On day two, you’ll explore a geological wonderland that Vietnam boasts with pride: the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. Rolling through tranquil ricefields and countless limestone rocks, this serene escape has some of the most striking scenery in all of Asia – not to mention the incredible biodiversity and cultural spectrum of ethnic groups here.

Day 3 takes you to the town of Meo Vac and through Yen Minh, where you’ll learn about the cultural traditions, beautiful clothing, and amazing views found here.

The Bac Sum pass opens up like a smooth carpet of asphalt, surrounded by the skies and the lofty emerald peaks that bring you to the aptly-named Heaven Gate. The twin mountains’ raw beauty is oftentimes surrounded by white clouds, creating a scene one can only describe as “ethereal”.

As you ride along the Chin Khoanh Pass, your guide will offer educational commentary, as well as interesting historical accounts to further enrich this experience.

In reality, Honda is the most reliable brand on the market. You can simply look at the traffic stoplights and realize at least 80% of bikes is Honda.

hi, I am from India and I will be in Hanoi for 2 weeks in december (attending a conference). i have a lot of questions to ask you, but firstly and most importantly, is having an international driving license absolutely necessary ? if so, can you help me in finding out if Vietnam accepts international driving license issued by India ? I am unable to find out by searching around in various indian websites (i guess not a lot of indians visit Vietnam) whether international licenses issued in India are accepted/allowed in Vietnam.

Officially, Vietnam doesn’t accept any foreign licenses, including the international driving license. The police rarely stop foreigners unless you do something wrong or have an accident. It’s more to do with purchasing a insurance policy so please check with your travel insurance company first. Many companies don’t require a Vietnamese license but your country driving license like CHI, World Nomads and Allianz etc.

Hi, could you help me with locating a Honda mechanic in HCMC that can work on my 1995 Honda XL250S Degree? I need the main output shaft from the transmission replaced and am having a very hard time finding anyone that knows anything about these bikes. Any help will be appreciated.

Hello Glen. That XL250 Degree was one of the few Honda dirt bike models we disliked for the quality of engine and complicated repair work. To be honest, I personally don’t think mechanics want to repair that bike (or they have spare parts). In Hanoi where we are based, I know some mechanics who might have a look before they say “yes” or “no”. We still have a spare engine of your model in store and if you need parts just send us the photos and you can buy parts from us. Sorry we don’t repair any bike rather than our touring bikes in Hanoi.

Jessica Abrego From: Hewlett, New York, USA Email: [email protected] I took a six-day with Thuy and her husband Long from October 19th to October 24th, 2012. I was having a rough time in Hanoi before I met them, but the minute I got on a bike I was much happier. One gets a better feel for the rhythm of the culture in the street than on the sidewalks. My tour headed north, to Ha Giang, Dong Van, Meo Vac, Cao Bang, and Bac Kan before returning to Hanoi. The first day was a bit rough adjusting to the bike (wear jeans!) but the scenery was stunning. Every day after that I enjoyed being on the road more and more, to the extent that I actually extended my trip an extra day because I didn’t want to rush. We had good weather most of the time, but one day it poured. Long went out and bought me a rain suit right away. Even in the rain, on treacherous mountain roads, I was never nervous about the bikes or Thuy’s driving. It was actually quite beautiful and strange to drive slowly through the opaque mist, like something out of a movie. Thuy and Long became my friends in no time at all. We had a wonderful time together: talking, joking, eating delicious food, sharing cigarettes. It was a lovely adventure: we shopped in little local markets, drank with Hmong villagers, bargained for a pig (that we slaughtered in Hanoi and ate at a big welcome home feast at their house), sang karaoke on stage at a Women’s Day event in Dong Van, played with charming little kids, saw an incredible diversity of ethnic groups in their villages, rode a boat and stayed in a homestay in Bac Kan… we even bought two little country puppies for Thuy and Long to keep as pets. (Imagine a pig and two puppies plus three people and five days worth of stuff on the backs of these bikes — what could be more Vietnamese?!) Seriously, I couldn’t have imagined how great my trip would be. I learned so much about Vietnamese culture and made great friends. I cannot recommend Hanoi Easyrider highly enough: great company, great people, and a wonderful experience all around.

1. Are the food & drinks included?

Yes! All food and drinks are included in our tour package. We provide Authentic, Healthy, and Organic meals & drinks that cater to all dietary requirements. Vegan and Vegetarian options are readily available.

2. Can we see Hanoi train-street?

Absolutely! You can experience the famous  Hanoi Train-street which is included in our itinerary. Though the train street was recently closed for tourist safety, we know HOW, WHEN, WHERE & WHAT to show you to have a cup of coffee while watching the train passing by just inches away in front of you. Even if there is no train during the morning tour , we will still take you there to see the train street. If you want to see the train passing by the train-street, please take the AFTERNOON  or SUNSET & NIGHT TOUR.

3. Do I have to ride the motorbike? No,  You do NOT have to ride the motorbike . Our professional, licensed & experienced drivers will ensure that you have a hassle-free experience as you sit on the back of the bike as pillion passengers.

4. What happens if it rains ?

Weather is not a concern for our Hanoi Motorbike Tours. We conduct tours no matter the rain or sunshine . In case it rains, we do provide rain ponchos for all our riders.

5.  Do we go INSIDE the tourist attractions?

Our focus is NOT entirely on the tourist attractions. On this tour, we don’t go INSIDE the attractions , but instead, we will take you to the HIDDEN GEMS and HARD-TO-FIND places that expose the REAL Hanoi. We spend our time taking you off the beaten path and to the less frequently visited sites, showcasing the authentic Hanoi that you cannot discover on your own.

During the tour, we do go by some of the highlighted landmarks where we pause for photos and then continue onwards. Our Hanoi Motorbike Tours are catered to offer a unique experience for our guests that showcase Hanoi from a different angle. If any attraction interests you, you can always revisit the place on your own and spend as long as you’d like.
