Southampton is on the south coast of the UK at the end of the M3 motorway from London which is the road many drivers will take to get to the port. If you are coming from along the south coast or from the west, you will probably use the M27 which passes just to the north of the city.

Driving times from nearby major cities are:

  • Birmingham: 2.75 hours (140 miles)
  • London: 1.75 hours (80 miles)
  • Bristol: 2 hours (100 miles)

From Southampton airport, you can pick up a taxi from outside the terminal and it should cost less than £15.

From London, a taxi is going to be very expensive and we would generally recommend using one of the other options available. But if you are a larger group, prices can be competitive with other options. If you want the luxury of a private transfer, the companies below can all accommodate you.

Offering everything from saloons for 3 people to minibuses for 8,   Airport Pickups London  should be able to meet your transport needs.

If your group is at 8 people or fewer, then   Southampton Cruise Transfers  can offer private transfers at a competitive rate.

Real Transfers  can provide private transfers for between 1 and 8 cruise passengers.

From Southampton Airport, it is quick and easy to use other options.

Prices to Southampton from all airports except London City can be competitive if you are a party of two or more. This option may only make sense if you want to see something on the way to or from the port such as Stonehenge. Hertz , Enterprise and National all have rental offices within the port area.

London Heathrow Airport to Southampton Cruise Port: Transport Guide

If you are taking a cruise from Southampton and flying into Heathrow airport you may be wondering how to get between the two destinations.

Luckily, there are lots of options available which range in price and travel time.

taxi gatwick airport to southampton cruise port

The best way to get to Southampton Cruise Port from Heathrow Airport is to take a shuttle bus, train, or taxi.

Shuttle buses and trains are available for those on a budget ranging upwards from (£33/$44 – £140 $165 per person).

Taxis are also available starting at around £150/$123 per car.

In this post, we will look at the different options that are available, comparing the costs of each, and looking at the travel time of each.

How Long Does it Take to Get From Heathrow Airport to Southampton Cruise Port?

Depending on the mode of transport, it can take anywhere from 90 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach your Southampton Cruise Port from Heathrow Airport.

Most forms of transportation will take approximately 2 hours.

Take The Train from Heathrow Airport to Southampton Cruise Port

There are no direct trains to Southampton Central from Heathrow Airport, so all journeys will have a minimum of one change.

Many journeys will require more than one change and there are a number of different routes that go between the two train stations.

Southampton Airport Parkway Train Station

The below is a very common route between the two stations.

train london heathrow to southampton cruise port

Some routes such as the one below do include the London Underground (tube) which is not easy to navigate with luggage.

I would avoid these as there are escalators, not elevators/ lifts at many stations. Trains are often very crowded and many have no air conditioning.

Taking the London Underground with luggage could prove to be a very stressful start to your cruise holiday.

London Underground Heathrow to Southampton

On a good day, assuming no cancellations or delays, the train should only take about 2 hours and 4 minutes to arrive at Southampton Central.

Note: The train will take you to Southampton Central train station – but this isn’t Southampton Cruise Port. The journey from the train station to the port takes around 10 minutes by car or around 25 minutes if you plan on walking.

How To Get From Southampton Station to the Cruise Terminal

The best way to get from Southampton Central Station to Southampton Cruise Port is to get a taxi, take a bus or walk.

The journey by Taxi costs around £10/$13 and takes 10 minutes. The walk takes around 25 minutes and is relatively easy if the weather is dry.

If you don’t have a lot of luggage and the weather is fine, walking from the train station to the port can be a good option.

I often do this and have always found it to be easy, the route is well signposted but I’d recommend you download Google Maps.

The price of a train ticket for this journey can cost almost $100 for one person. It’s possible to reduce this DRAMATICALLY by travelling out of peak times or by pre-booking train tickets ahead of time.

If you need to travel at peak time or have multiple people travelling with you, a taxi may be a better option.

It is worth always checking that there are no strikes or industrial action planned during the times you are travelling. British Trains are not as reliable (or cheap) as those in Europe.

Another option is RailAir. This is a coach that takes you from Heathrow Airport to the Woking station.

At this station, you can take the Southampton trains that originate from the Central London station.

Taking a Taxi from Heathrow Airport to Southampton Cruise Port

Taking a taxi is the easiest and quickest option but can be expensive.

You can get to Southampton from Heathrow in as little as 90 minutes – if the roads are clear. If the traffic is bad, this could take considerably longer.

If you are a large group, it might be worthwhile hiring a private bus or minibus as this can work out cheaper per person.

Pre-booking a taxi is always a good idea and can save you a considerable amount of money.

When booking a taxi, it’s a good idea to give the taxi company your flight number instead of a fixed time, so that they can monitor your incoming flight and pick you up at the right time.

This also means that there are no extra fees if your flight is late.

In fact, all taxes and parking rates are included in the taxi price. A taxi from Heathrow Airport to Southampton Cruise Port will start at around $180 (or £153) for the car.

I’d recommend getting a quote from a company like Airport Pickups London.

Taking an Uber from Heathrow Airport to Southampton Cruise Port

Getting an Uber from Heathrow Airport to Southampton Cruise Port will cost from $170 and take around 90 minutes if the roads are clear.

The prices of Uber’s are similar to the price of pre-booking a taxi, so I would usually recommend you prebook a taxi if this is something you’d like to do.

That said if you haven’t pre-booked getting a taxi can be expensive and an Uber can be a cheaper option.

Hiring a Car

Hiring a car for a day to drive from Heathrow Airport to Southampton cruise port is an option. Cars range from £150/$182 upwards for a day and companies like Enterprise provide shuttle buses at either end.

I’d recommend using a website like RentalCars.com to find a car.

That said, it is more expensive to hire a car for the day than it is to get a taxi so I’d strongly suggest a taxi.

If you are staying in Southampton for a couple of days before your cruise though, it may be a good idea to rent a car.

Taking a Shuttle Bus/Coach from Heathrow Airport to Southampton Cruise Port

If price is your main consideration, the cheapest option is usually a shared shuttle bus.

The most well-known, busiest, and largest scheduled coach operator in the UK is National Express .

They typically run anywhere from 6 to 19 services daily between Heathrow Airport and Southampton Central.

National Express Heathrow to Southampton

The trip usually takes around 2 hours and 10 minutes. Services start at around $23 USD (£18).

I’ve used National Express on a number of occasions and have always been very impressed.

They’re on time, you sit down, put your headphones in/take a nap and taadaa, you’ve arrived!

coach transfer southampton to london heathrow

NOTE: The coach will only take you as far as Southampton Central Station, and you will still need to get from Southampton Central Station to Southampton Cruise Terminals. The easiest way to do this is by taking a taxi.

Shared Transfers

Another option that is available through the London Toolkit is shared cruise ship transfers. They offer transfers between the months of April to November and these can be a good option if you want to take a taxi but are travelling alone.

The best part about this service is that the shuttle takes you directly to the Southampton cruise port terminal.

It should take approximately 2 hours for them to get you to your destination. Prices start at about $165 USD (£136).

The downside is that the transfers go from Heathrow hotels not directly from Heathrow airport so another taxi/shuttle would be required if you’re not staying in a hotel at Heathrow.

Are There Other Options Available?

While public transportation is certainly one of the best options available, there are other options that may work better for you.

If you are a confident driver you could lease a car to drive from Heathrow Airport to Southampton cruise port.

The journey should take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes as long as traffic is clear and there are no other problems.

I wouldn’t recommend this option for the majority of people, as the drive isn’t a particularly pleasant one.

I’ve been driving in the UK for over 10 years but would still be nervous about making this journey, let alone after having been on long a flight first.

The recommended route, if you did decide to drive, would be to:

  • Drive along Wigeon Rd. and Wayfarer Rd. for 0.6 miles or 0.97 km (3 minutes).
  • Take M3 to A27 in Hampshire, and take exit 14 from M3 for 58.5 miles or 94.15 km (55 minutes).
  • Follow A33 to Ocean Cruise Terminal Berth 46-49, which is about 4.5 miles or 7.24 km (15 minutes).

Recommendations

Below are my personal recommendations. I usually use shuttle bus transfers such as National Express or on occasion use the train.

As this isn’t the easiest train journey I would recommend the bus in most situations.

When you have 4 or more passengers, there isn’t any price saving by getting a shuttle bus over a taxi so I’d recommend going for a taxi as it’s easier and more direct.

Alternative Airports

Another alternative could be flying to a different airport.

Southampton does have its own airport, although there are not as many airlines that fly into the airport as Heathrow.

Southampton Cruise Port is only a short journey from Southampton Airport.

Flying into another London airport such as Gatwick could also be a better option.

There are direct trains from Gatwick to Southampton which makes the journey by train easier.

Gatwick is also closer to Southampton than Heathrow by around 30 miles.

Things to do in Southampton

Famously, Southampton is the port the Titanic sailed out from, and you’ll find a range of maritime-themed things to do during your stay. And it’s not just all about ships and the sea – inhabited since the Stone Age, the city has plenty to do.

Where to eat

Hoxton Bakehouse

You’ll find the Hoxton Bakehouse close to Southampton Docks, serving up warm loaves of hand-leavened bread and other delicious pastries. They also offer classes on how to make your own sourdough from scratch.

It’s A Pizza Thing

Pizza is one of the world’s favourite foods – and Southampton’s It’s A Pizza Thing demonstrates exactly why. This mobile food truck is a big favourite with locals and offers hand stretched artisan pizzas, all cooked inside their wood fired oven. Check their Facebook page to see where the food truck will be set up next.

If you’re still after some lovely Italian food but don’t fancy a pizza, Ennio’s is where you’ll want to head to. With boutique hotel rooms above the restaurant, it’s known in Southampton as a place to go out for a special meal. They do also offer a more affordable lunchtime menu.

Where to drink

Whether you’re looking to sink a pint…

Southampton’s publicans are barkeeps are partial to stocking the odd pint of craft ale. Situated inside a former bank, the aptly named Overdraft Craft Ale Bar offers a wide range of rotating brews on tap, many of which are also vegan. BrewDog also has a branch in Southampton, well worth a visit. If chains aren’t your thing, pay a visit to local brewery Tap It for a range of different IPAs at their taproom.

…or sip on a cocktail instead

In 2012 it was announced that Stephen Fry and Ian McKellen would pay the licensing fees for The Hobbit pub to stay open in Southampton without needing a name change after being open for over 20 years. So pop in for a Gimli (not a gimlet – each of the drinks are named after Tolkein characters) and admire the themed décor. If you don’t need a theme to be able to enjoy a tipple, book a slot at the Bring & Mix cocktail bar – bring your own bottles and their expert mixologists will create bespoke drinks just for you.

Going ‘out out’

As well as being the birthplace of none other than Craig David, Southampton has some great nightlife. Check out student favourite, the Orange Rooms for a big night on the town.

Where to shop

Oxford Street

London isn’t the only British city with a busy shopping district on Oxford Street. Southampton has its own too, and it is home to a diverse array of boutiques and bars. The city centre is also home to many gift shops with a nautical theme, as well as independent retailers selling unique items.

Beatnik Emporium

If vintage is what floats your boat, you’ll enjoy picking out retro fashion finds at Beatnik Emporium (to buy or, if you’re planning a return trip, rent). The store also celebrates events such as World Record Store Day, and partners with local 70s-styled nightclub Orange Rooms.

Robin’s Nest

Another emporium in the city, this warehouse store stocks a vast treasure trove of furniture, fabrics and other bric-a-brac. Robin’s Nest also has a coffee shop serving up great food.

Top tourist attractions

Tudor House

Southampton’s first museum was founded in 1912 and covers over 800 years of history. Located in the Old Town, renovations to Tudor House were finished in 2011 to include new displays and facilities. The Grade I listed building remains one of the best examples of Norman architecture in England and also has a traditional knot garden.

SeaCity Museum

Visit the city centre’s SeaCity Museum to explore the story of the people of the city, their fascinating history and connections with the Titanic. Suitable for all the family, the interactive museum lets you explore Southampton’s proud, sea-faring history.

Mayflower Theatre

Visit this Grade II listed theatre for a range of different performances year-round including shows on tour from London’s West End.

Things to do for kids

Solent Sky Museum

This museum documents the history of aviation, with a focus on the local Supermarine aircraft company, which designed and manufactured the Spitfire fighter plane.

Itchen Valley Country Park

Itchen Valley Country Park is an idyllic 400-acre plot in the heart of the city. Filled with water meadows, spectacular flowers and walking trails, the Park is home to a treasure trove of wildlife, and thanks to an excellent café, is a great way to spend the day while taking in beautiful, scenic, county-wide views.

Southampton in one day

One reason Southampton is such a popular student city could be because of its relatively small size. There’s still a ton of stuff to do, and with so many attractions dotted around, city centre walks are a great way to take in everything on offer. Starting throughout the day from the city centre’s high street, experienced guides will introduce you to the city’s many sights and secrets, so keep your camera nearby.

Learn more about the Titanic

Make Southampton’s maritime history the focus of your day, with the Titantic trail walk. The Titanic sailed from Southampton on April 10, 1912. More than 500 Southampton families lost a member when the ship sank. Visit the SeaCity Museum for their Titanic Story exhibition, and if you have time after, the Southampton Art Gallery (with free entry) is also just around the corner.

Walk the walls

The Bargate and town walls still remain around the Old Town, constructed back in Norman times. Well-preserved, the wall is the third longest stretch of medieval town walling in Britain. And if you’re peckish for food, pop into local Boulangerie Victor Hugo for fresh-baked croissants.

Hidden gems

Burlsedon Brickworks

The last steam-powered brickworks in the UK is open to the public to learn about the history of industrial Britain. The Victorian-built brickworks only stopped production in 1974.

Bedford Place

An alternative to the city centre, Bedford Place is filled with independent shops and restaurants.

The area’s old-fashioned aesthetic is kept intact as much as possible, and you’ll be able to find fashion and food alongside other staples such as a pharmacy.

Southampton is a city with exceptional connectivity, regionally, nationally and internationally with an international airport, one of Europe's largest cruise port, two ferry ports and national rail and coach links. Add to this the fact that Southampton is located at the convergence of two major motorways, and it is easy to see why our city is one of the easiest to reach. If you are arriving or leaving Southampton on a cruise, please refer to our cruise pages for more information.

Southampton Central rail station is served by direct trains to and from many cities across the country including:

South Western Railway services to: London Waterloo (approximately 1 hour 20 minutes), Bournemouth (approximately 30 minutes) and Winchester (approximately 17 minutes).

Southern Railway services to: Brighton (approximately 1 hour 55 minutes), London Victoria (approximately 2 hours 30 minutes) and London Gatwick Airport (approximately 1 hour 55 minutes)

For timetables, train fares and tickets for any UK train services visit National Rail Enquiries . See the map at the top of this page for approximate journey times.

Southampton International Airport is the leading 'fast track' airport in central-southern England.

The airport is located on the northeast side of the city, near to Eastleigh and has easy access from the M27 and M3 motorways. It takes just 6 minutes by train and around 20 minutes by bus to reach the city centre from the airport.

Southampton International Airport serves many UK and European destinations and has flights to and from destinations including The Channel Islands, France, Scotland, Ireland, Spain and Italy.

The following airlines currently fly in and out of Southampton International Airport:

  • Blue Islands
  • British Airways
  • Eastern Airways

Outside the terminal, you will find three airport car parks - Priority Parking, Short Stay Parking and Long Stay Parking. All options can be pre-booked and all give easy access to the terminal.

Southampton International Airport is served by Southampton Airport Parkway railway station, a stopping point for trains to and from London Waterloo (journey time approximately 1 hour 10 minutes) and Southampton Central Station (just a 10 minute journey). There is also a taxi rank at the airport and a bus stop from which you can catch the Unilink buses into the centre. Car hire is available from across the road of the airport terminal.

For more information on cruising to or from Southampton, please see our cruise pages .

There are two Red Funnel ferry services to and from the Isle of Wight departing from Town Quay; a high speed service for foot passengers (23-25 minutes) and a ferry for vehicles, cyclists and foot passengers (55-60 minutes). The foot passenger service heads to West Cowes, and the vehicle ferry to East Cowes. Passengers are advised to book ferries in advance, particularly if travelling by car or over the school holidays and for major events such as the Isle of Wight Festival.

A half hourly ferry service to Hythe (for access into the New Forest National Park) also leaves from Town Quay. This service is for foot passengers and cyclists.

Cross-channel ferry services including Brittany Ferries and Condor Ferries operate from the nearby port of Portsmouth, offering fast and regular crossings to and from France and the Channel Islands.

The main National Express coach station for the area is located on Harbour Parade.

National Express coaches also pick up/drop off at the University of Southampton and St Mary’s Stadium .

Coaches travel to and from various destinations all over the country including many major airports such as London Heathrow and the popular destination of London. Coaches to London Victoria Coach Station take approximately 2-3 hours depending on the time of day of travel.

Southampton has excellent road links, with access from both the M3 and M27 motorways.

The Southampton City Council parking map shows council owned and managed car parks as well as on-street car parking places around the city. The interactive map also shows the car parks’ postcodes, charges and opening hours.

UK's Port Southampton marks record cruise season start with 71 calls in May

CruiseMapper logo

Associated British Ports’ (ABP) Port of Southampton set a record in May by welcoming an unprecedented number of cruise vessels, marking a strong start to the 2024 summer cruise season.

In May, the port accommodated 26 different cruise ships, making a total of 71 calls, both turnaround and transit, and hosting 400,000+ guests.

~1 million cruise passengers have passed through the port so far in 2024.

This achievement is supported by ongoing investments in dedicated infrastructure, the extensive experience of the port’s operations, and robust partnerships with cruise lines, ground handling operators, stevedores, and security teams. Notably, there has been an increase in the use of shore power at the Port of Southampton, with 20% of cruise visits in May utilizing this facility. This allows ships to switch off their engines and achieve zero emissions while docked.

The influx of cruise ships is a significant boon for the local and regional economy, supporting thousands of jobs and businesses and attracting tourists to Southampton and its surrounding areas. In 2023, the port welcomed 2.75 million passengers, generating over GBP 1 billion for the economy. The trend in 2024 suggests an increase in these economic benefits.

ABP Southampton, in partnership with GO! Southampton, launched the Welcome Volunteer Programme. This initiative involves volunteers with local knowledge who assist transit passengers by providing information about the city and its attractions. The Welcome Volunteers, stationed at the cruise terminals, play a crucial role in enhancing the passenger experience and adding value to their visit to Southampton.

6 Top Transatlantic Cruises for 2024

T ransatlantic cruises are unique when you compare them to traditional cruises most people book for family trips and romantic getaways. These voyages tend to be longer in general, and they have more built-in days at sea and offer a lot more time on board as a result. Repositioning cruises that include a transatlantic crossing tend to attract more retirees and travelers who just want to relax and enjoy their ships' amenities, especially since fewer days in port means fewer excursions and more time doing nothing at all.

That said, the fact that transatlantic cruises can last as few as seven nights means they may fit in your plans more easily than you may think. There are also some benefits to transatlantic crossings that may not be obvious, including lower nightly rates, more onboard credit, and more time to kick back and relax at a floating luxury resort in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

If you're curious which transatlantic cruises are best for 2024, here are six top picks with different cruise lengths, itineraries and unique destinations to explore.

Explore cruises on GoToSea , a service of U.S. News.

Cunard Line

Date: Departs May 5, 2024

Departure port: Brooklyn, New York

Starting price: $2,449 per person (plus port taxes and fees)

Cruise length: 7 to 18 nights

In May of 2024, Cunard's Queen Mary 2 vessel will offer three different transatlantic crossings of various lengths. Choose from a seven-night sailing from Brooklyn, New York , to Southampton, England; a nine-night sailing to Hamburg, Germany ; and an 18-night round-trip sailing that departs from Brooklyn and crosses the Atlantic twice on the way back to its starting point. This unique combination of itineraries lets you cross the sea and tailor your trip to how long you want to be away from home.

The 18-night itinerary is especially interesting, since it lets you depart from the United States and arrive back in Brooklyn in the end with stops in both England and Germany, as well as plenty of sea days in between. Luxury cruise line Cunard is known for its elegant design, lush amenities and upscale feel, and the Queen Mary 2 is one of the line's most luxurious ships. Highlights on this exclusive vessel include the Royal Court Theatre, a casino, gala evenings, an onboard spa and a vast library. The Queen Mary 2 holds up to 2,691 guests with 1,173 crew to cater to your every need.

Seabourn Cruise Line

Date: Departs March 24, 2024

Departure port: Miami

Starting price: $5,949 per person (plus port taxes and fees)

Cruise length: 21 nights

Seabourn is offering a 21-night transatlantic cruise from Miami on Seabourn Quest in March 2024 that offers a diverse range of ports of call before ending its voyage in Las Palmas in Spain's Canary Islands . Departure from Miami is followed by nine days at sea. Then, you'll enjoy multiple stops in the Canary Islands – including Santa Cruz de La Palma and San Sebastián de La Gomera – as well as stops in Praia and Mindelo the Cape Verde archipelago.

This journey with Seabourn makes it possible for travelers to see some of the most beautiful and remote tropical islands in the world. The Canary Islands are known for their white sand beaches , volcanoes and lush greenery; similar landscapes can also be found in Cape Verde's coastal towns and villages. Seabourn Quest, a smaller ocean vessel, accommodates just 229 guests.

MSC Cruises

Date: Departs Nov. 8, 2024

Departure port: Southampton, England

Starting price: $769 per person (plus port taxes and fees)

Cruise length: 16 nights

The MSC Virtuosa from MSC Cruises is repositioning from Europe to the Caribbean in November 2024, which gives travelers the chance to enjoy a lengthy transatlantic crossing with plenty of unique ports. This sailing departs from England with eight sea days plus stops in France, the Azores of Portugal, St. Maarten , Antigua and Barbuda, and Martinique . The ship ends its journey in Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe.

The MSC Virtuosa is a larger cruise vessel that boasts an impressive grand promenade with a LED dome ceiling, dedicated clubs for children and teens, an onboard spa, a lavish casino and the luxurious MSC Yacht Club section of the ship. This vessel holds a maximum of 6,334 passengers at once.

360 Kiosk Email : Tips on Trips and Expert Picks

Princess Cruises

Date: Departs July 5, 2024

Departure port: New York City (Manhattan or Brooklyn)

Starting price: $4,098 per person (plus port taxes and fees)

Cruise length: 31 nights

Princess Cruises also offers its share of transatlantic sailings on various vessels. Its 31-night crossing from New York to Barcelona, Spain , on Island Princess in July 2024 is jam-packed with exciting destinations to explore. This lengthy transatlantic voyage has only 13 sea days with planned stops in Canada's Newfoundland, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, England, Spain, Portugal and Morocco before the journey ends in Barcelona.

This intriguing sailing experience with Princess takes passengers to eight different countries in the span of a month. Island Princess is a nice ship for a long sailing because of its smaller size, with just 2,200 passengers and 900 crew. But the ship is also large enough to have a huge selection of included and specialty dining options, a Vegas-style casino, a sports court, a large central atrium for gathering, and several pools and hot tubs to enjoy.

Celebrity Cruises

Date: Departs April 11, 2024

Departure port: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Starting price: $760 per person (plus port taxes and fees)

Cruise length: 12 nights

Celebrity Cruises is offering a 12-night sailing on Celebrity Equinox in April 2024 that starts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida , and ends in Lisbon, Portugal – making it possible for travelers to enjoy eight relaxing days at sea. What's interesting about this sailing is its stops along the way, which include the Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda; Porta Delgada in Portugal's Azores archipelago; and Porto in mainland Portugal.

The Celebrity Equinox accommodates a maximum of just 2,852 passengers at once, so this Celebrity vessel is a solid choice for travelers who want just the right size ship instead of a smaller vessel or a megaship. There are also plenty of onboard features to keep you happy and entertained as you float across the Atlantic Ocean, including The Casino, The Lawn Club with outdoor games like bocce ball and croquet, The Martini Bar, the adults-only Solarium and more.

Royal Caribbean International

Dates: Departs Oct. 24, 2024

Departure port: Barcelona, Spain

Starting price: $876 per person (plus port taxes and fees)

Cruise length: 14 nights

Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas is hosting a transatlantic voyage in October 2024 that departs from Barcelona, Spain, and ends in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This vessel will make stops in Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, Cartagena and Málaga in Spain, then spend eight days at sea. After that, enjoy a day in Nassau in the Bahamas before the cruise drops passengers off in sunny Florida.

Interior staterooms on this Royal Caribbean sailing start at just $876 per person (plus port taxes and fees), which works out to around $60 per night, per person. The Oasis of the Seas megaship can hold a total of 6,771 guests and 2,109 crew, so it's an enormous vessel – to put it mildly. This size may not be ideal for travelers who want a more intimate cruising experience, but it's perfect for cruisers who want plenty of space to spread out and endless activities to take part in. Oasis of the Seas boasts 20 different restaurants and cafes, 11 bars and lounges, a variety of pools and whirlpools, a rock climbing wall, the AquaTheater diving and entertainment venue, mini-golf, a casino and plenty more.
