Willemstad: On the way back to the ship, take a scenic drive through Scharloo, with its historical buildings, most of which are protected monuments. Board an air-conditioned motorcoach at the pier and set out on a relaxing panoramic drive through the Otrobanda section of Willemstad.

Founded in 1707, Otrobanda is the newer section of the city, and its name translates to 'other side.' You'll see a lovely array of historic mansions as you drive past the Queen Emma Bridge -- the famous floating bridge that connects both sides of Willemstad. Traveling over another famous bridge, the Queen Juliana Bridge, is an exhilarating experience. This is the tallest bridge in the Caribbean; you'll find yourself 185 feet above sea level with expansive views of the city and harbor below.

Stop at Chobolobo -- the Dutch colonial country estate where the famous Curaçao liqueur has been distilled since 1946. It is created from the peel of the Valencia oranges planted by the Spaniards when they first arrived. The family has been producing Blue Curaçao since 1886. During a guided tour of the distillery , sample the liqueur, distilled in 100-year-old barrels, and purchase a souvenir bottle to take home.

Continue to the eastern part of the island to visit the Aloe Vera Farm to taste aloe juice . Some tempting and interesting products are available in the gift shop.

Next up is the Chichis Workshop . Chichis is a nickname for the women of Curaçao. At the workshop, local women make sculptures and paint them in charming tropical colors so that every sculpture is unique.

Your tour ends with a short drive through Punda -- the oldest part of Willemstad -- before you return to the ship.

The Chichis Gallery is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and holidays; a visit to Fort Nassau will be substituted. Named for the House of Orange-Nassau, 16th-century Fort Nassau provides a charming 360 ⁰ view over a large part of the island.

Snorkel Trip To Turtle Bay

Take a ride to one of the local beaches of Curaçao to cruise to Turtle Bay and snorkel its crystalline waters where sea turtles are frequently spotted. On the way there, the crew will describe the characteristics of Curaçao’s three most commonly seen turtles – loggerheads, hawksbills and green turtles. Although these species are endangered due to factors such as loss of nesting habitat, pollution and poaching, sea turtles are relatively abundant off some of Curaçao’s beaches. Snorkeling near one of these magnificent creatures as it gracefully swims by is an experience that you will not soon forget. The crew will offer instruction on how best to behave in the water when close to a sea turtle. The waters are also teeming with tropical fish, many of them incredibly colorful.

Snorkel And Beach Break

Snorkel the turquoise waters off Blue Bay Beach and relax however you please on this beautiful stretch of sand. You will likely see an ever-changing parade of marine life, which is just one of the reasons that this is one of Curaçao’s most popular snorkeling sites. You may spot brightly colored queen triggerfish, red-striped squirrelfish and brilliant blue tangs. Spiny lobsters are often seen hiding among the coral reefs and on occasion hawksbill turtles swim by. The biodiversity is spectacular with marine species ranging from large white-spotted eagle rays to the teeniest of sea horses. It will be easy to find a comfortable depth for snorkeling because the sea floor slopes gently from the beach. If you wish to rest while snorkeling, feel free to lounge about the beach and stroll along the shore.

Curaçao Evening Tour

Enjoy a tour through the historic section of Willemstad in the evening, when temperatures are cooler and the city lights are wonderfully radiant. First, during your scenic drive, stop at an amazing viewpoint overlooking the city near a historical fortress for some great pictures and a toast with a Blue Curaçao, a sweet liquor, made from Laraha oranges grown on the island. Then, continue with a nice and cool evening walking tour and meander along and pass a collection of colorful, Dutch-inspired homes overlooking the canals. This colonial architecture and the district’s European-style layout earned Willemstad a UNESCO World Heritage site designation. Even so, the architectural highlight may well be Fort Amsterdam as it was constructed in 1634 and a cannonball from a conflict with England is still lodged in one of the walls. You will also walk on the unique 19th-century Queen Emma pontoon bridge whose colorful arched lights shine brilliantly on the water at night. Finally, stop for a fun photo at The orange Dushi sign, which is another icon; the word means “sweet” in Papiamentu, the official language of Curaçao. For those who like to stay longer for a nice drink or dinner, you’ll have the option to be dropped off at a nice local bar and restaurant area.

Capture the moment by taking the perfect selfies in Willemstad, the charming capital city of Curacao. Your Selfie Experience will start at Shete Boka Park. Here, the waves pound against the coral rock formations and the saltwater splashes high into the air. Walk to cliff-like coves of the sea and experience the shooting sound of Shete Boka Park. The tour then goes to Hato Caves, which is the biggest and most prominent cave on the island. Once inside the cave, we will have a walking time on this natural wonder, that makes perfect backdrop to take your selfies. Hato Caves & City Center

Duration 2 3/4 hrs

Discover two highlights of Curacao, the Hato Caves and the historic city center of Willemstad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a short drive, you’ll arrive at the impressive Hato Caves. It is home to beautiful limestone formations, the famous Madonna statue and a colony of seldom seen long nose fruit bats. The variety of stalagmites and stalactites are impressive. It is fun to join the guide in recognizing animals or figures in the various stone formations. Relax on the drive back to the city, for your walking tour.

First you’ll visit the Curacao marketplace where the locals shop for food and ingredients for their home cooked meals. On the way to Fort Amsterdam, home to the Governor of Netherland Antilles, you’ll pass the beautifully colored, picture perfect merchant houses on the quay of the harbor entrance. The last part of you walk will be to cross the floating bridge that connects both sides of the city. If the bridge is open, due to ship traffic, ferries will be used instead. Your guide will escort you back to the ship, right through historic Rif Fort. This area offers upscale shopping, dining and entertainment centers and you’re able to spend time here at your leisure.
