The Ultimate Guide to Visiting the Arsenal Stadium Tours

Arsenal stadium tours ultimate guide.

From tours hosted by famous football legends to a self-guided audio tour so you can walk around Emirates Stadium at your own pace, it’s no secret why the Arsenal Stadium Tour has become such a popular tourist activity for sports fans in London.

The origins of the Arsenal Football Club can be traced all the way back to 1886, but throughout its history, the team has gone through many name and location changes. Arsenal FC only recently moved to the Emirates Stadium in Holloway in 2006, which was the same year the stadium was officially opened to the public.

The Emirates Stadium has 60,260 seats and cost a whopping £390 million to complete. The stadium is also home to the Arsenal Museum, which boasts two video theatres, and 20 massive displays centered around Arsenal FC’s history.

Arsenal Stadium Tours Highlights

There are three different Arsenal Stadium Tours to choose from which include:

  • The Stadium Self-Guided Audio Tour – where visitors can walk around the Emirates Stadium at their own pace using audio-visual guide handsets. The guide is narrated by Arsenal legends Lee Dixon, Charlie George or Nigel Mitchell, and will lead you to the Directors’ Box, both the home and away changing rooms, the Players’ Tunnel, the Pitchside and much more. Also included in the tour is a set of branded Arsenal headphones and a tour certificate.
  • The Legends Tour – which are led by former Arsenal players including Charlie George, Nigel Winterburn and Perry Groves. During the tour, the Legends will lead you around the Emirates Stadium, answer any of your questions about their time playing for the Arsenal Football Club, and even give their two cents about the current team.
  • The Match Day Tour – where visitors can take a tour around Emirates Stadium hours before a match, which includes visits to the Directors Box, the Pitchside, the Home Dugout, the Diamond Club, the Press Conference Room, and much, much more. However, visitors will not be allowed to access either the home or away changing rooms or the Players’ Tunnel (for obvious reasons).

It was described by Arsene Wenger as "the biggest decision in Arsenal's history".

In 2002, relocation plans began and four years later, the club had a new home.

On the site of what was once an old waste disposal estate in Ashburton Grove now stands The Emirates Stadium - a state-of-the-art facility, fit for a club at the higher echelons of the game.

Throughout the 2009/2010 campaign, an "Arsenalisation" project began with the intention of connecting the club's storied past with it's exciting future.

Among the changes was the striking imagery of 32 Arsenal greats "embracing" the 60,000 seater ground.

This - along with the statues of former greats Tony Adams, Thierry Henry and Herbert Chapman - are among just some of the sights that attract thousands through the stadium's doors on both matchdays and non-matchdays alike.

Below is everything you need to know about Arsenal's Emirates Stadium tour.

How do I book my place?

The Stadium Tour, Matchday Tour, Legend Tour and VIP Legend Experience are all available to buy on the official Arsenal website .

If you’re a fan of Arsenal FC, attending a match is one of the best ways to get close to the action and see the team perform live in person.

Stadium tours are another way to learn and experience even more about Arsenal, and this post covers every tour offered at Emirates Stadium.

The Arsenal FC Flag. Image source: Pixabay user jorono.

Their main tour is included on multiple discount passes, and they also offer VIP tours which are led by legendary Arsenal players.

Each tour includes access to the Arsenal Museum, a personalized tour certificate, and more.

While there are some short matchday tours that last only 20 minutes long, most tour options are between 1-2 hours in length.

In addition to covering each stadium tour option in detail, this post will also provide information about how to get there and deals you can use to save up to 50% off tickets.

Emirates Stadium Tours and Tickets

There are currently four different tours offered at Emirates Stadium, including both a matchday tour and a VIP experience. Prices start at just £15, and you can enjoy this activity most days of the week.

Arsenal Stadium Tour

This is the standard tour offered at Emirates Stadium, and it provides self-guided access to some of the most notable locations in the arena.

Visitors can expect to see attractions such as the director’s box, the player’s entrance and tunnel, dressing rooms, the press conference room, and even Pitchside!

Everyone who takes this tour will receive an audio guide with commentary from legends such as Charlie George, Lee Dixon, and Nigel Mitchell.

You’ll have the opportunity to listen to this audio tour on a free pair of Arsenal earphones. Admission to the Arsenal Museum and a personalized tour certificate are also included with purchase.

As if all of that weren’t enough, every ticket is valid for up to 3 months, so you don’t even have to worry about booking a date or time to visit!

  • £27/Adults | £18/Children (5-15)
  • £22/Concession (Seniors, Students, Disabled)
  • Free for children under the age of 5
  • Purchase tickets or learn more .

TIP: This tour is included at no extra cost with the London Pass and the Explorer Pass .

Legend Tour

If you’re interested in a more personalized guided tour, this option includes everything from the standard self-guided service along with a 90-minute tour hosted by one of three legends: Charlie George, Perry Groves, or Nigel Winterburn.

Everyone who takes the Legend Tour at Emirates Stadium will receive a photo opportunity with their star and a signed photograph. You’ll also receive a free Arsenal lanyard!

Availability depends on when each Arsenal legend is available, and most tours take place on weekends at either 11 am or 1 pm.

  • £50/Adults | £30/Children (5-15)
  • £40/Concession (Seniors, Students, Disabled)

VIP Legend Experience

This is the most exclusive experience available at Emirates Stadium, and it’s essentially a half-day activity. The tour itself is 4 hours in length, and it’s hosted by both the legend of your choice and pitchside commentator Nigel Mitchell.

In addition to all the behind-the-scenes locations included on other tours, the VIP Legend Experience also offers access to the TV studios where they broadcast the games live from on-site at Emirates Stadium.

Since the tour is so long, it also includes a nice buffet lunch with unlimited wine, beer, soft drinks and more in the Diamond Club. This isn’t your average buffet, either – the food is prepared by a 2 star Michelin chef!

Visitors can also expect one-on-one time with their legend of choice, during which time they will receive a photo opportunity and signing session.

You’ll also get a signed Arsenal lanyard, a premium gift bag, entry to the Arsenal Museum, a guidebook, and a personalized tour certificate.

The VIP Legend Experience is only available for adults over the age of 16. Tickets can sell out several months in advance, so we recommend checking back frequently to make sure you don’t miss out on this opportunity.

  • £325 per person
  • Purchase the VIP Legend Experience or learn more .

Matchday Tour

As the name implies, these tours are only offered on matchdays, and they’re a bit more limited in scope (60 min) as a result of the limited time available for behind-the-scenes activities on these days.

That said, if you’re already planning to arrive at the stadium early, this could be a good way to pass the time before the match begins.

The following tour types are available as matchday tours:

  • Whistlestop (20 min)

There are also early bird prices available for those who take the earliest tours (9:20 am).

Here are the prices for each matchday tour at Emirates Stadium:

Here are the closest stations and stops for all public transit options:

Mikel Arteta takes a walk on the Allianz Arena pitch

Arsenal arrive in Munich with destiny and opportunity still in their hands

Sunday’s defeat by Aston Villa has added jeopardy, and Mikel Arteta knows ousting Bayern will take some doing

A rsenal landed in a gusty Munich aiming to show they have not been blown off course. A week is a long time in football and it was only last Tuesday, when Mikel Arteta’s players emerged for their first leg to a rapturous reception at the Emirates, that they were being favoured to dethrone a wobbly Bayern Munich . The picture has clouded since then and there is a sense of being caught between absolutes when the rematch kicks off on Wednesday night.

If Arsenal overcome their depleted hosts, they will have achieved an outcome for the ages and can savour a first Champions League semi-final since 2009. Should Bayern make home advantage and elite-level lineage count, those hovering to sound the death knell on their season will form an orderly queue. At this point of a campaign the lightest breeze can resemble a hurricane, as was amply shown by the reaction to Aston Villa’s victory in north London on Sunday.

Is everything really on the line for Arsenal in Bavaria, where Bayern tend to step out with a strut whatever the prevailing conditions? Dwelling on that notion would mean raking back over the possible consequences of the painful defeat by Aston Villa and Arteta had no interest in that. “Throw the game away, the one we played a few days ago,” he said. “Because regardless of that result, it is going to have no impact on what’s going to happen tomorrow.”

Lumbering any negative baggage into the Allianz Arena would surely be fatal for Arsenal. Arteta was asked whether the looming spectre of last April, when their title chase collapsed shortly after defeat by Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League, may play on minds given the damage sustained on Sunday. It seems slightly unfair to draw direct parallels: for one thing, Arsenal are patently competing strongly in the last eight of the Champions League even if the pursuit of Manchester City feels ominously familiar. But the narrative will swirl if they falter here and the manager admitted there is no surefire way of protecting his players from the noise.

“I cannot control that,” he said. “I cannot take their phones and TVs away, or the people around them. We didn’t lose anything last year because we didn’t win anything. First of all you have to win it and then you can lose it. What we had was an unbelievable journey against the best team in the world. We are not satisfied, we want to be better and that’s the level we are competing with.”

Bukayo Saka about to go down after contact with Manuel Neuer

For all the omens, good or bad, there is little reason to play Arsenal’s chances down. Even if nobody in their camp will say it, the absences of Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman and Alphonso Davies should hamstring Bayern’s offensive power significantly. Nothing about  last week’s offering suggested chances will be impossible to come by at the other end. Plenty has been made of the visitors’ relative inexperience but they have shown this season, at Anfield and the Etihad, that they are able to shapeshift their way to results at previously impenetrable citadels.

“There are lots of things we can do to write our story very differently tomorrow,” Arteta said. “I want my team to be themselves regardless of the stadium.” He did, though, dangle the caveat that Bayern may force them into contingencies. They may not be able to rip into Thomas Tuchel’s side as they did early on in north London, taking the lead and threatening briefly to run away with it; they will need to show the resilience that earned a point at City, rather than the defensive carelessness that has resurfaced in their last two outings. A chess match and burning of the midnight oil cannot be ruled out.

Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard trained on Tuesday and should both be fit to start. Arteta would hardly have wanted injury problems of his own and his biggest quandary may lie at left-back, where Jakub Kiwior struggled in the first meeting and Oleksandr Zinchenko toiled to audible disapproval from the home crowd against Villa. Perhaps Takehiro Tomiyasu would be the soundest option against a Bayern side that retain a potentially match‑winning threat out wide.

after newsletter promotion

Should Arsenal prevail it will be their most significant result in Europe since the 2-0 win over Milan, whose old guard were creaking but nonetheless entered the tie as competition holders, in the 2007-08 last 16. Perhaps that, more than anything, demonstrates the line between feast and famine that they tread in Munich. The consequences could be transformative and Arteta was happy to jump on that particular piece of hype.

“Absolutely, it would be unbelievable,” he said. “If we make it happen tomorrow and we’re in the semi-final, we’ll be in a really high emotional state with something that we haven’t achieved in 15 years. That’s the opportunity.” Arsenal have their chance to shape the weather.

Liverpool has confirmed another pre-season friendly fixture in the USA this summer, with the Reds set to take on the Spanish outfit Real Betis in Pittsburgh. Under a new manager who will take over from Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool is set to head to the US for the first time in five years.

The US trip, which already included matches against Manchester United and Arsenal, was confirmed in February. The last time that Liverpool headed Stateside was the summer of 2019, just after the Reds had become European champions for the sixth time. Since then, a combination of Covid and then commercial opportunities in Asia have meant that they have not gone back until now.

In 2019, Liverpool played against Borussia Dortmund , Sevilla and Sporting CP in New York, Boston and Indiana. The Reds played on the west coast of the US during Klopp's first summer in charge back in 2016 with friendly fixtures against Chelsea , AC Milan and AS Roma.

This time, Liverpool was already confirmed to be playing Arsenal on Wednesday, July 31 in Philadelphia and then Manchester United in South Carolina on Saturday, August 3, meaning the Reds are staying on the east coast of the US. Now, the extra game has been penciled in for Friday, July 26.

The match against Real Betis will be staged at the Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. The new manager will also be able to use the time in the US to continue preparations for the new season on the training field.

"Adding Pittsburgh to our pre-season tour schedule is a great way to start our eagerly anticipated return to the USA," Ben Latty, the club's commercial director, said, via the official website . "We were delighted to quickly sell out our fixtures against Arsenal and Manchester United on this tour and are equally excited to be able to offer our supporters in the States another opportunity to see Liverpool FC play. Real Betis will come with a strong squad and it's going to be a great occasion in another iconic setting, in another fantastic US city."

"We are proud to announce our highly anticipated return to the USA providing a great environment for the squad to prepare for the season ahead," Latty said via the club's official website in February. "Pre-season tours always present exceptional opportunities for our supporters, the team and our official partners to engage in memorable experiences within a key focus market for the club."

The 2024/25 season in the Premier League will kick off on the weekend of August 17 and 18. The fixture list is usually published a few weeks after the prior campaign has come to a close. Liverpool will hope to begin life under a new head coach as league champion, with the Reds currently level on points with Arsenal at the top of the table with seven matches left to play.

Liverpool.com says: A return to the US will be big news for fans in America after so long without the chance to see the Reds on home soil. It will be a very different summer for Liverpool, of course, without Klopp in charge. There is also the impact of the European Championship in Germany to consider.

That tournament takes place from mid-June to mid-July so there is a good chance that a number of players involved in that will not be traveling to the US. They might need an extended break in what looks set to be another packed close season in which the majority of stars get very little in the way of a proper rest.

Five things we noticed as Arsenal team train ahead of Europa League quarter-final clash with CSKA Moscow

The Gunners will take on the Russian giants in the first leg of their quarter-final clash at the Emirates on Thursday

Arsenal play host to Russian giants CSKA Moscow in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday night.

Arsene Wenger will be looking for his men to get off to a good start so that they can take a commanding lead to Moscow in a week's time.

The Gunners have been in relatively good form in the build-up to the game - Arsenal's last chance to win something this season. They thumped Stoke City 3-0 last time out - although the scoreline did flatter them slightly - after comfortably beating AC Milan in the Europa League last-16.

Here's five things that caught our eye from their latest training session ahead of one of their most important games of the season.

1. The story of Arsenal's season

Many Arsenal fans would have loved to have seen Wenger step down after winning the FA Cup last season - a trophy that papered over the fact the club had missed out on a top-four finish for the first time under his management.

He'd have been (rightly) worshipped for everything he'd done for the club over the years, and lifting the cup would have been a brilliant way to say goodbye.

arsenal fc tours

But he didn't. He decided to have one more go at 'turning things around' - something he has been trying to do since 2005, and has only damaged his reputation further.

Whether he can win Arsenal the Europa League this season remains to be seen, as does whether he will learn from his previous mistake in not stepping down after winning a trophy. Time will tell. But what we do know is that this is a must-win tie for Arsenal and a MUST-win tie for the boss.

2. So much for technology

These days it's all nutritionists, physiotherapists, sport scientists and any other word ending in 'ist' you can think of quite frankly.

Today's players are among the most athletic, the fittest and most disciplined to step onto the feild. They watch what they eat, drink, hit the gym without being told, and avoid nights out and drinking alcohol.

arsenal fc tours

Not only this but training grounds are decked out with things like state-of-the-art cryotherapy units, meaning they are a far cry from the Hackney Marshes.

But in Arsenal's Wednesday training session the players took part in a drill that involved something as simple as a relay race with a bib. And the look of delight on Jack Wilshere's face summed up how much the team enjoyed it.

3. He's got his confidence back

For a long while now Alexandre Lacazette's chin has been on the ground.

The £52million summer signing has been starved of confidence, and a recent injury - as well as the £56million acquisition of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - has done absolutely nothing to help the situation.

arsenal fc tours

It wasn't that long ago that even Wenger was refusing to give the striker assurances over his future at the north London club.

But Lacazette was handed the chance to score for Arsenal from the spot in their 3-0 win over Stoke last time out - a chance he grasped with both hands. It's amazing what a goal can do for a player's confidence.

4. Let me at Mesut Ozil!

Hector Bellerin was involved in an on-field spat with his Arsenal team-mate Mesut Ozil in the Gunners' victory over the Potters.

Ozil was seen shouting at the Spaniard, telling him he 'talks too much' and that he'd see him afterwards in the Arsenal dressing room.

arsenal fc tours

Bellerin later revealed that the duo hugged it out behind closed doors - amazing how a 3-0 win and three points will lighten your mood.

But that doesn't mean to say the right-back wasn't concentrating on windmilling in in Arsenal's Wednesday training session. Just in case, you know.

5. If football doesn't work out...

And our 'and finally' of the Gunners' Wednesday session sees Henrikh Mkhitaryan doing something a little strange, if we do say so ourselves.

While holding a ball isn't strange. Keepers do it, as do outfield players when going to take a throw-in. Let's not forget, Rory Delap forged a career out of his ability to play a ball with his hands.

arsenal fc tours

But why Mkhitaryan is holding onto a ball on Wednesday is a little beyond us.

Not only this, but he is doing so in such a 'rugby way' that you have to take a second look to confirm the ball is indeed a football. Well, if this season doesn't work out, perhaps he will be looking for a career change.

Who'll go through to the Europa League semis?

Arsenal expressing a strong interest in cska moscow star aleksandr golovin.

It’s been confirmed that the Gunners Manager Arsene Wenger is expressing a strong interest in CSKA Moscow star Aleksandr Golovin.

The 21-year-old midfielder has made 70 appearances and put his name six times in the score sheet since breaking into CSKA’s first-team back in 2015 and now Golovin is being heavily linked with a move to the Emirates ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

Ex-Gunner Oleg Luzhny Football agent Sandor Vargo says that The Arsenal Boss asked him to watch Golovin play for Russia in a phone call during the Confederations Cup.

When questioned whether he was at Russia’s clash with Mexico for work or pleasure, Varga told Sports Daily Russia: ‘Arsene Wenger called me and asked me to watch Golovin again.

‘He was going to come but his scout in Russia sent him 6 to 8 positive reports and so he asked me to watch him instead.’

For CSKA Moscow star Aleksandr Golovin transfer, Oleg Luzhny Football agent belives The Gunners will have to spend aound £ 10million.
