God Loves You Tour Update 2023

Dear friend,.

What a privilege and honor it was to see God move through the God Loves You Tour in London a few weeks ago. During last year’s event in the city, I saw a deep hunger for the Gospel, and I praise God that He opened the door for me to return.

More than 130 buses brought men, women, and children from all over England and Wales to ExCeL London, and by the time the event began, more than 10,500 people had gathered —far exceeding last year’s attendance.

The night began with powerful worship from Dennis Agajanian, CeCe Winans, Newsboys, and Michael W. Smith, then I shared the Good News that “Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3:18, ESV). When I gave the invitation for those gathered to surrender their lives to Him, 870 people responded by making life-changing decisions for the Lord.

Will you pray for each of these brothers and sisters? Ask God to help them become faithful witnesses and share His love with others.

Never Too Late for the Gospel

Faizah* was brought to the God Loves You Tour event by her daughter, Jahara,* who is a Christian. The 91-year-old came from a devout Muslim family and background. For years Jahara had prayed that she would listen to the Gospel of Jesus Christ with an open mind and surrender her life to Him. Faizah agreed to accompany her daughter to the event in London—and God answered Jahara’s prayers. When Franklin finished preaching and invited the audience to make a decision for Christ, Faizah responded by surrendering her life to the Lord in repentance and faith. She couldn’t stop smiling as she talked to one of our prayer counselors with her daughter by her side. We gave Faizah a new Bible and discipleship resources to help her grow closer to Jesus Christ, and Faizah said she planned to begin attending church with her daughter right away.

Down to Her Last Penny

Kalena* used her last bit of cash to get to the event in London. The young woman—who recently came to the U.K. from Eastern Europe—was looking for hope and eager to hear the Gospel. She listened carefully as Franklin “proclaimed the word of the Lord” (Acts 15:36, ESV) and the Holy Spirit worked powerfully in her mind and heart. At the end of the event, she responded to the invitation by praying to receive Jesus Christ in repentance and faith. One of our prayer volunteers talked to Kalena about the life-changing decision she had just made and gave her a new Bible. When Kalena explained that she didn’t know how she’d get home, a group of our volunteers helped her find transportation—and bought her food to make it through the following week. An Invitation Changed Their Lives

Rahul* and Samira* moved to London from India years ago but still felt lonely and isolated. They were looking for community when they became curious about Christianity and began watching church services online.

When someone handed them a flyer inviting them to the God Loves You Tour, the married couple decided to go. They were deeply touched when Franklin shared that “God is now proclaiming to mankind that all people everywhere are to repent” (Acts 17:30, NASB). Rahul and Samira both responded to the invitation by praying to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. They prayed heartfelt prayers of total surrender, asking God to align their will with His. One of our counselors talked to them about their decisions and gave them new Bibles and discipleship materials. Rahul and Samira thanked our counselor and talked about how eager they are to deepen their new faith.

They Came by the Busload

A family of four came to the event on a bus with their church from Nottingham. The nearly three-hour bus ride didn’t dampen the children’s excitement about the event. The father, Seun,* originally from Nigeria, listened carefully to the message Franklin Graham shared about the prodigal son—who eventually returned home to his father. Deeply moved, Seun rededicated his life to the Lord, realizing that he had strayed in recent years. To his great joy, his two children also made life-changing decisions for Jesus Christ. Abioye,* 12, confidently told a prayer counselor, “This is an important decision because I want to be with the Lord our Savior.” His sister also walked forward to pray—with childlike faith—and receive Christ.

Repentance Without Regret

Mindy* attended the event with her parents, who are both believers. For weeks, her parents had been praying that the 9-year-old would make her own decision for Jesus Christ. Although Mindy had grown up hearing about Him, she had not yet recognized her own sinfulness or her need for salvation. Mindy paid close attention as Franklin preached the Gospel. As he finished the message, Mindy burst into tears. “I can’t take it anymore,” she told her dad. She explained that she had been feeling guilty over her sin, and now she was ready to embrace “salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth” (2 Thessalonians 2:13, NASB). She prayed a heartfelt prayer of repentance and talked to her parents about her decision. Please pray for Mindy as she walks with the Lord.

Franklin Graham bringing God Loves You Tidewater Tour to Hampton Roads

Six-city tour will bring live music and a life-changing message of hope to Portsmouth on May 6

CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 10, 2023 — Franklin Graham is sharing a message of God’s love in six cities across Virginia, North Carolina, and Maryland this spring, and he’s bringing an evening of music and hope to Portsmouth on the fifth stop of the tour. “This coastal area is a beautiful place with such a rich history, but like every area of our country, there are many people who don’t know God. So many are searching and struggling. I simply want them to know that God cares for them and has a plan for their lives,” said Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. “The world is changing so quickly—record inflation, bank failures, surges in violent crime, the crisis in Ukraine—the list goes on. So many people are anxious about the future and don’t know where to turn. We are coming to remind people there is Good News! God loves us, and He sent His Son Jesus Christ to earth to save us from our sins.” On May 6, Graham will bring the God Loves You Tidewater Tour to Portsmouth. The festive, family-friendly event is free and everyone is invited to attend. Live music begins at 6:30 p.m. at the waterfront Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion. The tour is an outreach of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA). More than 115 churches and pastors in the Hampton Roads region and over 825 churches across all three states are partnering with BGEA for the six-city outreach because they believe the hope of the Bible needs to be shared in the tidewater regions of the East Coast. “The greatest dilemmas in our communities and the world today can be solved with Jesus Christ. Nothing can change and satisfy a person like the Gospel of Christ,” said Dr. Allen McFarland, senior pastor of Calvary Evangelical Baptist Church in Portsmouth. “There isn’t a government institution or political, religious, or secular party that can meet the desires of the human heart. Drugs, alcohol, people and organizations can’t do this either. Only Jesus Christ can satisfy the human heart and soul.”   One of the most influential bands in Christian music history, Newsboys, are joining the tour, and they will perform live at each event. Newsboys have had 33 No. 1 radio hits, four Grammy nominations and two American Music Award nominations. Marcos Witt is also performing live on the tour. He is one of the most iconic Spanish-speaking Christian music artists in the world and has received five Latin Grammys and two Billboard awards. Award-winning musician Dennis Agajanian, who has performed at Billy Graham’s and Franklin Graham’s evangelistic events for more than 45 years, will also be joining the tour.

UNITED KINGDOM — Following the successful God Loves You Tour events in Liverpool, South Wales, Sheffield, and London last year, when thousands of people heard a message of hope and God’s love from the Bible, Rev Franklin Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) have remained committed to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ across the UK.

‘We are excited to return to London again this year and to have an opportunity to preach the Gospel in Glasgow,’ Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, said. ‘We are grateful for the thousands of Christians and hundreds of churches that have stood alongside us in recent years and continued praying for this tour to come to their cities. We saw hundreds of people turn to Jesus Christ in faith last year, and we believe this is God’s timing for many more people in London and Glasgow to hear the message of God’s great love for them.’

In preparation for the upcoming outreach in London, Christians from nearly 1,000 churches across the city are partnering with Rev Graham and BGEA because they believe there is a continued need for the hope-filled message of the Bible to be shared in their communities.

Franklin Graham's 'God Loves You Tour' Reaches 10,000 in London, Next Stop Scotland

More than 10,000 people heard the gospel of Jesus Christ preached Saturday night at London's ExCel Center as evangelist Franklin Graham returned once again to the United Kingdom with his God Loves You Tour.  

"I want to say a few words to you tonight because I believe there are people here who have hurting hearts. A lot of people here have been searching and looking and trying to find purpose to what their life is all about," Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), told the audience. "I'm here to say this to you tonight—God loves you! He loves you, and He sent His Son Jesus Christ from heaven to this earth to save you from your sins."

In a tweet, Graham, 71, wrote, "I thank God for the hundreds who came forward at the invitation to turn from their sin & put their faith & trust in Jesus Christ last night. Their lives are changed for eternity!"

Christians from more than 1,000 churches throughout London partnered with Graham and BGEA for the outreach because they believe there is a continued need for the hope-filled message of the Bible to be shared in their communities, according to the BGEA. The organization also noted this year's attendance at the London event exceeded last year's attendance by several thousand.

The BGEA has also announced Graham's God Loves You Tour will make a stop on June 22, 2024, at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, Click Here . 

After preaching in London, Graham is scheduled to share the gospel in Essen, Germany, and Rome, Italy this fall. 

Last year, Graham brought a successful tour to the cities of Liverpool, South Wales, Sheffield, and London where thousands of people heard a message of hope and God's love from the Bible.

Over 8,000 people traveled from around the U.K. to hear Franklin Graham preach in Birmingham on Saturday night.

It was the American evangelist's first time in the Midlands, with his visit coming 40 years since his late father, world renowned evangelist Billy Graham, preached the Gospel in nearby Villa Park.

"Jesus Christ is not dead. He's alive and He's here tonight," said Graham to cheers and applause inside the Birmingham Resorts World Arena.

Graham is back in the U.K. to continue his God Loves You Tour , with another night coming up in Glasgow on June 22.

His thoughts turning momentarily to his father, who preached many times in the U.K., Graham said, "I miss him and every time I come to this country I think of him because he loved this nation, he loved the people of this country."

Birmingham was one of the eight cities that Graham had originally planned to visit in 2020, but it was postponed due to legal action against seven venues that canceled their legally binding contracts. The tour was eventually able to go ahead after the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association took successful legal action against the venues.

Last night, Graham preached from Luke 19, which tells the story of the salvation of Zacchaeus, a wealthy chief tax collector who put his faith in Christ and vowed to pay back fourfold anyone he had robbed.

The event was prayerfully supported by 500 churches around the U.K., with worship led by Michael W. Smith and former Hillsong worship leader Taya.
