Our family vacation in Kerala was fully organized by your company. Train journey from Delhi to Ernkulam was long and boring. After reaching the railway station it took more than 5 minutes to find the cab. First driver provided to us was not good and not fluent in Hindi..but second day we got another driver Jayakumar and he was good. What a beautiful place to visit! Not going to lie I had to look up the location! I think the waterfalls and especially wildlife safaris is where you’d find me! Love the lush and greenery!

The tea estates are high on my list and now I need to add spice plantations. The smaller owned plantations would be ideal to see the entire process, without crowds of people. The map really helps demonstrate how far apart everything is.

Upon your arrival at Calicut Airport/Railway station, our tour representatives will welcome and transfer you to Wayanad. On arrival, sign into the hotel and chill out for some time. The day is free for relaxation in Wayanad. Enjoy your overnight stay at lodging or resort in Wayanad.

Day 2 : Wayanad

After breakfast, continue for touring in Wayanad. You need to know that the Wayanad tour package includes the Pookkoda Lake, Kuruva Island, Lakkadi, Edakkal Hole and the quick streaming rivers Panavaram, Mananthavadi and Kabini. Spend your overnight stay at inn/resort in Wayanad.

Day 3 : Wayanad - Calicut (100 Kms. 02 ½ Hrs.)

Take your breakfast and check-out from the resort and transfer to Calicut. Check in to the lodging/resort at Calciut. Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - calicut to wayanad [85 km | 02.30 hrs].

On Arrival at Calicut Airport / Railway station you will be greeted and picked up by our driver and drive to Wayanad – a famous north Kerala destination set lofty on the majestic Western Ghats with altitudes ranging from 700 to 2100 Meters above sea level. The etymology of the word Wayanad is Vayal (paddy) Naad (land) making the name as “Land of Paddy Fields” enroute to visit at Lakkadi View Point- ‘Gateway of Wayanad’, which is a famous picnic spot in Wayanad, offering a bird eye view of the lush green surroundings. Also Lakkadi View Point is known for its Nine Hairpin Curves which offers a splendid view of the Mountains in Wayanad. Thereafter visit at Pookode Lake - which is one of Kerala’s beautiful freshwater lakes spread across 13 acres. Pookode Lake is an ideal location for nature lovers and photographers. Then move to Karapuzha dam which is one of the largest earth dams in India, late in the afternoon check in at Resort and overnight stay.

DAY 2 - WAYANAD SIGHTSEEING

Morning by 06.00 Am visiting “Muthanga wild life sanctuary” – one of the most famous wild life sanctuaries of Kerala. A jeep drive arranged by forest department takes you to visit this famous sanctuary. The park houses a great elephant population of this region. The park is spread over 345 sq km in area which is rich in fauna and flora, and comes under the Project Elephant. Various species of deer, monkeys, birds etc. too are found in the Muthanga Wild Life Sanctury. The trees and plants in the sanctuary are typical of the south Indian moist deciduous forests and west coast semi evergreen forests. Returning to hotel after the visits then after breakfast proceed to Banasura Sagar Dam - constructed in 1979. Located at the foot of Banasura hills, the dam gives an astonishing view of the surrounding areas including hills and forest (Boating activity can be done at Banasura). Then visit at Karlad Lake - It is the third largest fresh water lake in Kerala and second largest lake in Wayanad after Pookode Lake (Here you can do some adventure activities like Zip line and other activities). In the afternoon visit at Kuruva Island - As the name indicates, the place is a group of tiny small islands formed by the delta of Kabani River. Kuruva Island offers the Bamboo rafting across the Kabani River to reach the islands also you can do kayaking & boating here. Later in the evening back to Resort and overnight stay.

DAY 3 - WAYANAD TO CALICUT / KANNUR [DROP]

Morning after breakfasts check out from the resort and proceed to sightseeing, visit at Edakkal Caves- After Trekking 4000 ft up to the mountains brings you to the natural caves of Wayanad. Edakkal Caves portrays the prehistoric settlements and civilizations- Neolithic and Stone Age. Thereafter will visit at Soochipara Waterfalls- also known as Sentinal Waterfalls, is a picturesque and breathtaking waterfall situated in Vellarimala, Wayanad, Viewers can swim, bath and indulge in recreational activities at the Soochipara Waterfalls. We visited Banasura Sagar Dam🏞️ which is 30 km ahead of the Hotel. The Banasura Sagar Dam is large and we had a speed boat experience🚤 in this dam. It was a very good experience with a view of mountains on all sides.

On our Second Day Trip. We took a walk among the Tea Plantation Estates🍵 on Wayanad…With a Fresh Good Air, we stroll among the estate.🌱

On our Last Day Trip..we experienced a flyover Zipline ride🥳 in Wayanad. We crossed 300 meters of the tea plantation using the Zipline. It is one of the unforgettable memories of our Trip.🤩

By Air:  Kerala is the second state in India to have four international airports, namely Trivandrum International Airport, Cochin International Airport, Calicut International Airport and Kannur International Airport (which is yet to become operational).Nearest airport to Wayanad is  Calicut International airport (Kozhikode airport) located at a distance of 93 km from Wayanad . From here on, you can either hire a direct tax or a local bus to Wayanad.

By Rail:   Kerala has more than 200 railway stations, connecting various major cities as well as small towns of the state. Direct trains to various destinations in Kerala can be availed from major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, and Kolkata, among others. Day 01: Chennai- Wayanad - Our Tour Starts from Calicut (Kozhikode)

Morning pick up from Calicut and journey to Wayanad Arrive at Waynad by 9.00am. After fresh up and breakfast proceed for  sightseeing. You will visit  Edakkal Cave . Edakkal Cave is a natural cave situated in Western Ghat’s Ambukuthi hill region. It lies above 1200mtr from sea level.You will find the Neolithic and Old age civilization’s carvings and writings. After this spot you will move to the  Wayanad Heritage Museum  situated in Ambalavayal. There you can explore the history of Wayanad. After the museum proceeds to  Soochippara Waterfalls .

Day 02: Wayanad

After breakfast visit  Banasura Sagar Dam ,This is the second largest earth dam in Asia. There you can enjoy the boating also. After Banasura Sagar Dam drive to  Kuruva Island . Kuruva island is a evergreen forest lies in the Kabani river, total area of this island is 950 acre. It is located on the national highway near the Pepper Wayanad Gate hotel. Greens pitch e-pass entry system for Wayanad modelled on Ooty and Kodaikanal

Wayanad: Environmentalists have come up with a demand that the state government implement an e-pass system modelled on Ooty and Kodaikanal in Wayanad. The Tamil Nadu government, acting on a recent High Court order has initiated measures to ensure an e-pass system to regulate the flow of tourists to the prominent hill destinations of Ooty and Kodaikanal. The High Court, Chennai ordered instituting an e-pass system to bring down the passage of tourists' vehicles through the ghat roads, to reduce excessive footfalls at the destinations and to minimise the ecological impact.

Spurred by this order, the Wayanad Prakrithi Samrakshana Samithy has also sent a letter to the Chief Minister and District Collector, demanding the implementation of an e-pass system to regulate the number of tourists in the Wayanad district. The organization also called for the appointment of an expert panel to assess the pressure on the environment due to the huge tourist inflow. The organization also alleged that the number of tourists visiting the district every month is almost double the number of the population in the district. The high influx of tourists has already battered the social life of the agrarian community and the extreme impact on the ghat roads and jungle roads is yet to be assessed.

WPSS president N Badusha said that the organization would explore other legal means if the state government fails to address the issues faced by the people due to the inflow of tourists. Various tourist destinations of Wayanad including Edakkal Caves, En Ooru and Kuruva Islands have already ensured an advanced booking system, to minimize the pressure of tourists to the destination. However, the tourism fraternity of the district came out heavily on the demand of the Greens, saying that such restrictions would hit the tourism industry of the district which is already facing various troubles. '' Without any restrictions, the number of tourists to the district has dwindled due to recurring wildlife attacks, heat and water scarcity,'' said CP Sailesh, secretary of the Wayanad Tourism Organization (WTO), a leading organisation of stakeholders in the industry.

''With around 3000 resorts catering to the hospitality industry with 3 to 50 rooms per property, more than 60000 residents of Wayanad depend on the industry, directly and indirectly, to earn a living.
