Fox 2.0 Air Shocks

These are the ones that started it all for Fox Racing Shox. Invented by Bob Fox in 1974, designed specifically for rock rigs, pre-runners, and sand cars. These shocks are completely adjustable to accommodate a wide range of suspension loads.

Installation Instructions

All products carry our 12 Month Limited Warranty. All warranties are limited to the original purchaser and are not transferable to subsequent owners of the product. The warranty period begins on the purchase date. Trail-Gear warrants that it will repair or replace, free of charge, any eligible product which, under normal conditions of use and service, proves to be defective in materials or workmanship. This warranty does not cover any labor costs incurred in diagnosis of defects, removal or reinstallation of a product, nor does it cover any other consequential expenses.

Please read and review our return and warranty requirement document before sending in products.

Warranty Exclusions

Trail-Gear Inc. warranty does not cover, and Trail-Gear Inc. shall not be liable for, any undertaking, representation, or agreements made by dealers or other third parties selling Trail-Gear products, except where such agreements are within the provisions of this Warranty.

Specifically excluded from this warranty are failures caused by lack of maintenance, misuse, negligence, modification, abuse, improper application, crash damage, installation or operation, or failures caused by unauthorized service or use of unauthorized parts.

Additionally excluded from this warranty are parts which are subject to normal wear and tear, such as bushings, fluids, hoses, gaskets, belts, etc. Products not manufactured by Trail-Gear Inc. are excluded from any warranty and shall be handled with the original manufacturer.

All parts used in a competitive racing environment are excluded from this warranty. If, after inspection, a part returned, under any warranty, is deemed to be ineligible for warranty repair or replacement, the part may be repaired or replaced for a discounted cost. Return shipping charges will apply. Any part for which a warranty replacement is sought must be returned to Trail-Gear Inc. before any replacement items can be shipped. All replacement parts shipped before the suspect part has been received and evaluated by Trail-Gear, MUST BE PAID IN FULL. In such a case, after the suspect part has been received and approved for a warranty replacement, the purchase price for the replacement will be refunded.

• Please contact Trail-Gear Inc. at 559-252-4950 or email [email protected] prior to returning any product under warranty to verify that warranty is still in effect.
• Products must be shipped back to Trail-Gear Inc. at the expense of the customer. Ship all products to: ATTN: WARRANTY 5356 E. Pine Avenue Fresno, Ca 93727.
• Please place a clearly marked copy of the original invoice on the outside of the package.
• Please include a short note stating the problem you are experiencing.

If any of the above mentioned policy is not met, the package will be refused or warranty claim denied. By completing the steps above, this will ensure faster processing of your claim so that Trail-Gear can get your product back to you as quickly as possible. All warranties are generally processed within 2-3 business days of Trail-Gear receiving the parts from you. Additional delays may be incurred if product needs additional testing or repairing.

If you are an international customer, please email the warranty department at [email protected] to receive further instruction. International customers may have the option to field destroy an approved warranty to avoid costly return shipping. In this case, any shipping charges for replacement parts will be at the expense of the customer.

#32 TRICK TRUCK’S FIRST RACE ON FOX

Fox Racing offers many different shock options for your vehicle, and if your truck is stock height without a lift kit, almost all series have OEM factory replacement options. The same series is also available for crane trucks, SUVs or Jeeps. All Fox shocks are designed to be rebuildable, rechargeable (nitrous) and retuned in case you really want to ride on the suspension.

Here is a summary of each series, how they differ from each other, and what it means for your vehicle.

The 2.0 coilover is Fox’s entry-level suspension option. Not everyone can justify spending the money on a fully adjustable, large, remote tank shock. Fox’s 2.0 series seems to fit well in between the big boy systems and makes it simple to upgrade your shocks (while keeping your stock springs).

The price on these is pretty good considering what you get. They are a few hundred more than the Toytec/Bilstein kit and a few hundred less than any comparable product from other companies like Icon, King, or even Fox themselves.

A nice touch is that these are aluminum rather than steel. This helps them dissipate heat better and prevents rusting. This is a very nice feature for us Canadians. I believe it is still important to keep them clean as aluminum will still oxidize and corrode over time.

FOX’s 2.0 Performance Series Coil-Over IFP (Internal Floating Piston) shock absorbers feature a precision metal impact extruded 6061-T6 aluminum body for improved cooling and rust resistance. The vehicle-specific upper mount includes a composite bushing to isolate noise and vibration. Featuring a race-developed, high-flow piston design that can be fixed without modification, these shocks are designed to level the truck from front to rear, providing comfortable on-road driving and predictable off-road handling conditions even in the toughest conditions.

Its locking spring preload ring allows for easy adjustment of ride height and preload, and is selected to provide optimum spring stiffness. The application can be used to reuse stock and lift trucks for stock shock. In addition, FOX’s IFP separates the shock oil from the high-pressure nitrogen-filled gas chamber. This eliminates oil and gas aeration for optimal performance of factory-tuned precision valves.

The Performance Elite fork retains the same tuning, features, dampers, weight and 7000 series aluminum top tube as the Factory series, but features black anodized struts instead of the Genuine Kashima Coat; a fantastic choice for those who like a refined look or want to save a few dollars.

The Performance Series fork retains the same black anodized 7000 series aluminum top tube as the Performance Elite, except with a GRIP shock making it the most affordable option in the Fox series, but lacking some of the high-end fancy features.

Aside from looks, there is one key aspect that sets Kashima apart from its black anodized counterpart; durability. Both finishes have nearly identical rubbing properties (a slight nod to Kashima) that most riders would have a hard time noticing. So, why do you want Kashima? It’s all in its durability. Fox 2.5" Coilover Size Advantage

The size advantage of Fox 2.5" coilover shocks gives them increased durability and performance. The increased oil capacity of the Fox 2.5 coilovers gives them a greater heat capacity and cooling loss. The greater oil volume also increases the damping capability making Fox 2.5 coilovers an excellent choice for going fast off-road

Remote Reservoir Performance

Fox 2.5 remote reservoir coilovers have three important advantages over emulsion shocks: heat removal, ride improvement and durability improvement. The remote reservoir increases oil volume internally and in the reservoir which increases the heat capacity and the heat loss, letting you run off-road harder and longer. Remote reservoirs also reduce the gas pressure increase as the Fox coilover collapses. The reduction in gas ramp reduces friction which improves the ride quality and durability. Finally the separation between the oil and gas provides more consistent damping.

Fox 2.5 Performance Series Off-Road Shocks

Fox 2.5 Performance Series coilovers are made from industry standard off-road shock materials. The Fox 2.5 Performance Series piston is a low-flow race design and requires special valving tricks for use on lightweight vehicles. Fox 2.5 Performance Series coilover shocks use a high quality oil capable of up to 400 F so you can run harder and longer. Fox backs all this performance up with high quality buna seals designed for durability off-road.
