Glorious Day in and around Napier

In preparation for our day in Napier (we were sailing on the Celebrity Solstice), we worked closely (via email) with John, the owner of Tailored Travel Hawkes Bay. He helped us develop a full-day tour and afforded us a magical day. We not only learned about the town (with a chance to walk around), but also the 1930s earthquake that resulted in the building of an Art Deco town. We were also able to visit a winery (and sample local wines), view some beautiful sites (both coastal and inland), and gain insight into the areas' history and culture. John was an engaging guide who ensured that we had as perfect an exposure to Napier that one can have in one day. Not only was John a warm and personable guide, he was easily able to integrate his recommendations about the area with our preferences. He helped establish timeframes so we would have enough time to see a particular area but not so much time, being mindful of our need to return to the ship on time, as to cause us to miss out on something. His knowledge of the area (I don't believe there was a question that any of us posed that he couldn't answer). We all felt that we truly saw the city and environs and cannot imagine a better host than John and Tailored Travel Hawke's Bay.

Fantastic tour of Napier/ Hastings and surrounds. Enjoyed a great day out with John who is super friendly and knowledgeable. Nothing was a problem and he was more that happy to customise the tour for us.

We had such a wonderful afternoon with John. He was very flexible and offered great suggestions of what we might like to see. We went to a variety of vineyards, up to the lookout at Te Mata, to a nice gallery, and had a short tour of the town in Napier. John was a great guide and we really appreciated how flexible he was with pick up times etc. We think anyone would enjoy a tour with John.
