Georges de La Tour

Georges de La Tour Photo

French Artist

Georges de La Tour

Summary of Georges de La Tour

One of the greatest exponents of 17 th century Baroque painting, La Tour's mastery of chiaroscuro was such that he is often named as Caravaggio's natural successor. But La Tour's paintings, although relatively small in number, stand on their own terms for an economy of styling that charge his brooding candlelit scenes with a sense of enigmatic tranquility. La Tour's oeuvre shows a steady progression towards a uniquely minimalist style that would touch upon elements of symmetrical abstraction. Indeed, several historians have championed la Tour as the true progenitor of the Cubist movement. Although he was much admired in his own day, La Tour joins the exalted company of Piero della Francesca and Vermeer as canonical artists whose names and works had fallen into obscurity (and in La Tour's case, misattributed) before being rediscovered (and re-championed) by historians in the 20 th century.

Accomplishments

  • La Tour's distinguished himself from others working in the Baroque style through a series of works that feature figures lit dramatically by the soft glow of a single light source. La Tour became increasingly drawn to candlelight scenes - often featuring a young boy or girl absorbed in an everyday task, whereby the flame spreads an atmosphere of otherworldly calm across the whole canvas. As his style evolved, La Tour's works would become increasingly sparse, with his masses reduced to simple, almost geometrical, dimensions. This technique imbues his works with a somewhat modern appearance that has provided a significant addition to the catalogue of 17th century French art.
  • La Tour is sometimes referred to as a realist on the grounds that his works addressed the lives and experiences of the "common folk" of his hometown of Lorraine. But La Tour was not a naturalist. For his "real-life" works he achieved a sober, but meditative, quality. Indeed, rather than fixate the picturesque style that was prevalent in Northern Europe at the time, La Tour turned to the Caravaggesque realist approach since it provided the best means of representing "the soul of man".
  • La Tour's sparsely populated pictures are rendered in "anonymous" locations with the absence of setting or scenery. His subjects never pose in front of architectural backgrounds or landscapes, with borders and boundaries delineated typically through partitioning devices such as walls. He omitted subsidiary figures with incidental accessories kept to the bare minimum (even his saints and angels were without haloes and wings). This technique, which brought a sense of silent calm, contributed to the enigmatic quality that has come to distinguish his work.
  • La Tour's paintings, almost exclusively genre and religious works, can be divided between daytime and night-time scenes. Whereas the latter are defined by artificial light and a near elimination of color, the former, such as The Cheat with the Ace of Diamonds (c. 1635) and The Fortune-Teller (undated, c.1630-34), are distinguished by for their sharp, clear lighting, and a precision of brushwork. La Tour's works from this phase already indicate something of his individuality in their exquisite ornamentations and rendering of textures.

The Life of Georges de La Tour

According to author Christopher Wright, La Tour, "was seen as the great master of candlelight paintings, set apart from his contemporaries, by a near magical approach, both in subject matter and technique".

Important Art by Georges de La Tour

The Payment of Taxes (c. 1618-1620, or 1630-34)

The Payment of Taxes

An important early work by La Tour, it shows an elderly man paying a tax (or debt) to group of men. The scene carries an element of threat in that the taxpayer seems as if he is being intimidated by the group. Author Philip Conisbee says of the work, "It has been convincingly suggested that its source lies in the tradition of tax-paying scenes, a well-established theme in Netherlandish art since the sixteenth century". Yet the painting carries a certain ambiguity in that, what might be on surface level a generic peasant scene of the powerful subjugating the meek, could be a modern reinterpretation of the biblical story of the "Calling of Matthew" (the tax collector who became a disciple) if, as some historians believe, it was painted during the earliest period of his career when he was chiefly engaged in painting the saints. In either case, this work offers confirmation of La Tour's skill at creating complex group compositions. According to Conisbee, here "La Tour employs a crowded space, somewhat awkward, eccentric poses, and a self-conscious use of artificial light to create the atmosphere of a silent and unsettling drama. Every feature of the painting - gestures, expressions, enigmatic poses, the play of light and shade - works to produce a tense, concentrated mood. Even the elevated viewpoint adds to the tension we experience from this encounter. [Even though early in his career, it] is already characteristic of La Tour's approach to painting: he rarely chooses an innovative subject, but he meditates on it deeply and presents it in a highly focused or concentrated way. There is no visual distraction, no ornament for ornament's sake. Forms are reduced to essentials, as are the gestures and expressions of his actors, establishing in this case a threatening mood".

Old Peasant Couple Eating (c. 1620s)

Old Peasant Couple Eating

This painting is one of La Tour's key early works. It amply demonstrates his flair for capturing the mood of his subjects. As author Vittorio Maria de Bonis notes, the couple "ignore each other and instead sink their melancholy gaze into the eyes of the viewer as they angrily and greedily eat spoonfuls of the bright peas inside chipped, rough terracotta bowls". The mature figures are desperately hungry and they might easily symbolize the population of Lorraine (in Northeastern France) who had grown exhausted through war and famine. The bleak mood is reinforced through the dramatic Baroque style that sets the figures, whose faces and figures are cast in shadows, against a dour, featureless, background. De Bonis calls the painting, "one of the most eloquently desolate images of hunger and poverty ever painted". This work is also interesting because, unlike the artist's later pieces, it is not obvious to the viewer what message La Tour was trying to communicate. According to author Philip Conisbee, the work, "presents something of a dilemma for the modern viewer, for there are no clues about how the artist and his public understood such a picture: should we pity their plight, look down on them, or just savor their picturesqueness?". Conisbee suggests that La Tour invests his subjects "with a certain dignity, which perhaps means we should admire them as 'salt of the earth'". It is this fascinating element of ambiguity that contributed to the painters soaring reputation amongst 20 th century historians.

The Fortune-Teller (c. 1630-1634)

The Fortune-Teller

Art historian Deanna MacDonald writes, "This painting is full of enigmas relating to its painter, subject and provenance. Signed in Latin in its top right corner 'G. de La Tour Fecit Luneuilla Lothar' (made by G. de La Tour, Lunéville Lorraine), this is one of the few daylight paintings by an artist who specialised in nocturnal scenes". In this narrative work, a well-to-do young man looks questioningly at the toothless old woman on the far right of the canvas as she holds out a coin. While focused on whatever tale she is spinning, he fails to realize that the other women standing around him, in cahoots with the older woman who has distracted him, are in the act of picking his pockets. MacDonald observes, "There is no indication of setting, though all wear colourful costumes. Are they in a brothel? Are the robbers gypsies? As it has a theatrical air, could it be a scene from a play, such as the parable of the prodigal son? But la Tour does not play the scene for comedy or eroticism. Sideways glances, expressive hand gestures and a mix of shadow and crisp daylight create an atmosphere ripe with tension: what will happen next? Details are meticulously rendered; from the patterns on the colourful fabrics to the words AMOR (love) and FIDES (faith) written minutely on the young man's watch chain. Despite the moralising theme, the artist seems to imbue each character with humanity: the foppish youth seems more naïve than dissolute and there is a sense of sadness and peril about the thieves (punishments for stealing in the 17th century included cutting off an ear, branding or death). The picture seems to warn of the dangers for all in a world of deceit and greed". MacDonald also introduces an interesting historical caveat into readings of the painting. In 1984 the art historian Christopher Wright published a book in which he claimed that all of La Tour's daylight pictures were in fact forgeries. MacDonald observes, "Wright, who as a young scholar had been involved in La Tour authentications, said that he had been pressured to pronounce the work genuine by powerful figures such as Sir Anthony Blunt, the famed art expert/spy. Wright even suggested that a French restorer (who died in 1954) named Delobre who worked for Wildenstein in the USA had painted them. Many have dismissed Wright's claims, including the Met [Museum of Art] but an aura of mystery remains".

Oil on canvas - Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, USA

The Penitent Magdalen (c. 1640)

The Penitent Magdalen

The Penitent Magdalen is rich in the type of religious symbolism that would have been easily understood by audiences of La Tour's day. As the Metropolitan Museum of Art explains, "the quiet atmosphere of this painting perfectly fits the subject, Mary Magdalen, who renounced the pleasures of the flesh for a life of penance and contemplation. She is shown with a mirror, symbol of vanity; a skull, emblem of mortality; and a candle that probably references her spiritual enlightenment". Here, as in his others works in this style, La Tour uses heightened chiaroscuro - or tenebrism - to underscore the mood and/or motivation of his subject. Conisbee writes, "At its most basic level the darkened interior enabled the artist to play on the theme of light and reflected light in contrast with the surrounding obscurity. It could set a mood conducive to contemplation and meditation, both for the actors in his pictures and for the participating spectator. Light and darkness had symbolic values on several levels: most obviously in the contrast between the spiritual darkness of our mortal world, illuminated by the light of the divine". Indeed, Mary Magdalene is a fitting subject for La Tour's Baroque treatment. The candle, which was widely interpreted as a symbol of Christ's presence, features here to connote an act of meditation and Magdalen's new faith (in Jesus) that will lead her away from a life of sin. But perhaps the most striking stylistic feature of this work is the reflection of the candle in the mirror. As Conisbee explains, "The two flames really dominate the picture, not only because they are the source of light, illuminating the figure of the Magdalene, but also because the repeated image of the flame and its reflection are so compelling; we can see both sides of the candle, and the far side best because it is illuminated by the reflected light. Only the skull on Magdalene's lap suggests that she may be pondering the earthly reality of our mortality and the eternal truth of the spiritual life, while deciding to abandon the blandishments of the material world".

Saint Joseph in the Carpenter's Shop (c. 1642-44)

Saint Joseph in the Carpenter's Shop

A rarely depicted subject, La Tour has shown Jesus as a young boy in the workshop of his carpenter father. Joseph dominates the scene and is bent down over a piece of wood, which he is working with a tool. Jesus holds a candle to help his father to see, effectively bathing his whole face in light. Joseph's eyes seem to be turned upward towards his son, suggesting they are in conversation. In fact this could be read as a humble familial scene were it not for the painting's title. La Tour's nocturne painting shows how he used lighting effects to elevate drama over naturalism. As authors Claudio Falcucci and Simona Rinaldi write, "one example of the extent to which what is portrayed in his paintings can be divorced from reality is visible in the Child's hand hiding the candle [...]. It is commonly known that light transmitted across a hand with its fingers closed produces a bright red colour, which is at its brightest where the fingers touch one another, and darker where the hand is thicker. In no case do we ever observe a white contour around the fingers, especially when they slightly overlap as they do in the representation. [...] Indeed, a constant element in La Tour's canvases seems to be his moving beyond the mere description of the physical phenomenon of the light released by the candle in the name of a more highly symbolic value".

Oil on canvas - Louvre Museum, Paris, France

The Choirboy (c. 1645)

The Choirboy

This work is characteristic of La Tour's penetrating application of the Baroque style. To enhance the drama of his scenes, and demonstrating his sophisticated handling of chiaroscuro that expresses itself in sharp tenebrism, he allowed his figures, in this case a solitary choirboy wearing a plumb colored alb with a delicately embroidered collar, to be illuminated by the light of a single candle. What is perhaps most interesting about this work from a compositional point of view is that the candle is not visible; rather it is hidden behind the hymn book that the boy holds. Only the tip of the flame and the base of the candle in the boy's hand is peeking out from behind the book. La Tour's clever composition reinforces the dedication of the boy to the task at hand while perhaps allowing the viewer to contemplate their own faith and devotion. Art critic Laura Cumming offers this reading of the painting: "La Tour must have seen a Caravaggio somewhere, if only as a print - but nobody has ever put such emphasis on the behaviour of candlelight. The way it strokes surfaces, sends out showers of highlights, gives warmth as well as light while casting everything beyond its ambit into blackness. His figures appear spellbound by the magical flame, seized with its mystery; only the candlelight shifts. He often achieves this by hiding the light source itself. [Here a] choirboy holds a candle up to his hymns but we only see the tip of the flame above a book that's as black as night. All that is visible, in fact, in this cave of seething darkness are the fingers, the face and this mesmerising flicker, giving the queer sense of a soul in trance. And what a serene mask the boy has, radically simplified and slightly oriental like many of de La Tour's characters. His candlelight seems to sheer away irregularities like a laser, polishing skin and making diamonds of eyes".

The Adoration of the Shepherds (c. 1645)

The Adoration of the Shepherds

In La Tour's nativity painting, the Christ child, swaddled in white cloth, is featured bathed in light in the center of the composition. Mary sits on the left, hands clasped in prayer while Joseph, sitting directly across from her, has his hands raised in praise. Two shepherds and a peasant girl occupy the background and look down on the baby adoringly. While the nativity has been a popular theme for artists throughout history, La Tour's approach distinguishes itself from other works in this theme. According to Conisbee, "the story lent itself to a nighttime scene, and there are countless prototypes in the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. La Tour has gathered a group of five sympathetically observed worshippers around the Christ Child, who seems to radiate more light than he can possibly simply reflect from the candle held by Joseph. This last detail is significant. [...] La Tour brings a sense of intimacy and tenderness to the scene, and we can admire his powers of observation in the swaddled child. [...] There is no sense of theatricality in La Tour's interpretation: no dramatic gestures or exaggerated expressions". In this example we can see a style of rendering figures that helped distinguish La Tour from the approach of Caravaggio (to whom he was/is routinely compared). As Falcucci and Rinaldi explain, "while Caravaggio tended to emphasize the sculptural qualities of his subjects by painting them before he painted the background, which he then darkened depending on what was needed, always being sure not to let the background and the subject come into pictorial contact with each other, La Tour made very distinct borders between the background colours, which he then painted independently so that the figures were transformed into shapes applied to the background, with no dialectical rapport between the two".

Biography of Georges de La Tour

Childhood and education.

Vic-sur-Seille is located in the northeastern part of France.

There is little information about the early life of Georges de La Tour, and without a surviving self-portrait (assuming he had painted one), we do not even have an image of the artist. All that is known (rumors that he was arrogant and unpopular with his neighbors notwithstanding) is that he was the second of seven children, born in Vic-sur-Seille (Vic), a large market town in the independent duchy of Lorraine (now part of north-eastern France). His father, Jean de La Tour, was a baker, his mother, also from a family of bakers, was named Sybille de Crospaux. His baptismal certificate was registered in Vic on 14 March 1593.

Early Training

That La Tour must have had an early interest in art can be assumed given that in the seventeenth century one would not have been accepted into a workshop to study unless he or she had already demonstrated a nascent talent. Art historian Gail Feigenbaum suggests that "His apprenticeship likely began around 1605, perhaps in Vic with Alphonse de Rambervilliers, a writer and amateur engraver close to the bishop of Metz, and he very likely worked in Nancy with the painter, etcher, and draftsman Jacques Bellange". Authors Claudio Falcucci and Simona Rinaldi have also conjectured that La Tour "received his artistic education in the workshop of the Swiss painter Claude Dogoz, who was working in the lively Lorraine area at the time". And while little is known about his religious upbringing, Feigenbaum observes that his devotional paintings, such as The Repentant Magdalen (c. 1640), "demonstrate powerful introspection and intense spirituality [that] may reflect the strong Catholic sentiments of Lorraine, which bordered northern Protestant states".

The influence of the Italian Baroque style , especially in the dark and dramatic backgrounds of Caravaggio (La Tour was still a teenager when the archetypal artistic rebel died, or was killed), begs the question: where would the artist have seen and studied such paintings? As Feigenbaum writes, "there has been much unresolved discussion about a possible trip to Rome". La Tour had begun painting with Dogoz and it is thought that he could have travelled to Italy with Dogoz between 1614-16, where he discovered the paintings of Caravaggio. Feigenbaum acknowledges that "La Tour's low-life subjects and his bold tenebrist manner of painting seem to be heavily indebted to the work of Caravaggio [...] and his followers in Rome [such as Bartolomeo Manfredi]. But Caravaggio's influence was spreading throughout Europe in the second decade of the century so it was by no means necessary for La Tour to have made an Italian trip". Indeed, Gerrit van Honthorst and Dirck van Baburen were working in the Baroque style in Utrecht, while in Lorraine, Jacques Bellange and Jean Leclerc were both exploring the dramatic potential for tenebrist lighting effects.

Mature Period

La Tour was married to Diane Le Nerf, a woman of status and wealth, in 1617 (La Tour gave his profession as painter on the marriage certificate). Her family were silversmiths and her father served as the minister of finance to the Duke of Lorraine. Having lived at the Le Nerf's family residence in Vic, they settled in the city of Lunéville (15 miles south of Vic) following the birth of their first child (Philipp) in 1620. (The couple were parents to a total of nine or ten children, although only three would reach adulthood, including their son, Etienne, who was officially ennobled as a painter in 1670.) In Lunéville, La Tour joined the studio of Claude Baccarat and between 1621-24 the Duke bought two of La Tour's paintings. With his reputation secured, La Tour established his own workshop in Lunéville where he employed apprentices.

16 la tour

The La Tours lived through a time of great uncertainty. It was the period of the Thirty Year War (1618-48) and by the 1630s Lunéville was becoming increasingly unsafe. As historian Gabriel Diss states, "La Tour needed great determination and unflinching energy not to be crushed by the incursions of armed rabble, the hordes of poverty-stricken refugees, the state of famine and the plague that struck Lorraine three times, in 1631, 1633, and 1636. He shouldered the great responsibility of supplying the needs of a workshop and a family of nine children, a burden made still greater in 1631 when he was appointed guardian of his nephews Antoine and François Nardoyen. The records show that he performed his duties with fairness and clear-sightedness".

The independent duchy of Lorraine (now northeastern France) sat between France and the Germany of the Holy Roman Empire. The citizens of Lunéville (located within the duchy of Lorraine) were trapped in the war between these two mighty colonial powers and La Tour and his family lived with a constant fear for their safety. After his home was ransacked, and his workshop razed, during a sack of Lunéville by the French in 1638, La Tour moved his family 30km to Nancy. Despite his close friendship with the Duke of Lorraine, La Tour now pledged his loyalty to the French. With his family safely settled in Nancy, La Tour left for Paris in 1639 where he took up his most prestigious position as peintre du roi ("Painter in Ordinary to King Louis XIII of France"). He made such an impression in this role that he was granted permission to set up a living space in the Louvre a year later.

Later Period

Once Lorraine became secure again (now under control of the French) La Tour was able to return home with his family. According to records dated 1643 he established a successful new studio in Lunéville. He produced religious and domestic scenes, both genres of which were popular throughout Europe. According to author Philip Conisbee, "La Tour conducted his artistic affairs in a solidly professional way: there were contracts, agreements, and schedules of payment. We know that he ran a small studio [and engaged apprentices] who helped out in the day-to-day running of his business and learned at least the rudiments of art from him. He [also] presumably trained his son Etienne".

16 la tour

Feigenbaum writes that, "between 1644 and 1651, the marquis de La Ferté-Sénecterre [...] the French governor of Lorraine, received six of La Tour's paintings as tribute from the cities of the region". It was also during this period that his nocturne paintings became popular. Anchored in the Baroque style, it was through his nocturnes that La Tour distinguished himself among his peers in the subtle way he used light to dramatize the actions of his subjects. Historian Pat Bauer writes, "The paintings of La Tour's maturity [...] are marked by a startling geometric simplification of the human form and by the depiction of interior scenes lit only by the glare of candles or torches. His religious paintings done in this manner have a monumental simplicity and a stillness that expresses both contemplative quiet and wonder".

Tragically, the plague that swept through Europe in the 1650s ravaged Lorraine and it is believed to have been the cause of La Tour's wife's death in 1652. What wider success La Tour might have achieved will remain unknown as this epidemic, a possibly a deep sense of grief, most likely claimed the artist's life only two weeks after his wife's passing. La Tour was fifty-eight years old.

The Legacy of Georges de La Tour

According to the author Dimitri Salmon, "La Tour's works were seldom copied in engravings and hence little known, nor did he have a biographer to record his life for posterity. Finally, Lorraine was constantly devasted by war for three centuries, and with it not only the painter's workshop but also the churches, monasteries, castles and mansions where his paintings hung". It wasn't until the early twentieth century that art historians began to examine La Tour's work through a contemporary lens, beginning in 1915 through the writings of art historian Hermann Voss. Calling his art "one of the great rediscoveries of the 20 th century", the historian Susan Moore states, "Today it seems inconceivable that this most compelling and singular of artists, highly successful in his day, should have been almost entirely forgotten for three centuries. [...] The reconstruction and rehabilitation of his artistic career have been described as 'the triumph of art history, and its justification'".

La Tour's work has had a profound influence on subsequent generations of artists. As Salmon states, "it is the fame of these works which is taken to task by the artists of the end of the twentieth and beginning of the twenty-first century as much as their beauty and the interest they arouse. Whatever their age, their career path or their nationality, whatever their aim or their technique, in their own way, today's artists - from the Chinese artist Yin Xin to the Mexican Alejandra Figueroa, the French artists Jérome Mesnager, Gérard Collin-Thiébaut and Frédéric Coché and the Italian Gerardo Dicrola - amply illustrate the tremendous infatuation with Georges de La Tour and the fascination that his Christ with Saint Joseph in the Carpenter's Shop and Adoration of the Shepherds exert more powerfully than ever before".

Great bargain and excellent tour. I cannot think of any must-see stops in greater LA that were missed. Our guide, Aron, was patient, knowledgeable and entertaining. He made adjustments to the schedule to personally accommodate the desires of our group. Ours was a very international group representing England, New Zealand and Canada. If you are looking for a quiet tour without interacting with others, this isn’t for you. But if you don’t take yourself seriously, enjoy a laugh, and don’t mind people staring as you drive around in this colorful bus you couldn’t make a better choice….

With only one day to see the LA area, my husband and I decided to book this tour. We looked over A LOT of other tours online, but we found this one to be the most well-rounded. After having now completed the tour, I can attest that it didn’t disappoint!

Our guide, Jake, was HILLARIOUS! He was fun, kept the tour upbeat, and made sure to answer any questions we had. A total rock star! The time spent at each stop wasn’t necessarily long, however we spent the most time at the places that were most interesting – the grove, the strip, and the Griffith Observatory.

After the tour, we received an email asking for feedback. To which, they actually responded to – you don’t see that these days so kudos to them! We’re excited to hear that they’re looking into providing different tours.

We’d love to book with them again, but wouldn’t want to do the one we already did (great general/overview tour). We’re hoping to narrow do one in future that appeals to our specific interests – that way, we can spend more time at the spots we’d enjoy most 🙂

Our family of 7 (2 adults and 5 kids aged 6-15) had a wonderful time on this tour. We started and ended in Santa Monica and travelled all over the city, with several stops to explore. We visited Venice, drove by the stars’ homes, stopped at Graystone, Griffith Park, Hollywood Boulevard, and a lunch stop at the Farmer’s Market. Our guide, Kimeko, was knowledgeable, friendly, and entertaining, The tour lasted from 9:45 until about 5pm, and our guide was full of information, yet gave us some time to just take in the scenery, She welcomed questions. And yes, the price was $75. I think that many people may suspect that this tour may be inferior to others due to the low price. The Rastabus is simply a great tour which just happens to be a great deal.

My husband and I were staying in Palm Springs for a week and decided to take a day trip out to LA to see the main sites. Having only one day in LA, we decided to look for a tour that would show us the most sites. This tour did that and a lot more! Jake was an amazing tour guide!! Very funny and entertaining and played amazing music the whole time (we regret not asking him for his playlist afterwards!). He showed us everything we could’ve wanted to see and also had so many stories to share about his own personal experiences with stars in the area. His knowledge of the area was also very helpful when we had to take detours due to traffic. He always kept the bus moving and got us everywhere quickly. It was fun to hear some of crazy hollywood stories about the stars and see sites that most tours woudn’t tell you about (“this is where Lindsey Lohan crashed her car”, “this is where Mel Gibson was arrested for drunk driving”!). Even though it was an action packed day, nothing felt rushed. We had sufficient time to explore Rodeo Drive, Hollywood Blvd and Griffith Park on our own. I still can’t believe how cheap this tour is as we would’ve paid a lot more for it! Even though we only had the one day in LA, we really feel like we saw everything there. I will recommend this tour to anyone going to LA. Thanks for a fantastic day Jake!!

We went on the LA tour with Rastabus and thoroughly enjoyed it. The bus was not jam packed like others ive been on so everyone talked to each other. The guide was knowledgeable and constantly kept us informed on where we were going and info about the place – he also answered any questions anyone had. We pretty much covered all the spots that everyone wanted to see and our driver did ask if there was anything in particular we wanted to see then to just let him know, so that was good. We stopped at each place for just the right amount of time, not too long to get bored but just long enough to see what was needed. The trip lasted the whole day and i would definitely recommend if you are visiting LA.

A great tour, takes in all the LA sites and a bit extra. Kimeko picked us up from our hotel and then deviated to show myself and 2 teenage daughters The Venice Canals. We met up with others at Santa Monica and were greeted with coffee and doughnuts, then went on to Venice Beach. Following this stopped at Rodeo Drive and the farmers market (for amazing fish tacos). Off then to Hollywood spotting lots of celebs homes, Griffith Park (Hollywood Sign) and then Sunset Strip. Definitely one of the highlights of our time in California and because the bus is small you get to know your fellow travelers too. Would do it all again

A full day tour…This is the best value for tours in LA. I booked this for the first day of my vacation in LA. The tour takes you to the most popular areas… the stars homes, Beverly Hills, Hollywood etc. etc… with stops along the way to get out and take pictures and explore. I had planned a day trip to Beverly Hills, but the stop on the tour was all I really needed … gave me an extra day on my vacation. The tour is very personable, our guide was witty and there was 9 of us from 4 different countries all laughing and joking. You see the other tours going by, everyone looking like statues with headphones on. I’d book it quick!

For anyone that really wants to see LA this is the tour for you. Sit back, relax and and love it. Tour through all the hot spots in LA and enjoy the sights! The tour of LA was great and i believe the Segway tour of venice beach and santa monica was just as good! I never knew how much a fun a segway was (even though you do look funny). Both of of my tour guides for both tours were great. i was a little nervous at first coming to LA – but this company made me feel very safe and secure. I left my camera on the bus and they hand delivered it later in the night to my hotel for free. It shows the really care.

Tooling around LA on the Rastabus is a great way to be introduced to LA in a short amount of time. Our guide Matt was a whole lot of fun, and very knowledgeable about the city. You get to see all the main tourist destinations, and some gossip on some of the celebrities who live there. The Farmer’s Market is a great place to stop and have lunch, and it is great to start the day in beautiful Santa Monica. If you are only in LA for a short time, this is a really good way to make sure you don’t miss anything.

Based upon tripadvisor reviews I booked a tour. This tour could not have been better!!!! Our tour guide was so good I brought back lunch for him at a restaurant he recommended. Our tour guide showed so much enthusiasm it was like we were the first group he took (which we were not we later learned). This is a tour you will enjoy and learn from.

This tour was awesome! Stuart is very knowledgeable, likeable & fun. The stops on the tour were very interesting & I learned a lot. I’ve been on quite a few tours of this nature & this was one of my favorites – highly recommend!

Did a walking tour of LA (LA in a Day). Vicky started us off with the Hollywood tour & Damien (who is also the owner) was our guide for the rest of the day. The entire day was awesome, I suggest this tour. There isn’t that much walking, to be honest. It’s very fun!

Michelle B.

My boyfriend & I took the DTLA Murder Mystery Ghost tour with Stuart as our guide & had the most amazing time! We had experiences we will never forget! We were able to see parts & people of Los Angeles that we never would have without Stuart. I give this 10/10. If we visit again, this will be at the top of our to do list!

Sara Pozueta

Absolutely amazing! Highly recommend taking both The Real Hollywood Tour & the Central Downtown LA tour! Our time in LA wouldn’t have been the same. Great way to learn about the city, see it from a different angle, explore the local life & learn about its history & filming industry. Damien our guide was fantastic!

Sylvie was our host & was fantastic. She had a lot of local knowledge & gave her unique perspective as someone who had moved to the area many years ago, so she had an outsider’s as well as an insider’s perspective. The tour gave us a great overview of Santa Monica & Venice & set us up for a great rest of the day.

Paula Lindgren

We took 2 tours, the Santa Monica & Venice Bike tour (with Sylvie) & the Real Hollywood tour (with Damien). Both were great & highly recommended. Sylvie & Damien were informative, knowledgeable & easy to talk to. They were like you were with friends. We were traveling as a family of 4 with 2 boys (15 & 12). We all enjoyed the tours.

LA in a Day Tour

$110 / pp Includes all metro travel

Walking & Metro

Less than 4 miles walking Over a day it's an easy distance

10am - 6pm (8 hours) Daily

LA is so big – how are you going to see it in one day? Easy! Join our LA in a Day tour. There’s no breezing through on buses with pre-recorded audio commentary playing (which is always out of sync), we’ll show you the hidden nooks and crannies of the city that other tour companies don’t (because it doesn’t fit with traffic patterns) and give you a feel for the real Los Angeles. Our LA in a Day tour is the only all-day Metro and walking tour of Los Angeles – and the only one on which you’ll see seven different venues of the Oscars Ceremony.

We’ll start your LA in a Day tour in Hollywood (where else) and show you how and why LA became the center of the American entertainment industry. There’s a huge amount of fascinating movie history surrounding the famous Walk of Fame, including the oldest house in Hollywood (where Charlie Chaplin’s kids went to school), the Capitol Records Building, the Egyptian Theater, the Dolby Theater (home of the Oscars) and the TCL Chinese Theater, and you’ll learn about it all.

Next we take the subway to downtown – it’s actually the fastest way to get there. DTLA is the most dynamic part of the city right now and it’s also the biggest historic downtown of any major city in the U.S. The city was founded here in 1781 and it has a huge number of iconic buildings, such as City Hall and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. By this time you’ll be hungry, so we pause your LA in a Day tour for lunch at one of the top food destinations in America, Grand Central Market.

After lunch the tour continues in DTLA, then we head to Santa Monica on the E-Line. It’s a lovely way to travel through the West Side. Once in SaMo we’ll give you a tour of the area (including the famous Santa Monica Pier), before finishing your LA in a Day tour at 3rd Street Promenade, a perfect place to watch the sun set while enjoying cocktails and dinner. By now you’ll have had a real experience of Los Angeles and made some great memories to take home with you.

Our tours can sell out. If you can't make a booking email us at  [email protected] , telling us when you want to do the tour and how many guests are in your party, and if we can squeeze you in we’ll let you know.

The Deeper Meanings Behind Kendrick’s Drake Diss “6:16 in LA”

Kendrick Lamar’s “6:16 in LA” is full of layers and double meanings. Here’s a full breakdown.

Kendrick Lamar warned Drake that he’d go “back to back” on “Euphoria” earlier this week, and now he made good on that promise with “6:16 in LA.”

Dot spends much of the song surgically picking apart Drake’s OVO crew, planting seeds that there is a rat among them. This angle is especially effective given how paranoid Drake already was before all of this (on songs like “Champagne Poetry,” he raps about how his “cleaning staff’s plotting extortion” on him).

The smooth flip of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” makes the track sound amazing even without the shots, but of course, Kendrick even found a way to hide a deeper meaning behind the sample itself, which has ties into Drake’s family (more on that below).

“6:16 in LA” is full of layered references and even more “ quintuple entendres,” so here’s a breakdown of all of the deeper meanings behind the track.

16 la tour

The title “6:16 in LA” has a lot of symbolism behind it. The most obvious interpretation is that Kendrick is using Drake’s long history of releasing songs with timestamp titles against him. But there’s more. Dot dropped the track at 6:16 a.m., and the numerology in “6:16” could represent at least five other meanings.

June 16 (6/16) is the date that Father's Day is celebrated in many countries, including the US and Canada. This might be Kendrick’s way of doubling down on bars he had on “Euphoria” about Drake being a deadbeat dad (“I got a son to raise, but I can see you don't know nothin' 'bout that”) as well as a possible reference to Drake having an absent father during his childhood.

June 16 is also Tupac’s birthday. Kendrick has a deep affinity for Pac and revealed that he took offense to Drake buying his million-dollar ring on “Euphoria.” And of course, Drake tried coming after Kendrick last month by using artificial intelligence to create a Tupac diss verse on “Taylor Made Freestyle.”

HBO’s Euphoria, executive-produced by Drake, aired its first episode on June 16, 2019. The show has been criticized for sexualizing teenaged female characters, and after naming his last song “Euphoria,” this could be Kendrick’s way of subtly commenting on the rumors of Drake’s odd history with underaged women.

OJ Simpson’s murder case began on June 16, 1995, and this reference could tie into the black leather glove on the song’s cover artwork (more on that below), which might be Kendrick’s way of implying that some of Drake’s own crimes will soon come to light.

Fans are also pointing to the Bible verse, Corinthians 6:16, which reads, “Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, ‘The two will become one flesh.’” This could be yet another jab at Drake’s tastes in women.

The cover art

16 la tour

The cover artwork features a black leather Maybach equestrian glove. The image immediately evokes the memory of the notorious black leather gloves that were used as evidence in OJ Simpson’s 1995 murder case. Under this interpretation, Dot could be implying that members of Drake’s team, like his right-hand man Chubbs (who Kendrick previously mentioned on “Euphoria”), have committed crimes and gotten away with it. The actual glove on the cover art is used for horse-riding, though, so it also could be a callback to Drake’s bar on “In The Morning” where he rapped, “I love thick women because my aunt, she rode equestrian.” To this day, nobody really knows what the hell he meant by that, and this image could be Kendrick’s way of calling back that unusual bar and making fun of Drake’s history with women.

The song is built around a sample of Al Green’s “What a Wonderful Thing Love Is,” which has direct ties to Drake’s family. Drake’s father’s cousin, Mabon “Teenie” Hodges, was a guitarist and songwriter for Al Green, and he’s credited for playing on this specific song. The track is also rumored to be co-produced by Taylor Swift’s frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff. If that’s true, then “6:16 in LA” would literally be a “Taylor made” song. Antonoff produces a lot of Swift’s music, so this could act as a response to Drake’s AI “Taylor Made Freestyle,” where he insinuated that Kendrick has to take orders from the pop singer. Because of all this, it’s uncertain whether the song will ever hit streaming services. Clearing an Al Green sample is difficult, especially when it’s attached to a family member of the guy you’re dissing. And it’s doubtful that Antonoff wants to officially throw himself in the middle of this rap war, especially since he more than likely produced this song for Kendrick before the beef broke out and didn’t know it would be used for a diss record. Still, this was a brilliant maneuver on Kendrick’s part.

16 la tour

The bars on “6:16 in LA” seem to have one central goal: make Drake question everything. Throughout the song, Dot implies that there are snakes in Drake’s OVO camp, and he keeps the lyrics vague enough to leave the rapper suspicious of everyone around him, with bars like:

“Off-white Sunseeker at the marina/ Fuck a Phantom, I like to buy yachts when I get the fever/ Wine cooler spill on my white t-shirt, the sightseer/ Trifecta, money, morals, and culture, that's my leisure/ My visa, passport tatted, I show up in Ibiza”

In the song’s opening bars, Kendrick seemingly mocks Drake for constantly rapping about rich shit that normal people can’t relate to (like going “from the Vava to Cinquante-Cinq, then back to the Vava” ), but there could also be some hidden layers behind them. Drake recently purchased a new Rolls Royce Phantom , and this could be a double entendre, with Dot implying that he doesn’t have to move silently like a ghost (or in the same vehicle as Drake) and he’d rather make it very loud and clear that he’s pulling up on people. Cole and Drake also reunited in a Rolls Royce Ghost in 2019, which might have pissed Kendrick off. Drake also recently bought a yacht , so in the next line, Dot raps that he doesn’t need glamorous items because “money, morals, and culture” are enough to satisfy him, implying that Drake is filling these holes in his life with material possessions. Finally, Drake frequents Ibiza as a vacation spot, so Dot appears to be saying he’s not afraid to pull up on him anywhere.

"Conspiracies about Cash, dog? That's not even the leak/ Find the jewels like Kash Doll, I just need you to think/ Are you finally ready to play have-you-ever? Let's see/ Have you ever thought that OVO is workin' for me? Fake bully, I hate bullies, you must be a terrible person/ Everyone inside your team is whispering that you deserve it”

Drake is already a very paranoid guy, with a habit of rapping about how he doesn’t trust people , so Kendrick instills even more distrust in him by insinuating that members of the OVO camp have been leaking information to him. This narrative was already established by The Weeknd on “All to Myself” when he sang about Drake having “leaks in his operation.” And on “6:16 in LA,” the “conspiracies about Cash” line might be Kendrick’s way of saying that Drake thought The Weeknd’s manager (Amir “Cash” Esmalian) was the one leaking information about him, which is why he sent shots at him on “Push Ups.” The “find the jewels like Kash Doll” line left everyone confused at first ( even Kash Doll herself ), but Dot might be referencing the time she was robbed of $500,000 worth of jewelry last year. Separately, there were also rumors that Kash Doll and Drake were dating a few years ago.

“ It was fun until you started to put money in the streets/ Then lost money 'cause they came back with no receipts/ I'm sorry that I live a boring life, I love peace/ But war-ready if the world is ready to see you bleed ”

Back in 2018, Pusha-T alluded to the fact that Drake offered $100,000 to whoever could give him ammunition to use against the Virginia rapper when they were beefing, and now Kendrick is implying that he’s trying to do the same thing this time. On “Euphoria,” Kendrick already made it clear that he won’t use these shady tactics in his own beefs, rapping, “Why would I call around tryna get dirt on niggas? Y'all think all my life is rap?” Now, Kendrick is using these bars to convince people that Drake is actually the one fighting on his back foot, desperately paying the streets to get dirt on his opponent.

“ A hundred niggas that you got on salary/ And twenty of 'em want you as a casualty/ And one of them is actually next to you/ And two of them is practically tired of your lifestyle/ Just don't got the audacity to tell you ”

Kendrick goes on to say that some members of Drake’s OVO crew have a deep disdain for him and that they’re actually closer to Dot than he might realize. Pusha-T already revealed that he found out Drake had a child through a woman who was pillow-talking with OVO producer Noah “40” Shebib, so it wouldn’t be that shocking if there were more leaks in the camp. The person “next to” Drake that Kendrick is referring to could be his right-hand man Chubbs, but there’s no way of telling for sure.

“ You're playin' nerdy with Zack Bia and Twitter bots/ But your reality can't hide behind wifi/ Your lil' memes is losin' steam, they figured you out / The forced opinions is not convincin', y'all need a new route/ It's time that you look around on who's around you/Before you figure that you're not alone, ask what Mike would do ”

First, Kendrick makes fun of Drake for aligning so closely with Zack Bia, a DJ and record executive who just opened up on the It's All A Blur Tour (here’s a full deep dive on Bia if you’re interested). Then Kendrick brings up the rumors that Drake uses Twitter bots to troll his opposition online, something that was happening to Pusha-T last year.  Kendrick hints that the memes Drake has been posting over the last few weeks aren’t working, before imploring The Boy to start investigating his own crew and find out who’s betraying him. Dot closes the diss by playing on Drake’s affinity for Michael Jackson, weaving his song “You Are Not Alone” into the bar and sarcastically telling Drake to put himself in the singer’s shoes now, since he thinks he’s “actually Michael Jackson.”

What does '6:16 in LA' mean? Fans analyze Kendrick Lamar's latest Drake diss

16 la tour

Kendrick Lamar is clocked in.

Following a surprise drop of his brutal Drake diss track " Euphoria " on Tuesday, the Compton, California, native released " 6:16 in LA " Friday morning on his Instagram , and it already has fans going down a rabbit hole to collect all the Easter eggs about the Lamar's Canadian adversary.

The song title is an obvious reference to a timestamp song format Drake has popularized, including "6PM in New York" from "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" and "8am in Charlotte" from his most recent album, "For All the Dogs."

However, fans across social media believe "6:16" is a quadruple, quintile or perhaps an infinite entendre.

THE LATEST: Drake, Kendrick Lamar diss tracks escalate with 'Meet the Grahams' and 'Family Matters'

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

June 16 is Father's Day

Some fans believe the number is in relation to June 16 , which is Father's Day in the U.S. and Canada. That would be significant because in "Euphoria" Lamar seems to take a shot at Drake's relationship with his son, Adonis. "I got a son to raise, but I can see you don't know nothing about that," he rapped.

"6/16 is Canadian Father’s Day??? LMFAOOOOOO no way Kendrick is this diabolical," one fan remarked on social media .

June 16 marks Tupac Shakur's birthday

June 16 is also the late Tupac Shakur's birthday. Last week, Drake took down his reply diss "Taylor Made (Freestyle)" after the late "All Eyez on Me" rapper's estate sent a cease-and-desist letter to him over his use of an AI-generated imitation of Tupac's voice, calling it "a blatant abuse of the legacy of one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time."

In a letter obtained by USA TODAY on April 24, the estate of Tupac and his mother,  Afeni Shakur , says it's "deeply dismayed and disappointed by your unauthorized use of Tupac's voice and personality in the 'Taylor Made (Freestyle)' record."

'Euphoria,' executive produced by Drake, premiered on June 16

Pushing it further, the first episode of "Euphoria," which is executive produced by Drake, debuted on HBO on June 16, 2019 .

"The first ever episode of Drake’s “EUPHORIA” tv series also premiered on the 16th of June. Kendrick is crazy," a fan tweeted at the realization .

Kendrick Lamar doubles down with fiery Drake diss: Listen to '6:16 in LA'

Fans connect '6:16' to Corinthians 6:16

Other fans have alleged the "6:16" is a diss aimed at the mother of Drake's child Sophie Brussaux, a French artist and former porn star.

" 6:16 is not a time stamp ," one person posted on X along with a screenshot of Corinthians 6:16 that states: "Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, 'The two will become one flesh.'"

How does June 16 connect to O.J. Simpson and Nicole Brown Simpson's funeral?

Lamar also questioned Drake's connection to the Black American community as a biracial man in "Euphoria," leading some fans to believe the "6:16" is a reference to Nicole Brown Simpson 's funeral date.

The cover of "6:16 in LA" includes a glove, eerily similar to the one at the center of the late O.J. Simpson 's murder trial, for which he was acquitted. "Kendrick is implying he murdered a white woman. Hence the glove," one person wrote .

Another commented , "Just so y’all know, the glove means he murdered a white woman. Hence the OJ glove.(Calling drake a white woman)."

June 16 was the apparent date of a Kendrick Lamar concert in Toronto

In the scope for more meanings, fans connected June 16, 2011 , to the apparent date of Lamar's concert in Drake's hometown of Toronto . This would have been a month before the Compton rapper released his debut studio album "Section.80."

Whether or not Lamar intended for all the references to the number remains unclear, but fans are running wild with guesses.

What to know about Kendrick Lamar and Drake's beef

Lamar and Drake's feud  goes back more than  a decade to 2013, when Lamar rapped on the Big Sean song "Control" about how he wanted to "murder" Drake and other prominent rappers.

Earlier this year, Lamar appeared on Future and Metro Boomin's "Like That" and rejected the idea of there being a "big three" in rap, declaring on the track, "It's just big me." The lyric was a response to  J. Cole  referring to himself, Drake and Lamar as the "big three" on Drake's 2023 track "First Person Shooter."

Drake subsequently fired back with two diss tracks directed at Lamar, "Push Ups" and "Taylor Made Freestyle," the latter which was pulled from streaming services after Shakur's estate threated to sue.

Lamar references this on "Euphoria" by rapping that Shakur is turning "in his grave."

J. Cole also  responded to Lamar  on the song "7 Minute Drill" in April, rapping, "He still doing shows but fell off like 'The Simpsons." He also rapped that Lamar is past his "prime." But shortly after releasing the song, Cole apologized and said it was "lame" and "goofy" of him to do so.

"I ain't gonna lie to y'all the past two days felt terrible," he told the audience at the Dreamville Festival days later, going on to call Lamar as "one of the greatest."

Avezzano - Napoli

Giro d'Italia 2024

16 la tour

Stage clearly divided into two parts. The first 180 km are the run-up to a demanding finale with short and punchy climbs.

Planimetria/Map Tappa 10 Giro d'Italia 2024

Pompei - Cusano Mutri (Bocca della Selva)

The stage begins calmly with the first part of the race as good as flat.

Planimetria/Map Stage 11 Giro d'Italia 2024

Foiano di Val Fortore - Francavilla al Mare

Stage clearly divided into two parts. The first crosses the Apennines to Termoli and the second, entirely flat, is played out along the ss.16 state road and the shores of the Adriatic Sea.

Altimetria/Profile Stage 12 Giro d'Italia 2024

Martinsicuro - Fano

A flat stage for the first 50 km and then studded with walls and hairpin bends to the finish. After a rather simple initial part along the Adriatic coast, the stage moves away from the sea to face repeated short, steep climbs that come in the final two thirds of the route.

Planimetria/Map Stage 13 Giro d'Italia 2024

Riccione - Cento

Completely flat stage through the plains of Emilia-Romagna.

16 la tour

Castiglione delle Stiviere - Desenzano del Garda TUDOR ITT

The second time trial test is predominantly flat with several undulations within it and an elevation gain of roughly 250 metres. The riders cross a few villages and a series of minor ups and downs. The road is almost constantly slightly downhill heading towards the shore of Lake Garda.

16 la tour

Manerba del Garda - Livigno (Mottolino)

Stage 15, arguably the hardest of the entire Giro, sees the start of a tough week of mountains. The route from Manerba del Garda to Livigno amounts to 220 kilometres and takes in an elevation gain of 5,700 metres.

Planimetria/Map Stage 16 Giro d'Italia 2024

Livigno - Santa Cristina Valgardena/St. Christina in Gröden (Monte Pana)

A high mountain fraction broken up by the Adige and Isarco valleys, basically a 3-part stage: mountain, with Foscagno Stelvio (this year’s Cima Coppi, the highest point of the race); plain, from Prato allo Stevio until shortly after Bolzano; mountain, with the ascent of Passo Pinei and the finish in Val Gardena.

Planimetria/Map Stage 17 Giro d'Italia 2024

Selva di Val Gardena/Wolkenstein in Gröden - Passo del Brocon

Intense climbing stage with brutal amount of elevation gain despite its short distance. The route climbs from the start on the Passo Sella, followed by a flat section in the Fassa and Fiemme Valleys all the way to Predazzo.

Planimetria/Map Stage 18 Giro d'Italia 2024

Fiera di Primiero - Padova

This stage features a single, rather modest climb in the opening half of the route (the KOM of Lamon) followed by about 150 km of slightly downhill false flat.

Planimetria/Map Stage 19 Giro d'Italia 2024

Mortegliano - Sappada

The stage begins by riding up the Tagliamento Valley, heading north and crossing the towns of San Daniele del Friuli, Forgaria nel Friuli and Peonis. After Tolmezzo, the succession of climbs leading to the finish line begins: Passo Duron, Sella Valcalda and Cima Sappada.

16 la tour

Alpago - Bassano del Grappa

Relatively flat opening at Lake Santa Croce, heading downhill to Vittorio Veneto and the Muro di Ca' del Poggio, which leads into the Prosecco area. After crossing the Piave River, the route reaches the slopes of the brutal Monte Grappa, which will be tackled twice.

Planimetria/Map Stage 21 Giro d'Italia 2024

Roma - Roma

The final stage is divided into two parts: the first is the peloton’s outing to Lido di Castel Fusano on the Tyrrhenian Sea. It's 16 kilometres one way and another 16 kilometres back before the stage enters its second and final part, the finishing circuit (8 laps) of 9.5 kilometres, which very much resembles last year’s lap through the eternal city.

Planimetria/Map Stage 1 Giro d'Italia 2024

Venaria Reale - Torino

Stage 1 kicks off in the suburbs of Turin and finishes in the centre. After a flat initial phase of around 45 km, the riders will tackle three climbs.

16 la tour

San Francesco al Campo - Santuario di Oropa (Biella)

Challenging stage featuring the first summit finish. After a flat run-up across Canavese and Vercellese areas the pink caravan will reach Valdengo, where a succession of minor climbs begins.

Planimetria/Map Stage 3 Giro d'Italia 2024

Novara - Fossano

Predominantly flat stage with some minor ups and downs in the central part.

Planimetria/Map Stage 4 Giro d'Italia 2024

Acqui Terme - Andora

A fairly flat stage, the only obstacles are the Col di Melogno climb (8 km at around 5%) midway through the stage and the final Capo Mele, which is tackled from the same side as during the Milano-Sanremo.

Planimetria/Map stage 5 Giro d'Italia 2024

Genova - Lucca

The riders leave the city of Genova and travel along the coast on the Aurelia state road in the first 50 km. The stage has just two climbs on the menu.

Planimetria/Map Stage 6 Giro d'Italia 2024

Torre del Lago Puccini (Viareggio) - Rapolano Terme

A demanding stage characterised by a hilly second part and three gravel sectors totalling almost 12 km. The first two are shared with the Strade Bianche, the third is a new one.

Planimetria/Map Stage 7 Giro d'Italia 2024

Foligno - Perugia TUDOR ITT

Individual time trial clearly divided into two parts. The first 32 km, flat and largely non-technical, lead to the foot of Umbria’s capital city of Perugia. The riders then tackle the ascent of Casaglia, with gradients up to 16%.

Planimetria/Map Stage 8 Giro d'Italia 2024

Spoleto - Prati di Tivo

Short stage with no flat ground to play with and plenty of elevation gain.
