Omg right it was like no other concert I've been to before, no words can describe how blimming amazing it was! The band were so friendly and because I was in a small club, they had to walk through the fans to get to the stage and they were like talking to the fans and high fiving them. And when they started playing they would like hold the fans hands and dance with them and crowd surf. The music was obviously so so banging!! The band are so lovely and the concert was legit the best I've ever been to, they're definitely on my list to see again!!!

Great atmosphere! It was a tiny location(Nachtleben Frankfurt),with a capacity of ca. 100 people, everybody was jumping und singing, it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I didn't know the supporting act, called The Regrettes, but they were great and joined the crowd after they finished their performance. After the show both bands gave autographs and took pictures with the fans, while talking to them. I think everybody just had a really good time there. Great Venue. Great Bands.

jeez, okay, swmrs is so fuhking good live. like actually super fuhking good. They all have so much energy it made the show so great. And they interact with the crowd. Like at one point Cole gave a short speech about the song Miley and it was hyyppee. But I was lucky enough to meet Cole and Max after the show and omg they are so so so fucking nice like the nicest people you will ever meet. just fucking go see them live theyre all individually great, it's sick.

Fun as fuck my first mosh pit show ever i fucking loved it swmrs were gr8 beach goons also fun and gr8 and ohhhh the regretts lovely i also meet hilary from 91x and i loved it cuz i grew up lisenting to that radio station i also meet some pretty cool girls and my first concert was there at music box it was declan mckenna well hope this is a cool review or something swmrs were awesome and lose lose lose was soooooo cool fucking loved it man!!!!!!!!!

An incredible night! The band was lively and energetic, the small crowd was great! Always engaging with the artists on stage and everyone was having a good time! Cole's speech was incredibly inspiring and definitely made you think. Very empowering. Overall an amazing experience. Would highly recommend to see this band if you want to rock out with a bunch of awesome people, it'll leave you feeling ready to fight anything!

I found SWMRS a few months back, when Spotify was doing the Auto-play feature that matches similar artist with your set playlist. I fell in love with their Drive North album and was ecstatic when they played a few songs from that album at the concert.

Overall they have great energy and everyone in the crowd was loving them! Hope they come back soon and bring the goons back with them!!!

Really amazing show! full of energy and the crowd would pick you up if you fell in the mosh pit. The band made a really nice announcement encouraging everyone to fight back if someone grabbed you or someone else inappropriately during the show. This means a lot because as a girl, people grab your butt a lot during shows but that didn't happen to me at all at this show. 10/10

So SWMRS was the absolute best show I've ever been to. It was so wild and intimate. The pit was insane. There was crowd surfing, death walls, and just getting tossed around like crazy. Cole is a great singer and I would say 10/10 would definitely see again. They were so nice and all of them signed my ticket stub. It was awesome.

Second time seeing SWMRS, great show. Mosh pit got a little intense as soon as the Regrettes left and SWMRS came on so me and my friend stayed at the edges of the pit at that point. Venue workers very helpful, passing cups of water out between sets. Easy to get to, easy to find, and SWMRS played brilliantly :)

Right outta the gate SWMRS brought energy to the stage. All their songs were full throttle and fun. The band members engaged the audience in a great way. No matter if you were a fan or not, everyone jammed to the fast and fun vibe they brought. I highly reccomend going to see them. Definitely get floor spots!

Bay Area punks SWMRS have announced a return to the road in early 2023 with a new batch of U.S. tour dates promoting their most recent album 'Berkeley’s On Fire' . The 7-city excursion takes place in May making stops in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Brooklyn, Asbury Park, Mechanicsburg and Washington, DC. Later in the year, the band will be heading over to the UK for additional performances.

SWMRS released their fourth studio album 'Berkeley’s On Fire' on February 15th, 2019 via Fueled By Ramen. The new album follows up 2016's 'Drive North' which reached a career-best #15 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. Also in 2019, the band launched their Berkeley’s On Fire Tour across America which was joined by special guests The Regrettes and Beach Goons . The same year, the Oakland-based group won Best International Newcomer at the annual Kerrang! Awards.

Event Details

SWMRS is the sound of brothers staying afloat, having fun, and learning to move with the currents. The Bay Area punk band is centered around the songwriting of brothers Max and Cole Becker, who have fronted the band through many evolutions since forming the group as Emily's Army in 2004. As SWMRS they've released two albums, including 2016's  Drive North  and 2019's  Berkeley's on Fire,  and honed their stagecraft opening for Muse, Blink-182, Cage the Elephant, and Fidlar. After a series of challenges over the past few years, including Max nearly dying in a car accident, the punk rock band has focused on writing new music and returning to the road. Wherever the next wave takes them, SWMRS will be ready with guitars in their hands and songs in their hearts.

In February 2017, former Breitbart editor and right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos arrived on the UC Berkeley campus and attempted to deliver a speech that was met by more than 1,500 protestors. For Cole Becker, the lead singer of Oakland punk group Swmrs who was among the protestors, it was a pivotal moment for both himself and the band.

“I don’t want to give him more face time by talking about it,” Becker admits while riding the L train to an album release show at Brooklyn record store and venue Rough Trade. “Basically there was a little fire set on campus. It was kind of intense, but then I got home and my mom called me saying, ‘What’s going on? Is Berkeley just burning down right now?'”

The media exaggeration and right-wing manipulation of that coverage helped inspire Swmrs’ latest album, Berkeley’s on Fire . Having grown tired of the relentless news cycle, the band wanted to make “positive media” with their songs that can leave their listeners re-energized.

“Ultimately we know how music works and we’re not here to pull out facts on people at our shows all the time,” Becker says. “We want people to feel like they’re ready to confront the real world positively when they leave the show.”

Swmrs’ sophomore album follows over three years of total upheaval for the group of Bay Area twentysomethings: their 2015 debut Drive North gave them a bigger audience than ever before, while their tours in support of more established acts like Fidlar and All Time Low brought them to increasingly bigger venues. Touring with All Time Low, especially during the 2016 election cycle, gave the band renewed purpose.

“ It was the first time we had seen teenage girls crying and hyper-focused on what was going on in front of them,” Becker says. They wanted to be that type of band for their fans. “ We were taking what we were doing really seriously. It’s abstract what music does for people, but it’s clear people need music they care about, and for some people, we’re that band.”

This newfound inspiration meant that Swmrs couldn’t get into the studio and make any old album. They wanted to capture a feeling; one that was inspired by the shifting, non-rap influences inspiring many of the biggest and most innovative hip-hop acts of the moment like JuiceWRLD and Lil Uzi Vert.

“The last thing we actually listened to was punk music,” drummer Joey Armstrong says. “The moment we started writing this record in our heads was when we were standing side stage at [UK festival] Reading watching [grime collective] Boy Better Know and watching the crowd react to that kind of music.” 

The crowd’s reaction reminded the group of their early punk days: a raw, mosh-and-dance-heavy energy that amplified the entire experience past just what’s happening onstage.

“Punk music is sometimes too fast to get a big group of people,” Armstrong says, adding that playing in bigger venues meant that it takes more to get a crowd moving. The songs on Berkeley’s on Fire ditched the “heavy-fast-loud” indulgences of their past and went for a slightly slower-than-usual punk tempo.

“The feeling I got the first time I went to a punk show was incredible. It was like I’m floating,” he says. “How do you do that for a bigger crowd of people because it only works in a small club?”

Swmrs also explored new methods of recording. Before he had gotten into the studio, Becker had been helping a friend record SoundCloud rap. Playing with Logic and other computer applications allowed him to explore new templates for Swmrs’ music. He would bring computer-crafted beats to Armstrong and bassist Seb Mueller, who would unearth new ways of playing their instruments based off the computer-created sounds’ rough draft.

“‘Berkeley’s on Fire’ is the first song that clicked [that we were using] a new process,” Becker states.

Lyrically, the band was pulling from their keen political awareness, something that was instilled in all of them from a young age thanks, in part, to the liberal area where they all grew up. All four members actively use their social media to promote political awareness and ways to take action, whether by protests, fundraising or reading material. (One of many, many examples: Becker’s 2018 Instagram post calling upon fans to “help protect the space and altar that has been created to mourn those families and individuals that have been affected by the Trump administration’s Zero Tolerance policy.”)

They’ve also launched their own Swmrs Fund with their tour, which launches this week in North America . For each ticket sold, one dollar is donated to the foundation and every few months, the money is donated to a cause on “the frontlines of the issues they are addressing.” Some beneficiaries include National Bail Fund Network, Girls Rock Camp and Climate Justice Alliance.

“So many more people could be speaking out and using their platform, and we’re lucky we grew up in a place where we began versing ourselves in that kind of thing and the knowledge that you need,” Becker says. “We’re not trying to be the source of the knowledge; we’re just trying to distribute it to more people.”

“We come from a place where you’re taught really young how to act,” Armstrong continues. “You want to be able to bring that to someone in a state or a city that isn’t as vocal or educated on it.”

Being on the road for the boys has taught them just how necessary being vocal is; co-lead singer, guitarist and Cole’s older brother Max Becker compares touring to political campaign trails. “Like Beto [O’Rourke] in Texas, he did so well because he actually went and talked to people,” Becker explains. “We actually get to [tour] and meet people and now we can sing on behalf of them.”

Seeing more of the world means realizing that each scene or community’s definition of punk rock shifts and may not entirely reflect the one they were raised in. The quartet came to understand the privilege they had growing up with the liberal and socially conscious 924 Gilman Street scene and want to bring that venue’s ethos wherever they go.

“When your first punk rock experience is Gilman Street, you think punk is supposed to be a certain vessel for activism and political thought and how to carry yourself as a human person in the world,” Cole Becker explains. “Then in the greater U.S., punk takes on different meanings because people weren’t trying to reinforce [those ideals] and make it good. Warped Tour became this place where misogyny was spread to these young kids and marketed.”

Max Becker jumps in, recalling his own anger with what he witnessed on Warped. “T-shirts were being sold that said ‘I’m a slut’ on it! And it was like, what the hell?”

“Coming from Gilman and then going to that…

“…It backfired on us.”

The eldest Becker further hones in on the fact that as a band of cis, white-passing males, they must walk the walk as much as they talk the talk, citing the Swmrs Fund and the continued efforts to further educate themselves as much as they do their fans. They want that education reflected in both the shows and the music.

“We want to make music that can be listened to 100 years from now when all this groundwork has been put in,” Cole Becker emphatically adds.

His brother once more chimes in: “We’re thinking that far ahead!”

The Merseyside rockers will play five headline dates in support of their debut album, ‘The Mess We Seem To Make’, which peaked at number seven on the UK album charts earlier this year.

Crawlers’ Holly Minto, Amy Woodall, Liv May and Harry Breen have established themselves as an irresistible live force over the past few years, and the upcoming December tour is their first run of UK headline dates this year. The band are currently supporting Jane’s Addiction and Love & Rockets on a U.S. tour and recently announced a run of headlining U.S. dates in September.

Dizzee Rascal - O2 Victoria Warehouse, Manchester

Dizzee Rascal has announced a UK tour celebrating the 15th anniversary of his most iconic and commercial album ‘Tongue ‘N Cheek’. Dizzee will be performing all the hits during a very special headline show at London’s Eventim Apollo as well as a string of regional dates including Wolverhampton, Glasgow, Dublin, Manchester and Leeds.

To mark the occasion, Dizzee is also releasing some brand new never-before-released content including remixes and live versions of ‘Bonkers’ and also a remix with rising star Buckley. In 2023, Dizzee Rascal ignited the electronic music scene with his collaboration with Leeds-based DJ Buckley, when their track ‘Bonkers (Buckley Edit)’ became a viral sensation and was featured in sets by heavyweights like Interplanetary Criminal.

Following this collection, Dizzee will release more unreleased tracks associated with the album ‘Tongue ‘N Cheek’, with further announcements to be made shortly.

SWMRS - Night & Day, Manchester

Californian punk outfit SWMRS are heading back to the UK this November for a string of headline dates. The tour kicks off on November 19 at Night & Day in Manchester and wraps up on November 23 at Bristol’s Dareshack.

SWMRS are more than just a band; they're a family. Formed by singer/guitarists Max and Cole Becker when they were teenagers, the band has cultivated a dedicated fanbase over the years with their infectious energy, catchy punk anthems, and explosive live shows.

2024 Tour Championship leaderboard: Live updates, FedEx Cup Playoffs coverage, golf scores in Round 2

Live scores, updates and highlights from the second round of the fedex cup playoffs finale.

The Tour Championship and FedEx Cup are officially Scottie Scheffler's to lose. Scheffler extended his lead to seven strokes through the first 18 holes with his seventh win on the PGA Tour this season now just 54 holes away. Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa are the closest to Scheffler on the leaderboard, but they will have serious ground to make up Friday at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.

Scheffler has insisted that he's "treating it like I would any other tournament," but with $25 million on the line this weekend for the winner, there will be no shortage of big-time names looking to catch up. For this Tour Championship to truly get interesting, it will take terrific play from the likes of Schauffele and Morikawa. If they cannot shift into gear before the weekend, the final 36 holes will play out the way the rest of the 2024 season has on the PGA Tour with everybody chasing the No. 1 player in the world.

Good morning and welcome to our Round 2 coverage of the Tour Championship leading into the weekend. We have a fun Friday on tap at East Lake, where Scottie Scheffler has a sizable lead after firing a 66 (-5) on Thursday in Round 1 to extend his lead to seven strokes. 

The second round is officially underway with Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Billy Horschel off the first tee. Scheffler and Collin Morikawa are in the final group slated to go off at 2 p.m. ET.

Challengers emerging to Scheffler

Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark and Xander Schauffele are all 5 under on the round today and emerging as the potential challengers positioned best to track down leader Scottie Scheffler. Morikawa and Schauffele are both 14 under, while Clark is 13 under, which comes as Scheffler drops a stroke at the 13th to fall back to 19 under. Could get interesting leading into the weekend. 

Scheffler makes the turn with pep in step

A shaky start to the day could've injected some doubt into Scottie Scheffler's ability to close the FedEx Cup -- which he's failed to do the last two years -- but he's made leading the Tour Championship by multiple strokes look like cake so far. Scheffler just made the turn with a bogey-free 3-under 32 to keep his lead at six strokes on Xander Schauffele and suddenly-surging Collin Morikawa. Schauffele and Morikawa are both at 4 under on the round but still not within striking distance with Scheffler keeping the field at arm's length for now. 

Xander Schauffele has fantastic front nine

Leader Scottie Scheffler's grip on the lead has at the very least been threatened a smidge by World No. 2 Xander Schauffele, who after an opening-round 70 on Thursday just posted a 4-under 31 on the front nine to pull within six of Scheffler's lead. Schauffele made birdies at 3, 4, 6 and 8 and is on pace for the best round of the day, and perhaps the week. He struggled on the back nine in Round 1 yesterday so a good test of his mettle on deck down the stretch as we prep for the weekend ahead. 

Scheffler steady as ever

If Xander Schauffele's fast start has struck a scare into leader Scottie Scheffler, he certainly isn't showing it. Scheffler just birdied No. 6 -- his second on the day after a birdie at No. 3 -- to move to 2 under on the day and again extend his lead back to six strokes. He then turned around and bombed a 363-yard drive on the par-4 7th -- nearly thirty yards deeper than his drive on the same hole in Round 1 -- to put him in position for another birdie before settling for par. Good start to the front nine of Round 2 for the World No. 1. 

Schauffele storming back

Xander Schauffele came ready to rock in Round 2 as he's taken back multiple shots from leader Scottie Scheffler to move to within five strokes. Schauffele is 3 under through six and sitting 12 under with birdies at 3, 4 and 6. That's already matched his total count of birdies from Round 1, where he battled to an opening-round 70. 

Scheffler's lead shrinks by one

Scottie Scheffler is already in the red today at 1 under through four holes but his lead has shrunk from seven strokes to six after a strong start early from Xander Schauffele. Schauffele is two under on the day thus far with birdies at Nos. 3 and 4, moving him to 11 under. Meanwhile, there's a trio of big names -- Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark and Sam Burns -- who are all at 10 under, T3 and seven off the lead. 

Rory with two almost-makes with the putter on the front nine. This one at No. 1 was a gem that I thought might drop for birdie. He also just missed a shortie on No. 3 that would've been birdie. He's even on the day and yet somehow already licking some wounds. Going to need those to fall to chase down Scottie Scheffler, who is at 16 under. 

Hovland burning edges early

Viktor Hovland is even on the day and has thus far failed to erase his 12-shot deficit on Scottie Scheffler, but it's not without trying. He's now burned two edges through his first six holes on birdie bids that just missed dropping. He's had a bogey and a birdie to remain at 4 under (even on the day) but he's a few inches away from being top-10 on the leaderboard with a spring in his step. 

Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas begin their days

Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas -- a combined six major championships and four FedEx Cup championships between them -- are off and running in Round 2 to start their day. McIlroy is 10 back of leader Scottie Scheffler and Thomas is 11 back sitting at 6 under and 5 under, respectively.

McIlroy, who is the only golfer to have won the FedEx Cup three times, last won in 2022 after winning in 2019 and in 2016. He has had a stellar season with two wins and a soul-crushing second-place finish at the U.S. Open. Thomas last won the FedEx Cup in 2017. He entered the week No. 30 out of 30 qualifiers for the event at East Lake and has not won on the PGA Tour since his win at the PGA Championship at Southern Hills in 2022.

Round 2 is off to a rough start for a chunk of the morning crew who were off early to kick off Friday. Only one golfer so far -- Christiaan Bezuidenhout -- is in the red at 1-under. Three are 1 over and one 2 over in the early going of the 10 already on the course.
