Papikondalu is also known as Papi hills which are situated in the holy river Godavari in Andhra Pradesh. As everyone knows that the holy river Godavari was born in Nasik (Gomukh, Maharastra), there it is passing through so many states. finally, it is ending up in Andhra Pradesh. Before entering Andhra Pradesh we can see 3 mountains that look like giants trying to stop the Godavari. Nature lovers really like this place

According to our forefather's sayings, the name Papikondalu is the word taken from a Telugu word called (Papidikondlu),

because when we see the view of this holy river Godavari from the top of this Papikondlu it looks like a hairline (Thala lo Papidi)of a woman.

but according to our history (Puranam) when the great Saptharuhees bought Pathala Ganga down, the king of an evil kingdom named (Papi) stopped the flow of Ganga then once again the Saptharushees requested the king "Papi" to give the way then he gave small space to continue the flow of water that's what the reason Papikondalu are so close to each other.

Papikokndalu is a famous tourist attraction in Andhra Pradesh that is going to "extinct" shortly, due to a well-known dam namely the "Polvaram project "which is under construction. after the construction of the dam, there are about 250 small villages that will be drowned.

still, there are some villages which have no electricity, roads, water or any other communication. such places are also covered in Papi Kondalu tour,

Located on the banks of River Godavari in Andhra Pradesh, and officially known Rajamahendravaram, Rajahmundry is the biggest city of the East and the West Godavari District in the state. Touted to be one of the oldest cities in India, Rajahmundry was founded in the 19th century by the Chalukya King- Raja Raja Narendra.

Rajahmundry, also known officially as Rajamahendravaram, is a city located in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, India. This city is situated on the banks of the Godavari River. The District of Rajahmundry was created in 1823, in the Madras Presidency. It was reorganized in 1859. In the same year, it was bifurcated into Godavari and Krishna districts. After the division, Kakinada became the headquarters of East Godavari. It is now administered under the Rajahmundry revenue division. As per the 2018 Census, the place is the fourth most populous city in the state. The city is known for its Floricultural, Historical, Cultural, Agricultural, Economic, Tourism, and Industrial potential and its Heritage. This place is also well known as the Cultural Capital of Andhra Pradesh for its rich cultural practices. 1. Godavari Bridge

Spreading over 2.1 km on the River Godavari in the city of Rajahmundry, in the territory of Andhra Pradesh. The Godavari Bridge is popularly known to people as Kovvur–Rajahmundry Bridge. It is a truss bridge spanning the Godavari River in Rajahmundry, India. It is India’s third longest road-cum-rail bridge crossing that has been established over a water body. The first one is The Bogibeel Bridge which is the rail-cum-road bridge over the Brahmaputra river in the Dibrugarh district of Assam state in north-east India, and the second is Digha–Sonpur Bridge over the Ganges in Bihar. The bridge is also a significant wellspring of the travel industry as it offers pleasant views of the amazing sunset or sunrise in the skyline and converges with Godavari’s sparkling water. Known to be synonymous with the human experience and culture of the city, the scaffold has a street deck over a solitary track rail deck.

2. Dowleswaram Barrage

4. The Havelock Bridge

The Old Godavari Bridge is also popularly known to people as The Havelock Bridge. It is a decommissioned bridge that spans the Godavari River in Andhra Pradesh, India. It was commissioned in 1900. Since then, the bridge has served trains plying between Howrah and Madras. It is the earliest of three bridges that have been constructed on the Godavari River at Rajahmundry. The Godavari Arch Bridge was later constructed in order to replace the Havelock Bridge. The bridge along with the Godavari bridge and Godavari Arch Bridge is the most recognized symbol of Rajahmundry and of the state of Andhra Pradesh.

5. Sri Markandeya Swamy Temple

It is a famous temple situated on the banks of river Godavari where the rituals happen throughout the year. During Shivratri, pujas are a must for the worshippers here.
