Beyoncé Expands Formation World Tour

Beyoncé just embarked on the Formation World Tour , behind the newly released Lemonade . Now, just a few stops in, she's added even more dates. In September, there are new shows in Los Angeles, New Jersey, Houston, New Orleans, Santa Clara, Atlanta, and Philadelphia. She's also rescheduled her Nashville show for October; it was previously planned for today. See her new itinerary below.

DJ Khaled will open for Beyoncé at select dates on the Formation World Tour. Recently, following her show in Raleigh, North Carolina, Beyoncé spoke out against the state's anti-LGBTQ law , House Bill 2. A note on her website read, "it is important for us to bring attention to those who are committed to being good and carrying on the message of equality in this core of controversy."

Needless to say, the highlight of last night's gridiron game had absolutely nothing to do with football. Rather, it was  Beyoncé and Bruno Mars  that stole the show, delivering one the best halftime performances in recent memory, performing a live and direct mash-up of Bey's surprise weekend release "Formation" and Mars' smash hit "Uptown Funk." It was announced during the halftime show that Beyonce had revealed the dates for a summer world tour. And so, with a little assistance for the Bey Hive, we've compiled all of the  Formation World Tour  stops into one list for you anxious hearts. Beyonce’s Formation tour continues Monday (May 16) at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., and runs through October.

Beyonce Adds Formation Tour Dates for Fall

Due to popular demand, Beyoncé has added extra shows in North America to her Formation World Tour . The September and October dates will follow the European leg of her trek.

The eight extra stops will hit various southern and coastal cities, including Atlanta, Los Angeles and East Rutherford, New Jersey. The final date of the tour will now take place in Nashville on October 2nd, which is the make-up date for a recently postponed show in the city. Tickets for all performances will go on sale May 13th.

Beyoncé announced her Formation World Tour immediately after her performance at Super Bowl 50’s halftime show alongside Coldplay, Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson. The announcement came the day after she surprised fans with the single “ Formation .” Less than a week before launching the tour in Miami, the pop star debuted Lemonade , the visual album component, on HBO and then released the music as a Tidal exclusive for the weekend only before making it available on Apple Music, Spotify and other streaming services.

The launch of “Formation” was politically-charged, with Beyoncé shown on top of a sinking police car in New Orleans in the single’s official video and having her Super Bowl back-up dancers sporting outfits inspired by the Black Panthers. A failed anti-Beyoncé protest occurred outside NFL headquarters in New York and the Miami Police Union called for a boycott of her inaugural tour date in their city. In response, Beyoncé has sold “Boycott Beyoncé” shirts as part of her tour merchandise.

Beyoncé Announces 'The Formation World Tour'

Grab your coins. Fresh off her electrifying Super Bowl halftime performance with Coldplay and Bruno Mars, Beyoncé has announced “The Formation World Tour.”

The North American leg kicks off April 27 at Marlins Park in Miami, Fla. and travels to stadiums throughout the country including New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Philadelphia, Dallas, and more.

The European run will commence on June 28 in Sunderland, U.K. at Stadium of Light. Additional European stadium dates include London, Manchester, Zurich, Amsterdam, Paris, Milan, Stockholm, Frankfurt, and more.

“Formation,” named after her new single, marks her first tour since the six-week “On the Run Tour” with Jay Z, which stopped at major U.S. stadiums in summer 2014. Prior to that, she toured solo on 2013’s “Mrs. Carter Show World Tour,” which spanned two years and across five continents.

American Express card members can purchase tickets starting Feb. 9, with a general on-sale beginning Feb. 15 in Europe and Feb. 16 in North America.

Oklahoma City to Host Softball, Other Events for 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

As the world readies itself for this summer's Olympics in Paris, officials are already looking to the 2028 Games in Los Angeles.

On Friday, the Olympic organizing committee revealed that two events in '28 will be held in an unlikely location: Oklahoma City. Per a release , the IOC will stage softball and canoe slalom 1,300 miles away in Oklahoma's capital.

"These assignments are also in alignment with the IOC’s Olympic Agenda 2020+5 recommendation which emphasizes sustainability by encouraging the use of existing venues beyond the region of the host city," the organizing committee wrote. "Both the canoe slalom and softball venues in Oklahoma City are built to international competition standards, ensuring a high-quality experience for athletes and fans."

The Olympics have received substantial criticism over the years for encouraging the construction of event venues that have quickly fallen into disuse .

That is unlikely to be a problem in Oklahoma City, the traditional home of the Women's College World Series.

The Pacific Airshow has announced its performer lineup when it hits Huntington Beach Oct. 4 through 6.

The lineup boasts the largest number of performers in event history, according to organizers. Along with the previously announced headlining U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and fan-favorite F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team, the show will be the site of the last performance ever for the U.S. Air Force A-10 Demo Team.

Others slated to perform include the Zapata Flyboard and Air Scooter demo, stuntman Jack Strong, the Horseman three-ship P-51 Mustang Demo, and U.S. Navy Leap Frogs.

Tickets are on sale now at pacificairshow.com , with general admission, pier seating, premiere club, private chalet and cabana options available.

Candidates to address Newport Beach Women’s Democratic Club

In addition to a live stream of the first 2024 presidential debate, the June 27 meeting of the Newport Beach Women’s Democratic Club will feature candidates vying for seats in various local elections.

Featured guests are Costa Mesa City Council candidates John Stephens, Jeffrey Harlan and Loren Gameros, who currently serve as mayor, mayor pro tem and councilwoman, respectively. Also attending are Miles Patricola, Newport Beach City Council candidate for District 7 and Carol Crane, the current president of the Newport Mesa Unified School District Board who is seeking another term.

The club meets at OASIS Senior Center, 801 Narcissus Ave., Corona del Mar. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the debate live stream starting at 6 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Registration is required and can be made at NBWDC.org .

Newport Beach round table discussion on fentanyl

Newport Beach Mayor Will O’Neill, in coordination with the Newport Beach Foundation and Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes, will host an educational discussion on fentanyl at the Newport Beach Civic Community Room on Monday, June 24 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The talk will focus on data on overdoses in the community, efforts by local law enforcement to curb drug usage and information on Narcan and other programs.

The Civic Center is located at 100 Civic Center Drive.

Tickets still on sale for July 3rd Pageant of the Masters show

The Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce announced this week tickets were going fast for the final dress rehearsal for the Pageant of the Masters on July 3.

Guests will be given a sneak peek at “À La Mode: The Art of Fashion.”

Vanguard University’s Lyceum Theater hosts murder mystery through June 30

The American Coast Theater presents the murder mystery “An Inspector Calls” at Vanguard University’s Lyceum Theater in Costa Mesa, with shows running through June 30.

Written by British novelist John Boynton Priestley in 1944, and directed by Connor Berkompas, the reimagined thriller sets off as a mysterious “Inspector” unexpectedly arrives at the prosperous Birling family home, and a celebratory dinner is shattered by his investigations into the death of a young woman.

A suspense-filled investigation forces family members to reexamine their responsibilities to the outside world and each other in the popular “drawing room” murder mystery.

‘Camelot’ comes to Laguna Playhouse

A transfer production from North Coast Repertory Theatre of Lerner & Lowe’s “Camelot” opens next week at Laguna Playhouse. It will feature new orchestrations by Steve Orich, musical direction by Daniel Lincoln and choreography by Jill Gorrie Rovatsos. Jeffrey B. Moss is director.

Previews are July 24 through 27. Opening night is Sunday, July 28 at 5:30 p.m. and performances will run through Sunday, Aug. 11.
