Journey back to the Old World on a Globus Europe tour. Down cobblestone lanes and well-worn paths, we venture way past the landmarks to immerse you in Europe’s enchanting landscapes and legends of lore. Get ready to drive a golf ball at Scotland’s legendary St. Andrews, hurl a snowball in the majestic Swiss Alps, strike a billiards ball in a cozy Irish pub, or sip wine on the grounds of a Tuscan castle. Hands on and feet first is how we roll through the storied hills, quaint villages and vibrant cities of Europe. While we skip the lines at ancient castles and cathedrals to whisk you back in time, we also bypass the main thoroughfares to catapult you toward the emerging chefs, artists and artisans who will define the Europe of tomorrow. Beyond the predictable. Beyond the expected. Beyond the guidebooks.

- About Australian Escapes Vouchers
How does a "Deposit voucher" benefit me?
- Deposit value comes off the discounted price as your initial deposit.
Australian Escapes negotiates special "bulk-buy" packages at Bronze to Diamond standard resorts with genuine discounts up to 60% off the lowest prices offered elsewhere. We pass on those huge discounts directly to you saving you heaps.
Tip #1: Affordability is the key
Tip #2: vouchers lock in the deal.
The first advantage to you of an Australian Escapes voucher is that it holds the discounted prices for up to 12 months, sometimes longer. You can decide later when you want to get away. You can stay 4 nights, 6 nights or more than 7 nights as well.
Flexible options
Vouchers showing this symbol are fully transferable. The voucher may be transfered (gifted) to any other individual or the deposit value may be transferred to a booking at a different participating property. Voucher expiry date and terms and conditions continue to apply. Voucher transfers are done in the "MY RESORT VOUCHERS" section of our website.
Tip #3: Voucher bundles give you the best value
The best deal is to buy a "Voucher Bundle". You will receive more deposit and discount value for your investment with access to multiple discounted holidays.
Tip #4: Your deposit voucher comes off the discounted price
The voucher deposit value comes off the discounted price of the holiday. So for example, let's say you have a $79 voucher and you want to stay 5 nights at the promoted resort. The discounted price is $549 for example. We will deduct your $79 voucher and you pay the balance at the time of booking, being $470. It's simple, and the overall advantage to you is you get to stay at top-class resorts at a much more affordable prices.
Tip #5: Early booking gets you the best dates
Why haven't i heard of this before.
If you have heard of Australian Escapes resort vouchers (marketed since 2001) you will already know that we offer by far the best deals available.
Discounted resort marketing using vouchers has been done in Australia since the early 1980's. Packages were originally promoted via telemarketing however that method has become less popular in recent years. There are only a few companies that continue to sell discounted resort packages by phone. If you only have a mobile phone, chances are you have not been called.
Australian Escapes has been at the forefront of discounted resort marketing since 2001. This was long before any online hotel & resort promoters appeared. We stopped promoting resorts by phone in 2016. We have now made discounted resort packages available via online channels such as Facebook and Google. From 2019 Australian Escapes returns with its legendary discounted holiday deals. You'll never pay retail again!
What's the catch?
There are no catches: no time-share seminars to attend, nothing extra to spend. These are simply specially-negotiated, bulk-buy packages that enable resorts to fill rooms that might otherwise go empty.
How it works in a nutshell:
- Savings off retail (including other accommodation and travel websites) can be as high as 60%.
What is involved in the travel club membership?
Travel club membership is optional and gives you many additional advantages. Read about the membership.

European Holiday Packages
Visit amazing sites in more than 50 countries. Experience vastly different cultures, languages and food within short train rides from city to city.
Nearly 30 European Union countries have a single currency and relaxed border crossings, making European travel quite easy. Ride a train for several hours on the continent and enter a new country. From Arctic Circle Nordic nations to warm southern Mediterranean countries, you’ll find modern cities alongside vestiges of ancient civilizations.
Visit Italy and Greece to wander through ruins of early empires. In Rome , see the Colosseum, in Athens , the Acropolis. Relax on glorious beaches in both countries. Explore some of the 6,000 islands of Greece and view the Ligurian Sea from high walking paths along terraced vineyards in Italy’s Cinque Terre . Pay papal respects at Vatican City , Europe’s smallest nation.
France is famous for wine, Mediterranean beaches and art galleries. Explore the grand canyon of the Gorges du Verdon and ski the French Alps . Visit weekly markets in small Provençal towns, perched villages in the Luberon and sandy beaches near Saint-Tropez . In Paris , tour the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay and the Centre Georges Pompidou. Walk along the Champs-Élysées and view the city from atop the Eiffel Tower.
Spain and Portugal highlight modern-day Iberian cultures. In Portugal, eat luscious Belém pastries, visit the 500-year-old Jerónimos Monastery and see raging waves on Europe’s westernmost land. Ski in the Pyrenees Mountains , run with the bulls in Pamplona and dance the flamenco in Madrid or Barcelona , Spain. Venture into the region between Spain and France to tour Bilbao ’s Guggenheim Museum and experience unique Basque culture and language.
Norway , Sweden , Finland and Denmark feature Scandinavian customs and foods, including endless Smörgåsbord buffets. See far northern lands near the Arctic Circle with summer sunshine through the day and night. Find quiet forests in Finland, Viking history at Sweden’s Vasa Museum and striking fjords on the shores of the Norwegian Sea.
The United Kingdom has Scottish heaths, Welsh castles and British pomp and pageantry across England . Your European will holiday will take you to see Big Ben , and the Parliament... again in London . Cross the water to Ireland and bike over rolling green hills past ancient Celtic landmarks.
Germany , Austria , Hungary , the Czech Republic and Poland offer glorious music, castles and centuries of history. Appreciate the Dom cathedral in Cologne , the symphonic orchestra in Vienna , ancient Roman settlements in Budapest , St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague and the old towns of Krakow and Gdansk .
Visit museums, art galleries and places of worship in Ukraine , Belarus , Lithuania , Latvia and other countries once isolated beyond U.S.S.R. borders.
Select one or two countries for a short European holiday or plan an annual visit to discover the beauty and history of this glorious continent.
Best time to visit Europe
Visit Europe in the spring for warm days and cool nights. Summer brings longer days and lovely weather, but can be busy August is when locals escape for their annual holiday. Fall in Europe brings the changing colours and fewer crowds. Winter is best for avid skiers and bargain hunters.
Peak Season: Most visitors from the U.S. explore Europe in the spring and summer months. Early fall tends to be busy in popular convention areas, and rates can be higher during this time.
Value Season: Winter and early spring see fewer travellers, and can be a great time to visit if you're looking for discounted flights and hotel rates.

The perks of travelling with Intrepid
Authentic experiences with a local leader
It's all well and good sticking to the tourist trail, but anyone can Google that. We work exclusively with local leaders – because who better to show you the soul of a destination than someone who lives and breathes the culture? With insider knowledge of hidden hangouts, local legends and, most importantly, the dishes you won't find on the tourist menu, you'll go behind the scenes for a deeper, more culturally-rich experience.
Small groups of ready-made friends
Travelling solo is fun, but we think it's even better with a small group of like-minded travellers just as eager to explore as you are. Our trips are for people of all ages and from all walks of life, from the rookie backpacker straight out of uni to retirees on a mission to tick off everything on their bucket lists. The diversity keeps things interesting – not to mention the new perspectives to uncover, stories to share and friendships to forge.
Safety, logistics and convenience
Travelling to a new place is exciting, but it can also be daunting. There's an itinerary to plan, accommodation to book and logistics to navigate – not to mention language barriers and border crossings. We're sure you could handle any situation, but it's reassuring to rock up and know that everything's been taken care of. Your leader will also keep you clued up on cultural do's and don'ts and help you avoid tourist traps so you can sit back and enjoy the ride.
Pick your own style of travel
Whether it's for finger-lickin' food, the freedom of the mountains or rare wildlife encounters, people travel for different reasons. That’s why we’ve created a range of travel themes and styles . From our Basix style with simple accommodation and plenty of free time to our Premium trips featuring our best stays, experiences and leaders (with our Original and Comfort styles in between), there's something to suit every Intrepid traveller.

Do i need a covid-19 vaccine to join an intrepid trip as a senior.
Trips from 1 January 2023 onwards
From 1 January 2023, Intrepid will no longer require travellers to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (excluding all Polar trips and select adventure cruises). However, we continue to strongly recommend that all Intrepid travellers and leaders get vaccinated to protect themselves and others.
Specific proof of testing or vaccination may still be required by your destination or airline. Please ensure you check travel and entry requirements carefully.

Who are Intrepid travellers?
Intrepid adventures are for travellers with a yearning to get off the beaten track. Whether you're travelling solo, with a group of friends, or are aged 18 or 70, there is an Intrepid adventure to suit your interests and comfort level. Each Intrepid adventure has a physical and cultural grading to help you decide if the trip is right for you. No special skills are required for most adventures, just a sense of adventure and a curiosity about the world. Even on our camping adventures no previous experience is required; our tents are easy to set up, even for first-time campers.
Are there age restrictions on your trips?
For the majority of our trips the minimum age is 15. An adult must accompany all children under the age of 18. Our Overland Adventures have a minimum age of 18. Younger children can join us on our Family trips and Short Break Adventures, but check each trip for its minimum age, which is located on the trip’s overview page on the website. Most of our trips don’t have a maximum age limit, but a Self-Assessment Form is required for all passengers 70 years and over.
How many people will be on my trip?
Good things come in small packages, which is why we keep our group sizes down. This means we’re small enough to remain flexible as we thread our way through communities without intimidating the locals. On most of our trips you’ll be part of an intimate group of 12-16 people, though our group sizes are on average 10 people. Our Overland trips are in purpose-built vehicles that can carry up to 24 travellers. Group sizes are displayed on each trip’s overview page on our website.
I’m travelling alone – is that OK?
This is the beauty of the Intrepid style of travel: many of our travellers join because they are travelling solo and want to meet and share experiences with like-minded people.

I have a disability – can I join an Intrepid trip?
Intrepid is committed to making travel widely accessible, regardless of ability or disability. We ask that you carefully consider whether you are physically and mentally able to complete the itinerary you have chosen, recognising that on many trips you will be required to carry your own bags and use public transport.
Where we can we will make reasonable adjustments to the operation of our trips to facilitate the requirements of disabled travellers – such as booking ground floor accommodation, or having our leaders communicate important directions in writing as well as verbally. Many travellers with disabilities have been able to enjoy our trips by travelling with a friend or companion who can assist with specific needs. If joining a group trip is not practical we may be able to provide you with a private departure. Please contact our sales team for further information on any of our itineraries.
Learn more about accessible travel with Intrepid
Do I need to buy travel insurance?
Travel insurance is compulsory on all our trips if you’re travelling internationally. Minimum coverage may differ from trip to trip, so make sure you check the Travel Insurance section in your Essential Trip Information. You will not be permitted to join the group until your leader has sighted your insurance policy number and the insurance company's 24-hour emergency contact number – it’s really important there are no barriers to getting emergency assistance for you.
Will I have my own room?
It's your call. Rooming on our trips is organised on a twin-share basis, but most of our trips also have the option to pay an extra fee for your own room. Just let us know at the time of booking and we'll arrange it for you.
For twin-share rooms, we pair up solo travellers with another traveller of the same gender as per the gender marker on each of their passports. As a responsible tour operator, we strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. In the case that your gender identity differs from what's indicated on your passport, please contact us so that we can discuss rooming options with you.
On a small selection of itineraries some accommodations are booked on an open-gender, multi-share basis. In those instances it will clearly be stated in your Essential Trip Information.
How does group time work?
Whether you’re travelling alone or with a partner, our trips have a set itinerary. But within that there’s time set aside for your own exploration (if you want to – no pressure). Depending on how you're feeling, you may want to have some downtime, ask your guide for a few tips then head out alone, or hang out with the group and see where the day takes you.
What makes a small group tour better than a coach tour?
The main difference between a small group tour and a coach tour is the size of the group; our tours have 10 travellers each (on average) while coaches can hold up to 60 people. This means that you'll never have to vie for your leader's attention on a small group tour because you'll automatically have it.

Western Balkans Uncovered
I did not know what to expect and was pleased to find it all very interesting and different from our North American standards. The kindness of the people toward tourists was wonderful to experience especially given the difficult history all of the countries visited had gone through. Food and drink were very good.

Very well organised tour! Big shout out to our Guide Javier ????????????
The Great Adventure
Israel was an amazing guide. My only critique would be how I was shuffled into other tours but with different timetables
From Copenhagen to Helsinki
The whole tour from start to finish was very good, the guide sometimes were not very professional with the group and did not consider the disability of some people. I guess she is young and not very experienced. All the hotels were top class. Maybe more time in Oslo, was a bit rushed. Overall a tour to be recommend.
European Delight
We have multiple tour guides. All are very friendly and accommodating towards everyone's need.I am overall satisfied with the services that I received.I believe it could be much better if a seperate tour was arranged for big Indian group.I understand their limitations. But as a traveller i missed some of my opportunities to make my tour more enjoyable and exciting. There should be age limit also. And I would like to know about my fellow travellers prior to my tour.
Classic Europe
Our tour was everything we expected and more. Roma our tour guide was knowledgeable and demonstrated a true passion for the history of the places we visited and was always happy with a tip or recommendation to make our experience that much better. Ivo our driver for all but the last day of the tour was first class, a very good driver.

European Charm ( 9 days )
European Charm March 2024 tour. My husband and I had a wonderful time. The tour guides Mario and Arturo were excellent. They went out of their way to help our tour exceed our expexpectations. Something not in their control that I would change is getting hotels closer to city centers. In Frankfurt our tour stayed in a hotel outside of city center with very little food or night life options. A word of advice if you take this tour and would like to go to Van Goh museum or Ann Frank House.... book at least 1-2 months in advance. Thank you for a great vacation! Jon and Sally

European Discovery (Summer, Start Amsterdam, Classic, 12 Days)
European Highlights
I enjoyed visiting all the places that were on the tour and to see the beauty of everything. However, it was very disappointing to not visit the lake Como which was the main reason I joined the tour. Overall the rest of it was a good experience and loved it.
Balkan Discovery (4 Star Hotels)
I really enjoyed my trip to the Balkans. Simon was a fantastic guide and always went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable. He was very knowledgeable and even brought his own stories too. The tour exceeded all expectations I had and I would recommend to anyone.
- €150 deposit on some dates Some departure dates offer you the chance to book this tour with a lower deposit.
ScanBaltic Tour
I did the ScanBaltic tour during the winter holiday season and it is a lot of distance to cover within a short amount of days. While I did greatly enjoy the trip, the Scandinavian part of the trip had several bumps in the road and did not leave much time to actual explore and experience the cities. We spent many hours on the bus during the day often arriving to the cities in the evening after the museums and major tourist destinations are already closed, so all you could do was eat maybe a dinner and briefly walk around for 2-3 hours before going to the hotel. Days are short in the winter so you couldn’t really see many of the main spots in the evening either. Additionally with this tour, the Spanish speaking tour guide did a much better thorough explanation of the history and description of our destinations than the English speaking one. We often had to ask some of the bilingual group members for the full information of what the Spanish speaking tour guide relayed. The big problem of the Scandinavian part of the tour was our bus getting pulled over by the police in Norway where we sat on a bus for 3 hours and we’re not allowed to leave, before anyone told us anything. This resulted in our New Years being spent at a gas station in Norway. We also missed Aarhus and time in Odense due to disorganization. However, once I joined up with the next group for the Baltics tour it was AMAZING. The tour guide Jose provided a lot of information about our destinations, and it was the same in both Spanish, English, and Portuguese. He was extremely helpful with giving tips and taking care of everyone in the tour group. He really made it a personal experience. This part of the tour also had a great amount of time allocated for each city and we could actually go to museums, main tourist spots, shops, etc. And experience the city and culture. For solo travelers: I went as a solo female traveler. On the Scandinavian part of the tour, there were several solo travelers both male and female in the group whom were very welcoming and ended up coming together as a group to make sure no one was alone for the holidays. I felt completely safe throughout the entire duration of the tour. I opted for the option to do a room share but never ended up being placed in a room with another solo traveler. I got lucky and had a private room 17/17 days. General clarification: when signing up for the tour, it will say look at the boards in the hotel for information about tours, departure times, etc. I was a little nervous about this and why a group chat in WhatsApp wasn’t just used to convey this information. You only have to look at the reception for information about the start of your tour on day 1. Any other day, your guides will tell you exactly what time and where you will need to be to depart and/or go on tours. My only suggestion would be for the Scandinavian tour to have 2-3 extra days added or maybe traveler between cities in the winter after the sun goes down at 4 so then people can sight see and tour museums during the daylight and when everything is still open. Overall it was the trip of a lifetime. Made new friends and a unforgettable memories. I hope this review helps for those booking in the future :)
- River Cruise
Romantic Rhine (Southbound) 2024
Loved the tour and the included excursions. It would have been good to spend less time in Amsterdam and extra time sailing during the day. Also, a disco of an evening would be great!
Britain and Ireland Delight (Summer, 8 Days)
The experience was excellent, would definitely recommend to my friends and family visiting. The tour director and the driver were so thoughtful and kind throughout the tour.
What people love about Fully Guided Tours in Europe
The tour was awesome. Too bad it was short. Our Tour leader Noddy perform extremely well job organizing and controlling our big group so we was on time everywhere. Our driver Dennis professionalism is off the charts. Especially when we was driving through narrow streets of Italy. I would recommend this tour to others
As a first time traveler to Europe, this was the best way to get to know some of the many beautiful and historic cities in Europe. The selection of all the countries and cities were purposeful in that there was some historical fact that we learned at each one. The tour guides knew their history and were fun, energetic and kind.
Eva and Rene were amazing tour guides. Disappointed that we didn't see the Eiffel Tower at night. Several times we were dropped in town at night with not enough time to get a meal before being taken to the hotel. Some hotels were out of town with nothing within walking distance. Thank you to Rene for arranging for a group of us to go to the Moulin Rouge.

Day 3 Paris
Today promises a day full of exciting activities. Following our visit, we'll return to Paris then transfer to the charming Montmartre district. For those interested, this evening optional tours to either the Moulin Rouge or the famous L´Oiseau Paradis Latin show with dinner are available to purchase on tour. See below for more details.
Optional Tours:
MOULIN ROUGE SHOW (€145pp) And how could you miss the Parisian night by attending the oldest and most famous cabaret in the world? We talk about the "Moulin Rouge", with more than one hundred years of history. It evokes the moments of the Belle Epoque, in the Parisian district of Pigalle where the concept of the French "varieté" began through great choreographers like the famous French painter Toulouse-Lautrec. More than 100 artists on stage, including 60 dancers from around the world, gigantic aquarium, international attractions and the famous French Cancan. All with one of the fastest scene changes in the world. A show that will not be forgotten. Entry of children under 6 years is not allowed.
DURATION: 2hrs
INCLUDED: Round-trip transport service from and to the hotel. Table reservation. Tips included. Show with 1/2 bottle of French champaign per person.
SHOW PARADIS LATIN WITH DINNER (€165pp) With the show L´Oiseau Paradis, the Paradis Latin immerses the spectators in a magical world. Performed in a historic room from the Napoleon era and restored by the engineer Gustave Eiffel, the show begins at the entrance hall of the cabaret, where the artists immerse the guests in a surreal and striking atmosphere. This is followed by an hour and a half show during which creatures, dancers, actors, singers, comedians and acrobats in a succession of exceptional scenes enhanced by special effects. A cast signed by Alain Lagrande, renowned creator of sets for operas, musicals and plays. More than 500 costumes created by the Parisian haute couture house "On Aura tout vu". This modern show respects the codes of the cabaret and the Parisian revue that privilege the glamour and the French cancan. Upon arrival you will have dinner accompanied by live music, the menu prepared by the prestigious restaurateur Guy Savoy, ambassador of French gastronomy, then you will enjoy the one and a half hour show.
DURATION: 2 hrs show
INCLUDED: Transfer to and from the hotel. Table reservation. Tips included. Show with dinner included.
Note: Optional tours are bookable directly while on tour. Minimum numbers may apply for certain tours to operate. Prices are indicative only and subject to change.
Moulin Rouge Show: Due to high demand and limited availability, we suggest to purchase this activity in advance by booking directly on the Moulin Rouge website.

These are the cheapest European package holidays for summer 2024
The likes of Spain, Greece and Italy are surprisingly some of the most affordable, according to Which? Travel
Plenty of us love the freedom of browsing for the most convenient flights and then for the perfect little hotel. However, sometimes it’s nice to save on time, faff and money by booking a package holiday – and thanks to a new ranking, we now know exactly where to go for the cheapest package trips across Europe .
The experts at Which? Travel have analysed over 4,500 holidays that are still available to book for this summer, and compiled a list of the ten cheapest destinations offering a package deal.
And the best value deals might not be where you’d expect. Places such as Bulgaria and Türkiye have garnered quite the budget-friendly rep, but classic holiday hot spots such as Greece , Spain and Italy actually boast some of the cheapest options for 2024.
Claiming the top spot is Kalymnos , a lesser-known Dodecanese island in Greece characterised by secluded little coves and ridiculously blue waters. The cheapest holiday was £794 per person, but the average here is £847 (€987.50). Given it’s around a 40-minute boat ride from Kos, that’s a pretty good deal.
In fourth place, it’s the Costa Brava in Spain – we know, we’re shocked too. The gorgeous stretch of coast just north of Barcelona has some cracking beaches, and the package holiday price here is around £952 (€1,110) per person.
But the biggest and maybe most pleasant surprise of all is that the Amalfi Coast has made the top 10, in spot number six. At around £977 (€1,139), this typically expensive region actually boasts a couple of low-key resorts such as Minori and Maiori , which are great options for a cheaper getaway. What ’ s more, the region will soon be getting an airport , finally !
These are the 10 cheapest European package holiday destinations, according to Which? Travel
- Kalymnos, Greece (£847, €987.50)
- Thassos, Greece (£862, €1,005)
- Lefkada, Greece (£935, €1,090)
- Costa Brava, Spain (£952, €1,110)
- Venetian Riviera, Italy (£965, €1,125)
- Amalfi Coast, Italy (£977, €1,139)
- Skopelos, Greece (£985, €1,148)
- Costa de la Luz, Spain (£994, €1,159)
- Campania, Italy (£998, €1,164)
- Malta (£1,006, €1,173)
