Day 1 : BAGDOGRA AIRPORT / NEW JALPAIGURI RLY STATION TO GANGTOK

On arrival at Bagdogra airport / New Jalpaiguri Rly. Station you will be received and proceed to Gangtok (5500ft. / Distance 124 km. / 4 hours), the capital city of Indian state of Sikkim (Sikkim is the 23rd.state of India). Sikkim is one the most beautiful state in India located in Eastern Himalaya and surrounded by High Mountains and deep valleys in between Tibet in the north, Royal Bhutan in the East and Nepal in West. On arrival at Gangtok check in at your hotel. Overnight stay. Note: We can arrange Honeymoon Bed decoration, Cake and candle light dinner at extra charges.

Day 2 : TSOMGO LAKE BABA MANDIR DAY TOUR

Today after breakfast drive up for a memorable excursion tour to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft. /39 km), this is one of the highest altitude Himalayan Lake. Most beautiful this oval shape lake almost 1 km long with its average depth 50 ft and situated in east Sikkim Himalaya. Again drive up for Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial – Baba Mandir (13,000 ft/15 km/30 minute). Back to Gangtok and evening free for M.G Marg. the popular shopping area in Gangtok. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

Day 3 : GANGTOK TO PELLING VIA RAVANGLA BUDDHA PARK

Today after breakfast proceed for an excursion trip to Ravangla and later on drive to Pelling. Visit Ravangla Buddha park. The statue of the Buddha marks the occasion of the 2550th birth anniversary of Gautama Buddha.

Today after breakfast from Pelling proceed to Darjeeling (7,200 ft. / 4 hours), The Queen of Hill’s. Arrivals at Darjeeling check in at your hotel. Evening free for a walk in the Mall, where you will get curio and handicraft shop Overnight halt.

Day 6 : TIGER HILL EXCURSION TOUR AND DARJEELING LOCAL SIGHTSEEING TOUR

Early morning, get ready for an exciting excursion tour to Tiger Hill (8,500 ft), the famous sunrise point in the eastern Himalayas and get the breathtaking view of the changing colour reflection over the Mt. Day wise itinerary

You will find our representative at the New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) who will help you with your transfer from the arrival place to the tranquil yet adventurous capital of Sikkim, Gangtok. Rhododendrons will be your travel buddy on your way to the final destination. Not a lie, but you will be starstruck to see the eyeful beauty during this journey to your hotel. The New Jalpaiguri Railway Junction is about 116 km away from Gangtok hence would take around 3.5 hours for you to reach the place. On the other hand, the airport finds itself at a distance of 126 km, therefore leaving you with a 3.5 hours ride again.

As soon as you reach your hotel, let the fresh breeze sink in. It’s time for you to relax and make the best out of the remaining time by resting and hogging on good food. If you get your energy back, do go for a walk at the mall road or some local marketplace. It’s great for buying souvenirs.

After having a sound sleep, it’s time for you to welcome the other day with sheer excitement. Post your plentiful breakfast head for a Gangtok tour, Today’s day is full of sightseeing and fun. The places that are to be covered include-

Ganesh Tok Sprawling over steep slopes and hills, Ganesh Tok is a quaint Hindu temple which even has a café that offers light bites and refreshing drinks. It is the highest point of Gangtok (6500 ft approx.), hence provides a magnificently beautiful view of the capital city and its neighbours.

Tashi View Point This viewpoint lets your eyes encounter the exotic beauty of snowcapped Mt. Kanchenjunga and nearby valleys. Because it away from the bustling city life, it is a remarkable place for peace seekers. Moreover, this point offers one of the most amazing sunrises as well.

Ropeway & Banjhakri Falls A place worth visiting, the waterfall is the most famous place among the tourists. With opportunities for adventure activities such as ropeway, boating, etc., Banjhakri Falls is a pleasant site with breathtaking views.

Directorate of Handicraft and Handloom Established in 1957; the place aims at preserving the art and craft of the people of Gangtok. In this era where modernisation is the trend, this place keeps you connected with your roots. Handcrafted folding tables, hand painted masques, paintings, shawls, etc., are a few of the things that you get here.

Enchey Monastery A 200 years old monastery, Enchey Monastery is one of the most significant monasteries in Sikkim. Here you will be surrounded with sheer positivity and liveliness. The chants of the monks, traditional interiors, and the surreal environment would offer you the needed tranquillity on a day full of hefty travelling.

Do Drul Chorten Stupa Built by Trulshik Rinpoche, the head of the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism; the stupa is located on a hillock near the Institute of Tibetology. Before the establishment of this stupa, it was believed that the evil haunted the place. But since the very time this stupa came into existence, no such negativity has been experienced. It is surrounded by 108 prayer wheels, each having mantras inscribed on them.

Flower Show Blessed with a vast variety of flora, Gangtok is a paradise for flower lovers and so is the Ridge Park. The colourful flowers and lush green plants over here are a treat to one’s eyes.

Institute of Tibetology With the foundation stone being laid by the Dalai Lama, the institute works towards preserving and promoting the Tibetan culture. It showcases the glorious past of the country and its vibrant culture. The library here has one of the most extensive collections of Tibetan literature. It is a wonderful place and thus deserves your visit.

Lastly, Gangtok is famous for the great north-eastern delicacies. Do try the food at local restaurants. Now you might be exhausted, so it’s time to return to the hotel and get some peaceful sleep.

Today is the most adventuresome day. Hence, go light on breakfast. Have a light meal that fills your tummy. Do not overeat as today you are going to Tsomgo Lake Excursion and Baba Mandir.

The Tsomgo Lake It is located at a distance of 40 km from the city centre. You’ll have a two hours drive along the beautiful Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary which is home to the blood pheasant and the red panda. The journey to this destination will be full of alpine trees by your side. Situated at an elevation of 12310 feet, it is a 50 feet deep oval-shaped lake. For most of the year, this beauty stays hidden under the snow cover. Many migratory birds and the Brahmini ducks find their shelter at the Tsomgo Lake.

Baba Mandir Near to the lake lies the Baba Mandir, a holy site for the locals as well as the tourists. It is also known as Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple and is located between Nathu La Pass and Jelepla pass. The place holds extreme importance for it is a memorial of a 22-year-old soldier, Baba Harbhajan Singh, the “Hero of Nathula”, who according to a legend died while escorting a group of mules carrying supplies to a remote spot. His spirit is believed to be the protector of every soldier being appointed at the inhospitable Himalayan regions.

Optional Tour- Nathu La Pass The pass connects Indian Territory of Sikkim with an autonomous region in China. Since it atop the mountain place, you are required to climb a few steps. This pass was also an offshoot of the ancient Silk Route. You can take this tour on the same day for extra charges. Also, it requires a special permit to enter this area.

If not, then after seeking the blessing at Baba Mandir, head back to Mall road for a night spree. Finally, it’s time to be back at your hotel for a relaxing sleep.

Wake up. Today is the day when you leave for Lachen! Have your breakfast and resort to your high energy levels as ahead lays a 5-6 hours drive to Chungthang which is 96 kms away from Gangtok. Take a halt at Chungthang and have a great lunch. Resume your journey to Lachen that finds itself 35 kms from Chungthang. Lachen falls into the category of the places that make you fall in love with them at first sight. A town hidden from the outer world, cradling between rocks and sterns, it is a wonderland. The eye soothing snow clad mountains brings you few places such as Gurudongmar Lake, Thangu, Chopta Valley, etc. that are quite interesting and are a must visit.

Check in to your hotel, have some evening tea and now stroll across the tiny village and explore the untouched beauty of the place. Do visit the Lepcha Village. Post your evening walk, come back to the hotel in Lachen and take a good night sleep.

Have your breakfast and head towards the Gurudongmar Lake, i.e. 55 kms from Lachen. It will take around 2.5-3.5 hours for you to reach there. The drive will be worth these travelling hours!

Gurudongmar Lake Take pride as Sikkim has the world’s highest lake, the Gurudongmar Lake in its vicinity. The Lake owes its name to the founder of Tibetan Buddhism, Guru Padmasambhava who is also known as Guru Rinpoche. There are claims that the lake has been blessed by the Sikhs spiritual leader, Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the 15th century. Considered sacred by Hindus, Sikhs and the Buddhists, it is located at the height of 17800 ft.

After you have catered the magic of this place within you, it’s time to be back at the resort for some lunch. Your next destination is Thangu and last but not the least the Chopta Valley. From here there is a two hours drive back to the hotel. .

Your evening is free for visiting the Lachung Monastery if interested. Otherwise, you can rest and make yourself ready for the following day.

After having your breakfast, drive to Yumthang which is located at an elevated level of 11800 feet. Yumthang is a splendid valley set near to the Lachung Chu River, surrounded by gigantic mountains. During the springtime, the valley erupts with Rhododendrons, many alpine flowers and Primulae. The flora is in full bloom, making it look nothing less than a paradise. The other days except for autumn, the valley finds itself hidden in the snow cover. On your way to the place, you will come across a famous hot spring renowned for its power of curing diseases. Spend a good time witnessing this ethereal beauty and then head back to your hotel for lunch. Post lunch, leave for Gangtok. It will be 4-5 hours drive. On your way make a pit stop at Singhik and Mangan. If the sky is clear and the weather compliments your mood, spend some time consuming the magnificent views of Mount Kanchenjunga, Mount Jopuno, Mount Kabru, Mount Pandim, Mount Simvo, Mount Siniolchu and Mount Khanchendzonga. This drive back to the city of Gangtok will let you encounter the refreshing scenic beauty, apt for some fantastic photography. Back in Gangtok if you reach your hotel in time, you can head towards some shopping centre or Mall Road following which you can have a quiet sleep.

This day calls for an optional tour to Zero Point.

Today is the day you leave for your home. The trip comes to an end with some enumerable memories. Have your breakfast and start moving towards the Siliguri / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction). Sikkim's one airport, Pakyoung Airport, is located 31 kilometres south of Gangtok. The airport is located on 201 acres and is a greenfield site. At 4590 feet, it is one of India's five highest airports. First commercial airline operations began on October 4, 2018, with the airport opening on September 24, 2018.

As of now, Pakyoung Airport does not receive any international flights. Nevertheless, there are daily flights from Guwahati, Delhi, and Kolkata. There are direct flights from Pakyoung Airport operated by Air Asia, Spice Jet, Indigo, Air India, and Vistara.

It is best to arrange a journey to one of the major cities that have connecting flights to Sikkim if you are travelling from outside of India.

Apart from Pakyoung, Bagdogra is the closest airport to Gangtok. It offers frequent daily flights to many Indian cities as well as neighbouring countries like Bhutan. Bagdogra, which is 126 kilometres from Gangtok, is typically a convenient way to travel to Sikkim.

A 50-kilometer train link that was supposed to run from Sevoke, West Bengal, to Rangpo, Sikkim, was put on hold in 2009. The closest stations in the interim are Siliguri (146 km) and New Jalpaiguri (NJP) (187 km). They are connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Guwahati, Kolkata, and many other places by train. After getting off, it's easy to find a pre-paid taxi to Gangtok.

The distance of 593 km between Kolkata and New Jalpaiguri is covered by a limited number of trains. The limited trains KOAA (12363), Testa Torsa Exp (13141), and Darjeeling Mail (12343) travel between Kolkata and New Jalpaiguri.

Guwahati to Siliguri, which is around 433 km away, is served by numerous daily and weekly trains. Saraighat Express (12346), Brahmaputra Mail (14055), North-East Express (12505), DBRT Rajdhani Express (12423), Kamrup Express (15960), and Abadh Assam Express (15909) are the trains that run daily from Guwahati to Siliguri.

A few weekly trains, including the Guwahati (15645), Karambhoomi (22511), LTT KYQAC Express (12519), Guwahati Express (15647), and KYQ SUVIDA Special (82505), travel the relatively longer distance of 1798 km between Mumbai and Siliguri

Many trains travel approximately 1466 km between Delhi and Siliguri on a weekly and daily basis. DBRT Rajdhani (12424), Avadh Assam Express (15910), North-East Express (12506), Mahananda Express (15484), and Brahmaputra Mail (14056) are a few of the trains that go between Delhi and Siliguri.

By bus, Sikkim is easily accessible. The Sikkim government operates fixed-rate buses between Siliguri and Gangtok through Sikkim Nationalized Transport (SNT), which departs from the bus station in Siliguri. I never thought i would scale a height of 3800 metres above sea-level, and that too with my better half! You can fly by Indigo, Air India, Air Asia, Vistara and Spice jet to reach this airport. Pakyoung does not receive any international flights. There is another airport that is closer to Gangtok, Bagdogra Airport, which is 121 km away from the town. The airport receives flights from several cities in India as well as from neighbouring countries such as Bhutan.

2. By Road:

Bus: Sikkim Nationalised Transport (SNT) are Sikkim government buses that ply between Siliguri and Gangtok. The route from Siliguri, Bagdogra, and New Jalpaiguri meets at Sevoke Road and proceeds by National Highway NH10 through a scenic route with the beautiful Teesta River flowing alongside and mountains surrounding all over.
