This tour sees remaining members Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald bring together fans spanning across the decades with a whopping 29 hit songs.

It really is the ‘idea of a nice day out’, and we’ve got everything you need to know about the four-day stint here in Leeds.

What are the stage times?

Doors open at 6pm at the First Direct Arena and the show begins from 7.25pm when support act Olly Murs will take to the stage.

The most up-to-date timings are usually announced on the First Direct Arena’s social media accounts , so we’ll be keeping an eye on these to bring you the changes as the days progress.

Who’s supporting Take That in Leeds?

Olly Murs has been widely publicised as the ‘very special guest’ for the Take That tour and the Dance With Me Tonight singer appears to be having a ball so far and Gary Barlow has said he “can’t think of anybody better” (just about).

Can’t think of anybody better… @ollymurs 😉 pic.twitter.com/eP4HmJxRBh — Take That (@takethat) April 15, 2024

The news comes after the singer welcomed his first child this week.

The “idea of a nice day out”

Gary Barlow recently blew up online with countless memes of the singer talking about his vineyard as “the idea of a nice day out”, and he’s already been quick to make it part of the set in Sheffield.

We’ll certainly be counting the number of times that the phrase comes up over the next month or so whilst the band is on tour.

How to get tickets for Take That’s 2024 UK tour: full list of dates, prices and when tickets go on sale

‘This Life On Tour’ will see the trio play 29 dates in 15 cities in the UK and Ireland

Ed Cunningham

Everyone knows Take That. They’re a British institution, responsible for some of the biggest pop tunes of the past three decades, from ‘Shine’ and ‘Patience’ to ‘Back For Good’. Just reading that, we know you’ve just started humming one of those tunes.

These days consisting of just Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, there are decisively fewer members of Take That than at the group’s peak. But they’re still going strong, having just released a new single (‘Windows’) and announced a new album (‘This Life’) to be released in November.

And now, in very exciting news, Take That have announced a tour. Named the ‘This Life On Tour’, it’ll see them play over 30 gigs in over a dozen cities. Here is everything you need to know about the tour, from dates and tickets to the support slots.

Will there be a Take That UK tour in 2024?

There most certainly will be! Take That are going on tour in the UK and Ireland from April to June 2024, covering 31 dates in 15 cities. After the presale today (September 27), further dates were added in Manchester and Leeds – more info on that below.

When do Take That tickets go on sale?

Tickets officially go on sale on September 29 at 9:30am BST . Find the general sale link here .

How much are Take That tickets?

Pricing for each venue and concert has not yet been confirmed, though ticket prices are likely to start from around £60, plus booking fees.

Can I go VIP?

Yep, you can do that through the official hospitality partner,   Seat Unique .   Packages get you things like premium seats, arrival via the hospitality entrance, premium dining options and other cool things.   Find out more here .

How to access presale

Presale was today (September 27) at 9:30am, so if you wanted to get in on the act and didn’t, it’s too late. Fans were able to access presale by pre-ordering the Take That’s new album ‘This Life’.

By all accounts, the presale sounded like a bit of a frenzy. Fans took to Twitter to express frustration at lengthy waiting times and website issues. Here’s to hoping there aren’t any similar problems when general tickets go on sale on September 29!

Take That are back on their first full-length tour in five years.

Listen to this article

Since Take That returned nearly two decades ago, they've never really gone away.

Although Robbie Williams came and went, and Jason Orange retired from pop altogether in 2013, Gary Barlow , Mark Owen and Howard Donald have kept the flame alive.

As a trio, the group have played the occasional live show in the past five years – including a massive concert at Hyde Park this summer – but they haven't been on tour properly since before COVID-19.

Finally though, Take That are back on the road, with a massive UK and Ireland tour announced for 2024.

Interested in the dates, venues, support and how to buy tickets? We've got you covered.

What songs will Take That play on the This Life tour?

Take That in Denmark in 2023

We don't know for sure what Take That will play on their upcoming dates, but we can take a pretty good guess that the setlist will include a number of songs from the upcoming This Life album that gives the tour its name, which is released on November 24.

The tracklising for This Life is:

  • Keep Your Head Up
  • Brand New Sun
  • March Of The Hopeful
  • Days I Hate Myself
  • The Champion
  • We Got All Day
  • Mind Full Of Madness
  • Time And Time Again
  • One More Word
  • Where We Are

'Windows' is a definite, being the launch single for the record, and as well as some of those newbies, we can expect a healthy smattering of hits from both their original 1990s run and '00s comeback.

take that tour leeds tickets

We'll confidently predict that they'll play the likes of 'The Flood', 'Greatest Day', 'Shine', 'Patience', 'Pray', 'Back For Good' , 'Never Forget' and 'Rule The World'.

There's also a fair chance that the running order will be filled out with the likes of 'These Days', 'A Million Love Songs' , 'Cry', 'Said It All', 'Sure' and 'The Garden'.

We also wouldn't bet against an appearance for one or more of the band's covers of 'Could It Be Magic', 'How Deep Is Your Love' and 'Relight My Fire'.

Who is supporting Take That on the This Life tour?

Olly Murs at Flackstock Festival in 2023

Announced as support for the This Life tour is former X Factor cheeky chappy and "very special guest" Olly Murs .

Olly's relationship with Take That goes back to his reality competition days, where he performed 'Angels' with on-off Thatter Robbie Williams in the 2009 final.

He also supported Take That when they played Hyde Park in the summer of 2016.

It's not impossible that another act may be added to the bill on some or all dates, but for now it's just Olly on the undercard.

Will Jason Orange or Robbie Williams appear with Take That on the This Life tour?

Take That as a five-piece in 2011

Since 2014, Take That have been very much a trio.

Robbie had returned to reunite the original five-piece lineup from 2010 to 2014, but he has since focused on his solo career.

Not long after Robbie parted from the group for the second time, Jason Orange not only left Take That, but quit the whole entertainment industry .

Nothing is impossible in the wonderful world of pop, but we'd say it's pretty unlikely that Jason will pop by.

Earlier this year Mark Owen said of Jason: "I think he felt like he didn't want to do it any more."

The three-piece Take That at the premiere of their Greatest Day film in June 2023

That tallied with Jason's own words when he left the group, saying: "There have been no fallings out, only a decision on my part that I no longer wish to do this."

Meanwhile, Gary Barlow had said: "Jason isn't coming back. Take That is Mark, Howard and me for the next few years."

And back in 2018, Howard said: "Jason has gone off the grid. He's not taking emails or phone calls or stuff like that. That's good for him."

Robbie is a very busy chap, between his solo career and long-awaited Better Man biopic , and he's only just wrapping up his XXV 25th anniversary celebration global tour at the end of 2023.

There's not been any serious whispers that he'll rock by, but he did show up with Mark not that long ago , so we've got our fingers crossed that he might consider it.

Take That are renowned for their huge productions and incredible live shows, and currently hold the record for the most performances at London’s The O2 with 34 headline shows. 2011’s Progress tour broke box office records by selling over 1 million tickets in less than 24 hours, becoming the biggest tour in the UK and earning them a place on Billboard’s annual ‘Top 25 Tours’ list, placing third worldwide. In 2019, the band celebrated their 30th anniversary with the 38 date sell-out Odyssey tour which saw them play to 29 arenas and 9 stadiums, selling over 650,000 tickets.

Take That’s brand new single, Windows , out today - sees them reunite for their first original composition in over five years.  Windows , is a beautiful track which tells the story of emerging from the darkness into the light.  As a familiar falsetto rings out across the opening notes of Windows , it signals a new era for one of Britain’s best selling bands, Take That ; an era brimming with energy, creativity and a continued desire to challenge and surprise.

The musicality of Windows hints at what listeners can expect from This Life , the band’s ninth studio album and their first since 2017’s Wonderland . Beautiful melodies, soaring choruses, sophisticated harmonies beautifully blending the trio’s voices permeate the new album, due for release on 24th November.

“It’s been a wonderful experience being back in the studio together making this record. It has that feeling of spreading your wings, letting out the old and bringing in the new” commented the band. 'We’re incredibly proud of the new album - there’s a sense of togetherness, whether that’s us coming back together as a band or people wanting connection in their own lives.  We’re excited for this new chapter!”

Throughout the writing and recording process, the band honed this new sound in some of music’s most hallowed halls, including New York’s Electric Lady Studios and Nashville’s Historic RCA Studio A which between them have hosted David Bowie, Dolly Parton, The Beach Boys, Adele, Taylor Swift, Maggie Rogers and more.

Fontaines D.C. announce huge 2024 UK and Ireland headline tour

The dates come ahead of their upcoming album ‘Romance’

Grian Chatten vocalist of Fontaines D.C. performs on the main stage during day two of the TRNSMT Festival at Glasgow Green on July 09, 2022 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Fontaines D.C. have announced details of a huge UK and Ireland tour, set to kick off later this year. Find ticket details below.

  • READ MORE: Fontaines D.C.’s daring comeback single ‘Starburster’ is their most experimental work yet

Announced today (Friday, April 19), the new dates arrive in celebration of the band’s upcoming album, ‘Romance’ .

Grian Chatten and co. shared news of their fourth LP earlier this week, dropping the pummelling new single ‘Starburster’ and confirming that it will be arriving later this August.

Produced by James Ford ( Arctic Monkeys , Foals , Depeche Mode ), the release will mark the follow-up to 2022’s acclaimed ‘ Skinty Fia ‘ and will be shared via XL Recordings. Visit here to pre-order it.

The new tour dates are set to take place across the latter half of 2024, and kick off on November 20 with an opening night at The Halls venue in Wolverhampton. From there, the tour will continue with a gig at Alexandra Palace in London two days later.

Shows in Cardiff, Plymouth, Nottingham and Manchester are lined up for the remainder of the month, and the final three shows will take place during the first week of December.

The December shows include a gig at First Direct Arena in Leeds (3), Glasgow’s OVO Hydro Arena (4), and finally, a stop at the 3Arena in Dublin on December 6.

Recommended

Support for all dates will come from Sorry , and DIIV will also be joining the Irish band for the gig at Alexandra Palace.

Tickets go on sale next Friday (April 26) at 10am and will be available here . Fans who pre-order the album by 3pm on April 23 will also have access to pre-sale tickets. Check out a full list of new tour dates below.

Grian Chatten of Fontaines DC performs on stage on the second day of TRNSMT Festival at Glasgow Green on July 09, 2022 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Fontaines D.C. upcoming UK and Ireland tour dates are:

NOVEMBER 20 – Wolverhampton – The Halls 22 – London – Alexandra Palace 24 – Cardiff – Utilita Arena 26 – Plymouth – Pavilions 27 – Nottingham – Motorpoint Arena 29 – Manchester – Aviva Studios

DECEMBER 3 – Leeds – First Direct Arena 4 – Glasgow – OVO Hydro 6 – Dublin – 3Arena

The 9-date tour through November and December will follow a summer of extensive festival shows for Fontaines D.C., which includes performances at Glastonbury , Reading & Leeds , Fuji Rock, Pukkelpop Festival, and more.

The announcement of ‘Romance’ also came with the release of lead single, ‘Starburster’ – a song inspired by frontman Grian Chatten suffering a panic attack and accompanied by a sinister and cinematic video directed by Aube Perrie ( Megan Thee Stallion , Harry Styles , The Hives ).

Reviewing the track, NME noted how the band had “taken a perfect left turn” , adding: “Leaning on the Massive Attack trip-hop noir vibes first hinted at on ‘Skinty Fia’’s title track, ‘Starburster’ is a pensive art-rock beast that fuses elements of electronica and hip-hop more akin to their fellow striking countrymen (and recent collaborators ) KNEECAP .

“Bravado meets psychedelia as the frontman says he’s ‘over harder than a turned up challenger’ and ‘the pig on the Chinese calendar’.” it added. “The video, too – a fever dream of blood, animals and a cast of misfits trying to find their way – further supports their referencing of Shygirl and Sega Bodega as key inspirations.”

Speaking about the title of the album, bassist Conor Deegan said: “We’ve always had this sense of idealism and romance. Each album gets further away from observing that through the lens of Ireland, as directly as ‘ Dogrel ‘. The second album (‘ A Hero’s Death ‘) is about that detachment, and the third is about Irishness dislocated in the diaspora. Now we look to where and what else there is to be romantic about.”

He added: “This record is about deciding what’s fantasy – the tangible world, or where you go in your mind. What represents reality more? That feels almost spiritual for us.”

Since their third album, ‘Skinty Fia’, Fontaines D.C. have also covered Nick Drake’s ‘Cello Song’ for a compilation album .

In December, the band teamed up with Massive Attack and Young Fathers to announce the release of a limited edition 12” single to support Médecins Sans Frontières in their relief efforts in Gaza. The ‘Ceasefire’ EP will arrive on June 1.

It’s 2004 all over again.

“Mean Girls” topped the box office, and fans can’t get enough of Usher and Underoath announced they’re going on tour to celebrate their breakthrough album “They’re Only Chasing Safety.”

From September through December, the ‘They’re Only Chasing Safety 20th Anniversary Tour’ will take the screamo metalcore quintet along with special guest Static Dress to theatres, ballrooms, event centers, pavilions, and music halls all over North America.

That includes gigs at New York City’s Palladium Times Square on Friday, Sept. 20 and Sayreville, NJ’s Starland Ballroom on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

“This is going to be like nothing we’ve ever done,” the band shared on Instagram .

“(We’re going to perform) ‘They’re Only Chasing Safety’ in full every night plus another set of songs voted on by each city…Let’s get nuts.”

For those who can’t wait to scream themselves hoarse with Spencer Chamberlain and Aaron Gillespie later this year, you can pick up tickets for all 35 shows as soon as today.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, April 19, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Underoath’s fourth studio album was released on June 15, 2004.

If it’s been ages since you’ve listened, the lead single was “Reinventing Your Exit;” other big tracks include “A Boy Brushed Red Living In Black And White” and “It’s Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door.”

Critics reacted favorably to the record; the band “(does) a decent job of integrating the honey and the vinegar,” Alex Henderson of AllMusic wrote.

South Carolina, known as the Palmetto State, boasts 351 golf courses that form a remarkably varied offering. From coastal gems, broad-based meadowland layouts and even courses up in the mountains in the western part of the state, the variety runs the gamut. Additionally, designs range from exclusive private clubs and real estate ventures to resort courses and remarkably affordable daily fee and municipal layouts. Moreover, golf in South Carolina is a year-round affair. In short, it’s an ideal state for diverse golf.

The state is particularly strong as a golf destination, whether for public players seeking affordable access, resort goers seeking a golf vacation, or second-home residents from other states. Data drawn from the National Golf Foundation shows that four out of every 10 rounds played in South Carolina come from out-of-state players. That’s the fourth-highest total in the country. The state has two of the four most intense regional markets in the country: the Grand Strand north and south of Myrtle Beach, and the Hilton Head-Bluffton-Beaufort area. Both are heavy on the side of resort and residential golf.

Among the draws – besides the favorable, virtually year-round golf season – is the quality of golf in South Carolina.

Harbour Town Golf Links, this week’s perennial host venue for the PGA TOUR’s RBC Heritage, is a Pete Dye-designed gem that debuted in 1969 to much acclaim for its low-lying intimacy through native corridors of live oaks and pines. It was a revolutionary golf course in its day for its small greens, reliance on all of 4-5 feet of elevation change across the entire site, and finish along the Calibogue Sound, with the iconic lighthouse behind the 18 th green.

Back then, land developer Charles Fraser was just trying to establish the island as a golf destination. He seems to have succeeded beyond even his ambitious dreams, what with two dozen golf courses now on the island and at least another 30 on the mainland side in the corridor between Savannah and Beaufort.

These, too, run the gamut of design character, including elegant real estate developments like the 36-hole properties of Colleton River, Belfair and Berkely Hall; the upscale sensibility of a resort-like May River Golf Club; or the privacy of intimate clubs like Chechessee Creek, Old Tabby Links and Secession. All are routed within the native land shaped by the Intracoastal Waterway. Their playing character changes with the tide and the wind.

Up in the Charleston area, the quality of golf starts with two classic Seth Raynor designs: the Country Club of Charleston (1925) and Yeamans Hall Club (1926).

These are both private clubs, though anyone playing the recently restored Charleston Municipal Golf Course would find Raynor’s influence palpable here as well, even though he did not directly design the course. When it comes to impressive coastal properties, Wild Dunes Resort’s Links Course (1981) still resonates with golfers four decades after it opened. Credit for that is due to the pristine nature of the site on Isle of Palms that designer Tom Fazio inherited and the way his chief shaper there, a young upstart named Mike Strantz, let his creativity run free.

Strantz further solidified his reputation as an unparalleled artisan with such designs as Bulls Bay Golf Club in the Charleston area and both Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and True Blue Golf Club up on Pawleys Island in the Myrtle Beach area.

There, they joined the region’s first golf course, Pine Lakes Country Club (Robert White, 1927), and the region’s first nationally acclaimed design, Dunes Golf and Beach Club (Robert Trent Jones Sr., 1949). By the end of the 20 th century, there were more than 100 courses in the region, including four resort layouts at Barefoot Landing, two at Grande Dunes Resort and Tidewater Golf Club.

Inland, the state has just as much quality to offer. The Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken sports the distinctive design flair of Herbert Leeds (1890s), complemented by a wedge-shaped clubhouse with eyebrow windows that is the 1902 handiwork of Stanford White, who also designed the famous clubhouse of Shinnecock Hills Golf Club on Long Island.

On the other side of town in Aiken Golf Club, a 1912 design that maxes out at 5,795 yards and yet holds up well for its Pinehurst style of shot-making demands. Small wonder it is a favorite among golfers gathered in the area during Masters week.

In the more mountainous, western half of South Carolina, the golf tends to be much more parkland-oriented. That’s the appeal of the seven-course residential golf repertoire comprising The Cliffs communities, which brought to bear the design talents of Tom Fazio, Tom Jackson, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Ben Wright. The Player-designed Cliffs at Mountain Park (2013) in Travelers Rest, 25 miles north of Greenville, is an intimately routed, very walkable course. Its vast sand splashes and wide fairways straddle the North Saluda River along a valley that sits 1,600 feet above sea level in the Blue Ridge Mountains – hardly your conventional real estate golf course.

When it comes to drama that contrasts with South Carolina’s coastal golf treasures, you can’t find a sharper counterpoint than The Cliffs at Glassy (1994) in Landrum, 11 miles east of Mountain Park. The Cliffs at Glassy, which tops out at 3,353 feet above sea level, feels like golf on the roof of the world – or at least of the Palmetto State. If it doesn’t take your breath away, it will at least make you gasp at the distant views.

For all this strength of its diverse golf offerings, the supply is still getting more interesting. Two courses east of Aiken have just debuted and already have caught the buzz of social media architecture aficionados. Old Barnwell, by Brian Schneider and Blake Conant of Tom Doak’s Renaissance Golf Design team, fills up a sandy, 575-acre site that provides plenty of room for distinct angles and alternate paths of play. Though a private club, it has a mission of inclusivity and public service that ensures its place in the greater community of state golf and sports culture.

The Tree Farm, midway between Aiken and the state capital in Columbia, is the product of PGA TOUR member Zac Blair’s imagination, a routing by Tom Doak, and the shaping skills of Kye Goalby. It’s South Carolina’s version of a trendy place like Sweetens Cove Golf Club in Tennessee or Landman Golf Club in Nebraska – golf for hearty walkers who love the game, play fast, utilize the ground game and cannot wait to tee it up again.

The vast scale of the land provides a very unconventional scope for the golf. Think of it as Mike Strantz’s Caledonia Golf & Fish Club on a much larger canvas.

When it comes to interesting golf, South Carolina menu of courses offers a wide variety that appeals to players of every imaginable sort. Small wonder it’s such a strong golf destination.
