Disney Cruise Line Deck Parties and Fireworks

Disney Cruise Line Deck Parties and Fireworks

Disney Cruise Line deck parties and fireworks are a great way to increase the excitement of an already anticipated cruise! Each ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet has at least one party during its voyage. Whether it’s the Sail-Away Celebration, a night with the pirates, or time with Pixar Pals there is a lot of fun for all!

Firework displays are something that Disney does well, whether it be on land or at sea, and Disney Cruise Lines’ fireworks are the first in the world to be offered by a cruise line at sea. Take a look at the various Deck Parties and Fireworks that you could experience on your next cruise.

Join Elsa, Anna and Kristoff along with virtual visits from other Frozen characters up on deck for a really cool party! The evening starts with a Frozen themed dinner offering traditional Nordic dishes. After dinner, move up on deck for dancing and singing to your favorite tunes from Frozen. For non-dancers, Sven is hosting reindeer games on the transformed upper decks. To set the mood for the evening, Elsa has created a winter wonderland with snow covered rocks, giant snowflakes, and icicles. (Disney Magic and Disney Wonder select cruises only.

Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Party at Sea

This summer, for a limited time (June 2019 through August 2019) and again in summer 2020 enjoy a surprise celebration for the world’s most beloved couple. New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve aboard a Disney cruise ship is unforgettable. There is something for everyone to enjoy on this evening of festivities. Dancing, music, food, and more are offered at this exclusive party before the fireworks erupt at midnight. There are even special parties for tweens and teens in your family, and the fun keeps going all night.

Pirates IN the Caribbean Deck Party and Fireworks

Enjoy an entire day with touches of a pirate theme culminating in a fantastic deck party and fireworks. For the younger ones, there are activities in the youth clubs to get in the spirit. Families can enjoy a game show in the afternoon to test their pirate knowledge. Pirates have even taken over Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and transformed the space into the Pirates League. Guests are transformed into pirates, recite the oath, and officially join Captain Jack’s crew.

Pirate Night officially starts at dinner in the Main Dining restaurants as the servers wear pirate garb and greet guests with an “Ahoy Matey!” or “Arrrr!” and a pirate bandanna at each place. After dinner, head over to the pool deck for entertainment starring your favorite Disney characters decked out in their finest pirate garb. Watch out for the skull-and-crossbones projections because they signal the arrival of Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, and their gang of pirates. Wait to see Mickey and his friends save the day! This party ends with a spectacular fireworks finale. Fireworks weather permitting and not offered on Alaskan cruises.  (All Disney Cruise Line Ships)

Disney Cruise Line Emailing Silver Anniversary at Sea Guests with Details on the Fireworks Show

Today, Disney Cruise Line sent emails out to guests to provide an update on the entertainment offerings that are part of the Silver Anniversary at Sea celebration this summer. The core of the communication deals with the fireworks show which is offered “on most” sailings.

DCL Summer 25th Anniversary Fireworks Update

The anniversary offerings across our fleet will provide guests with an opportunity to meet favorite Disney Characters dressed in new, shimmering outfits, enjoy festive décor, limited-time food and beverage and more.

25th Anniversary Fireworks Show

The 25th anniversary fireworks show will be featured on most 4-night or longer sailings visiting The Bahamas, Caribbean and the Mediterranean this summer. Guests on the following Silver Anniversary at Sea itineraries are receiving emails with more information about their sailing’s entertainment offerings.

  • 3-night Silver Anniversary at Sea Sailings aboard the Disney Wish  : The fireworks presentation during 3-night cruises will be our popular Pirate’s Night fireworks, weather permitting.
  • 4-Night Disney Wish Sailing Departing July 3: This sailing will feature two fireworks presentations, weather permitting. Instead of the 25th Anniversary themed fireworks, this sailing will feature our July 4th fireworks and our popular Pirate’s Night fireworks.
  • 4-night Silver Anniversary at Sea Sailings aboard the Disney Wish  Departing June 12, June 26, July 24 and Aug. 7: The fireworks presentation on these sailings will be our popular Pirate’s Night fireworks, weather permitting. Due to the speed and location of the ship on the other evenings, we are unable to present a second set of fireworks.
  • 4-night Silver Anniversary at Sea Sailings aboard the Disney Dream Departing Aug. 26 and Aug. 30: The fireworks presentation on these sailings will be our Silver Anniversary Fireworks at Sea presentation, weather permitting. Due to the speed and location of the ship on the other evenings, we are unable to present a second set of fireworks.
  • Alaska Silver Anniversary at Sea Sailings aboard the Disney Wonder : Fireworks are not offered on Alaskan cruises. During Alaska sailings, Freezing the Night Away with Anna, Elsa, and Friends deck party will be presented instead of pirate night fireworks and 25 anniversary fireworks.
  • Select Disney Dream Silver Anniversary at Sea Sailings: Due to the speed and location of the ship, fireworks are not offered on select European cruises.

According to Disney, guests sailing on Silver Anniversary at Sea Sailings aboard the Disney Fantasy and Disney Magic will not be receiving emails.

Guests are reminded to check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator mobile app once onboard for all shows, activities, and times.

5 Replies to “Disney Cruise Line Emailing Silver Anniversary at Sea Guests with Details on the Fireworks Show”

“According to Disney, guests sailing on Silver Anniversary at Sea Sailings aboard the Disney Fantasy and Disney Magic will not be receiving emails.”

That’s curious, any reason why? I assume its because most of those sailings can easily get the two shows (I know the Fantasy has already started two shows…).

Here’s hoping. I have a 3 night on the Magic and I don’t expect 2 fireworks shows but I’d rather see the new show once than Pirates again.

' src=

I am also curious about why no notifications on the 7 day cruises as well. Got a first time Disney Cruise on the Fantasy and we’re psyched about the fireworks show. (we love our Disney fireworks in general) and was hoping that we were going to have 2 shows on our trip. I’m hoping that it’s just something simple as they are only emailing upcoming cruises to mitigate any customer service loads contact emails like that can draw out.

' src=

We got the same letter for our WBTA cruise in September. We did the same cruise last year and had fireworks. Not sure what the real issue is but it’s not speed and location as DCL says.

' src=

Just got the email that we get no fireworks for Dream cruise to Italy and Greek Isles. Kind of bummed to not get to see the special show.

' src=

We just got off the Fantasy today. The fireworks were nothing special. They played to the new song and then were done. For merchandise, everything was limited to 2 per guest. They had very limited sizes of the spirit jersey. They also had 0 Fantasy pandora charms. The 25th anniversary trivia was a bust due to crafts going over time and they never repeated it. The See you real soon was also disappointing as they only had a few princesses and the main 8 characters, no one from the shows.

New Fireworks Display and More Revealed for Disney Cruise Line’s “Silver Anniversary at Sea”

Hi everyone!

The Disney Cruise Line turns 25 years old this year and more has been revealed today about “Silver Anniversary at Sea”, being celebrated this summer aboard all five ships (from May through September 2023). This includes a new fireworks display on “Silver Anniversary at Sea” sailings (find out more about the sailings on the Disney Cruise Line website ), including a new signature song created for “Silver Anniversary at Sea”.

Read below for the new details from the Disney Parks Blog !

Watch a New Fireworks Show Light Up the Night

In 1998, Disney Cruise Line made history as the first cruise line ever to produce a fireworks show at sea! In the 25 years since, fireworks have remained a quintessential part of the Disney Cruise Line experience, inspiring core memories for generations of dreamers.

Today, we are thrilled to share that the night sky will shine even brighter this summer as a shimmering new fireworks display premieres on select “Silver Anniversary at Sea” itineraries!

Created in honor of Disney Cruise Line’s 25 th  anniversary, the limited-time evening extravaganza will uphold the cherished Disney tradition of fireworks and honor Disney’s continuing legacy of adventure. The dazzling spectacle will be set to the tunes of iconic and beloved Disney music, and anchoring the show will be a brand-new signature song created especially for the “Silver Anniversary at Sea.”

The 25 th  anniversary fireworks show will be featured on most Bahamian, Caribbean and Mediterranean cruises this summer.

Say “Cheers” During a Shimmering Soiree

A captain’s reception is a well-known cruising tradition that has been enjoyed by Disney Cruise Line guests since the very beginning. In honor of our “Silver Anniversary at Sea,” we are reimagining this time-honored event into a one-of-a-kind celebratory experience, adding an extra dose of magic to sailings this summer.

On one evening each cruise, guests will be invited to join their ship’s captain and cruise director in the atrium for an anniversary toast. The festive affair will feature appearances from Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse — dressed for the occasion in their shimmering new looks, of course! — and a delightful rendition of the “Silver Anniversary at Sea” theme song.

Celebrate with A Limited-Edition Castaway Club Gift

If you’ve sailed with Disney Cruise Line before, you can be part of the best club on the high seas – the Castaway Club, which recognizes returning Disney Cruise Line guests with exclusive rewards and perks.

disney cruise fireworks every night

We’re excited to announce that all Castaway Club members who sail during the “Silver Anniversary at Sea” this summer will receive a limited-edition framed art print in their stateroom to commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime celebration until supplies last. As shown above, this design was created by Disney artist Joe Kaminski, whose work is featured in The Art of Disney galleries, Disney resort hotels and Disney Cruise Line ships. (One 11×14 framed print will be delivered per stateroom.)

Disney Cruise Pirate Night – The Ultimate Guide

Sharing is caring!

Pirate Night on a Disney Cruise is one of the highlights of a cruise for many guests.

But what is really involved in a Disney Cruise Pirate Night?

It has become a huge part of the entertainment on a Disney Cruise.

Whether you want to embrace the Pirate Life completely or just enjoy it from the sidelines, here is a complete guide to show you exactly what is involved and how to make the most of the experience.

PIRATE NIGHT ON DISNEY CRUISE LINE

disney cruise pirate night

There are several elements to Pirate Night on your Disney Cruise.

It varies slightly on each ship, but the main things offered are the same.

  • Pirates in the Caribbean Deck Party

Pirate Night Menu

  • Late Night Buffet (not on all cruises)
  • Buccaneer Blast Fireworks
  • Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
  • Pirate Costumes

The Deck Party

The highlight of Disney’s Pirate Night for many people is the Deck Party.

There are usually two shows, with the second show being followed by the fireworks. Sometimes there will be just one show.

Just like the stage shows each evening, the Pirate Night shows are designed so that you can attend the show whichever dinner seating you have.

The timing of the shows is subject to change so you should check your Navigators for the relevant time for your sailing.

The Pirates in the Caribbean Party follows basically the same formula on all the ships, with the exception of the Wish.

disneypiratenightonacruise

On Pirate Night on the Wish, this is Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party hosted by Captain Redd.

In a reference to the classic Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disney Park, Captain Redd is a descendant of the iconic redhead woman in the park attraction.

I won’t go into any particular detail about the show, except to say expect lots of singing, some Pirate Villains and Heroes, and maybe even an unexpected spectacular entrance from Mickey Mouse and Captain Jack Sparrow.

The grand finale of the evening is the Buccaneer Blast Fireworks Show.

I have written about where to pick the best viewing spots for the shows and fireworks later in this article.

All of the rotational dining restaurants will serve the same special-themed menu on Pirate Night.

Pirate Night Buffet

The Pirate Night Buffet always used to be a feature of the evening. Following the deck party at around 10.30 pm, guests were invited into Cabanas to have even more food!

However, since the resumption of cruising, the buffet only seems to be happening on a select number of cruises.

Even before the shutdown, it wasn’t entirely predictable as to whether or not there would be a Pirate Buffet.

Really, at this point, so late in the evening, the last thing I wanted was even more food! However, it was another fun element to the evening and it is sad to see that it doesn’t often feature anymore.

The Pirate Night Turkey legs were very popular!

What is the Best Place to View the Fireworks on Disney Cruise?

The highlight of Pirate Night is the fireworks. So you want to make sure that you snag yourself a good viewing spot.

Obviously, fireworks are in the sky!

So there are many good places to view this part of the evening.

However, some viewing spots are better than others.

disney cruise pirate night fireworks

The best viewing places depend upon which Disney ship you are sailing on.

Also, be aware that some spaces may be blocked off by Cast Members. This varies, but obviously, if space is blocked off from public access there is a safety reason, so just don’t break the rules.

Disney Magic and Wonder Fireworks

On Classic Ships the Magic and Wonder fireworks can be seen in the sky on the Starboard side of the ship.

If you stand at the Family Pool and look towards the Starboard side, that is where they will appear.

If you are on Disney Magic or Wonder Deck 10 is the place to be.

Most places on Deck 10 are going to give a decent view of the fireworks.

I tend to prefer Deck 10 anyway for Pirate Night as it is slightly less crowded than Deck 9.

The disadvantage is that you can’t then be on the pool deck for the Party. But I think that the benefits outweigh this, particularly if you are not experiencing this for the first time.

If you are on Deck 9 you will still be able to watch the fireworks from most places.

However, there are certain places on this Deck where your view will not be as good as from higher up.

Don’t stand to the far Starboard side under the Deck 10 overhang as you are going to have a severely restricted view here.

disney wonder pirate night

If you are sailing Concierge on the Magic or Wonder the very best place to watch the fireworks on Pirate Night is from the outdoor concierge deck.

The Concierge Deck is, of course, my favorite place to watch the fireworks. Unfortunately, you do not have a view of the Pirate Show as this is directly below you.

Having sailed many times though, if I am sailing Concierge I always watch from this deck. You get a great sense of the atmosphere, without having to deal with the crowds.

Another place to be if you do not want to follow the crowd is Deck 4 Starboard. Relatively few people will be watching from here as you can’t see the show at all. You can hear the music.

Deck 4 is a good alternative place to view but if it is your first Pirate Night you will probably want to be in a different place. It is a very different, much quieter experience here.

Disney Dream and Fantasy Fireworks

The Dream and Fantasy fireworks are also fired from the Starboard side of the ship.

One of the best places to view both the show and the fireworks is Deck 12 Port Side. The show is on Deck 11 which means that you will be above it looking down.

This location on the Port Side of Deck 12 gives one of the best views of the fireworks. However, do be aware not to stand too close to the AquaDuck as this can block your view.

The ideal spot to get a great view of the fireworks and the show is at the front of the railings on Deck 12 Port Side. However, be prepared to stake out this viewing spot early.

You can also stand on the Port Side of Deck 12 to watch the fireworks and you will be able to see the show on Funnel Vision. However, just be careful not to stand so that your view is obscured by the Aquaduck.

If you want to feel more like part of the show then Deck 11 is the place to be. Just avoid being under the overhang of Deck 12 on the Starboard side or you will not have a good view of the fireworks.

Deck 13 is a quieter location for two reasons. The first is that not as many people know about it. The second is because it is an adult-only area. This is an area for viewing the fireworks only as you can’t see the show at all from here.

You can also view the fireworks on Deck 4 Starboard. However, just as for Wonder and Magic, this is a very different experience. One probably not for first-timers unless you do not like being in large crowds.

Disney Wish Cruise Fireworks

The advice for the best places to view the fireworks and show is the same as for the Fantasy and Dream.

It is likely that when the Disney Treasure is launched in 2024 all advice will be the same as the Wish with regard to Pirate Night.

Can You Watch the Disney Cruise Fireworks from your Verandah Stateroom?

Only Verandah Staterooms on the Starboard side would have a view of the fireworks.

There is now a Safety Warning on the Disney Cruise Line App saying that all loose items should be removed from the balcony, the door should be shut and viewing should be from inside only.

Other Highlights

There are a number of other elements to Pirate Night including the chance to see Mickey and Minnie dressed up in their finest pirate outfits.

Of course, this is your big chance to meet Captain Jack Sparrow.

There will be special Pirate Night backdrops for photos, Pirate Trivia, and Crafts.

Disney Pirate Night FAQs

Here are some common questions about Disney Pirate Night on a Cruise:

When is Pirate Night on a Disney Cruise?

This is the usual pattern – but is subject to change so always check your Navigators.

  • 3-Night Disney Cruise: Night 2
  • 4-Night Disney Cruise: Night 3
  • 5-Night Disney Cruise: Night 2
  • 7-Night Disney Cruise: Night 4 or 5

Do all Disney Cruises have Pirate Night?

Not all Disney Cruises have Pirate Night.

Disney Alaskan Cruises and European Cruises do not have a Pirate Night.

The 2 and 3-night Australian and New Zealand cruises will not have Pirate Night. DCL originally confirmed that the 3-night cruises would have Pirate Night but then, in August 2023, said that this was no longer the case.

If you are sailing on a Disney Cruise from Australia I would suggest that you contact DCL directly to ask if there will be a Pirate Night, as the information at the moment seems to be contradictory.

Do they have Pirate Night on a 3-day Bahamian and Caribbean Cruise? Yes, there is a Pirate Night on a 3-night cruise.

Disney Cruise Line Informs Guests About 25th-Anniversary Fireworks Changes

Disney Cruise Silver Anniversary at Sea

Earlier today, Disney Cruise Line emailed guests sailing on Alaskan, European, and Westbound Transatlantic cruises. Guests were informed that there would not be experiencing the 25th-anniversary fireworks.

For many guests, this was not a surprise. Disney does not have the Pirates fireworks show in Alaska or Northern Europe for environmental reasons. Other guests on Bahamian, Mediterranean and Transatlantic cruises were surprised to receive this information.

Disney Cruise Silver Anniversary at Sea New Fireworks Show

The Eastbound Transatlantic cruise that sailed earlier this month did get to experience an abbreviated 25th-anniversary firework show. The show was cut short because a guest entered the restricted area during the fireworks. The fireworks were stopped for safety reasons.

The 25th-anniversary fireworks show will be featured on most 4-night or longer sailings visiting The Bahamas, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean this summer.

Disney Fireworks Cruise – The Ultimate Guide

  • Pinterest 388

disney cruise fireworks every night

A Disney fireworks cruise is a magical way to see the fireworks shows from a different angle. Imagine sitting in the middle of Seven Seas Lagoon or Bay Lake on a pontoon boat watching the sky above you light up with the amazing Disney fireworks displays. There is also the ability to have synchronised audio on the boat, so you can enjoy the full experience.

Boat rental at Walt Disney World doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. Speciality chartered fireworks cruises begin when the sun is still high in the sky, and end when the night is still and dark.

Sun tracker boat on Seven seas lagoon

Disney Speciality Cruises Locations

You are able to book speciality fireworks cruises to watch current nighttime shows at Disney World. These are currently Harmonious at Epcot , or Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom .

Harmonious cruises depart from Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort. You then travel to the International Gateway near World Showcase Lagoon to watch the amazing nighttime show.

view of Contemporary resort from Bay Lake

If you’re wishing to watch Disney Enchantment from the water, then you have a choice of departing locations. You can opt for Disney’s Contemporary resort, Polynesian Village, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness.

What’s Included In A Disney Fireworks Cruise

The 25 foot boat seats up to ten guests, and costs around $449 plus tax. This may seem like a lot of money, however when split between ten people it’s good value. Private fireworks for just $45 per person. You’re not only getting an amazing boat ride, but a skipper with plenty of Disney knowledge.

Let’s not forget about the snacks and drinks on board, as well as the amazing opportunity to see the fireworks in comfort and without the crowds.

Speciality cruises are also a great way to celebrate a special occasion. There are additional add ons you can request including balloons and champagne. What a perfect surprise for a special celebration!

Your experience will include a captain, assorted snacks and soft drinks. On our cruise, we set sail from the Contemporary resort 75 minutes before the Magic Kingdom fireworks were due to start. Our skipper spent plenty of time telling us lots of stories about the sights we saw as we toured Bay lake and Seven Seas Lagoon.

Ferrytale fireworks: a sparkling dessert cruise.

A few times a week, you can set sail to enjoy delicious desserts at the same time as watching the fireworks from Seven Seas Lagoon. Your check in will be at the Ticket and Transportation centre. From here you’ll board one of the Disney World ferries such as the general Joe Potter. Enjoy an evening of yummy desserts and amazing views of the night sky.

Our Disney Fireworks Cruise Experience

Leaving from Disney’s Contemporary Resort, our journey took us past Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian Resort, Fort Wilderness and The Grand Floridian. We also saw Discovery island that was in operation before Animal Kingdom was built. I was also surprised to be shown the old water park, River Country.

It was amazing to see so much and learn so many Disney facts that we wouldn’t have learned otherwise.

There were other boats out on the water, including the Grand 1 yacht which sails from the Grand Floridian resort. The Grand 1 begins at a cost of $349 per hour, so it would be a truly special experience to be onboard this yacht.

Disney fireworks with Magic Kingdom in background

We also spotted some Pirates and Pals cruise boats that sounded like a lot of fun. As the sun set, we arrived in front of the Magic Kingdom to some amazing views of everything lit up.

Our boat, a 25′ Tracker Pontoon, seats up to ten guests. On board the boat there was so much attention to detail for the guests. These included plenty of towels to use as blankets if needed, a tray of snacks and a cooler of drinks provided. We also had the music piped into the boat when the fireworks started, it was amazing.

I don’t know where the time went, but it flashed past so quickly. However, before we made our way back to the Contemporary Resort, we were treated to watching the Electrical Water pageant. This nighttime water parade travels around the resorts on Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon every night.

Electrical Water Parade

We’ve often spotted this in the distance as we’ve been walking back to the buses leaving Magic Kingdom. However this time we were so close to it on the water it was amazing.

We were safely delivered back to the Contemporary resort a little while later with big smiles on our faces. Whilst I hadn’t considered booking a fireworks cruise in the past, I wish I had read a little more about it. It truly was a unique and wonderful experience.

List of Fireworks Shows at Disney World

Disney World in July

Currently, there are four different fireworks shows at Walt Disney World. At Magic Kingdom, there is Happily Ever After . At EPCOT, there is the new Luminous The Symphony of Us . At Hollywood Studios, there are two fireworks shows Fantasmic! and the Wonderful World of Animation .

Happily Ever After is an 18-minute fireworks and projection mapping show that debuted in 2017 and is a fan-favorite in front of Cinderella’s Castle at the end of Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom. It focuses on the most popular of Disney Films, capturing the heart, humor, and heroism of the best of Disney stories.

Luminous The Symphony of Us is the newest nighttime fireworks show that debuted in December of 2023, replacing the former Harmonious show. It’s a dramatic show designed to bring all of us together set on the World Showcase Lagoon between all of the World Showcase countries.

Fantasmic! is the longest-running fireworks show in Disney, and debuted in 1998. It takes place off of Sunset Boulevard behind the Terror of Terror attraction inside a 7,900-seat Hollywood Hills Amphitheater.

Fantasmic is a fictional look at Mickey’s dream as the forces of good and evil battle it out in an open-air musical. It’s less fireworks and more a show.

Wonderful World of Animation is a 12-minute show that takes you on an incredible journey of more than 90 years of Disney and Pixar animation. It is in front of the Chinese Theatre each night, and you’ll see the themes celebrated of magic, family, adventure, romance, and friendship.

Does Disney Have a Fireworks Show Every Night?

Happily Ever After Fireworks Magic Kingdom

Yes! EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom all have fireworks shows each night. Sometimes Fantasmic! will run multiple times a night, and it’s the only show that sometimes happens more than once.

There are certain times such as special events most notably during the holiday time when they have special events with the parks closing earlier, meaning there aren’t fireworks shows for the general public.

But just to be sure, please check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit.

What Time are the Fireworks at Disney World?

EPCOT Park Hours fireworks in Japan

These times can sometimes change from season to season so please be sure to check the My Disney Experience app to ensure these times are still accurate. Currently, here are the showtimes.

  • Magic Kingdom : Happily Ever After is either at 8:00 pm or 8:30 pm nightly.
  • EPCOT : Luminous The Symphony of Us is at 9:00 pm every night.
  • If Fantasmic! has two showtimes they will be at 8:00 pm and 9:30 pm. If they only have one showtime it’ll be at 9:00 pm.
  • Wonderful World of Animation is at 8:30 pm each night.

Magic Kingdom – Happily Ever After Fireworks

Happily Ever After Fireworks Magic Kingdom from behind the castle

Location: Happily Ever After is a combination of a fireworks show and a projection show at Magic Kingdom. The fireworks are above Cinderella’s Castle and the projections are both along Main Street, U.S.A., and in front of Cinderella’s Castle.

Time : The time slots change quite frequently for Happily Ever After more so than any of the other fireworks shows. Right now the time slot is either at 8:00 pm or 8:30 pm depending on the night.

Show Length: The entire show is just over 18 minutes long.

Show Overview: Happily Ever After is a powerfully moving show that showcases many of the Disney Classic Films. You’ll see favorites such as Frozen, Toy Story, Jungle Book, and Pirates of the Caribbean all brought to life along projections along the castle.

The combination of storytelling, outstanding projection mapping technology, and fireworks makes for an unforgettable show.

Magic Kingdom Fireworks Disney World in July

Age Interest: All ages but if you or someone in the group is sensitive to loud noises be mindful of where the speakers are.

Best Viewing Location: This is one of those shows that you want to be as close to the action as possible. Right in front of the castle is ideal, making sure you don’t have any tree lines in your views while looking at the castle. We love the hub grass area which is directly in front of the castle. Directly to the right of the left of the Partners Statue is also a great area.

Is it Worth Seeing?: Absolutely! This is one of our favorite nighttime shows of all-time and due to its popular demand, Disney brought back Happily Ever After after attempting to replace it with an inferior show for a short period.

EPCOT – Luminous The Symphony of Us Fireworks

Luminous The Symphony of Us EPCOT fireworks show

Location: Luminous takes place on the World Showcase Lagoon in between the World Showcase Countries at EPCOT.

Time: Luminous is currently a nighttime show that runs at 9:00 each evening. During busier time periods they will occasionally push the showtime back to 9:30, most notably during holiday times.

Show Length: The entire show is about 17 minutes long.

Show Overview: Luminous The Symphony of Us is designed to utilize music, including classic Disney songs to unite people together with the different countries as a backdrop. In addition to some Disney classics, there is also original composition in the story. The central theme of the show is helping to remind us that we are more alike than different.

Age Interest: All ages. And while kids might not understand the deeper messaging of Luminous, they will enjoy the nods to Disney Classic films as well as the spectacular fireworks.

Luminous The Symphony of Us EPCOT fireworks show

Best Viewing Location: Unlike Happily Ever After Ever in Magic Kingdom, Luminous has significantly more places to watch. With the massive amount of viewing areas around the World Showcase, you don’t have to look hard for a decent spot to see the show.

A few of our favorite places to watch are the World Showcase Plaza, the Italy Isola, either side of the American Gardens Theater, and between Mexico and Norway.

If you can get into either Rose & Crown, Spice Road Table, or Shiki-Sai Izakaya you can have a great view of the show while eating dinner.

This isn’t an exhaustive list as there are dozens of great places to watch Luminous. We’ve found these to be the best balance of seeing the fireworks as well as the fountains.

Is it Worth Seeing?: Yes! We thoroughly enjoy Luminous far more so than EPCOT Forever and Harmonious, the prior two shows. While it’s not perfect, we think most are thoroughly impressed since it’s opened up.

Hollywood Studios – Fantasmic!

Fantasmic! show at Hollywood Studios lights and fountains

Location: Hollywood Hills Amphitheater behind the Tower of Terror attraction at Hollywood Studios. The walkway to enter the amphitheater is before getting to the Tower of Terror on the right side of Sunset Boulevard.

Time: If Fantasmic! has two showtimes they will be at 8:00 and 9:30 pm. If they only have one showtime it’ll be at 9:00 pm. They only have two showtimes on the busier days.

Show Length: Fantasmic! is 29 minutes long in total, making it the longest Disney nighttime show.

Show Overview: Fantasmic! is the only seated Disney World fireworks show, meaning that the majority of guests will be seated on bleachers around the amphitheater.

This show follows the story of Mickey’s dream as he joins the other good Disney characters in a battle of good against evil classic Disney villains featuring pyrotechnics, projections, and water effects. It isn’t so much a ‘fireworks show’ like in the other parks, it’s more of a full nighttime spectacular.

Mickey Mouse fireworks from Sword Fantasmic! show Hollywood Studios

Age Interest: While it’s good for all ages, we understand it can be a little scary for some smaller kids due to the villains being predominantly featured and some scarier fire scenes. Use discretion when it comes to your kids, and while we think most would be OK, we know some kids do get a little bit scared.

Best Viewing Location: Depending on when you enter the amphitheater you might not have a whole lot of choice as to where you sit and you’ll just be thrilled with getting a seat. But if you get in early and you have choices, I’d encourage you to find a center section area so that you don’t have any obstructions in your way.

Make sure wherever you are seated you have a clear view of the stage area and the water. Keep in mind the first few rows you might get a bit wet from the spray of the water.

Is it Worth Seeing?: Yes! We love Fantasmic! and each time we go we are reminded how great it is. It feels like classic Disney and you can tell the show was built in the 90s and that’s a great thing!

Hollywood Studios – Wonderful World of Animation

Wonderful World of Animation Hollywood Studios

Location: A projection show and fireworks show that takes place in front of and around the facade of the Chinese Theatre at the front of Hollywood Studios.

Time: Currently the show takes place each night at 8:30.

Show Length: In total, the Wonderful World of Animation show is 12 minutes long.

Show Overview: Wonderful World of Animation is Hollywood Studios’ version of Happily Ever After. It’s mostly a projection show with some fireworks sprinkled in. The main premise of the show is to take you on a historical journey of 90 years of Disney and Pixar animation.

You’ll follow classic and unforgettable Disney films, helping you appreciate it all started with a mouse! If you enjoy Disney History and Disney classic films, you’ll enjoy this.

Wonderful World of Animation Hollywood Studios

Age Interest: A great family-friendly show for all members of the family.

Best Viewing Location: Similar to Happily Ever After, I’d encourage you to find a spot front and center for this show. You don’t want to be too close to the theater, but you don’t want to be too far back either.

Find a good place in the center where you can see the entire facade of the Chinese Theatre in addition to the fireworks that will take place above the theater.

Is it Worth Seeing?: Yes. While it’s not a must-do show for us on every visit to Hollywood Studios, it’s a really cute show that is worth doing if you’re going to be staying in the park.

Seven Seas Lagoon – Electrical Water Pageant

disney cruise fireworks every night

Location: The Electrical Water Pageant takes place nightly along the Seven Seas Lagoon around Magic Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom Resorts.

Time: Each night the show takes place between 8:25 pm to 10:30 pm.

Show Length: In total, the show is about 15 minutes long, and that’s how long it stays at each location starting at the Polynesian Village.

Show Overview: The Electrical Water Pageant is a nighttime show that is essentially a floating parade on the water of the Seven Seas Lagoon. It uses whimsical sea creatures that are lit up in a myriad of beautifully colored lights (50,000 lights) that slowly sail along the lagoon to the sounds of classic Disney tunes.

The pageant is composed of 14 different 40-foot-long floats featuring several different sea life such as dolphins, serpents, and sea monsters. You watch this parade at the various different MagIc Kingdom-area resorts or even at Magic Kingdom itself.

Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake across the lake at night

Age Interest: This show appeals to all members of the family. Kids in particular love the show due to its whimsical floats and brightly lit twinkling lights coming from the creatures.

Best Viewing Location: Any of the Magic Kingdom-area resorts have great viewing spots such as the Polynesian Village Resort, the Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness, and the Contemporary. You can even watch the parade at Magic Kingdom as it finishes at its end around 10:20 pm if the park is still open.

Is it Worth Seeing?: If you’re going to be at Magic Kingdom or one of the Magic Kingdom Resorts, then absolutely! It’s part of Disney World History opening just a few weeks after the opening of Magic Kingdom in 1971 making it an even more beloved show.

With fewer and fewer things at Walt Disney World remaining in place since those early days, the Electrical Water Pageant is one of the few things that has lasted the test of time.

Why Doesn’t Animal Kingdom Have Nighttime Shows?

Tree of Life Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary

In short, it’s complicated. For a while, Disney’s Animal Kingdom DID have a nighttime show entitled Rivers of Light. With innumerable complications and infrastructural issues, it kept getting delayed and delayed until it finally opened up in February of 2017.

The problem was that many guests were unhappy with the storytelling of the story being completely devoid of any Disney Characters. The show had little support from spectators and it was later updated and changed to Rivers of Light: We Are One which featured beloved Disney Characters.

This show only lasted from Memorial Day Weekend in 2019 until the parks closed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, since then, no nighttime show has come back to Animal Kingdom, unlike the rest of the Disney Theme Parks.

There are multiple reasons why Animal Kingdom does not currently have a nighttime show. First of all, the park is only open until 6:00 or 7:00 pm for most times of the year. Current Animal Kingdom demand does not force them to reconsider keeping the park open later, which they would NEED to do to have a nighttime show.

Rivers of Light Show Animal Kingdom

If Rivers of Light or Rivers of Light: We Are One had greater popularity or demand, obviously Animal Kingdom would have considered keeping the park open later after the parks reopened. But sadly, it didn’t despite the changes to the show.

And with guests frequently leaving the park in the afternoon hours these days, they just fail to have the park attendance to call for a nighttime show again. So many things will need to change for them to need to have a nighttime show again.

Animal Kingdom despite previous additions is still considerably less attended than the other three parks. For that to change, Disney will need to invest significantly in the park to increase park demand. We expect that to happen since they announced a big expansion for the park in the coming years but in the meantime Animal Kingdom still has some catching up to do!

If Animal Kingdom can add some high-profile attractions there is no doubt that park demand can increase, making them consider adding additional hours to the park once again as they had in 2017-2019.

If this happens, adding a nighttime show would likely be a guarantee! We expect this to happen, but it is likely going to be a few more years until Animal Kingdom is in the shape they want it to be for making it work creating a new nighttime show.

Fireworks Dessert Parties

Disney World Dessert Parties

Currently, there are five permanent Fireworks Dessert Parties. And they are ALL at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park or just outside . Unfortunately, the ones at EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom are all currently suspended, though we hope they come back soon!

Fireworks Dessert Parties are an awesome way for guests to enjoy the nighttime fireworks shows and have some terrific food and views! With Magic Kingdom that will be of course enjoying the wonderful nighttime show Happily Ever After.

The five permanent Magic Kingdom Dessert Parties for 2024 are as follows:

  • Magic Kingdom Fireworks Pre-Party Dessert Party

Disney World Dessert Parties

  • Costs for the Pre-Party range from $99-$109 per adult and $59 per child (ages 3 to 9).

The main difference between this party from the Seats & Sweets Party is that you’ll get a different viewing area. Your viewing area will be inside the Plaza Gardens. Guests coming to this party will enjoy their desserts and drinks PRIOR to the show.

  • Magic Kingdom Fireworks Post-Party

Disney Enchantment nighttime fireworks

  • Costs for the Post-Party range from $99-$109 per adult and $59 per child (ages 3 to 9).

This is a POST-party show meaning that you will still check in an hour before the show starts at Tomorrowland Terrace. Then right before the show begins, a guest experience cast member will bring you to a private viewing area of the show.

Then you will enjoy your desserts and treats AFTER the show as a Cast Member ushers you back to Tomorrowland Terrace.

  • Magic Kingdom Fireworks Seats & Sweets Party

Disney World Dessert Parties

  • Costs for the Seats & Sweets range from $119-$129 per adult and $75 per child (ages 3 to 9).

This party is a little bit more expensive as you will be able to sit inside the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant during the actual show with tremendous views instead of being ushered into a separate area.

All three of these parties take place at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant where they can enjoy a variety of cheeses, beverages (beer and wine for guests above 21), and of course desserts. The pre and post-parties enjoy a separate standing viewing area whereas the Seats & Sweets Party are able to sit inside Tomorrowland Terrace the entire time.

  • Celebration at the Top – Sip, Savor, Sparkle

Happily Ever After Fireworks Magic Kingdom from California Grill Contemporary Resort

  • Costs for this nighttime party are $129 per adult and child.

Unlike the other three shows, this party takes place inside the California Grill Restaurant atop the Contemporary Resort. This resort is RIGHT next to Magic Kingdom and is easily walkable.

Here you are able to enjoy sushi, small bites, and some of your favorite dishes and desserts from California Grill. As showtime approaches you can step out onto the private observation deck to view an incredible view of Happily Ever After.

After the show, you’ll head back inside to enjoy desserts, cordials, and coffee.

  • Ferrytale Fireworks Party: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise

Magic Kingdom fireworks cruise in front of Main Street train station

  • This Dessert Cruise costs $130 per adult and $80 per child. (Ages 3 to 9)

While this party isn’t IN the park, it’s a Disney Dessert party at sea. Here you’ll hop aboard an iconic Magic Kingdom ferryboat and learn about the the history and background of these vessels while enjoying desserts and beverages. Your night will end by watching Happily Ever After from your dessert cruise ferryboat!

In addition to the five dessert parties they run throughout the year, there are also seasonal dessert parties that take place around the time of the Disney Holiday Parties. These are:

Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party

  • Costs for the Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party range are $119-$129 per adult and $75 per child (ages 3 to 9). Costs for this are another ticket on top of Mickey’s Not So Scary Party Ticket.

This dessert party is of course only held on select nights during the Halloween season. It’s also ONLY offered on nights that the Halloween party is running. Keep in mind, you will be watching Mickey’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks show NOT Happily Ever After.

Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party

  • Costs for the Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party range from $109-$119 per adult and $59-$75 per child (ages 3 to 9). The costs depend on whether you want a Tomorrowland Terrace View or the Plaza Gardens View.

Similar to the Halloween Party, this dessert party is only held on select nights during the Christmas Season AND when the Christmas Party is taking place, and it is a separate admission on top of the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party event.

You will be viewing Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks and NOT Happily Ever After for this dessert party.

Fireworks Dining Packages

Dining room 50's Prime Time Cafe old kitchen

In addition to the Fireworks Dessert Parties we just talked about, there are also Fireworks Dining Packages. These dining packages entitle you to a special viewing of the fireworks shows at the different Disney Theme Parks. Currently, these are offered at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios .

For EPCOT, you’ll enjoy an awesome view to be able to enjoy your meal while you’re watching a viewing of Luminous. At Hollywood Studios, you will be able to get a voucher so that you can enjoy a guaranteed spot in a reserved area to watch Fantasmic!

At EPCOT , there are currently two restaurants that are participating in this: Rose & Crown and Spice Road Table. Here’s what you’ll get:

  • Cost $92 per adult including tax and gratuity and $41 per child (ages 3 to 9)
  • You’ll be able to get an appetizer, an entree, a dessert platter, and unlimited beverages (including alcohol)
  • You’ll be seated on an outdoor patio area to watch Luminous

  • Choice of two small plates, a shared tagine and dessert platter for the table, and unlimited beverages.

Hollywood Studios

At Hollywood Studios, five restaurants are participating: 50’s Prime Time Cafe , Hollywood & Vine , Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano , Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant , and The Hollywood Brown Derby . All of these restaurants work the same way, the prices are just slightly different.

You’ll be able to order an entree, and then a choice of appetizer OR dessert, along with a non-alcoholic beverage. For Hollywood & Vine, since it’s a buffet, you’ll be able to enjoy the full buffet of course. The costs are as follows:

  • Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant is $51 for adults and $23 per child (ages 3 to 9)
  • The Hollywood Brown Derby is $77 per adult and $31 per child (ages 3 to 9)

Seasonal Celebrations

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Fireworks

Disney routinely runs seasonal celebrations for the holidays. While we mentioned the seasonal dessert parties above, they run four different seasonal fireworks shows in total.

  • Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular – This special spirited pyrotechnical spectacular runs during the nights of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom. Dates for this run from August to October.
  • Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party – This Christmas party is a special ticketed event that runs in November and December in Magic Kingdom on select nights. You’ll join Mickey for live entertainment, a holiday parade, and of course themed festive fireworks.
  • Fourth of July Fireworks – Walt Disney World Resort commemorates Independence Day each year at Magic Kingdom with a patriotic and themed fireworks performance each year on July 4th.
  • New Year’s Eve Fireworks – Ring in the New Year at Magic Kingdom with a special fireworks presentation each year on New Year’s Eve.

How Much Does Disney World Spend on Fireworks per Night?

Disney Harmonious fireworks show

It’s a well-known fact that the World Disney World Company is the world’s second-largest buyer of explosives in the country after the Department of Defense. So the question is how much do they spend on fireworks each night?

While it’s impossible to know the exact number, some recent reports have said that the Disney Company between Disneyland and Walt Disney World spends about $100,000 per night, or $50 million per year on fireworks.

How this breaks down exactly we don’t know, but since obviously the Walt Disney World Resort is larger and has more shows, IF this number is accurate we’d expect somewhere between $55,000 and $75,000 per night amongst the different shows.

Does Disney Cancel Fireworks for Rain?

Happily Ever After Fireworks Magic Kingdom from Train Station on Main Street USA

While it does get canceled OCCASIONALLY if the storm is really bad and includes lightning, the truth of the matter is, it RARELY does.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stood outside in the pouring rain and the show still went on.

The one exception to this rule is Fantasmic! This show was canceled more than the other shows in bad weather due to the live actors and the danger of performing on slick surfaces. So if you are planning on seeing this show and the forecast is bad, there is a chance it will get canceled.

Where Can I Watch Disney Fireworks for FREE?

EPCOT fireworks from the Bridge between Disney's BoardWalk and Beach Club

Many think that they will need theme park admission to watch the Disney Fireworks. And while normally the best views are inside the parks, there are some great ‘free’ places to watch the fireworks as well.

Here are a few of our favorites to watch Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom :

  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort – Watch the fireworks on the 4th-floor observation deck at the Contemporary. Here you’ll have a prime location to get great views of the show! Keep in mind that at times, this deck does get booked as a private event, so you won’t be able to use it. Ask at the front desk to know for sure.
  • Disney Polynesian Resort Beach – Situated directly opposite the Magic Kingdom along the Seven Seas Lagoon, grab a beach chair and relax on the beach while you enjoy views of the show!
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort – Take a walk along the grounds of the Grand Floridian and head to the back by the marina and Gasparilla Grill. There are some great views of the fireworks from there or along the boat dock near Narcoossee’s Restaurant.
  • Boat from Wilderness Lodge – Head to the Wilderness Lodge dock a few minutes before showtime and get on the next boat to Magic Kingdom. If you time it right, you’ll get some INCREDIBLE views of the fireworks without having to pay a dime!

If you want to get a decent view of Luminous at EPCOT , head to Disney’s BoardWalk and walk along the BoardWalk before the start of the show. There are tons of things to do at the BoardWalk , but if you want the best views stay along the bridge that connects the BoardWalk and the Swan and Dolphin Hotels. You’ll get some solid views of the show!

That wraps up our look at all the fireworks shows and nighttime spectaculars at Walt Disney World. We think they are one of the highlights of any vacation and deserve all the attention they get. Hopefully, now you have a better understanding of them and can make them a priority on your next trip.

Ziggy Knows Disney close

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.

We just returned from WDW and without a doubt the Epcot show was the best ever! Grab a dessert in France and enjoy The Magic Kingdom was way too packed and unless you want to arrive 2 hours early hard to stand for so long with limited seating

Hi Mike, I'm really glad you liked the show. It's an improvement on Harmonious to me, though not to the level of Illuminations imo. I live in the France bakery so I'm right there with you on that advice

Thanks Ziggy. Inspires me to go to the shows even though I've seen them. Good article.

Thanks Marion!

Yes I would like a night time show again at Animal Kingdom !

Hi Carroll, thanks for the comment. I know, the park is really missing that nighttime element to get guests to stick around. I think a new show and bringing in a few new attractions in the Dinoland area would be a great first step

Disney World Fireworks and Nighttime Spectaculars: Your Complete Guide

by Jenna Saxton | May 29, 2024 | WDW Blog

disney world fireworks happily ever after

A comprehensive guide to Disney World fireworks and all of the nighttime spectaculars available at Walt Disney World Resort.

Can you name a better way to end your day at Disney World other than fireworks? …we’ll wait.

Disney World fireworks and nighttime entertainment have become some of the most popular shows in all four parks. And, soon there will even be a spectacular way to cap off the night at Disney Springs! But, with so many shows, knowing when they occur and finding the best spots can be difficult. Luckily, we’ve got all those details in one easy place! Keep reading for our complete guide to Disney World fireworks, projections, drone shows, and more. Jump ahead to a specific section below!

Magic Kingdom Nighttime Entertainment

Epcot nighttime entertainment, disney’s hollywood studios nighttime entertainment, disney’s animal kingdom nighttime entertainment, disney world resort hotels nighttime entertainment, happily ever after fireworks.

Happily Ever After fireworks is perhaps one of the most popular fireworks shows in Walt Disney World. The show takes place every night at 9:20 PM in Magic Kingdom at Cinderella Castle and is about 18 minutes long. It features colorful projections on Cinderella Castle that are synchronized with fireworks and music that includes both classic and contemporary Disney songs. Plus, there’s even an original song by Jordan Fisher and Angie Keilhauer.

Best Viewing Locations

As one of the most anticipated events in the park every night, it attracts large crowds, with guests often securing viewing spots hours in advance to ensure they have the best view. We recommend watching from the Central Hub Grass in front of Cinderella Castle, near the Partners Statue, in the Middle of Main Street, U.S.A. (if you want to see the projections down the street as well), or the Main Street Train Station.

Be mindful of trees, lamp posts, and other potential obstructions that could block your view when choosing your spot! You don’t want to wait in what you think is a perfect spot for 30-60 minutes before the show just to find out that you don’t actually have the perfect view.

And, if you really want to avoid the crowds and not have to worry about finding a spot well before the show starts, consider watching from Fantasyland, Frontierland, or Liberty Square. All of these locations offer a unique perspective of the fireworks and are often much less crowded. Just note that you won’t be able to see the castle projections that are part of the show from these locations. Learn more about alternative viewing areas here.

Dining Packages

Prefer not to worry about finding the best viewing location for the show? Consider adding on a Happily Ever After dessert party to your vacation! Three dessert parties are currently offered in Magic Kingdom that include a variety of eats and drinks, plus a guaranteed viewing area. Here are your options:

  • Includes: A variety of desserts, fruits, cheeses, and beverages (including sparkling cider, coffee, tea, and lemonade) at Tomorrowland Terrace.
  • Viewing Location: After enjoying the desserts, guests are escorted to a reserved viewing area in the Plaza Garden.
  • Price: Approximately $99-$109 per adult and $59 per child (ages 3-9).
  • Includes: A variety of desserts, fruits, cheeses, and beverages served after the fireworks show.
  • Viewing Location: Guests watch the fireworks from a reserved area in the Plaza Garden, then head to Tomorrowland Terrace for the dessert party.
  • Includes: A variety of desserts, fruits, cheeses, and beverages at Tomorrowland Terrace.
  • Viewing Location: Guests remain at Tomorrowland Terrace to watch the fireworks from their seats.
  • Price: Approximately $119-$129 per adult and $75 per child (ages 3-9).

Luminous The Symphony of Us

Luminous The Symphony of Us is the newest addition to Disney World’s EPCOT, offering a breathtaking nightly fireworks show that begins at 9 PM and lasts for 17 minutes. This unique show takes place on World Showcase Lagoon and combines fireworks, fountains, lighting effects, and a unique musical score filled with Disney classics to create an immersive experience that celebrates the unity and diversity of humanity.

As a brand new show, Luminous The Symphony of Us has quickly become a must-see attraction, drawing large crowds that gather around the World Showcase each night. Because the show takes place in the center of the lagoon, there can be quite a few things that obscure your view if you don’t find the right place to watch. So, be sure to secure your spot early if you want to have the best view of these Disney World fireworks, and consider watching from World Showcase Plaza, the elevated area near the pagoda and the gardens in the Japan Pavilion, the Italy Pavilion, the United Kingdom Pavilion near the Rose & Crown Pub, or the bridge between the France and United Kingdom Pavilions.

Best Places to Watch EPCOT Disney World Fireworks

If you want a quick exit out of the park after the fireworks, the best places to watch are World Showcase Plaza or the bridge between the France and United Kingdom Pavilions depending on what hotel you’re staying at. Learn more about the best places to watch EPCOT fireworks here.

While there are a lot of places to watch Luminous The Symphony of Us, you can make the show a bit more of an experience by purchasing a dining package. These are available at several waterfront restaurants including the Rose & Crown Dining Room (located in the United Kingdom Pavilion) and Spice Road Table (located in the Morocco Pavilion). The dining packages give you guaranteed waterfront seating so that you can enjoy your meal and a great view of the show. Here are your current options:

  • Includes: One appetizer, one entrée, one dessert, and a selection of unlimited beverages.
  • Viewing Location: Guests are seated outside on the patio at Rose & Crown Dining Room overlooking World Showcase Lagoon.
  • Price: Approximately $92 per adult and $41 per child (ages 3-9).
  • Includes: Your choice of 2 small plates, a shared tagine, a dessert platter, and unlimited beverages.
  • Viewing Location: Guests are seated under a covered, outdoor dining area.
  • Price: Approximately $81 per adult and $31 per child (ages 3-9).

Fantasmic! is one of the longest running nighttime shows in Disney World and is much more than just a fireworks show – it’s an entire performance! Taking place in its own designated amphitheater, the show takes you into the imagination of Mickey Mouse as he battles Disney villains in a “dreamlike” adventure with a blend of fireworks, water projections, live performers, and beloved Disney characters. Recent updates have introduced new scenes and characters, so the show will feel a bit newer, even if you’ve seen it before! It occurs nightly at 9 PM in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and is approximately 30 minutes long.

Mickey entrance during Fantasmic!

A lot of people want to see Fantasmic! during their Hollywood Studios visit, so the line to get in and find the best seating can be long. If you want the best chance at having a great seat, you can get in line as early as 90 minutes before the show. Luckily, the amphitheater curves around the lagoon and stage, so really where you’re seated is a great seat. However, if you want the very best view, we recommend sitting in the Mickey section (which is the center-most section of the theater) or the lower rows (within the first ten rows). If the center sections are full, aim for seats towards the front of the amphitheater but slightly off-center. These still offer good views and can be less crowded than the prime center sections.

If you’d prefer not to wait in line early to get the best view, we recommend that you consider purchasing a Fantasmic! dining package. These are available at several popular restaurants in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and come with dinner and reserved seating in the middle section of the amphitheater. Just note that you have to arrive at least 25 minutes before showtime to be seated in the reserved section, so be sure to time your dining reservation accordingly. Here are the restaurants where dining packages are currently available:

  • Includes: One entrée and appetizer or dessert and a non-alcoholic beverage.
  • Viewing Location: The reserved seating area for guests is in the middle of the amphitheater. Note that seating is first come, first served.
  • Price: Approximately $54 per adult and $23 per child (ages 3-9).
  • Includes: Full buffet and non-alcoholic beverage.
  • Price: Approximately $59 per adult and $39 per child (ages 3-9) for breakfast; Approximately $75 per adult and $49 per child (ages 3-9) for lunch and dinner.
  • Price: Approximately $56 per adult and $23 per child (ages 3-9).
  • Price: Approximately $51 per adult and $23 per child (ages 3-9).
  • Price: Approximately $77 per adult and $31 per child (ages 3-9).

Wonderful World of Animation

Wonderful World of Animation is a nightly show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that celebrates over 90 years of Disney and Pixar animated films. Scheduled at 9PM and lasting 12 minutes, the show features state-of-the-art projection mapping on the Chinese Theatre in the center of the park. Through technology, the show brings fan-favorite characters and scenes to life in a unique display of color and light on the park icon. The show highlights the rich history of Disney animation, including scenes from classics like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Sleeping Beauty and modern favorites such as Frozen, Coco, and Moana .

Because Wonderful World of Animation only features projections, the closer you are to the Chinese Theater, the better. We recommend finding a spot anywhere on Hollywood Boulevard facing the Chinese Theater if you want a quick exit, or standing near the center stage in front of the Chinese Theater for the best view. You may also want to consider watching from the Echo Lake area near the entrance to Hollywood & Vine or the 50’s Prime Time Café if you want to be close to some dining options for before or after the show.

Dining packages and reserved seating are not available for Wonderful World of Animation at Hollywood Studios.

Tree of Life Awakening

While traditional fireworks shows aren’t available at Disney’s Animal Kingdom because of all the animals that call the park home, you can still experience a unique show in the evening before you leave! The Tree of Life Awakening is a unique show that features projections on the trunk of the park icon that bring the carvings to life. Beginning after sunset, it occurs every 10 minutes until the park closes and features various short vignettes of animated scenes of animals and natural landscapes accompanied by music.

The Tree of Life Awakening is a short, ongoing nightly show. So, while you’ll likely find groups of people gathered around the park icon, it’s not necessarily hard to find a spot because people are constantly coming and going. For the most straightforward view, we recommend watching from directly in front of the Tree of Life on Discovery Island. You can also get a good view from the seating area near Flame Tree Barbeque, the Discovery Island Trails that circle the Tree of Life, and the area between the Tree of Life and the It’s Tough to Be a Bug! Entrance.

Just remember to stay flexible! If a spot seems too crowded, try moving around Discovery Island to find a less populated viewing area. The Tree of Life has projections on multiple sides, so different spots can offer unique perspectives.

Dining packages and reserved seating are not available for the Tree of Life Awakening at Animal Kingdom.

Disney Springs Nighttime Entertainment

Disney dreams that soar.

Disney Dreams That Soar is the newest nighttime entertainment coming to Disney World and the FIRST EVER drone show at Disney Springs ! Taking place twice every night for a limited time between May 24th and September 2nd, 2024, this 9-minute show will showcase some of your favorite Disney stories through drones! Thousands of drones will take to the sky to create scenes and icons from Peter Pan, Dumbo, Wall-E, Big Hero 6, Star Wars, and more. And, of course, they will be coordinated with a soundtrack of Disney music and one original song that was created just for the show.

You can watch Disney Dreams That Soar from Disney Springs West Side. The best vantage points are along the waterfront between the Cirque du Soleil Theatre and Aerophile – The World Leader in Balloon Flight. All of the viewing areas are first-come, first-served, but there’s really not a “bad” place to watch since the show takes place high in the sky.

Dining packages and reserved seating are not available for Disney Dreams That Soar at Disney Springs.

Electrical Water Pageant

The Electrical Water Pageant is a beloved nightly tradition that has been a part of Disney World’s nighttime entertainment since 1971. This floating parade of illuminated sea creatures and Disney characters travels along Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon, stopping at select resorts between 8:25 PM and 10:30 PM every night. At each stop, the pageant lasts for approximately 15 minutes, showcasing twinkling lights, whimsical music, and a patriotic finale.

It can be seen from the shores at the following Disney World Resort hotels:

  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Be sure to check the My Disney Experience app for the exact times and locations, as the schedule can vary based on what resort you plan to watch from.

The best place to watch the Electrical Water Pageant depends on what resort you’re staying at! Here’s a breakdown of where to find the best views at each:

  • Beach Area: The beach provides a relaxing and unobstructed view of the pageant. Bring a towel or blanket to sit on and enjoy the show right by the water.
  • Barefoot Pool Bar: This area offers a comfortable spot to watch the pageant while enjoying a refreshing drink.
  • Marina Area: The marina offers a great view of the pageant as it passes by. You can sit on the benches or stand along the railing.
  • Boat Dock: This area is slightly elevated, giving you a clear view of the water parade.
  • The parade can also be seen from Narcoossee’s if you have a dining reservation.
  • Marina Area: The marina provides a fantastic vantage point for watching the pageant. It’s a quieter area with fewer crowds.
  • Skybridge: The bridge connecting the main tower to Bay Lake Tower offers an elevated view, though it’s slightly further away.
  • Geyser Point Bar & Grill: This open-air lounge offers a comfortable spot to watch the pageant while enjoying food and drinks.
  • Beach Area: The beach provides a direct and unobstructed view of the water parade, making it an ideal spot for families.
  • Marina Area: The marina and boat launch area offer a clear and close view of the pageant as it passes by. It’s a popular spot for campers.
  • Beach Area: Similar to other resorts, the beach provides a relaxed and scenic spot to watch the parade.

Dining packages and reserved seating are not available for the Electrical Water Pageant at Disney Resorts.

No matter what nighttime entertainment you’re excited to see, be sure to arrive early and scope out the best spot. Disney World’s shows draw large crowds for a reason so don’t miss out! Game Over: Disney Park Permanently Axes Fireworks as of Today

in Disney Parks

Disneyland Paris New Year's Eve Fireworks

Last night marked the final performance of one of Disney’s most popular fireworks displays.

Whether you’re at Disneyland Resort or Tokyo Disney Resort, nighttime spectaculars are part of the package of any magical Disney day. While some are more popular than others (sorry to Mickey’s Mix Magic , but you’ll never be famous), there’s still no better way to wrap up the evening than a blend of pyrotechnics and nostalgic music celebrating decades of Disney magic.

A group of people watches a vibrant fireworks display at night, with one person wearing glowing mickey mouse ears. they are standing by a railing, illuminated by the colorful bursts in the sky.

Related: “Fireworks Are Going Bye Bye,” Fans Mourn a Disney Park Tradition

In recent years, Disney has also started experimenting with blending new technology into its fireworks displays. Today, Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom and Wondrous Journeys at Disneyland use advanced projection mapping to make the experience even more immersive, while Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland have also incorporated illuminated water projection.

Drones are also increasingly playing a big role in Disney nighttime spectaculars. Disneyland Paris currently operates two nightly drone shows ( Avengers: Power the Night at Walt Disney Studios Park and Disney Electrical Sky Parade at Disneyland Park) in which pyrotechnics play second fiddle.

Minnie Mouse on Sleeping Beauty Castle and Casey Jr. in the sky during the Electrical Sky Parade

But while drones may be increasingly creeping into the French resort’s entertainment, fireworks are still the main attraction . The resort’s nightly show, Disney Dreams!, is a fan-favorite, with many considering it up there with the best.

As of last night, however, the show has now come to a permanent end.

May 30 marked the final performance of Disney Dreams! As of today (May 31), the resort will perform Disney Illuminations – just with a few amendments.

Fireworks explode and fan out above Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris

When the show returns this evening, it will be drastically reduced compared to the iteration that took place above Sleeping Beauty Castle until April 2023. According to DLP Report , the show’s live-action Beauty and the Beast (2017) section and half of the Frozen (2013) segments are thought to have been removed.

That leaves segments inspired by The Lion King (1994) ,  Finding Nemo (2003), The Little Mermaid (1989), and both the Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean franchises. Inevitably, these cuts have shortened the show. Disney Illuminations is now thought to last less than its previous 20-minute runtime.

Disney Dreams! lights up the sky with fireworks behind Sleeping Beauty Castle

Related: Confirmed – All Fireworks Axed From Two Disney Parks for the Entire Summer

While we’ll have to wait until this evening to see whether the shortened show still has the same impact, it’s still a shame to see something as magical as Disney Dreams! leave the park – seemingly forever.

Fortunately, there’s plenty more to look forward to in the coming years at Disneyland Paris. While Disneyland Park is still being woefully ignored by The Walt Disney Company (at least, for now), the neighboring Walt Disney Studios Park is currently in the process of constructing its own version of World of Frozen.

The park will also debut a totally transformed entrance area after shuttering Studio 1 earlier this year , and  welcome a brand-new Tangled (2010) attraction, a new restaurant, and a new lake area for its own nighttime spectaculars. Once complete, the park will also take on a new name:  Disney Adventure World (which hasn’t exactly proven popular with fans).

1. Celebrity Millennium: Bali, Malaysia and Thailand

Many singles gravitate towards exciting adventures in exotic destinations such as Bali, Malaysia and Thailand, which hold appeal simply because they provide such distinct scenery and such powerful cultural experiences.

Not all singles are willing or prepared to navigate these destinations on their own, however and this is where the Celebrity Millennium comes into play: an upscale cruise removes the hassle of planning and, instead, encourages you to relax in style.

This particular Celebrity Millennium adventure spans nearly two weeks, incorporating a unique blend of serene island adventures, cosmopolitan exploration and meaningful temple visits. Onboard, globally inspired menus and resort-style lounges are to be expected, along with plenty of adults-only spaces that will appeal to singles.

If Norway's iconic fjords are on your bucket list, you can't afford to miss this awe-inspiring Celebrity Apex trip . Departing from Southampton, the eight-night cruise meanders along the coast of Norway, hitting pleasant spots such as Geiranger or Kristiansand for spectacular scenery and outdoor adventures. Side trips are available and, with up to ten hours docked, there is plenty of time to explore at your own pace.

Accommodation options abound and, when traveling alone, the staterooms' king-size mattresses feel extra spacious. An adults-only solarium will appeal to relaxation-oriented solo travelers, while abundant dining and entertainment options make it easy to find and connect with new friends.

3. Celebrity Summit: Grand Heartland Adventure

If you're struggling to choose between glamorous onboard experiences and outdoorsy experiences on land, you're in luck: Celebrity Summit provides the best of both worlds with its various Cruisetour offerings. There are many excellent options that depart from Vancouver, Anchorage or Fairbanks — but the Grand Heartland Adventure is worth considering if you crave something new.

During the Grand Heartland Cruisetour, you'll explore the stunning Inside Passage by cruise ship, before docking in adventure-oriented destinations such as Juneau and Sitka. From there, you'll continue to observe national treasures such as the Hubbard Glacier. Further exploration takes place aboard a glass-domed railcar and even a riverboat.

There's also a lot to experience onboard. The AquaClass stateroom represents a true oasis for single travelers, but the exclusive cocktail lounge and martini bar also warrant a visit. With nearly two weeks of cruising and exploration, you'll have plenty of time to unwind on your own but can also form fast friendships with similarly adventurous travelers.

4. Celebrity Edge: Taste of Luxury

Cruises for singles over 50 often emphasize the finer things in life, like elevated cuisine or exquisite wines. These sophisticated details are in abundant supply aboard the Celebrity Edge, which offers a decidedly elegant experience with its Taste of Luxury tour. Although often frequented by retired couples, Celebrity Edge's trips work well as singles cruises.

Available for three or four nights, this remarkable journey begins in Sydney and primarily emphasizes curated on-board experiences. That being said, there are enticing opportunities to explore while docked in Tasmania. With such glamorous suites, restaurants and clubs on board, however, the best attractions can be enjoyed without ever leaving this luxury cruise ship.

5. Disney Wish: Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral

Don't assume that Disney cruise adventures are only for kids or families. If you are a proud Disney adult, you can make amazing memories aboard a thematic cruise for singles. This is a popular vacation among theme park enthusiasts, who enjoy a dose of Disney magic while also finding valuable opportunities to indulge and relax.

Disney Wish's three-night Bahamian cruise is also an excellent option for singles who crave a sea-based experience but only have a few days to spare. Yes, young travelers will be around, but there are plenty of adult-only spaces, including sports bars, dance clubs, dedicated pools and even an onboard spa and salon. Musicals, 3D films and fireworks encourage you to embrace your inner child.

6. Oceania Cruises: In the Path of Cartier — Boston to Montreal

As we've mentioned, smaller ships provide some of the best cruises for singles over 50. Not everyone desires a river-based trip, however and with Oceania Cruises , there is no need to choose between exclusivity and ocean liner grandeur.

A signature experience can be found aboard Oceania Cruises' iconic Nautica ship, which is calming, yet elegant. Echoing the journey of the famed explorer Jacques Cartier, this tour provides a powerful introduction to Quebec, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and New Brunswick.

The land-based excursions are highly educational and, of course, beautiful to behold, but there's also a lot to love on board. Belgian chocolate, Bulgari amenities and turndown service await, with many accommodations also providing spectacular views. Open-seating dining makes it easy to interact with other vacationers while wine-tasting and guest lectures promise plenty of onboard enrichment.

7. Oceania Riviera: Ancient World Wonders — Athens to Istanbul

Another appealing option for singles who prefer slightly smaller ships, Oceania Cruises' Ancient World Wonders tour provides stops at some of the world's most iconic locations, such as Santorini and Corfu. Adventures in Dubrovnik and Istanbul can also be expected. On board this remarkable vessel, you'll gaze in awe at the Lalique Grand Staircase and, in general, enjoy a refined ambiance.

Be prepared to try new flavors and forms of expression as you explore unique offerings such as the Artist Loft and Culinary Center. Deep relaxation awaits at the Aquamar Spa or within your luxuriously contemporary stateroom or suite. This ten-night voyage provides plenty of time to lose yourself in the grandeur of the ship and the treasures of Greece, Montenegro, Croatia and Turkey.
