Being on a long road trip with your family has its golden moments but when the inevitable happens and there’s an argument over who controls the music, it’s good to be prepared. The answer to that problem is to create a playlist filled with road trip songs that the whole family will love.

How to create a great road trip playlist with sing-along songs!

The window wound down, the stereo cranked up and some awesome tunes you can sing along to; perfection, right? But if you’re anything like us, your phone/iPod is a random mix of all sorts of music- including a Christmas album or 7.

That’s why a road trip playlist is so important- you don’t have to worry if the next tune will be great, you already know it will be!

  • Make sure the songs are downloaded onto your phone/ ipod. Otherwise, you’re going to use up a lot of data and/ or run the risk of being in an area with bad signal and no music!
  • Like listening to things as you drive? Check out Audible – you can get podcasts, audiobooks and more- it’s a perfect way to pass the time on a long drive.

You might be able to get 3 MONTHS FREE music at Amazon. Click HERE to take advantage

I’ll be honest- there was some…. let’s call it “discussion”… over the best travel songs to include on this list. My husband prefers classic rock for driving songs. I like songs you can sing along with in the car and songs to drive fast too (NEVER above the speed limit though… right?!)

We compromised on creating a road trip playlist with song choices from all of us, so we hope there’s something in here for you!

So, let’s get to the best road trip songs.

Wow that is a great list. You have a few I had forgotten. Very complete list of all music genre. That is the only problem I have with things like Sirrus and XM you have to select only one type. I love Pandora but as you mentioned DATA, DATA, so Ipod it is for roadtrips.

Thank you! We had a lot of fun writing it and listening to old songs 🙂 Yeah, Data is definitely something worth considering- it can get expensive quickly otherwise!

You missed out poison alive Cooper got to be on

thanks for the information

You’re welcome!

What an awesome song list. Thanks for sharing this list. take care…

You are very welcome- glad you enjoyed it. Happy Road trip!

Great lists. I made playlists on Spotify that can be accessed by anybody. Makes it easy if you have Spotify.

How do I access the playlist that you made

Rockin’ down the highway by The Doobie Brothers

Is there a way to automatically click a link or something so my Apple Music will automatically take and start playing the 150 song list

Wow. Now I have something to do while waiting for lockdown to end. I’ve never heard of some of yours! You won’t have heard of some of mine! Each to his own. I will start with Stones, Clapton, John Mayalls Bluesbreakers, Sonny Boy Williams……….Can’t stop, I’ve got to get my iPod.?

This is a really lovely list. I would also recommend Dead American Presidents’ Peaches for trips through farm country.

I miss the golden Earring with Radar love.

Can’t believe you don’t have and Go-Go’s songs listed!! I can think of a few that are awesome road trip songs !!

What song list to drive faster would not include Deep Purple – Highway Star??? Definitely put your pedal to the metal on that song.

The Ultimate Road Trip Playlist According to Travelers, Editors, and Spotify

This year has been nothing short of a whirlwind. As we wrap up the year, international travel is still a no go, and flying in general seems like a bit of a risky proposition. As a result, the humble road trip has roared back on our collective radar as many of us have been taking to the road as a way to get out of the house and explore our surroundings near and far.

When we began discussing road trips on zoom calls and in Slack channels, the one thing that everyone could agree on was that music was essential. A good soundtrack can mean the difference between the hours flying by as fast as the scenery out the window or turning around before you reach your destination.

So what makes a great road trip playlist? It starts with the songs, but with so many incredible choices out there, it’s hard to whittle down to something that stands up to the test of time. However, we had an idea.

To make the perfect road trip playlist, we used three components. First, we looked at Spotify data to identify the most popular songs for driving, according to the top 100 road trip playlists. Next, we surveyed our TripSavvy readers to get their take. After that, our editors weighed in on their favorite songs. In the end, we were left with 29 carefully curated high-vibe songs that create the ultimate travel music of 2020.

Here are the top road trip songs. For the best listening experience, try playing them in order. Enjoy!

"Wake Me Up" by Avicii

Released in 2013, “Wake Me Up” made history by becoming the first song on Spotify to accumulate 200 million streams. This song can instantly put you in a good mood and that's why it's up first on our list.

"Night Moves" by Bob Seger

"Night Moves" is an easy-listening, American Rock classic. "Rolling Stone" magazine named it Single of the Year in 1977. This song is sure to get you in the right headspace for hitting the highway.

"Fly Like an Eagle" by Steve Miller Band

As suggested by one of our readers, "Fly Like an Eagle" was a must-have for this playlist. Even though this psychedelic-rock tune was released in 1976, it still feels relevant today.

Feed the babies Who don't have enough to eat Shoe the children With no shoes on their feet House the people Livin' in the street Oh, oh, there's a solution

"I Feel It Coming" by The Weeknd featuring Daft Punk

As suggested by one of our readers, "I Feel It Coming" is a sensual disco-pop song by The Weeknd and Daft Punk. When you play it, this catchy song will make you instinctively bob along as you're on the road.

"Cruise" by Florida Georgia Line

A song that appears on the Spotify list and was submitted by a reader is "Cruise" by Florida Georgia Line. This upbeat country song will make you wanna roll the windows down and cruise.

"Take It Easy" by the Eagles

After hours of driving, "Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy," might be the best advice you'll get. Released in 1972, "Take It Easy" by the Eagles is still being played by road trippers, appearing 20 times across the top 100 playlists.

"Riptide" by Vance Joy

"Riptide," the 2013 single by Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy, appears on 13 of the top 100 road trip Spotify playlists. This cheery folk song won the World Music Award for World’s Best Song.

"Old Town Road (Remix)" by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus

In 2019 Lil Nas X released "Old Town Road," a country rap remix with Billy Ray Cyrus. It won lots of awards, so it's no wonder that this was a top contender.

"Malibu" by Miley Cyrus

"This song reminds me of a road trip down the west coast from San Francisco to San Diego," says Megan Hartig, Content Marketing Manager. We booked our hotels on the fly with the app Hotel Tonight which was great for spontaneous travel."

"Life in the Fast Lane" by Eagles

You can't listen to "Life in the Fast Lane" without feeling like a badass. This song was on 13 of the top road trip playlists on Spotify. But don't lose your cool as this lyric points out: Life in the fast lane, Surely makes you lose your mind.

Listening to this song can give you a lead foot. Don't get a speeding ticket!

"Hey, Soul Sister" by Train

If you've never sung "Hey, Soul Sister" at the top of your lungs, have you ever been on a road trip? Not according to Spotify listeners. This song appeared 16 times according to Spotify data.

"September" by Earth, Wind & Fire

"I grew up listening to a lot of Earth, Wind & Fire with my parents during road trips," says associate editor Sherri Gardner. "'September' was one of my family’s favorites because it’s fun to sing along to, especially with the windows down."

"Burn The House Down" by AJR

Another great suggestion by one of our readers, "Burn The House Down" written by the pop trio consisting of three brothers, began as a 2018 song about U.S. political climate and became the theme song for the March for Our Lives campaign.

"Carry On Wayward Son" by Kansas

If you're struggling to hang in during your long drive, turn up "Carry On Wayward Son" a little louder for some encouragement. This progressive rock song performed by Kansas in 1976 took the band to the next level.

"Dancing In The Moonlight" by Jubël featuring NEIMY

"Dancing In The Moonlight" was named nine times in the top 100 Spotify road trip playlists. This 2018 feel-good pop cover is sure to lift your spirits with its upbeat rhythm, especially if you are driving after the sun goes down.

"Road Trip (2020 Version)" by Convent Bonfires

This song was suggested by one of our readers, and given the title, we had to include it. This obscure, indie-rock track released this year gives us all the good vibes.

"Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey

With almost one billion streams on Spotify, it's no surprise "Don't Stop Believin'" cracks the top 3, with 24 appearances on Spotify's top road trip playlists. So next time you're in your car, turn up the volume and sing on and on and on and on.

"Circles" by Post Malone

Another song listed on the Spotify charts and our reader survey is "Circles" by Post Malone. This 2019 pop single won Song of the Year at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards. It sat for a record 39 weeks in the Hot 100's top 10.

"Feel This Good" by Jackopierce

Another reader's choice, "Feel This Good" by musical duo Jackopierce is an easy listening song for the freeway.

Woke up this morning, rolled out of bed My favorite song's playing inside my head I go out on the freeway, windows down Don't know where I'm going, but it's good to move around and Days like this should never end

"Big Yellow Taxi" by Lennon & Maisy

Canadian sisters, Lennon and Maisy Stella, do a beautiful cover of the classic song "Big Yellow Taxi" originally sung by Joni Mitchell.

"Shotgun (The Wild Remix)" by George Ezra & The Wild

Whoever gets to ride shotgun is sure to enjoy this 2018 song by George Ezra featuring The Wild. "Shotgun" was listed on both the Spotify and readers' choice lists.

"Layla" by Eric Clapton

The acoustic rock song "Layla" was suggested by readers and found on six of the top Spotify road trip playlists. Hailed as one of the most iconic classic rock ballads of all time, there is no surprise it belongs here.

"Higher Love" by Kygo & Whitney Houston

This version of "Higher Love" produced by Norwegian DJ Kygo and the late Whitney Houston is a tropical, high-energy song that was number two on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

"Free Fallin'" by Tom Petty

"I grew up listening to Tom Petty (he was my first concert), and he's still one of my all-time favorite musicians," says senior editor Jamie Hergenrader. "Free Fallin' is worthy of a road trip playlist because it embodies the vibe of the trip—you're out on the open road, free to explore, and the lyrics even mention or hint at several classic L.A. routes, such as Ventura Boulevard, Highway 101, and Mulholland Drive."

"More Than a Feeling" by Boston

Is there a song that reminds you of your secret crush? Apparently someone in the band Boston had one, and that inspired their hit song "More Than a Feeling." Spotify users can relate. The song shows up on 22 road trip playlists, making it the fourth most popular on our Spotify list.

"Hello Darlin'" by Conway Twitty

“In the car, there’s nothing better than classic country," says Astrid Taran, senior audience editor. "There’s something about driving in the middle of nowhere blasting old school country.”

"Jack & Diane" by John Mellencamp

Last but certainly not least, here we have a classic rock ballad by John Mellencamp. "Jack & Diane" was released in the summer of 1982 and has been a go-to by road trippers ever sense, appearing 10 times in the Spotify road trip lists.

With the passing of his oldest son, Robb (December 9th, 2021), and his wife, Edith (February 17th, 2022), LaVerne is in a new season of ministry. His passion is to see men and women who are bound in addictions receive the freedom he himself experienced many years ago.

Behind the Song

In this segment, LaVerne shares how he wrote his first #1 song "I Know".

We've Got The Power

We've Got The Power has been recorded by many artists and groups. Worship teams in churches worldwide have declared its truth. This is an inside look at how LaVerne wrote the song.

Whisper Mine

This is a song Jesus Himself wrote. Listen to how it happened.

After Calvary

Missions & Outreach

In 1986, we began supporting 10 children in the southern part of India. Because of individuals, churches, youth groups, and organizations joining their resources together, that work has now grown to more than 20,000 children, four churches, a public school, and a Bible College.

We now have government officials in office who were raised in our home. They have been an influential part in changing laws that allow the Gospel of Christ to be preached freely in India.

For a donation of only $150.00, we can take a child in India, place them in our home, feed them three meals a day, clothe them, educate them and prepare them to evangelize their nation for an entire year.

Generations Series

In 2020, Terry Tripp sat down with his dad, LaVerne, in an intimate setting. They talked about life, ministry, and personal experiences.

Kids Road Trip Playlist (that won’t drive parents crazy)

trip family song

Welcome to this month’s Blogorail Peach Loop . Today we are exploring fun you and your family can have on a road trip and a few tips.

It’s that time of the year again. The Cameron family is about to hit the road for our annual summer road trip. Our family has road tripping with kids down to a science. We’ve perfected the right kind of gear to take along.  We’ve made sure to stock the car with plenty of activities for our kids to do. Each time we head out on a new trip we try to add a little something extra. This year, we’re stepping up our music game by creating the ultimate Kids Road Trip Playlist.

trip family song

Not Your Average Kids Music

Music for kids doesn’t have to be only Barney and Kid Bop. No disrespect, but 3 hours of “Old McDonald Had a Farm” is enough to drive you batty. Road trips are about spending time as a family and enjoying the journey together. Road trips were made for singing along and busting out your best car dancing (seated of course). With parental digression, it’s possible to find a ton of kid-friendly mainstream tunes that are fun for the whole family.

When building our family’s road trip playlist, I kept a few things in mind. I wanted to have songs my kids could sing along to, so I included songs from their favorite movies. I also wanted to choose songs that brought back good memories for James and me, so I included some throwbacks and retro tunes. Of course we had to include some Disney favorites as well.

YES YES YES! If I could like this a hundred places I would. From the time you could burn CDs I have made very intentional road trip (or event) playlists, and as you alluded, there's no way we were having Raffi and Barney on hours-long trips :) I think your list is great!

Thank you! Even when my kids were little, we didn't resort to traditional kids music (we loved the Rockabye Baby CDs). So they've grown up listening to a wide variety of songs, many that are on this list.

Family Friendly Road Trip Playlist!

Two Kids In The Second Row Of The Kia Carnival Mpv

Check out our curated playlist, and let the good times roll on your summer road trip!

Summer is nearly upon us and for many of us, that means a road trip when the kids are out of school. This family friendly road trip playlist has something for everyone and, while everyone’s taste and “earworm kid music” threshold is different, this playlist is appropriate for kids and won’t (with a couple of possible exceptions) drive parents too crazy.

If kid-focused tunes (I’m looking at you, Kidz Bop) will drive you crazy on the road and your favorite music has words and phrases you’d rather not explain to your kids on a long car ride, I’ll help you meet in the middle. You might not feel like defining what a “Real G” is or explaining why “Mama said knock you out” when you’re trapped in the car with curious kids who might be intrigued by your musical taste.

This is a (mostly) clean playlist that most families will be comfortable with and for anyone who wants a more general audiences style selection of music to drive to.

Caveat: I’m pretty loosey goosey about what I’ll let my kids listen to and there might be curse words I missed or innuendos that haven’t registered. I’ve indicated exceptions I’ve made for my kids and some possible red flags. At the end of the day, each of us has to decide what’s friendly for our family.

Soundtracks – yes, we’re going to talk about bruno.

Movie or Broadway musical soundtracks are a great way to relive favorite shows or to learn about musical theater. I like these for long stretches of driving where you can get through a complete movie or musical in one pop.

Everyone in your household probably has a favorite movie so check out the corresponding soundtrack and see if they’re something you’d want to listen to on a long trip. Disney movies are great for sing-a-long type songs.

A Girls Guide To Cars | Family Friendly Road Trip Playlist! - Family Road Trip Playlist A Girls Guide To Cars 3

Here are a handful of my favorites:

Disney’s Encanto

I’m sure by now most people have watched Encanto or have at least heard some of the songs. When you get done talking about Bruno (no, no, no) the rest of the songs are upbeat and your kids probably already know all the words.

Frozen and Frozen 2

I’ll just get this out of the way and please know I’m including these somewhat reluctantly. I’m not saying it’s a “must include” but if your kids like it and you can hear Let it Go a few more times without road raging, this could be a fun singalong.

A good compromise is to load Let It Go and Into the Unknown on a larger playlist and leave it at that.

The Breakfast Club

I think this is quite possibly the best movie ever made and the soundtrack is great for both driving and introducing younger family members to the joy of eighties music.  When you think of The Breakfast Club, you probably hear Don’t You Forget About Me playing in your head but there’s a slew of other songs you might have forgotten you love.

Dazed and Confused

Remember Dazed and Confused from 1993? It has a long and varied soundtrack of upbeat music across several genres. Hurricane by Bob Dylan contains one expletive and covers some mature subject matter.

This twist on the traditional story of the Wizard of Oz is family-friendly and the story is easy to follow for those who haven’t seen the musical.

Sponge Bob the Musical

My two tweens love Sponge Bob Square Pants and I…well, it’s the opposite of love. I promise the soundtrack for the Broadway musical is nowhere near as annoying. Give it a try.

Yes, this one includes swearing but I can’t not include it. The music is brilliant and it’s sparked so many conversations about American history that I’ve chosen to overlook the swearing. If you’ve watched Hamilton on Disney+ you’ll need to be aware that some swear words were censored out for that production and that the soundtrack will have a few more F bombs.

30 songs for your road trip playlist

I’ve listed some favorites here. Most of the artists listed have fairly clean music across the board so if your crew likes these songs (or they bring back fun memories for you) then load up your playlist with more from that artist.

Again, I can’t vouch for every single song recorded by all of these artists but these are all upbeat and won’t offend or annoy most people, although everyone has a different boy band tolerance threshold. Looking at you, One Direction.

1. On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons

2. firework by katy perry, 3. all star by smashmouth, 4. moves like jagger by maroon 5, 5. shake it off by taylor swift, 6. kokomo by the beach boys.

Beach Boys music is generally fun if you’re headed to Florida, California or any beach destination.

7. Marry You by Bruno Mars

Not all Bruno Mars lyrics are clean. I think he’s so upbeat and positive and I’ll usually let his more colorful songs onto my family playlist.

9. You Can’t Touch This by MC Hammer

10. happy by pharrell williams, 11. hey soul sister by train, 12. call me maybe by carly rae jespen, 14. radio edit by reach, 15. build me up buttercup by the foundations, related: 5 of the best compact cars for road tripping, 16. jessie’s girl by rick springfield.

I’ll refrain from mentioning Rick Springfield is in his 70’s. Oops. Sorry eighties babies.

17. Let’s Hear it for the Boy by Deniece Williams

In fact, the entire Footloose (the original Footloose, thankyouverymuch) soundtrack is worth listening to.

18. Come on Eileen by Dexy’s Midnight Runners

19. step by step by the backstreet boys.

And, probably anything by the Backstreet Boys, unless they drove you nuts in the nineties.

20. Bye Bye Bye by INSYNC

21. what makes you beautiful by one direction.

Okay, moving on from the boy bands now, although most boy band and BTS music is fairly kid friendly if you’ve got others you dig.

22. Men in Black by Will Smith

Although Smith isn’t the most well-loved artist right now (can you say Oscar Night drama?) his music is generally clean and upbeat.

23. Good Golly Miss Molly by Little Richard

24. splish splash by bobby darin, 25. the twist by chubby checker, 26. yakety yak by the coasters, 27. itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini by bryan hyland, 26. iko iko by the dixie cups, 27. rapper’s delight by the sugar hill gang.

If you don’t already have the lyrics to this OG rap song memorized, give it a listen and dazzle your travel companions with how you go down in history as the baddest rapper there ever could be.

28. Rhinestone Cowboy by Glenn Campbell

29. fancy by reba mcentire.

This one might be a little iffy if your kids really dig in to the meaning behind the words but I included it because the chorus is so sing-a-long worthy. Reba is one of my country favorites but many of her songs focus on cheating and marital unhappiness so those may be a no-go for parents.

30. Guitars, Cadillacs by Dwight Yoakam

Related: 9 of the best in-car organizers to keep your family tidy, other genres/artists to introduce kids to.

I listed a few fifties rock and roll songs above but that era of music, while probably shocking to parents back then, is fun, upbeat and generally innocent.

Elvis, The Beatles, Motown, Chuck Berry, Sha Na Na, The Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick, Jr. Michael Buble are all worth checking out. Some early 90’s hip hop is pretty clean, such as Kriss Kross, a lot of MC Hammer, and Young MC.

If you like country music, vintage Dolly, Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Tim McGraw, Hank Williams, and my forever queen, Tanya Tucker can be fun to listen and sing to. Although country music doesn’t typically contain off color-language, there’s often references to cheating or alcohol that might be a no go for some families. Bottom line: If you put something on a playlist you haven’t fully listened to, you might be surprised by something that doesn’t align with your tastes or values.

It’s pretty easy to hit the fast forward button and move to the next song.

What do you think I missed? I’d love to hear your favorites.

3. Khwabon Ke Parindey (ZNMD)

Exactly ten years later, Farhan Akhtar's sister Zoya comes out with an extension of the road trip  vibe movie, only this time on a much larger scale. 4. Tanha Dil (Shaan)

5. Suhana Safar Aur Ye (Madhumati)

Prince William is sharing his condolences following the death of Sven-Göran Eriksson, the first foreign manager of England's men's national soccer team.

A family statement said that Eriksson died on Aug. 26 at age 76, BBC and ESPN reported. In January, he shared that he had inoperable pancreatic cancer, the Associated Press wrote.

Taking to X to share a personal message, Prince William wrote, "Sad to hear about the passing of Sven-Göran Eriksson. I met him several times as England manager and was always struck by his charisma and passion for the game."

"My thoughts are with his family and friends. A true gentleman of the game," the Prince of Wales, 42, continued, signing off "W." Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton , are known to sign social media posts on their official Prince and Princess of Wales handles with the initials of their first names to signal when messages come directly from them.

Eriksson was from Sweden, and moved into the managerial side of soccer after retiring from the game at age 27, the BBC reported.

He managed the England men's national team, nicknamed the Three Lions, from 2001 to 2006, and met Prince William during that time.

King Charles ' elder son is the president of the Football Association, the governing body of soccer in England, and a loyal follower of the sport. In July, he attended the UEFA European Championship Final between England and Spain in Berlin, Germany, with his son Prince George , 11. The father and son duo watched the match with similar animated body language and shared a hug in the stands.

Prince William is known to send personal messages on X to comment on major news in the British soccer world, and he paid tribute to Eriksson amid his summer break with Princess Kate and their three children. Members of the British royal family are known to retreat from the limelight from late July through August for private vacations, and William and Kate were in Scotland over the weekend.

On Aug. 25, Prince William and Princess Kate, 42, were spotted driving to Crathie Kirk church on the estate of Balmoral Castle with Prince George. King Charles, Queen Camilla , Prince Edward , Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh's son James, Earl of Wessex were also in attendance, the Daily Mail reported.

Princess Kate's appearance marked her first public outing in over a month as she continues treatment for cancer . The Princess of Wales was last seen at Wimbledon with her daughter, Princess Charlotte , 9, on July 14, where she presented prizes in her role as patron of the All England Lawn and Tennis Club.

The royal family's tradition of late summer stays at Balmoral was expected to continue as Princess Kate and her father-in-law the King, 75, each receive cancer treatment.

"She won’t have to be on center stage," a palace insider previously told PEOPLE about how the Princess of Wales would spend the late summer at the private residence in the Scottish Highlands. "Being with her family and just being herself will give her energy. There will be plenty of time to focus on her recovery."

Prince William and Princess Kate have always cleared their calendars in the summer to spend extra time with their kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis , 6. The Prince of Wales' return to work on Sept. 5 falls after his kids are back in the classroom for a new school year.

Breaking news, trump shooter thomas crooks’ parents retain high-powered lawyers as feds probe what they knew and when: report.

The family of Thomas Matthew Crooks has retained a top law firm as the FBI continues its investigation into last month’s deadly rally shooting in which former President Donald Trump was nearly assassinated .

Nearly six weeks on, federal authorities have struggled to piece together an explanation for why Crooks opened fire on the crowd in Butler, Pennsylvania, and little more is known about the 20-year-old today than at the time of the shooting.

The Crooks family is being represented by Quinn Logue — a top Pittsburgh law firm, according to Daily Mail .

The family of would-be Trump assassin have retained a law firm as the FBI investigates the shooting.

Quinn Logue, headed up by veteran lawyers John Quinn and Matthew Logue, specializes in personal injury, legal malpractice and employment litigation cases, according to its website.

The firm also does criminal defense — though the partners in the firm seem to focus more on civil litigation, based on their biographies.

Its team of attorneys has garnered widespread recognition by organizations like Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America and the National Trial Lawyers Association.

Neighbors of the Crooks family in Bethel Park, Pa., told The Post that things have gone mostly back to normal on their quiet street after being swarmed with reporters and cops for much of the last month.

Police tape seen outside of the Crooks' house in Bethel Park following the shooting.

“It’s been weeks since police were here. There’s nothing happening, no police activity,” neighbor Kelly Little, 39, told The Post last week, noting that although local cops drive by occasionally, there are no officers stationed there long-term.

Crooks’ parents have also been keeping to themselves since the shooting, which neighbors said was the norm even before they were thrust into the national spotlight.

“You can ask anybody on this street, they barely know these people. I didn’t even know their names,” another neighbor, Karen, 77, told The Post.

Crooks seen at the Butler rally ahead of the shooting.

The lack of forward momentum in determining Crooks’ motive has prompted some lawmakers to accuse the FBI and Secret Service of slow-rolling the investigation into the first attempted killing of a sitting or former US president in more than 40 years.

“It’s been more than a month since former President Trump’s near-assassination, yet the FBI has still not offered Congress or the public any real insights into Crooks’ motivation,” Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) told The Post.

Everything we know about the Trump assassination attempt

  • 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks was identified as the shooter who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
  • Crooks was shot dead by Secret Service agents.
  • The gunman grazed Trump’s ear, killed a 50-year-old retired fire chief , and injured two other rally-goers.
  • Investigators detailed Crooks’ search history to lawmakers, revealing that he looked for the dates of Trump’s appearances and the Democratic National Convention.
  • Crooks’ search history also revealed a broad interest in high-profile people and celebrities, regardless of their political affiliation, FBI officials reportedly said.
  • Trump exclusively recounted surviving the “surreal” assassination attempt with The Post at the rally, remarking, “I’m supposed to be dead.”
  • High-profile politicians, including President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris , addressed the nation about the shooting, calling it “a heinous, horrible and cowardly act.”

“The FBI ought to stop dragging its feet and provide a serious update on their investigation. Every day the FBI, as well as the Secret Service, keep the American people in the dark is another day wasted.”

Sen. Ron Johnson  (R-Wis.), who is on a bipartisan Senate investigation into the attempt on Trump’s life, also vented his frustration at the progress of the investigation so far.

“All I can really tell you is the Secret Service, FBI are basically dragging their feet. They’re stonewalling us,” Johnson said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

A woman answering the phone at Quinn Logue said the firm had no comment when reached by The Post Monday morning.
