Eric Church to Play Amphitheaters on 2023 Outsiders Revival Tour

Eric Church is taking things outdoors this summer: The country singer-songwriter launches the Outsiders Revival Tour in June. Calling back to the title of his 2014 album Outsiders , the trek will focus exclusively on open-air venues in North America (his first outdoor tour in 13 years) and showcase a rotating group of opening acts.

Kicking off June 22 in Milwaukee, the Outsiders Revival Tour runs through the end of September and finds Church visiting virtually every part of the U.S. (although California is notably absent from the itinerary). Stops include Cincinnati’s Riverbend Music Center, Washington’s Gorge Amphitheatre , and a two-night stint at the Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama, on Aug. 18 and 19. Tickets go on sale to the public Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. local time.

Eric Church Recruits Ashley McBryde, Hailey Whitters, Ray Wylie Hubbard + More for 2023 Outsiders Revival Tour

Eric Church has a few new tricks up his sleeve for his newly announced 2023 Outsiders Revival Tour . The country star has recruited 18 different acts to join him for his three-month-long trek, which kicks off June 22 in Milwaukee.

He'll be joined by many familiar faces, including newly-inducted Grand Ole Opry member Ashley McBryde , Lainey Wilson , Parker McCollum , Travis Tritt , Midland , Elle King , Cody Jinks , Morgan Wade , Hailey Whitters and Jelly Roll on select dates.

Some lucky concertgoers will also be treated to opening sets from an array of burgeoning acts and established artists from the alt-country, Americana and Red Dirt scenes.

"Desperate Man" co-writer Ray Wylie Hubbard , Whiskey Myers , Muscadine Bloodline , Paul Cauthen , Koe Wetzel , Jackson Dean , Shane Smith & The Saints and The Red Clay Strays round out Church's curated list of openers for his lengthy headlining trek.

This eclectic mix of opening acts is just one of many fresh new elements of Church's upcoming live shows.

"When I approach touring, I'm always inspired by a new experience, a new way to gather, to express ourselves sonically and visually. Whether it's solo, in the round, double down; being able to bring a different perspective has always brought out our best creatively," shared Church. "Well, we have never done an outdoor summer tour. Church Choir fan club members will get first dibs on tickets through an exclusive presale, which begins Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 10AM local time. Country mainstay Eric Church has announced a summer tour, headlining amphitheaters with a star-studded roster of supporting acts in tow.

“We have never done an outdoor summer tour,” the country star wrote on social media , announcing the headlining trek. “Never headlined amphitheaters. Never brought a summer experience to your town that featured artists we want to share the summer with. Until now. See you in the season of sunshine with some fellow outsiders that shine brightest when the sun goes down.”

Those fellow outsiders include Whiskey Myers, Cody Jinks, Jelly Roll, Ashley McBryde, Lainey Wilson, Parker McCollum, Elle King, and Paul Cauthen to name just a few. A total of 18 different artists will be joining him on the 27-date tour, rotating openers at every venue or so.

Dubbed the Outsiders Revival Tour, the North American stint will kick off in mid-June and come to a close in late September, having made stops everywhere from Toronto to Tampa.

Tickets will be available on Jan. 20 for general on-sale. See a full list of dates and supporting acts below.

Eric Church Announces 27-Date The Outsiders Revival Tour

Eric Church announced his summer tour on Wednesday complete with a line-up of 18 support acts that he plans to rotate over his 27 dates.

Whiskey Myers, Cody Jinks, Jelly Roll, Ashley McBryde, Koe Wetzel, Lainey Wilson, Midland, Parker McCollum, Travis Tritt, Elle King and Paul Cauthen, plus Jackson Dean, Morgan Wade, Muscadine Bloodline, Shane Smith & The Saints, Hailey Whitters, Ray Wylie Hubbard and The Red Clay Strays will join The Chief on his amphitheater tour, which will launch June 22 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Elle King will open the show – her only appearance on the tour. Church’s touring season ends October 7 in Bristol, Tennessee, at Bristol Motor Speedway for Country Thunder Bristol.

The festival dates don’t include Church’s opening acts.

Tickets to all dates go on sale next Friday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.com, with presale access available to Church Choir members starting Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. local time.

The newly planned concerts are set at large-scale North American outdoor venues from June into September. Eric Church Adds Six New Dates For ‘The Outsiders Revival Tour’ Due To Overwhelming Demand

You now have six more chances to see Eric Church on his summer The Outsiders Revival Tour .

He added a handful of new stops to the previously-announced 27 cities on the schedule, including Charleston, South Carolina, Atlanta, Georgia, and another show in his home state of North Carolina at PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, among a few others.

In addition to all the great dates, Chief is bringing along an incredible cast of 18 different rotating openers with him on his first headlining amphitheater tour, with the likes of:

Of the forthcoming trek, Eric says it will be a whole new ballgame for his team on this outdoor summer tour, headlining outdoor amphitheaters across the country for the very first time:

In one of the previous teasers, he included a clip from his 2013  Caught in the Act  live album, where he details his first amphitheater concert in Charlotte, North Carolina, so this venture seems to also be some sort of nod to that early inspiration in a way:

“I still remember my first amphitheater concert. I was 16-years-old.”

This is easily the tour of the summer in my opinion, and I can only hope an album announcement won’t be too far behind… he released his most recent triple album,  Heart & Soul , in April of 2021.

Eric Church Announces “The Outside Revival” Tour

It’s a rite of passage for any music fan, seeing “The Chief” live in concert. Known for his marathon sets, the 2022  Billboard  Music Awards’ Top Country Tour honoree  Eric Church  brings his critically acclaimed live show to new audiences in new ways this year, headlining  outdoor  venues throughout the summer with  The Outsiders Revival Tour . Joining the man praised by  POLLSTAR  for “having already long established himself as one of the most successful touring country artists” across varying dates are  Whiskey Myers , Cody Jinks, Jelly Roll , Ashley McBryde , Koe Wetzel, Lainey Wilson , Midland , Parker McCollum , Travis Tritt , Elle King   and  Paul Cauthen,  plus   Jackson Dean , Morgan Wade , Muscadine Bloodline, Shane Smith & The Saints, Hailey Whitters , Ray Wylie Hubbard  and  The Red Clay Strays.

“When I approach touring, I’m always inspired by a new experience, a new way to gather, to express ourselves sonically and visually. Whether it’s solo, in the round, double down; being able to bring a different perspective has always brought out our best creatively,” shared Church. “Well, we have never done an outdoor summer tour. Never headlined amphitheaters. Kicking off June 22, the Live Nation produced tour takes the man celebrated by  Forbes  for “offering fans a unique experience each night while conjuring up the unpredictability that used to make concerts unforgettable” to 26 cities across the U.S. and Canada. Tickets to all dates go on sale next Friday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.com, with presale access available to Church Choir members starting Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. local time.

Eric Church Unveils The Outsiders Revival Tour 2023 With Midland, Lainey Wilson, Whiskey Myers and More

All week long, Eric Church has been teasing a big announcement with a series of cryptic posts across his socials. Today, The Chief has confirmed fans’ suspicions by announcing a blockbuster 2023 summer tour, The Outsiders Revival.

Since the original Outsiders World Tour in 2014, Church has been a lone wolf when it comes to playing live. But his 2023 The Outsiders Revival tour will feature a star-studded line-up of special guests, including Lainey Wilson , Midland , Whiskey Myers and more.

Also joining the sprawling tour will be Cody Jinks , Hailey Whitters , Jelly Roll, Ashley McBryde , Koe Wetzel, Parker McCollum , Travis Tritt, Elle King and Paul Cauthen.

Completing the line-up will be Jackson Dean, Morgan Wade, Muscadine Bloodline, Shane Smith & The Saints, Ray Wylie Hubbard and The Red Clay Strays.

Coming off the back of receiving the Billboard Music Award for Top Country Tour, Eric Church is charging into his 2023 set of shows with a tank full of momentum.

The tour kicks off with a special Summerfest performance in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 22, which will be supported by Elle King. This is set to be followed by a show the next night in Detroit, Michigan featuring Ashley McBryde and The Red Clay Strays.

Commenting on the mammoth tour, The Chief underlined his determination to try a new approach, “When I approach touring, I’m always inspired by a new experience, a new way to gather, to express ourselves sonically and visually. 

Whether it’s solo, in the round, double down; being able to bring a different perspective has always brought out our best creatively”.

The tour's eclectic mix of supporting artists will make each night truly distinct, with the opening acts varying from show to show.

The line-up features a number of established country heavyweights, such as Midland and Ashley McBryde, along with a suite of rising stars, from Parker McCollum to Jelly Roll, who will no doubt be performing his first ever Country Radio No. 1, ‘Son of a Sinner’ .

The Outsiders Revival tour, the name a nod to Church's 2014 album and accompanying set of shows, will close in Tampa, Florida on September 30, with support from Southern rockers, Whiskey Myers.

Eric Church Addresses Polarizing 2024 Stagecoach Performance: 'This Was the Most Difficult Set I Have Ever Attempted'

Eric Church knows he took a gamble on his 2024 Stagecoach set.

On Saturday, April 27, the country star, 46, addressed his polarizing, gospel set that took place on the Mane stage of the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, Calif. during the festival's opening night on Friday, April 26.

Church's set featured a 16-person choir, which included longtime collaborator Joanna Cotten, as well as covers of songs like Leonard Cohen's “Hallelujah,” Al Green's “Take Me to the River,” Ben E. King's “Stand By Me,” and Snoop Dogg's “Gin and Juice.”

While some fans called his performance "iconic," others called him a "complete energy suck" and commented on how they were disappointed by him sitting on a stool and performing covers with a choir.

“This was the most difficult set I have ever attempted,” the "Man Made a Bar" singer said in a press release statement. “I've always found that taking it back to where it started, back to chasing who Bob Seger loves, who Springsteen loves, who Willie Nelson loves, you chase it back to the origin. The origin of all that is still the purest form of it. And we don't do that as much anymore. It felt good at this moment to go back, take a choir and do that.” Church then addressed his decision to take a risk with his set.

“For me, it's always been something with records, with performances, I've always been the one that's like, ‘Let's do something really, really strange and weird and take a chance," he added. In honor of the grand opening of his Nashville bar  Chief's on Broadway  on April 5, Church announced  Eric Church: To Beat the Devil , a 19-date concert residency at the venue.

"These shows at Chief’s will be one of a kind, only for Chief’s and with some songs that will only ever be performed during  these  shows," he said in a statement about the residency in March.

The shows kicked off on April 5 and will continue through June 9.
