Brilliant safari experience with Rainbow Tours

Rainbow Tours did a great job for us, from the planning & info beforehand to every minute detail whilst we were in Malawi - the whole holiday ran like clockwork with no hitches. The lodges were all superb - lovely comfortable rooms, great food and wonderful staff/guides. Dream Tours did the transfers and were timely, efficient and friendly. The replacement lodge, due to Kuthengo camp being underwater, was really great so no complaints there.

Just returned from Belize

Just returned from Belize. The holiday was fabulous, well organised, everything we expected and more... Kerry at Rainbow was efficient, friendly and knew what we wanted, the staff at Viaventure in Belize were especially helpful, particularly our driver Julien. All of the team at Laminai Outpost, Black Rock Lodge and Xanadu in San Pedro couldnt have been more accommodating. Would highly recommend.

Rainbow tours did an excellent job

Rainbow tours did an excellent job managing the unexpected. When domestic flights were canceled, alternative plans in transportation were facilitated. They did a good job addressing our original adventure needs and expectations. Madagascar is a poor country with very limited infrastructure. Travel there demands flexibility. Rainbow tours with their local representatives and agents did a good job, ensuring that this trip fulfilled our wishes.

Nervous at first but had a perfect holiday!!

Honestly I was a little bit sceptical about using Rainbow Tours for our holiday to Madagascar, as we had not heard of them and didn’t know anyone who had used them. However, I have absolutely nothing negative to say whatsoever and would now wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone. Derek was very helpful right from the start, and adjusted the trip based on our budget (which was a bit tight!) and certain things we specifically wanted to do. In the lead up to the holiday, RT were responsive and proactive, letting us know about any changes or info we needed. From the moment we arrived at the airport, everything ran like clockwork. Zero issues with transfers, the guides were delightful, and we both felt very relaxed trusting the timetable and just going along with the plan, rather than feeling stressed about catching boats/flights on time! Thanks to RT we were able to have the holiday of a lifetime and didn’t need to lift a finger in any of the planning. I really, really can’t recommend them enough. We used a different well-known travel agency for our honeymoon a few years ago, and had a few hiccups (like they didn’t know about some of the new COVID forms needed to travel at that time, meaning we very almost weren’t allowed on the plane…)! By comparison, the process with RT was a breeze and we will use them again next time we are planning a big trip! Thank you so much to Derek and the team :)

Just returned from Rwanda and Uganda

Just returned from Rwanda and Uganda, Craig organised a fantastic itinerary and coped with last minute changes caused by foreign office restrictions and a medical issue I had. Remmy my driver guide was excellent and helped me with any issues whilst travelling. I’m already looking forward to my trip to Madagascar with rainbow later this year

Amazing Botswana

Shelley suggested a couple of loactions for my interest in nature photography and both were amazing in their own ways. I experienced a lodge in Chobe and a camp in Moremi. The service at both was first class and logistics of getting between locations by very small plane was smooth and efficient (with great views). The range of wildlife on display was fantastic - every game drive or boat trip provided unique memories. Would highly recommend.

Travel to Ecuador/Galapagos

Travel to Ecuador/Galapagos Rainbow built an ideal programme which reflected perfectly my wishes. Local agents and contacts in Ecuador were efficient, had excellent communucation and everything on a four centre holiday went smoothly and without a hitch. Local guides were outstanding in every respect and accommodations in all centres were if high quality and exactly as described. This trip of a lifetime was excellent value for money and I highly recommend Rainbow Tours for their attention to detail.

Fantastic Personal Service and Bespoke Off the Beaten Track Itinerary.

Personal and flexible service providing great experiences off the usual tourist routes. They listened to what we wanted and exceeded that in every respect. As a result we had the most amazing time ever and are already planning a return. Never a day went by where we were not experiencing something new. Starting with trekking and Rock Art in Drakensberg, and 4X4 up Sani Pass to Lesotho, based at Sani Valley Lodges which we did not do justice to, with its fantastic accommodation and food as well as trout fishing... we have to return there. Then Umkhumbi was home from home, and the characters there that looked after us were brilliant. An excellent base for a variety of foot, vehicle and boat safari. Then Kosi Bay and the team there were blissful, for a spot of kayaking, snorkelling and even spear fishing. We drove everywhere we went, and that independence was essential to the overall positive vibe. We certainly would not have had the confidence to arrange that alone for our first trip to the area with children, without the support of the Rainbow team in setting it all up and as back-up should there be any issues. Apart from lost luggage on the flight out, there were none. All locals we met out and about, in restaurants and at safari locations were friendly and happy to meet you. We were slightly off the usual tourist areas. The roads, pot-holes, cattle, people, erratic driving, dirt and gravel tracks, might not have been to every-ones taste, but all became just part of the charm. Oh, and a very big thank you for the choice of vehicle. Had we gone it alone we would have made a school-boy error on that front. The Fortuner was perfect and totally necessary with the diff-lock coming in handy at Kosi Bay .

Amazing holiday

Sarah arranged an amazing 3 centre trip of Brazil. First time to South America and it was beyond our expectations. We also had to move the holiday last minute due to personal reasons and Sarah was amazing at doing this. Iguazo Falls - breathtaking. Rio - safe city with lots to see and do Buzios - beautiful and relaxing. We would recommend Rainbow Tours and South America!

Safari in South Africa and Mauritius

Always had a positive experience with Rainbow

As on previous trips, we found Jack very helpful in planning an itinerary to suit us and happy to keep making tweaks until we got it right. We had a great time in Mexico and enjoyed all the places we visited. With hindsight we might have done a few things a little differently but on the whole the itinerary worked very well. And we appreciated the refund offered when one tour didn't live up to expectations (not Rainbow's fault, I hasten to say).

An excellent holiday to Panamá

Can’t wait to return to Africa

Just returned from an amazing 23 day trip to Africa put together by Shelley from Rainbow tours. The whole trip involved 10 flights and visiting 4 countries. Apart from one or two very minor issues the trip went like clockwork allowing us to enjoy this wonderful continent. Great birding trip to Belize and Guatemala

Jack Brooker at Rainbow Tours put together a wonderful trip for my sister and me to Belize and Guatemala. He was very good at adapting the itinerary to our interests and chose excellent land agents to look after us. We had two great guides, the accommodation was not only comfortable, but also in good locations for birding and all travel arrangements worked perfectly. We highly recommend Belize and Rainbow Tours.

Cape Town & The Garden Route

We asked Rainbow to organise our trip to South Africa based on 5-star accommodation. Nikki did just that! The hotels we stayed in were 5-star plus and the two Guest Houses were also exceptional. If you go to Cape Town please do not settle for less than The Table Bay Hotel. Eating a sumptuous breakfast overlooking the harbour and Table Bay Mountain will stay long in the memory. Our desire to see the Rockies was put into the background by the stunning scenery around Franschhoek and the subsequent drive to Knysna along Route 62 - beautiful. St James at Knysna is verging on a 6-star rating and the boat trip in their launch on the lake with a wonderful picnic lunch was stunning. Our safari at the Pumba Game Reserve was so good - we managed to see all the Big 5 thanks to our learned guide Hedman. The highlight of a stunning and unforgettable holiday. Thank you Rainbow and in particular our heartfelt thanks to Nikki whose flawless organisation made sure we could really enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

An absolutely fantastic trip…

Our trip was absolutely fantastic and our experience with Rainbow Tours was excellent. Craig clearly knows Kenya and was able to share great insights and suggestions on how to maximise our time. He spent time seeking to understand the type of trip, lodges, hotels and experiences that would appeal to us. It was time well spent as Sands at Chale is the best hotel we have stayed in. Perfect for relaxing, yet options for the more active. Fully inclusive was well worth it. Elerai Lodge was also a fantastic experience to see the animals Thanks Craig and the team.

Safari Tour

I booked my Safari in Rwanda and Uganda with Craig at Rainbow. Craig knows these countries well and had us prepared for the best possible experience. He was very communicative throughout the process. Helped me make changes to the itinerary and was flexible and easy to work with. He was available throughout the tour for any concerns or problems we encountered ( which were very few). My trip was AMAZING. I will use Rainbow for more adventures going forward. The safari company on the ground was Nkuringo Safaris and they were fantastic to work with. Our guide Remmy was so knowledgeable, kind and patient. He gave us the best possible experience on Safari and he felt like family. I actually cried when I had to say goodbye.

Amazing Holiday

Just returned from an amazing visit to Madagascar. Many wonderful sights, including lemurs, reptiles, birds and many native plants. The drivers and guides were so friendly and very knowledgeable especially the guides. Rainbow tours were very helpful and even added to my itinerary as I asked about the ayes ayes. We stayed in some interesting places, really well looked after. There were long drives between locations which were somewhat tiring, and although some of the roads are being upgraded, in general the ones we travelled were as bad as expected. Overall a special experience, a life long dream of mine. Will defo be returning.

First trip to Africa

This was our first trip to Africa and we needed guidance and help in choosing where we should go and what our itinerary should look like. From first contact to last minute questions Craig Kaufman at Rainbow Tours was invaluable. A real trusted advisor. Friendly and helpful. And very responsive. Everything was brilliant. 5 different locations in Tanzania as we travelled East to West from Arusha to the Central Serengeti with our brilliant driver/guide on hand throughout. Everything you want and need from a travel consultant/consultancy. We have already started thinking about our next trip and will be using Rainbow Tours to help suggest options and organise for us.

Guyana . August/Sept 2022. Kristen (and Jack) organised a wonderful trip to Guyana, a remote part of the world but my homeland where I was taking my Scottish family to see my roots! The organisation was out of this world especially as the lodges were accessed only by river or very pot-holed road. The guides were ace and the wildlife terrific, despite the high waters due to climate change. Can't give Rainbow enough stars!

Peru adventure

Just returned from a fabulous holiday in Peru organised by Sarah Frankish. It was very well organised and we felt looked after and safe at all times. This was an amazing experience especially the Inca trail and all guides were very knowledgeable. We would definitely use Rainbow tours again.

Superbly organised trip of a lifetime

I called Rainbow Tours whilst in the middle of chemo. I wanted something for myself and family to look forward to. The wonderful Shelley organised a safari in South Africa (Mhondoro was out of this world), followed by a relaxed and family friendly beach break in Mauritius. The whole experience was wonderful. Having someone take the strain and organise it all has been a revelation- I’m usually the one who books flights/car/accommodation and there’s always an element of stress. Not this time! Thank you Shelley for a truly incredible trip.

Amazing care throughout our holiday

This was out third trip with Rainbow Tours who are very easy to work with. Planning the trip through Sarah Frankish was interesting and fun, and during the trip we were kept in constant contact with reminders of our pick up times, excursions etc. When we encountered a problem with the cancellation of our next flight due to a general strike in Argentina, it could have been disastrous. Sarah phoned early in the morning to advise us of the situation, at which point we had no hotel booking for that night as our next hotel was hundreds of miles away with no onward transport available. We felt confident that Rainbow and Sarah would fix things and they did. We were advised to return to Chile with the help of the companies on the ground in Argentina and Chile. By the end of the day we had been driven to a very acceptable Argentinian hotel for the night, were booked onto the last two available places on a bus back to Chile next morning, and had the rest of our itinerary changed to explore more of Chile instead of continuing in Argentina, which was impossible at that time anyway. We really enjoyed the entire holiday as Sarah took responsibility for everything down to the last detail. It was idiot proof. Thanks Sarah. Five stars very well earned

USA to Madagascar trip

Excellent tour company that had us covered from beginning to end for trip to Madagascar from the USA. Guides all excellent, as was the itinerary. Our travel manager, Derek Schuurman, was very receptive to our needs, even responding to my emails when he was off-duty, and remembered the details of our requests, even thought we were not his only clients.

Fantastic Few Weeks in Costa Rica and Guatemala

South Africa. Safari/ city break. Superb, professional, faultless.

From the moment of our initial enquiry we received nothing but professional, friendly and extremely helpful advice from Shelley. We sourced our flights to and from South Africa but all internal flights, accommodation and car hire were dealt with by the team. There was never any hitch. All went so smoothly from being met at the airport to transfers and car hire. If Rainbow said it would happen it did. Our safari lodge at Kariega Main lodge was quite literally a dream come true for our family. In particular they recommended the Blackheath Lodge in Cape Town which was superb in every way. We certainly would not hesitate to use Rainbow again and to recommend to our friends

Fantastic Holiday

We have just returned from Costa Rica. Our holiday was fantastic - from our first contact with Rainbow we were impressed with the way they listened to what we wanted and then came up with suggestions. The final itinerary was perfect! There were a couple of small hiccups while we were away - no fault of Rainbow. This was dealt with promptly and efficiently! Special thanks to Jack for his expertise!

A wonderful tour which was enhanced by by the talks included. They increased my understanding of the issues of wildlife’s co-existence with the people surrounding the Parks/Reserves. The wildlife was outstanding and the lodges were all comfy, the food good and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our driver was one in a million - kind, incredibly knowledgeable and a brilliant fixer. My contact from Rainbow Tours was endlessly patient in sorting out pre tour hitches for me and his enthusiasm encouraged me to book the tour in the first place.

Class South African fly drive experience

We had a 2 week fly drive in South Africa, organised by Rainbow Tours. Everything went really well. The information before travelling was comprehensive and easy to understand. Driving instructions for the trip showed that they had actually done the drives and knew what they were talking about. Quality of accommodation was first class. This was a holiday of a lifetime and really felt like it. Thank you to Shelley, the South African specialist who pulled all the information together for us.

Trip of a lifetime

Our trip to South America, the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia & the Falkland Islands arranged by Rainbow Tours UK vastly exceed expectations. The ground services provided by H &T in South America were excellent. Hotels, excursions, guides, transport were all of the highest standard. The expedition cruise provided by Oceanwide could not be faulted and we were blessed with very good weather. Botswana - a little piece of magic

I was heading to Botswana for work and wanted to stay on for a few days to go on safari. I knew nothing! I was lucky enough to have Janine answer my call for help and she organised the most wonderful trip. I am certain she'd arranged the Big 5 in the first two days - it is within her skill set! Botswana is a little piece of African Magic... I was travelling on my own and never felt safer! Namibia here I come!

Family trip around Costa Rica

We're just back from a wonderful trip around Costa Rica expertly organised by Kristen and Jack at Rainbow Tours. Delayed by two years but we got there in the end. We would certainly recommend a visit to this welcoming country. We had excellent tours and guides to experience the sights with the varied landscapes and wildlife. All hotels and service were first class. Transfers between the hotels went smoothly. Many highlights - climbs up volcanoes and tumbling waterfalls; hummingbirds & parrots, sloths & monkeys, iguanas & crocodiles and not forgetting tarantulas on the night walk; boat trips in the tropical rains, canopy walks & zipwires, coffee & cocktails; the pools & beaches. We're now wondering about our next trip with Rainbow, perhaps back to Costa Rica or elsewhere.

Amazing customer service

Just got back from an amazing holiday in Zambia. Rainbow Tours organised it and nothing was too much trouble. Great communication from them all the way we even emailed with a slight problem that was answered almost straight away. Do not hesitate to use this company their customer service is amazing. Brilliant safari experience with Rainbow Tours

Rainbow Tours did a great job for us, from the planning & info beforehand to every minute detail whilst we were in Malawi - the whole holiday ran like clockwork with no hitches. The lodges were all superb - lovely comfortable rooms, great food and wonderful staff/guides. Dream Tours did the transfers and were timely, efficient and friendly. The replacement lodge, due to Kuthengo camp being underwater, was really great so no complaints there.

Just returned from Belize

Just returned from Belize. The holiday was fabulous, well organised, everything we expected and more... Kerry at Rainbow was efficient, friendly and knew what we wanted, the staff at Viaventure in Belize were especially helpful, particularly our driver Julien. All of the team at Laminai Outpost, Black Rock Lodge and Xanadu in San Pedro couldnt have been more accommodating. Would highly recommend.

Rainbow tours did an excellent job

Rainbow tours did an excellent job managing the unexpected. When domestic flights were canceled, alternative plans in transportation were facilitated. They did a good job addressing our original adventure needs and expectations. Madagascar is a poor country with very limited infrastructure. Travel there demands flexibility. Rainbow tours with their local representatives and agents did a good job, ensuring that this trip fulfilled our wishes.

Nervous at first but had a perfect holiday!!

Honestly I was a little bit sceptical about using Rainbow Tours for our holiday to Madagascar, as we had not heard of them and didn’t know anyone who had used them. However, I have absolutely nothing negative to say whatsoever and would now wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone. Derek was very helpful right from the start, and adjusted the trip based on our budget (which was a bit tight!) and certain things we specifically wanted to do. In the lead up to the holiday, RT were responsive and proactive, letting us know about any changes or info we needed. From the moment we arrived at the airport, everything ran like clockwork. Zero issues with transfers, the guides were delightful, and we both felt very relaxed trusting the timetable and just going along with the plan, rather than feeling stressed about catching boats/flights on time! Thanks to RT we were able to have the holiday of a lifetime and didn’t need to lift a finger in any of the planning. I really, really can’t recommend them enough. We used a different well-known travel agency for our honeymoon a few years ago, and had a few hiccups (like they didn’t know about some of the new COVID forms needed to travel at that time, meaning we very almost weren’t allowed on the plane…)! By comparison, the process with RT was a breeze and we will use them again next time we are planning a big trip! Thank you so much to Derek and the team :)

Just returned from Rwanda and Uganda, Craig organised a fantastic itinerary and coped with last minute changes caused by foreign office restrictions and a medical issue I had. Amazing Botswana

Shelley suggested a couple of loactions for my interest in nature photography and both were amazing in their own ways. I experienced a lodge in Chobe and a camp in Moremi. The service at both was first class and logistics of getting between locations by very small plane was smooth and efficient (with great views). The range of wildlife on display was fantastic - every game drive or boat trip provided unique memories. Would highly recommend.

Travel to Ecuador/Galapagos

Travel to Ecuador/Galapagos Rainbow built an ideal programme which reflected perfectly my wishes. Local agents and contacts in Ecuador were efficient, had excellent communucation and everything on a four centre holiday went smoothly and without a hitch. Local guides were outstanding in every respect and accommodations in all centres were if high quality and exactly as described. Fantastic Personal Service and Bespoke Off the Beaten Track Itinerary.

Personal and flexible service providing great experiences off the usual tourist routes. They listened to what we wanted and exceeded that in every respect. As a result we had the most amazing time ever and are already planning a return. Never a day went by where we were not experiencing something new. Starting with trekking and Rock Art in Drakensberg, and 4X4 up Sani Pass to Lesotho, based at Sani Valley Lodges which we did not do justice to, with its fantastic accommodation and food as well as trout fishing... we have to return there. Then Umkhumbi was home from home, and the characters there that looked after us were brilliant. An excellent base for a variety of foot, vehicle and boat safari. Then Kosi Bay and the team there were blissful, for a spot of kayaking, snorkelling and even spear fishing. We drove everywhere we went, and that independence was essential to the overall positive vibe. We certainly would not have had the confidence to arrange that alone for our first trip to the area with children, without the support of the Rainbow team in setting it all up and as back-up should there be any issues. Apart from lost luggage on the flight out, there were none. All locals we met out and about, in restaurants and at safari locations were friendly and happy to meet you. We were slightly off the usual tourist areas. The roads, pot-holes, cattle, people, erratic driving, dirt and gravel tracks, might not have been to every-ones taste, but all became just part of the charm. Oh, and a very big thank you for the choice of vehicle. Had we gone it alone we would have made a school-boy error on that front. The Fortuner was perfect and totally necessary with the diff-lock coming in handy at Kosi Bay .

Amazing holiday

Sarah arranged an amazing 3 centre trip of Brazil. First time to South America and it was beyond our expectations. We also had to move the holiday last minute due to personal reasons and Sarah was amazing at doing this. Iguazo Falls - breathtaking. Rio - safe city with lots to see and do Buzios - beautiful and relaxing. We would recommend Rainbow Tours and South America!

Always had a positive experience with Rainbow

As on previous trips, we found Jack very helpful in planning an itinerary to suit us and happy to keep making tweaks until we got it right. We had a great time in Mexico and enjoyed all the places we visited. With hindsight we might have done a few things a little differently but on the whole the itinerary worked very well. And we appreciated the refund offered when one tour didn't live up to expectations (not Rainbow's fault, I hasten to say).

Can’t wait to return to Africa

Great birding trip to Belize and Guatemala

Jack Brooker at Rainbow Tours put together a wonderful trip for my sister and me to Belize and Guatemala. He was very good at adapting the itinerary to our interests and chose excellent land agents to look after us. We had two great guides, the accommodation was not only comfortable, but also in good locations for birding and all travel arrangements worked perfectly. Cape Town & The Garden Route

We asked Rainbow to organise our trip to South Africa based on 5-star accommodation. Nikki did just that! The hotels we stayed in were 5-star plus and the two Guest Houses were also exceptional. If you go to Cape Town please do not settle for less than The Table Bay Hotel. Eating a sumptuous breakfast overlooking the harbour and Table Bay Mountain will stay long in the memory. Our desire to see the Rockies was put into the background by the stunning scenery around Franschhoek and the subsequent drive to Knysna along Route 62 - beautiful. St James at Knysna is verging on a 6-star rating and the boat trip in their launch on the lake with a wonderful picnic lunch was stunning. Our safari at the Pumba Game Reserve was so good - we managed to see all the Big 5 thanks to our learned guide Hedman. The highlight of a stunning and unforgettable holiday. Thank you Rainbow and in particular our heartfelt thanks to Nikki whose flawless organisation made sure we could really enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

An absolutely fantastic trip…

Our trip was absolutely fantastic and our experience with Rainbow Tours was excellent. Craig clearly knows Kenya and was able to share great insights and suggestions on how to maximise our time. He spent time seeking to understand the type of trip, lodges, hotels and experiences that would appeal to us. It was time well spent as Sands at Chale is the best hotel we have stayed in.
