Genting Dream to Set Sail from Melaka Starting in November 2024
- August 17, 2024
Resorts World Cruises is launching two-night cruises from Singapore to Melaka and Kuala Lumpur aboard the Genting Dream starting November 10, 2024, according to a press release.
Guests will enjoy extended port times of 10 to 12 hours in Melaka, with plenty of opportunities to explore before continuing to Kuala Lumpur.
The Genting Dream will dock near Melaka city, where guests can visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site known for Dutch Square’s red colonial buildings and Jonker Streetās shopping and dining.
āResorts World Cruises is delighted to add Melaka as one of our latest destinations and homeports, which will further contribute towards the success of the stateās āVisit Melaka 2024ā campaign and the development of the cruise tourism sector in Melaka. With a total of 52 calls a year, the Genting Dream will bring up to 200,000 passengers to Melaka annuallyā, said Michael Goh, president of Resorts World Cruises.
āThe Melaka state government is pleased to welcome the collaboration with Resorts World Cruises through its cruise ship, Genting Dream, which has chosen Melaka as its new destination. With an average of 200,000 passengers per year, this will contribute to the increase in tourist numbers during Visit Melaka 2024, thus boosting the economic growth of Melaka. I hope that, with this new attraction, Melaka will become the top-of-mind and preferred tourist destination,ā said Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, the Chief Minister of Melaka.
Travelers can embark every other Monday from Melaka via the ICQS Complex, combining their Melaka stay with the three-night Melaka-Singapore-Penang-Kuala Lumpur (via Port Klang) cruise.

Cruising Experience with Genting Dream by Dream Cruises
Check out my experience on board with Genting Dream Cruise – what activities you can do, restaurants to try, and list of entertainments including shows and casino!
I did the cruising twice, one was 5D4N Singapore – Surabaya – North Bali – Singapore , the second one was 3D2N cruising from Singapore – Port Klang – Singapore .
When was the last time I did cruising, nearly 18 years ago!
Yep, I was still a little kid at that time.
I could only recall a few things, things that of course a kid would love – swimming pool, circus, and casino.
Wait, casino? How was a kid supposed to know about casino?
Easy, that’s where my parents would go right after me and my siblings fell asleep.
And now, 18 years later, I had a chance to be back on cruise again – this time with Genting Dream Cruise .
So, let’s jump in to my Genting Dream Cruise review!
Getting on Board with Genting Dream Cruise
Entering the port, I saw this big building on distance, and it wasn’t a building.
It’s the ship that I’m going to board, man it’s huge!
The port was busy, with guests from the cruise hopping down on shore to get souvenirs or just to stay on land.
While some other local audiences just hang around the port to marvel this big ship, something that can be rarely seen.
We cleared the registration ( make sure you bring your passport ) and headed up to the room.
I had a double room with a balcony outside . It’s bigger than I thought.
The bed was super comfy, seriously I had perfect sleep throughout the night.
There’s a sofa to lay down when I’m not wearing my pajamas, complete set of sandals and bathrobes, oh and I love their shower gel, smells good.
The little balcony is perfect to chill or to watch sunset.
I’m super ready to explore Genting Dream Cruise!
Eat while you can
One of a friend told me; before you start cruising, measure your weight and after you’re back home, you’ll be surprised!
Now I understand why.
There’s no way to not stuffing yourself with all these yummy food.
With restaurants serving high quality food, ranging from Asian to Western Cuisine, you’ll forget all your dietaries rule and, just feed yourself.
The inclusive restaurants in Genting Dream are Lido Restaurant and Dream Dining Room .
Lido Restaurant serves more varieties of food with buffet style while Dream Dining Room serves Chinese cuisine.
I had my breakfast normally in these restaurants.
The other restaurants that I also tried were the Hotpot, Bistro by Mark Best, Blue Lagoon, and Umi Uma .
If I had to choose one of my favorite restaurants ,Ā I think I’ll go for Bistro by Mark Best and Umi Uma ( sorry, I can’t decide between these two ).
I think the food at the Bistro is just on another level for fine dining.
The tenderloin steak was soft and juicy with seasoning on point and the mouth-watering matcha mousse just melt when you take a spoon of it.
Thinking of it now makes me regret, why didn’t I order more food?
My other favorite restaurant in Genting Dream Cruise is Umi Uma Restaurant .
You can guess from its name that it’s a Japanese Restaurant, meaning that there’ll be sushi, sashimi, bento, udon ( I love them all!).
The highlight of this restaurant is the teppanyaki performance .
You’ll be sitting around a table with a chef cooking right on your face.
The chefs are very entertaining.
They pull off some fun attractive moves such as singing, juggling, like, spinning the eggs and throw them to the chef’s hat while cooking your food.
I really enjoy the interactions between the chefs and the guests, the atmosphere in the restaurant is full of excitement.
You definitely have to go to Umi Uma.

Other activities and entertainments in Genting Dream Cruise
Frankly, I was thinking what could I do inside the ship for such a long time.
But after all the experiences in Genting Dream Cruise, clearly there’s nothing to worry about.
There are so many things to do and you won’t get bored for sure.
Again, the ship is huge. Sometimes I still forgot the direction back to my room.
Let’s have a look what’s inside Genting Dream, shall we?
1. Zodiac Theater
Every night there will be show scheduled in Zodiac Theater.
With shimmering outfits and stage, the talented performers will stun you with their dancing skills and acrobatic movements.
Voyage of the Lovers Dream is a must to watch in Genting Dream Cruise.
The theatrical show will take you to a fantasy world of the unique love story between the mermaid and the astronaut.
Some dances can be powerful, some features remarkable ballet moves. For me it’s a night to remember.
2. The Bridge Tour
See what it’s like to be on a captain seat with the Bridge Tour.
The Bridge is the most important area of the ship where the captain and his officers control and ensure that the ship runs safely on the sea.
The crew, as a guide will explain how to see the numbers on screen telling the depth of the sea, the speed, etc.
You may also have a conversation with the friendly officers.
3. Pool, Water Slide, and Sportplex
Pool and sportplex area always get busy during the day.
There’s always be activities prepared by the crew such as games, aerobic, and many more.
I didn’t try the water slide but I bet it’s gonna be fun.
There’s even a basketball court on the ship! I did the wall-climbing, rope course, and the flying-fox.
The flying-fox is one of my best experience on the ship, it’s nerve-wrecking.
Imagine you’re zip-lining from one end to another with wide open sea below, and it’s like 35 meters high!
4. Crystal Life Fitness and Spa
You may eat a lot but at least gotta burn some calories, agree?
Head to the Crystal Life Fitness Center in Genting Dream Cruise and do some cardio workout or weight-lifting, even better.
Believe me, doing workout facing the sea is not things you can do regularly, except on the cruise-so make it count!
Then you can spoil yourself with the spa treatment, what a life!
5. Bar Hopping!
Need a bit of alcohol intake to make yourself a bit more relax?
Bars are just on every corner of Dream Cruise.
If you’d like to drink while getting your tan line under the sun then Pool Deck Bar or Sun Deck Bar is the place for you.
Champagne lovers? Straight to the Bubbles Champagne Bar .
I prefer the Johnnie Walker House as a fan of whisky ( sounds like an old man, eh ).
Look at this gorgeous Whisky Constellation Wall, offering a comprehensive index of Scotch whisky distilleries.
6. Zouk Club and Zouk Beach Club
Surprisingly, my favorite club, Zouk is inside the Genting Dream.
I was a regular at the Zouk Club Kuala Lumpur and knowing that there’s another Zouk inside the cruise reminds me of that old nights.
The DJs were great, also the lights and lasers are sick, surely meet the Zouk’s standard.
If you wanna chill a bit you can go next door to play bowling or billiard.
Another best moment in the Dream Cruise.
7. Genting Casino
Like my parents, cruising is a fun way to spend your money and bet for your luck in the casino.
Get the chips ready and hit the table, who knows you’ll bring a suitcase of dollars back home.
I don’t really see many tables on board. However, there’re some slot machines that you can play with.
The minimum bet for casino tables in Genting Dream Cruise ranges between SGD 100 – 200 .
For the machines, it shouldn’t cost that much, maybe around SGD 10 .
8. Party and Fireworks
The last night on the ship was full of blast! Everyone’s just dancing and had fun in the main pool deck.
No matter young or old, people just dance to the music and follow the movements by the crew on the stage, like a flashmob.
Looks like everyone enjoying their time, including me.
Before calling it a night, we watched the fireworks on the sea and time for sweet dreams.
Second time with Genting Dream Cruise
Far flung in the middle of the sea, a ship – immensely built and designed to award holiday-seekers with its most luxurious experience – sailed across the Malacca Strait from Singapore to Malaysia.
The art piece on the both sides of the vessel is tastefully crafted to leave a strong impression to anyone who lays eyes on it.
Genting Dream Cruise Singapore , set on its journey to entertain more than 3,000 passengers on board, including myself.
That could be a nice narrative for an intro or trailer of a movie, can you imagine that? haha .
I think I’m trying to hard to put a nice words – which I love to try for learning and practicing my writing.
So, recently I just had a trip with Genting Dream Cruise ( again! ) and I’m very excited to share it with you guys.
As you might have known, this was my second time, as always, it never failed to please me.
My Genting Dream Cruise Singapore Experience: Enroute Singapore – Port Klang – Singapore
The route that I had this time was an easy and fun 3D2N, cruising from Singapore to Port Klang and back to Singapore .
It’s also the most popular since it’s do-able for weekend trip.
Once I arrived at Marina Bay Cruise Centre , the giant ship was waiting calmly before embarking to its destination, Port Klang in Malaysia.
I couldn’t stop myself from admiring, even though it’s not my first time – either Genting Dream Cruise is too good-looking, or maybe I just missed her.
Same procedure, checking-in, clearing the immigration and custom, and lastly getting on board!
I won’t really go into details this time, cause I’ve written about it on my last post.
It’ll be more about my experience and things that I had not experience before, let’s get started!
Privacy at The Palace Suite
One thing that I noticed being in a large cruise ship was, obviously, in contact with a bee-swarm of other passengers who would likely use the facilities provided.
It can be quite overwhelming for those who prefer to enjoy the cruise peacefully.
Elevate your cruising experience by staying in The Palace – part boutique hotel, part private clubhouse – meticulously shaped to ensure absolute comfort.
Indulge in between these four different types of room or suite in The Palace: Palace Suite, Palace Deluxe Suite, Palace Penthouse, and Palace Villa .
An additional benefit for staying at The Palace is the exclusive facilities, privately accessible only for The Palace’s guests including the swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym, even dining area.
On the second day on Genting Dream Cruise, we had a chance to explore the swimming pool area, no one was there.
It might be too early for people to swim at that time but it’sĀ a good timing for us to hit every corner and get the best angle to capture nice picture.
If only I had the whole day just relaxing, putting all the itineraries prepared for us on the side, I probably could spend the rest of the day swimming and sun-bathing here on this deck.
There are two jacuzzis just right in the front facing the ocean.
The sun, blue sky, ocean, and fancy cruise, couldn’t ask for a better way to enjoy life!
Dine, Spa, and Entertainment in Genting Dream Cruise
One thing I worried the most, and I knew it would be hard for me to handle while I was with Genting Dream Cruise.
Guess what? It’s to hold the temptation to eat all the food served at the restaurants.
Every time I stepped into a restaurant, I needed to remind myself to control my eating, or else all the diet and workouts that I had done would be useless.
You all know what happened next, don’t you? Screw the diet, I’m on holiday!
The sound of clattering spatula hitting the iron plate table jumbled with the sizzling sound of the ingredients.
Occasionally, a gleeful voice shouting in a high pitch jacked up the chaos inside the room, a good chaos.
Umi Uma Restaurant was filled with happiness, laughter, and admiration thanks to the Kungfu Chef.
Here in Uma Umi Restaurant, the food that you order will be made on spot by the chef.
On top of that, with a good sense of humor, the chef entertains everyone as a starter before the food is served and enjoyed.
I ordered the Dream Ocean from the menu, the shrimp and scallop are the rock star, served with fried rice, miso soup, and refreshing salad.
I finished everything to the last bite.
That was my first sin, the second one was lunch at Bistro by Mark Best – which wasn’t so bad in a way – that the portion was still acceptable for my diet.
It’s a fine dining anyway, a small but punching food could take me literally to heaven, cause it’s so yum!
First, they brought us a basket of bread and a plate full of salami and prosciutto.
Next, for the appetizer, a bowl of thick cauliflower soup with a drop of caviar, all the flavor exploded in my mouth!
Then the main came, pan-seared codĀ with a special creamy puree and to wrap everything up, a delicate green tea cake.
Meanwhile, when we had a bit of free time, exploring the cruise on our own was the only thing to do, better than staying inside the room.
Deck 16 and 17 were the area in Genting Dream Cruise that we hung around the most.
It’s the open area and for sure, people would love to enjoy the sun and do outdoor activities.
Everything is free to use, from swimming pool, playground, flying fox, basketball court, and outdoor beach club.
I did try a one-hour massage here in Crystal Life Spa .
The appearance of the furniture, decoration, and the choice of color was very nice, soft and relaxing.
Before entering the room, a form was given to me and I could choose which part of my body would get more attention later on, I chose neck and shoulder, my favorite area.
The full body massage began from my back, down to my legs, and ended up with a massage in my head.
It was good, the masseuse was attentive and questioned if the strength was good enough.
I fell asleep not long before the massage finished.
In my previous trip with Genting Dream Cruise, I didn’t get the chance to watch China Got Talent .
That’s why I was very excited to see the show.
It felt like we’re the audience and the judges were projected on big screen, giving comments to the performers. Some acts were thrilling, some were creative.
It goes without saying, all these performers show their best talent to entertain everyone on board.
Go watch them yourself, I don’t wanna be a spoiler!
Sadly, everything has come to an end. Three days were too quick.
I definitely wanna check other routes by Genting Dream Cruise, maybe to Japan, or Thailand.
Or maybe it’s sister cruise, World Dream Cruise, will see!

GENTING DREAM: Cruise Guide for First-Timers
The idea of going on a cruise may be intimidating for some because of the cost. Others dismiss it as a retiree’s holiday option. That may be true many years back, but this trend is gradually changing as years roll by.
The rise of more cruise lines, offering different options and encouraging healthy competition, resulted in relatively reasonable cruise rates. Some of these companies are going the extra mile to reach out to the growing number of travelers that are willing to spend on things or experiences that give good value for money by creating themed cruise ships and coming up with innovative itineraries. Genting Dream is one of those that cater to a wide range of guests — friends, families, couples, and even company incentive trips (or sales conference/meeting).
If you will be sailing with Genting Dream soon and it is your first time, this post is for you. We hope this will help you prepare and maximize your cruise experience. Here are the things you can expect.
WHAT'S COVERED IN THIS GUIDE?
Packing & Pre-Trip Preparations
- Travel Documents. You need to bring these documents: passport, a photocopy of your passport’s bio page, a copy of your cruise ticket, and a visa (if necessary). If you are a Philippine passport holder, no visa needed because the sail destinations are within Southeast Asia and the homeport is Singapore. If you want a hassle-free purchase transaction, you may present your credit card.
- Clothes/Outfits. Come on. We know you want to snap as many photos as you can while onboard and during shore excursions. We normally pack two sets of clothes per day: casual for the day activities and smart casual or dressy outfits for the night events, especially if you plan to watch the evening shows or try the fine-dining specialty restaurants. The same goes for footwear. The important thing is that you are comfortable.
- Toiletries. The stateroom comes with the toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, cotton buds, and tissues. It also has bath towels, hand towels, bathrobes, and hotel slippers.
- Check-in Luggage. Each passenger can check in more than one luggage without incurring additional fees.
- Onboard Currency. The default currency while on the ship is the Singapore Dollar (SGD).
- Onboard Time. Genting Dream follows Singapore time (same as the Philippines) throughout the entire cruise.
- Dream Cruise Mobile App. Download the App before getting onboard. You can use the App to view ship information, see the daily onboard schedule, check availability of onboard attractions and facilities. You can also use this to send IM to your shipmates, purchase your onboard WiFi package, and review your onboard account statement.
- Embarkation Process. Genting Dream is homeporting in Singapore at the Marina Bay Cruise Center. Upon arrival at the terminal, look for the baggage drop area for the pieces of luggage you want to check-in. Prepare your travel documents for check-in. After that, you will pass through immigration and then security checks before you can finally board the ship.
- Checking-in. You need to present your cruise ticket at the check-in counter to get your Access Card that will serve as your cabin keycard and your purchase card for onboard shopping and when dining at specialty restaurants. You can check-in online via the official website from 7 days up to 24 hours prior to the departure date. If you are going on a shore excursion, you also need to present the Access Card when getting off and returning to the ship. Do not lose this card. When you do, relax. Go to the Reception and they will print another one for you after answering SOP questions.
- Surrender Passport. Upon boarding, the staff will take your passport. Do not panic. You will get it back after the cruise (before you check out).
WELCOME ABOARD!
ATTENTION! Changi Lounge is offering the Fly-Cruise Transfer service, which includes: Seamless bag transfer. End-to-end luggage transfer from Changi Airport Baggage Claim area to the Marina Bay Cruise Terminal to your stateroom! Your luggage will be waiting for you in your cabin. Advance cruise check-in at the lounge. You will have your documents processed in advance and get your Access Card here. Enjoy the lounge amenities. Complimentary buffet, various drink selections, free internet connection, desktop computers, and electrical outlets. It also has meeting rooms, a nap room, and a shower room. You can also explore Jewel while waiting. The lounge is located near the famous Rain Vortex and the Changi Experience Studio. Ground transfer. The transportation to the cruise terminal from the airport is also covered. When you avail of this service, you will skip the check-in process at the Marina Bay Cruise Center and head straight to the immigration process.
Safety Drill
Before setting sail, there’s a safety drill that everyone is required to participate in. You need to pay attention and familiarize yourself with the ship’s map, especially your Assembly Station (which is indicated on your Access Card), and the emergency exits in case of an emergency. Check the Dream Daily/Dream Weekender directory that you will find in your cabin for the safety drill schedule. Ours was held at 9:00 PM.
3 Complimentary Restaurants
This is part of what you paid for when you booked your cruise ticket. You can dine here without incurring additional fees. It’s free-of-charge. Genting Dream has three inclusive restaurant options:
- Dream Dining Room Lower. It serves either a semi-buffet type or Chinese set menu, depending on the schedule. You may check the Dream Daily/Dream Weekender directory for the info. This is located on Deck 7, Aft section of the ship. Reservation is required.
- Dream Dining Room Upper. This only serves the Chinese set menu. This is located on Deck 8, Aft section of the ship. Reservation is required.
- The Lido. This serves Asian and international buffet, including Halal and Indian cuisines. The outdoor area of the restaurant is a 24-hour snack place that also serves morning tea and afternoon tea. This is located on Deck 16, Aft section.
Dream Dining Room Upper and Lower have a ballroom hall-themed setting and floor-to-ceiling windows that afford guests the magnificent views of the ocean.
Note: Alcoholic drinks are not free-of-charge.
You may also try the specialty restaurants! Genting Dream has nine. Charges apply when dining at any of these, but if you are craving any of their offerings, go for it. Here are your options:
- Umi Uma (Japanese Cuisine and Teppanyaki / Korean BBQ; Deck 8, Aft)
- Hot Pot (Choice of meat, seafood or vegetarian hot pot; outdoor setting; Deck 8, Aft)
- Prime Steakhouse by Mark Best (Western Dishes / Steak; Deck 8, Mid)
- Seafood Grill by Mark Best (Western Dishes / Seafood; Deck 8, Mid)
- Gelateria (Homemade Gelato; Deck 8, Aft)
- Blue Lagoon (Hawker Food / Asian and International; Deck 7, Mid, open 24 hours)
- Lobby CafƩ (Coffee / Tea / Bread; Deck 6, Mid)
- Silk Road Chinese Restaurant (Chinese Fine Dining; Deck 6, Forward)
- Crystal Life Cuisine (Healthy Options; Deck 15, Forward)
Shore Excursions (Shorex)
To put it simply, these are pre-arranged tours at every stop. One of the best things I love about cruising is that you get to visit other countries while enjoying the cruise ship’s amenities and features at the same time.
This time with Genting Dream, we took the weekend getaway package with a stop at Bintan Island in Indonesia. For this stop, there are three Shorex options to choose from: Tanjung Urban Explorer, Scuba Tryout at Trikora Coast, and Bintan Black Coral Leisure Diving. We took the first option which includes Gurun Pasir Busung (sand desert), Telaga Biru (Blue Oasis), and Trily Resort Center Mangrove Forest in the itinerary.
You can also pull a D-I-Y. It’s up to you. Here are the scenarios:
- Booking a Shorex. This is the same as joining a guided group tour. You won’t have to worry about getting to one attraction to the next or how much it will cost you because everything, including the meal, will be taken care of for you by the local tour operator partners. You can be assured that you will return to the ship on time.
- Pulling a D-I-Y. You can travel at your own pace and control your itinerary. It is also a cheaper option. BUT, you need to be aware of the time. Make sure that you return to the port on time or earlier because the ship will not wait for you. It will leave, with or without you.
Whatever you choose, you will be given a small sheet of paper upon disembarkation. This usually contains instructions and the address of the port where the ship is docked. Don’t forget to bring your Access Card and a photocopy of your passport bio page.
Note: Some Shorex options may require a lot of walking or trekking or activities that might not be suitable for those with health issues. Carefully check the itinerary and assess if the tour is viable for you. Also, each tour needs a minimum number of participants. A tour may be canceled if it doesn’t meet the minimum requirement.
Room and Amenities
Genting Dream has four types of accommodations: Interior Stateroom, Oceanview Stateroom, Balcony Stateroom, and the exclusive suites, collectively referred to as The Palace. Since the ship caters to families and big groups, there are over 100 connecting rooms. About 70 percent of accommodations feature spacious balcony staterooms. Aside from the toiletries and towels, the rooms also have haird ryer, mini-refrigerator, safe, water kettle, complimentary bottled water, tea, coffee, and sugar packets. These are replenished daily as housekeeping do regular cleaning.
The cheapest is the Interior Stateroom. If you want to make the most of the ship’s features, you will probably be spending most of your time outside the room — swimming, sunbathing, eating, playing, shopping, watching shows or going on shore excursions.
Here are some amenities that you can enjoy for FREE:
- Waterslide Park. You have six slide types to choose from — from gentle slopes for the family to steep inclines for the adventurous. Wear proper swimming attire. Follow the rules and the staff on duty for your safety. Located on Deck 20, Aft.
- Main Pool and Kids Water Park. Located on Deck 16, Mid. You can see the Waterslide Park from here. You can also relax and sunbathe at the Sun Deck on Deck 17, Mid.
- Crystal Life Fitness. This is the gym. If you don’t want to miss your workout routine, you can do it here. Located on Deck 15. You can also go to the Jogging Track on Deck 17, Forward.
- Ropes Course. Perfect bonding activity for the family, couples, and groups. Complete the course and punctuate it with the 35-meter zipline, gliding along the side of the ship above the water from Deck 18.
- Sportsplex. A large outdoor court that can host basketball, tennis, archery, bubble soccer, and other physical games. Located on Deck 19, Aft.
- Rock Climbing Wall. Wear proper footwear. Located on Deck 18, Aft.
- Mini-Golf. Nine-hole putting course. Please wear proper sports shoes. Located on Deck 18, Aft.
If you like to shop or bring home some souvenirs, you can get duty-free items from The Dream Boutiques located on Decks 6 and 7. The Dream Store/Souvenir Mart, located on Deck 6, is where you can get Dream Cruises merchandise. If you fell in love with one of the artworks you see inside the ship, you can go to the Art Gallery, located on Deck 8, to purchase a copy of that artwork.
Evening Shows and Events
The night is as exciting as the day onboard Genting Dream. You can choose from brilliant live production shows brought to you by the award-winning international entertainment team. During our cruise, we have two choices: SONIO – A Tale of Two Dreams and Some Like It Hot. We were able to watch the latter at Zodiac Theatre. You need to reserve your seat for the show at the Box Office on Deck 6 (Mid). You can find the opening hours of the Box Office on the Dream Daily/Dream Weekender directory sheet provided in your cabin.
If you want to brush up on your moves and still got the energy to dance the night away, let Zouk and Zouk Beach Club orchestrate an unforgettable party for you as it brings the best beats by world-class DJs. Both are located on Deck 17. Zouk is Singapore’s most sought-after nightclub and consistently chosen one of the top ten clubs in the world.
If you booked a 5-night cruise, expect a grand night party on the last night called Dream Night. This usually happens at the pool deck. You can also check out the bars if you just want to have a sip and unwind. Here are some of them: Sun Deck Bar (Deck 17/Mid), Pool Deck Bar (Deck 16/Mid), Red Lion (Deck 7/Mid/24 hours), Bar 360 (Deck 6/Mid), Karaoke (five rooms/Deck 6/Mid), and Bar City, a collection of bars in one area: Johnnie Walker House, Penfolds Wine Vault, Mixt Cocktail Bar, Humidor Cigar Lounge, and Bubbles Champagne Bar (Deck 8/Mid).
Cinema at Sea
For movie enthusiasts, you can still watch while on board. Depending on the schedule, here are the places to catch flicks: Zodiac Theatre (Deck 7/Forward), Zouk Beach Club (Deck 17/Aft), and the Lobby (Deck 6/Mid). Check the Dream Daily/Dream Weekender directory sheet for the venue and the time.
Yes! You can connect to the internet while at sea. How? Subscribe to WiFi through the Dream Cruises Mobile App. Here are the rates. Note: Rates vary depending on how many days and the package type.
- Standard: SGD19 – SGD95. Good for e-mail, chat, and social media. You can connect up to two devices.
- Premium: SGD29 – SGD145. Good for e-mail, chat, social media, and light media streaming. You can connect up to two devices.
Checking Out and Disembarkation
The day before disembarkation, you will receive a Disembarkation Notice explaining the check out procedure, disembarkation procedure, travel document collection, and baggage collection.
- If you don’t want to carry your luggage throughout the disembarkation process, you may leave it outside your cabin on or before the specified time. Set aside a small carry on bag for all the important stuff such as your wallet, your travel documents, prescribed medicine, etc. Get your luggage at the Baggage Claim Area after going through the immigration process.
- Settle your account’s balance before checking out to avoid delays during disembarkation. Reminder: A mandatory gratuity of SGD21 per night is charged to EVERY guest. For guests staying in the suite, it’s SGD26 per night. This rule is not applicable to infants below two years old.

(Genting Dream Cruise) 14 Reasons You Should Board This Cruise Ship
Have you been on the Genting Dream cruise? If you have not, here is a brief introduction to the brand new elevated experience, where you can enjoy sailing on theĀ 19 floors cruise ship!
Genting Dream is one of the 3 cruise tours offered in the Dream Cruises line by Resorts World Cruises of Genting Group. The others are *World Dream and Explorer Dream. This cruise ship with the concept of Ā āA Resort Cruising at Sea'', Ā measuresĀ 335m in length and 40m in width.Ā With up toĀ 18 decks Ā and lots of food and fun activities, you can indulge in all the amenities and comfort while at sea!
*Update: World Dream ceased operation on 2 March 2022 and Explorer Dream was renamed Resorts World OneĀ
However, some of the entertainment and services here are not included in the all-inclusive offerings and require extra charges. So make sure to fatten up your wallet before coming. Without further ado, letās dive into theĀ 14 reasons you should board the Genting Dream.
Super HugeĀ
The Genting Dream cruise ship can accommodate up toĀ 3,352 passengers (lower berth) with 1,674 staterooms.Ā During the day, adrenaline junkies can work out on the decks while kids can play at the playground. At šnight, guests can watch performances or up their game by betting on bingo games.
Comfy Rooms
Surprisingly, the smallest rooms on the Genting Dream areĀ not as small as many of us would expectĀ (imagine Jackās room on the Titanic) from a cruise ship. They are comfortable enough for you to move around and stretch out and Ā can accommodate up to 4 guests at a time. Ā Plus, each room on the cruise comes with aĀ private toilet and shower!
There are alsoĀ light refreshments Ā in the form of sachets like ācoffee and šµtea, just in case you are too lazy to go out for a drink. Ā 2 bottles of mineral water Ā are also provided and will be replenished each day for free (we just love the word āfreeā donāt we?)Ā
On top of that, the Ā pillows and blanketsĀ will give you a hard time š“waking up. They areĀ very comfy,Ā and if you have stayed in any of the Genting Group hotels before, youāll know. The same pillows and beddings are also used in the Genting Dream.
Cashless Everywhere!
Some of the services, activities and facilities on the Genting Dream are not included in your cruise fee, and you'll have to pay on the cruise ship itself. One good thing is that you canĀ pay withoutĀ šµ cash! Ā All you need is a card, and you can have access to all facilities on the Genting Dream! This card is printed with your name and acts as your ID card.
Youāll have to carry it with you all the time (except when in your room) so that you can Ā tap to access the services, activities and facilities on the cruise ship.Ā You can keep track of how much youāve spent on the šŗsmall tv in the room and then pay with your credit/debit card by scanning the QR code provided. Alternatively, you can make your payment at the reception on the 6th floor, but it is pretty obvious which is more convenient.
Halal Certified Food
Genting Dream is the first in the world to beĀ OIC/SMIIC standardĀ š§ halal-friendly certified cruise. Ā The Lido provides anĀ extensive range of international cuisines,Ā and all of them are halal. You can enjoy everything served here as much as you want in a single meal period, for free! This buffet spread alsoĀ has a vegetarian sectionĀ for all the plant eaters to enjoy.
Never-Ending Eating
One thing about eating all these Ā free meals on Genting Dream Ā is that you can only eat at 1 restaurant per meal period. So letās say you ate at The Lido for lunch, you canāt eat at another free-to-eat restaurant for lunch (unless you pay, of course). Youāll have to wait until itās dinner time for that.
If you get hungry in between the main meals but donāt want to pay to eat at the specialty restaurants, the Ā Lido Outdoor Snack CornerĀ is such a lifesaver! It is aĀ 24-hour free-flow station with snacksĀ like samosa, šfrench fries, sausage and fried bee hoon! There are even drinks like šµtea, ācoffee and š§juices, in case you want to sip on something other than the mineral water in your room.
Of course, not to forget theĀ non-halal restaurantsĀ for all theĀ haram eaters Ā non-muslims. Free-to-eat meals can be found at theĀ Dream Dining. Ā The Dream Dining Room(upper) is dedicated to serving Chinese set meals, whereas the Dream Dining (lower) serves semi-buffet western meals.
Pro-Tip: Ā Come and queue early to get the sea view table! It is open 10 mins earlier than the allocated time.
Moving Casino on The Sea
Genting Dream is literally a moving š²casino on the sea! If you are aĀ kaki judi, Ā you are welcome toĀ test your fortuneĀ with some games of bingo, pull some š°slot machines or play some šmahjong. As you are not spending any šøphysical money,Ā make sure to spend your money wisely and donāt get too greedy!
Family-Friendly Pool & Water Slides
On a hot šsunny day, you can swim in the pool to cool off. There areĀ shallow pool areas where Ā š§š¦ kids can have a fun time Ā š¦splashing at each other too! For the š±āāļøš±āāļøyoung uns who prefer something more extreme than mere swimming and dipping in the pool, you guys can try out theĀ water slides. Ā There are Ā 6 water slidesĀ with different levels of extremity on the cruise depending on howĀ adventurous Ā you are.Ā
On the other hand, the š§ elderly can relax in the jacuzzi Ā while watching the young people playing at the pool. Are these free? Yes! On Genting Dream, there are 4 jacuzzis around the main pool on Deck 16 MID and 2 jacuzzis at Zouk Beach Club on Deck 17 AFT.Ā
However, just like any other outdoor activities on the Genting Dream, the Ā pool and water slides are subject to Ā ā weather changes. Ā So if you are unable to enjoy these activities, read on to find out what other things you can do on this cruise.
Happy Kids Happy Parents
Besides the shallow pool area, kids can also spend time bouncing here and there at the bouncy playground on Genting Dream.Ā Kids the age of 2 to 12 can get themselves busy at the Little Dreamers Club.Ā There are lots of toys for š§kids to play with while parents can enjoy the beautiful sea view. This place is free but only for the first 2 hours. Are your kids able to resist the temptation of staying within 2 hours?
Keep-Fit Journey Sailing Smooth
There are Ā lots of activities here to help you keep Ā šŖfit and healthyĀ while on the Genting Dream cruise. You can pay for professional fitness classes like pilates, HIIT (step), suspension training, etc or get active for free with activities like jogging (there is a jogging track around the cruise), ā³mini golf, š§āāļørock climbing (wall) and many more. Again, like any otherĀ outdoor activities, some of them are subject to weather changes.
Pro-Tip:Ā Make sure to check the itinerary to see what programs are available for the day.
Endless Activities Throughout The Day
If you are not a very active person and would like to join some less strenuous activities on the cruise, there is anĀ arcadeĀ as well asĀ Nintendo Switch games, workshops, family show timeĀ and more. Remember to check the itinerary for the time slot of your desired activities and register in advance.
Spend a Few Hours on The Land
Come on! You are not Davy Jones! Of course, you canĀ enjoy beautiful sights and eat good food outside of the sea. Ā It all depends on which tour you book. The cruise ship willĀ dock at the designated jetty, Ā and off you go! You areĀ free to explore the towns,Ā as long as you return within the given ātime. If not, weāre afraid that youāll have to say šbye-bye to the Genting Dream.
If you plan to explore a town that is not in the country you came from, youāll have toĀ bring along your passportĀ and go through the šcustom security check before you can leave the š¢cruise.
At night, you can head to theĀ Zouk Beach Club Ā and enjoy the iconic Zoukās Foam Party! You can šŗ dance crazily to the funky music in a pool of foam.Ā There will also be ice cream and drinks for everyone to enjoy. Make sure to register in advance.
The Night is Still Early
Why sleep when there are so many activities that can keep you awake on the cruise? Besides the Zouk Beach Club, there are also šdance lessons, š¤karaoke, š³ten-pin bowling, live shows and many more. If you want to just sit around and relax, there is an outdoor cinema on deck 17 AFT, and itās free!
If you want to up the game to make it more haram, you can head to one of the m any bars and loungesĀ and order your favourite š¹cocktail or šŗbeer. Not only that, if you are someone who has an alcohol reservoir in the stomach, you might want to consider taking one of theĀ bottomless beverage packages.
Shop Til You Drop
There areĀ many shops on Genting DreamĀ offering high-end fashion and quality food & supplements from overseas.Ā Look out for discounts on goods on your itinerary.Ā Youāll not want to miss out on the good deals and value buys.
Who says you canāt be out in the sea during the monsoon season? Genting Dream is one of your best options to do so. The cruise is so huge thatĀ you wonāt feel muchĀ š¤¢ turbulence. Ā In fact, many people reportedly felt no difference with being on land. We hope that theseĀ 14 reasons you should board on the Genting Dream Ā are enough to make you want to jump on the cruise right away!

Melaka expected to receive 200,000 international tourists via Genting Dream Cruise
- 20-08- 2024 02:57 PM
MELAKA: Melaka is expected to receive about 200,000 international tourists through 52 Genting Dream Cruise voyages involving the Singapore-Melaka route starting in November.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said Resort World Cruises, which operates the luxury cruise ship, will introduce the ā2 Night Cruisesā package by making Melaka their new stopover destination.
āThe presence of Genting Dreams Cruise in Melaka with this 2 Night Cruises package is an excellent opportunity to promote Melaka as an international tourist destination.
āDuring the 12 hours of docking in Melaka, I believe these visitors have plenty of time to enjoy the beauty of heritage, culture, food and shopping experiences that are readily offered in Melaka,ā he said at a press conference at his office in Seri Negeri here today.
Also present were Tourism, Heritage, Arts and Culture Exco Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman and RW Cruises Pte Ltd president Michael Goh.
He said the Melaka tourism sector showed encouraging development with the number of tourists recorded until July 2024 reaching 8,714,386 people, an increase of 84.55 per cent compared to the same period in 2023.
He said the increase in the number of tourists reflected the confidence and variety of tourism products offered in Melaka as a preferred tourist destination.

I think you should be aware of the limitations at your call center. when I called to get my medallions the person spoke English very poorly and was most difficult to understand. Two and on half hours to give my info to him. Today I received my medallions and my husbandās is correct and mine isnāt. Now Iām being told to correct this on the ship which means waiting in line for the change. Today is Friday and we are leaving very early next Thursday. Why canāt the new one be overnighted?
