This is my second time seeing them and I promise won't be the last. Glass House, here I come.

I wanted to bring my girlfriend cause I was telling her how bad ass they were. She gave me the look of, "You want to go so you can see the chick." Yes and no. Aimee is without a doubt a hottie and if this gets to her, yes YOU ARE HOT! But the music is just so great. I can't recall her ever going to a small venue show like that with me. And I question if she'd go again. We started in the front middle and by the time the Interrupters came on, we were tossed to the front right. I'm comfortable with the tossing but I don't know she is.

As for the JMc&tD, BC/BC, & Left Alone, Spotifying them and listening to them. Just great music from them.

ABSOLUTELY F#@KING AWESOME!!!

One of the best gigs I've been to in a long time. I know they are a great band but The Interrupters are fantastic live, thanks for a brilliant night guys!

The atmosphere was great and the crowd was on top form.

The support acts were tops as well, especially Maid of Ace, who are a personal favorite.

Anyone who has not seen any of these bands, go see them, you wont be disappointed.

(a quick apology to Abby of MoA, if I came across rude, it wasn't my intention, I was just starstruck! sorry Abby, sorry girls. Stevo)

From the first act, Sharp Shock, through Skinny Lister & on to the Interrupters themselves, this was a high energy fun-filled evening! I confess to being unaware of the two support bands, but I have been checking them out since the show... The Interrupters though... they are one hell of a band, great music & a fantastic presence on stage, really feeding off of the crowd. Respect to the security team too, they did an excellent job keeping everyone safe without stamping on the fun. A great night out...

The energy in the room was electric. This band connected with us in the audience. There is such a power in their music and they are extraordinary musicians. I honestly cannot recommend these guys enough, everything from guitar solos behind their heads, drum solos that rocked the venue, and vocals that left you speechless. I screamed at the top of my lungs singing with them and have been wearing their band merch every day since the concert.

Very high energy show. Very personable band that loves to interact with the crowd and watch out for their fans.

When the mosh pit got a little too big and and a little too intense, they stopped the show to get all the kids out of harms way and let them stand at the back of the stage with them the entire rest of the show. Very cool gesture to make sure the youngest fans didn't get hurt and also had a great experience to talk about.

One of the best shows I've seen. Veey personable, interacts with the audience, sounds great. The energy is amazing, they put their heart into every song and you can tell they love what they do and are happy to be there. After the set they came down and talked tk the crowd.... not too good to thank us dor coming out. I will never miss another show when they come thru. Thank you thank you thank you cor an amazing night.

The Interrupters were absolutely amazing and I’m so happy that I was able to go. The set was amazing, their performance was amazing, and the interaction that they had with the audience was so good. The crowd got a little crazy but that’s obviously expected. Also the opening bands were also very good and I really enjoyed both of them. Overall it was a great experience and it was a night filled with unforgettable moments.

Well, it's THE INTERRUPTERS! Do they ever put on a bad show - NO! This was a record release party in a record store, so the it was a bit of short set. Could have used more dancin' room as it's tough to skank between record isles. The band was super appreciative of the gig, very friendly and personable at the record signing! If you have never see this band - you're life may very well not be complete!

The Interrupters are a great band on record and their sound holds up live. Great energy and very tight. They had the whole venue dancing. Unfortunately the show ended with pepper spray, fights and cops. They hung around outside after the incidents took place and talked with the crowd. I really hope this night doesn't dissuade them from returning to New Jersey. WE NEED MORE BANDS LIKE THIS!

NJSkaPunk’s profile image

Excellent performance from start to finish from these guys, would 100% recommend and would definitely see again! Support acts a little hit and miss for my taste (and the wrong way round- buster Shuffle were far better than the skints).

Merch a bit over priced but that seems to be a theme these days, good selection though.

The Interrupters Announce North American Co-Headline Tour with Frank Turner for 2023

Facebook icon

Tickets On-Sale Friday, Dec. 16 at 10 AM Local

“an interrupters show is both a raucous affair and a communal one—a mosh pit with fists in the air one minute, hundreds of voices joyfully singing and smiling in unison the next.” – entertainment weekly, “[the interrupters] energetic, sauna-hot live shows have felt more like family gatherings than gigs” — kerrang, “who better than frank turner to underscore the imminent joy of reconnecting with others generally, this sort of earnestness can be wearying, but turner succeeds because he sounds like he’s just stomped out of a stuffy meeting to go yell on a street corner, frantic with euphoria.” — the new york times.

On the verge of wrapping their massively successful summer/fall tour dates,  The Interrupters  have announced a tour, produced by Live Nation, that will kick off on April 20, 2023 in Portland, OR running through June 3 in Anaheim, CA.  Frank Turner  will co-headline on select dates throughout the tour with additional special guests joining in every city.

Tickets will be available  here   on Friday, Dec. 16 at 10 AM local time

“With the recent release of our fourth album  In The Wild , we are so excited to get back out on the road and celebrate live music across the U.S. and Canada with the incredibly talented Frank Turner and so many of our amazing friends,”  The Interrupters  share. “We are honored to have Hepcat, Laura Jane Grace, Chuck Regan, Bedouin Soundclash, The Skints, The Bandulus, and Left Alone on select dates with us. We can’t wait to see you all! This is gonna be a party!!”

“After doing 50 states in 50 days last summer, I was wondering how you follow that, in terms of touring the USA…”  Frank Turner  shares. “And now I know – team up with one of the best punk bands out there. I’m really excited to share a stage with  The Interrupters , it feels like a meeting of minds and music. I can’t wait to hit the road.”

The Interrupters  released their fourth studio album  In The Wild  this past summer, which has been regarded as “the best songs the Interrupters have ever written…beyond even the incredible candor is an ambitious musicality” ( Alternative Press ). Along with their 2023 tour announcement, the band has also dropped a stripped-back, acoustic rendition of their song “ Raised By Wolves ,” which they performed live at the  KROQ DTS Sound Space  earlier this year. This past weekend saw the band performing at KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas alongside The Black Keys, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Imagine Dragons at Los Angeles’ The Kia Forum.

About The Interrupters:

Formed in 2011,  The Interrupters  came together when the Bivona brothers—guitarist Kevin Bivona, bassist Justin Bivona, and drummer Jesse Bivona—found themselves on various bills with Aimee (Interrupter) as a solo artist. Upon bonding over musical tastes, the four formed  The Interrupters  and delivered their self-titled debut in 2014 . The Interrupters  have shared stages with bands such as Rancid, blink-182, Green Day, Bad Religion, and many other stalwarts of the punk scene solidifying the band’s status as a dynamic force. The band released their fourth studio album  In The Wild  in August 2022.

About Frank Turner:

Frank Turner  is one of the UK’s most successful artists. He’s released 9 studio albums in his 17-year solo career, the most recent of which,  FTHC  (Feb. 2022) became his first #1 hit on the UK Official Album Chart. His previous four albums have all peaked at #2 or #3 in the chart. Having sold over a million albums worldwide, he has scored three gold-certified albums and one silver status. He has just completed the ambitious 50 States in 50 Days tour – the first non-US citizen to do so and his award-winning 4 day festival, Lost Evenings, just concluded in Berlin.

The Interrupters announce only UK headline show of 2024

Fresh from this weekend’s Monster Energy Stage extravaganza at Slam Dunk, The Interrupters will be back in July for a one-off London date…

The Interrupters announce only UK headline show of 2024

The Interrupters have announced their only UK headline show of 2024.

Following a triumphant pair of shows at Slam Dunk Festival this weekend – which we described as “certainly a decisive victory” – the band will be back here in a couple of months’ time for a one-off date.

The four-piece are set to headline London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on July 1, with support coming from Rhoda Dakar and a Josh Skints DJ set.

And Aimee Interrupter will surely be extra -happy about that, telling us in 2022 that Rhoda is one of her biggest heroes .

“Being the leader of the first all-female two-tone ska band is more than enough to make her a hero of mine, but my love for Rhoda Dakar extends even beyond that,” Aimee enthused. “As a performer, I am hypnotised by her magnetic energy and the way she commands the stage. I’ve watched her performance in the movie Dance Craze more times than I can count. Her voice is beautiful and strong, and when you get to the core of her lyrics, you hear powerful messages of justice and equality.”

Get your tickets this Friday, May 31 from 10am .

The Interrupters: “I started singing as an act of rebellion – it made me feel like I could take my power back”

When lockdown hit and bands were forced to face a new reality, Aimee Interrupter was confronted with an old one. Reckoning with the trauma of her past, The Interrupters’ vocalist faced her demons head-on after years of turning away, coming out the other side to create the most introspectively powerful album of their career. North American Swifties are traveling internationally for their best chance at seeing Taylor Swift’s 2024 “Eras Tour” as the singer makes her way through Europe.

Swift kicked off the European leg of her tour — after a two-month break and a new album release — on May 9 in Paris, France. The singer performed for four nights at the Paris La Défense Arena and continued her tour through Sweden, Portugal and Spain.

Fans have noticed Swift’s European dates have been significantly cheaper than her North American concerts. With instances of ticket prices dropping below triple digits, a trip across the pond may very well be worth the extra travel expenses.

Swift still has 42 concerts left on her European leg before she heads back to North America, where prices remain in the thousands.

Where to get tickets to Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’:

At the time of publishing, the cheapest concert date is Lyon, France (6/3/24), starting at $76 on Vivid Seats .

It’s important to note ticket prices fluctuate frequently in the resale market and vary by city and seating location. Tickets are available for purchase through platforms like Vivid Seats , StubHub or TicketNetwork .

Who will be supporting Taylor Swift in Europe?

Taylor Swift will be joined by the alt-rock band Paramore, who will open for all her European tour dates.

Their set includes hit songs like “Hard Times,” “Still Into You,” “Misery Business,” “Ain’t It Fun” and more.

What’s the setlist for the ‘Eras Tour’?

With the release of Taylor Swift’s new album, “The Tortured Poets Department” (you can order it here ), the singer has mixed up her setlist from her previous North American dates. The 45-song setlist now includes songs from “Lover,” “Fearless,” “Red,” “Speak Now,” “Reputation,” “Folklore,” “Evermore,” “1989,″ “The Tortured Poets Department” and “Midnights,” in that order.

The new songs Swift is performing from “The Tortured Poets Department” include “But Daddy I Love Him,” “So High School,” “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?,” “Down Bad,” “Fortnight,” “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart.”

Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger gives his all singing onstage.

The Rolling Stones ‘Hackney Diamonds Tour’ concert experience technically starts the day before Mick, Keith and Ronnie take the stage.

On Saturday morning, fans with tickets to the Sunday, May 26 MetLife Stadium show received an email asking which song they’d like built into the following evening’s set list. The four options were:

“All Down The Line” from 1972’s “Exile On Main Street” “Heartbreaker” from 1973’s “Goat’s Head Soup” “Out Of Control” from 1997’s “Bridges To Babylon” “Bite My Head Off” from 2023’s “Hackney Diamonds”

It’s a brilliant marketing scheme by one of music’s savviest bands. If those tracks don’t sound familiar, you’ll likely go down an unexpected rabbit hole to find out which is your favorite. Alternately, Stones diehards can flash their knowledge of semi-obscure deep cuts. A true win-win.

We’ll get back to the winning song later, though. Let’s go to the show now.

At 8 p.m. sharp, New York-based group Lawrence kicked off their high-energy, brassy set. The trio doesn’t typically open for the Stones; instead all shows on the ‘Hackney Diamonds Tour’ feature a different special guest. That being said, this night, Stones fans were treated to something special. For 40ish minutes, Lawrence brought danceable, sax-y tracks with big hooks, multiple vocalists, earnest lyrics and big builds that led into triumphant choruses to the 82,500-seat football stadium turned concert venue. They even threw in inspired Sean Paul and Stevie Wonder covers for good measure. Keep an eye on their fall 2024 ‘Family Business Tour’ which includes a night at Radio City Music Hall on Thursday, Sept. 19. You won’t want to miss it.

Around 8:45, Lawrence left to impassioned cheers, having won the crowd over with their raucous, meticulous jams.

Now, the packed house played the waiting game. The always trusty Set List FM suggested the Stones would likely take the stage anywhere from 9:15 to 9:25 based on past gigs. If you ask this reviewer, that’s quite late for an AARP-sponsored show, but the Rolling Stones have defied expectations with their longevity, effortless genre-hopping and endlessly entertaining live shows for 60+ years. Why stop now?

Just as restlessness was setting in within the massive crowd, the instantly recognizable opening strings of “Start Me Up” blasted from center stage.

Then there they were: Mick. Keith. Ronnie. In all their glory.

Everyone in the Jets and Giants stadium stood and began singing along. How could you not? Still, Jagger’s powerful vocals soared above the 80,000-plus people who had likely belted “Start Me Up” in their showers for years. His unmistakable brooding croon sounded just as strong as it did in his ’60s, ’70s and ’80s heyday. Heck, maybe the heyday never ended. In any event, it was clear. We were in good hands for a rollicking good time.

From there, the Stones dropped the infectious banger “Get Off Of My Cloud” while the 80-year-old Mick began shedding layers. By song two, we were down to just an undershirt.

The evening’s first surprise came soon after when the Stones’ “Bitch,” made its ‘Hackney Diamonds Tour’ debut. With a bit of distortion, the 1971 classic took a second to register before hitting the audience in the sweet spot as Mick and Ronnie gave 150% onstage, delivering the 53-year-old ditty with a ferocious urgency.

At past shows, they performed “Shattered,” “Let’s Spend The Night Together” and “She’s So Cold” in this spot. Should you go to a future show–keep an eye out. This is where the always inventive Stones start to mix things up a bit.

Soon after, fans were treated to the new stuff. Most groups can’t pull this off; in fact, “new stuff” is practically a dirty word at live shows. However, the Rolling Stones aren’t just any band. Their searing lead single “Angry” off “Hackney Diamonds” had the packed house singing and clapping along in no time. Anyone that was skeptical of stuff they’d recorded after 1981 need not worry. These chaps are showmen and sold the polished hard rockin’ number with an intensity typically reserved for a group that has something to prove.

And with that, let’s get back to that poll we mentioned earlier.

To introduce the surprise song, Mick stopped the show and pointed to the jumbo screen behind the band. A list of well-known tracks they don’t play often scrolled, leaving the hungry crowd salivating. So many undeniable bops, so little time. Sigh. If only the band had time for “Ruby Tuesday,” “She’s A Rainbow,” “Beast Of Burden,” “It’s Only Rock and Roll,” “Out Of Time,” “Monkey Man” and so many other stone cold classics. If only.

“Heartbreaker” ended up winning the poll and the group hard launched into the heavy tune. For the next few minutes, blues met rock right in the middle, creating a perfect sonic fusion.

From there, the hit parade began. The beloved melancholy ballad “Wild Horses” bled into the infectious “Tumbling Dice.” “Whole Wide World,” off the new album, came next. It started clunkily with it simplistic lyrics ( “When The Whole Wide World’s Against You/And You’re Standing In The Rain”) but stuck the landing when Keith’s hard charging guitar morphed the song into a higher plane.

Finally, the long-awaited “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” was next. A true “stander” if you will (that’s when everybody in your section collectively decides to get up from their seat and sway to the music). Mick turned the mic on the crowd and had us sing. We were all connected. This is what we came for. This is what live music is all about.

Still, Jagger was likely exhausted at this point. As a frontman, Mick is equal parts showman, dancer and singer. He’s a true triple threat — we didn’t even mention how he played a little guitar, harmonica and maracas too (!) — and at 80, he needed a well-deserved break.

Yet, rather than subject the crowd to an intermission, sometimes vocalist Keith Richards subbed in for Mick and delivered a pair of tracks. First was the uneven, vulnerable “Tell Me Straight.” Richards, looking a bit older than his bandmates, gave it his all with the always-reliable Wood at his side. This was Keith’s moment in the sun and he clearly relished the spotlight. To close the Keith portion of the evening, he won us over with the fun “Little T&A.” Richards gave a little wave, flashed a toothy grin and retreated to his second banana station as Mick returned with a new, gold sport coat.

A stripped down “Sympathy For The Devil” blared from the state-of-the-art speakers. Cheeky, inventive graphics rolled behind the band as they put a new spin on the hummable anthem. It was the same, it was different, it was as good as ever. For our money, it’s truly unbelievable that there are still new tools in the Stones’ toolkit. They’re clearly very happy experimenting and fraying the edges of fan favorites.

The music stopped for a moment and Mick, ever the charmer, did a little crowd work. Based on applause, he found quite a few folks hailed from New Jersey; some commuted from New York. Most surprisingly, a handful traveled from Connecticut.

“Connecticut,” Jagger smiled. “I heard they have the best pizza in America.”

Boos erupted; the man clearly knew what he was doing by playing the heel for just a minute. Maybe being loved at all times gets old.

He didn’t have to wait too long to win his throngs of adoring fans back, though. The country-fried “Honky Tonk Women” and sprawling, shambolic “Midnight Rambler” made us forget about the pizza quip in no time.

What came next was the evening’s undisputed highlight.

“Gimme Shelter,” with help from otherworldly backup singer Chanel Haynes, was worth the price of admission alone. This reviewer welled up as she belted scream-cried “RAPE MURDER” making the iconic, emotional moment all her own. Excuse the hyperbole but you haven’t seen live music until you’ve heard Haynes transcend time and space going for broke on this always powerful, personal tearjerker. This truly was something else and likely won’t be forgotten by anyone that was at MetLife that night.

Still, there was more show.

And what a show.

The thrumming “Paint It Black” and lively “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” exploded next before the blokes took a bow and headed backstage.

“No ‘Miss You?'” my section cried. No “Miss You” tonight. We’d have to make do without the wordless, catchy “Hoo a hoo hoo” refrain. Oh, well. We were drunk on rock and roll and wanted one more round before last call.

Of course, they returned for an encore. Cellphones waved in the air over the pleasant “Sweet Sounds Of Heaven” before the definitive closer “Satisfaction.”

While Mick may not be able to get any, he surely delivered quite a bit to the fans.

Fans walked out grumbling over songs they didn’t play. On the walk to the NJT, strangers bonded over tracks they desperately wanted to hear but they didn’t get to. Truly a “Heartbreaker.” Even so, that’s how you know the Rolling Stones are truly great. People want more after a two-hour show? Now that’s entertainment.

Maybe they should send a poll to fans letting them pick all the songs they play on their sticky fingers crossed next tour.

Final verdict: These 80-somethings are simply built different. If you haven’t seen the Stones live and it’s on your bucket list, make catching ‘Hackney Diamonds’ a priority. This is a tour not to be missed. Mick, Keith and Ronnie might not always give you what you want (but you’ll get what you need).

Rolling Stones 2024 tour schedule

After the brief New Jersey stay, Mick, Keith, and co. have 12 more stadium concerts on their 2024 tour calendar.

For a closer look, here’s where they’re headed next (along with the special guests they’re bringing along):

The Rolling Stones new music

On Oct. 20, the Stones released their 26th American studio album,  “Hackney Diamonds,”  featuring special guests Paul McCartney, Elton John, Lady Gaga and Stevie Wonder.

Comprised of 12 hard-rocking tracks that wouldn’t be out of place alongside their singalong stadium anthems of yore, “Diamonds” shows that Mick, Keith, and Ronnie still have their sticky fingers on rock and roll’s pulse.

“We wouldn’t have put this album out if we didn’t really like it,” Jagger, 80, told Jimmy Fallon. “We must say that we are quite pleased with it. We’re not big-headed but we hope you like it.”

If you’re looking to sample the record, we suggest starting with the fierce lead track “Angry” and the wistful ballad “Dreamy Skies.”

Neil Young and Crazy Horse’s Tour Is a Tribute to a Titan From Their Past

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

Neil Young and Crazy Horse are about halfway through their North American tour , and there’s already a strong fan consensus that this is their best run in recent memory , perhaps even going back to the Nineties grunge era they helped kickstart. A big factor at play is the addition of guitarist Micah Nelson, who has deep respect for the material and an uncanny ability to emulate the distinct styles of both Danny Whitten and Frank “Poncho” Sampedro, his two main predecessors in the band.

Just two years away from his 80th birthday, Young is playing with a fierce, wild-eyed passion and mixing up the setlist practically every night. Some critics have labeled this a “greatest hits” show since nearly every song in the rotating repertoire was recorded between 1969 and 1979 (or during their early Nineties resurgence), but something more profound is happening onstage than boomer nostalgia.

Young met Briggs right around the time Buffalo Springfield dissolved in 1968. “I was hitchhiking,” Young told biographer Jimmy McDonough in his book Shakey . “He stopped to pick me up. I just wanted to check out the vehicle. Briggs was a unique individual. He was as crazy as I am. I called him Mr. Briggs most of the time. Monsieur Briggs.”

Editor’s picks

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

“Briggs went on the trip — whatever it was,” Young told McDonough. “Stayed with it. As long as it was happening, he was there. Hard to describe, really. The thing is, he knew how much work went into this. If it was a record or a song or somethin’, he knew the effort that went into making it right and the care it took…Very few people understood that. Particularly very few people around me. He was as tenacious as I am. Maybe even more. When he got an idea in his head that somethin’ was fucked, it was fucked. He wasn’t going to change his mind.”

“Get on his wrong side, forget it,” Briggs friend Bobby Morris said. “He’d probably kill you before he’d fight you. Just shoot you dead.”

Briggs was just 51 when he died from lung cancer on Nov. 26, 1995. Young and Crazy Horse headed right into the studio to record Broken Arrow in the aftermath, where they poured their grief into the music. And even 29 years later, Young still looks a little pained every night onstage when he delivers “Scattered (Let’s Think About Livin’).”

Watch neil young and crazy horse perform 'sedan delivery' for first time since 2013, neil young stuns at 2024 tour launch, unveils lost 'cortez the killer' verse.

Young’s music has been more than a little scattered since Briggs left the Earth. He’s made some great records like Silver and Gold , Prairie Wind and Psychedelic Pill , but there’s also been a lot of duds that likely wouldn’t have passed the Briggs test.

When David Crosby spoke to Rolling Stone in 2016, he hinted at this without naming any names. “Too often artists just hear, ‘Oh, sweetie, you’re fantastic!'” he said. “They’re not your friends. They’re just kissing your butt. There’s a perfect example of that, a person we both know. I’m not gonna say whose name it is, but it really fits…There’s probably been three or four bad records in a row.”

Justice alito’s upside-down flag claim dismantled by police, neighbors: report, how a 4-hour video about disney’s failed ‘star wars hotel’ took over the internet, sean 'diddy' combs: 10 key takeaways from our six-month investigation.

We were talking about David Briggs. It’s not a name you hear too often these days unless you’re speaking to a diehard Neil Young fan. Briggs almost never gave interviews, and was content to live far outside the spotlight. But all these years later, Young is honoring him on a tour where he plays “Down by the River,” “Powderfinger,” “Cortez the Killer,” “Cinnamon Girl,” and other timeless songs he created with him. The cheers all night are partially for Briggs.
