Family holiday to New York

We had a brilliant visit 2 New York booked with Voyage Privé, everything was so easy from downloading the air company app, online check in, hotel request for two rooms side by side - will definitely use these guys again! I tried to DIY the exact same holiday and couldn’t get it anywhere near the price that Voyage Privé were able to!

Potluck but always a winner

Useful information readily to hand, interesting destinations and reasonable prices. My last adventure to Barga in Italy turned out to be the best holiday I have ever had in Europe. Great place, great town, great staff and very reasonable. Tout est bien et Pas cher!

Unsubscribe impossible

I inadvertently gave my email address to this company when viewing their offers and then was bombarded with unsolicited emails. I was unable to unsubscribe without setting up an account I didn’t want and hadn’t signed up for. It’s unethical and should be illegal for a company to not enable you to unsubscribe easily from their emails. I only looked at the offers because I was drawn in by a holiday advertised as £400 per person. But when I entered my details I found that as a single person I would be charged more than double, in spite of only using one of two flights and only half the meals. I get that you have to pay double to use a room meant for two people. But I shouldn’t have to pay for an unused flight and uneaten meals.

A beautiful trip to Venice

I recently took my granddaughter to Venice booking everything through Voyage Prive. This was the 4th time I have used this company. The website and app are both easy to use. Everything is well planned and organised. Paperwork is clear. Contact numbers for emergencies are provided before you leave. I am about to use Voyage Prive for the 5th time, to go to Santorini, a clear indication of how we trust this company. Venice was as wonderful as anticipated the second time around.

Ongoing issues with payment for a booking

I have paid on 13th April by direct bank transfer for my holiday because your link to pay by credit card was not working, today is 18th April and I am still waiting for the confirmation that my payment was received. It has not been processed and my profile still says that the there is an outstanding amount to be paid (which had already been paid). This was my first experience of booking holiday with you, and it is too stressful to repeat in the future. Your chat is not working - I have been waiting today from 1pm until 5pm for the advisor. My emails are not answered about this issue. Very disappointed.

Historic hotel in centre of Florence

Excellent value trip. Interesting old hotel with 600-year history, great location near main station (with efficient new tramway from airport), and so easy to walk around the historic centre of Florence. Friendly helpful staff, plenty of quiet places to sit and read, sweet little courtyard, didn’t use the outside spa/pool as it was February, but the water was warm! Breakfast was a little uninspired, very little hot food, but lots of pastries and breads (why is Florentine bread so tasteless? Maybe as it seems to be salt-free….) Opposite the world’s oldest pharmacy and 2 minutes from the exquisite church Santa Maria Novella. Lots of great trattorias and pizzerias nearby.

The must-sees of Panama !!! 👌🏼

We made a tour through Panama, booked with Voyage Privé and organized by Cacao Travel Agency and it was a super fantastic trip. We saw and stayed in Panama City, Boquete, Bocas del Toro, among others. We have always had different drivers, guides, especially Assyres, Byron, Carlos, and we would like to thank these people for their efforts and one person who really stood head and shoulders above his other colleagues, namely guide Sam Brittons for his knowledge and friendliness, was huge. Keep up the good work Sam!!! and of course not to forget the people of Cacao travel and Voyage Privé for this unforgettable journey.

Booking and information was fast and informative. I like the reassurance of back-up if there are any problems. I have booked many holidays and city breaks with VP and always found the hotels to be of a very good standard and there is always a vast selection of flights on offer. Furthermore, I think VP is good value, offers a complete and full holiday experience with very good customer service.

Absolutely appallingly treatment

Last summer we booked a 17 day package to Vietnam and Cambodia for this January for my freinds 60th. 2 weeks before we left we still didn't have all the paperwork, and we had to get in touch with them several times. It eventually arrived 2 days before we were leaving. On the whole we had a good experience, but that was mostly down to the wonderful people. We had 2 exceptional guides, and 1 who was not. On my freinds 60th we were in a hotel up in the hills, we booked the restaurant to find we were the only ones in and they were all packing up waiting for us to go, then found the bar was shut. So no where to go and landed up in bed by 9 pm. We had booked 2 extra excursions, including a bike ride through the quiet countryside with a boat trip and meal at £80pp. Day of trip was heavy rain to start, guide turned up with bikes at hotel on a fairly busy main road, gave us all a bike and he was off. A couple of us skidded trying to cross road, dodging the mopeds and went over. 2 of us decided not to go as felt it was dangerous for us, and not what we had booked. We were picked up later on for the meal, but missed boat trip. When we arrived at restaurant the guide had lost one of our friends, he proceeded to shout at our freind and told her to go find her husband. Eventually my husband found him. Same guide gave us paperwork next flight which was to wrong destination, he told us not to worry, just ignore it. We got that sorted ourselves. Next day new hotel, only 1 room booked instead of 2, had an extra 2 hour wait for room but managed to eventually get a room. Get to Cambodia, brilliant guide, different hotel than listed, should of had cocktail making and afternoon tea, which we didn't get. End of holiday picked up, taken to airport, went to book in, No FLIGHT, it had been cancelled last September, because they now have a new airport. VOYAGE PRIVE had not rebooked and try to blame us, said we didn't get in touch with them when they contacted us ( which they hadn't). All the paperwork still had old flight details. We had to get ourselves home and pay for the tickets, luckily we had enough money, They made no effort to sort it out. Thanks to Cambodian airport staff, they did manage to get us on a flight later that day, but we missed our connecting flights. When we did eventually get home, VP did admit they were in the wrong. And have now refunded flights, phone calls and taxi as we were in wrong uk airport. They since offered £35 compensation each which is an insult and we have refused. We are taking this matter further. We are all well travelled, so are used to things not always going quite to plan, and we did manage to get ourselves back ok, but no thanks to VP, We will never use this company again.

⚠️‼️ Do not book a cruise through Voyage Prive. Zero communication before trip. I had to request further information to add myself on the manifest. Otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to board. No communication at port. Waited for hours to board to then find out my booking for a balcony cabin had been overbooked!! So my cabin was unavailable and given an inside cabin with no windows as the only option. Even though I paid for the balcony! My booking was also not communicated fully with Norweigan cruise company and they didn’t have my full details on their system. As a result I was not able to download the Norweigan App on the ship, which led me to missing out booking excursions (which is the sole purpose of going on the cruise). I was unable to purchase on board Wi-Fi for the trip, which could only be accessed through the app, multiple trips to the customer services team on board also found out I did not have the drinks package which was paid for on my ship card. So it added a lot of stress especially being a solo traveller and having no support or reassurance from this company for the trip at all! This whole experience has led me to be very disappointed with Voyage Prive. Even booking the holiday I had to purchase the flight separately, as the package option the website gave, would mean I landed after the cruise ship left the dock. So there were no suitable options that would have allowed me to get to Marseille on time to board the ship. So save yourself the trouble and book through a different company! I would like to say I was the only one. But I was just one of MANY people and families affected on the trip by this issue. Lots of angry and upset people at the port. And lots of angry people still awaiting answers on the ship. Not worse the stress or good deal it may seem.

I had a very upsetting timep having…

I had a very upsetting time having missed our flight even although we turned up 35 minutes before dep BA sold our seats and cancelled our return saying no show, these are our seats on return phone VP they did nothing to help we had to buy new tickets ourselves very upsetting

Where do I start with this… VERY BAD…

Where do I start with this… VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!!! We booked a ski trip in isola 2000 for a Christmas break with the family. Upon arrival to the Hotel Sowell we were greeted by a receptionist who wasn’t the politest however we were given a key card and room key which we found odd. We got into a very small lift and went to the 5th floor where we walked down a very grubby walk way. We finally got to our room where we had poorly fitted key lock and room card to operate. Upon entering the room we noticed a strange smell and what can only be described as a dingy outdated bed sit! The room had a stained red carpet, worn out bedding, mould in the bathroom, body fat around the shower area, damp in the hallway, damaged and chewed up door frame and to top it all off a crumbling ceiling on the balcony. We instantly went back to reception where we reported the state of the room and requested to speak to a manager. We were told the manager was not around but they would speak to him to find out what he would like to do! We were told to go for a walk and return in 30 minutes which we found very strange. Upon returning we were given the keys to another room which we went to view however the room was no better! We instantly requested to speak to the manager but yet again was told he was not available. We checked out of the hotel without spending a single night and contacted Voyage Prive. We lodged the compliant with them via phone and followed up with an e mail however we heard nothing for 48 hours. We then called them to get an update to be told we would not get a refund as we had basically checked out of the hotel and that the case was closed. Voyage Prive have not been supportive in the matter and I will not book a holiday with them again! I would advise anyone wishing to book a holiday to avoid booking via Voyage Prive! I will also be looking to take legal action against the company as they have misrepresented an advertisement and refuse to support us as customers leaving us stranded at Christmas after travelling from the UK.

Won’t give us our refund and being completely ignored!

Booked my 30th birthday trip through Voyage Prive for Feb 2024, only to get a notification in June that my long haul flights had changed and I should log in to select ones that worked for us. Logged in to find no options available, and got in touch several times with customer service on the chatbot to be given zero indication of what is happening to our holiday or any communication on next steps. Fast forward to November and we finally get told our flight is changing! These dates and times however no longer work for us, so we opted for a full refund (one of the options in the email notifying us of the flight change). It has now been 2 WEEKS and not only has our request for a refund gone completely unanswered, we have received NO confirmation of when this refund is coming and our booking is still live and asking us to pay off the remainder in 3 weeks time!! I have emailed 5 times and spoken to customer service agents 4 times to ask for an update or a simple confirmation that we will be getting a refund, and no one is helping us - this is my last resort before I report them to the ombudsman for not returning our money. A complete joke of a company with the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever seen, will never ever book a holiday through them again.

**** AVOID *****Booking with this company. NOT a Travel Agency . Unhelp staff, not prepared to find a solution. Really just a call centre. Better off booking your travel separately yourself. Save time, money, stress and anxiety, As you will not get any hidden extras. So five months ago a booked a special trip ( honeymoon) for me and my husband. We booked a trip to the Maldive's. As it was a very special trip, I used my savings to book business class flight due to the distance. First situation, I contacted the customer support to arrange the location of the villa at our chosen hotel. It took them weeks and multiple calls to confirm. Then I contacted the to see if I could extend a few day and travel to Indian as they had advertised a trip of the golden triangle. I was told this would not be possible and if I wanted to look at altering the flights I would need to contact the airline directly, not them!!! Lost sale … I asked myself then, why I have I used this company ??? This is not full service despite me spending over £14k on a dream trip . The nail in the coffin was when I received an email from them asking for me to reserve my seats. The link sent directed me to BA who are not the carrier. After calling BA I was told I need to contact Qatar airways. I went on the Quatar airline with the booking code and it informed me, that if I wanted to reserve my seats ( to ensure I was sat next to my husband). I had to pay an £700 ( just for the seat despite paying over £6k on business classes tickets for this special trip. I though this must be a mistake. So I called the customer service. I spoke to an operation who kept referring me back to Qatar airways again ….why book via a travel agent !!! So then I contacted Qatar Airways. Who explained that Voyage Privé had booked the cheapest business class tickets and reservations of your seat are not included !!!! There is no guarantee that I will be seated with my husband and I need to take it up with Voyage Prive . At no stage have I received any communication from Voyage Prive explaining I could Not reserve our seats . I do understand a business needs to make money but this is ridiculous. The greed of two companies is causing unnecessary, stress and anxiety. What should be a very special memorable trip. It’s totally understandable. I’m only writing this review to so anyone booking a special trip are aware of the pitfalls and can make an informed decision. If your going to want a good level of service book Kuoni. Save yourself the stress and money for a second rate service. Still NO response despite the email !!

Disastrous Santorini

Booked a holiday to Santorini for my husbands 60th Birthday treat and because I have travelled with Voyage Prive before I thought the hotel would be lovely as it stated luxury 5* Resort , well this could not have been further from the truth . I booked half board basis as I knew Santorini was very expensive , well the hotel was no more than a 3* at most, in the middle of absolutely nowhere, no transport links apart from Taxi’s , the hotel is on a busy dirt track road with nothing else around it , nearest town would be a 40 minute walk uphill on the filthy dust road . The food in the hotel was absolutely shockingly terrible , lack of item for breakfast and extortionately priced lunch menu food and the bar prices were shocking and the bar was not even a proper bar , no fraught local beer just small bottles . The hotel manager was a very rude person and the other poor staff were working 15 hours per day . There was absolutely nothing luxurious about the hotel at all . Voyage Prive also charged £70 for a taxi journey that took 8 minutes from the airport which is also extortionate. I have complained to customer services and they say there us nothing they can do , I asked how they rated this a 5* resort and asked if a representative from Voyage Prive had actually been to the hotel and they said no, they told me that the proprietor of the hotel had rated it a 5* !!!!!!! What a joke so he can rate his hotel what he wants and voyage Prive make money off of his say so !!!!! I will never ever travel with this company again , they have ruined my husbands 60th birthday by allowing me to book a sub standard hotel pretending to be 5* .SHAME ON YOU VOYAGE PRIVE. You do not care about customers only profit. Voyage Prive have requested I contact them but I am unable to do this , my booking reference is 100400626VPUK, this issue shows as completed but it is far from completed as your customer service is absolutely useless and do not want to listen to customers. Voyage Prive have replied to this comment and asked me to contact the customer services, of course I have already done this . Don’t be fooled by their reply as they just do not care about customers only their profit absolutely disgusting company !!! I have provided my booking reference above and not 1 person has contacted me but they know who I am , why bother replying to a review and not doing anything about 😡. Voyage Prive have still not contacted me despite Arthur replying, I have tried to contact them but they do not reply , they are not interested at all , the holiday has been taken and they have their money ,

Real-time review from a lone female traveler

I am writing this review while actually on holiday in Mexico on a deal booked through VP. All of it is completely genuine and honest, and I am doing this so that nobody has to experience what I am dealing with right now. I would not recommend travelling anywhere with this company. They offer some very tempting destinations and deals, but once they have your deposit I can confirm the following facts based on my recent (and continuing) experience: 1) Your dates are effectively fixed. If you need to change them a little, as I did, the price of your holiday pretty much doubles 2) if you try to change the names on your booking because you can’t afford to change the date (see above) then the price is prohibitively high (also, see above) 3) If you try, due to points 1) and 2) above to cancel your holiday and knowingly lose your deposit, then they actually want to charge you an ADDITIONAL AMOUNT TO CANCEL for transport (in my case another £1500) The words ‘over a barrel’ spring to mind. Be CAREFUL folks. I have ended up on a holiday alone, over Christmas, because amending the date was too expensive and cancelling meant I would have paid £2800 for a holiday for nobody to go anywhere. Now that I am here, the hotel is nice (though not amazing) and I have asked the desk if I may be given preferred status (quieter pools, nicer restaurants…, different drinks) due to the fact that I have paid for 2 people to come here for a 10 day all-inclusive holiday, though only one of us is here. The reception desk tells me I must contact Voyage Privé. The Voyage Privé rep tells me it’s out of his hands and that I must contact the office. The office is not responding. Here are some important points to note about this company and their offers if you are considering booking with them. Please think carefully before booking because I don’t want anyone to end up with the same experience as I am having: A: CHECKED LUGGAGE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THEIR ALL-INCLUSIVE DEALS! (Go figure…) So, on check-in with the airline they have arranged with your deal, you end up paying EXTRA for this. In my case, had both of us been able to come on the holiday this would have cost an additional £196. Nowhere is this clearly stated before you pay your deposit. What kind of all-inclusive, 5* holiday doesn’t include the most basic essential of luggage? B: Reassuringly, just before your holiday begins, they send you a number to contact in case of emergency, on WhatsApp. Sadly, it is only possible to message this number on WhatsApp and they do not respond (so far I have been waiting over 3 hours to hear from someone and, as a lone female traveller, this is not at all a good scenario) C: if you have any enquiry about your trip before you travel, expect to wait a very long time for a response. In my case this ranged between 2 and 4 weeks. Nothing under that. And bear in mind that the answer will always be no, basically, although it is couched in the nicest of terms of course. And as expected, I get the standard response below, which you will notice directs all negative reviewers to the ‘contact us’ options. Good luck with that guys. The bottom line is that once they have your money, you can swivel. Again, couched in the nicest possible terms.

Great location and wonderful facilities

RUSHED/ MAJOR COCK UPS/ AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOUR/PATRONISING AND CONDESCENDING STAFF WHEN IT CAME TO EXPLAINING HOW UPSET WE WERE WITH WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A HOLIDAY OF A LIFETIME WASA GHASTLY EXPERIENCE

This was our itinerary and the holiday cost just shy of £6000 plus the extras to pick a seat on the flights times 4 another £600 This is what we paid for. • Phuket: Kalima (IN REALITY WE ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL ROUGHLY AROUND 8AM AND HAD TO WAIT IN THE FOYER UNTIL 6PM FOR OUR ROOM, AND HOTEL WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE ON A DANGEROUS ROAD WITH NO FOOTPATHS TO EVEN VENTURE OUT) We were not allowed to use the facilities until we had been given our room. 10 hr wait! Be prepared to get up early for this trip as we got no rest time. As the guides pick you up between 7-8am every morning. After such long flights 15 hours in total from the UK to Thailand, if like us you had a lousy flight, due to a poor baby with an ear infection screaming the whole flight from Qatar to Thailand. We had chronic jet lag. So to finally get into our room and then have an early start immediately the next morning was not relaxing at all. • Krabi: Peace Laguna Resort & Spa (Again wake up call and trips were at 8am set off time) • Khao Sok: Our Jungle House in Khaosok 1:) WE ARRIVED AND THE HOTEL WAS NOT EXPECTING US, AND WERE FULLY BOOKED. SO WE WERE KEPT WAITING IN THE RECEPTION AREA FOR ALMOST (2 HOURS) AND FINALLY WERE ALLOCATED A HOTEL 20 MINUTE DRIVE AWAY. WE WERE KEPT WAITING IN THE RECEPTION AREA FOR 90 MINUTES BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE A ROOM FOR US. AND WHEN WE DID GET THE ROOM, IT WAS INCORRECT AND WE LEFT STANDING AROUND FOR 45 MINUTES IN THE PISSING RAIN. AND WHEN WE DID GET OUR ROOM AT 3 PM WE WERE TOLD TO BE READY FOR 4 PM FOR OUR FIRST EXCURSION. AND THEN WHEN WE GOT BACK, WE TOLD WE THEN HAD TO BE READY FOR 7 PM FOR OUR NIGHT TIME JUNGLE SAFARI . WHICH WE WERE LED TO BELIEVE WAS GOING TO BE IN THE DAYLIGHT, SO WE DIDN’T REALLY GET TO SEE MUCH. SO A PRETTY POINTLESS EXCURSION THAT WAS PAID FOR. 2:) WE HAD AN ISSUE IN THE HOTEL ROOM, WHERE THERE WAS A LARGE HORNET THAT WE COULD NOT GET OUT OF THE ROOM THAT WAS ATTACKING US, SO WE HAD TO LEAVE THE ROOM AT MIDNIGHT, WHICH WE ARE WELL AWARE, YOU DO EXPECT TO HAVE SOME BUGS AND INSECTS WHEN YOU GO TO SOMEWHERE LIKE THAILAND. AND WE COULDN'T HAVE BREAKFAST BECAUSE OF A SWARM OF WASPS ALL OVER THE FOOD. AND, UNLIKE THE VOYAGE PRIVE REPRESENTATIVE THAT I HAVE BEEN SPEAKING TO SINCE WE HAVE COME BACK FROM OUR TRIP, WHO I MIGHT ADD IS THE MOST PATRONIZING AND ARROGANT PERSON I’VE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH, OF THE NAME OF JENNIFER!! TELLING ME THAT YOU DO EXPECT TO SEE BUGS WHEN YOU ARE TRAVELING TO SOMEWHERE LIKE THAILAND, I’M NOT STUPID I AM WELL TRAVELED. AND I’M CERTAINLY NOT SQUEAMISH. I DON’T EXPECT TO BE SPOKEN DOWN TO LIKE I’M A CHILD, WHEN I’M TRYING TO EXPLAIN TO SOMEONE THAT WORKS FOR VOYAGE PRIVE THAT WHAT SHOULD’VE BEEN A LUXURY HOLIDAY, TURNED OUT TO BE A NIGHTMARE AND OVER SIX GRAND LIGHTER. • Khao Lak: The Kalima Resort & Villas Khao Lak 1:) WE Arrived at this hotel after a very long day, traveling, from the excursion, and then travelling yet again, in total seven hours. When we arrived at the hotel reception, we were checked in and greeted by the staff, and they told us to enjoy our relaxation time. At this point, we were absolutely shattered because we hadn’t slept for days, because the itinerary was so jam packed, as up until this point there was no time whatsoever to relax! We were shunted from pillar to post. And was looking forward to a lay in the following day. 2:) We were woken up the next morning at 6:50 AM saying that our driver was here for our excursion. At no point was we told by anyone or any notes left that we were going on an excursion the following day. The hotel manager came up to our hotel room, and I had to WhatsApp All the details of our itinerary, whilst the driver was having a full-blown argument with us on the phone, and was threatening and intimidating, and had my daughter in tears, finally, the driver left, as there was no way I was going to spend a day with a male individual that had used (Threatening behavior as we did not feel safe. So we missed out on a trip that we did not know we were supposed to going on the next day. I explained this to Jennifer from Voyage Prive, and her response was, it was our fault we should’ve asked! At what point is it my job as the paying Customer on a luxury holiday have to do the running around finding out when and where my itinerary is, that’s the whole point of me spending thousands of pounds with a company that pride themselves on saying they take away all the work. We just enjoy the trip. An Absolute joke, and yet again PATRONIZING! 3:) DAY WE WERE DUE TO FLY BACK,YET AGAIN WE WERE WOKEN AT 4.50AM BY THE DRIVER TO TAKE US TO THE AIRPORT AND HAD EXACTLY THE SAME ISSUE OF AN ARGUING DRIVER.And the hotel manager had to show him our proof of flights that were at 8.30pm as our transfer was supposed to be at 4.30pm.Even then they didn’t turn up and the hotel had an argument with the tour operator for Khoa Lak and it turned up an hour late. VOYAGE PRIVE’S attitude stinks.
