The seven peaks of the hills represent the seven heads of Adisesha. Adisesha or Seshnaga is the king of all snakes. The building of the temple is built in the Dravidian style and construction started sometime in 300 AD. Subsequent rulers of the region such as the Pallava and Chola dynasties were ardent devotees of Lord Venkateswara. They made sizeable donations towards the upkeep and construction of additional structures to the existing temple. There are three entrances to the temple called Dwarams. The first entrance is called the Mahadwaram or Padikavali, the second one is called Vendivakili  or Nadimipadikavali,  and the third one is called Nadimipadikavali . The sanctum sanctorum or Garbhagribha is where the lord resides along with other deities. There are strict rules to be followed by devotees wishing for a darshan. The prasadam, also known as 'naivedhyam,' is much-sought-after and pilgrims often carry it for their loved ones back home.

The temple receives 50,000 to 1,00,000 pilgrims each day and on special occasions such as  Brahmotsavams, the number can shoot up to 5,00,000. Day 1: Kochi – Munnar

Morning arrival at Kochi. transfer to Munnar enjoying the scenic beauty & the marvelous waterfalls, high mountains with the low flying clouds passing by. Munnar is one of the hottest honeymoon destinations of Kerala. On the way visit Valara, Cheeyappara waterfalls, Karadippara view point etc. On arrival at Munnar check in at your resort. In the evening you can go for Munnar sightseeing and witness tea gardens spread like a green carpet over hundreds of kilometers, lust green hills, a place so difficult to describe. Day 2: Munnar

After breakfast spend the day with local sightseeing. Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale, Munnar is 1600 Meter above sea level. This majestic hill station was once the summer resort of the British government in South India. Local sightseeing of Munnar includes visit to Mattupetty Dam, Kundale Lake and Echo point. Afternoon proceed to Rajamalai were the rarest species of mountain goat, “Nilgiri Thars”, can be spotted. Overnight stay is arranged at Munnar.

Day 3: Munnar – Thekkady

After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Thekkady (200 km, 6 hours drive), on arrival check into the hotel. Proceed for the sightseeing tour of Thekkady – one of the world’s most fascinating wild life reserves. The Periyar wild life sanctuary in Thekkady is spread across 777 sq km of which 360 sq km is thick ever green forest. Noted for its geomorphology, diversity of wild life and scenic beauty, the sanctuary was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978. Optional activities like Boating at Periyar Lake, Spice Plantation visit, Bamboo Rafting, Trekking and Elephant Ride can be done at an extra cost. Overnight stay is arranged in Thekkady.

Day 4: Thekkady- Kochi

After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Kochi Airport (2 ½ Hours drive) for onward journey.
