Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Dzire Tour S for the fleet market in India. Prices for the compact sedan start from Rs 6.51 lakh for the Std(O) petrol variant and go up to Rs 7.36 lakh for the Std(O) CNG variant. The new Tour S replaces the outgoing model that was based on the second-gen Dzire and joins the Ertiga (Tour M) and the WagonR (Tour H3) models. All three models are sold via Maruti Suzuki's Arena and commercial dealerships.

The new Tour S, being based on the  third-gen Dzire , will help Maruti with better economies of scale, unlike before when two generations of the car were sold together. Here is the detailed price table for the new Dzire Tour S:

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour S: exterior design, features

The new Tour S is available with three colour options – Arctic White, Midnight Black and Silky Silver. The new Tour S remains identical in terms of design to the current Dzire, albeit with some key differences such as the steel wheels, black door handles and mirror caps, and the ‘Tour S’ badging on the tailgate.

In terms of equipment, the new Tour S gets LED tail-lights, manual air conditioning and speed-sensitive door locks. The compact sedan also gets safety features like Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), dual airbags and ISOFIX seat anchorages.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour S: powertrain

The new Dzire Tour S is powered by the 1.2-litre K Series engine that puts out 90hp and 113Nm of peak torque in petrol mode. However, that dips to 77hp and 98.5Nm of torque when switched to CNG mode. Maruti claims that the petrol-powered Dzire Tour S offers a claimed fuel economy figure of 23.15kpl, whereas the CNG-powered version offers 32.12km/kg. According to the brand, the new Tour S CNG is 21 percent more efficient than the outgoing model.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour S: rivals

The new Dzire Tour S is the only ICE-powered fleet vehicle on sale as Hyundai no longer sells the fleet version of the old Xcent or the current Aura. It's only other competition is the Tata Xpres T EV, the fleet-only counterpart of the Tigor EV .

Maruti Suzuki Dzire for private buyers

The Dzire compact sedan for private buyers is available in four trims – LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXi+ – and currently retails for Rs 6.44 lakh-9.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Dzire rivals other compact sedans like the recently facelifted Hyundai Aura (Rs 6.30 lakh-8.87 lakh), Honda Amaze (Rs 6.89 lakh-9.48 lakh) and the Tata Tigor (Rs 6.20-8.90 lakh) in the market.

- BS6 Maruti Suzuki Tour S CNG is offered in two variants

Maruti Suzuki has discreetly launched the BS6-compliant Dzire Tour S CNG, with prices starting at Rs 6.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company has also introduced new Optional variants for both petrol and CNG variants under the Tour S range.

Unlike the 1.2-litre dual-jet VVT petrol engine that powers the Dzire facelift, the Maruti Suzuki Tour S is propelled by the 1.2-litre dual VVT petrol motor. The latter produces 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. Transmission options are limited to a five-speed manual transmission.

Last week, Maruti Suzuki expanded their commercial network portfolio with the Tour range. The models under the Tour range now include Tour H1, Tour H2, Tour S, Tour V and Tour M, details of which are available here .

The 2023 Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour S has been introduced in both petrol and CNG fuel trims in three colors namely Arctic White, Midnight Black, and Silky Silver

Maruti Suzuki has launched the new-gen Dzire Tour S in India. Designed to cater to the fleet market, it is based on the latest-generation model of the Dzire and will be available in both petrol and CNG models. Priced between Rs 6.51 lakh and Rs 7.36 lakh (ex-showroom), Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour S will replace the existing model based on the second-generation Dzire. It joins other Tour S models such as the Ertiga (Tour M) and Wagon R (Tour H3) while retailed through Maruti Suzuki’s Arena and commercial dealerships.

The new Dzire Tour S is aimed at enabling the company to achieve greater economies of scale, compared to the past, when two generations of the cars were offered simultaneously. Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour S is available in two variants: petrol and bi-fuel CNG. The petrol manual version would cost Rs 6.51 lakh while the bi-fuel CNG variant will cost Rs 7.36 lakh.

In the petrol version, the new Dzire Tour S is powered by a 1.2-litre K Series engine that produces 89 bhp and 113 Nm. In CNG mode, these figures come down to 76 bhp and 98.5 Nm. The automaker claims that the upcoming Dzire Tour S CNG is 21 percent more efficient than the previous model. For the petrol model, Maruti Suzuki estimates a fuel-efficiency rating of 23.15 kmpl. A 32.12 km/kg efficiency is achieved with the CNG version.

With a few small changes in the design such as the steel wheels, black door handles and mirror caps, the new Dzire Tour S retains multiple design features of the outgoing model. The tailgate has ‘Tour S’ badging affixed to it. The new Dzire Tour S comes in three colours: Arctic White, Midnight Black, and Silky Silver.

The 2023 Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour S is equipped with speed-sensitive door locks, manual air conditioning, and LED taillights. It has twin front airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, reverse parking sensors, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and other safety features such as ISOFIX seat anchorages.

The standard Dzire for common buyers is available in four trim options: LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXi+, with prices ranging from Rs 6.44 lakh to Rs 9.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In the market, the Dzire competes with other compact sedans like Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze, and Tata Tigor.

Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Tour S at a starting price of Rs 6 .51 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the newest generation Dzire , the Tour S will cater to the fleet customers and is available in petrol and CNG variants.

The Tour S joins the brand’s other fleet offerings that include Tour M, Tour H3, Tour V, and Tour H1. It is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine which develops 89bhp in the petrol guise and 76bhp in its CNG version. The claimed fuel efficiency for both these models are 23.15kmpl and 32.12km/kg, respectively. 

The Maruti Suzuki Tour S is available in Arctic White, Midnight Black, and Silky Silver exterior shades and are equipped with a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, a manual air conditioner, reverse parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX seat anchorages.

The Dzire has been among the best sellers in the compact sedan segment. There is no change in the engine set up and it continues using the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre oil burner from the previous model. The 1.2-litre, K-Series petrol unit with 83.1bhp of top power at 6000rpm makes maximum torque of 115Nm at 4000rpm. Diesel Dzire with 1.3-litres DDiS powertrain will offer 74bhp at 4000rpm and 190Nm at 2000rpm. Both the engines will come with a standard five-speed manual gearbox and an AMT unit which will now also be offered with the petrol engine. Since the car would be based on the Dzire, it’s expected to have the same wheelbase. Elements like extended nose, redesigned grille and flowing lines make the exterior shell of the car look very modern and elegant

15 men brought to military enlistment office after mass brawl in Moscow Oblast

Local security forces brought 15 men to a military enlistment office after a mass brawl at a warehouse of the Russian Wildberries company in Elektrostal, Moscow Oblast on Feb. 8, Russian Telegram channel Shot reported .

29 people were also taken to police stations. Among the arrested were citizens of Kyrgyzstan.

A mass brawl involving over 100 employees and security personnel broke out at the Wildberries warehouse in Elektrostal on Dec. 8.

CHISINAU, Moldova — U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Wednesday pledged $135 million in aid to Moldova for energy security and to counter Russian disinformation as the Western-leaning nation struggles to blunt Moscow’s push for influence that has been buoyed by recent successes in its war in neighboring Ukraine.

Blinken opened a short visit to Eastern Europe with a stop in Chisinau, Moldova’s capital, where he announced the assistance at a news conference with President Maia Sandu. America’s top diplomat said $85 million would go to bolster energy infrastructure and $50 million was aimed at overhauling the energy and farming industries and deterring disinformation.

“That in turn will bolster the ability of Moldovans to resist Russian interference, to hold free and fair elections, to continue down the path to the European Union and Western integration, to create more economic opportunity,” Blinken said. “One of the other things that’s so important is sharing information about disinformation and misinformation, which is one of the most potent hybrid tools that Russia uses – and that’s something that we are doing.”

He planned to travel to the Czech Republic later.

Before Wednesday, the U.S. had provided Moldova with $774 million in financial aid since the Ukraine war began in February 2022. Some $300 million of that was earmarked for energy security.

Moldova, with about 2.5 million people, used to be entirely dependent on Russia for its natural gas supplies. It faced an acute energy crisis after Moscow dramatically reduced supplies in the winter of 2022. Moldova’s energy woes worsened that year after it suffered temporary blackouts because its Soviet-era energy systems remained connected with Ukraine’s, which were being hit hard by Russia’s military. Meantime, Transnistria, a Moscow-backed, disputed territory of Moldova with a key power plant and where Russia bases about 1,500 troops as peacekeepers, cut electricity to other parts of Moldova. Moldovan officials responded by pushing to reduce dependence on Russian energy.

On Wednesday, Sandu thanked the U.S. for its financial support, which she said has helped Moldova broaden its energy sources and bolster its economy. “We managed to strengthen our energy security from a total dependence on the Russian power resources,” she said. “Today, we source natural gas from several sources including the ones of the United States.”

“Thanks to the financial American assistance of $80 million, in the past winter we managed to compensate the energy bills of our citizens,” she added.

Blinken’s trip, organized around a NATO foreign ministers meeting in Prague, the Czech capital, comes amid concerns that Moldova and Georgia, another former Soviet republic, are facing renewed threats from Russia.

Blinken visited Ukraine two weeks ago to reassure Kyiv of Washington’s support in the face of increased Russian attacks in its north.

There are also signs Russia may be considering new actions in Moldova and is behind anti-Western moves in Georgia that the U.S. believes run counter to Moldovan and Georgian aspirations to join the European Union. Advertisement

Both countries have candidate status to eventually join the 27-nation EU bloc.

“There’s not a direct military threat that we see at this time, but there’s ongoing Russian influence operations, and that is of concern,” the top U.S. diplomat for Europe, James O’Brien, said last week.

Moldova has repeatedly accused Russia of conducting a “hybrid war” against the country, meddling in local elections and running vast disinformation campaigns to try to topple the government and derail its path toward joining the EU.

“Russia is trying to undermine Moldova, undermine its democratic institutions, undermine its ability to make decisions about its own future using a whole variety of hybrid means,” Blinken said. “I think Moldova has done a remarkable job in countering many of those attacks.”

Russia has denied the accusations, but the Moldovan government is wary of Moscow’s intentions, particularly after Transnistrian authorities appealed to Moscow in February for “protection” due to what they said was increased pressure from Chisinau.

In Georgia, those fears intensified on Tuesday when the country’s parliament overrode a presidential veto of a “foreign agents” bill that has prompted weeks of massive protests by critics who say it will restrict media freedom and obstruct Georgia’s chances of joining the European Union. The bill that was approved by the parliament earlier this month requires media, nongovernmental organizations and other nonprofit groups to register as “pursuing the interests of a foreign power” if they receive more than 20% of their funding from abroad.

The legislature, controlled by the ruling Georgian Dream party, dismissed the veto of President Salome Zourabichvili, an independent. The president now has five days to endorse the bill. If she doesn’t do so, the parliament speaker will sign it into law.

Zourabichvili, who is increasingly at odds with the governing party, vetoed the bill on May 18. She has accused the governing party of jeopardizing the country’s future and “hindering the path toward becoming a full member of the free and democratic world.”

Blinken last week announced that the U.S. would impose travel bans on Georgian officials “who are responsible for or complicit in undermining democracy in Georgia, as well as their family members.”

Blinken’s announcement did not identify anyone who has already been targeted, but it said the U.S. would also undertake a comprehensive review of U.S.-Georgia cooperation.

“It remains our hope that Georgia’s leaders will reconsider the draft law and take steps to move forward with their nation’s democratic and Euro-Atlantic aspirations,” he said. “As we review the relationship between our two countries, we will take into account Georgia’s actions in deciding our own.”

The situations in Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine will all be on the agenda at the NATO ministerial meeting in Prague on Thursday and Friday It will be the alliance’s last major diplomatic get-together before leaders meet at a summit to celebrate NATO’s 80th anniversary in Washington in July.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
