The Wailers Announce Legendary 40th Anniversary UK Tour

More than 40 years since they first burst on to the scene, The Wailers have announced they are hitting the road again for a ‘legendary’ UK tour set to take place November 2024. The tour is said to be a commemoration of the release of the compilation album ‘ Legend ‘, and the group will be playing the album in its entirety. Released in 1984, the iconic record is a collection of Bob Marley’s greatest hits, and remains the best-selling reggae album of all time, selling more than 25 million copies worldwide.

The band first came together in 1981 in celebration of their late frontman Marley shortly after his death, and is one of several spinoffs of Bob Marley and The Wailers. Now led by Aston Barret Jr. and lead vocalist Mitchell Brunings, the group are expected to play 11 dates throughout November this year, kicking things off in Newcastle on November 13.

From a blurb  posted on their website, Marley and Wailers fans attending live shows can expect “ the magic of their timeless classics and incredible cuts from Bob Marley’s vast repertoire in a set that is truly unforgettable. Under the guidance of Aston Barrett Jr, son of the legendary “Familyman”, The Wailers continue to preserve the legacy of their iconic sound. ”

The announcement of the tour follows the release of the critically acclaimed biopic  Bob Marley: One Love. Landing in cinemas on February 14, the film follows the trials and tribulations of Marley’s life, and stars Peaky Blinders ‘ Kingsley Ben-Adir. Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, the film was made in close collaboration with Marley’s family, and not only honours his legacy, but observes and shines a light on other central figures in his life, such as his wife Rita and Island Records boss Chris Blackwell. Just over a week since it hit cinema screens, it has been confirmed that the film broke box office records on its first day alone, earning an eye-watering $52 million during the six-day holiday stretch.

Tickets for all shows are on sale on Friday February 23 at 10AM and are available for general purchase  here . O2 Priority tickets will be available here on Wednesday 21 February at 10AM. • A valid ticket must be produced to get into an Event. Removing any part, altering or copying the ticket may invalidate your ticket.

• If all or any of the Event is planned to take place outdoors it will take place regardless of weather conditions unless deemed unsafe by the safety officer. Whilst every attempt shall be made to secure a replacement indoor venue, there shall be no refunds for bad weather if the event takes place.
• The Organiser does not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property brought to the Event.
• Attendees may be filmed, photographed or sound recorded for broadcast, publication or security purposes whilst at the Event by the Organiser which shall include sponsors and other partners authorized by the Organiser.
• Video and sound recordings are not permitted in theatrical and performance areas of the Event unless written permission is provided by the Organiser.
• In accordance with the law, visitors aged under 17 are not permitted to purchase/sample alcoholic drinks.

This Sunday, the 2024 PGA Championship action starts at 8 a.m. ET on ESPN+.

What channel is the 2024 PGA Championship on?

For US viewers, the PGA Championship will air mainly on ESPN and CBS. There will be select coverage streaming on ESPN+, and the Golf Channel's alternative coverage airing on its network and streaming on Peacock.

ESPN will air the majority of the first two rounds of the tournament on Thursday and Friday, and then ESPN and CBS will share the third and final rounds on Saturday and Sunday.

UPDATE: Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa both birdied the 18th hole on Saturday to tie for the lead at 15 under heading into Sunday’s final round of the PGA Championship.

They will tee off in the final pairing on Sunday at 2:35 p.m. ET. Sahith Theegala and Shane Lowry will occupy the penultimate pairing, beginning their rounds at 2:25 p.m. ET. You can browse the full 2024 PGA Championship Sunday tee times below.

We already know that Xander Schauffele , Collin Morikawa , Bryson DeChambeau and Scottie Scheffler will be among the star attractions contending for the Wanamaker trophy on Sunday at Valhalla. But we don’t yet know exactly when they’ll start their rounds.

Provided there is good weather, competitors will play in two-man pairings on Sunday, with all pairings starting off the 1st tee. The players at the bottom of the leaderboard will tee off first, with the leaders teeing off in the final pairing. For that reason, we won’t know the exact times until Round 3 is over Saturday night. But we can look to the past to get an approximation of what the Sunday tee times will be.

At the 2023 PGA Championship at Oak Hill, Sunday’s final round got underway at 7:50 a.m. ET . Brooks Koepka and Viktor Hovland set out in the final pairing at 2:30 p.m. ET. We can expect Sunday tee times for this year to be similar.

Great to see The Wailers in Leicester - played all the classics and more. A shame that there wasn’t a live horn section (replaced by MacBook and keyboards!) and there also seemed to be a few technical problems (lots of roadies coming on stage). Some of the songs were also a little drawn out with extended guitar solos and audience involvement but still a good gig

These guys are the real deal. They are rasta men and women who bring Reggae music to the masses, in typical Bob Marley style. Three of the members are men who actually played and toured with Bob, so they do know their stuff. Old favorites every night. They have been on tour for almost a year now, playing most nights of the week, but appear fresh and rejoicing in Jah's spirit. And for those not close to the venue, they record LIVE every show. So everyone is a winner when it comes to the Wailers. Friendliest group ever, take pics with them, or ask for an autograph. They always have time. Jah bless the Wailers xo

Taylor Swift’s expected Eras Tour setlist for UK as Paris gig reveals huge changes

The Lover house is burned down, Speak Now is fighting for her life, and we’re all afraid of little old Taylor Swift as she overhauls her Eras Tour setlist.

As the 34-year-old superstar kicked off the European leg of her tour in Paris, fans gathered around livestreams and X to discover what she had in store.

Paris night one didn’t disappoint and ticket chaos was forgiven as the Tortured Poets Department took centre stage and the entire Eras Tour was changed, from bodysuits to choreography.

Fans had already speculated there might be a switch up after she released the Eras Tour film before her tour had finished but this was more than our wildest dreams.

It’s no surprise that Taylor has added in the new album but at already three and a half hours long , some songs were left on the cutting room floor.

The Archer, tis the damn season, and even the last great American dynasty were all brutally ripped from the setlist.

New glittering bodysuits and dresses were rolled out for every era except Reputation, which is the last in the album in the show to get it’s Taylor’s Version.

So far no vault track appears on her main setlist, only core album songs have a permanent place on the Eras Tour.

Swifties have been left in utter disbelief as Folklore and Evermore were combined into one era, known as the sisters era, to keep time down.

Speak Now was reduced back down to one song — RIP Long Live — and debut remains reserved for surprise songs in the acoustic set.

Let’s be honest Taylor could perform for six hours and fans would still want more but even she would probably find that exhausting.

It’s been a whirlwind 24hours for Swifties so lets see what the setlist has been left looking like and what that means for the UK.

We’re still going strong opening with Lover but even her seventh studio album and big opener couldn’t survive Taylor’s great setlist war. We’ll miss you, The Archer.

Fearless Era

The album that made her a superstar remains unscathed but since there were only three songs for this era it’s hardly surprising.

However, a new tasseled bodysuit was revealed and it looks incredibly similar to one worn on the Our Song hitmaker’s original Fearless tour in 2009.

In a position switch up, the setlist now moved from Fearless into Red instead of evermore but the songs remain unchanged and All Too Well remains firmly in pride of place.

Speak Now Era

Justice for Speak Now, already balding but now scalped as Long Live has been once more removed.

We’re begging Taylor, I will sacrifice I Knew You Were Trouble for just one more purple painted dream.

Reputation Era

Yet to have it’s Taylor’s Version released, Reputation remains unchanged on the mammoth set but has been moved to after Red and Speak Now rather than before.

It’s also the only section that has not had an outfit change, the day that red and black bodysuit goes we’re all going to lose our minds.

Folklore/Evermore Era

Once separate totalling 12 songs, Taylor’s lockdown albums have been combined into one – with a lot of casualties.

‘We have reunited the sister albums,’ the singer told the Paris crowd, joking it could be called ‘everlore’ or ‘folkmore’.

Mother’s favourite child remains safe and sound with no changes and still following the Folklore set. Honestly, we would have loved to see some of this swapped out for the vault tracks which stormed the charts last year.

Bad Blood remains on the setlist, we wonder if Kendrick Lamar is free to come do a surprise live feature…

The Tortured Poets Department

Initially Swifties weren’t sure if this would be added and if so how could the 31 tracks possibly be whittled down into just a handful.

A new era brings blessings of brand new outfits, a floating stage set piece, gun shot choreography, and of course some insane vocal moments.

Taylor has spoken and these are (probably) her favourites off TTPD.

Surprise songs

Each night Taylor plays two surprise songs from her vast discography, these have included This Love and Clean from 1989 and Dear John and Last Kiss from Speak Now.

She’s taken to doing mashups of the tracks, sometimes leading to fan speculation that the lyrics are somehow intertwined in inspiration.

Also known as the acoustic set, Paris night one fans were (obviously) treated to Paris from her album Midnights played on piano and loml on guitar from TTPD.

Midnights Era

Closing out the show is the iconic era which gave us ‘Karma is the guy on the chiefs ’ and that chair choreography — Midnights.

Her 2022 album gets sparkling new outfits, although the Lavender Haze fluffy lilac jacket has not been swapped out.

The Eras Tour will come to the UK next month , beginning in Edinburgh for three nights before heading to Liverpool, Cardiff, and London .

Who knows what Taylor will have in store for fans given her penchant for keeping everyone on their toes.

Given the huge overhaul, this is likely to be the setlist for the UK gigs and all her European dates but might have minor tweaks thrown in.

Of course, if you’re sad your favourite track is not on there is always a chance it could be one of the surprise songs as she has no rules around what she can and can’t sing here.

We’re hoping for Electric Touch, Now That We Don’t Talk, The Black Dog , or Hits Different but that tells you far too much about us.

The iconic pop punk band Paramore will be opening for Taylor Swift at the UK gigs and they revealed their setlist in Paris.

Of course, it is much shorter but still packed with hits from the chart-topping band, fronted by Taylor’s long time friend Hayley Williams.

Taylor Swift is on the European leg of a tour that began more than one year ago.

Taylor Swift's worldwide Eras Tour will boost the UK economy by almost £1 billion ($1.3 billion) as fans splash the cash to see the US music star, Barclays bank estimated Wednesday.

A study entitled "Swiftonomics" said almost 1.2 million fans would each shell out about £848 on tickets, travel, accommodation and merchandise to see the singer and songwriter perform in the UK over 15 summer dates.

This figure is 12 times the amount someone would spend on an average night out in the country, according to Barclays.

"When it comes to cultural icons like Taylor Swift -- like we saw with Elvis and Beatlemania in the 50s and 60s -- supporters have such a strong connection to the artist that the desire to spend becomes even more powerful," said Peter Brooks, behavioural scientist at Barclays.

Swift is on the European leg of her tour that began more than one year ago, with the performer having played to sold-out arenas across North and South America as well as Asia.

In the UK, Swift will perform at sporting arenas in Cardiff, Edinburgh, Liverpool and London.

By the end of 2023, the tour became the first to sell more than $1 billion in tickets. It is on track to more than double the amount by the time it concludes at the end of this year.
