Scott McCreery- born Cooke "Scotty" McCreery, on October 9th 1993 is an American country music singer from North Carolina, America.

Scott started out in 2009 when he managed to win the singing contest 'Clayton Idol' held by WQDR-FM at the Clayton Harvest Festival in Clayton, North Carolina. Following this win Scott sang at numerous local shows with the radio station.

His success came about in 2011, after winning the popular talent show, USA's, 'American Idol'. Scott was the series' youngest male winner and second youngest winner overall. Scott McCreery had to have one of his parents live with him during the process of the show due to his young age. Following his success in the reality TV show, Scott went on to record and release his debut studio album, titled, Clear as Day, that same year. The album was highly successful and was impressively certified platinum in America.

Scott’s unique style meant his country vocals suited a number outlets. This was made evident through his debut album including the top 20 country songs, "I Love You This Big" and "The Trouble with Girls". Additionally his talents filtered through to him successfully releasing a public's favourite, Christmas album in 2012, titled, 'Christmas with Scotty McCreery', which has impressively been certified gold in the USA.

Success didn’t end there however, his first single from his third album titled, "See You Tonight", successfully reached the highly regarded, America's top 10 on Billboard's Country charts.

Live reviews

Scotty McCreery captured our attention during his stint on "American Idol." His singing and the songs he chose helped me enjoy the genre of country music more. So, when we saw that he was performing at Centennial Hall (University of Arizona), Tucson, we bought tickets for the show and were very excited.

First, we attend lectures at Centennial Hall so the issue regarding accoustics is not really a problem for the most part. However, with the presence of 3-4 guitars, keyboard and drums plus amps, the music was much louder than the performer...we saw Scotty's mouth moving and we knew sound was emanating from him BUT we could not hear the lyrics distinctly. I think if the music had been powered down a bit and/or the building had better accoustics, this would not have been an issue.

Enjoyed Scotty's personal footnotes which preceded some of the songs and it gave some insight to him as a person. He uses music/lyrics to express his feelings & emotions. Having said that, perhaps he is shy (as many performers are) and did not engage the audience (theater-goers in the front rows) much. Then I considered the possibility that he was "saving" himself for the audience members who had paid to visit him backstage. All in all, it was a high energy show with a group of wonderfully talented performers. It was good to see a grown up Scotty McCreery with 8-9 years of professional experience.

When I first heard that Scotty was gonna be in town I knew I had to buy a ticket before it sold out. He sang songs from his newest album and a couple from his older albums too. Also he sang a little bit of old country like Alan Jackson,Meryl Haggard,Alabama and Johnny Cash. He is such an amazing singer and did such an amazing job from beginning to end. The amount of talent on stage was so amazing. He switched from acoustic guitar to electric than back to acoustic. His band did Phenomenal too. They played instruments from fiddle to banjo to drums, electric guitar and keyboard and the list goes on.There wasn't a moment I didn't enjoy. I enjoyed it all. Also I got to meet Scotty in person and he is the nicest guy you'll ever meet. Who he is on tv and in interviews is who he is in real life. Talking with him was like talking with one of my best friends. I can't say enough nice things about him and his band. It definitely worth seeing him in concert. I highly recommend it. You'll be entertained from beginning to end then sad when it's over. It'll be a night you never forget

A fresh faced youngster to the country scene, Scotty McCreery has been causing waves since winning American Idol and scoring a #1 album with 'Clear as Day'. A fan base was ready and waiting following his TV show victory and his outings on the live scene have been praised more and more ever since.

Now with two albums worth of hit material, McCreery is one of complete ease onstage. I suppose the transition from having millions of eyes on you each week to a mere couple thousand in a venue is a nice change as Scotty is able to relax further into his performance. He also has a great live band and seems to thrive from the jam mentality of his music style.

He builds a great connection with the crowd as he tells them meanings behind his songwriting and his experiences as a reality star at such a young age. They warm to him almost instantly and cheer even louder for 'See You Tonight' and US smash 'I Love You This Big'. By his final bows there is an unspoken unanimous opinion that Scotty is destined for great things.

Bought the tickets as a Mother's Day gift for myself and took my two daughters. Scotty was great! My daughters were excited walking into the theater but by the time he finished his first song they said he is now their favorite. He walked down the aisle we were sitting by for one of his songs and touched my older daughters hand , so that would be her highlight. We loved how he would turn the lights up a bit and tell the audience a little bit about his journey to stardom. He played a song he had written but hasn't released yet which was great. Can't wait to hear it on the radio. Both of my girls said when he is on stage he looks like Jensen Ackles from Supernatural. I have to agree. I would highly recommend seeing Scotty in concert.

Absolutely amazing! It was such a great time. My uncle and I went; I have seen Scotty, though, two times in the past so going a third time made me so happy! He never disappoints with his stage presence. Love him and I loved the Casino Ballroom. Five stars!

I thought that Scotty did a really, truly great job. I thought that him telling us about his cousin dying in the war, along with the fact he wrote a about him and his wife and son was admirable. It was great that he sang old and new songs for us too!

Scotty McCreery Announces 2021 Tour as “You Time” Breaks Top 25

ScottyAdmat 5.18

Delivering more than 130 online performances for fans, Country radio, charitable events, and media outlets, Scotty McCreery had one thought in the back of his mind this last year: readying new music for fans when he could again return to the road. Between his livestream concert on Sept. 4, 2020, “Live from the Ryman,” with his full band being the first to welcome any audience back into the Ryman (limited capacity) and their Dec. 2, 2020 stripped-acoustic livestream from Raleigh’s Lincoln Theatre, McCreery has been thinking a lot about what his show will look and feel like when in-person again and especially what he wants to say. That time is upon him with the launch of his You Time Tour in June.

“This last year I was glad to get more ‘you time’ with my wife Gabi than ever before, as well as a lot of ‘you time’ with some of my favorite songwriters via zoom as we created new songs for the upcoming album,” reflects McCreery who has been in the studio this year with producers Aaron Eshuis, Frank Rogers and Derek Wells. “And now that we’re able to tour again, I cannot wait to get back on the road and have some ‘you time’ with fans this summer. This song’s message and timing really hit home for me and I hope we keep a few things like the intention of the time we spent with others this last year as we look ahead. I, for one, will never take going to a show or playing music live for fans for granted after this last year without it.”

The North Carolina native released “You Time” last September as the first single from his upcoming new album which he plans to put out in the Fall. Written by McCreery, Rogers and Eshuis, the song is rising steadily, currently sitting at No. 23 on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck Country Singles Chart.

Announced earlier today, McCreery will also join Old Dominion as direct support on select Live from the Ballpark Tour dates (denoted below).

“I’m excited to reunite with Old Dominion for their Live from the Ballpark Tour,” said McCreery, who last toured with the band in 2019. “These guys are not only amazing performers but great people, and this tour will be a blast. Plus, having been a pitcher on my high school baseball team, performing in these ball parks will be like coming home.”

Upon its release,  Taste of Country  declared “McCreery’s country roots shine.” With a hint of neotraditional country and dash of 90’s country nostalgia, the heartbreak track finds the happily married father in unfamiliar territory – lamenting a failed relationship.

The singer/songwriter has earned five consecutive No. 1 hits in the last few years including RIAA Platinum-certified No. 1 “Damn Strait” and RIAA Gold-certified No. 1 “You Time , ” all found on  Same Truck :  The Deluxe Album.

Co-produced by Jeff Pardo and Jonathan Smith, the project kicks off with two singles bridging Wilson’s sonic influences. The hurricane force encouragement of “Rain In The Rearview” stands as Wilson’s debut Country single, while the soaring ballad “Strong” will simultaneously aim to continue the success she has earned in Contemporary Christian. Taking the music world by storm, Wilson delivered her first public performance at 15, singing “What a Beautiful Name” at her brother’s funeral in a moving expression of faith which soon went viral. A few short years later, her 2021 debut single “My Jesus” became a PLATINUM-certified single and hit No.1 on Billboard ’s Christian Airplay chart. Since then, she has tallied more than 730M global streams, made her Grand Ole Opry debut and scored a GRAMMY nomination for her 2022 debut album My Jesus . She continues to thrill live audiences, performing over 250 shows in the first two years of her career, and is currently on her entirely sold-out headlining My Jesus Tour.

ABOUT GREYLAN JAMES:

From the moment his Papaw gifted him his first guitar at the age of five, one of Nashville’s most exciting young breakout Country stars Greylan James knew he was meant to be a musician. The Knoxville-raised singer/songwriter has been manifesting his vision of Country music stardom since his earliest days: from those cleats and cowboy hats he wore to school to playing every sort of live show imaginable from tailgates to patios and dive bars to funerals around his hometown. Since moving to Music City eight years ago, Greylan has become a “celebrated songwriter” ( Country Now ) earning cuts from some of Country music’s most notable artists including Kenny Chesney, Chris Young, Cole Swindell, Darius Rucker, Chris Janson, Bailey Zimmerman, Breland and more, most recently earning his first No. 1 with Jordan Davis’ smash hit “Next Thing You Know.” To date, Greylan’s songbook has amassed more than 650 million streams. And while Greylan has undoubtedly been incredibly successful penning hits for others in the writer’s room, he’s ready to strike out on his own with the recent release of his anticipated debut single “ Young Man ” (BMLG Records). Co-written alongside esteemed Nashville songwriters Jacob Davis and Josh Miller, and dedicated to Greylan’s late grandfather, the reflective song of notching wisdom from one’s elders is his most personal song yet. After joining Old Dominion on the road over the summer, Greylan heads out on Cole Swindell’s TWELVE TOUR this fall beginning October 12 in Fargo, ND. For a full list of tour dates and more, visit  GreylanJames.com .

About Noah Hicks: Raised on a chicken farm in Carrollton, GA, Noah Hicks brings an authenticity that’s as real as the dirt roads he grew up on. After making the move to Nashville, he quickly found his place among some of the city’s most respected writing circles. But it’s not just his ear for a good song that sets him apart; he prides himself on his energetic live shows and undeniable connection with fans. Sharing the stage with names like HARDY, Ernest, Justin Moore, and Parker McCollum, and making appearances at festivals like CMA Fest, Noah’s energy is felt far beyond Music Row. Since signing with RED Creative Group in 2020, he’s amassed over 60 million streams and collaborated with artists like Rhett Akins, Ashley Cooke, Travis Denning, and Jon Langston. Two of his standout tracks, “I Can Tell You’re Small Town” and “Dirt On It,” have proven Noah’s ability to authentically and naturally connect with fans. The former sparked an organic TikTok trend, with over 29K videos created and counting, while the latter has been embraced by NFL and MLB stadiums, organically finding its way into the ears of sports fans.

N.C. State Super Fan Scotty McCreery Won’t Miss Their Final Four Game Thanks To Assist From Another Country Star

We really do all get by with a little help from our friends.

Scotty McCreery is a lifelong member of the North Carolina State Wolfpack and when the men’s basketball team punched their ticket to the Final Four for the first time since 1983, he was howling with joy, as was his son Avery.

As the “Wine In a Solo Cup” singer watched the last minute of the game, he went live on Instagram, “wearing the same sweatshirt I’ve worn since the ACC Championship.” He took two fingers to his neck and said, “I wish you could feel this heartbeat right now. I’m losing my mind!”

Through the last seconds of the game, McCreery was already wondering if he could make the game in Phoenix Saturday afternoon and honor his commitment to play a show with Thomas Rhett in San Diego later the same night. But, as it turned out, another country star on the lineup for Saturday came through with the ultimate assist.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, McCreery proudly declared, “Wolfpack nation, I’m going to the game.” The American Idol winner is scheduled to perform as part of Boots in the Park, an all day affair in San Diego featuring several big names in country music. Well, thanks to one of the other fellas on the marquee, McCreery will get to the Final Four and be able to hit the stage for his set and maybe “five more minutes.”

He promised to fans in his video that he wouldn’t miss a show for basketball but he really wanted to do both. The schedule had him going on at 6:00 p.m. and game time is at 3:00 p.m. He knew he couldn’t do that. But he saw that Brice was scheduled for 7:35 p.m. so he called with a plea. He told Brice he could totally say no, noting “he deserves that spot, been doing it longer, has all the hits, you name it.” He then asked his friend if he would be willing to switch spots.

“Lee, the class act that he is, he looked at me and said, ‘Scotty, if it’s important to you, it’s important to me, it’s not even an ask.’” He ends the video saying that he loves the Wolfpack and he loves country music and “Saturday I get to do both.”

After winning American Idol in 2011 at the age of 17, despite his newfound fame, he followed in his father’s footsteps and enrolled as a student at N.C. State. As McCreery told Southern Living last fall , he didn’t want to miss out what other kids his age were doing so he found a way to go out on tour with Rascal Flatts and to be a normal college student. “I just wanted to go there and attend class and hang out with all the kids. Do the football games, the basketball games, all the Halloween parties and all that stuff. I feel like I really got the true college experience even though I was already in the music scene.”

Sounds like this weekend McCreery will once again get to do it all. Cheer on his favorite team as a fan and then hit the stage in front of thousands of cheering fans. All thanks to Lee Brice.
