Fujikura launches new Pro 2.0 and Pro 2.0 Tour Spec shafts
Fujikura has announced the launch of the second generation of its Pro series shafts: the Pro 2.0.
The first iteration of the Pro shafts were designed with a soft handle section to aid in loading. The Pro 2.0 presents an even more effective loading zone, according to the company, which also says torsional stiffness is 14 percent greater in the 2.0.
“Like all of our shafts, the Pro 2.0 has been designed utilizing enso, a 3D motion-capture technology that no one else in the shaft industry has,” said Alex Dee, Vice President at Fujikura Composites America. “This technology and advanced data analytics has allowed us to crack the code on how club performance and ball flight are affected by shaft characteristics and swing type. When we compared to the original Pro, we saw the 2.0 was significantly easier to swing, had tighter shot dispersion, and lower spin to deliver the club head with more power, control and distance. We were thrilled with the result.”
The Pro 2.0 is painted “Destroyer Grey” with a metallic blue design in line with the original Pro shaft. The Tour Spec model is painted “Tour Spec White.”
The shafts will be available in weight ranges from 57 to 87 grams (5, 6, 7, 8) and in flexes starting at R2 up to X. $225 MSRP; $250 for the Tour Spec model. Hybrid option available for $140.
Available at over 600 qualified Fujikura charter dealers beginning February 1. Full specs at Fujikura.com .

If these shafts are 100 grams…I’ll eat my shorts. Nobody uses a 100 gram shaft in a driver, Kurt.
Kurt is Correct
Jan 21, 2018 at 12:21 pm
100 gram driver shafts were common in the 1990s and were branded as “tour” shafts. The lightweight shafts were for recreational golfers who bought the lie that lighter is faster. So start eating your shorts because stock graphite shafts are not in tour pro drivers… believe it.
Jan 23, 2018 at 9:27 am
You are wrong, Kurtis.
Jan 20, 2018 at 11:53 am
I wouldn’t be surprised if the tour edition shafts were made over 100 grams specially for the high speed hard hitting pros… and branded as 85 grams. The problem with graphite shafts is their floppy soggy erratic tip sections that don’t recover fast enough for the whipsnap action through impact. Epoxy is a plastic and doesn’t have the same dynamic properties as steel. Gearheads are sold on “light weight” for a faster swing and they believe it. Gullibility!
Jan 20, 2018 at 12:04 pm
Just spotted this Aerotech Steelfiber ad in the sidebar, which proves my point about steel shafts: https://aerotechgolfshafts.com/ The steel fibers give the shafts the tip stability when flexing in final release…. when the shaft is twisting and drooping. No wonder the tour pros are playing these shafts; they have steel characteristics and a graphite supporting tube …. 😀
Jan 21, 2018 at 12:25 pm
Thank you Kurt. You are correct about the instability of all graphite shaft tip sections. Gearhead hackers only love the pretty graphics on their floppy soggy shafts because their swing speeds are so loooow … lol

Wednesday, may 9, 2018, shaft review – fujikura pro 2.0.
For the better part of the last year and a half or so, the Fujikura story has been primarily ATMOS driven. With 3…now 4 distinct TOUR SPEC models, ATMOS routinely accounts for more than 30 of the driver shafts in play each week on PGA Tour. That’s impressive given that trends - even on tour - favor the latest and presumably greatest.
With ATMOS maintaining and even gaining steam, Fujikura has recently released PRO 2.0, which as its name should make plenty obvious, is the second generation of Fujikura’s PRO series.
The original PRO, in one form or another, found its way into OEM lineups, got plenty of play on tour and sold well in the aftermarket. PRO was and remains a good design, but armed with insights gleaned from its proprietary ENSO system , Fujikura felt it could build on the PRO platform and make it even better.
“Easy Loading”
While we’re accustomed to shaft manufacturers speaking in terms of launch and spin, the primary performance characteristic of PRO is increased shaft load. Using ENSO, Fujikura has determined that about 3.5 inches of load at the point of maximum deflection (generally in transition) is ideal. Most amateurs, especially those with swing speeds in the 70-MPH range, produce only about 1.6-2.2 inches of deflection.
To help get your 1.6 closer to 3.5, PRO and now PRO 2.0 is designed with a softer, easier loading handle to help golfers create and store more energy and produce greater clubhead speed.
Described in general terms, PRO 2.0 has a soft handle with stiff middle and tip sections. 2.0. It uses the same materials as the original but for 2.0 the company has softened and extended the loading zone. Mid and Tip sections are described as stiff and the torque has been lowered to produce greater stability.
The TOUR SPEC version is appreciably stiffer to flex (see below), and while still described as a soft handle offering, it’s more suitable to harder, more aggressive swingers.
While both PRO and PRO 2.0 are classified as LOW/MID offerings within the Cool Clubs S3 system, according to Fujikura, the 2.0 can be expected to produce a bit less spin than the original with the TOUR SPEC offering even lower spin.
A secondary selling point for PRO 2.0 that not get much attention is that its swing weight is a little lighter. We’re not necessarily talking about counter-balancing, but the distribution of weight gives fitters and DIYers more flexibility to move weight around the head without much risk of the club feeling heavy.
Fujikura describes the PRO 2.0 shaft as offering effortless power , and what that really means is golfers don’t have to work as hard to load the shaft. While that can mean more speed (head and ball), there’s also an element of fatigue reduction in play. When you’re getting into holes, 16, 17, 18, and starting to feel a little tired, easy loading means you’re less likely to find yourself fighting the shaft in the home stretch.
FUJIKURA PRO 2.0: The Cool Clubs S3 Comparison
"S3 Technologies utilizes the most advanced shaft testing technology in the industry. The Shaft Simulation System (S3), which was developed in 2013, is a fully-automated, all-in-one shaft profiling machine. In a matter of minutes, the S3 determines the following shaft specs: (Straightness, Consistency Profile, EI Profile, CPM Analysis and Torque. While some of the aforementioned specs can be obtained from shaft manufacturers, a lack of industry standards prevents that data from being used for accurate apples-to-apples comparisons. S3 Technologies , solves this challenge by testing all of our production in-house using the S3. This gives S3 Technologies a unique and in-depth understanding of the quality and performance of the industry’s shafts."
Not only does S3 give us standardized quantitative information about the shaft(s) being reviewed, the data we share will provide you with a much better sense of how those shafts compare with similarly spec’d offerings on the market today.
We've included comparisons of both the PRO 2.0 and PRO 2.0 Tour Spec in our charts, as well as S3 data for the original Fujikura PRO Shafts.
FUJIKURA PRO 2.0 Launch Characteristics
In the 60-gram range, both the PRO 2.0 and the PRO 2.0 shafts are classified as LOW/MID launch within the Cool Clubs S3 Database . S3 measurements suggest that both models should launch slightly higher than the previous model.
FUJIKURA PRO 2.0 ZONE EI
The following chart compares the stiffness of the PRO 2.0 to the original in the butt, mid, and tip sections. Measurements are based on the stiff flex versions in the 60-70g range.
Because each shaft manufacturer defines zones a bit differently, it's not unusual for S3 measurements to deviate from OEM descriptions. In this case, we see the softer handle section described by Fujikura, however, the mid and tip zones (as defined in S3) of the 2.0 are also slightly softer than the original. The frequency measurements (not shown), suggest that, at equivalent weight and flex, the previous version is approximately 1/2 flex stiffer than the 2.0.
FUJIKURA PRO 2.0 BALANCE POINT
The following chart compares the balance point of the PRO 2.0 to the original. Measurements are based on the stiff flex versions in the 60-70g range.
The S3 data suggests that the balance point in the standard model has been raised slightly, while the change is much more pronounced in the Tour Spec model.
As you may recall from our Golf Geeks Story on Shaft Performance , a higher balance point allows for more head weight without drastically impacting the swingweight. For golfers seeking more distance (admittedly often at the expense of accuracy), this allows drivers to be built to longer playing lengths.
FUJIKURA PRO 2.0 Swing Speed Recommendations
The chart below provides swing speed recommendations for the entire PRO 2.0 and PRO 2.0 Tour Spec lineup.
As we noted previously, the new models are approximately 1/2 flex stiffer than the previous model. Also note that the Tour Spec model is nearly half a flex stiffer than the standard model. This is reflected in the recommendation chart where, for example, the PRO 2.0 TS 6 (stiff) can be expected to fit someone who swings from just over 100 MPH to just under 120 MPH, while the standard model in stiff flex is better suited for someone who swings just over 90 to just under 110 MPH.
These recommendations are based on the full range of Cool Clubs ' building and fitting capabilities, including factors such as tipping and build length which can cause a shaft to play either softer or stiffer.
To simplify things a bit, you may wish to narrow these ranges. The sweet spot from a fitting perspective begins 25% from the slow end of the range. As a general rule, players with faster tempos, particularly in transition may fit into a stiffer flex, while smoother swingers often fit into a softer flex.

Advice from the Cool Clubs Fitting Team
The design of Fujikura's new Pro 2.0 transfers energy very smoothly and efficiently in the loading zone creating the potential for more clubhead speed at impact. At the same time, they have increased the torsional stiffness slightly for a more controlled shot, tighter dispersion, and lower spin rate.
The Pro Series 2.0 shaft is offered in 3 different weight classes: 50, 60, and 70, along with 60, 70, and 80 for the Pro 2.0 Tour Spec. Flexes range from R2 to X in the Pro 2.0 and S and X in the Tour Spec. We will focus on the 60 gram S flex models.
For players with swing speeds between 95 and 105 mph with a moderate tempo, the Pro 2.0 6S shaft will work well. Players with swing speeds between 105 and 115 with a more aggressive tempo the Pro 2.0 Tour Spec 6S will work well.
Relative to similar shafts on the market in the neutral to mid launching category, the Pro Series 2.0 will launch marginally higher. Relative to the original Pro Series shafts, the butt section is slightly softer (feel), the midsection is slightly stiffer with a very similar tip section. Overall, this results in a slightly higher launch angle, more boring ball flight, and very consistent shots.
Ideal for golfers of all skill levels, the lower loading section can help return that club head to a square position at impact.
Information is based on test results of the 6S flex Pro 2.0 and Pro 2.0 TS shafts from Cool Club’s S3 Shaft Explorer with over 3200+ shaft profiles for comparison.
Similar Shafts - Pro 2.0 (6-S)
- A little heavier and a little softer, Mid launch (vs Mid/Low)
- A little lighter, ~1/2 flex stiffer, stiffer butt section
- Same launch profile & mid and tip region EI
Similar Shafts: Fuji Pro Tour Spec 2.0 6-S
- Slightly higher launch (Mid/Low to Mid)
- Similar in most regards, except for a softer butt section
Retail price for the Fujikura PRO 2.0 and Fujikura PRO 2.0 Tour Spec is $250. For more information visit FujikuraGolf.com .

REVIEW: Fujikura 2.0 Pro Shaft
Since there was an original version, I wanted to see how it compares to the upgraded model. The technical specs show the 62 Green is the closest shaft to compare against the New Pro 2.0
Fujikura Pro 2.0 6S (stiff)
- Spin: 2501 rpms
- Launch Angle: 13.4*
- Club Head Speed: 101.0 mph
- Ball Speed: 141.6 mph
- Total Distance: 260 yds
- Carry Distance: 240 yds
Fujikura Pro Green 62g (stiff)
- Spin: 1957 rpm’s
- Launch Angle: 12.6*
- Club Head Speed: 99.7 mph
- Ball Speed: 139.1 mph
- Total Distance: 257 yds
- Carry Distance: 234 yds
I was impressed that the Fujikura 2.0 Pro was able to live up to its billing. The biggest factor is that the 2.0 shaft transfers more energy into the ball. Sometimes we talk about cutting spin or changing launch angle, but Fujikura increased distance by transferring more of the stored energy in the shaft into the ball. Less energy loss and tighter dispersion means longer consistent drives. Give the Fujikura 2.0 Pro a second look.

Fujikura Pro Shaft Review
- on July 18, 2014
50 Words or Less
The Fujikura Pro shaft has Fujikura’s trademark stability with smooth feel and a medium kick.
Introduction
Earlier this year, pictures of a new Fujikura shaft started popping up across the internet. The gear heads loved the look and the lack of hard information only drove interest higher. Finally it was announced that Fujikura would be releasing a new Pro Series shaft. In this review, we take a look at the Pro Series and how it stacks up to the rest of Fujikura’s line up.
The Fujikura Pro has a feel that most golfers will really like. It has a medium kick in the mid-tip section and a smooth load . This is offered without compromising the stability of the tip section.
To me, the Pro fits perfectly between the other current Fujikura shafts, the Fuel and the Speeder. All of these shafts have great stability; the difference is in how smooth they are and how much kick they have. The Speeder has the most kick, the Fuel has the least. The Pro hits that “just right” middle ground.
I can’t remember a shaft that has generated as many texts and emails for its look as the Fujikura Pro . My friends and many readers are absolutely over the moon for the industrial-sized, positive/negative branding on the upper portion of the shaft. While I wasn’t as enamored with the look from the pictures, having the shaft in hand has changed my mind. The way that the blue-on-black logo blends into the black-on-blue is very sharp, and at address there’s no distraction at all.
Performance
Having gamed Fujikura shafts in my driver for quite a while, it was no surprise to me that the Fujikura Pro performed very well. As you can see, the numbers that it produced in my SLDR driver are very nearly ideal with high launch and low spin. Though the shaft has a smooth feel and good kick, it was still quite accurate as well.
The main thing you’ll notice in comparing the Pro Series to the Pro Series Tour Spec (which I’ll review separately at a later time) is that I was able to produce better club head speed and ball speed with the Tour Spec version of this shaft. This is NOT an indication that the Tour Spec is a better/longer/fast shaft. What it speaks to is that I found the Tour Spec to be a more natural fit for my tempo, and I had a more “in sync” feeling with that shaft. I could very happily game either, but on the days that I collected data for this review, the Tour Spec was the one I fell into a rhythm with more easily. As always, I highly recommend that you see a qualified club fitter to find the right shaft for you.
The Fujikura Pro is a fantastic addition to the Fujikura line up, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes their most popular shaft. It offers great stability and performance without sacrificing fee, all at an affordable price.

So, Pro 53 regular or Fuel 50 regular? 90-95 mph swing speed.
I’d say Fuel, Bill would say Pro, and we’d both give you the stock (and correct) answer: get fit. :)
Let the record show, I’m a big fan of the Fuel as well. It’s currently the top contender in a Titleist 915 driver for me (not going to lie, sort of surprised). The Pro was great in my Cobra Bio Cell+ though. Couldn’t miss with it.
How would you compare the pro to the matrix red tie? Looking for something potentially lower spinning, but with similar smooth kick and medium launch (also considering Kiyoshi white). Thanks
I think the three you mentioned all deserve to be in the conversation. To me, the Matrix is the smoothest, the Oban is the firmest, and the Pro is in the middle, but that might be splitting hairs.
For a bio cell +, by the way, which apparently bill thought was a great pairing?
So I purchased a Mizuno JPX 850 with the Motore stiff shaft. Shaft says tour issue. Is it not stock then? It is just a little whippy but do not want xstiff because im scared to hard and lose distance. Im a 105-108. Is this in stiff a little more solid.
Without seeing it, I couldn’t say if the shaft you have is stock or not. The stock shaft is a made for version of the Fujikura Motore Speeder.
theres no proper fitter in my country, with a 95mph ss high spin player, should I try the evolution speeder 569 or the pro53?
In my testing, I found the Speeder Evolution shafts to be – in general – somewhat lower spinning than the Pro series. If you’re a high spin player, I would favor the lower spinning option.
I have the Oban Devotion in my driver today. Regular shaft. Smooth load. 98-101 mph. How would the Pro 60 compare?
I’ve never tested them head-to-head, so I can’t say.
Son just got the new M1 Driver with options of Fujikuria Pro 60 or Kuro Kage 60, both in stiff. His swing speed is 106, and with both distance was 280ish. What’s the major difference in these two shafts?he went with Kuro Kage 60S…
The Fuji Pro is lighter and, according to specs, higher launching/spinning.
Have R15 driver with Speeder 57 evolution shaft purchasing M1 driver with Pro 60 regular flex If I put Speeder evolution shaft in M1 driver what would be the differences in ball flight between the 2 shafts.
There’s no way to know other than swapping the shafts and testing them. Let us know what you find.
What’s the difference between the Fujikura Atmos Orange 5 Shaft vs Fujikura Pro 70 shaft in a Taylormade M6 driver 10.5 degrees?
Approximately 20 grams and a totally different bend profile.
Hi Matt, I notice that there is a Fujikura Pro for hybrid, with the same color for 2016 and also a Speeder Pro for hybrid.
Do they maintain the same qualities as the shafts for drivers?
I like the speeder evol. 757 and speeder 757 and I am looking for the same feel to reshaft my Titleist hybrids.
Any suggestions?
Best regards,
We haven’t done enough testing with the hybrid versions to say definitively that they’re a “match” for the driver shafts. Ultimately, the best thing to do is to get a fitting to find the best hybrid shaft for you.
Just came from a club fitting from a local club fitter. Been in business for 25 years. Getting a Air Force 1 driver, Ballista 3W and 5W, 4 hybrid. FBS 2.0 irons 5I through Lob wedge. Fukishira graphite shafts. All this for $830. The guy builds the clubs himself and order the components. Any thoughts on this? 12 clubs total. That’s about $69 per club; custom fitted.
If the clubs performed well for you in the fitting, it sounds great.
Some confusion about the stock shares TaylorMade offers on the M2. I am told (by TaylorMade) that the M2 can be purchased with a Pro 60″regular” shaft. Is there such a thing. I see mostly pro 60s? I am a high ball hitter with a swing speed of around 110. Play in florida, and high ball flight is not good, given the windy conditions. Should I consider the pro 50, or would you recommend another altogether.
There are always questions about the “real-ness” of stock shafts. I don’t have any information one way or the other about this particular situation.
As to whether or not it will work best for you, only a fitting can determine that.
Hi there, just bought the M2 I used to have a titleist 913 d2 with a dimana stiff shaft my swing speed varies from 92mph to 98mph I have a Fujikura Pro 60 stiff shaft which I feel is very stiff compared to the Dimana stiff, are there different kick points in both? i always use a stiff shaft with my driver but am finding the pro 60 stiffer than normal, I normally hit the ball high so am looking for something mid height with a bit of feel. Any suggestions?
Which Diamana have you used in the past? There are a variety of kick points within the Diamana family.
As for picking a shaft, we always recommend a fitting. Anyone trying to sell you on a shortcut is doing you a disservice.
How would you compare with the Fujikura rombax 65 S?
I haven’t tested it against the Rombax, so I can’t make any comparisons.
Matt for a slower swing speed of 80 82 is this shaft a good option on the M1? Thanks Scott W
It will be a good option for some 80-82 swingers, but not others. You need a fitting to know for sure.
Good , no very good shaft for a 69 year old. It has allowed me to hit shorter irons into some greens! A plus.
I have TM M2 driver with the Fujikura pro 60 M flex shaft. Would you happen to know where kick point or flex point is?
I don’t have that information at hand.

Fujikura Pro 2.0 Review: The Golf Shaft That Could Up Your Game
Hey, ever find yourself stuck in the sand trap, cursing at your golf club like it’s personally offended you? Yeah, we’ve all been there. You know that sinking feeling when your swing doesn’t quite connect and your ball ends up who-knows-where?
Sure, sometimes it’s just bad form or a windy day. But what if I told you there’s a golf shaft out there designed to help you reach your true golfing potential? Yep, let’s dive into the Fujikura Pro 2.0 , a performance shaft that’s been turning heads.
The Hype Around the Shaft
First things first, this isn’t just another hollow tube you attach to your clubhead. Nah, this baby is packed with high-end materials aimed to enhance your game. It’s got this neat feature called the loading zone , right?
That helps transfer energy super smoothly, giving you a chance to ramp up that clubhead speed . Because let’s be real, who doesn’t want to smash that ball a little bit harder?
Comparing Apples to Apples—or Shafts to Shafts
You might be thinking, “But what about the original Fujikura Pro?” Great question, Sherlock! The Pro 2.0 is like the upgraded version of your favorite action movie; think more explosions, less chit-chat.
It’s easier to swing, more precise, and comes with a lower spin rate , which basically means you won’t look like you’re trying to hit a curveball in baseball. And for you numbers folks out there, an independent review shows a spin rate of 2501 rpms and a launch angle of 13.4 degrees. Yeah, science!
Getting Into the Nitty-Gritty
Let’s talk specs. I know, I know—specs can be boring, but bear with me. This shaft has a ball speed of 141.6 mph, a total distance of 260 yards, and a carry distance of 245 yards. You read that right, it’s not a typo!
And if that ATMOS shaft felt like holding onto a block of wood, you’ll be pleased to know that the Pro 2.0 has a softer handle. You’re practically caressing the thing.
So, Should You Buy It?
Look, if you’re a casual golfer who gets out maybe once a year for the company picnic, this might be overkill. But if you’re someone who’s already investing time and effort into your game, then this performance shaft might be your new best friend. And yes, you can name it.
To Sum It Up
- If you want to increase clubhead speed , this is for you.
- If you care about spin rate and launch angle , this is for you.
- If you’re aiming to smash your personal best in distance and carry distance , yup, you guessed it, this is for you.
So, there you have it, my two cents on the Fujikura Pro 2.0 . Go ahead, take that swing from ‘meh’ to ‘WOW’. Just don’t forget to shout, “Fore!” Okay? Cool.

70MPH(時速マイル)は31.3m/s(秒速メートル)、同様に80MPH(35.8m/s) 、90MPH(40.2m/s) 、100MPH(44.7m/s) 、
110MPH(49.2m/s) 、120MPH(53.6m/s) 、130MPH(58.1m/s) 、140MPH(62.6m/s) 、150MPH(67.0m/s)。
Cool Clubs
VTS Silver 6-S

We know how well the Rapsodo MLM2Pro can help golfers with training, video, and overall numbers, but how functional and useful are these new features? Can they open up this launch monitor's value to more golfers for more uses?
To give you an idea of some of the new features that have been released since launch, here is a brief rundown:
R-Cloud: Now you can access all your sessions, recordings, and shots anywhere you have internet access. Want to review swings on your computer and break down your swing? Now you can, and you are not limited to only viewing them on the app.
R-Speed: Are you working on gaining swing speed? R-Speed will record your swings, swing speed, and sessions in conjunction with Superspeed, The Stack, and Rypstick to give you accurate results on your swing speed training. Don’t have one of those? Don’t worry, you can work on speed training just using the Rapsodo App and MLM2Pro.
Range: Practice on a range and get more lifelike feedback even while hitting into a net.
Target Range: Want to work on specific targets? Target Range gives you various targets to aim at in a full virtual practice facility. Hitting targets doesn’t just mean greens; there are fairways and layup options, offering over 100 different targets to choose from.
These are just a few of the new features that have been added, and we need to review them.
Please welcome and congratulate our testers!

Introduction
Hello again everyone, my name is Evan, and I am so unbelievably excited to have the opportunity to test the Rapsodo MLM 2 Pro. Thank you so much Rapsodo and MGS for making the opportunity available and for selecting me to be a tester. It is a responsibility that I do not take lightly and hope that everyone enjoys the testing to come and that I can help answer all your questions.
My golf career started at 12 with my dad progressing from par 3 course before a smaller executive course and then finally to a full course. I enjoy public golf and am forever grateful to the local course that charged $10 for me to play anytime which made it possible for my dad and I to play every weekend. I was lucky enough to join my high school golf team for a couple years as the only real competitive golf I have played, until this year when I decided to enter my state AM qualifier. It was revealing to get back into competitive golf and something I think I might try again next year.
What this really highlighted for me was the need to try and practice and play more. Being a father of 3 young kids and working does not exactly leave a lot of time available. Enter the MLM 2 Pro and the ability to test what I can get out of more at home practice setup. This is the number one thing I am looking to test. How can having full ball flight simulation when hitting into my home net help me have a better feel when I head to the course. Can it help elevate that weekly round and ultimately keep my swing in a better place? Will all the data listed below help?
I am also excited to test some of the new features such as the R-speed. As a Stack user I am looking forward to seeing how the Rapsodo does and compares to my PRGR that I have used for speed training currently.
Target practice on the Rapsodo range will be a critical piece to improving iron and wedge play, something Shot Scope says I can really work on. With that I also hope to test building out a full wedge matrix with the MLM 2 Pro. I have been working on this but its hard without an accurate measuring device at home.
I also look forward to testing the course simulation as a great way to vary up the practice and hit different shots and distances. I know I can fall into hitting the same couple clubs into the net. There is just so much that this system can do that there will be a lot to test. Including hopefully some side by side comparisons with a GC Quad to test that accuracy.
Lets get this test going and hitting a lot of shots into this set up!
First Impressions
So, the big day finally arrived, delivery day! Everyone talks about the longest wait being from the time the order is put in to when the product finally arrives at your door. In a review like this I feel the longest wait is between the product arriving and needing to wait to open it so you can figure out your unboxing plan for a review. Coming back from vacation made this extra-long as I was not able to dive in until Monday as we got our lives back in order and let me tell you that felt like much more than just a couple days. So finally, here we are.
The box is solidly built and contains everything that was expected in a nice clean package. The carrying case looks great and feels well built. Then we open the case to find the masterpiece.
There it is the moment I have been waiting for. Some shots to show off what it looks like.
And yes, in case anyone was wondering after looking at those photos the unit fits well in that MGS headcover.
Also, the latest addition to our family was curious and wanted to help me set the unit up.
Once the unit was out, it felt solid and well built in the hand. Setting up the stand was easy with one side that holds up a phone the other a tablet. One minor update I would make is to add a bit of rubber to these holders as my iPhone is smaller and feels like it might want to slide out pretty easy.
I started getting things set up with an all-important test for any gear junky, the Box to Balls test, that is how long after I open the box can I be using the item to hit balls. This is very quick for golf clubs, but how about the MLM2Pro?
Well to be sure it takes a bit of time.
1. First, you need to download the MLM2Pro app
2. Either Log-in or set up an account
3. Then you need to connect to the device, with two options local network connection and direct Wi-Fi (quick note if you have bad cell service go with local network connection)
4. Then you will likely need a firmware update, but to do that the battery needs to be at 70% and should be plugged in
5. After some time (a few hours at least) the firmware can be updated and installed
6. Finally, you can start to hit balls
Needless to say, this took some time, and I started in the evening, so I was not able to use it until the next day. I also ran into a few issues as my unit kept saying it needed the firmware update but when I went to the device settings it said the firmware was up to date. I think this comes down to I have bad service at my house, and I was not on the local network connection which keeps my phone on the Wi-Fi connection, so it was not seeing a firmware update coming through on the app for a bit.
Once I finally got that sorted out things have been smooth sailing and ready to roll. I decided to fire up the playing a course so I can jump right into the fun stuff. The graphics are what I expected but it was fun to have the variation on what to hit and of course have the data that comes with being able to hit balls with tracked spin. The view shows a bit what the course simulation looks like.
I have outlined a lot of what I want to test in a previous post, but I will add it again here to help everyone see what is claimed and where I am going with this test. More to come on these topics in the near future!

Hello MGS! Let's just say I am super excited to be a part of this test (my wife thinks I'm slightly crazy to be so excited about a "camera" (her words...she just doesn't understand!).
I'm from Yorktown, VA...right around the corner from MGS Headquarters (which I just recently found out). Play to an 11 handicap, but feel I am leaving shots out there out the course.
I recently started using a Mevo and I like it, don't love it...quickly realized it would be limited in providing the information needed to see improvements. I hadn't really been too concerned with the numbers, but MGS has changed me!
Getting set-up to put the Rapsodo through the paces at home, on the range and on the course!
R-Cloud : ability to review prior sessions on the app and the computer...YES!
R-Speed : feel like "speed training" is the new "thing" and had considered it for a while, but never took the plunge...but for the sake of the test, I am in! Got a SuperSpeed set and will be utilizing it for the test...what could go wrong?
Range/Target Range : ok, this is where I feel like I can benefit...typically hit the range before rounds and have good range sessions that don't translate to the course. Generally wasn't concerned with a certain distance on the range, which I think is part of the problem...looking forward to using this to improve distance control.
With work and kids, getting to a range and committing to practice can be tough, but having the ability to work on the swing at home with real-time feedback...AMAZING!
Can't wait for the Rapsodo to arrive and get this testing started!
Unboxing/First Impressions (9 out of 10)
The Rapsodo arrived with no issues at all. A long, skinny club box is more impressive overall but this still works. Inside the package was the Rapsodo, case and a sleeve of RPT balls.
The unit is a little bigger than I expected (mainly as I was coming from a Mevo). It will take up a bit of space in the bag, but I don't have much in there anyways so I don't expect this to be a problem.
Assembly is very quick, the stand clips into the unit and you're off. The stand does serve as a phone holder, so you just have to make sure the "single" leg is facing forward (for a tablet you would flip the stand around so the “double” leg is facing forward).
Initial Set-up
Once opened, put the unit on the charger to get going. I charged mine overnight initially as it can take up to 4 hours. In the meantime, I had downloaded the app and got my log-in/password established.
After charging, the unit easily connected in the app. I had to do a firmware update which did take some time.
App was very easy to use...guided you through the steps to get set-up/connected. Got all my clubs entered into the app and now am ready to go.
Initial Use
I had some issues when I first attempted to use, but this seems to be related to my wifi more than the Rapsodo…brought it back inside and things moved better. Decided to use the direct connect mode and it was flawless!
I am questioning some of the early distances I was seeing, didn’t think I was striking the ball bad but the distance was way off for some of the clubs. Just judging this by feel since I was using a net. Will be keeping an eye on this as the test continues.

Introduction:
My name is Scott. I’m in my mid-40s and live just south of Boston with my wife and two young sons (5 and 3). I am a 15 handicap and consistently shoot in the 80s.
I am a teacher and enjoy playing all summer long and year-round as the New England weather permits, although I don’t get to play as often as I did pre-kids! I look forward to getting my boys into the game in the next few years. For now, they enjoy putting with me and attending holiday parties at the golf club.
My strengths are chipping and putting and playing around the green, from 100 yards in.
My weaknesses are driving off the tee and using long clubs out of the rough. The longer the club, the more I tend to hit an over-the-top hook.
I am a huge fan of this forum because this community is very relatable to me and I value the reviews. I love everything about the game of golf – the competitiveness, the camaraderie, and the skill and focus required to play well, but I also really enjoy following the pros and reading about the latest technology and tools of the game.
I will be testing and examining the Rapsodo MLM2Pro. I plan to use it in my backyard primarily. I have a large hitting net, and I’m excited to use it in conjunction with the Rapsodo MLM2Pro. I am really excited to see how it works in practice and how it might positively impact my game and yours. It’s a great price point. I spend a fair amount of time and money at the PGA Superstore using the hitting bays, and this might be a game changer for me in terms of practicing at home.
I’m also looking forward to using superspeed training kit system with the R speed setting!
Unboxing/Initial photos/First set up
The Rapsodo MLM2PRO came in an unassuming brown packing box. Inside, it came in a nice white box similar to an Apple product’s packaging. I was impressed by the design.
After further inspection, the box had a very nice protective case along with a set of 3 Callaway RCT balls.
The MLM2pro comes with the following: Launch monitor; Launch monitor base; charging cord; instruction manual; 3 pack of Callaway RCT balls; protective/carrying case.
The presentation is great. It’s very simple. Putting in the base is super easy, and only having one cord and only one button to press seems super easy.
I do have a Mevo. It’s going to take a little while to get used to the more substantial size of the MLM2pro compared to the much smaller Mevo:
Here is a short video of me being able to fit the MLM2pro nicely in the side pocket of my Vessel Sunday bag. It fits perfectly into either larger pocket on each side of it. Really it wasn’t an issue at all, and I consider my bag to be on the smaller side.
I wanted to wait until the MLM2pro arrived before starting the process of downloading the app and getting everything started so I could see how long it all takes.
The process went like this:
1. Download app
2. Charge MLM2pro (This was the only time-consuming part– it took over 3 hours to charge up first time – it was not ready to go out of the box).
3. Activate 1 year premium membership (required providing credit card information for future payment)
4. Firmware update
5. Put in “My clubs” data (I didn’t get too intense with this yet, but I did put in all of my clubs though just not all of their specs)
6. Establish Bluetooth connection (I only used my iPhone today and it connected right away 30 feet from my house)
7. Pick what type of session you are having, range or net, type of ball, and club.
8. I set the MLM2pro up and hit around 30 balls today before it got dark. (PW)

Any comparisons out there. Gaming a 7x TS PRO 2.0 at 44.5” and this is may be too stout for me. Prior was a pro 63 XS which was ok but my dispersion was out to lunch. Would a shorter blue 6x give me the best of both worlds? I am a high spin player with SS between 100-110 on good days.

If you went to 6x ventus blue (65g), it would feel softer for sure, especially in the handle/mid, which you may like but the weight drop may not be what you need (as mentioned by dispersion issues above.
i honestly believe the ventus red may be closest to the pro 2.0 in terms of profile and feel. The 7x (72g) may be the ticket. Slightly stiffer in the handle, but slightly softer in the tip. A little bit higher torque as well (2.7 in the pro ts, vs 3.1 in the ventus) which should “feel” a little smoother.
Also dont be afraid at looking at 7 weight classes in “stiff” flex either.

Thanks for that. The dispersion issue I think I could help by playing this at 44.5” instead of 45.5”. Ultimately I think it may be better to test these on a launch monitor before jumping in.

That very well could be as well. Have you checked swingweight? The pro 2.0 is “higher balance point” so you may need to add a little headweight to get it up to the right swingweight. A little extra headweight would soften it up just a tad too.

Ya. So my original weight for my SZ with the 63 pro shaft turned out wasnt std. it had a 3g back weight instead of 12g. Not knowing that until I messed with the weights I was planning on just adding a 17g weight and removing the 12. I now have both on there plus now a 4g front weight. Prior to adding the weight I couldn’t feel the head at all.

Those are very vague and can be misleading. The ventus blue profile might be the most disputed golfwrx thing going right now. Alot compare it to a typical blueboard profile, but many including myself, felt it was very “loose” in the butt, which isnt typical of blueboards. It reminded me of a whiteboard profile to be honest. I will say the 6x vs 7x is a different animal. The ventus red would be more along the lines of a blue profile *in my opinion*. I think the red would launch just a tad higher then the 2.0. The 7x blue would be lower, and the 6x would be pretty close. Id try them out before you make a decision though, feel is very subjective.

With the Pro 2.0 Tour Spec, I was hitting more straight and cut shots. Either shaft could easily be a gamer for me, though I preferred the shot shaping flexibility of the Tour Spec. The Fujikura Pro 2.0 is available in weights ranging from 57 grams to 77 grams and flexes from R2 (Senior) to X.
Originally introduced in 2015, the PRO Series has proven to be our most popular, playable, and easy-to-fit line of performance shafts. The PRO 2.0 is a perfect fit for a wide range of golfers due to its enhanced loading section and lower torque.
The Pro 2.0 is painted "Destroyer Grey" with a metallic blue design in line with the original Pro shaft. The Tour Spec model is painted "Tour Spec White."
We've included comparisons of both the PRO 2.0 and PRO 2.0 Tour Spec in our charts, as well as S3 data for the original Fujikura PRO Shafts. FUJIKURA PRO 2.0 Launch Characteristics. In the 60-gram range, both the PRO 2.0 and the PRO 2.0 shafts are classified as LOW/MID launch within the Cool Clubs S3 Database. S3 measurements suggest that both ...
MAy be to late for you but I have the pro 2.0 tour spec 8x. I got two shafts at the same time and went a different direction but mine played 46 installed. Was trying to figure out how I wanted to tip it or what. Surprisingly the 88 gram shaft didn't feel to heavy. Has a solid kick.
New for 2018, the PRO 2.0 features a lower loading section to increase launch, lower torque to reduce spin and a bold, modernized design to turn heads. It's ideal for golfers of all skill levels, and available in Tour Spec for more aggressive swing tempos to deliver lower ball flight and spin.
In my opinion, Fujikura has produced another Tour Spec winner with the Pro Tour Spec shaft. It hits a great middle ground between kick and stability, but has a little extra heft for the big hitters.
Sick of reading about shafts that are designed for Tour-level swing speeds? Then check out our review of the Fujikura Pro 2.0 and Pro 2.0 Tour Spec.
The main thing you'll notice in comparing the Pro Series to the Pro Series Tour Spec (which I'll review separately at a later time) is that I was able to produce better club head speed and ball speed with the Tour Spec version of this shaft.
I've seen the 2.0 used by a tour pro or two, however I'm certain the Tour AD IZ is played - PGA and LPGA - by a factor of 5 or so. I follow the WITB (What's In The Bag) pretty closely, and the Graphite Design Tour AD IZ seems very poplar, especially in FWs and hybrids.
I have played the Fuji Pro 2.0 TS 7X in the last few Titleist 3 woods, and play a Ventus Velocore in my driver...curious to see if anyone has hit the Pro 2.0 TS and Velocore Blue shafts and can list some of the differences. I am also considering a Velocore TR blue as my driver is a Velocore Black.
Just ordered the Pro 2.0 Tour spec 6 S (white) for my 917D from JD's Clubs. I have been looking at the atmos line and couldn't decide between going black or blue model. According to the Fuji website measurements the Pro 2,0 TS falls between the black & blue version with low launch / low spin.
The PRO Series is Fujikura's most popular, playable, and easy-to-fit line of performance shafts. PRO 2.0 features a more effective loading zone to store more energy in the downswing which translates to more clubhead speed. Additionally, the torsiona.

What is the difference between these two shafts? They are not the most expensive options (compared to Ventus and Evolution VII) offered by Fujikura, so I was wondering if they were more designed for fairways.
I was just fit into Fujikura Pro 2.0 Tour Spec 6X for my Driver and the 8X for my fairway woods. I was curious what the difference between Pro 2.0 Tour Spec and Ventus Black would be? What does the EI curve look like for both?
Let's talk specs. I know, I know—specs can be boring, but bear with me. This shaft has a ball speed of 141.6 mph, a total distance of 260 yards, and a carry distance of 245 yards. You read that right, it's not a typo! And if that ATMOS shaft felt like holding onto a block of wood, you'll be pleased to know that the Pro 2.0 has a softer handle.

Has anyone upgraded from the Tour Spec to a Ventus? What improvements did you notice or why did you make the change? I really want to hit the Ventus shaft, but hard to find anywhere to test it out. I got a lot of improvement in dispersion (greatly reduced the snap hooks) with the F Pro 2.0 TS but...

Our goal with 2.0 is to get the ball in the air a bit more quickly while keeping spin down (more so than ATMOS). The torque is much lower in the mid and tip on 2.0 than original PRO, so we're seeing lower spin numbers. Tour Spec PRO 2.0 is definitely a stout product with low spin though."
The 7x 2.0 pro spec is 79g which is pretty heavy for a 7 weight class shaft. If you went to a 7x ventus blue (77.5g) i think it would be just a touch more stout than the pro you have now. Definitely in the tip, but pretty similar in the handle.
