Sir Rod will charm South Island fans with his spectacular shows at Forsyth Barr Stadium and the renowned Mission Estate Winery in Hawke’s Bay. The 2023 tour promises show-stopping classics and new hits delivered in his unmissable and captivating style. 

As one of the best-selling artists of all time, Sir Road has sold an estimated 250 million records and singles worldwide. All his fans can look forward to experiencing his performance of fan favourites from across his career and the first live performance of tracks from his current album,  THE TEARS OF HERCULES .

The time you join the Waiting Room does not determine your place in the Smart Queue, so we recommend joining at least 10 minutes prior to the event going on sale.

When the sale begins, the Smart Queue will open and everyone in the Waiting Room is given a place in line. Those who did not join the Waiting Room will be placed at the end of the line.

Rod Stewart to perform two New Zealand dates with Cyndi Lauper in 2023

Sir Rod Stewart is to return to New Zealand for a two-date tour of Dunedin and Hawke's Bay in 2023 that will see him reunite with '80s icon Cyndi Lauper.

The duo, who have toured the US together, will play the Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin on Wednesday, April 5 before playing the Mission Estate Winery in Hawke’s Bay on Saturday, April 8.

In a statement, Stewart said it had been "far too long" since he had taken the stage in Aotearoa.

"I'm so excited to return to your heart-stoppingly beautiful country.

"It's been far too long since I performed there and I'm eager to celebrate being back with my Kiwi fans on my last major rock tour of New Zealand. And, with Cyndi Lauper on board, it's going to be quite a bash!"

Stewart had promised to play a two-hour set which would take in all the hits from his career, while Lauper is expected to play for an hour.

General public tickets go on sale at 11am on Friday, November 25. 

The shows are at the same venues and exactly one year after Sir Rod had been planning to play New Zealand.

He had been due to play in Dunedin and Hawke's Bay in April this year but in January 2022, he announced that due to COVID-19 border restrictions he had been forced to cancel.

"My dear friends, once again I feel we've all been cheated by this evil disease, so it is with great regret that I announce my shows for 2022 have had to be cancelled.

"My thoughts are with all your families at this difficult time as we come out of the joyous and hopefully safe holiday season and I look forward to returning to New Zealand as soon as the health situation permits.

"I'm absolutely gutted with disappointment and when I do eventually get there we'll have the party to end all parties. Guaranteed!"

Covid-19 outbreak: Rod Stewart cancels New Zealand concert dates for April

Sir Rod Stewart has canned his upcoming Aotearoa tour due to ongoing travel restrictions amid the influx of Covid-19 cases due to the Omicron variant.

He was scheduled to play three shows as part of his 'The Hits!' tour, two in Hawke's Bay and one in Dunedin this April. The dates will not go ahead due to the ongoing border restrictions for international visitors until after April 30.

Stewart said in a statement: "My dear friends, once again I feel we've all been cheated by this evil disease, so it is with great regret that I announce my shows for 2022 have had to be cancelled.

"My thoughts are with all your families at this difficult time as we come out of the joyous and hopefully safe holiday season and I look forward to returning to New Zealand as soon as the health situation permits.

"I'm absolutely gutted with disappointment and when I do eventually get there we'll have the party to end all parties. Guaranteed!"

The cancellation is another blow for the country's live music and events industry after ongoing uncertainty has forced cancellations of summer music festivals including Northern Bass and the annual Summer Concert Tour.

What ticketholders need to know

Promoters say ticketholders for the Dunedin performance should contact their original authorised point of purchase for a full refund, within 30 days from notification.

Customers who received their tickets in another way, including through Ticket Forward are advised to contact the original ticket buyer for a refund.

For those who bought tickets to the rocker's Mission Estate Winery concerts in Hawkes Bay, automated refunds will be issued to the purchasing credit card. If this is not successful, ticketholders will be contacted to arrange a refund via bank transfer.

Your mum’s favourite singer-slash-knight, Sir Rod Stewart, is coming down under for a huge Australian tour in 2023, supported by some fellow music icons. Sir Rod will be joined by Cyndi Lauper and Australia’s own Jon Stevens (Noiseworks) for a string of arena-sized dates across the country, plus a trio of shows for A Day On The Green, taking place at destination wineries in Geelong (VIC) Mount Cotton (QLD) and Bowral (NSW).

The tour will also see the ‘Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?’ singer perform a massive 2-hour set from his vast catalogue of hits, while Lauper will take the stage for an hour, playing all of her most-loved songs as well.

The tour will also take in stops in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and the NSW Hunter Valley.

Rod Stewart announces NZ Tour with special guest Cyndi Lauper

Rod Stewart has today announced he will hit the road in 2023 performing two massive New Zealand shows. Following the incredible success and rave reviews for their U.S. tours in 2017 and 2018, Stewart has invited the incomparable  Cyndi Lauper  to join him as the tour’s special guest. 

Continuing his iconic reign, Rod Stewart will charm South Island fans with his spectacular show at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin on Wednesday, April 5. Stewart also performs at the renowned Mission Estate Winery in Hawke’s Bay on Saturday, April 8.

“I’m so excited to return to your heart-stoppingly beautiful country. It’s been far too long since I performed there and I’m eager to celebrate being back with my Kiwi fans on my last major rock tour of New Zealand. And, with Cyndi Lauper on board, it’s going to be quite a bash!”

Stevens grew up listening to Sir Rod Stewart, and his 2011 album  Testify!  included a cover of ‘Open To Ideas’, co-written by Rod Stewart and one of the last songs the Faces recorded.

Sir Rod Stewart   has today announced he will hit the road in 2023 on a massive Australian Tour with support from very special guests   Cyndi Lauper and Jon Stevens . 

Continuing his iconic reign, Sir Rod Stewart will perform a string of headline shows, kicking off in Perth on March 11, 2023 with additional stops in Melbourne, Geelong, Adelaide, Mount Cotton, Sydney, Hunter Valley and concluding at Centennial Vineyards in Bowral on April 2.

Sir Rod Stewart will perform a massive 2 hour set from his vast catalogue of hits, whilst Cyndi Lauper will take the stage for an hour playing all of her most loved songs. Opening for all shows on the tour is acclaimed rock singer Jon Stevens.

General public tickets go on sale on Thursday, November 17 at 1:00pm.
