Diplo Announces College Tour Sponsored by AXE

A lot of frat boys are about to get reaaaaaal wasted. AXE (the oft-mocked brand of men's body products) is sponsoring "One Night Only", a tour of U.S. college campuses headlined by Diplo . (Fellow party-starter Girl Talk did the same AXE tour last year).

AXE plans to make a surprise announcement of the specific dates and locations  via  Facebook and  Twitter a few days before the tour kicks off on March 27, but we've got the cities listed out, below. For these shows, Diplo will be supported by Philly skit-rap act Chiddy Bang , naturally. A press release promises "on-stage collaborations between the artists and brand new music from both acts."

There is also a hilarious promotional video for the tour, which features Diplo wearing glasses and describing the tour as "the most ridiculous, insane, mind-blowing, mind-exploding party you've ever seen" and calling Chiddy Bang "my best friends in the entire world."

To be honest, after this year's appearance at EDC, I was concerned that the show at Echostage might be less enjoyable than previous performances. I should have known that Diplo was going to bring his more-typical, high-energy set. Was a fun time that's left me pleasantly-tired, today.

As usual, Diplo put on a great show. If I had any nits to pick, it would be that he needs to put a rider on his performance-contract that the venue needs to do a quick cleanup of the floor before his set starts. It really sucks when you've got a DJ putting on a great set and the floor is so strewn with beer cans, cocktail cups and empty water bottles that every step you take is a slog through trash. And the stickiness that comes with that mess is just freaking miserable. Really puts a damper on the ability to enjoy an otherwise great set.

So the concert was actually was really good, Diplo play some really good jams and overall was awesome, the only problem was the organization of the concert, I know Diplo's agency didn't have to do much in it but gold room's organization was very poor, and at the end where Diplo's fans wanted to make him stay since we had to wait 2 hours extra to get in and even Diplo seemed like he would have liked to stay but they didn't let him, he was excellent, the organization as said before, not so good.

Do you want to expand your knowledge and develop your skills and capacities in areas of diplomacy and digital policy? Considering a postgraduate degree in contemporary diplomacy or a professional degree in internet governance ? Diplo Academy offers several modes of study designed for busy professionals to meet your interests and needs.

1. Certificate courses

Highly interactive and based on collaborative learning, Diplo online courses on diplomacy and digital policy provide knowledge and skills that immediately benefit participants, ranging from personal capacity development to career advances. Small group sizes emphasise learning together, drawing on the experience and knowledge of participants as well as lecturers, thus extending your professional network .

Our courses are delivered in a way that enables you to design your own study time without taking time off work . They usually require 10 weeks of part-time study, with a minimum of 5 to 7 hours study time per week . Successful participants are awarded a postgraduate-level certificate from Diplo.

Applicants for certificate courses must have:

• An undergraduate university degree ; OR r elevant work experience and appropriate professional qualifications i n diplomacy or international relations .
• Sufficient English language skills to undertake postgraduate level studies.
• Regular internet access (broadband is preferred).

A relevant and applicable look at cybersecurity, taking into account the different aspects of the subject matter. The intuitive e-learning environment allows for informative discussion and interaction between participants and instructors alike. 2. University of Malta accredited courses

Diplo’s online courses can also be taken for academic credit from the University of Malta .

• Each online course is worth 9 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits.
• Up to two online courses can be taken for credit during a period of two years.
• Credits can be applied towards the Postgraduate Diploma in Contemporary Diplomacy (which leads to the Master in Contemporary Diplomacy) up to two years after completing the courses.
• Following successful completion, participants may order an official transcript from the University of Malta as proof of credits obtained.

Applicants for accredited courses must meet University of Malta prerequisites:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject with at least Second Class Honours.
• Proof of English language proficiency obtained within the last two years (minimum requirements TOEFL: paper-based – 650; Internet-based – 95. IELTS: 6.5. Cambridge: Proficiency Certificate with Grade C or better). If when applying you are still waiting for your English language proficiency results, the University may issue a conditional letter of acceptance.
• If your undergraduate study programme was taught entirely in English, this may be considered to fulfil the University of Malta’s English language requirement. You must present an official statement from the institution where you studied confirming that the language of instruction and assessment throughout the whole programme was English.

3. The Postgraduate Diploma and Master in Contemporary Diplomacy

The online Postgraduate Diploma and Master in Contemporary Diplomacy   builds knowledge and practical skills for addressing current challenges in diplomacy and international relations. The internet governance specialisation addresses important digital policy issues such as internet governance, AI, and data.

The two-step programme offers working diplomats and international relations professionals an opportunity to gain accredited postgraduate-level education. It includes a 10-day workshop followed by 16 to 20 months of online study . The European postgraduate accreditation through the Department of International Relations at the University of Malta makes it recognised worldwide.

4. Advanced Diploma in Internet Governance professional degree

The Advanced Diploma in Internet Governance (ADIG) capacity development programme gives current and future internet policymakers a solid foundation in practical and diplomatic skills. It also equips participants with the knowledge and techniques necessary to engage effectively in international policy processes.

Candidates who successfully complete the programme will receive Diplo Academy Advanced Diploma in Internet Governance . Please note that this is a professional certification issued by Diplo, a non-profit foundation. It is not a university diploma.

College tour season is about to kick off. Here are 10 tips from college tour guides to have a successful campus visit.

• As spring starts, colleges around the country welcome parents and students to campus for tours. 
• College tour guides want people to arrive on time, ask the right questions, and have fun.
• They also recommend students take the tour on their own, without their parents.

Spring break is right around the corner, and for many high school students and their parents, that means many will be hitting the road to tour colleges around the country.

To make the most of your visit, Business Insider spoke with college students and tour guides. They know the campuses like the back of their hands, and they know how to walk backward.

Here are the dos and don'ts of college tours from student guides.

1. Get there with no time to spare, but don't be late

You won't get points for arriving early, so try to arrive on time. But if you do happen to arrive late , there's no need to worry.

"If something comes up and you are late, ask your guide what you missed once the tour finishes," Skyler Kawecki-Muonio, a senior at Sarah Lawrence College, told BI. "They will happily fill you in."

2. Dress to impress, but don't sacrifice comfort

It's important to look nice, but you don't have to don a jacket and tie. Tour-goers should put their best foot forward with a sturdy pair of walking shoes , and don't forget to dress for the weather.

"At Fairleigh Dickinson, tours go out rain or shine, so make sure to wear clothes that will keep you warm," Emily Bone, class of '25, said.

3. Don't forget to sign in, but skip the CV

Most schools have a check-in desk where you'll receive a campus map and other literature. But don't bother furnishing schools with your portfolio.

"Students can leave their resumes at home," Henry Millar, a senior at William & Mary, said. "Tour guides generally do not have any sway in the admissions process whatsoever, so feel free to save the paper."

4. Pay attention on the tour, but do it solo if possible

Some schools offer the option of letting parents and kids take separate tours, which has advantages.

"Get excited about your child's potential future in college, but give them some space to see what they think of that school on their own," Nathan Weisbrod, a junior at Wesleyan University, told BI.

Students can comfortably ask questions without a parent present and compare notes afterward.

5. Ask all your questions, but avoid personal interrogations

This is the time to inquire about any aspect of campus life , and don't feel shy about speaking up.

"Tour guides love getting questions because it allows us to cater the tour, especially in small groups, toward the needs and interests of the families on that specific tour," Halle Spataro, class of '24 at Bucknell University, said.

But some topics are off-limits, so don't ask your tour guide about their SAT/ACT scores or what they wrote about in their essay.

6. Speak up, but let the student take the lead

Parents may be tempted to raise their hand again and again, but this tour is about the student, so there should be space to let them shine.

"Try to take the backseat — or the passenger seat — but refrain from driving all of your child's interactions," Julian Jacklin, class of '25 at Reed College, said. "Students who feel they can own that experience usually ask the most questions and engage with the tour more."

7. Say thanks, but don't leave with questions unanswered

Maybe your guide didn't hear you, or your kid was reluctant to speak up. You can still get the information you want before leaving.

"There's a lot of information students are getting that day and a lot of excitement with being in a new place, which can make people forget to ask certain questions," Lorenzo Mars, a junior at Pepperdine University, said.

Therefore, get your tour guide's email address so that you can follow up afterward.

8. You may know exactly what school is right, but keep an open mind

Don't be surprised if a city-living kid is suddenly intrigued by a small-town setting.

"The college search and college experience are all about getting to know yourself better and growing, so on a tour, students have to trust themselves and their judgment of the 'world' they've just stepped into," Thomas Elias, class of '24 at University of Scranton, said.

9. Take in as much as you can, but remember to have fun

Sure, preparing for the next four years can be scary and stressful. But it's also an exciting milestone, so enjoy the ride.

"These tours serve as great opportunities to learn more about colleges — along with their cities, culture, and people," Connor Gee, a sophomore at the University of Mississippi, said. "Have fun with it!"

10. Weigh the pros and cons of the school, but don't stop there

Your tour may be over, but you can still learn other ways to immerse yourself in college life .

"See if the school offers additional experiences, like eating in the cafeteria or attending a class," Emily Balda, class of '24 at Seton Hall University, said. "Consider it 'food for thought.'"
