Finnish guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari joined MEGADETH last September after the band's longtime axeman Kiko Loureiro , announced earlier that month that he would sit out the next leg of MEGADETH 's "Crush The World" tour in order to stay home with his children back in Finland. It was later revealed that Mäntysaari would continue to play guitar for MEGADETH for the foreseeable future, with Loureiro seemingly having no plans to return.
The 37-year-old Mäntysaari was born in Tampere, Finland and began playing guitar at the age of 12. In 2004, he joined the band WINTERSUN . He has also been a member of SMACKBOUND since 2015.
MEGADETH played its first concert with Mäntysaari on September 6, 2023 at Revel in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Loureiro officially joined MEGADETH in April 2015, about five months after Chris Broderick 's exit from the group.
Since its inception in 1983, MEGADETH has ascended from its raw thrash metal roots to become an unstoppable force in the heavy metal world. With founder Dave Mustaine at the helm, MEGADETH 's journey has been marked by a penchant for pushing the boundaries of speed, technicality, and complexity in their music. Their groundbreaking album "Rust In Peace" , released in 1990, is frequently cited as a seminal work in the thrash metal genre. Along with the critically acclaimed "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?" , it cemented MEGADETH 's place in the annals of metal history.
Over four decades, the band's discography has earned numerous certifications, including platinum and multi-platinum awards, with albums like "Countdown To Extinction" and "Youthanasia" achieving widespread critical acclaim. 2016's "Dystopia" not only marked a high point with their first Grammy Award for "Best Metal Performance" after twelve nominations but also set the stage for their latest triumph, "The Sick, The Dying... And The Dead!" in 2022. MEGADETH 's status as part of the "Big Four" of thrash metal underscores their trailblazing role in the genre, laying the groundwork for countless bands and musicians who have followed in their wake.

ABOUT MUDVAYNE
Described by music critics as math metal and neo-progressive rock, Mudvayne’s sonic musical experimentation is difficult to classify. Chad Gray, Greg Tribbett, Ryan Martinie and Matthew McDonough formed Mudvayne in the late 90’s in Peoria, IL. Their debut album L.D. 50 was released in 2000, with highlights “Dig” and “Death Bloom” achieving success at mainstream rock radio. To date the band has sold over six million records worldwide, including 2008’s The New Game and 2009’s Mudvayne. In 2010, the band went on hiatus, only to triumphantly return in 2021 with co-headline performances at three of the US’ premiere rock festivals- Inkarcertaion Festival, Welcome to Rockville, and Aftershock. Rob Zombie Announces Summer Tour With Mudvayne, Static-X + Powerman 5000
No, you have not woken up in an alternate dimension in the early 2000s. Rob Zombie is really headlining a tour this summer alongside Mudvayne , Static-X and Powerman 5000 .
Dubbed the Freaks on Parade tour, this is more than just a nostalgia trip as each of the veteran acts remain absolutely relevant in 2022, especially amid the industrial rock and nu-metal rebirth that's taking place. For those who grew up in the era when all four of these bands broke out, it's a chance to feel 20 or so years younger and fans who weren't of concert-attending age or weren't born yet will have the opportunity to relive an era that preceded them.
The 21-date U.S. trek begins on July 20 with an end date of Aug. 21 and the complete list of stops can be viewed below. Tickets go on sale on March 25 at 10AM local time at this location .
What's particularly exciting is that this is the first full tour for the reunited Mudvayne, who played their first three comeback shows last year.

SESSANTA tour closer: see photos of A PERFECT CIRCLE, PRIMUS and PUSCIFER's grand finale
It's been a hell of a birthday month, but Maynard James Keenan's Sessanta celebrations officially came to a close over the weekend. The iconic TOOL singer's A Perfect Circle and Puscifer projects, as well as funk oddballs Primus , wrapped up their three-way, collaborative tour on a chilly night in Forest Hills, New York, and the last bash was fittingly a wrecker.
The Saturday night (May 4th) performance once again found the trio of acts rotating throughout the night, with hits, deep cuts, and the new tunes from their Sessanta E.P.P.P. all thrown into the mix across the 29-song setlist .
This included Keenan going feral with Primus during the latter's "Tommy the Cat," while Les Claypool's Delirium bandmate Sean Lennon stopped by to jam on "Southbound Pachyderm." All three bands said a final goodbye with a multi-musician take on Puscifer's "Grand Canyon" and a ceremonial smashing of Keenan's 60th birthday piñata.

Jennifer Lopez talks bringing her kids on tour this summer, her new film 'Atlas'
Lopez also teased her look for the 2024 Met Gala.
Jennifer Lopez is well aware that her kids are growing up fast.
The superstar stopped by "Good Morning America" on Monday to dish about her new film "Atlas" and the 2024 Met Gala , and also opened up about her new tour and her hopes of bringing her children along for the ride this summer.

"I feel like this is the last time that I'll get to do something like this with them," she told "GMA" of twins Max and Emme . "They're 16, and next time they're gonna be like, 'No, mom.'"
Lopez said she is still "negotiating" with her kids about when they'll join her on the road, but she's hoping it'll be for the month of July. Her tour runs from June through August in support of her latest album, "This Is Me... Now."
"I'm gonna use the last little bit of force I have on them to be like, 'You have to come at least for a little while,'" she added. "Hopefully they'll acquiesce to that."
Before heading out on tour, Lopez will walk the carpet at the 2024 Met Gala as one of this year's co-chairs.
MORE: Most iconic Jennifer Lopez Met Gala looks
While she couldn't reveal anything about her outfit, the "Let's Get Loud" singer did tease that she'll be "barely" able to walk in it.
"The Met Gala looks ... it's not about comfort," she laughed.

Lopez also teased her new film, "Atlas," in which she plays the titular character, a data analyst who must overcome her distrust for artificial intelligence -- and other people -- to survive.
Lopez said reading the script made her "sob at the end."
"My character is disconnected ... hasn't let anybody in. Doesn't trust AI, doesn't trust people, feels they always disappoint. And little by little, this AI kind of chips away at her, chips away at her soul," she said. "Together, they kind of become more human."

Nashville guitarist Grace Bowers set to celebrate 18th birthday with Grand Ole Opry debut
Grace Bowers won't be known as Nashville's "17-year-old guitar virtuoso" much longer.
Unlike many teenagers who have normal birthday parties, Bowers is set to celebrate her 18th birthday on July 30 with her first performance on the hallowed stages of the Grand Ole Opry. It will be a bucket-list moment for the Nashville teen.
Her friend and producer of her upcoming album, John Osborne of the Brothers Osborne , surprised her with the news.
"Actually the day I found out John told me that he needed a pedal of mine to borrow, and I'm like, 'That's weird, why do you need that?'" Bowers told The Tennessean. "But I brought it to him and I walk in and he's like, 'When's your 18th birthday?' I told him and he's like, 'Well would you like to play the Opry on your 18th birthday?'
Then her whole family popped out from their hiding spots to help her celebrate the news.
Backstory: Not your typical 17-year-old: Guitar virtuoso Grace Bowers rocks out to hair metal, blues
Festivals: Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion to celebrate Americana, country, rock at September fest
"I feel like ever since we moved to Nashville, one of the first shows we ever saw was at the Grand Ole Opry and since then, I've kind of always been like, 'man, I wish I could play there.' And yeah, now I am. So it's kind of like a dream come true."
Bowers set to open for Chris Shiflett, Brothers Osborne and Elle King
But an Opry debut is just part of the exciting year Bowers has ahead of her. She and her band, The Hodge Podge, will embark on their first summer tour with festival stops at Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion and Franklin's Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival among others, which include opening slots for Chris Shiflett, Brothers Osborne and Elle King along the way.
"This is first time (touring) under my own name," she said. "I used to go out on runs as other people's guitar player. I'm really excited about this summer because it's my band now and you know, we're playing all over the place at all these different festivals. It's going to be a busy summer, but I'm very excited about it."
Grace Bowers and The Hodge Podge new music coming
She and her band have worked with Osborne to record an album that will come out later this summer. The first single, "Tell Me Why U Do That" is out now with another coming June 6.
Bowers said working with Osborne on the album was "unbelievable."
"I can't imagine doing it with anyone else," she added. "And John just, like, completely got my vision and knew what sound I wanted to get from it. And, you know, he was so easy to work with, too. I think he nailed it."
Second benefit show planned for June 10 at Brooklyn Bowl
In addition to the Opry, the album and the tour, Bowers is also planning her second benefit show taking place at Brooklyn Bowl on Mon. June 10. In 2023, shortly after the Covenant shooting, Bowers felt compelled to do something. So she organized a show that sold out the venue and raised $20,000 for the school.
This year, she's assembled a solid group of musical friends to do it again. This time, monies raised will go to Voices for a Safer Tennessee and MusiCares .
"I feel like safer gun laws are so common sense," she said. "And a lot of people don't. And you know, I just wanted to do something to make a difference or raise awareness about it. So that's why I did it the first year."
For the 2024 show, Bowers said she personally reached out to every artist she wanted to participate.
The lineup so far consists of The Cadillac Three, Devon Gilfillian, Caroline Jones, Meg McCree, Jarod James Nichols, John Osborne, Lucie Silvas, Brittney Spencer and Butch Walker with more to come.
Walker, who is a singer, songwriter, guitar player and producer, said he loves doing things for good causes, but especially with people like Bowers.
"Grace is a force of a guitar player, a good human, and has something magnetic about her that just makes everyone pay attention," he said. "It’s not just the cool hair and great guitar skills. She’s wanting to make a difference at a very young age and that spark is infectious for everyone around her"
Bowers said The Hodge Podge will be the house band and will play music off the new album, then invite guests to come up and play a few songs at a time. But in the end? "I'm sure we'll get everyone on stage," she gushed. "We'll have a super jam."
Her goal this year is to raise more money than last year's event. All the proceeds will benefit the charities. She said none of the musicians are being paid. In addition to ticket sales, there will be a GoFundMe set up as well as QR codes the night of the show.
