Get to Know Carnival Dream

It's one thing to be fun, but it's another thing to be first. Carnival Dream was at the forefront of a recent wave of amazingly innovative and fun Carnival ships. As the genesis of the Dream class, Carnival Dream set the direction for the ships that followed in her footsteps — first Carnival Magic and then Carnival Breeze. But back to Carnival Dream: the ship itself is a unique experience with the way-fun RedFrog Rum Bar ® and the very cool BlueIguana Tequila Bar ™ . Get your appetite ready, because you're gonna need it. Carnival Dream features two dual-level dining rooms, a gourmet steakhouse and dedicated sushi spot Bonsai Sushi ™ . It's also got a full menu of our latest and greatest casual spots for a bite: BlueIguana Cantina ™ , Pizzeria del Capitano, Guy's Burger Joint ™ and Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse ™ . (That's Guy as in Guy Fieri, by the way — so you know the food's delish.) Carnival Dream also features the borderline-magical Alchemy Bar ® and Ocean Plaza, which combines tasty treats with perhaps even tastier entertainment. Entertainment options are all up and down the ship, and so is soaking-wet fun, from the heart-racing waterslide action at Carnival WaterWorks ™ to the soul-soothing Thalassotherapy pool at the Cloud 9 Spa ™ . Despite its name, Carnival Dream is definitely a reality. Can't believe it? Pinch yourself... and book your dream cruise today.

View of a Holland America Line cruise ship

Key West, Florida, US

One of the first things you’ll notice on your Key West cruise is the colorful gingerbread wooden houses and the amazing sunsets, and the constant crowing of roosters. Hundreds of the noisy birds—along with their quieter-clucking mates—roam the streets at all hours, and are nearly as synonymous with Key West cruises as its six-toed cats, the famous furry residents of Ernest Hemingway’s mansion in the Old Town district. They’re all part of the quirky charm of the United States' southernmost point, whose compact 11 square kilometers (4.2 square miles) pack in everything from gorgeous historic architecture and spectacular fishing and sailing to a raucous party scene along famed Duval Street. All of which is truly enjoyed by vacationers who cruise to Key West, Florida.

The first of the Florida Keys you'll hit after driving about an hour south from Miami en route from Key Largo to Key West is, well, Key Largo. Often referred to as the Dive Capital of the World, Key Largo includes one must-see stop: John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park (MM 102.5), the first underwater preserve in the United States.

Experienced and novice snorkelers and SCUBA divers will be enthralled by the teeming marine life that lives just below the water's surface, like parrot fish, barracudas and sea turtles. More experienced divers enjoy exploring the USS Spiegel Grove, one of the largest ships ever intentionally sunk to create an artificial reef where pretty fish can thrive.

Back on dry land, travelers can wander nearly six miles of trails at Dagny Johnson Key Largo Hammock Botanical State Park, home to more than 80 species of plants and animals. You can also peruse the work of local artists at myriad galleries.

Best beach: Cannon Beach, found within John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, has shallow waters that are perfect for wading. You may even spot cannons and anchors on the beach that remain from a 1715 Spanish shipwreck.

Where to eat: Dig into the catch of the day at The Fish House, Key Largo Conch House or Snook's Bayside Restaurant & Grand Tiki Bar, some of the best traditional restaurants in the area. If you'd rather turf than surf, check out Jimmy Johnson's Big Chill.

Where to stay: If you can't get enough of the underwater world, stay at Jules' Undersea Lodge , the world's first underwater hotel. If you'd rather keep dry, try the adults-only Bungalows Key Largo .

Baby girl found wrapped in blanket near bayou in W. Harris County, HCSO says

Brooke Taylor Image

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A premature baby girl was found abandoned in west Harris County near a bayou on Saturday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the 5500 block of Casa Martin shortly after 9 a.m. and found the child, who was wrapped in a blanket, officials said.

Upon discovery, the umbilical cord was still attached to the infant, HCSO said.

Officials said the newborn girl was taken to a Methodist hospital in Katy and is OK.

Surveillance footage obtained by ABC13 shows a man walking with the baby wrapped in a towel before eventually abandoning her. Furthermore, the video shows different angles of the incident.

ABC13 spoke to the couple who discovered the abandoned baby. Luis Marin and Daniela Fedele were the couple who found the baby while walking with their 3-year-old daughter.

"In that moment, I saw a blanket. It was a towel on the floor...That's when I noticed it was a baby. The first thing I saw was her little feet moving. She wasn't crying or anything," Fedele said.

The couple also witnessed a man running, where surveillance footage from a neighbor captured the moments of the shocking discovery.

"The look the baby was giving me, it's a newborn. I held her, and I'm like, how can someone can just leave a baby like this? It's heartbreaking," Marin told ABC13.

The man is facing charges of abandoning and endangering child, while the sheriff's office is asking the public's help in finding him.

"She deserves better. I hope this doesn't define her life, and I hope she lives a good powerful life," Fedele said.

The couple hopes to visit the baby at the hospital.

SEATTLE – The Texas Rangers will be missing a key player with a history of producing big hits against the Seattle Mariners for presumably the rest of an important three-game battle between the American League West rivals.

Former Seattle Mariners pitcher highlights two unsung heroes of pitching staff

Switch-hitting catcher Jonah Heim was placed on the paternity list before the middle game of the three-game set, the Rangers announced Saturday.

Heim, 28, is slashing .234/.278/.342 with six doubles, six home runs and 31 RBIs over 61 games this season.

In 45 career games against Seattle, Heim’s batted .257/.295/.439 with 12 doubles, five home runs and 31 RBIs. His home run and RBI totals are both his second most against any MLB squad over his five-year career.

Those numbers included this game in 2021, when Heim clubbed two two-run home runs. The first was game-tying blast and the second a walk-off in extra innings. Notably, Seattle missed the playoffs by a single game that season.

The Rangers called up former top prospect Sam Huff to fill Heim’s roster spot.

Huff was a top-100 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline , in 2020 and 2021, but hasn’t seen much major-league playing time since his 2022 debut.

In 76 games across parts of four big-league seasons, Huff sports a solid .2623/.314/.462 slash line with nine doubles, 10 home runs and 20 RBIs. He’s played just once and hasn’t registered a plate appearance this season.

2024 NBA playoffs bracket, schedule, scores: Mavericks extend NBA Finals as series moves to Boston for Game 5

The celtics are just one win away from their 18th nba title.

play-in-1.png

Even though they took a loss on Friday, the Boston Celtics are still one win away from a record 18th NBA Finals title. They will host the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of their best-of-seven series on Monday at 8:30 p.m. ET. If the Celtics win at TD Garden, they will add to their franchise's storied history by securing their first title since 2008. The Mavericks will try to win on the road to force the series back to Dallas.

On Friday, the Mavericks avoided a series sweep in convincing fashion, winning Game 4  122-84 . Luka Doncic finished with 29 points for the Mavs, who led by 26 points at halftime and never looked back. The 38-point victory marks the third-largest win in NBA Finals history. Kyrie Irving added 21 points for the Mavericks, who shot over 50% from the field through three quarters and held the Celtics to just 35 first-half points.

The Celtics dropped their first game since May 9, snapping a franchise-record 10-game playoff win streak. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for just 25 points (15 from Tatum, 10 from Brown) on 7-for-22 shooting.

The Mavericks still have a tall task ahead if they want to prevent the Celtics from raising their 18th championship banner in franchise history. No team in NBA history has ever come back to win a best-of-seven series after falling behind 3-0 in 156 previous instances. Regardless of which of these remaining teams win the 2024 title, the NBA will have its sixth different champion in six years -- something that has not happened since 1975-1980 .

The postseason field started with 20 teams, and now we're down to two. The Warriors , Kings , Hawks and Bulls were ousted in the Play-In Tournament before the Pelicans , Suns , Clippers , Lakers , Heat , 76ers , Bucks and Magic were eliminated in the first round. The Cavaliers , Thunder , Knicks and Nuggets were sent home in the second round with the Pacers and Timberwolves bowing out in the conference finals.

Here's a look at the upcoming schedule, as well as all the playoff scores. All games airing on ABC, ESPN and NBA TV are streaming on  fubo  (try for free).

Help Coming for Texas Rangers, Mariners Continue to Overpower AL West

Art garcia | jun 14, 2024.

Texas Rangers pitcher Max Scherzer celebrates with third baseman Josh Jung (6) celebrate after the Texas Rangers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks to win the World Series in game five of the 2023 World Series at Chase Field in Phoenix on Nov. 1, 2023.

  • Texas Rangers

The expected reinforcements that should be on their way continue to give the Texas Rangers . That’s about as good as it gets right now for the reigning World Series champs.

The Rangers enter an important series at the American League West-leading Seattle Mariners on Friday. Texas (33-35) remains second in the division, but the Mariners (40-31) hold a 5.5-game lead with a three-game set at T-Mobile Park running through Sunday.

As mentioned in the latest MLB Power Rankings from ESPN , the Rangers – who dropped a spot to No. 13 – need some luck and good health to come their way.

Per ESPN.com:

The Rangers continue to tread water while waiting for their IL list to shrink. If all goes well (which hasn't been the case often this season for Texas), by the time the Power Rankings are posted next week, all of Josh Jung , Max Scherzer , Jon Gray and Corey Seager could be back in the lineup. Texas will still be waiting on Tyler Mahle , Jacob deGrom and Evan Carter , among others, but it's a start. With Seattle's lead in the division growing and a rugged schedule ahead for Texas over the next three weeks, the defending champs need all the help they can get.

The Mariners held steady at No. 9 in the latest rankings, as the AL West continues to look like a two-team race … if Texas stays within striking distance. The next three games could tighten things up or give Seattle even more breathing room.

The rest of the division: Houston Astros (15), Los Angeles Angels (26) and Oakland Athletics (27).
