The tour was officially announced by their company, SM Entertainment on October 15, 2015 with two dates in Seoul, Olympics Gymnastics Arena. This tour made Girls' Generation the fist KPOP girl group to have four concert tours. 

On August 11, 2015, Girls' Generation announced that their  4th Japn Tour will start on December 2015 with six dates in Nagoya, Kobe, and  Saitama. On November 17, 2015, it was announced on their official Japanese fanclub website that there will be a separate tour titled "Girls' Generation 4th Tour-Phantasia- in Japan". The tour was directed by choreographer Rino Nakasone.

As of October 2016, the tour became the 6th highest grossing girl groups concert tours of all time, generating $22.3 million.

Sunny expresses her gratitude towards Girls’ Generation following “PHANTASIA in Seoul” concert

Girls’ Generation has officially completed the beginning of their upcoming Asia tour,  PHANTASIA in Seoul , this weekend.

On November 23rd, member Sunny took to her Instagram to express her gratitude towards her members, posting a group photo of the group holding fan signs that read “Thank you, my Girls’ Generation.”

In her post, she wrote,  ” I couldn’t have done it without you…thank you my Girls’ Generation… I love my members.”

Meanwhile, after an eventful year preparing for their Korean comeback and returning with a high this summer, Girls’ Generation kick started their fourth tour,  GIRLS’ GENERATION 4th TOUR – Phantasia-in SEOUL, on November 22nd at the Olympic Park Gymnastic Stadium in Seoul.
