Top 5 airlines serving from paris to barcelona.

Excellent apart from transport to actual plane 10 minutes from the actual gate , walking out in the tarmac in the rain and having to climb stairs to enter while holding luggage.

They wanted to close counter although they did not provide the wheelchair requested which ended by going alone to transit security and lost long time and they did not want to wait .

They charge me for luggage which is was included on the ticket

Good aorcraft 777 but Worst food ever Breakfast was a bû’with matonnaise… Staff was nice but invisible most of the flight

Everything went smoothly with Air France. There was a delay in departure which seemed to relate to the immigration services being short staffed.

Food could have been better especially the breakfast. Overall it was a good flight

No bording was given for next trip on same carrier, food was very moderate.

Lost luggage, 2 bags were badly damaged and one of the bags came open.

A couple of minor delays in boarding but very professional and efficient staff.

Even though my seat is a paid seat, I was told to give up my seat to a passenger. I tried to ask the CA to negotiate, and when I spoke in Japanese, the CA fled. I had to find a Japanese CA and ask them to deal with it. . After takeoff, I spilled my coffee, and when I asked the flight attendant for a towel, she told me to wipe it off with a wet tissue. My clothes got wet, so I asked CA for an extra blanket, but I had to wait for an hour.

Being on time rather than almost 3 hours late would be a start, and also, since it was known from a long time ago that the flight would be late, letting us know ahead so we don’t stay in a small hall at the airport would have been nice

Transit through Cairo was abysmal and I will never repeat this journey !!!

There was a delay of more than an hour due to technical issues on a previous flight, can happen so I don't foult the airline for that. The crew was excellent and very friendly and boarding was pretty efficient. The seats were comfortable enough. However, if you are over 1,80m, don't expect any room for your legs, the room between the rows is extremely tight!

As there are a lot of persons for the boarding and as you open the two doors of the plane, could be ingenious to ask the persons who have the first numbers (for the seats) to enter via the front door and those you are more at the end of the plane to enter by the other door. This would avoid to have passengers who entes by the front door and have to go to the back with luggages. Crazy and waste of time.

There was delay of 2 hours and all related announcements at the gate were done in French. It is not acceptable on international flight! The sandwich that I paid €6 for, was dry, hard and impossible to eat it. This is really a shame for French airline serving such sandwich.

Cancelled while we were waiting at the airport and the flight ready for boarding because of only one Stewart missing! Unacceptable! We were proposed another flight: 5 days later! Unacceptable! We had to pay other tickets of course very expensive the same day!

Your nasty smart , The seat too tight You have to pay for everything 5h20 min Flight with no food no water nothing .I didnt take my Medicine Because I don't have no water The worst trip that I have in my life.1st time flying with Transavia its going to be the last time . I am so disappointed

The whole flight was coughing and farting all the way. It was impossible to breathe. If people are traveling sick they should either not be allowed to fly or made wear masks

I will never fly vueling. 1h30 delayed, connexion missed with the crew closing the boarding in front of us. 40 people missed the Barcelona-Orly connexion. hours waiting for rebooking and hotel.. inadmissible

3 hr flight from Barcelona to Gran Canaria. Ŵent according to plan No issues with staff oŕ flight. Many people includiñg us could not get luggage self checķ in termìnals to work. Had to wait in check in line.

The communication about the delay could have been better before and during the flight. Also, this online form could have less bugs. It is almost impossible to type in this window.

Boarding was very poor as the flight was initially delayed. We were told the flight would be at 21:40. We were with our 10 month baby who was sleeping. I received an email from Kayak which said the flight was now due to take off at 21:04. When we checked the screens at Gatwick we were told the gate was closed. The lack of communication was extremely poor and we had to run with our baby and there were many other passengers, including elderly people, also running to the gate. When we got to the gate, the staff had no reasons for the poor communication.

It was a short flight but the seat was very straight. I didn’t need any service, but wifi was not available. In resume, a normal service. Nice, the punctuality. Thanks

You have couple of KG's grace on checked luggage

Last time bucking this company if I would know I wouldn’t do it, they made me lose my flight

Worst airline in the world, will never travel in it again.

easyJet need to ensure that whether pre-booking seats or not children aren’t split from their parents the crew spent the majority of boarding asking passengers to move to accommodate two families. Surely the system identifies minors on a booking !!!!! It was all very frustrating to watch and caused delays which I’m sure cost easyJet more in the long run rather that automatically allocating families with minors seats together automatically.

I am writing to share how your teams can better serve your youngest customers. On 9 January, 2024, I boarded and then de-boarded a flight with my 6 month old daughter. I have four children and travel extensively. Delays happen, but the stress my daughter had to ensure was avoidable with simple and straightforward actions. (1) communicate delays to customers -- Breastfeeding mothers are constantly timing feedings. If delays were communicated, I could have camly fed her instead of attentively waiting for priority boarding. There were no announcements and no updates to the monitor; (2) honor the priority boarding process -- While a staff member waved us in for priority boarding, half the plane boarded while the "priority check-in" representative was preoccupied; (3) anticipate challenges creating unnecessary stress to infants -- after completely ignoring the priority boarding procedure, and knowing that the plane had not even arrived, the team could have offered to board us last. My daughter could have been calm in the waiting area while breastfeeding. Instead my 6 month old was completely unnecessarily stressed in the middle of the jet bridge, packed in solid.

flight delayed, no information given until late on, Ryanair app said "on time" until 5 minutes before expected departure time, crew rushed us to board, when it was already 3 hours late

What can you say Ryanair get you there,no frills Not so cheap anymore ..... but what is now days! Would use again as always. Good flight times for us.

3 hours delay, non comunicated until past the time of original boarding, no assistance, witnessed land crew shouting at a passenger

Letting people wait outside for boarding in the rain and almost 0 degrees for a high temperature destination is very customer unfriendly

Late again rude staff at gate bullying passengers made us stand in the cold 3degrees for 40 mins before they let us board

Enjoyed our flight with Ryanair to Arrecife. Flight boarded pretty much on time, crew were welcoming and very good. Generally good for a frequent low cost flight, Seats could however have been more comfortable.

Toulouse Alicante, excellent. But the 2 next fligth by Air Europa canceled. Bad bad

I wouldn't like to fly with them anymore, I don't like their service, you can hardly take carry-on luggage because they charge you for everything, you can't ask for a glass of water, and the flight attendant tells you that they don't have any, that you have to Paying 3 euros for a bottle of water horrible, I don't recommend it, and they don't have anything low cost, because the plane ticket may not be expensive but what they charge you later for the rest, the flight becomes more expensive, it's the only airline that I don't like it so far, and I traveled a lot.

Barcelona boasts a healthy public transportation system. From busses and metros to private taxis and simple walking, here are the best ways to get around Barcelona.

Barcelona Busses

The bus system in this city is world-class. Starting from only €2.20, you can see the entire city on a tight budget. The busses operate between the hours of 5:00 and 24:00 daily and run on various routes throughout the city.

Barcelona has numerous ticket options available to locals and tourists, which ranges from a single trip to integrated passes. Remember to download a bus schedule and map on the TMB website before you plan your trip to Barcelona.

Barcelona Car Hire

Hiring a car in the city of Barcelona is only a good idea if you have a differently-abled travel companion or if you’re planning a day trip out of the city borders. The public transportation system will be the cheapest and quickest way to travel in Barcelona, especially for first-time visitors.

Barcelona Taxis

The iconic yellow and black taxis that line the streets of Barcelona is one of the most popular ways to travel in the city.

The driver charges the passenger according to a meter, and tipping is welcome but not necessary. These fares average around €0.73 per minute, and some taxis can handle a group of passengers.

Taxis are available to book in advance, but it’s not necessary to do so. Simply flag them down and ask for a ride!

Barcelona Metro

Barcelona Metro Station

Barcelona has a punctual, air-conditioned underground metro system available to take you to any major attractions.

This system is welcomed in the summer months when it’s too hot to walk. This clean and safe space charges €2.40 per ticket and is a favourite among locals.

How much does it cost ?

Cheap fares = Prems, Mini, Essential or Leisure fares = Book in advance, price varies like air fares, limited or no refunds or changes.

Full-price = Refundable and flexible.  There are no senior or youth reductions.

Child fare = Child 4-11 years, use an adult special fare if cheaper, as it often is. Children under 4 free.

How to buy tickets

Which website should you use to buy tickets?

You can buy Paris-Barcelona TGV tickets online up to 4 months in advance at the following websites, they all charge the same basic prices but some add a booking fee, some don't and some sites offer seating options, some allocate your seat.  In all cases, you print your own ticket or can select a mobile ticket to show on your phone.

(1)  www.sncf-connect.com - the official French Railways website.

There's no booking fee, you can select upper or lower deck and when you buy a 1st class ticket you can choose your exact seat from a seat map.  It's a tad more fiddly than Raileurope or Thetrainline and it's occasionally been known to reject some overseas credit cards, but give it a go.  www.sncf-connect.com cannot book onward trains within Spain.

(3)  www.raileurope.com - easy to use, small booking fee.  Who are Raileurope.com? .

You can use www.raileurope.com wherever you live, overseas credit cards accepted, prices in €, £ or $, you print your own ticket.  You can select upper or lower deck.  It also connects to the Spanish Railways (Renfe) ticketing system, so you can also buy your onward tickets within Spain here.

When do bookings open?

Bookings for Paris-Barcelona trains open up to 6 months before departure , but this varies and is often less.  Bookings for dates immediately after the timetable change in mid-December always open late, as little as 2 months ahead.

Passholder reservations:  Make reservations to go with an Interrail or Eurail pass as shown here .

Tip:   Check if an SNCF Carte Avantage discount card will save money .  The saving can sometimes exceed the cost of the card on just one trip, especially if you see high prices when you try to book or if there are two of you or if you are a family.

A Carte Avantage costs €49 for 1 year and gives you and a companion 30% off normal fares on TGVs & Intercités, which includes the Paris-Barcelona TGVs, for one-way journeys at weekends, or for round trips which include a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night away, or at any time if you're accompanied by at least one child under 12, see more information here .  Up to 3 accompanying children under 12 get 60% off.

Rail Europe can't sell tickets with Carte Avantage discount applied, so use www.sncf-connect.com or www.thetrainline.com .  To see if the saving justifies the cost of the card, run an enquiry on www.sncf-connect.com or www.thetrainline.com without a Carte Avantage added, then run the enquiry again with a Carte Avantage Adulte added to one of the adults.

What's the train like ?

The Paris to Barcelona trains are impressive TGV Duplex double-decker high-speed trains.  They operate at up to 300 km/h (186 mph) on the Sud-Est high-speed line between Paris & Nimes, and up to 320 km/h (199 mph) on the new high-speed line between Perpignan & Barcelona.  Watch the TGV video .

You board the train at the lower level through a wide sliding external door into a small entrance area at one end of the lower deck.  Here, there's a toilet and the door into the lower deck seating area.  A wide, short & easy flight of just 9 stairs leads from the entrance area to a landing at one end of the upper deck, with an upstairs toilet and a door to the upstairs seating area.  You walk along the train from car to car at the upper level.  There are luggage racks both upstairs and downstairs, at the coach ends and between the seats.  See seat numbering plan for the Paris-Barcelona TGV Duplex .

If you have significant problems with stairs or very heavy luggage, the lower deck might be best.  But for the best views (over the top of the occasional sound barrier along the high speed lines!), definitely choose an upper deck seat, the stairs are easy and there are toilets & luggage space upstairs.  For couples in first class, an upper deck club duo face-to-face table-for-two is easily the best option if you can get it.

There are baby-changing facilities and designated spaces for passengers in wheelchairs near an accessible toilet.

Cafe-bar:  There's a cafe-bar on the upper deck in car 4 in the centre of the train between the 1st & 2nd class cars. The coffee is good, credit cards are normally accepted as well as cash.  There is a standing area where you can eat & drink or you can take your purchases back to your seat. see a sample TGV menu .  You can skip the queue by ordering on your phone for collection at the cafe-bar counter, see the travel tips section below !  Or feel free to bring your own food & even beer or wine along for the journey to consume at your seat.

Power sockets:  There are power sockets for laptops and mobiles at every seat, standard European 230V 2-pin type.

What's the journey like ?

1.  Paris Gare de Lyon.   The train to Barcelona leaves from the magnificent Gare de Lyon in central Paris.  See Gare de Lyon information page .

Hall 1 at the Gare de Lyon .  The TGV may leave from Hall 1 or Hall 2, see the Paris Gare de Lyon station page .

How about lunch at the amazing Train Bleu restaurant in Hall 1 of the Gare de Lyon before catching the Barcelona Express?  Or just have a coffee or beer in the bar (above right), which makes an excellent VIP waiting lounge.

2.  Paris to the outskirts of Lyon.  The train leaves the Gare de Lyon and joins the high-speed line, accelerating smoothly to 300 km/h through the Paris suburbs, soon emerging into open country.  Between Paris and the outskirts of Lyon the train runs through undulating countryside with villages and stone-built farms nestling in small valleys.

3.  Rhone Valley.  South of Lyon the train powers down the rural Rhone Valley, past more pretty French villages with picturesque churches and the occasional chateau.

Watch for hilltop villages.

On a clear day you can see the snow-capped French Alps in the distance to the left, and the dark line of the Massif central mountains on the far side of the valley to the right.

4.  The Rhone & Chateau de Montfaucon.   Between Valence and Nîmes the train crosses a broad stretch of the River Rhone with a view of the wine-producing Chateau de Montfaucon on the right, www.chateaumontfaucon.com .

Above left, lunch from the cafe-bar, a magret de canard avec pommes de terre and some wine from the cafe-bar.  By all means bring your own picnic and wine!

8.  Étangs & flamingos.  The train passes numerous étangs (lakes), where flocks of flamingos stand one-legged in the shallows.

9. The Fort de Salses.  Just before Perpignan, the train passes by the impressive Fort de Salses on the right, a 15th-century Catalan fortress captured in 1642 and French-held ever since, see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_de_Salses .

10.  Mt Canigou & the Pyrenees.   One of the highest peaks in the mighty Pyrenees, the 2,784m (9,137 feet) high Mt Canigou dominates the skyline on the right all the way from Perpignan to Girona, see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canigou .

X-ray check when boarding in Barcelona:   At Spanish stations including Barcelona Sants, there's a quick X-ray check of all baggage before you can go onto the high-speed platforms, which includes boarding a northbound TGV to France.  There are usually no metal detectors, so you can carry what you like on your person, it's only your baggage that's checked.  Make sure that any (perfectly legal) penknives, corkscrews etc are in your pockets not your baggage so don't get scanned, to avoid a jobsworth refusing to allow them on, as happened to one passenger .  There is no such check at any French station, where there is free & easy access to the train .  More about Barcelona Sants station .

Travel tips

Should you go 1st or 2nd class?

Upper deck seats are best!

Whichever class you choose, I recommend an upper deck seat on the TGV Duplex for the best views of the scenery.  It's only 9 wide and easy stairs up from the entrance and once upstairs you can walk along the train to the cafe-bar, there are toilets & luggage space.  Any seat number greater than 60 is upper deck.

Infants under 4 go free on both the TGV and Frecciarossa, no need to buy them a ticket, just bring them along.  However, if they go free they don't qualify for their own seat, they go on your lap.

Tips for making the journey cheaper

If the TGV is expensive

SNCF seem to be under-providing and over-pricing the Paris-Barcelona route these days.  Competition from a new Paris-Barcelona service operated by Renfe might happen in 2024, but in the meantime, here are two tips which might make your TGV journey cheaper:

Try splitting the booking at Perpignan

If you only see expensive €120+ fares from Paris to Barcelona, try splitting the booking at Perpignan.

On one date I picked, Paris-Barcelona by TGV cost €170, but Paris-Perpignan on the same train cost €60 then Perpignan-Barcelona (also on the same train) cost €29, a total cost of €89, a 47% saving.  Splitting the journey won't always save money, but it's worth checking.

To do this, set up an enquiry from Paris to Barcelona, click More options and enter Perpignan, leaving stopover time as zero.  Then run the enquiry.  Raileurope.com will automatically split the ticket at Perpignan.  Compare the prices you see with the prices you get without the Perpignan split.

You'll need to switch seats at Perpignan as you are unlikely to be given the same seat for both parts of the trip.  The train often consists of two 8-car TGV units coupled together between Paris & Perpignan, each with a different train number, only one 8-car unit runs beyond Perpignan to Barcelona, usually with car numbers 11-18.  The other unit (usually car numbers 1-8) only operates between Paris & Perpignan.  If you're lucky your Paris-Perpignan seats will be in the Paris-Barcelona unit, and you can simply walk down the train any time to your new seats, but if you get Paris-Perpignan seats with a different train number you'll need to nip out onto the platform when the train arrives at Perpignan, walk forward to the front TGV unit and re-board, you won't be able to walk through the train.  The trains stops at Perpignan for several minutes while the two units are coupled/uncoupled, it only takes a minute to nip out and walk forward.

See if a Carte Avantage saves money

French Railways have a discount card called Carte Avantage .  The saving can sometimes justify the cost of the card for just one Paris-Barcelona round trip, especially if there are two of you or you're a family, or when fares are high.

A Carte Avantage Adulte costs €49 for 1 year and gives you and a companion 30% off normal fares on TGVs & Intercités (including Paris-Barcelona) for one-way journeys at weekends, or for round trips which include a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night away, or at any time if accompanied by a child under 12, see more about Carte Avantage .  Up to 3 accompanying children under 12 get 60% off.  You also get discounts on many TER regional trains.  There are also youth & senior versions, without the weekday restrictions.

Rail Europe can't sell tickets with Carte Avantage discount, so book with www.thetrainline.com or www.sncf-connect.com instead.  There's no discount on Eurostar, but you'll get any applicable discount on Paris-Barcelona.

To see what the saving is and to check if that justifies the cost of a card, go to www.thetrainline.com or www.sncf-connect.com and run a Paris-Barcelona enquiry without a Carte Avantage added, then run again with a Carte Avantage Adulte added to one of the adults.

Hotels in Barcelona

.hotels close to barcelona sants station, for an overnight stop.

If you're only stopping in Barcelona briefly between trains, a hotel close to Barcelona Sants station might be best.  Here are some near the station with good or great reviews:  Hotel Barcelo Sants (4-star, great reviews, directly above Barcelona Sants station itself, recommended), AC Hotel Sants by Marriott (4-star, just 50m from the station), Hotel Catalonia Roma (3-star), Hostal Baler (2-star), Hotel Transit (1-star), Meeting Point Hostel (inexpensive private rooms & dorm beds).

Hotels in the heart of the old city, for a longer stay

For a longer stay, get a hotel in the old quarter, perhaps on or near La Rambla itself, such as the following hotels with good or great reviews:  Hotel DO Plaça Reial (5-star, fabulous, around £200+), Hotel Espana (4-star, around £190, one of Barcelona's most historic & well-known hotels in a quiet location just off La Rambla), Hotel MonteCarlo (4-star), Hotel Jazz (3-star with roof-top pool, from around £160 per night), Hotel Catalonia Portal de l'Angel (3-star with outdoor swimming pool, Gothic quarter, around £130 for a double), Hotel Curious (2-star, 50m from Las Ramblas, from around £90 for a double).

Hotels in Paris

Hotels near the Gare de Lyon with good reviews :  Hotel Terminus Lyon (right in front of the station, 3-star, doubles €139);  Mercure Paris Gare de Lyon (on the station itself, 4-star, doubles €120);   Novotel Paris Gare de Lyon (opposite the station, 4-star, doubles €139);  Mistral Hotel (800m from Gare de Lyon, 1-star, doubles €68);  Hotel 26 Faubourg (5 min walk from Gare de Lyon, 2-star, doubles €86);

For something special.   There's the famous & flashy Paris Ritz in the Place Vendôme of course (over €500 a night) or the similarly-priced Le Meurice , but if you want a really special hotel for a luxury break or romantic weekend and can afford to splurge around €290 a night, I'd recommend the small, sumptuous and intimate L'Hotel .  It's on the bohemian left bank, walking distance from the Seine, the Ile de la Cité & Notre Dame.  Oscar Wilde spent the last days of his life here in room 16, and the hotel has been used by many famous people from Sinatra to Mick Jagger.  Rooms are on the cosy side, but they are beautifully decorated and have character that other hotels lack.

Top 5 airlines serving from barcelona to paris.

The check in was horrible. I stood in line for 1 hour to check in with an Air France ticket. Then I was told I had to go to Delta counter onstead to check in instead. It made no sense.

Old cabine without flat bed in business for a 12 hour flight is not acceptable

Generally good. The crew is excellent. The food could be better.

Did not find the wheelchair that supposed to assist and went to a long queue for transit security chk which was very slow and boarding desk wanted to close counter although that they knew that I am minutes away because of their mistake of not providing the wheelchair.

Boarding was smooth and on time. The seat was comfortable and the entertainment worked. Staff were gracious.

Business class in the second leg - CDG-EVN was a disaster.

I have used Air France and KLM many times it will help if they change their menu's feel like it's been the same for years!!!, Especially the breakfast. Overall the flight was good and enjoyable.

No birding was given for next trip on same carrier, food was very moderate.

We transited through Chad and what was supposed to be a 1hr 20 minutes transit time lasted over 4hrs. We didn't get regular updates until we complained. After a 10hr flight from Paris no form of refreshment given and finally arrived Abuja over 6hrs later and none of my bags came

The line at boarding was not well organized and managed

Non stop flight from Barcelona to Rome, arriving on time.

They stop online checkin above a certain capacity. We had to go to the airport to check-in at the desk. Or was offered to pay 7eur extra. Rip off.

I didn't get the wheelchair assistance I'd requested and my flight was on the tarmac, which was extremely painful for me. If this airline isn't for me, that's fine. The crew was fantastic and friendly ab

It was a short flight but the seat was very straight. I didn’t need any service, but wifi was not available. In resume, a normal service. Nice, the punctuality. Thanks

Bought check in baggage but couldn’t do it at the kiosk, had to line up just to get baggage tag which was a very long queue with only 1 customer service agent handling all vueling flights. Had to wait about 45mins just to get a bag tag and drop baggage.

Very pleasant crew, working hard on a full plane. Delay by a broken seat. However crew made back 60% of the delay.

EverEverything was actually great. Except one of the male flight attendants had the worst BO and needed to shower and wear deodorant. It was horrible.

Plane out was great, one back was cramped. Awful. Thankfully great crew!

Speakers were blaring. It's like being in a Moroccan market and you keep getting shouted at with what's for sale

Everything went according to plan. Check in, boarding etc all were very efficient.

very delayed boarding; the crew started the service extremely late and everything felt like they didn't want to be there and do their jobs; the pilot changed her mind about landing :))))))))) and we spent 10 more minutes circling around the airport before landing, eventually!!! lack of communication = lack of professionalism. she could have said 'ladies and gentlemen, due to us having taken off very late, we have lost our landing permissions and we'll have to wait some more', but she chose to shut up. big mistake that reflects poorly on the airline and herself.

Left on time and arrived on time both ways, thank you

Flights were on time. The crew was efficient and friendly.

I hate Ryanair and have decided never to fly with them again, they treat you like animals on the way to slaughter and they never take responsibility for their errors and lousy service.

A normal Ryanair flight = too many announcements to sale something, hard landing. Otherwise, good value for money

Is good airline but their check in process is not simple

Boarding at Arrecife was commended way too early. Far too long for elderly to be kept standing on their feet. Otherwise we’ll done to all staff.

15 Ways To Have The Most Memorable Paris Trip

Y ou probably won’t have to try too hard to have a memorable time in Paris, but these 15 Ways To Have The Most Memorable Paris Trip will definitely give you some ideas!

Having a memorable Paris trip is pretty much a given when you visit this romantic city - however, you probably don’t want to have the exact same trip you’ve heard about from everybody else.

See Some Famous Graves

Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris is where you’ll find the graves of many famous people. Located in the northeast corner of Paris, the Pere Lachaise Cemetery is the most visited cemetery in the world. Over 800,000 people are buried here, including Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison.

There are many other famous residents, including Chopin, Moliere, Edith Piaf, and Rossini. It’s actually a beautiful place with some impressive headstones and tombs and well worth a visit.

Many people like to leave trinkets at Jim Morrison's grave, and there’s even a tree covered in multicolored chewing gum. You never know when you might find somebody quietly playing The Door’s songs and swaying sullenly to the music, either.

Sleep In Luxury

If you're looking for some incredible accommodation options, I'd strongly suggest looking for a place to stay in some of the iconic holiday rentals in Paris.

Located throughout the capital, you'll easily find a place near main attractions with simple public transport options, helping you get round the city. Catering to a variety of budgets, you'll find a beautiful place to rest your head and continue exploring!

Enjoy As Many Of The Culinary Delights As You Wish

What’s the point in visiting Paris if you’re not going to sample all of the culinary delights it has to offer? Aside from all of the cheese and fresh pastries, make sure you have some Crepes! One of the best things to do while in Paris is to eat.

If this sounds good to you, then booking a food tour could be a good way to go! You’ll visit some of the very best places in the city and enjoy some amazing foods.

Plan For Plenty Of Galleries And Museums

There are so many galleries and museums to choose from in Paris, so make sure you plan to visit many of them. Of course, you shouldn’t try to cram too many into a weekend or you won’t be able to appreciate them fully!

The Louvre is the world’s largest art museum. This building was once the home to French Kings, including Louis XIV. The Louvre was converted to a museum during the French Revolution in the 18th century.

You could spend days here and not see it all. The highlights include the Venus de Milo and the Mona Lisa.

Musee d’Orsay houses the largest collection of Impressionist art in the world. You’ll be able to enjoy the works of Van Gogh, Cezanne, Monet, Degas, and more here.

Musee de l’Orangerie is a small museum with just a few oval rooms that feature Impressionist artwork. The highlights of this museum are the eight Water Lilies murals painted by Claude Monet, which span the whole panoramic space of a room.

You can also see art by Picasso, Sisley, Cezanne, Matisse, and more.

One of the 15 Ways To Have The Most Memorable Paris Trip is to SHOP!

Visit The Flea Markets For Trinkets And Souvenirs

There are many incredible flea markets in Paris, and they are perfect for picking up trinkets and souvenirs that you can take home with you to remember your trip. You’ll also find many stalls set up along the Seine River, selling used books, magazines, and artwork.

This tradition of selling used books along the Seine started in the 16th century and this is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You could easily buy a few used books and other goods on your way to visit some of the museums and galleries listed above.

Walk As Much As You Can - And Get Lost

Paris is a city that should really be navigated on foot. You never know what you might miss if you don’t make the effort to explore on foot! You should even get lost on purpose, as there are so many beautiful things just waiting around the corner.

This way, you’ll get the opportunity to peek behind those doorways and discover the hidden gems you might have otherwise missed.

If you don’t want to navigate Paris alone, the Le Marais walking tour will show you the best of medieval Paris, and there are a few more walking tours you could take part in.

While many companies offer ‘free’ tours with the expectation that you’ll tip the guide at the end, you’ll find many self-guided tours if you type ‘free & self-guided walking tours in X’ into your phone browser.

Don’t Miss Some Of Paris’ Beautiful Bridges

There are a total of 37 bridges and footbridges along the Seine, connecting the Left Bank to the Right Bank. Some of these bridges are the most beautiful bridges in Paris and should not be missed, no matter the goal of your trip!

The best known bridges in Paris include the oldest one, Pont Neuf, which began construction in 1578. The Pont de l'Alma has a history and is a magnet for tourists, as it is the place where Princess Diana died tragically in the year 1997.

Have A Picnic On The Seine

The Seine is a wonderful place to stroll arm in arm with a lover or friend and find a spot to have a picnic. Take your own cheese, croissants, wine, and a fresh baguette, or if you prefer, you could order pizza from the Pink Flamingo. They’ll give you a balloon and deliver it straight to your spot when it’s ready!

You could even try the Canal St Martin, which is more popular among the locals.

Take Yourself For An Espresso

Take yourself on a coffee date with a book, just like the Parisians do! Enjoy your tiny but mighty espresso drink with your water on the side (to cleanse the palette), and take your time with your book.

You could even just people watch. This could also be a great idea for a date in Paris. Coffee dates are a great alternative to going out to expensive restaurants!

Learn A Little French Before You Go

The French people will really appreciate the fact that you tried to learn some French before arriving. Learn the basic phrases and it’ll make your trip so much more manageable at the very least. In some places, being polite in French might even get you a little bit knocked off the bill.

Book Your Eiffel Tower Tickets In Advance

If you really do want to visit the Eiffel Tower, the smartest thing to do is book your tickets in advance. Otherwise, you’re looking at a 2-3 hour wait.

The Eiffel Tower is beautiful, but it is usually packed full of tourists, so don’t expect to have the place to yourself - and don’t expect to enjoy it if you don’t like crowds. If you want to give it a miss, head somewhere you’ll be able to see it lit up at night time instead, like the Trocadero or a cruise on the Seine.

Walk Along The Champs Elysees

It’s touristy, but you have to do it! It’s one of the most recognizable streets in the world. Plus, you’ll be able to grab some macarons from Laduree while you’re there, which you will not regret.

Buy A Book From Shakespeare and Company

Located on Paris’ Left Bank, Shakespeare and Company is a small but very famous bookstore. It’s very small and cramped inside, and this can be difficult when other tourists are around - there’s even somebody on the door to make sure there’s no funny business.

This bookstore was frequently visited by authors like Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, and Ezra Pound. Now, it has lots of modern books and the classics you’d expect, and when you buy a book from there you get a special stamp!

It’s quite the experience and one all avid readers and bibliophiles should have.

Take In The Views From A Rooftop Bar

There are so many restaurants that will give you the most amazing view of the city. You could enjoy the sunset and some French cuisine at the same time at a place like Le Perchoir or 43 Up on the Roof.

Visit The Catacombs

The Catacombs will take you under the streets of Paris in a sort of labyrinth lined with human bones.

During the 18th century, cemeteries around Paris were cleared and the bones were moved to underground tunnels. Six million Parisians currently rest here.

Don't Dress In Fancy Outfits

One of the biggest mistakes that you can make in Paris is to dress in fancy outfits. You might want to show the French what you’re made of, but this is something you will no doubt end up regretting later on down the line.

You want to be comfortable while you’re exploring, and the last thing you want to think about is how much your feet are hurting. Take a sensible pair of shoes or trainers to navigate the Parisian streets. It’s also worth noting that in some clubs, the dress code is very casual.

You might be turned away if you’re too dressed up, so bear this in mind! Hopefully, you now have lots of ideas on how to have the most memorable Paris trip!
