Road Trip is a six piece rock and roll band based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Road Trip was formed in 1990 and has since played throughout the Midwest, including Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and Michigan. This experience has helped Road Trip amass a fan-based mailing list of over 5000 people. Their mailing list ensures a good crowd at each of the band's approximately 135 shows a year. Besides playing clubs, Road Trip has played many major festivals and opened for several national acts such as: Sheryl Crow, ZZ Top, REO Speedwagon, Ted Nugent, Molly Hatchet, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner and Reel Big Fish. Road Trip has developed a huge regional following by mastering the two key elements of rock and roll: diversity and energy. Road Trip's musical diversity is made evident by their extensive song list. Their cover songs encompass music from the birth of rock and roll in the fifties right up to the best music of today. This diversity can also be heard in the band's original material found on their new disc Cowboys and Maniacs, as well as their two previous releases Chameleon Gumbo and Live at the Route (the earlier releases are both sold out). The variety of material performed is greatly enhanced by having both a male and a female lead vocalist: Rich Plath and Amy Johnson. Road Trip is also in a class by itself when it comes to the energy of each performance. Continuous touring has made these musicians more comfortable on stage than anywhere else, they have a great time when they're performing and that energy becomes infectious. Every member of Road Trip is a consummate professional and the integrity of the music is never compromised, when you watch Road Trip the fun and energy coming off stage are complimented by some of the Midwest's finest music being performed by some of the Midwest's finest musicians - there are no weak links in this band. In addition, the unexpected is always possible as the members all believe in letting their creative spontaneity show through. Their down-to-earth attitude is never phony, and the members love to mingle with the crowd during breaks meeting new people and making new fans and friends. Road Trip: Playing music of the past with the energy of the present and writing songs for the future.

Road Trip – Eagle River, WI – July 16, 2022

Road Trip is much more than your average cover band from Wisconsin!

This band puts on a real life concert with huge video screens, one of the best light shows, state of the art sound and dedicated musicians and singers who love what they do and it shows.  Lights, video, sounds, smoke, dancing and screaming fans create one of the greatest shows in the Midwest!

Award winning vocalists Christopher Joseph Szebeni and Amy Jo Doty lead the band through a 3+-hour show filled with songs from everyone’s favorite artists.  Pink, U2, Chris Stapleton, The Romantics, Katy Perry, Kid Rock, Maroon 5, Ozzy,  Keith Urban and Guns and Roses are just a few of the bands Road Trip brings to life.

The music behind the vocals includes Jason Busse on lead guitar, DJ Doty on rhythm guitar, Robert George Welsch Jr. on bass and Matt Gieseke on drums.  These musicians take playing their instruments and performing very seriously. They not only learn the songs but they create new sounds and segues to keep the audience moving, surprised and wanting more.   Every show they give 100% of themselves to their fans and to the music.  They want every person to experience the party that the band is throwing;  loud, wild, exciting, surprising, real and up-close!

Road Trip loves their music and they love their audience just as much.  Their audiences are from all over and range from 5 years old to 85 years old.  They aim to please all of them while enjoying some of the best music in the world.  At a Road Trip show you will see a lot of dancing, smiling, laughing and letting loose.  Weddings, festivals, company parties, bars, dance clubs and other private parties are where you will find the band bringing people together one song at a time.

Road Trip has won many awards throughout the years for Cover Band of the year a few times and Female and Male Vocalist of the year.  Not to mention they have been nominated in at least one category every year for the Wisconsin Area Music Industry Awards (WAMI).  Both the drummer and lead guitarist won music teacher of the year by Heid Music and WAMI.

2017 and 2018 were huge growing years for Road Trip.  They introduced their new state of the art light show and sound system in late 2017, and in 2018 Chris Szebeni from Boxkar joined as their new male lead singer.  They also continue creating new videos and adding new music to their set lists on a consistent basis, keeping their shows fresh and full of energy.

Road Trip is a band that brings people together, to help them forget about their daily lives, and to get caught up in the moment.  The band members are some of the most dedicated, approachable, serious, creative, real people in the music business today.  Their band is not just a hobby to them, it is their life, their passion, their craft and they don’t plan on stopping in this lifetime!

Road Trip Band

Road Trip is all about capturing their audiences, reaching out to the world, and showing them how to relax and have a wonderful time regardless of how difficult life can be. They love playing other artists' music as well as their own. They added 10 large video screens to their show, with all original videos playing on stage with the videos during the show. Each video was created by Road Trip to move with each song. The band now takes their audiences on an all-night journey with their eyes, ears, mind, and emotions. The band is continually recreating itself. They are always looking for the next best thing they can do to enhance the live performances. This year Road Trip is focusing on recording an alive DVD that includes interviews with the members of Road Trip and live performances of their favorite cover songs. It will be a documentary of what the band has been through and accomplished over the many exciting years together mixed with high energy, live rock, and roll! love life, rock.
