San Juan is the capital city of Puerto Rico .  Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States.  San Juan is the financial and industrial center of the island and the most visited tourist destination.  The tourist areas span over 8 miles of the beautiful Atlantic coastline, from historic Old San Juan to the beaches of Isla Verde in the neighboring town of Carolina.

The San Juan Airport and Cruise Port are both Caribbean hubs welcoming millions of tourists every year.  This modern city is the second oldest settlement in the Americas, it is rich in history, treasuring its past, but setting new standards in technology across the Caribbean by always moving forward.

The original name for what today is the capital city was Puerto Rico (Rich Port), which was later named San Juan, and the entire island was named Puerto Rico.

 “ Sahn  Hwahn ,  Pwer -toh  ree -koh”

The pronunciation of "San Juan" in Spanish is approximately "sahn hwahn." The "San" is pronounced with a short "ah" sound, and "Juan" is pronounced with the "hw" sound, which is similar to the English "wh" in "what." Together, they form "sahn hwahn." Remember that the "J" in Spanish is pronounced like an "H."

Explore the only tropical rainforest  system on this half-day trip. Hiking in  the nature trails, surrounded by tree orchids, giant ferns, and wildflowers, as you venture to a camera-worthy collection of waterfalls and panoramic vistas in northeast Puerto Rico.

You start your day with pick-up one hour before the tour, from select hotels in San Juan. Then drive from San Juan to El Yunque, admiring the typical native towns and changing scenery as you ascend higher into the rainforest. This ecosystem is named after the ancient Indian spirit Yuquiyu, who was believed to have once reigned over all of Puerto Rico, protecting the island and its people.

Begin Hiking on one of the trails, keeping an eye out for any of the area’s wildlife. Make your way along paths thick with tree orchids, giant ferns, wildflowers, tropical hardwood trees, and a waterfall.  Then make your way back to San Juan, arriving back at your hotel!

San Pedro: The Port of Los Angeles show can be seen along Harbor Boulevard at Swinford Street. The show will be launched near the Vincent Thomas Bridge. Free shuttle to and from downtown San Pedro. Huntington Beach: . Annual fireworks over the ocean with free beach viewing. Maybe start trying to find parking now.  (Paid seating available on the pier). Parade at 10 a.m. from PCH to HB pier onto Main Street. hb4thofjuly.com

Laguna Beach: This year, the city will be holding a drone show with synchronized music over the beach, from Monument Point at Heisler Park. Long Beach: View the annual fireworks show off the Queen Mary from Ocean Blvd. and the downtown shoreline. If you want to go onto the Queen, that’ll cost you $55. Note that the city’s main fireworks show held on July 3 has been canceled this year.

Marina del Rey: This annual show will start at 9 p.m. and be synchronized with music ove loudspeakers at Burton Chace Park, 13650 Mindanao Way and FIsherman’s Village, 13755 Fiji Way. Fireworks will be shot off a barge off the Marina’s south jetty. The show is apparently visible in the marina, Venice and Playa Vista and Dockweiler Beach.
