Our Business

We feel the personal touch makes handling reservations more efficient.  We know each traveler well and get to know their preferences as well as their dislikes.  We can make reservations more quickly because we are familiar with their wants and needs.  We take time to check each seat map for seat selections we do not “blind sell” seats.  That means each traveler gets the best seat available for him on each flight.  We insure that frequent flyer numbers are entered as well as car and hotel reward program numbers.  We are familiar with all the airlines partner programs as well as the hotel partner programs.

Choosing a Dream Honeymoon Over a Lavish Wedding

With the cost of weddings on the rise, some couples are skipping big celebrations and prioritizing travel instead.

Two men wearing sunglasses are smiling, with blue waters and a row of colorful buildings in the background.

By Brianna Holt

In October 2023, Oscar Avilez Marquina and Luis Lopez, newlyweds from New York, flew to Europe to spend two weeks on a city-hopping tour between Nice, France; Paris; and Amsterdam. JetBlue had just launched direct flights to Paris from Kennedy International Airport, and the deal was too good for the couple to pass on.

“Going to Paris has always been a dream for me and for Luis as well,” said Mr. Avilez Marquina, 30, who is currently unemployed. “I’m so happy that the first time we got to visit, it was together because that’s going to become a core memory that we’re going to look back on for years to come.”

The decision to have a trans-Atlantic honeymoon is one the couple prioritized after eloping on Feb. 2, 2022, at the Durham Courthouse in Durham, N.C., with two friends as witnesses.

“We had talked about having a wedding and what that would look like,” Mr. Avilez Marquina said. “And after many discussions and sort of understanding the anxiety of having one, we decided to go to a courthouse and focus on what we really love to do, which is traveling and enjoying each other’s company.”

Ultimately, the cost of having a bigger wedding drove the couple away from the idea, with Mr. Lopez estimating a $60,000 budget for a larger party.

“That’s basically what my student loans cost,” said Mr. Lopez, 30, an accountant. “I had to ask myself, do I get married or do I pay my student loans? And is it worth spending that much money on something that’s only going to last a few hours?”

Instead, the couple combined their travel miles and spent a total of $2,000 on their honeymoon trip.

The average cost of a wedding in the United States last year was $35,000, according to the Knot . Also, the average student loan borrower in 2023 owed $37,338 in federal student loan debt, according to the Education Data Initiative . With persistent inflation , paying for a lavish wedding celebration has become financially unattainable for some couples. However, many others have found that splurging on a dream honeymoon is more affordable and less stressful to plan than an extravagant wedding.

While thinking about a wedding to her college sweetheart, Haley Black, a full-time content creator, decided she didn’t want one. Her childhood fantasy was not a huge wedding. Instead, she dreamed of traveling and seeing other cultures.

So, in November 2022, Ms. Black, her husband, Mon’Darius Black, and their eight-person wedding party traveled from Shelby, N.C., to the Greek island of Santorini for a nine-day trip that included a small wedding ceremony with group activities followed by a honeymoon full of excursions and sightseeing.

“We didn’t want to spend a tremendous amount of money on a wedding. We looked at it like it was more about us rather than other people,” Ms. Black, 25, said. “Some people do see that as selfish, and while we had concerns about that, what mattered most is how we wanted to celebrate ourselves.”

When the couple first started considering wedding venues, the cheapest option they could find was $25,000. Flowers alone were $10,000. The total cost of their marriage and honeymoon trip was a little under $9,000. “We both have student loans, and we weren’t willing to go into more debt over a wedding to appease other people,” Ms. Black said.

Erika Hernandez, a wedding and elopement planner and the founder of the Greatest Adventure Wedding in Seattle, said that combining an elopement with a honeymoon was becoming increasingly popular because of its affordability.

“A lot of times, the couple just wants to include something that they really love doing together, like something they built their relationship off, and a lot of times that is traveling and adventuring together,” she said.

Couples choose honeymoons over weddings for more than just the savings. Many of Ms. Hernandez’s clients prioritize travel because they want to avoid the stress of preparing for a big event, are too busy with work and children, or prefer not to be the center of attention. “People rather spend the money on an experience for themselves than dinner for a whole bunch of people,” she added.

After Muna Yowell’s in-laws threw her and her now-husband, Dr. Jose J. Vargas Alvarado, an engagement party, the couple realized that they didn’t want a wedding.

Ms. Yowell, a 27-year-old data analyst, said the engagement party was largely about socializing with guests. On Oct. 7, the couple, who live in Dallas, married at a local courthouse and spent the evening with loved ones at a friend’s apartment.

Ms. Yowell, who is Palestinian, and her husband, who is Guatemalan, said they both did not feel right about holding a big celebration when the majority of her family lives in Palestine.

They spent only $100 on their courthouse ceremony, leaving room in the budget for a much larger honeymoon.

A week later, the couple flew to Hawaii for a week. “We went all out because we knew we could,” said Ms. Yowell, adding that the $5,000 trip involved renting a private sailboat, snorkeling, a helicopter tour across Maui and indulging in a fancy dinner every night of their stay.

“I’ve always heard that when it’s your wedding, you barely even get to eat the food that you paid thousands of dollars for,” Ms. Yowell said. “I didn’t want that. We wanted to be able to soak up the moment and really enjoy it with each other.”

Skipping the big wedding and going on a more budget-friendly getaway may have its drawbacks. Family members may be disappointed that they will miss the special day. However, Ms. Black decided that the advantages of saving money outweighed a few ruffled feathers.

“I don’t want to diminish the importance of family when it comes to celebrating big moments because I do love our families,” Ms. Black said, “but them witnessing us getting married is not worth us going into debt over a wedding.” The Blacks used the money they saved to close on a home in 2022 in Shelby, N.C.

Pull-On Pants

Best Linen Travel Pants

Onia pull-on pants.

But if you don't want to roll up to the airport in sweats, or sit all stuffy in a suit for four hours, we've found the compromise. From Vuori to Lululemon to Bonobos, some of our favorite labels have created pants specially made for travel. And on this list, you'll find 18 of the best picks that we've tried, tested, and loved—whether we were traveling on an international, overseas flight or just going a domestic few hours.

With a silhouette that'll work for most body types, and treated with wrinkle-resistant technology, Amazon's in-house label has once again offered up an affordable style that's too good to pass up. An added bonus? They're even machine washable.

Mack Weldon hits the mark with these travel-ready Radius pants. Not only is the high-tech fabric water-resistant and quick-drying (no need to worry about spills too much), but it is also extremely comfortable. So if you're not partial to wearing the brand's travel-ready Ace sweats , these are the next best thing.

Trust that Lululemon always pays careful attention to comfort, performance, and functionality. And its celebrated Commission pants—which are made of wrinkle-resistant, quick-drying, shape-retaining, breathable fabric—are a shining example of this sentiment.

Vuori offers styles built for sweat-breaking activities outdoors. So best believe that these incredibly sleek pants, made of the brand's DuraTerra ripstop fabric, are more than enough for traveling long distances in a climate-controlled environment. They're durable, have a wide-range of motion, and will keep you comfortable no matter where your journey takes you.

Bonobos? On a list about the best pants? Of course! The brand specializes in creating bottoms for all occasions, including travel. Case in point: this garment-dyed, five-pocket jean with so much stretch that it almost—just almost —feels like a pair of sweats.

No pants round up is complete without Everlane, the master of sophisticated comfort. These guys are sweat-wicking, quick-drying, and made of 4-way stretch, and if that's not enough, well then we don't know what is.

They're chinos, but, like, the extra comfortable version. Dressy, stretchy, and ultra soft, these pants are going to be perfect for when you have to hop off the plane and hit a work dinner. Throw on a button-up and sport coat and you're good to go.

Rhone established itself as a mainstay of the running scene—and for good reason. But it also offers nifty styles for traveling, like these pants made of its Flex-Knit fabric, which are so comfortable, so easy to move in, so stretchy, and so sleek that you'll never look at traditional trousers the same way again.

Don't worry, we didn't forget about Alo. You can wear these pants from the plane to the hotel gym, without having to slow your roll and change. Plus, the moisture-wicking material, pockets on the sizes and back, and zip fly and button closure are the underrated heros of the day.

Linen is the most breathable material, a fabric that allows for maximum ventilation while you're crammed in a seat, waiting for an airline attendant to pass the pretzels. And don't even get us started on stretch linen. These pants from Onia are the lightest style you can wear on a fully booked, claustrophobia-inducing flight. They even have an elastic waist, button closure, and side slip pockets.

Tommy Hilfiger Travel Pants

Travel Pants

Even though these have the grace of chinos, and a slim-fit that's become an icon of Tommy Hilfiger, they're still one of the best travel pants on the market. That's because they have everything you want—stretch, comfort, softness—while still looking chic and classy.

Banana Republic Traveler Pants

Traveler Pants

Thank goodness for brands like Banana Republic, who understand the importance of traveling in style so thoroughly that it makes stylish pants for traveling. These are softer than a typical pant thanks to their brushed material, but with a slim fit and abundance of pockets, they have all the easy, breezy functionality you need.

ATG by Wrangler Utility Pants

Utility Pants

Wrangler makes some of our all-time favorite jeans , ( and shirts ) and its other pants are nothing we're turning our noses up at, either. These have the chic appeal of khakis, but with stretchy comfort, deep pockets, and a wrinkle-resistant fabric, you can take on a flight with no problem.

L.L. Bean Multisport Pants

Multisport Pants

When you're on the go, an elasticated drawstring waistband is the best travel companion you could ever hope to have. These lightweight pants have four-way stretch (so you can sprint to your gate when the security line is longer than expected) and a straight leg that won't wrinkle.

Uniqlo Smart Ankle Pants

Smart Ankle Pants

Uniqlo's pants have it all. They're stretchy, soft, and breathable. They're versatile—don't restrict yourself to wearing them just for travel—and they're chic, with an ankle-grazing hem and straight legs.

Stone Island Patch Cargo Pants

Patch Cargo Pants

If you're here, I'm assuming you're a guy who likes to travel in style. And if you like to travel in style, Stone Island's cargo trousers need to be on your radar. With a relaxed (yet stylish!) look and plenty of pocket space to hold a passport, boarding pass, and whatever else you need, these are infallible.

Mugsy Jeans Teddy Pants

Teddy Pants

When travel calls, these Mugsy Jeans pants are here to answer. Available in over 15 different colors, they're flexible, soft, and can easily be dressed up or down.

Huckberry Merino Travel Pant

Merino Travel Pant

When you're packing in a pinch and can only bring a carry-on bag , these Huckberry pants will save you much-needed space. Crafted from merino wool, they naturally wick away moisture, stay dry thanks to a durable, water-repellent finish, regulate your body temperature, and resist odors for 72+ hours of wear–um, hell yes.

Other Travel Pant Recommendations

shape, rectangle

We tested a lot of travel pants to bring you a comprehensive list of the 18 best options, and while not every style we tried made the cut, here are some notable mentions. Jack Archer Jet-Setter Pants : We loved these Jet Setter pants by Jack Archer because they're versatile, wrinkle-resistant, and make your ass look great. However, we didn't love how tight they fit around the calves. Orvis Trek Pants: Made with water-resistant, stretch fabric, this option from Orvis is a no-frill travel pant that will get you where you need to go, but isn't necessarily the most stylish option. Paul Smith Travel Trousers : If you can get over the high price tag, then these stretch wool trousers will feel as good on as they look. Bluffworks Travel Pants : Ask any frequent flyer, and they'll probably tell you that Bluffworks travel pants are a great option for all-day comfort. And while we agree, we found that the material felt a little clingier than other options, which is why they didn't make the initial list. Billabong Surftek Pants : Currently on sale, this Billanong option has a stretchy cotton blend and relaxed fit that give the perfect laid-back vibes while still looking put-together. Our biggest con is that they sell-out too quickly, so it can be challenging to snag a pair.

Tips for Buying

shape, rectangle

Listen—no one knows how you travel better than you do. Maybe you're a guy who likes to pace the aisles of the plane, maybe you're a guy who spills his ginger ale every damn time there's turbulence, maybe you're a guy who sits in the window seat, falls asleep, and stays put. There are pants to accommodate all of those things.

Whatever your habits are, look for pants that pertain to them. I would recommend loose, baggy fits and elastic waistbands every time for maximum comfort, but if you want to stay sleek and sharp, there are chino-style, flex-fabric options that still put the business in casual. Something water-resistant is great for long-haul flights, because you never know what could happen. And when in doubt, always, always, look for pants that you aren't going to groan and grumble at putting on for a red-eye.

Nude cruise to set sail from Florida next year: Here are the starting costs, itinerary

travel in style sarl

The "Big Nude Boat" cruise, which allows passengers to bare all − yes, even at the buffet − is set to sail from Florida next year.

The "11-day adventure" to the Caribbean is set for the first two weeks of February on the Norwegian Pearl, according to the Bare Necessities Tour & Travel website.

"Bare Necessities’ newest nude cruise is a private island double-dip with a brand new travel partner!" the company wrote on its website.

The trip which embarks from Miami, includes "an exclusive visit to an idyllic private island" in The Bahamas as well a another exclusive stop on the way back to the Port of Miami.

"Two opportunities to enjoy a new slice of Bare-adise, coupled with a beautiful selection of Eastern Caribbean island stops, will make this a can’t miss Big Nude Boat experience," the travel company posted.

Why cruises are popular with swingers: 'What happens on the ship ... stays on the ship'

A cruise to nowhere: Royal Caribbean sailing canceled after guests boarded

Big Nude Boat cruise sailing dates and destinations:

The ship departs from the Port of Miami on Feb. 3 and returns to the same port on Feb. 14.

The itinerary includes stops at the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, Dominica, Martinique and St. Lucia.

How much does the Big Nude Boat cruise cost?

Rates for an inside cabin start at $2,000 per person.

They stretch as high as $33,155 for the top room on the ship: a Haven three-bedroom garden villa.

Laws of the land (and sea)

Guests are encouraged to park their bare behinds on towels provided on board in areas including the pool deck and the buffet area, according to the website.

"Passengers can easily follow our rule on nudist etiquette by always placing a towel down before sitting," it reads. "Remember to pack a swimsuit; not all excursions are clothing optional."

A Gentleman in Moscow Star Mary Elizabeth Winstead on the Eroding Mystery of Anna Urbanova

In the Showtime series' sixth episode, out this week, the glamorous character lets her guard down—just a bit.

In the series’ sixth episode, which airs this week (today on Paramount+, Sunday on Showtime), Urbanova not only finds a way to save Rostov when he faces certain tragedy, but she also drops her cool façade just enough to hint to viewers that the years Rostov has spent admiring her haven’t been in vain. For Winstead, it was an opportunity to delve into a different side of the character and to use some of the show’s incredible design elements to help bring a softer—albeit not yet entirely soft—Anna into the spotlight.

Here, she tells T&C about creating the character, the importance of flat shoes, and the hotel in which she’d most like to be trapped for a lifetime.

What made playing Anna something you wanted to do?

It was such an amazing opportunity. Every aspect of it just sang with potential to be the best thing possible, beginning with the novel , which I had read already, and knowing that Ewan was attached to play the Count. I knew that that was going to be something magical. It felt like a real no brainer to want to be involved on top of the opportunity to play an incredibly fabulous character. Also, I got to be with my husband for six months and work on something that excited us both. There’s nothing better than that.

In the sixth episode, which airs this week, we finally see Anna—who’s been so mysterious—let down her guard just a bit.

In the novel , she remains mysterious throughout. You get to hear about what she's going through a little bit from the Count’s perspective, and you get to feel the blossoming love between them from his perspective, but you don't really get to peek behind the curtain, and to see who Anna is. It was unexpected for me, as the episodes were coming in, to see how much time we were giving her character. It made me feel even more for her and made me that much more excited to play her in these scenes. Even though she’s a bit of a hustler and she toys with people, particularly the Count, she has this unexpected emotional evolution. She becomes somebody very different than she expected.

l r ewan mcgregor as count rostov and mary elizabeth winstead as anna urbanova in a gentleman in moscow episode 6, streaming on paramount with showtime, 2024 photo credit ben blackallparamount with showtime

Is it a relief to get to crack her open a bit, or did you miss those episodes where she’s all frosty glamour?

I love playing someone who is very guarded. At the start, she’s kind of wearing a mask, and then over the course of the season that mask slowly falls away, and her vulnerability slowly becomes exposed. It was beautiful for me to get to play that woman and find her cracks; she’s had a very hard life, so it’s difficult for her to let anybody in, but it was wonderful to feel her kind of cracking open.

To create the character, did you use materials beyond the script or the book that inspired it?

The book, of course, was an amazing starting place; Amor Toles wrote such incredibly wonderful characters. In addition to that, I wanted to have something that I could hang my hat on in terms of the history of real actresses at that time, and the real

Russian women of that day who were in her position. It’s a bit difficult to find a lot of information, but I did find a few. One was named Alla Nazimova, and I felt she resembled Anna the most—she was also the most fascinating to learn about. She had an incredible backstory that was quite heartbreaking, and I held onto that for Anna.

preview for Gentleman In Moscow - Official Trailer (Paramount+)

Is there anything about the production—which has these incredible sets and costumes—that you hope audiences notice? Any kind of Easter eggs we should be looking for?

There are subtleties, especially in the wardrobe, hair, and makeup. Obviously, we go through different eras, which is fun to see, but for Anna, I thought it was so lovely to have not only the evolution in terms of time but also of her as a person. She becomes so much softer, and we see her wearing knits and flat shoes; she’s letting herself get softer, and the clothes reflect that in a beautiful way.

Finally, if you were to be trapped for a lifetime in a hotel, which one would you want it to be?

I really love the Soho Hotel in London. I love being close to Covent Garden and Soho, and I have great memories of being there. That’s a place I’d love to be.
