be called a media storm as the press continued to follow their every move in light of Cruise and Holmes' divorce news. However, the years that followed proved a calmer time for the newly reconfigured family. With Suri now living in New York full-time with her mother, the duo was dodging the camera less frequently and accepting more invitations to high-profile events.

In 2018, Katie and Suri attended the American Ballet Theatre's yearly Spring Gala, hosted in the Big Apple's Metropolitan Opera House. As she'd spent much of her earlier life dodging the paparazzi, it was a surprise to see the smiling 12-year-old by her mother's side. The twosome wore matching floral dresses, right on theme for the May event.

Katie donned a Tiffany blue Zac Posen dress that featured embossed blue floral details while Suri stunned in a blue Dolce & Gabbana dress, except her mini-version of the frock included red floral designs. Both mom and daughter wore cream-colored shoes; however, Suri took the prize for the greatest accessory of the night with her dainty flower crown. Side by side, the tween's height reached her mom's shoulders, proving she was on her way to becoming a tall teenager.

Tall and proud, Suri Cruise was photographed leaving a yoga class

As the years rolled on and the fervor over TomKat's demise died down, public sightings of Suri Cruise with her mother became an altogether more relaxed affair. In 2019, the pair were spotted strolling along New York's Upper West Side without a single security guard or chauffeur in sight. According to the Daily Mail , the mother-daughter duo had just attended a yoga class together, proving their close relationship wasn't just the stuff of tabloids.

The close pair wore matching athletic gear. Katie Holmes had her hair tied up in a loose bun with black yoga pants, and then-13-year-old Suri donned a pink T-shirt and galaxy-print yoga pants. The two walked off their yoga moves, jovially chatting in the sun and seemingly ignoring the paparazzi's cameras. As they walked side by side, it was hard not to notice just how tall the once-small infant had grown. Suri reached well past her mother's shoulders, and it seemed all signs were pointing to her growing taller than her famous mom.

Teenage Suri Cruise is almost all tall as her mom

Suri Cruise and her mom Katie Holmes were seen strolling the streets of New York City once more in the winter of 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, mother and daughter were both rocking face masks as they casually walked and talked together, each with a shopping bag under their arm, reportedly from the local boutique Scotch & Soda. Suri was the spitting image of her brunette mom, although her aesthetic was far more colorful.

The "Dawson's Creek" star rocked a pea-green coat and jeans while Suri wore a pastel blue bubble coat over a bright pink sweater. Most eye-catching of all, though, was how tall Suri had grown. Far from her tiny baby days and even her early tween years, the girl once dubbed "Hollywood's Hottest Tot" proved she was nearly a full-grown woman, standing at nearly the same height as her 5'9" mother. Will we see Suri strutting her stuff down the catwalk one day, like other celebrity daughters turned supermodels Kendall Jenner or Gigi Hadid ?
