WHY TRAVEL WITH ANDERSON TOURS LLC! The answer is simple; your experience! At Anderson Tours, we take your experience seriously. We understand the sacred and delicate nature of visiting holy sites on an organized tour. So much of your experience depends on the attitudes, philosophies and motivations of the people organizing the tour and those directing the experience. At Anderson Tours, our mission statement is... . Alma 36:24; “Yea, and from that time even until now, I have labored without ceasing, that I might bring souls unto repentance; that I might bring them to taste of the exceeding joy of which I did taste; that they might also be born of God, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.” . This verse describes beautifully the reasons Anderson Tours came to be and the desires it embraces. Anderson Tours’ whole intent is for each traveler to be edified by the Spirit and draw closer to our Creator. This driving philosophy is evident in everything we do. Above all else, Anderson Tours does not cut corners on your experience! It is possible that other companies offer similar travel options as Anderson Tours. However, after comparing the itineraries it is clear that no other tours can compete with what you will get for your money when you travel with us. Other companies may cut corners to save money and bring costs down. Sadly, the experience you could have also gets cut when this is done. At Anderson Tours, your experience is paramount. Because we understand that your trip with us may be the only time you will get to visit these sites, we give you the best experience possible at every one. Although this may not be the most convenient or cost effective for the company, it is top on our list of priorities—to help make your Anderson Tours experience the best. Second, our experience enhances your experience! Not only do the directors at Anderson tours have experience with the historical sites, but also with the scriptures. Because of this, our directors can do more than provide you with a list of interesting facts about the places you visit. Many of our tour directors have devoted their lives to teaching principles from the standard works, and they know how to help you bring the scriptures to life at each site. After returning home your scripture study will be greatly enhanced as you recount principles, feelings, and memories that you experienced while studying the scriptures with us. It is no wonder that with Anderson Tours you will constantly be reminded, “Don’t Forget to Bring Your Scriptures!” Finally, the memories you will create with Anderson Tours will last a lifetime. The places that you see will become cherished thoughts, as well as the friendships made with your fellow tour participants. Our 2009 tours can be viewed by clicking on the pictures on the left-hand side of this page. Please email us your comments and questions! [email protected] We look forward to traveling with you and your friends and family on our upcoming tours!

AUG/SEPT 2024

Holy land tour, aug/sept 2024 holy land tour, aug 29—sept 8th, 2024, (extension options thru june 15th to jordan, egypt, & rome) directors: dr. clark d. anderson edd  price for israel: $3,495.

Day 1-2 (Thurs & Fri Aug 29-30th): FLY FROM USA to TEL AVIV Today we fly from the USA to Tel Aviv. When we arrive we will go directly to the Mount of Olives for a view of ‘the Golden City’. We overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 3 (Sat Aug 31st): JERUSALEM CENTER / MT OF OLIVES (BETHESDA) This morning we enjoy Church Services at the remarkable BYU Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies. The view of Jerusalem during our Service is inspiring. On our way to lunch we will wander down the Mt. of Olives and pass thousands of Jewish graves, including those of the Biblical Prophets; Haggai, Zechariah, & Malachi. We make a brief stop at the ‘Teardrop Church’ and then enjoy lunch in a unique local place near the Old City. We will then visit St. Anne’s which is the ancient site for the Pool of Bethesda. As we make our way back to the hotel we will be introduced to the shopkeeper that makes LDS scripture covers, necklaces, etc. and after dinner those interested can peruse olive wood carvings from the shopkeepers who have been making LDS Olive Wood pieces for over 30 years. We enjoy a relaxed evening and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 4 (Sun Sept 1st): BEGINNINGS: BETHLEHEM / (TEMPLE MOUNT / MUSEUMS) Our morning begins with a visit to the place where Jews believe is the Center of the Universe and where the Spirit of the Lord resides with a visit to the Tunnels at the Western Wall and the Temple Mount. We view the Dome of the Rock, the Wailing Wall, etc. and discuss the past, present and future of that significant site for all three major religions: Jews, Muslims, & Christians. Next we will visit the unique historical museums in Jerusalem. The Israeli Museum displays the Dead Sea Scrolls and also features the very impressive miniature model of the city of Jerusalem in Christ’s day; The Model City. We conclude our museum visits with the sobering Holocaust Museum, Yad Vashem. Time permitting we will enjoy the sights and sounds of Jerusalem by walking on the Old City Walls of Jerusalem on the Rampart. Next we will cross through ‘The Wall’ (20’ cement wall that separates Israel and Palestinian controlled land) and visit the traditional birthplace of the Savior in Bethlehem (Church of the Nativity). We conclude our day by visiting a local Shepherds’ Field near Bethlehem where we will review the account of the humble beginnings of the Saviors Life. In this setting we will review the Saviors Birth as well as consider Jesus as the ‘Good Shepherd’. We again overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 5 (Mon Sept 2nd): JESUS/MARY AS A TEENAGERS: NAZARETH (CAESAREA) Today we consider Jesus and Mary during their teenage years as we visit Nazareth and the surrounding areas. We will drive up north and our first stop features the beautiful Mediterranean Sea and represents the spot where the first Gentile convert joined the Church and the Gospel spread to the world. Paul was imprisoned for 2 years here and also departed for his 4 historic missionary journeys. We will view the ancient theater and aqueducts before making our way north to Mount Carmel. On Mt. Carmel is a great view of the Jezreel Valley (Valley of Armageddon). From this vantage point we will discuss Armageddon, the 2nd Coming and the future of this Holy Land as well as reenact the remarkable story of Elijah and the Priests of Baal. Following lunch, near Carmel, we travel to Nazareth and from Mount Precipice we will have an amazing view of Nazareth, Mt Tabor and the surrounding area. We conclude our day with a visit to the Nazareth Village which will give a glimpse into 1st century life. We will overnight in the Nazareth area.

Day 6 (Tues Sept 3rd): BEATITUDES / PETER’S PRIMACY / MAGDALA / YARDENIT Today we spend our day seeing the sights and sounds surrounding the Sea of Galilee. We begin with a visit to a beautiful overlook of the Sea of Galilee on Mount Arbel. Next we visit the Mount of Beatitudes where the Sermon on the Mount was delivered. Lunch is a unique experience where those interested can enjoy St. Peter’s Fish. Next we visit Peter’s Primacy where we will discuss John 21. This afternoon we will visit Magdala (birthplace of Mary Magdalene) followed by Yardenit at the Jordan River (Jesus’ traditional baptismal site). We then drive around the Sea of Galilee to our Hotel. Checking into our Hotel this evening is a joy. Every room is only steps away from the shore of the Sea of Galilee. This evening you can enjoy a quiet, relaxing evening strolling on the Sea shores, or taking a dip in the Sea, etc.

Day 7 (Wed Sept 4th): JESUS’ MINISTRY: SEA OF GALILEE / CAPERNAUM / DAN Today we explore more of the Galilee area where Jesus spent the majority of His ministry as well as some other significant scriptural sites. Our first adventure of the day is boarding a small fishing boat and crossing the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum. On our way we cut the engines & have a short discussion. On shore we’ll visit Capernaum. Next we will drive to the very north border of Israel where we will look over into Lebanon and Syria. We will enjoy a short nature hike to view the ancient city and alter at Tel Dan. Our next stop is at Banias, the ancient site of Caesarea Philippi, where Peter was promised to receive the Keys of the Kingdom and is declares as ‘the Rock’. As we bus our way home we will travel on the Golan Heights where we can look over into Syria.

Day 8 (Thurs Sept 5th): JESUS’ FINAL DAYS: BETHANY (LAZARU’S TOMB / DEAD SEA) Today we visit and consider the events leading up to the death of the Savior and the final days of His mortal ministry. As we make our way back to Jerusalem we pass through the Green Line and parts of the West Bank and will take this opportunity to discuss the current political situation, borders, and history. As we pass Bet She’an we will consider the ‘Fall of Saul’. We drive by Jericho and then make a stop at the Jordan River (Children of Israel River Crossing and Jesus’ baptismal site). Following lunch we will enjoy a quick visit to Qumran (discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls) and also have the unique experience of taking a float in the Dead Sea. You cannot sink! From here we make our way up to Jerusalem. We will visit Bethany and Lazarus’ Tomb and conclude our day with a unique walk through the flowing waters in Hezekiah’s Tunnel. We overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 9 (Fri Sept 6th): JESUS’ FINAL HOURS: (THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST!) Today is one of our most significant as we venture through the wonders of the ‘Eternal City’ and retrace the events and sites of the final moments of the Saviors Life! We begin in the Upper Room where the Savior held the Last Supper. From here we trace His steps to the Garden of Gethsemane (Church of all Nations). We next visit Caiaphas’ Palace (St. Peter of Gallicantu) where Jesus went before the Sanhedrin and where Peter allegedly denied Christ thrice. Following lunch we enjoy a stop at the Antonio Fortress (Jesus before Pilate) and from here we will follow the Via Dolorosa (or Path of Suffering), the path Jesus carried His cross to Golgotha. Next we will reflect on the burial & resurrection of the Savior as we visit the two possible sites for Golgotha & Calvary. First we visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher [believed site for many Christians] and then the Garden Tomb [where others feel is the true site]. We will discuss the crucifixion and resurrection of the Savior and the majesty of the final moments of His mortal ministry! This evening those interested will view how the orthodox Jews bring in the Sabbath at the Western Wall. We overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 10 (Sat Sept 7th): MT OF OLIVES / MASADA Today we conclude our tour with one final visit to the Mount of Olives. From the Mt of Olives Jesus officially concluded His mortal ministry on that continent (Acts 1) and fittingly we will in similar fashion conclude our visits here as well. Following our Mt of Olives visit those who would like will depart Jerusalem and go “down by the borders near the shore of the Red Sea” (1 Nephi 2:5) just as Lehi and his family. As we do so we will be traveling on the road from “Jerusalem to Jericho” and will reflect on a certain parable (Luke 10). On the way we pass Qumran (discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls) and stop for a picture of the natural spring and waterfall at Ein-Gedi (where David hid from King Saul) and where we most always see ibex. We visit the majestic Masada and gondola to the top and reflect on its remarkable story. From here the group will divide; those continuing on will head southward and cross the border into Jordan (see below). Those returning home will make their way to the airport in Tel Aviv and begin their journey home.

We booked a trip to bath and Stonehenge through Anderson Tours. It started rough - they were an hour and half late for pick up and didn't reach out to anyone. Some of the people waiting called after 20 minutes and were told the bus was stuck in traffic. When it showed up people were on it already and it appears they agreed to do individual pick ups, versus getting everyone from main spot. As there website does offer this option, I think this is a normal occurrence, which then puts the bus in london traffic and makes them run late. There was a second group being picked up for another trip at same location and by time our bus showed up their bus was already running 40 minutes late. It isn't cool, as it effects the trip. We were told we would get extra time at end in bath, but we still lost an hour and a lot of the stores were closing/closed while we were in bath. Other problems included our guide not reminding anyone about the Stonehenge app we were supposed to use there, which would have been nice. The trip itself is fine - Stonehenge is interesting and bath is nice.

We recently toured Avebury, Stonehenge and West Kennet. Branden, our guide, was exceptional. It was nice walking around Avebury and the community as well as Stonehenge. We hiked up to the West Kennet Long Barrow and burial mounds in the area. I asked about the White Horse and Branden said we could go a back way to London and see it. It was a real highlight! We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our day. Many thanks to Branden.

SPOT-ON CUSTOMER SERVICE Unfortunately I fell ill and had to cancel my West Kennet/Avebury/Stonehenge tour. But every step of the way, everyone I interacted with was just fantastic -- interacting with them was a real pleasure. The refund (which they arguably might have gotten sticky about) was even lickety-split, once the hubbub was past. Oh, and this is all after the combining of too-small tours three days before, such that I would have ended up with a free upgrade, which was pretty cool. ;) I am so, so grateful for them being so great with me, especially between being under the weather and /very/ disappointed. I really look forward to getting to actually be on one of their tours in the future!

It sounds like I had a pretty similar experience to a lot of the other reviewers here - a late tour. From what it sounds like, Anderson Tours needs to stop using "London traffic" as an excuse. If they know there's going to be traffic, then they should probably leave earlier. Common sense. My friends and I arrived at 7:15 for the 7:30 pick-up at Earl's Court for the Stonehenge/Bath day tour. The bus was two hours late. TWO HOURS. When the bus finally arrived, it was pretty much packed. There was also a lot of confusion between which people booked the tours with the included ticket entry to the Roman Baths, and which people did not. They then had to shuffle people around between two buses and finally figured it out. Then, there was a couple who belonged on the last two seats on our bus. However, the two seats were not located next to each other, so they refused to get on, until a random person gave up her seat for them. As for the tour, we had less time than we should have probably had at each location. Stonehenge was unimpressive, as there were just so many tourists there all having to walk along a narrow pathway to view the stones, that we felt like cattle being herded. Bath was a nice trip. I would recommend forgoing a bus tour, and taking the train directly there from London and doing your own day trip at your leisure.

We did the Inner Access Stonehenge tour using Anderson Tours. It was the best. Despite my wife having walking limitations, the staff were accommodating and helped her out with wheelchair access when we arrived at Stonehenge. During the portions of the tour where we had to walk, they made sure that we were ok. Cliff and Manon were helpful and informative. Very pleasant. Loved walking between the large stones of Stonehenge. We did get to use the highway stop for toilet use on the way, and toilet use at the available places including at the Stonehenge visitors area. Planned our London trip dates based on getting access to the inner circle, and glad we did. Would recommend them for this tour.

We had a very pleasant tour today with Anderson. We booked the Bath and Stonehenge tour (including the Roman Baths, not the bargain tour). We were very pleased. The trip did not cost much more than a rail ticket to the area. Because February in London is the offseason, the tour was very small. This was actually very nice as we could stretch out very easily. We also got the benefit of some wonderful commentary while traveling the countryside. Our tour guide was Catia. She was all you can ask for in a tour guide. Very pleasant, knowledgeable, humorous and extremely helpful. I served as a tour guide myself years ago and can tell when someone has spent time preparing for a tour. My wife and I both enjoyed the trip and are very glad we chose a tour over making the trek via train on our own. Based on today's experience, I would highly recommend Anderson.

I would recommend this company to anyone looking to leave London for a day. I had plenty of time to wonder around & discover; I did not want a full guide all day, only suggestions & overviews, so this was the ideal experience for me. The staff was very friendly & helpful, especially when I missed the tour at my original pick up spot. They went above & beyond giving me path to catching the bus at final stop, and waited. The bus was very clean & comfortable & very safe driver

We had the unpleasant experience of taking the day trip with Anderson Tours to Stonehenge & Bath from London, led by the tour guide, Mark. Mark was extremely rude and dismissive of our concerns, including our complaint of the inaudible acoustics in the tour bus, which left 75% of his commentary unintelligible to the average listener. Further, Mark never gave clear instructions on the timing and process throughout the tour, which left us very confused. The tour ran 30 minutes late in the beginning of the day, so instead of leaving at 9am, we didn't leave until 9:30. Consequently, we didn't get to spend much time in Stonehenge and missed valuable time at the visitors center. The visit to Bath was lovely, but there was a roughly 15 minute processing delay for the entire tour group because we were told by Mark that we had only paid for the 'bargain tour' and could not join the tour to the Roman baths. Fortunately, I took screen shots of our confirmation code, but Mark was incredibly rude and questioned us on two different occasions front of the entire tour group, which felt humiliating. The entire group had to wait in the cold while Mark attempted to sort out the confusion. We felt as if Mark handled the situation very poorly and unprofessionally, and we would dissuade anyone from taking Anderson/viator tours in the future. Caution: The buses do not have toilets or wifi! We drove for 2:45 minutes without a bathroom stop!

Here's the thing, I've never actually taken a tour from Anderson Tours. But I've booked 2 of them... So how does this review work? Well, back when I was living in London (1997) I booked a tour to go to Bruges for the Christmas Market. It was a great price, short day trip, and a nice way to spend an afternoon Christmas shopping for family. The problem however, was that I woke up that morning with a 101F fever... Nope, not going. But what was really nice is that the bus driver called to make sure I wasn't just running behind and should he wait a few minutes for me. 4 stars there. But then on my last trip (about 6 months ago, Yes I'm STILL catching up on reviews) I booked a trip to Stonehenge since I was ashamed that after living in England for 2 years I'd never been there. Again, good price, good timing but then...They called hours before my tour was supposed to leave to cancel. They were willing to reschedule me, but I was now a tourist, and leaving the next day. I understand canceling trips (and they did give me a full refund), but it was the timing of it. Because they waited until the last minute, I couldn't make any alternate plans. Definitely a 2 star feeling there. I'm evening that out to 3 stars but I'm not sure if I'd book through them again. That last minute cancellation just left a bad taste in my mouth and I don't really want that to happen again on my next trip.

My mother and I booked the Stonehenge and Bath tour on the 15th of january. We were the first pick up location at London Bridge. Our coach was supposed to pick us up at 7:30 and as recommended we we where at the bus stop by 7:15. AS 7:30 came and went with no tour bus in sight i called the number provided with no answer. The entire time we were waiting a woman was also sitting at the stop waiting, but i hadn't asked her yet if she was also waiting for the tour. I saw an anderson coach approach, but it continued driving past us. When it stopped at a light i approached the coach and showed him my booking papers and he waved me off. Once i got back to the stop i called again, it was about 7:40 at this point still no answer. At the point i asked the other woman sitting at the stop if she was waiting for the tour to Stonehenge too. She ignored me at first and i asked her again thinking maybe she didn't hear me to which she replied yeah, I'm the guide, theres traffic, thats why the driver is not here yet. It was obvious that we were waiting for the tour as we were talking about it, discussed me calling the company right next to her, it would've been good for her to mention hey I'm your guide, don't worry about the bus, it'll be here soon. I understand that traffic is an issue, especially on business days in the morning rush hour, but since there are tours running everyday, you would think the company would have taken this into consideration. There were more stops that needed to be made, and not once was there an apology issued to anyone for the lateness. As we learned our tour guides name is Kristina. She seemed miserable and very unhappy to be there or with her job. She mentioned how she hoped for a transfer to Australia, and for Australia's sake i hope that she doesn't get it. She is a terrible guide. As the coach was driving through the city she didn't bother pointing out the neighborhoods or the monuments and parks as we passed by. the only time she said anything on the microphone was to complain. Her big contribution to the trip was that the people of the late 17th and 18th century had very poor hygiene and most likely smelled awful. On our return to London there was traffic yet again, and the driver had hit his 4 hour mark so everyone was forced off the bus wether it was their stop or not. I understand safe driving operations, however it makes me think what would have happened if the traffic lasted longer, would the driver had pulled off the road near a train station and made everyone find their own way back. WE also stopped for 15 minutes on our return from Bath at a rest stop, so I find it odd that the driver kept insisting that insisting that he can't drive for 4 hours straight without a 15 minute rest. I had booked the independent style tours knowing that we would be independent once we got to the locations, however i didn't expect the guide to be so miserable and awful at her job, She did not share any of London's history to a bus full of tourists. She should really reconsider her career choices, and the company should evaluate how good she is at her job. Stonehenge and Bath themselves were beautiful, but if i had known how terrible of a guide she would be and how awful the bus service was i would've rented a car on my own and purchased my tickets on site for a much better price.

Moscow Metro 2019

anderson tours llc

Will it be easy to find my way in the Moscow Metro? It is a question many visitors ask themselves before hitting the streets of the Russian capital. As metro is the main means of transport in Moscow – fast, reliable and safe – having some skills in using it will help make your visit more successful and smooth. On top of this, it is the most beautiful metro in the world !

. There are over 220 stations and 15 lines in the Moscow Metro. It is open from 6 am to 1 am. Trains come very frequently: during the rush hour you won't wait for more than 90 seconds! Distances between stations are quite long – 1,5 to 2 or even 3 kilometers. Metro runs inside the city borders only. To get to the airport you will need to take an onground train - Aeroexpress.

RATES AND TICKETS

Paper ticket A fee is fixed and does not depend on how far you go. There are tickets for a number of trips: 1, 2 or 60 trips; or for a number of days: 1, 3 days or a month. Your trips are recorded on a paper ticket. Ifyou buy a ticket for several trips you can share it with your traveling partner passing it from one to the other at the turnstile.

1 day - 230 RUB 3 days - 438 RUB 30 days - 2170 RUB.

The cheapest way to travel is buying Troyka card . It is a plastic card you can top up for any amount at the machine or at the ticket office. With it every trip costs 38 RUB in the metro and 21 RUB in a bus. You can get the card in any ticket office. Be prepared to leave a deposit of 50 RUB. You can get it back returning the card to the cashier.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
  • The interval in the movement of trains in rush hour is  90 seconds .
