Floydian Trip is New England’s Premier Pink Floyd Tribute. Fans of classic Pink Floyd music will be elated as Floydian Trip recreates Floyd’s heavily celebrated touring years. Floydian Trip brings back the sounds and energy of Pink Floyd from their Dark Side of The Moon tour through The Wall tour. From Time to Comfortably Numb. From Pigs (Three Different Ones) to Wish You Were Here. Floydian Trip has been working tirelessly to nail the sound of Pink Floyd in their prime. The band’s personal love and dedication to the music shines through on every note they play. Floydian Trip will be performing Dark Side of The Moon along with Wish You Were Here in their entirety (along with other Pink Floyd classics) in celebration of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of The Moon’s 50th anniversary. The Glove Theatre presents Floydian Trip, New England's premier Pink Floyd Experience. More than a tribute group, Floydian Trip brings the sights, sounds, and spirit of Pink Floyd in an immersive evening that's definitely not just "another brick in the wall"!

Pink Floyd quickly became known for their visuals and light shows. The band has said that they weren’t much to look at so they needed to present something else while performing live. Early on, they used oil and light projections to create a stunning visual. From Dark Side of The Moon on, Floyd began using films, more lighting, and effects to conjure the mood and emotion of the music they were writing and performing. Floydian Trip combines the best of the early Floyd years and later years to make each show a visually pleasing experience. Whether through projections, lasers, lights, or other effects, Floydian Trip creates a spectacular experience

Floydian Trip aims to recreate some of the spectacular and moving live performances that Pink Floyd became known for in the 1970s and 1980s. This era is sometimes known as the “Roger Waters Years.” Floydian Trip recreates the sound in both the performance and tone of how Floyd would have been heard if you were seeing them live on stage during the Dark Side of the Moon Tour, Wish You Were Here Tour, In the Flesh (Pink Floyd) Tour, or The Wall Tour. Floydian Trip painstakingly recreates the classic Pink Floyd live experience. The band has poured over thousands of hours of official, unofficial, and bootleg audio and video of Pink Floyd between 1973 and 1981 in order to create the most authentic live Pink Floyd experience you can witness.

Description.

Hailing from Newington, Connecticut, Floydian Trip is a Pink Floyd cover band that makes you want to bust out those dusty records one more time. Floydian Trip concentrates on the arena rock era of Floyd, ranging from Dark Side of the Moon to The Wall. The band’s musicianship and attention to detail will transport you back to a bygone era where pigs flew and bands rocked.

The Friday Night summer concert series is held at Washington Park, Meridian Street in Groton. All concerts start at 6:30 pm and are co-sponsored and co-produced by Groton Utilities and the City of Groton Parks and Recreation Department.

The concerts are designed to be especially appealing to families for a fun, inexpensive night out. Spectators are encouraged to bring their families and enjoy the food trucks and concession stand. The concert site also has sufficient room on the basketball court for dancing.

The guys and gals in Floydian Trip were a pleasure to work with, they put on a great show here at The Barn, and we cant wait to have them back for another show.

Very close to the original Pink Floyd!

Floydian Trip has only been in existence for a matter of months and they are already creating amazing music on stage! I am a big Pink Floyd fan since Dark Side of The Moon was released. When I was a college radio DJ, I actually introduced "Wish You Were Here" to the radio audience just days after the album's release. I've seen the original Pink Floyd perform live and this band comes remarkably close to the original sound. They've got it down pretty well. I highly recommend Floydian Trip to any Pink Floyd fan, or even to a simple fan of 1970s rock. They bring you right back to that era, and it feels good to be back. I can't wait to hear 'Dogs' and 'Pigs On The Wing' live again.

Incredible performance!

Floydian trip played The Barn on 7/29 and it was an incredible show! This is a mega talented group who is absolutely passionate about their music - and their interpretation of Pink Floyd left The Barn crowd in utter amazement.

SOUND SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS:

CONSOLE 32x8 w/8 aux sends

STAGE POWER 8 each 20 amp quad boxes

It is important that the house speaker stacks are at least a 3-way or 4-way system, and those they have electronic crossovers (passive crossovers are unacceptable). The system should also be in stereo.

The main sound system must meet or exceed the following requirements: 1. Deliver at least 110 db undistorted SPL to all audience areas, with minimum two Mid/high boxes and two double 18 subs for small venues. 2. (1/3) Octave stereo equalization control over the main sound system and located at the house console. 3. House console should be a professional 32 x 8 console with 8 auxiliary sends. It is important that each channel has a switch able input pad (at least -15db) and has at least 4 auxiliary sends (PRE/POST BUTTON). 4. A professional quality digital delay and 2 reverb units to be provided as outboard effects on the house console.

The main sound system must meet or exceed the following requirements: 5. PURCHASER shall provide for a qualified sound engineer representing the contracted sound company during entire sound check and performance.

2024 Summer Concert Series

We are excited about the lineup for this years Sounds of Summer Concert Series and hope you, your family and friends will join us for some great tunes, yummy food, and fresh air! 

All performances will take place on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm, but the location alternates between the Landing, Plattwood Park and the Town Green to showcase our beautiful parks!

July 11th at Plattwood Park: DB Kinney (food by Chris' Dog House) Formed in 2019, DB.KINNEY performs rock covers from the 90's to now, and original radio-friendly tunes.

July 18th at the Town Green: Floydian Trip (food by Deep River Pizza) Floydian Trip aims to recreate some of the spectacular and moving live performances that Pink Floyd became known for in the 1970s and 1980s. August 1st at the Town Green: Katie Perkins Band (food by Apizza Grande) Katie is currently working on her third studio album with Producer/Engineer and Recording Academy voting member, Brian Sargent. The new single  “Take My Hand” is backed by the talent of drummer Ben Sesar (Brad Paisley), Andy Hall on dobro (Zac Brown, Dolly Parton,Infamous Stringdusters), and Brian Sargent on upright bass, mandolin, acoustic guitar and backing vocals. Katie’s soulful, crystal-clear vocals have been compared to Alison Krauss, Carrie Underwood and Lauren Alaina. Her captivating voice has grabbed the attention of a rapidly growing fan-base. Katie Perkins is a passionate vocalist as well as an unstoppable and driven artist whose powerful live performance should not be missed.

August 15th at Plattwood Park: Shorebreak  (food by DaVinvi Pizza) Shorebreak is a 4 piece indie rock band playing original music with a wide range of influences.
