Kementerian Pelancongan, Seni dan Budaya (Motac) membatalkan lesen syarikat Emraz Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd berkuat kuasa pada 11 Mac 2024.

Menurut kenyataan kementerian, tindakan itu selaras dengan perenggan 8(1)(b) dan (d) Akta Industri Pelancongan 1992.

Katanya, syarikat itu melanggar syarat lesen dan peruntukan akta serta menjalankan perniagaan mengikut cara yang “memudaratkan” kepentingan awam, industri pelancongan atau ekonomi negara.

Pada 2 April lepas, Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) menggantung lesen pengelola Jemaah Haji (PJH) Emraz Travel & Tours sebagai langkah awal melindungi kebajikan bakal jemaah haji susulan aduan awam berkenaan perkhidmatan umrahnya.

Pada 29 Nov lepas, media melaporkan pihak Polis Diraja Malaysia menerima sebanyak 399 laporan berhubung dakwaan kes penipuan pakej umrah melibatkan syarikat itu dengan kerugian dianggarkan bernilai RM14.2 juta sejak Januari 2023.

Pada 15 Jan, syarikat itu dan dua pengarahnya didakwa di Mahkamah Majistret di Putrajaya atas pertuduhan gagal mematuhi perintah award Tribunal Tuntutan Pengguna Malaysia (TTPM) supaya membayar balik tuntutan sebanyak RM589,031 kepada 21 mangsa, tahun lepas.

Syarikat itu yang diwakili pengarahnya Dr Zulkarnain Endut, 43, dan isterinya, Mazuin Mustafa, 43, selaku orang kena saman (OKS) mengaku tidak bersalah selepas pertuduhan dibacakan di hadapan Majistret Irza Zulaikha Rohanuddin.

Mengikut pertuduhan pertama hingga ke-63, syarikat itu, syarikat itu, Zulkarnain dan Mazuin sebagai OKS pertama, kedua dan ketiga masing-masing dituduh atas 21 pertuduhan gagal mematuhi award TTPM yang memerintahkan supaya membayar RM589,031 kepada 21 mangsa yang menuntut wang itu.

Kesalahan itu didkawa dilakukan di Pejabat TTPM di Putrajaya.

Pertuduhan mengikut Seksyen 117(1) Akta Perlindungan Pengguna 1999 itu membawa hukuman denda maksimum RM10,000 atau penjara maksimum dua tahun jika sabit kesalahan.

KOTA BHARU: The Magistrate's Court set Feb 13 to charge a company offering Umrah packages and two of its directors for 51 counts of fraud involving RM503,221.

Magistrate Ahmad Syafiq Aizat Nazri set the date after lawyer Ahmad Nizam Mohamed, representing the two directors, Datuk Zulkarnain Endut (43) and Datin Mazuin Mustafa (43), that his clients could not appear in court on Monday (Jan 22) as they were on sick leave.

Following this, the prosecution, conducted by deputy public prosecutors Mohd Sophian Zakaria (pic), Suhana Mohd and Shafiq Mahadi, requested a new date.

Mohd Sophian also informed the court that the prosecution was also informed about the absence of the two directors due to sick leave this morning.

"Since the case involves public interest and many victims, we request the new date to be soon,” he said, adding that the two directors, who are facing 51 charges, had been charged with 63 similar charges in Putrajaya. – Bernama
