Beware, you will have to cover your own medical costs if you use this company!!!

We took out a policy through a broker to get a French long-stay visa. It was cheaper than other products but, as we found out when we tried to claim, it's not very easy to get paid out. My first claim was rejected and only paid after I complained. My second claim was rejected and never paid. When I wrote an hones account of what had happened I was threatened with legal action. I still stand by my account but have withdrawn the review to protect myself. Judge for yourselves.

Mr. Micklem made a first claim for eye damage which was compensated. He has submitted a second claim for which our medical advisors consider that the file is not admissible, simply because Mr. Micklem has an existing pathology that was aggravated by his self-medication, which caused precisely the effects described in the drug's leaflet. Although the medication used is generally safe for most people, you should nevertheless use it with caution and alert your doctor to any adverse effects you experience. - Unfortunately, Mr Micklem, like some of our customers, believes that a temporary health insurance contract should be equal to the social security service, supplemented by a mutual insurance company. But even the best expatriate contracts do not offer such a service. - Mr Micklem dares to say that we are rejecting his claim to avoid paying €400. This is an unacceptable allegation. We settle thousands of admissible claims for policyholders, often above €30,000. Consequently, if Mr. Micklem does not withdraw his outrageous remarks, we will sue him for defamation.

I paid for travel insurance - they did not send contract

I paid for travel insurance, using PayPal according to their instructions. After that I did not receive contract or confirmation. After my inquiry on their helpdesk, they are not responsive, gave some answer after day, that payment was not done. After I send them the transaction ID, they did not answer at all. I can say or it is scam or it is very bad company for this kind of service.

Everyone was kind and efficient, ready to help as needed. I had a special request (I needed documents in a different language) and the person who helped me sent me the documents very quickly. They also thoroughly and promptly answered all my questions. To be noted that Mondialcare has a much better customer service than other traveling insurance companies. You really feel like the people want to help you find the right insurance for your individual situation. I appreciate that. AMAZING customer service!

I have used Mondiale care insurance several times now for my visa applications. Last time my parent's visa got rejected and they simply changed the dates for me for the next application. They have always amended any changes I needed to do in the insurance certificate promptly and responded friendly in whatsapp. I am very happy with their service!

Had a minor dental issue while…

Had a minor dental issue while traveling in the EU, and had to go see a dentist. Paid out of pocket, and then submitted a claim online. Got reimbursed within a couple of weeks without any issues. Very good service

Understanding the customers difficulty.

We were waiting for the Portugal Visa to come through and expected to need the MONDIALCARE insurance starting on or around the first day of the following month. In the event the Visa did not arrive and we decided to allow another full month. Moving the period is forward is easy online but had unfortunately I left it too late (3day before if I remember correctly). I wrote an email and the problem was solved. Thanks

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service. I did not receive any email post payment, but reached out via WhatsApp chat and got all the necessary documents. Anmol from the Mondial care customer team was prompt in his responses and went an extra mile to support me.

I have dealt with Medialcare since August 2022. The team has been very supportive and accommodating to all inquiries and requests I have made so far. I have had to change the date of a schengen visa health insurance several times due to the visa taking a long time to be issued, Mondialcare changed the dates every time customer service excellent. The price for visa was cheaper than other insurance companies.

Off to a bad start

Off to a bad start. Tried to pay by card with 4 different cards, 3 different banks, 12 hours apart during business hours. It kept failing with Unknown error, please try later. I reached out to customer service and they were responsive and sent me a PayPal link but it had an additional processing fee (3€) which I don´t know why I have to pay when it´s their system not working.

Dear customer, It seems the transaction was not accepted by the payment platform we work with. We propose the payment via PayPal or bank transfer in this case as a solution. Unfortunately, there is an extra fee for PayPal payments.

How to ensure you have the right cover

Does your bank or credit card company provide cover.

Many bank accounts and credit cards come with some level of travel insurance cover. While some may be comprehensive, they may not cover you for everything you have planned whilst you’re away, particularly if you have adventurous plans or unusual excursions booked. For example, you might not be covered for emergency medical costs you could incur if you have na accident or need medical treatment.

Make sure you look into the travel insurance policy that you have before every trip, to make sure it’s suitable for you and your plans.

Purchasing a holiday using a credit card means you are often protected by Consumer Protection cover. In most cases, it allows you to get your money returned to you if your provider defaults and you cannot travel.

Are you covered by ABTA or ATOL?

If you have booked a holiday through a tour operator or travel agent, it may be worth checking if you are covered by ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) or ATOL (Air Travel Organiser’s License). This type of cover means that your package holiday is protected if, for example, the travel company providing your holiday arrangements or the travel agent themselves fail financially or close down.

Your travel agents will be able to tell you if your holiday is ABTA or ATOL protected. Alternatively, use the links provided to check your cover at home.

What is an EHIC or GHIC and what can it offer you?

Having a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) will entitle you to the government-provided healthcare of the European Union country you are visiting and lowering the medical expenses you would normally expect to pay.

Although this is a good addition to take on holiday, a European Health Insurance Card or Global Health Insurance Card should not be seen as a replacement for travel insurance which could provide you with further protection and peace of mind whilst you are abroad. Yes! Your health and the health of others is vitally important so you''ll be covered if:

• You can't go on your trip through a positive test or advice from your GP
• You are denied access to pre-booked public transport due to COVID-19 related symptoms

You'll need your policy number to submit your claim to us. This is available in your certificate of insurance which is sent to you when you take out cover. 

It's a good idea to take your policy information with you on your trip so you can provide us with all the necessary details in order for us to help.

Claims assessment

Once we receive your claim, it'll be assessed by our experienced team. 

To speed up the assessment of your claim please make sure to include all applicable information and evidence such as receipts, booking confirmations, hotel reservations and crime reference numbers. If you fail to provide all the necessary information this will cause a delay in processing your claim.

Please contact us immediately about any serious illness or accident where you have to go into hospital or where you have to return home early or extend your stay because of any illness or injury. If you are unable to do this because the condition is life, limb, sight or organ threatening, you should contact us as soon as you can. You must also tell us if your medical expenses are over £250. If you are claiming for a minor illness or accident you should, where possible, pay the costs and reclaim the money from us when you return. You can call for emergency medical assistance 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

Can i take out cancellation insurance after booking.

Yes of course! If you booked your ticket directly with KLM, you can go to My Trip to take out a matching insurance with our partner Allianz Travel. They offer travel insurance, cancellation insurance or a combination of both. Please note: you can take out the cancellation insurance within 48 hours after booking your ticket. Check My Trip for the current offering and costs of a travel or cancellation insurance.

What is travel insurance?
