Schwinn-Built X-tra Lite lug frames for LeTour models are made of 18 gauge 1020 carbon steel tubing which has retained its original temper, stiffness and resilliency because it has been torch brazed and therefore has been heated and water quenched only where the tubes are brazed into the lugs.

Many mass-produced bicycle frames are heated in ovens or salt solutions in thier entirely, tubing and all, to over 1700 degrees fahrenheit in order to melt the brazing material in the joints, thus annealing the tubing and chaging its temper and resillency.

Even if these annealed frames are quenced after heating, the integrity of the original tubing has been lost and variations in resiliency will result in lack of consistency in the riding characteristics of the finished bicycles. Torch brazing permits better quality control for better riding performance.

Why Torch Brazed Frames are More Responsive...

Schwinn built X-tra Lite LeTour lug frames are made of 18 gauge 1020 carbon steel tubing with its original temper, Stiffness and resiliency because it has been carefully torch brazed. The frame has been heated only where the tubes are brazed into the lugs. Many mass-produced bicycle frames are heated in ovens or salt solutions in their entirely, to over 1700 F, in order to melt the brazing material in the joints.

This can anneal the entire frame and changes its temper and resiliency. The result are unresponsice and "dead" riding characteristics in the finished bicycle. Torch brazing preserves the tubing's integrity for a lively ride and also permits better quality control for better riding performance.

For those who enjoy an X-tra Lite bike but prefer the comfort and convenienve of a touring saddle and upright handlebars, here is a new Schwinn model that makes good sense- the LeTour Tourist. The basic equipment on the Tourist is identical to the popular LeTour- including the brazed lug frame for a lively, responsive ride. In addition, it offers Bluemels fenders, side-pull caliper brakes and Schwinn's comfortable handlebar grips.

The Blumels fenders go further around the tires, to help keep you from being splattered. In wet conditions, however, stopping distances are still increased dramatically and high-pressure tires can be very slippery. If you must ride in foul weather, be very careful.

What year bike do I have? Dating a Schwinn Le Tour

Here are some tips for dating a Schwinn Le Tour visually.

If the fork has a chrome tip the bike is 1982 or older.

If the fork is painted with no chrome, it is 1983 or newer.

Brake Levers

If the brake levers have a safety lever the bike is 1983 or older Le Tour. I don’t believe the Super Le Tour ever came with safety levers on the brakes.

If the brakes are combined with the shifters (STI) the bike is 2007 or newer.

If the bike has stem mounted shift levers it is 1983 or older.

Down tube shifters – 1984 or newer Le Tour or Super Le Tour of any year.

If the bike has STI shifters (brakes and shifters combined on the bars), then it is a 2007-2011 model.

10 speed – 1982 or older Le Tour, 1976-1978 Super Le Tour

12 speed – 1983-1989 Le Tour, 1979-1985 Super Le Tour

14 speed – 1995-1999 Le Tour

I have a Schwinn, not sure of the year. It has metric tires when I went to order a new inner tube.

Interesting. Do you know the model?

Do I need to work out before I head off on a long ride. So that I get my muscles used to pedaling.

Take shorter rides and get used to your bike.

Hiking and mountain biking between France and Switzerland. From the Charamillon cable car, you will meet along the paths the herds of the last breeders of the valley with fabulous views.

The most courageous will go as far as the Aiguillette des Posettes, famous for its fabulous view of all the surrounding peaks. There are also marked mountain bike trails for beginners and advanced riders (see page 38).

Le tour / vallorcine / balme ski resort information area.

Domaine du Balme is probably the best ski area in the valley for beginners and intermediates. At the bottom three drag lifts make up the Vormaine area, ideal for complete novices or children with its green and blue runs.

Off the back-side of Le Tour there is plenty of off-piste - this is arguably the favourite area of boarder's in the Chamonix Valley.

The main ski area consists of 19 pistes in total - 1 black, 7 reds and 11 blues. A new chairlift on the Vallorcine side of the valley has opened up the ski area enormously, adding an extra 4 or 5 runs not to mention the off piste in Le Balme Le Tour & Vallorcine Ski Area opportunities.

There is an idyllic off piste run through the trees right down to the train station at Vallorcine. After an aprés-ski drink at the station bar a scenic train ride back into the Chamonix valley is a great way to finish the day.

There are restaurant facilities at Charamillon. Although the parking is fairly good at Le Tour the Chamonix free bus is the best way to get there.

How to access Le Tour Balme and Vallorcine Ski Area

Normally we say that Le Tour Vallorcine and Balme Ski Area/Resort is the easiest one of the all Chamonix Valley. It's good and perfect for a first day of skiing. The runs are in most Blues and Green, with some easy reds.

You have two access ways to this ski resort/area. By the village of Le Tour or by the village of Vallorcine. Both ways are equipped with very recent cable cars. It's a perfect spot to be in a good weather day. Not only because it's 100% sun exposed but also because you have the most beautiful view of the all Chamonix Valley.

E le notizie non sono confortanti. Dopo il grave incidente subìto il 4 aprile scorso al Giro dei Paesi Baschi - perforazione di un polmone e fratture di costole e clavicola – il danese è tornato in bici qualche settimana fa (7 maggio) nel suo Paese, prima di trasferirsi alcuni giorni a Maiorca, dove ha affrontato percorsi più mossi e impegnativi. Da qualche giorno si è trasferito in quota sulle Alpi a Tignes (1810 metri), dove completerà il recupero prima di essere raggiunto dai compagni di squadra della Visma-Lease a Bike dopo il Delfinato. "Il suo corpo sta ancora guarendo e questo sottrae energie al normale processo di adattamento agli allenamenti - ha dichiarato il suo allenatore Tim Heemskerk -. Facciamo il massimo e cerchiamo di portare a termine ogni giorno un piano vincente, ma non c’è molto tempo. Monitoreremo la situazione giorno per giorno e sperare che sia abbastanza in forma per correre il Tour". Ma il problema è questo: quali compagni?

L'offerta scade tra

Les européennes 2024, tour de chauffe avant 2027 : « On aura la photo de départ de la présidentielle »

Dimanche soir, en France, tous les partis auront les yeux rivés sur les résultats du scrutin européen. Un vote qui aura valeur de premier test grandeur nature avant la présidentielle. De quoi permettre aux uns et aux autres de se jauger et d’évaluer les rapports de force.

Si ce dimanche soir, toutes les écuries politiques scruteront les résultats des élections européennes , c’est aussi parce qu’elles auront en tête une autre échéance : celle de 2027. « Le 9 juin au soir, on aura la photo de départ de la présidentielle », anticipe le président du groupe LR à l’Assemblée, Olivier Marleix. « Dimanche à 20 heures, on rentre dans la présidentielle », renchérit Philippe Olivier, le conseiller de Marine Le Pen.

Certes, comme le rappelle un ténor de la majorité, « les européennes ne structurent pas les élections qui suivent ». Mais il n’en demeure pas moins que ce scrutin est non seulement le premier depuis les législatives de 2022 mais également le seul à caractère national jusqu’à la prochaine mère des batailles.

En macronie, de grandes manœuvres attendues en coulisse

De quoi permettre aux uns et aux autres de se jauger et d’évaluer leurs forces. À commencer par le Rassemblement national. Si la liste conduite par Jordan Bardella obtenait le score canon que les enquêtes d’opinion lui prédisent (32 % selon notre sondage Ipsos publié ce jeudi), le parti se sentirait pousser des ailes.

« Si on est à 30 %, ce sera un séisme après le tremblement de terre politique des législatives. On nous désignerait comme la force d’alternance », se réjouit déjà un cadre RN. « Mais ce serait aussi un sacré défi pour Marine Le Pen. Elle se retrouverait en pole position, avec deux ans et demi à tenir. Ça peut lui jouer des tours », se rassure toutefois un cadre LR.

Du côté de la majorité, où les sondages sont très sévères pour la tête de liste Valérie Hayer (15,5 % dans notre dernière enquête Ipsos en partenariat avec Radio France ), les grandes manœuvres devraient s’accentuer… dans la coulisse. « Il y aura deux niveaux. La partie immergée de l’iceberg : le président de la République essaiera de faire le moins de changements possibles pour banaliser ce vote. Et sous la surface : il y aura un mélange de débats idéologiques et de bal des ambitions », assure un ancien ministre.

De quoi donner des fourmis dans les jambes aux prétendants à la succession d’Emmanuel Macron. Édouard Philippe, en particulier, qui réunira ses troupes dès lundi lors d’un bureau politique pour tirer le bilan des européennes. Une forme d’accélération pour l’ex-Premier ministre, qui ne fait pas mystère de ses ambitions pour 2027 ? « Je n’y crois pas. Édouard a son rythme, sa stratégie », coupe court un de ses lieutenants. « Ce qui est sûr, c’est que nous n’avons rien piloté durant cette campagne européenne », tient à souligner un autre. Une façon, déjà, de se démarquer de la macronie.

À gauche, recomposition en perspective

C’est plutôt à gauche que la guerre des tranchées pourrait être lancée dès dimanche. Si, conformément aux sondages, la liste PS-place publique conduite par Raphaël Glucksmann parvenait à talonner, voire dépasser, celle de la majorité, les socialistes reprendraient des couleurs. Une résurrection après leur famélique 1,75 % de la dernière présidentielle .

Et de quoi changer les équilibres avec la France insoumise de Jean-Luc Mélenchon, même si sa candidate, Manon Aubry ‚ semble, selon les sondages, bénéficier d’une petite dynamique en cette fin de campagne. Les frondeurs Insoumis, de François Ruffin, en passant par Alexis Corbière ou encore Clémentine Autain entendent bien, en tout cas, donner de la voix dans les prochains jours. Le début d’une recomposition qui s’annonce longue et compliquée.

Chez LR, où François-Xavier Bellamy est à 7 % dans les sondages , on espère plutôt sauver les meubles. « Notre objectif, c’est de rétablir la hiérarchie par rapport à Reconquête », lâche un haut cadre du parti, qui rappelle que le parti d’Éric Zemmour, dont la tête de liste Marion Maréchal est à la peine dans cette campagne (5,5 % dans notre sondage jeudi), avait largement distancé Les Républicains en 2022. De quoi redonner des — modestes — espoirs aux LR.

L a série noire continue pour Boeing . Alors que les incidents se multiplient ces derniers mois, un récent accident sur un Boeing 777 alimente à nouveau la polémique. Les passagers du vol Toronto – Paris Charles de Gaulle ont vécu une belle frayeur ce mercredi 5 juin. En effet, comme le rapporte La Dépêche , le Boeing 777-330 ER a rencontré un problème peu de temps après avoir décollé, alors que le vol de près de 7 heures devait relier la France.

Pendant que le Boeing 777 entamait son ascension, les pilotes ont rapidement demandé un retour et un atterrissage d'urgence. Après 50 minutes de vol à basse altitude, les 389 passagers ont atterri de nouveau à Toronto. Une grande frayeur, certes, mais sans conséquence grave, ajoutant toutefois un nouvel incident au palmarès du constructeur aéronautique américain.

Les 389 passagers à bord ont pu observer en plein vol un des moteurs de l'avion s'enflammer en raison du « décrochage du compresseur », comme l'indique Airlive . Dans l'enregistrement de la conversation entre les pilotes et la tour de contrôle, on entend les contrôleurs prévenir leurs collègues : « Tu as beaucoup de feu ».

Une série noire

Le constructeur américain est confronté à une série de défaillances. Le 5 janvier dernier, lors du décollage d'un de ses avions, la porte d'urgence s'est brusquement détachée. Deux mois plus tard, une situation similaire s'était produite lorsque l'une des roues s'était détachée d'un appareil pendant le décollage. En mai, un vol a été contraint à un atterrissage d'urgence en raison d'une odeur de brûlé dans la cabine. À LIRE AUSSI États-Unis : un Boeing fait demi-tour après avoir perdu un capot de moteur en plein décollage Peu après, un autre Boeing a réalisé un atterrissage sur le nez, le train d'atterrissage n'ayant pas été déployé. Suite à ces incidents, l'Agence de la sécurité aérienne (FAA) a pris la décision de placer l'avionneur sous tutelle. 

Début juin, des employés et des représentants syndicaux de la plus grande usine de l'avionneur, située à Washington, ont affirmé être victimes de harcèlement de la part de leurs supérieurs.

Plutôt que Boeing, ne faut il pas plutôt incriminer le moteur ? "Deux moteurs General Electric GE GE GE90-115BL2 propulsent l'avion". Heureusement qu'un des deux fonctionnait encore. Au fait, quels moteurs sur les Airbus ? CFM, ce ne serait pas aussi des GE ?

Donc piur toi, tout va bien. Des incidents marginaux ne devraient pas engendrer de réactions ? On est loin d’une balade en vélo où il faut poser la rustine…

Pour le coup Boeing n’est pas en cause puisqu’il s’agit d’un problème de moteur qui n’est pas fabriqué par Boeing. Apparement il s’agit d’un pompage réacteur qui peut s’arrêter en réduisant la poussée du moteur. La flamme provient du carburant non brûlé dans le réacteur et qui s’enflamme à la sortie de la tuyère c’est spectaculaire mais pas dangereux contrairement au feu réacteur qui se produit à l’intérieur du moteur avec nécessité de percuter les extincteurs (2 par moteur). Le pilote transmet au contrôleur un message de panne et non de détresse (Mayday) ce qui relativise la gravité de la situation.

E s un hecho que The Eras Tour de Taylor Swift es uno de los espect�culos m�s impresionantes en la actualidad y la mejor muestra ha sido durante la escala de la gira en el estadio Murrayfield, de la ciudad de Edimburgo, Escocia, la noche de este viernes. La superestrella, de 34 a�os, mostr� nada menos que 12 cambios de vestuario.

Al subir al escenario, Taylor Swift mostr� un body con medias de rejilla y su caracter�stico lipstick color rojo. Posteriormente, se puso una camiseta blanca con la frase 'This Is Not Taylor's Version' mientras cantaba 22, que adem�s fue considerado como un posible gui�o a una nueva grabaci�n de un �lbum anterior.

Adem�s eligi� varios �xitos de su �ltimo �lbum, 'The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD) ' y otros cl�sicos, que mantuvieron a la multitud enloquecida.

Posteriormente, Taylor le regal� a una persona del p�blico su codiciado sombrero fedora, un elemento b�sico del tour. Se trata de un sombrero de fieltro negro, creaci�n de la dise�adora Gladys Tamez, en un gui�o al v�deo musical en el que se la ve luciendo el sombrero durante la mayor parte del clip, mientras porta una camiseta blanca con la frase: "No est�n pasando muchas cosas en este momento".

Esta costumbre, inici� durante la etapa de su gira por Estados Unidos en una escala en Glenfield, Arizona.

Al abrir el espect�culo, Taylor se dirigi� a la multitud y les dijo: "Qu� manera de darle la bienvenida a una muchacha a Escocia", mientras luc�a un brillante traje azul y dorado.

Otros cambios de vestimenta incluyeron un vestido rojo brillante para 'We'll Never Ever Get Back Together' y un vestido color lavanda para cantar ' Enchanted '.

Para interpretar 'Fearless' port� un minivestido con borlas negro y plateado que mantuvo para interpretar 'Look What You Made Me Do'.

Los fan�ticos han predicho que ciertos conjuntos, como su camiseta 'This Is Not Taylor's Version' y sus vestidos negros con lentejuelas podr�an ser un indicio de reputaci�n (Taylor's Version).

Antes del concierto, los 'Swifties' de Escocia recibieron con alegr�a al cantante cuando aterriz� en Edimburgo el viernes a la hora del almuerzo y subi� en un veh�culo con los cristales ahumados y acompa�ada por una escolta policial.

Se rumora que Taylor se hospeda en el popular Hotel Balmoral, donde presuntamente alquil� dos pisos completos, provocando que las habitaciones de hotel disponibles en la ciudad escasearan para sus seguidores, adem�s que triplicaron su costo, pese a triplicar sus tarifas durante la residencia de tres noches de la megaestrella.

Por ello, tambi�n lo habitantes de la ciudad alquilaron habitaciones en Airbnb hasta por $743 d�lares la noche, en promedio.
