COVID-19: What You Should Know before You Come

There are no longer any coronavirus restrictions for entry into the czech republic., measures and restrictions, nano drapes and respirators.

It is no longer mandatory to wear respirators or nano-masks in the Czech Republic. However, providers of inpatient and outpatient healthcare are entitled to stipulate in the internal regulations or an addendum thereto the obligation for patients to use a respirator or mask when entering the premises of the healthcare facility. Some hospitals have already made the wearing of respirators or nano-masks mandatory. The Ministry of Health recommends wearing a drape or respirator in health and social care facilities, public transport, and places with a high concentration of people.

Visitors who now travel visa-free will need to get approval prior to departure.

Americans eyed upcoming travel to European destinations slightly differently due to news of a requirement that was set to start in 2024 for U.S. passport holders. But now, EU officials have postponed the European Travel Information and Authorisation System ( ETIAS ) launch until spring of 2025.

SchengenVisaInfo.com, a website dedicated to the world's largest visa-free zone where 27 European countries abolished their internal borders known as the Schengen Area, first reported that an EU official confirmed ETIAS won't go live until May 2025, "due to continued delays with the introduction of the related Entry-Exit System (EES), which needs to be operational before ETIAS can be implemented."

An official for the European Union did not immediately respond to ABC News' request for comment.

What to know about ETIAS for US travelers

If you previously traveled to Europe without a visa, you will now need to apply for authorization through the ETIAS , before visiting.

Today, American travelers have visa-free access to 184 global destinations, according to the Henley Passport Index . And while the U.S. passport is currently ranked eighth-most powerful passport to own, that could be set to shift when the European Union adds its new documentation requirements for U.S. visitors.

The application form, which will be available on the official ETIAS website as well as a mobile application, has a fee of 7 euros or $7.79 U.S. dollars. All communication is done by email.

Once you are approved for travel, the authorization entitles visitors to stay in European countries that require ETIAS for up to 90 days within any 180-day period and travelers must be in possession of a valid ETIAS during their entire stay.

According to ETIAS, most applications should be processed within minutes, but in case an application takes longer, decisions will be sent within four days or up to 14 days if the applicant is asked to provide additional documentation.

The European Union encourages travelers to apply for an ETIAS authorization "well in advance of your planned journey."

Confirmation of application submission will be sent on email with a unique number that is needed for future reference.

Upon receiving ETIAS travel authorization, travelers are to ensure that their name, passport number and other information is correct because any mistake will prevent them from crossing the border.

If an application is refused, the email will include the reasons for the decision along with information about how to appeal.

ETIAS travel authorization is valid for three years, according to the EU, or until the travel document you used in your application expires, whichever comes first.

The ETIAS authorization is linked to a person's travel document -- such as a U.S. passport -- and both documents will be needed to board a flight, bus or ship to enter any of the European countries that require ETIAS.

Similar to international border requirements with a passport, the ETIAS authorization doesn't guarantee automatic right of entry. "Border guards will verify that you meet the entry conditions" and anyone who does not meet the conditions "will be refused entry," according to the EU.

Conditions for entry to the Czech Republic

Updated rules for entry to the Czech Republic.

As of December 27 th , 2021, the rules for entry into the Czech Republic will be tightened for foreign nationals. Foreign nationals (who are entitled to enter) travelling to the Czech Republic will have to present a negative PCR test result before the travel. This obligation applies also to vaccinated persons and persons who recovered from COVID-19 in the last six months. It applies to travels from all countries regardless of the level of risk of the COVID-19 transmission. Persons who are not vaccinated or who did not recover from COVID-19 in the last six months, have to undergo a PCR test between 5 th  and 7 th  day after arrival. This requirement does not apply to persons vaccinated with the COVID booster shot, children under 12 and children in the age group 12-18 years who are fully vaccinated (booster shot not required). Other exceptions are specified in the protective measure.

New Year’s Eve celebrations: For the period from December 30 th , 2021 to January 1 st , 2022, stricter entry conditions are introduced for short-term travels (up to 24 hours) with the aim to reduce travels to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Persons travelling to the Czech Republic will have to present a negative PCR test result before travel, the only exception applies to persons vaccinated with the booster shot.

Above mentioned rules are not applicable for Czech citizens and foreign nationals with permanent or long-term residence in the territory of the Czech Republic , current rules are still valid. If they arrive by a means of public transport, they are still allowed to only have the result of an antigen test instead of the result of an PCR test before entering the territory of the Czech Republic, and if they arrive individually (by car) such persons are exempt from the obligation to have a test before entering the territory of the Czech Republic. Vaccinated persons are exempt from testing.

Guide for Traveling to Prague

Traveling to Prague is quite easy. It's really up to you and your budget. You can fly to Prague, take the train, bus or drive.

Flying to Prague

Traveling to Prague is easiest by air. Many airlines fly to Prague and most of them offer  cheap flights to Prague . If you can, always  book early  and  be flexible  - especially with budget airlines. 

The  Prague Airport  is an ideal place to arrive and depart from. It's small, efficient and new. Delays are rare and passport control is tame compared to larger airports.

The airport has two main terminals, Terminal 1 and 2. In each one you'll find dining, information points and transfer services. If you need accommodation near the airport, try either of these  airport hotels .

You can  get to the airport  very quickly from the city center. The cheapest route is by public transportation. There are a few buses that service the airport and they link to different metro stations.  Read more about travel in Prague.  

If you prefer a taxi or transfer service, try the yellow  AAA Taxi  company. They seem to be the most reliable. They have an office in the arrivals hall and can quote you a rate before departure.

Train to Prague

Traveling to Prague by train is my favorite way to get here. Czech Republic is a beautiful country in all seasons and you'll see more by train than by any other method of travel.

Anyway,  Prague has two major train stations . This is  important to note  if you're arriving by train.

• The  main train station  is  Hlavní Nádraží . This station services most domestic routes although some international trains stop here as well. The abbreviation is often written as "hl.n."

The  Prague metro  stops here as well sharing the station's name. It's on the C line which is red on the  metro map .

• Most  international trains  arrive and depart from  Nádraží Holešovice . It's smaller than the main train station but also has a metro stop (C line).

Tip:  Buy tickets in advance for international destinations - even if it means going to the station a few days early. And, I always get a reserved seat especially in the summer months. This costs a bit more but saves you the hassle of looking for a seat everywhere.

Also to note: domestic routes can be quite busy Thursday - Sunday. Many people go away for the weekend in the warmer months - and trains get crowded especially Friday and Sunday afternoons.

Bus to Prague

Traveling to Prague by bus is the cheapest way to get here. You can find lots of cheap bus routes  from lots of destinations in Europe. And, buses are particularly useful for taking day trips from Prague to smaller destinations like Český Krumlov.

Most bus routes use the main bus station at  Florenc . Although, many international buses depart from the train station  Nádraží Holešovice .

Driving to Prague

Let's get this out of the way -- the  main problem  with traveling to Prague by car is...  What do you do with your car while you're here?  Because, you certainly won't need your car while you're here. (Unless of course, you plan to take day trips.)

Of course, still many people  rent a car  for their European trip.

Parking is very difficult  in Prague and quite expensive - especially in the city center. And, that's where you want to stay - near attractions.

Parking garages range from 15-40 eur/day. Sometimes you can find accommodation with free parking but it can be difficult and expensive.

Or, if you drive just outside the historical areas you can find  free parking . But, like most big European cities, car theft is always possible.

Aside from parking, the roads in the Czech Republic can be dangerous. Czech drivers can be particularly aggressive - especially compared to drivers in the U.S.

Traveling to Prague by Boat?

There are many river cruises that operate along the  Vltava River . But, at the moment there aren't transport options from other cities by boat.

Instead, I recommend just taking a river cruise while you're in Prague. There are many options from one hour tours to whole day journeys.

Top 5 airlines flying to prague.

The gate area was incredibly short staffed, with one representative manning 4-5 flights, which caused a 3 hr delay in boarding even though the plane was all ready to leave. Other flights also were delayed because of this. The flight crew was awesome and I feel bad for the only gate worker on call, but Delta needs to hire more employees.

Very frustrated with boarding gate crew. She announced the plane was small and they would be limiting us to one item to carry on. Not a problem for me as I understand the tiny planes have limited space!! Not the case here! It was a rather large plane and had plenty of room for bags! So because I don’t want to be one of “those people” who ignores the request to check a carry on I did so asking if I would be able to pick it up at the bottom of the ramp on arrival in Knoxville to which she responded “yes”! Then I watched as every other passenger held onto their 2 items and boarded!! Then when we arrived in Knoxville our 2 carry ons had been put with all the other luggage and we had to go to baggage pick up and wait for all the big checked bags to come off the carousel! So she lied!! Frustrating. Next time I won’t be so nice!

It was a good experience except when boarding a female flight attendant did not go out of her way to assist my teenage daughters in finding space for their carry-ons after their compartments were full.

On time departure, smooth trip, flight attendant told through passengers the gate we would arrive at and the gate our outbound flight was departing from. Early arrival

Checking in at the airport the agent only booked the first keg of my trip and had my checked luggage going to the airport with a layover! Never was issued a boarding pass for the second leg or received sticker fir my checked bag. All was well in the end! Delta agents helped to resolve the situation!!!

Delayed due to an ill passenger after loading. Not preventable on Delta's part. Was in first class. The seats are becoming worn and detaching from their velcro attachments. Only got snacks on flight. The attendant was not the friendliest.

I would fly again the whole experience was great. The only feed back I can give that they don't do that American Airlines does is the crew there is more humorous with boarding and thank their passengers. It makes it more fun to fly with them. I would however fly Delta again.

Big plane, long flight, absolutely no leg room and basically non existent air! I am 5”4’ and always travel Main Cabin, I was miserable on this plane and could barely move when we arrived in Cabo due to the cramped leg area!

From Atlanta to Cabo I would have hoped on a plane that size I would have been able to breathe and wiggle my feet a little! The leg room in that plane is non existent and I am only 5”4’. And the air vent either wasn’t working very well or just could not blow air from the ceiling to the seat area as I was suffocating through the entire flight! And please don’t say I would have been more comfortable in first class because I cannot afford those rates and have always travelled Main Cabin without issues !

The pilots were good. Disappointing when planes don't have electrical ports

Should have video screens Plane audio was poor and without wired connection hard to understand crew. Should serve more than just cups of water and pretzels on six hour flight. Did not see crew rest of flight. Fix charging sockets to retain charging blocks.

I paid $380 for my one-way ticket from California to Minnesota. The fair did not include online check-in. I received instructions from their app to check in at a kiosk. At the kiosk, the boarding pass would not print until an actual person came to verify that I had a personal item and not a carry-on item, On the plane, the person next to me was drunk and allowed to continue to order alcohol. United is garbage I’d rather fly spirit.

The plane was dirty and the in seat air wasn't blowing as planes usually do.

Generally good but there wasn’t any staff available when my luggage didn’t appear at baggage claim in Fresno. It took about half an hour to locate a staff member to open up the locked room where it was being kept.

Do not like the feeling of being in the basic economy. Everyone should feel good no matter what.

All flights were on time and boarding was issue free

Terrible! The plane was old and you are required to connect your own device to their Wi-Fi rather than have entertainment options in the back of the seat in front of you. The Wi-Fi went out during the flight and there was only one plug for the devices every two seats. Three out of five surrounding my family did not work. The seats and spaces under them were so small I could not fit my backpack, which I’ve always brought on flights and fit before no problem. The crew were unpleasant and patronizing.

Are Longus was fine. I booked thru Kayak and was unable to get my business class seat early. Sat next to galley. Crew forgot to wake me for breakfast.

I loved how they arrange boarding (starting with people seated in back and moving to the front). Flight crew was very polite and welcoming. Seating was ok, I felt like there was enough leg space however it is noticeable when the passenger in front of you sets their seat back.

Nice to be on a flight that wasn't fully booked so there were only two of us in the three seat row.

The only problem was there are games on the entertaiment system. The guy behind me played poker the entire time and poking the back of my seat. I hope they remove these.

First the price I paid was excellent, my flight was full, but my seat was roomy. The one downside to the experience was they had games on the entertainment console. The guy behind me poked at my head about half the flight. I hope they get rid of this feature.

Aer Lingus doesn't have plug ins for devices at each seat. They also did not give me a dairy free meal as requested and confirmed by staff. It was as if I had not requested anything. Otherwise, they were great!

The transatlantic flight was wonderful. The regional reminded me of jet blue. Crazy and packed. Not enough overhead space and tough on elderly.

All OK. Food, best bring your own. Even a BigMac will be better.

Thankfully not a full flight so although my headphone jack wasn’t working 100% on my window seat, I was able to move to the aisle seat. Food was fine, nothing great but tasty enough. Crew were friendly and made enough rounds. Always have a decent experience with Aer Lingus

Checked in is easy and it was a smooth flight from LAX to Munich

There is no recline on flight from DFW to FRA. Middle eastern airways provide better recline option for the same class. FRA to Bangalore has better recline option. I bid 100$ for premium economy, my request was declined. But staff handled it without issues.

The Lufthansa part was wonderful. The short connection flight was not.

German crew were very kind. Food was okay but can be better, especially bread was not good, Garbage collection was very poor.

Awful Terrible staff poor communication Flight delayed for an hour with no apology or explanation and no help re missing connecting flight. Resulted in a 7 hour layover at Munich waiting for another connecting flight. Only 15 euros refreshment voucher given. Will not fly Lufthansa again

Both flights were late for what appeared to be the airline’s not having the planes ready. Arrived over 6 hours late.

Check-in very easy and smooth. Plane and crew were nice. Seat open next to me created more space. Food was fair but plentiful. Lots of movies and I was able to sleep some on the way to Munich. Very tight connection, about an hour. Fast through passport control and a bit of a walk to last G terminal gate but I made my connection to Palma. Unfortunately, my luggage did not make it. It is now almost 24 hours since I anded and still NO luggage. I know it landed last night on another flight. Local delivery should be today to my hotel in Palma but nothing yet. I asked about the tight connection when I checked in and was assured they would get my luggage to the connecting flight. Very disappointing it missed my flight but more disappointing that it has taken so long to arrive. Failure on the airlines and service to get my luggage to date.

I wish the flight attendant was a little bit kinder

We missed the flight to Barcelona because the flight from Baltimore was delayed. We flew on Vueling VW6653. Our luggage didn’t arrive. Please help us get our luggage. We are staying at Hotel Gran Via in Barcelona

The seats were tiny, being of a fairly petite build, I don’t usually expect to feel crammed and cramped in a seat, but I definitely was on this flight. I couldn’t even bend over to get anything out from under the seat in front and getting up to go to the bathroom at night with the seat backs reclined was nearly impossible. I had to do gymnastics to get over and out. For an airline that does long flights overnight, it’s kind of ridiculous.

Not connecting flights. Missed my flight from Dublin to Liverpool because I arrived at Dublin one hour too late. For this mistake, they offered me a flight from Dublin to Manchester. Thats great and all, but I waste time and money to commute to Liverpool. Be sure to check the time of your connecting flights, because they sure don’t when they sell it to you

Excellent! Great flight attendants, good food (in business class, at least), very comfortable. Touchscreen and remote wasn’t great.

In economy and food was ok, but with limited leg space (and I was in a 2 seat configuration) it was difficult to eat with a tiny seat tray. I spilt wine on my trousers. First time on British Air (I usually fly Turkish Air) and in a 777. Heathrow was pleasant but changing terminals awkward.

Starting with the flight Cairo to London the plain was so poor no entertainment at all uncomfortable seats although it’s 5 hours long,then an American airline plain took me from London to Miami it was a bad experience the crew most of flight time not available and they asked us to help our selves for any snacks if we need. From Miami to London actually was perfect flight with a huge plain and perfect crew but from London to Cairo was horrible plain with stiff fixed seats not movable no entertainment or wi fi very poor Menu which is unacceptable for a business class

I've done hundreds of flights in my life, and this flight was one of the best I've ever taken, From beginning to end, everything went smoothly, professionally, and with a smile and friendly attitude from all employees I interacted with. The food was delicious (and free), as were the drinks. There was just a genial and effective way in the way that British Airways organized the flight -that reminded of days in the 70's, 80's, and 90's, when flying was a fun, and exciting adventure. I enjoyed and had confidence in the abilities of the flight crew, I'll be flying British Airways several more times this summer. Thank you so much for the great experience! Cheryl Olso

Medical Exam Instructions

All immigrant visa applicants, regardless of age, require a medical examination prior to the issuance of a visa. Only a physician accredited by the U.S. Embassy can perform this exam. It is your responsibility to schedule a medical exam with one of the doctors listed below before your visa interview at the U.S. Embassy. Medical examination results from other physicians will not be accepted.

Items to bring to your medical examination

The doctor will need the following items to complete the medical exam forms:

• Your visa interview appointment letter,
• Your passport,
• One (1) recently taken passport-sized color photographs, and
• A copy of your immunization records.

Any medical examination fees, including x-ray and blood test fees, must be paid directly to the examining physician.

During the medical exam

The medical examination will include a medical history review, physical examination, and chest X-ray, gonorrhea test, and blood tests (for applicants 15 years of age or older). The United States also requires tuberculosis (TB) testing for all applicants two years of age and older. Please be prepared to discuss your medical history, medications you are taking, and current treatments you are undergoing. After the medical exam

Your medical exam results will be sent directly to the U.S. Embassy.

Any x-rays taken will be given to you. You DO NOT need to bring the x-rays to your visa interview unless you suffer from tuberculosis (TB). However, you must carry the x-rays with you when you travel to the United States for the first time you enter the United States as an immigrant.

Pre-Interview checklist

Please use the list below to determine the items that the applicant must bring to the immigrant visa interview:

A copy of your NVC interview letter (does not apply to Diversity Visa, fiancé(e), adoptive, or asylee/refugee applicants).

Unexpired passport valid for six months beyond your intended date of entry to the United States  and  a photocopy of the biographic page.

Two (2) color photographs of each person applying for a visa (5 cm x 5 cm, or 2 inch x 2 inch).  Please review our  online photo requirements.

Confirmation page from the Form DS-260 Application for an Immigrant Visa you submitted online at  ceac.state.gov/iv .

Your  original  birth certificate, English translation,  and  a photocopy.

Medical examination results in a sealed envelope ( if the physician gives you these results) .

Original or certified copies of birth certificates for all children of the principal applicant ( even if he or she is not accompanying ).

Applicants who fall into any category below should bring these additional documents:

For family-based visa applications:

• The appropriate  Form I-864 Affidavit of Support  for  each  financial sponsor along with a photocopy of the sponsor’s IRS transcript or most recent U.S. federal income tax return, and any relevant W-2s. 
• Proof of your U.S. petitioner’s status and domicile in the United States (photocopy of a U.S. passport, naturalization certificate, or lawful permanent resident card).
• Evidence of the relationship between the petitioner and visa applican(such as photographs, letters, or emails).

If you are married : Your  original  marriage certificate, English translation,  and  a photocopy.

If you were previously married: Your  original  divorce or spouse’s death certificate, English translation,  and  a photocopy.

If you are older than 16 years of age:  The  original  police certificate from your country of current residence and countries of previous residence. If these three items are  all  true, you must bring a more recent police certificate to the interview:

• You are older than 16 years of age;
• You obtained a police certificate more than one year ago; and
• You still live in the country that issued the police certificate.

For employment-based visa applications:  A letter from your U.S. employer dated less than one month ago.

If you have ever been convicted of a crime:  Court and criminal records, English translation, and a photocopy.

If you have served in any country’s military:  Military records, English translation, and a photocopy.

If you are adopted:   Adoption papers or custody documents, English translation,  and  a photocopy.

If you are the petitioner’s stepchild:   The  original  marriage certificate of the petitioner and your biological parent, English translation,  and  a photocopy along with divorce records for any previous marriages of either parent.

Sending documents to the U.S. Embassy in Prague

If the U.S. Embassy requests additional information or documents, you must submit those documents at a Czech Post location. You will find additional instructions online.

Rescheduling or cancelling your interview

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please go to ustraveldocs.com to select a new appointment date.  There may be a significant wait before the next available appointment , so please attempt to attend the date already assigned. For some family-based and employment preference visa categories, a visa became available within the month you have been scheduled by NVC. DV applicants should be aware that visas are numerically limited and must be issued by September 30 of the program year. There is no guarantee that a visa will still be available on the date of your rescheduled interview . Please carefully consult the Visa Bulletin before you decide to reschedule your interview.

Please note: You need to register your original NVC/KCC appointment online before you can reschedule it. Rescheduling is only possible on a date after your assigned appointment.

Security screening procedures

All visitors to the U.S. Embassy must follow certain security procedures. Any visitor who declines to be screened by U.S. Embassy security personnel will be unable to enter the embassy. To avoid delaying your entry and that of those in line behind you, please bring only what is required for your interview.

Accompanying persons

The following persons may accompany a visa applicant to their interview:

• Interpreter: Applicants may bring ONE interpreter if they do not speak English or Czech well enough to participate in an interview.
• Special Needs Visitors: Applicants may bring ONE person to help if they are elderly, disabled, or a minor child.

Attorneys are not permitted to accompany clients into the waiting room or to their interview.

Immigrant visa fees

If you have not paid all required fees to either the National Visa Center or via the appointment website, please be prepared to pay these fees on the day of your interview. All fees may be paid in U.S. dollars or cash Czech crowns. Important: The U.S. Embassy is unable to accept credit cards for any service. Please note that if you are found ineligible to receive a visa, the application fee cannot be refunded. A complete list of fees can be found here .

Do not make travel plans outside of Czech Republic

If your visa is approved, we will keep your passport at the embassy while we prepare your immigration packet and print a visa for your passport. We will return your passport to you later via courier services only. If you have to travel within Czech Republic while your passport is still with us, please make sure you have a valid picture ID other than your passport.

After Your Visa Interview

A Consular officer can make a decision on a visa application only after reviewing the formal application and interviewing the applicant. There is no guarantee that you will receive a visa. Do not sell your house, car or property, resign from your job or make non-refundable flight or other travel arrangements until you have received your immigrant visa.

If more information is needed

Sometimes a Consular officer is unable to make a decision on a visa application because he/she needs to review additional documents or the case requires further administrative processing. When additional documents are requested, the Consular officer will give you a refusal letter that asks you to submit additional documents. The letter will include instructions on how to send those documents to the Embassy.

Administrative processing takes additional time after the interview. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days. However, the timing varies based on the circumstances of each case. Before inquiring about the status of administrative processing, please wait at least 60 days after your interview.

What happens after visa approval

Passport, Visa, and Sealed Immigrant Packet – We will place your immigrant visa on a page in your passport. Please review your visa to make sure there are no spelling errors. We will also give you a sealed envelope containing documents that you must give to U.S. immigration authorities when you arrive in the United States for the first time. Do not open this envelope. You must carry it with you; do not put it in your checked luggage.

USCIS Immigrant Fee – All individuals who are issued immigrant visas overseas must pay an Immigrant Fee to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) prior to traveling to the United States. This fee is for processing your residency status and printing your Permanent Resident Card. The only people exempt from paying this fee are: children entering the United States under the Hague Process, returning residents, and people traveling on a K visa.

When You Should Travel – You must enter the United States before the expiration date on your visa, which is usually six months from the date of printing. Your visa cannot be extended and all fees are nonrefundable. The principal applicant must enter before or at the same time as other family members with visas. Children who turn 21 years old after visa issuance must enter the United States before they turn 21 years old; otherwise they will lose their immigrant status.

Getting a Green Card – Your Form I-551 Permanent Resident Card, also known as a green card, will be automatically mailed to the address in the United States you write in your DS-260 visa application form. This is a very important document that proves you have permission to reside in the United States.  Do not travel outside of the United States until you receive your Permanent Resident Card. Once your card is issued, you should not stay outside of the United States for more than one year. If you do, you will lose your status as a Lawful Permanent Resident.

Children’s Issues – Children are required to have certain vaccinations before they can enroll in school in the United States. Therefore, we recommend that you bring your child’s complete vaccination records with you to the United States. Additionally, if your child is adopted, you have full custody as a result of a divorce, or you share custody with the child’s other parent; we recommend that you bring a copy of all applicable adoption or custodial papers from the authoritative court in your home country. You will likely need these papers (translated into English) in the United States for issues such as school enrollment, medical care, and eventual citizenship.

Bring to your interview

In addition to the documents listed on the Pre-Interview Checklist in this package, DV applicants should also bring the following items to your visa interview:

• Appointment information printed from the “Entrant Status Check” on the E-DV website .
• Documents showing that you have either a qualifying high school education OR have two years of qualifying work experience in the last five years immediately prior to application (for the principal applicant only; more information is available online ).
• Payment in cash of the $330 Diversity Visa Application Fee.  

Review your DV Lottery entry

Prior to your visa interview, we recommend that you review the data on your initial E-DV entry. On your initial E-DV application, you must have correctly entered your marital status. If you are legally married you must have listed your spouse, even if you are currently separated from him/her (unless your spouse is a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident).

Additionally, you must have listed ALL of your living children who are unmarried and under 21 years old. This includes your natural children, your spouse’s children, or children you have formally adopted in accordance with the laws of your country.

Failure to have listed an existing spouse or children at the time of your entry in the Diversity Visa lottery will result in the denial of your visa and visas for your family. Any fees paid to the U.S. government in support of your visa application(s) are nonrefundable. If you failed to include a child who had already been born, or a spouse to whom you were married when you entered the lottery, you should not proceed with the visa application. PRAGUE (AP) — The Czech Republic’s highest court on Tuesday ruled to dismiss part of a law requiring people to undergo gender-affirmation surgery, including sterilization, in order to officially change their gender.

The Constitutional Court said the requirements are “unconstitutional” and “in conflict with the fundamental right of trans people to have protected their physical integrity and personal autonomy in connection with their human dignity.”

Only two of the court’s 15 judges opposed the verdict, which cannot be appealed. Lawmakers must change the affected sections of the law by the middle of next year.

The court ruled at the request of a person who was seeking a gender change. The authorities refused to register him as a man because he had not undergone surgery.

The Czech practice was criticized by LGBTQ+ rights groups.

The Czech Republic, also known as Czechia, was one of the last European Union countries to have such conditions in law.

But at the same time, you’re groaning over your bank account because the outgoings just don’t seem to stop.

With everything feeling so expensive, the last thing you can imagine is splashing out on a holiday.

Thankfully however, people are being urged to use this Google ‘cheat code’ to find the cheapest flights to get the f**k out of the UK and go abroad.

The hack previously went viral on TikTok as a user shared the simple trick, leading to many others finding incredible discounts.

And look, I’m not encouraging you to now go and be reckless and book a holiday purely because there’s cheap flights, but if you were already considering a trip, then this could be a real win.

Travel influencer @aroundtheatlas highlighted how handy Google Flights can be to look for deals.

Sure, using this site won’t be new to many people booking trips. However, the hack really shows itself when she clicks ‘anywhere’ and leaves the departure/arrival times blank.

Within seconds, the app brings up a map with cheap return flights from destinations across the globe – including long haul.

Examples include a return trip to Greece for just £39 or transatlantic travel to New York for £336.

Clearly surprised, she then asks her followers: “Does anyone else know about this, because I feel like the world is gatekeeping how insane this is!”

At the side of the screen, you’ll even get a breakdown of available dates, meaning it’s easier than ever to plan for your summer holidays.

Groups can also use this clever hack, as the app allows multiple people to travel at one time and still get amazing discounts.

The video quickly racked up the views as users went on to plan their next holiday using the trick.

One user even joked: “I could fly back and forth to Europe a couple times for less than it cost to get a train to London.”

Another quipped: “Going to Manchester more expensive than Barcelona.”

While someone else echoed: “I could fly back and forth a couple times for less than it cost to get a train to London.”

Others added: “Why’s a round trip to the US cheaper than my iPhone.”

Meanwhile, plenty thanked her ‘so much for sharing’ the trick as many tagged their friends to plan a holiday.

6 of the best European train routes for summer 2024

From scenic trains through Germany's Rhine Valley to sleeper services from Brussels to Prague, here are the best train routes for summer 2024 © Boarding1Now / Getty Images

Are you planning some European travel this summer? Me too. Getting from A to B by train has never felt so exciting, with a thrilling mix of new routes, classic journeys, and under-the-radar options to choose from.

Here are some of the most enticing European train journeys available for summer 2024. Some services kick in when summer timetables begin in June, while many are in operation now. Either way, it’s time to start planning!

1. There's a new service linking the Baltic capitals

Lithuania has been quietly building up international rail connections in recent years. A cross-border service to Warsaw and Kraków in Poland began in late 2022, and since December last 2023, it has been possible to travel between two of the Baltic capitals by direct train. The journey north from Vilnius to the capital of Latvia , Riga , takes 4 hours and 15 minutes and runs daily, making it a competitive alternative to the bus. Booking in advance is recommended, though. This new route through the Baltics is a precursor to a hoped-for extension towards Tallinn which would link the three capitals. Back in Vilnius, connecting with an onward train to Kaunas is possible.

2. Travel at high speed from Barcelona to Seville

Iryo, a recent entrant into Spain’s seemingly ever-expanding range of high-speed services, has established a foothold on the high-traffic Madrid to Zaragoza and Barcelona route. Its new offering extends from Barcelona and Madrid to the Andalucían cities of Córdoba and Seville , making the journey between the Catalan capital and Seville in 5 hours and 50 minutes. Using the same rolling stock as Trenitalia’s slick Frecciarossa trains, Iryo is also notable for an onboard food service that includes cheese and ham tapas and sustainably sourced Spanish wines to help the high-speed scenery flash past.

3. Take the night train from Brussels to Prague

Europe’s night train revolution continues to reshape the experience of traveling across the continent. Only last year, there was no option to reach Prague from the west by sleeper. Now, there are options to lull you to sleep from Paris or Brussels to Berlin , then onto Prague by lunchtime. One approach is the thrice weekly Austrian Nightjet service from Paris and Brussels to Berlin, where you change trains for Prague. More conveniently, there is the privately run European Sleeper train on alternate nights, which takes you all the way. Don’t expect too many frills, though: this train consists of older carriages leased from various train companies around Europe. You will, however, travel directly to Prague with a friendly train crew and enjoy a time-efficient, continent-spanning journey.

4. Scoot along İstanbul's Sirkeci seafront line

If ever a station was a shadow of its former self, it’s Sirkeci, sitting on the shores of the Bosphorus in İstanbul ’s Sultanahmet district . Best known as the one-time terminus for the fabled Orient Express trains, Sirkeci lost its long-distance services in 2013. While the city bustles around Sirkeci, the ground-level platforms have sat unused since, while the underground Marmaray railway flashes underneath the old city bearing travelers from Europe to Asia. There’s life in old Sirkeci yet though. The opening of the new 5.2-mile light rail service to Kazlıçeşme restores trains to the original trainshed. In time, these renewed tracks may even see a return of Sofia - and Bucharest -bound services to the banks of the Bosphorus rather than their less convenient departure point at Halkalı, the western end of the Marmaray line. For now, this is an excuse for nostalgically-minded travelers to hop on a train from one of Europe’s most storied stations, perhaps for a seafood meal in lively Kumkapi, one of the stops on the new line.

5. Ride the summer-only route from Budapest to Koper on Slovenia's Adriatic

Some journeys are so perfectly made for hot weather that they only exist during Europe’s hottest months. Pulling out of Budapest ’s Deli station – not to be confused with the more famous Keleti – the Citadella train noses its way every morning to the Slovenian border and onto the compact capital, Ljubljana . While the views on the Hungarian journey are less remarkable, the stretch of track running alongside the Sava River between Celje and Ljubljana introduces Slovenia’s natural beauty. Between June 16 and August 24, taking this train past the capital to Koper on the Slovene riviera is possible. Koper is home to a historic center stuffed with Venetian architecture and, combined with an unusual journey to get here, more than justifies being added to any central European plans this summer.

6. Spend a month traveling Germany by train for just €49

One of the continent’s great travel deals can open up a host of slow journeys in Germany. For €49, travelers can purchase a Deutschlandticket for a month. The price includes regional and suburban (but not ICE or IC long-distance) services across Germany, plus buses, trams and subways. As well as covering urban exploration, this ticket is perfect for hopping around the Rhine and Moselle valleys , taking a tour of the Black Forest or exploring many of the Harz Mountain lines. It also opens up possibilities for some regional international services across borders. Even if you end up paying for the occasional inter-city service, you’ll still save money.

Participates in the identification and planning of work unit education . Assists in the development of educational programs for medical trainees (pathologists, residents, fellows, post docs, etc.) as directed by laboratory leadership and Residency and Fellowship Program Directors. Develops, implements and maintains the clinical laboratory education programs for students and interns rotating in the laboratory in compliance with the affiliate program requirements and in collaboration with Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences and laboratory/Division/Department leadership. Develops, implements and maintains new employee training and education programs in collaboration with laboratory and division leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Supports the clinical education faculty with formal education programs within the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences (MCSHS) as assigned. Teaches, trains and mentors' student and employees., Develops, implements and maintains competency program.

**Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic**

Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science (CLS/MLS), medical technology (MT), chemistry, biological science from an accredited institution, or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in addition to a certificate in MLS. In histopathology or non-testing laboratories, a bachelor's degree with laboratory certification if applicable. Two years of relevant laboratory experience required. A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree. Prior experience in teaching, training and mentoring students and employees is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal), strong organizational skills and self-initiative; patience and the ability to effectively coach and mentor others. Experience with data collection, organization, analysis, and delivery of information. Able to work as a team member including taking direction from others. Able to work independently. Able to manage projects. ASCP or other certification pertinent to the laboratory field may be required depending on the laboratory specialty and prevailing regulatory requirements.

Cellular Therapy and/or Flow Cytometry experience preferred, but not required.
