One Piece Treasure Cruise is an RPG video game. It follows the plot of the manga from Luffy 's childhood to Whole Cake Island , however, more of the manga's story is added periodically. There are also many extra quests based on later parts of the manga and filler from the anime. [1] [2] [3]

Gameplay [ ]

General [ ].

Treasure Cruise follows the standard turn-based gameplay of traditional RPGs. The game proceeds through a variety of islands based on the different story arcs of the series. Each island contains a number of different levels where the player fights hordes of enemies.

Crew Information [ ]

The player can organize up to eight crews with the playable characters they acquire as they progress through the story,  gacha  pulls and various promotions. They can put up to six people in each crew, and can also sacrifice the generic playable enemy and animal characters to increase the levels of and evolve other characters.

One Piece Treasure Cruise features simple tap controls. An attack is initiated by tapping any character in the lower part of the screen, and tapping other characters at the right time forms combos and deals extra damage. The combos are "miss", "good", "great", and "perfect". Also, the player can have a chain attack boost for getting good, great, and perfect. Many characters possess unique special abilities that can to help turn the battle in the player's favor.

Almost all characters that are present in gameplay are acquirable as playable characters. The only exception so far is Frieza , who was available in a past crossover event. Most characters also come in many different versions depending on what part of the manga they come from, or different promotional events.

One Piece Treasure Cruise - Best crews to start off your voyage

One Piece Treasure Cruise features an extensive roster of characters built up over its almost ten-year pedigree, featuring a variety of both obscure and famous fighters from across the Grand Line and New World for you to play.

What is a crew?

So, tandems are really only present for FTP (free-to-play) characters. They can be useful very early on if you want to boost your team’s damage but don’t rely on them as they’re not particularly useful in the long run. But, as for how to build your crew there’s a variety of methods, with complimentary abilities, specials and more.

Now, for a basic overview of how characters work; each character has an element, which is a pretty common mechanic in most Japanese games . These represent different attributes and how they’re strong or weak against another, to start off with you’ll want to prioritise getting your commonly unlocked characters levelled up, the Strawhat Pirates. After that you'll concentrate on experimenting with new characters, it can seem a bit overwhelming at first, but we've got some sample crews to get you started, and one highly recommended deck from a few years ago that should let you breeze through the early game.

Here are some crew suggestions to get you started:

1 #1 - “Straw Hat Pirates”

Characters: (Captain) Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, Usopp, Nami

The Straw Hat Pirates are probably the most recognisable group from the series. And, as we noted in our tier list, they also have the greatest variety of evolutions and variants in One Piece Treasure Cruise. Since you unlock these characters throughout the main story, you’ll most likely have them, and they’re a great way to introduce yourself to how evolutions work; Luffy, Sanji, Zoro and Usopp also gain their own tandem attack, although as we noted this won’t be of much use early on, but can still be helpful if you’re mainly using FTP characters.

2 #2 - “Arlong Pirates”

Characters: (Captain) Arlong, Choo, Hatchan, Kuroobi, Fishman Pirates or duplicates to round out

One of the early teams who also have a tandem attack, the Fishman Pirates are another group that you’ll unlock through your adventures in the main story. They’re a good choice to expand beyond the central Straw Hat Crew, and at one point Arlong’s evolution was considered a top-tier character. Time, and updates, have neutered that potential somewhat but as you go through the vanilla story arc he’ll be more than suitable for a hard-hitting team. This is also one scenario where you may want to use generic fighting characters to round out - if you want to keep the theme that is. Otherwise, sub in a Straw Hat or anyone else who rounds out your elements.

You’ll also be able to evolve Arlong further as you go, although the other Fishmen will likely need to be subbed out in order to make space for other characters as you progress.

3 #3 - “EXPLaw”

This is a team you’ll frequently see cited for newer players. The bad news is you’ll need this version of Trafalgar Law and most likely Smoker to make it work, as well as a friend who has Law as well to be your ‘guest’ fighter. However, the good news is that the other three Straw Hats are all evolutions of their starting characters, so even if you’re FTP there’s only a need for about three out of six characters to be unlocked via pulls. As it stands this is one of the more detailed teams for clearing early-game content, but always bear in mind that mileage may vary with newer updates.

However, the general layout of this team speaks to the fact that - if you play your cards right - you’ll likely end up with rarer recruits early on. If you’re a lore purist this may be a little off-putting, but when you get rare team characters that you can play or want to grind and farm earlier content there’s no reason not to break out of the Straw Hat team.

4 Additional Tips & Resources

Thanks to nearly ten years of development and community engagement the One Piece Treasure Cruise fandom has put together a number of resources. The One Piece Treasure Cruise wiki offers detailed breakdowns of almost half the entire cast, although it cuts off some of the newer cards, while Nakama Network is an excellent resource for seeing what teams other players are running to clear content as well as trialling your own.

As we recommend in our reroll guide for One Piece Treasure Cruise , one key thing to remember and that we see shouted from the rooftops for new players is to wait for Sugo Fests when pulling. These roughly twice-per-month events allow for much greater pull chances of rare recruits and are considered basically the only time you should spend your Rainbow Gems, or - God forbid - real money.

When the Egghead Island arc began, hardly any fan thought that it would be tied so deeply to the Void Century. As soon as the Straw Hat Pirates arrived on the Island and spoke to Vegapunk, it became incredibly clear that he had a connection with the people of Ohara, and that he had been studying Poneglyphs for quite a while now. At the same time, Vegapunk had also found out about the Ancient Giant, created during the Void Century, and as Luffy fought against Lucci, he revealed that he had information on the Sun God, Nika as well. Clearly, Vegapunk had quite a lot of crucial information that fans did not know at this point in the story.

To make a long story short, the world, as we know it, will sink into the sea!

Due to the attack of the World Government on Egghead, Vegapunk did not have any time to divulge the information to the fans, at least not in the desired way. However, as soon as Vegapunk ended up dying , which happened when Kizaru utilized his laser to get the job done, a pre-recorded message was put out to the entire world. Using the Navy ships, this message was transmitted to the entire world and all the people held their breath preparing for a massive revelation. The Five Elders arrived on Egghead to stop this announcement but failed and eventually, after 10 minutes were up, Vegapunk revealed the fact that the world of One Piece is going to sink.

This was a major revelation, however, it was not the only reveal that he did in this message. He also revealed that the world of One Piece is going to see a rise and water level of up to 1 meter. This is precisely what ended up happening after the destruction of Lulusia, and this ended up giving people proof of the fact that he knew what he was talking about. Vegapunk did not stop talking about things right there and then. He also went into deeper things, such as the events of the Void Century, and the existence of the Sun God, Nika.

Vegapunk Reveals The Existence Of The Sun God

In Vegapunk's message, which continued in One Piece chapter 1114, he revealed quite a lot of exciting things. Vegapunk mentioned that he has been studying Poneglyphs for quite a while now and that is his second and likely his biggest crime as well. As such, Vegapunk mentioned that he had found bits of information from here and there about the Void Century. Still, he did accept the fact that he still does not know enough. That said, Vegapunk did find out some bits of information here and there.

Just like the legendary Sun God Nika from the fables of Elbaf, he too fought with a stretchy and elastic body. They called him Joy Boy!

He talked about the existence of an incredibly advanced Kingdom that existed nearly 900 years ago in the One Piece world. This Kingdom is, as fans know, the Ancient Kingdom. Fans also know that 20 Kings banded together to fight against this Ancient Kingdom and utterly destroyed it. Given that the world of One Piece has seen a rise in water level before as well, the Ancient Kingdom has sunk under the ocean.

Coming back to the point, Vegapunk continued to talk about the Ancient Kingdom and also mentioned an individual from the ancient Kingdom, called the Sun God, Nika. He mentioned Nika as the Warrior of Liberation, and an individual who brings smiles to people's faces. He also said that Nika had a rubbery body and a fierce warrior spirit. Vegapunk mentioned that Nika hailed from the land of Elbaf, and that Joyboy was the first individual to set out to sea, making him the very first pirate in the history of the One Piece World.

Fans have only found out bits about Joy Boy over the years. However, One Piece chapter 1114 was massive in that regard. Vegapunk confirmed the fact that Joy Boy was indeed a real individual who existed in the Void Century and was from the Ancient Kingdom, which was destroyed around 800 years ago. He also mentioned that Joy Boy was linked directly to the land of the Giants, Elbaf. For the very first time, fans have a major hint at the race of Joy Boy, as he is now implied to be a Giant. This ties in very well with the massive Straw Hat that fans saw in Marijoa, and it clearly explains why the Sun God is revered so highly in the land of the Warriors, Elbaf.

At the same time, Vegapunk also revealed that this individual who hailed from the Ancient Kingdom , also known as Nika, was the first pirate ever and set out to sea on a grand adventure. Why exactly he set out to the seas on this adventure is not known. Perhaps, it was to accumulate allies, or it could have been because he was at war. Fans do not know the exact reasoning just yet. However, things are finally looking very exciting in the One Piece world and this revelation is going to shake the entire world of One Piece from the very top to the bottom.

With the existence of the race of Joy Boy , as well as the fact that he was the first pirate in existence, fans now have key information that they will be taking to the land of Elbaf, which Oda is going to be tackling next. Speaking of Elbaf, it was recently confirmed that the arc will be beginning at a later point in 2024, which means that this story is going to take yet another exciting turn very soon and fans will have tons of information being revealed to them all at once, as soon as the Straw Hat Pirates step foot on this land of the Giants.

Y ou may think you’ve seen it all in ‘One Piece’ , but you haven’t. There is one thing from the ABCs of piracy that Eiichiro Oda deliberately avoided. Because the mangaka has drawn peg-legged pirates like Zeff, Sanji’s mythical mentor in the Baratie, and his world has also welcomed parrots like the Bald Parrot and the DJ Parrot (or what’s better, pigeons playing the same role, like Hattori, Rob Lucci’s mascot ). But what about the eye-patched pirates? Where are the one-eyed crooks that the canon of the genre and the code of good (or bad) buccaneers dictate?

At the time, Eiichiro Oda came up with a much more interesting explanation than anyone could have imagined. Because no, it’s not an oversight or a lack of interest . The mangaka is saving the eye patch for a fundamental character of the end of ‘One Piece’.

“ In the final scenes of ‘One Piece’ , there is one pirate who appears with an eye patch. I’m itching to draw this character. I thought, if there’s an image in everyone’s head about what a pirate is, then I thought I would write/draw about the process of the boy getting there,” the artist explained years ago (in 2007, to be exact, although he recalled this in more recent statements).

Since then, everyone knows that the day the pirate appears in the eye, the end of ‘One Piece’ will be seen as a real threat and just around the corner . But who could this character be, and is there someone important left to introduce? This question has led many fans of the series to think that we already know the pirate with the patch, but not how he loses his eye.

Many take it for granted that it could be Luffy , something Oda himself seemed to play with in Wano by repeatedly injuring him in one eye (and which he even drew outside of the manga). Others cling to the first sketch of Blackbeard that Oda drew with a patch. And some believe in the fearsome and mysterious Rocks D. Xebec , about whom we know nothing, but whose presence begins to haunt the Mugiwara.

Only time will tell, but if the author feels like it, we don’t even want to tell you.

'Zillow Gone Wild' brings wacky real estate listings to HGTV

The real estate social media space is packed with influencers focusing on specific niches like luxury mansions , mid-century moderns or inexpensive yet promising fixer-uppers .

Within this crowded universe , Zillow Gone Wild is a place to go if you're in the market for, say, a home in Kansas City, Mo., shaped like a UFO ; a striking, angular residence in Kalamazoo, Mich., designed in the late 1940s by Frank Lloyd Wright; or a recently built cruise ship with close to 3,000 bedrooms. (Yes, there is an actual Zillow listing for this property.)

"Waking up to an ocean view in the actual ocean is the new best way to wake up," says Samir Mezrahi, Zillow Gone Wild 's creator, in his deadpan TikTok commentary on this particularly mind-boggling property listing.

Mezrahi's prominent account, which has several million followers across platforms, has now been spun off into an equally wild reality TV show . The nine-episode series premiered on HGTV Friday, and is out now on Max.

As on social media, the Zillow Gone Wild TV show is aimed at a general audience and focuses on homes that defy everyday expectations in some way — whether visible from the outside in the architecture, or hidden inside as part of the home decor.

"It has to be something we've pretty much never seen before," says Mezrahi, a former social media director at Buzzfeed , in an interview with NPR.

Setting a "wild" tone

The first segment of the first episode sets the tone: Homeowner Andrew Flair shows off the converted U.S. military missile launch facility in York, Neb. The unusual property has very thick steel doors and no windows.

"It's all underground, covered in concrete, and if, for some reason, a bomb goes off, you'll be safe," Flair says on the show.

And in episode three, homeowner Kitty Reign tours viewers around the Pirates of the Caribbean -themed residence in Las Vegas she's selling. This swashbuckler's paradise comes with a decorative wooden helm ("Everybody plays with it!") and a tavern ("Kind of our own little secret pirate nightclub!")

Hosted by comedian Jack McBrayer, who played Kenneth in 30 Rock , the show features 24 homes from around the country either up for sale or recently sold. But only one of them will be crowned the country's "wildest" at the end of the series, as assessed by HGTV executives. Viewers who correctly guess the winning home can enter a pool for the chance to win $25,000.

The judging criteria include creativity, commitment to a concept or theme and a quality McBrayer describes as "wackadoo."

"That special thing that sets this property apart," says McBrayer on the show. "We reward impracticality."

The growth of an American pastime

Ogling real estate listings on social media has become an enormously popular American pastime in recent years. Saturday Night Live even did a skit about the trend in 2021. ("The pleasure you once got from sex now comes from looking at other people's houses.")

Mezrahi, who's based in New York, says he has long made a hobby of idly browsing Zillow. He started Zillow Gone Wild as a side project in the fall of 2020, knowing it would probably catch on. Mezrahi initially launched it only on Instagram, but soon expanded his offering to Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and a newsletter.

"It was, like, prime pandemic. Everyone's working from home. Companies are saying you can live wherever you want," Mezrahi says. "So people are moving, thinking about moving, or browsing Zillow just as a bored-on-your-phone thing. So I kind of felt like there was an audience of people out there that are also doing this."

The rise of TV and online channels devoted to home buying and home improvement, together with the increasingly elaborate social media presence of individual real estate brokers promoting their listings, have further fed the trend.

"This is a time when a lot of people are thinking about where and how we want to live," says Zillow's home trends expert, Amanda Pendleton, in an interview with NPR. "And these social media accounts captured our imagination and redefined what a home can be."

"Wild" listings can be challenging for real estate brokers

That "imagination capturing" quality is what makes Zillow Gone Wild so compelling on TikTok and TV.

But when it comes to actually selling a property, eccentric architecture and festive home decor aren't necessarily virtues.

"As a real estate broker, you kind of get nervous about that, because the resale value is not the greatest when you're making it your own," says San Francisco Bay Area-based realtor Ria Cotton in an interview with NPR. "It may not be liked by other people."

While having a marketable property is preferable, Cotton admits the popularity of social media accounts like Zillow Gone Wild shows there's a growing appetite among homebuyers and potential homebuyers for the "wackadoo."

"I think more and more people are kind of bored of the cookie-cutter way of doing things," Cotton says.

Case in point: An unusual music-themed home in Berkeley, Calif., that Cotton recently brokered, featured in Zillow Gone Wild.

The facade of the "Saxophone House" is dominated by two massive, gold saxophone-shaped columns. On the TV show, new homeowner Adanté Pointer proudly shows off the gold treble clef ornaments on the balcony railings indoors.

"The gold accents really make it stand out," Pointer says appreciatively.

The smooth jazz vibes and bling of the Saxophone House might not be for everyone. But Pointer says it's perfect for him.

"I am an attorney, and oftentimes, people come to me to make a statement on their behalf," he says on the show. "And when you look at the outside of this home, it's definitely a statement piece."

In an interview with NPR, TV show host McBrayer says if visiting all of the homes featured in the Zillow Gone Wild TV series taught him anything, it's that even the wildest of homes won't sit empty forever.

"For every house out there that is just head-to-toe rainbow-colored, there is going to be a buyer. For every home that is attached to the underside of a bridge, there's going to be a buyer," McBrayer says. "There's a lid for every pot."
