You can get other types of UAE visas, not only the 3 months Dubai visa, but also 30 days Dubai visa. Below is a list of the UAE visa's single and multiple entries and prices.

The multiple-entry visas for the United Arab Emirates are sometimes confusing. They begin counting from the day you enter the country and allow you to enter it several times within the next 30 or 90 days.

Dubai 3 months Visit Visa Price Guide - 2022 Rates

The 3 months Dubai visa allows one to Stay in UAE for around 90 days. After 90 days, you are given 10 days, a grace period, to figure out how to extend your stay. After the 10 days you have not legalized your stay in UAE, you will be fined for overstaying.

The overstay fee that applies to visitors who continue to stay in the UAE after the expiration of their visit visa is distinct from the overstay fine that applies to residents who remain in the country after their visa has expired.

The fines levied against persons who fall into this group are far higher than those set against residents. This type of visa holder also receives a grace period when they apply.

Nevertheless, this privilege is highly restricted, as it only lasts for ten days and only applies to posts made during this time; daily fees are imposed. During this period, the visiting visa can be renewed or converted into a resident visa if the applicant chooses. The following are the fines one can get for overstaying in UAE;

  • On the first day of overstay, AED 200
  • Each consecutive day AED100
  • Service fees are AED 100

3 month visit visa uae from india

Knowing the UAE 3 months visit visa price will help you determine which one you need for your trip. This is because you can choose between a visa single entry or multiple entry. In any case, you must comply with the requirements and submit the necessary documentation to the authorities.

In this article, we will show you what the UAE 3-month visa is and what the application process is like. Likewise, you will know the differences relevant to the two types of visit visas that you can acquire and their price.

UAE 3 Months Visit Visa Price: Breakdown of Costs and Charges

uae 3 months visit visa price

Before knowing the UAE 3 months visit visa price, we will explain in detail what it is about. In this case, the 3-month Emirates visa or long-term visit visa is a tourist visa to spend 90 days in the country. Therefore, it is a very common visa for those traveling to the UAE for pleasure, vacation, or to visit friends or family.

However, the authorities did not design this type of visa for those who wish to work or study in the country. Therefore, people who wish to carry out the aforementioned activities must obtain the appropriate visa. Additionally, you have 2 UAE 3-month visa options, single entry, and multiple entries.

There are small differences between each of them, which we will explain later. For the tourist visa, you will not need a sponsor to obtain it, just pay the UAE visit visa price. Nevertheless, for a visa to visit family or friends, you will need the sponsorship of a resident of the Emirates.

In this case, it is your family member or friend who must apply for the sight visa on one of the official websites of the Emirati authorities. On the other hand, if you need a tourist visa, you can apply for it yourself through the different means.

Standard Processing Price of UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

As we mentioned previously, you can opt for two types of visit visa, single entry or multiple entry. In any case, the UAE 3 months visit visa price is as follows:

  • For the 3-month single entry visit visa, the cost you will have to cover is AED 600 but it is not extendable.
  • For the 3-month multiple entry visit visa, the cost you will need to cover is AED 1,740 but it is not extendable.

Thus, since the Dubai visit visa price varies depending on the type, you should carefully analyze which one you need.

Medical Insurance of UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

You cannot purchase health insurance in the Emirates with a visit visa of any type, including a 3-month visa. However, you can purchase travel insurance that has medical coverage with your tourist visa or visit to the country. This insurance is for visitors from various countries, for which you must present the documentation along with the visa application.

Nevertheless, this type of insurance does not entitle you to free medical care during your trip to the UAE. Still, through the said insurance, you will not have to spend more in case of an emergency. Additionally, you may be covered for medical expenses up to AED 150,000, although certain accidents and illnesses are excluded.

On the other hand, the cost of insurance varies according to certain conditions, among which are:

  • Duration of stay in the country
  • Insurance coverage
  • The moment of purchase
  • Number of people included in the package

However, the cost can be between 4% and 10% of the total trip, including the Dubai visit visa price 3 month.

Airport Security Price of UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

At UAE airports there is no extra fee for single or multiple entry visas. Therefore, you will only have to pay the UAE 3 months visit visa price to get some from them.

Additional Charges of UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

There are no extra charges for this type of visa but you cannot exceed the legal stay established. If you stay in the UAE beyond the time set for your visa type, you will have to pay AED 50 for each day. Moreover, you will have to pay AED 200-350 for the mandatory exit pass to travel outside the country legally.

How long does it take to get the 3 Month Dubai Visa

Despite being a long-term visa, the process covers the standard processing time of other visas . In this case, the waiting time from the request to obtaining it is between 2 and 3 days. However, some authorized centers may offer express visas, which are more expensive but you can obtain it in between 4 and 8 hours.

Nonetheless, there are fraudulent agencies that take advantage of people who want to travel to the country and offer illegal visas. Therefore, be sure to check the legality of the agencies that offer avenues so as not to go through an unpleasant process.

Extension Process: Requirements and Procedures for UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

In the UAE it is possible to extend any type of visa for the time established by the authorities of the nation. For 3-month visit visas, you can extend it for an additional 30 days by paying the extension fee. That is, apart from the UAE 3 months visit visa price, you will have to pay AED 600 if you want to extend it.

Eligibility for UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

Any citizen with the nationality of one of the permitted countries can obtain a 3-month visit visa. However, you must present the documentation that we will detail below:

  • Recent photograph 43×55 mm in size (in certain cases it can be 2”x2” or 50×50 mm)
  • Passport valid for at least 6 months
  • Color copy of the applicant with all legible data
  • Copy of round-trip plane tickets

However, if the visa is for a family member, you must present the following documentation:

  • Copy of Emirates ID of the sponsor
  • Proof of residence of the applicant
  • Relationship proof

Reasons for rejection

Despite submitting the documentation and paying the UAE 3 months visit visa price, they may reject your application. Some of the reasons why this situation occurs are the following:

  • Women under 22 years of age travel without their parents, guardians, or husbands.
  • People without formal professional training.
  • For those who have handwritten passports, as is the case with certain nationalities.
  • Applicants with criminal records, who have committed fraud, or who have engaged in inappropriate conduct in the UAE.
  • The application form includes false information about the candidate.
  • Errors in any data entered in the form (for example, error in the passport number).
  • People who already have an approved visa to travel to the UAE but have not yet done so
  • A person who obtained a work visa but did not enter the UAE.
  • A person who resided in the country at some point but left without properly canceling their visa.

Application Process for UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

There are 3 ways to apply for a 3-month visit visa to the UAE, on the GDRFA website or mobile app, or at an AMER centre. In the first two cases, the procedure is as we will describe it below:

  • If you are applying for the first time, register on the website.
  • Then select single or multiple entry visa application service for a 3-month visit visa.
  • Fill out all information correctly and submit the required documents.
  • Pay the UAE visit visa price.
  • Finally, submit the application.

If you fill out the form correctly, send the necessary documents, and pay the fee, you just have to wait for approval.

Application at an Amer center

There is the possibility of submitting the 90-day visa application in person through one of the AMER centers. The procedure is the next:

  • Go to the AMER center most convenient for you.
  • At the reception, you must apply for the long-term visit visa service.
  • Submit the necessary documents.
  • Pay the UAE 3 months visit visa price.
  • Submit your request.

If approved, you will receive a notification to the email address you provided with your visa application. However, if you are missing any documents, you will have a maximum of 30 days to submit those requested again. Therefore, if you do not provide the said documents, they will automatically cancel your application and you will have to apply from the beginning.

Nevertheless, this method is only valid if the applicant comes in person, so it cannot be done by a third party or a travel agency.

Fees and Charges for UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

As we mentioned earlier, the Dubai visit visa price is AED 600 for single entry and AED 1,740 for multiple entries. Additionally, if the visa is for a family member, the cost is AED 1,750, including a refundable deposit of AED 1,000. However, you must consider the period of stay allowed so as not to incur extra fines and charges for your trip.

Hence, before your visa period ends, you must extend it or leave the country to avoid overstaying.

Single Entry vs. Multiple Entries: Differences and Benefits of UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

There are 2 categories of UAE 3-month visa, single entry and multiple entries. Furthermore, in either case, you can request them through official online services, or authorized agencies. Next, we will show you the main characteristics of each one so that you can determine the one that best suits you:

Single Entry Visit Visa

The single entry visa is a document that allows the bearer to enter the UAE once for a specific period. Therefore, with the 3-month single entry visa, you will be able to stay this time without difficulties, even if only once. This is because when you leave the country, the visa automatically loses its validity and you will have to apply for one again.

Additionally, single-entry visas are commonly for short-term visits, which in this case, is for tourism purposes. Likewise, it is for those who wish to visit without the intention of leaving and re-entering the UAE.

Multiple Entry Visit Visa

3-month multiple-entry visas allow holders to enter and leave the country for the duration of the permitted stay. This means that, unlike the single entry visa, it is still valid when leaving the UAE. In this way, the bearer can leave and enter as many times as necessary before the document expires.

Therefore, this type of visa is suitable for those who travel frequently or want to visit neighboring countries and return to the Emirates. However, they must respect the duration of the visa, because if they leave the country and the visa expires, they cannot enter again. Yet, unlike single-entry, multi-entry is more flexible.

Therefore, this type of 3-month UAE visa is appropriate for those visiting relatives or if you want to visit other regions while focusing your stay in the country.

Comparing Single and Multiple Entry Visas of UAE 3 Months Visit

When you pay the Dubai visit visa price 3 month, you can choose between multiple or single entry. However, it will depend on your preferences or travel needs, since, as you have seen, each one has its particularities. Below, we will show you the subtle differences between each one so you can choose the one that best suits you.

Travel Frequency

You should consider the frequency of your travel, as this will determine what type of visa you need. In this sense, if you need to make a one-time trip, this type of visa is for you. In contrast, if you need to come and go during the 3-month duration, choose multiple entries.

Another thing you need to consider is the UAE 3 months visit visa price at the time of selection. As we have informed you, the cost of the multiple entry visas is higher than that of the single entry document. Thus, if you are on a tight budget, adjust your travel itinerary so you can cover the cost and have the most suitable visa.

Flexibility

That is the most outstanding aspect since the flexibility of both visas is the most notable difference apart from the price. If you need to leave and enter several times according to your needs, you can only obtain it through a multiple-entry visa.

4 Easy-Peasy Ways to Get UAE/Dubai Tourist Visa from India

HOW TO GET DUBAI VISA FROM INDIA FROM EMIRATES, VFS, AGENTS & HOTELS

By Deb Pati last updated on November 1, 2020

Sharing is caring!

Dheeraj Asnani, a friend and colleague was the one to visit Dubai with an UAE visa and this article has been written with direct inputs from him.

Ok, just so that there is no confusion, I want to make a confession: there is no such thing as a Dubai tourist visa from India. It doesn’t exist. Dubai is a city in the country named UAE, and you get a visa for UAE, not Dubai.

However, since probably 99% of the people who visit UAE, would no doubt visit Dubai or at least make a stop there, it makes sense to call this Dubai tourist visa, rather than the right way to call it: Visit visa for UAE . And people who frequent Abu Dhabi, also refer it to as Abu Dhabi tourist visa.

So now that we have that out of the way, let’s talk about my trip to Dubai.

Going to Dubai has been a dream for a long time. So now when my sister wanted to indulge in some wedding shopping in Dubai, this was the perfect opportunity. We had a great time in Dubai for more than a week or so, and I would definitely recommend you to visit it once.

3 month visit visa uae from india

We all got the UAE tourist visa from India and the whole thing was super easy. The UAE tourist visa is an electronic authorization visa and it will not be stamped to your passport as a sticker. You will receive the UAE e visa as a PDF in your email. Here is how I got it and all the options you have.

Where to Get Dubai Tourist Visa from India

Now, that’s the million-dollar question. Why? Coz’ the UAE embassy in India doesn’t issue tourist visas to Indians. Here is the screenshot from the official website.

3 month visit visa uae from india

They quote a few different ways to get the visa :

A tourist visa for an Indian National, holding an ordinary passport, is arranged by a sponsor in UAE. It can also be obtained on booking a hotel in UAE or through the Emirates Airlines Office or the Air Arabia Office or through a Travel Agent in India.

Dubai Visa Requirements for Tourism

Uae visa application form.

A UAE visa application form can vary a little depending on who you are applying with. But apart from your personal details, you always would need to fill in:

  • The Particulars of Sponsor / Host in the UAE
  • Residence Address in UAE  (e.g., hotel, family or friend’s house, etc.)

Hotel Reservations in UAE

You don’t always have to have a hotel reservation in UAE before you go there. This will depend on your agent. Bit if you apply UAE visa through a hotel which will be your sponsor, then of course, you need to make a reservation.

Round-trip Flights to UAE

Roundtrip flight tickets to Dubai from India is a requirement for UAE visa for Indians. It doesn’t have to be a confirmed flight ticket. There are many ways to rent a flight itinerary for visa .

Financial Proof

You need to submit

  • Either last 2 Years Form 16 or last 2 Years Income Tax return
  • Bank statements to demonstrate a minimum gross income of INR 2 lakhs per annum from a business, profession or employment.
  • investments of at least INR 5 Lakhs or above, in form of fixed deposits in Banks or Post Office.

Visa Cover Letter

A visa cover letter is needed especially for 90 day visas. You need to write a letter mentioning the reason of travel, stay & host details and guarantee that you will leave Dubai within the visa validity period.

This letter also should contain two local contact details, staying in different address, as well as their Photo id cum Address proof.

Additional Requirements for Newly Married Couple:

In case of the spouse name is not there on the passport, a newly married couple would need to provide:

  • Marriage Certificate / Notarized Affidavit on an INR 100/- stamp paper
  • NOC from parents with photo id proof, Wedding card and Marriage photograph of the couple, if they are travelling immediately after marriage.

UAE Visa Requirements for Females

Females above 18 and below 25 years without accompanied application of either parents/relatives older than her will likely be rejected or in some instances will experience deferred visa approval.

They might require NOC from parents / husband, Photo ID of parents/ husband.

COVID Requirements for Dubai Visa

As part of the COVID-19 measures, you need to complete this  health declaration form  and give it to the staff at check-in. This form will also be available at check-in.

You will also need to complete the  quarantine undertaking form  given to you onboard if Dubai is your final destination. Hand this form to the Dubai Health Authority staff on arrival.

If you previously applied for a UAE visit visa but did not enter the country, then in order to get approval, the PRO of the applied travel agency or sponsor must go to the Immigration department to clear the previous U.A.E. visa application.

Different Ways to Apply for UAE Visa

So as I said before, there are many ways to apply for a visit visa for UAE. Here are those. The Dubai visa application process is different from that for other countries. In some cases, you can apply for UAE visa online and in some cases, you can’t. Although you receive the Dubai e Visa in electronic format only.

1. Apply for Dubai Visa via Sponsor/Agent

So I think the question here is where should you get it. And I believe the most cost-effective option is to get it through a travel agent. This is the option that I took, in order to get the cheapest Dubai tourist visa.

There are many travel agents who deal with this. Seriously so many. To do this, you can fill in the Dubai visa application form and then call them to ask about the payment. The Dubai visit visa price often changes. I paid 5000 INR for a 30 days UAE visa when I got it.

Some of the Dubai visa agents do need you to make hotel reservations with them in order to get a visa. Although many agents that it wouldn’t process the visa without any hotel reservations, that isn’t really the case.

How to get Dubai tourist visa from India

2. Apply for Emirates Dubai Visa

If you have booked your flight with Emirates, you can get a visa through Emirates online after your ticket is confirmed. It’s one of the fastest and sure-shot ways of getting a UAE tourist visa. The flight itinerary should include the desired time in Dubai. The itinerary into and out of Dubai should be on one ticket, and these flights must be Emirates flights.  Using Emirates, you can get a point to point visa for 96 hours or tourist visas for 30/ 90 days. Once approved, the visa cannot be extended beyond the original period of stay.

You do need to pay the VFS global processing fees for this.

3. Air Arabia UAE Visa

Same goes for Fly Dubai. After you buy your flight tickets, you can contact the travel shops of Fly Dubai and get your visa processed through them. The advantage with Fly Dubai is that you can extend the visas you get through them, while with Emirates you can’t.

4. VFS Dubai Visa

You can apply for the UAE tourist visa from India through VFS Global as well. You can visit the nearest VFS Global application center and submit the documents there. They do require you to have your round-trip tickets from Emirates or Fly Dubai. Along with that, you would need to submit the bank statements, IT return, etc.

Types of UAE Visit Visa

A UAE visit visa can be any of the following.

Dubai Single Entry Visa

A single entry UAE visa can be issued for

Dubai Multiple Entry Visa

A UAE multiple entry visa can be issued for

Dubai Transit Visa

A UAE transit visa, while not technically a tourist visa allows you to be in UAE for point-to-point visits. This is not a Dubai airport transit visa per se.

Indians can transit in Dubai or Abu Dhabi airport without needing a visa if they have a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country within 24 hours. They must stay in the international transit area of the airport and have documents required for the next destination.

A Dubai transit visa( not Dubai airport transit visa) can be issued for

UAE Visa Fees for Tourism

The 30-day or 90-day UAE visas are really popular. The fees often vary as per the travel season & as per government directives. Different travel agents charge different prices as well.

As I mentioned above, the UAE 3 months visit visa and the one for 30 days come with multiple entry options as well. However, the Dubai visa cost almost double for multiple entries.

Dubai Visa on Arrival for Indian Passport with US Visa or UK Visa

Indian citizens  with U.S. visas or green cards can get Dubai visa on arrival. UAE visa on arrival is also available to Indians with U.K. or EU resident permits.

They can receive UAE entry visa or permit upon arrival to UAE valid for 14 days and can be extended it only once for a similar period.

The U.S. visa or green card or U.K Resident Permit or EU resident permit must be valid for at least six months, as well as your passport.

UAE Entry Permit/Dubai Entry Visa

The UAE entry permit is the Dubai visa on arrival that Indians can obtain with valid visas/residence permits from U.S, U.K. or EU.

Dubai entry permit cost

It will cost AED100, renewable for only one time at a cost of AED250.

Dubai Immigration

I booked round-trip flight tickets. In the Indian immigration, they asked me to show my return ticket and I promptly showed them. Although, I had confirmed tickets as my plans were all set, in case yours are not, you can always buy a refundable ticket from Orbitz.com or Expedia etc.

In Dubai, they simply asked for my passport and a copy of the Dubai e visa.

What Happens if I Overstay in Dubai on a Tourist Visa?

Overstaying your Dubai visa is a very serious matter. You will be fined AED 100 for every day you have overstayed. So in case you need to stay longer, simply apply for a Dubai visa extension.

Can You Work in Dubai With Tourist Visa?

No, you can’t. Dubai is not different from any other country in the world. As a rule of thumb, you can never work legally with a tourist visa anywhere in the world. Maybe some countries are a little lax about it, but trust me Dubai is not.

So if you want to work in UAE, you need to apply for a UAE Work Visa and Work Permit. Note that if you work in Dubai without authorization, you may end up paying a fine and get deported, even if they don’t pay you.

You must have enough funds to cover your stay in the UAE. The exact amount required may vary depending on your purpose of visit and the duration of your stay. You may be required to provide bank statements or other financial documents to prove that you have sufficient funds.

Sponsorship

If you are not a UAE citizen, you will need a sponsor to apply for a visit visa. Your sponsor can be a UAE resident or a company based in the UAE. They will need to provide a copy of their Emirates ID and other supporting documents.

Age Restrictions

There are no specific age restrictions for applying for a UAE visit visa. However, if you are under the age of 18, you will need to provide a consent letter from your parents or legal guardian.

It is important to note that meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee that your visit visa application will be approved. The final decision is at the discretion of the UAE immigration authorities.

Application Process for 3-Month Visit Visa

If you are planning to visit the UAE for a period of up to 90 days, you will need to apply for a 3-month visit visa. Here is a step-by-step guide to the application process.

Online Application

The first step is to apply for your visit visa online. You can do this by visiting the official website of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in the emirate where you will be entering the UAE. You will need to fill out an online application form and submit it along with the required documents.

Document Requirements

To apply for a 3-month visit visa, you will need to provide the following documents:

  • A valid passport with a minimum validity of six months
  • A passport-sized photograph
  • Proof of health insurance
  • Proof of financial means to support your stay in the UAE
  • A confirmed return ticket

Once you have submitted your online application and the required documents, you will receive a reference number that you can use to track the status of your application.

Payment and Confirmation

The next step is to pay the visa fee, which varies depending on the type of visa and the duration of your stay. For a 3-month visit visa, the fee is AED 750. You can pay the fee online using a credit or debit card.

Once your payment has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email with your visa approval. You can then print out your visa and bring it with you when you travel to the UAE.

Overall, the application process for a 3-month visit visa is straightforward and can be completed online from the comfort of your own home. Just make sure to have all the required documents ready and pay the visa fee on time to avoid any delays or issues.

Additional Costs and Considerations

When applying for a UAE visit visa for a period of three months, there are additional costs and considerations that you should keep in mind to avoid any unexpected expenses. Here are some important factors to consider:

Medical Insurance

It is mandatory for all visitors to have medical insurance when travelling to the UAE. This includes those who are applying for a visit visa for three months. The cost of medical insurance can vary depending on the provider and the coverage you choose. It is recommended that you do your research and compare different options to find the best policy that suits your needs and budget.

Visa Extension Fees

If you wish to extend your visit visa for another three months, you will need to pay an extension fee. The fee for extending a visit visa for three months is AED 600. It is important to note that you cannot extend your visit visa beyond six months. If you plan to stay in the UAE for longer than six months, you will need to apply for a different type of visa.

Overstay Penalties

If you overstay your visit visa, you will be subject to overstay penalties. The penalty for overstaying a visit visa is AED 100 per day for the first 6 days, and AED 200 per day thereafter. It is important to ensure that you leave the UAE before your visit visa expires to avoid any penalties.

In summary, when applying for a UAE visit visa for three months, you should consider the cost of medical insurance, visa extension fees, and overstay penalties. By being aware of these additional costs and considerations, you can ensure that your trip to the UAE is hassle-free and enjoyable.

Discounts and Exemptions

If you are planning to apply for a UAE visit visa for 3 months, you may be eligible for certain discounts or exemptions based on your circumstances. Here are some of the categories that may qualify for such benefits:

Children and Infants

Children under the age of 18 who are traveling with their parents or legal guardians are exempt from visa fees. However, they must be sponsored by their parents or guardians and their visas must be applied for at the same time as their sponsors’ visas.

Infants under the age of 2 are also exempt from visa fees, regardless of whether they are traveling with their parents or not.

Elderly Visitors

If you are over the age of 70, you may be eligible for a 50% discount on your UAE visit visa fees for 3 months. You will need to provide proof of your age when applying for your visa.

Special Pass Holders

If you hold a diplomatic or special passport, you may be exempt from visa fees when visiting the UAE. However, this exemption is subject to approval from the UAE authorities and you may need to provide additional documentation to support your application.

It’s important to note that these discounts and exemptions are subject to change and may not apply to all applicants. It’s always best to check with the relevant authorities or your visa agent to confirm your eligibility and any applicable fees before submitting your application.

UAE flights: Indian airlines issue guidelines for visit visa holders travelling to Dubai

I n response to recent travel updates for visitors from India to UAE, a few Indian airlines have issued a set of guidelines for passengers.

The advisory, issued by airlines to travel agents in India and in UAE, states that “travellers should carry necessary documents when travelling from Indian cities to the UAE.”

An Air India Express spokesperson confirmed to Khaleej Times that they issued an advisory urging passengers to carry valid passports, return tickets, accommodation details, and financial proof.

The advisory stated that travellers from India must ensure their passport is valid for at least six months from the date of entry.

“Visitors must have a confirmed return ticket, proof of confirmed hotel reservation, carry or have in their account Dh3,000 (approximately Rs68,000) for a 1-month visa and Dh5,000 for a longer stay, and additional documents of relatives or friends who are residents of the UAE,” the advisory stated.

Travel agents based in India and Dubai told Khaleej Times that they have received advisories from many airlines flying between the two countries.

“We have received circulars from SpiceJet, Air India, and other airlines who have issued such advisories so that travellers can be equipped with all the necessary documents and funds for ease in travel,” said Taha Siddique, owner of Siddique Travels.

According to a circular shared with the agents by SpiceJet, the airline warns the passengers to carry all the documents and that “failure to do so may lead to deportation.”

The advisory also stated that “passengers who do not have the required documents will be denied boarding on our flights at the departing airport and all related charges will be debited to the ticketing agency."

“We will have to bear the expenses of the return if our client is denied entry in the UAE airports. So we make sure that they have all the related documents before we book their tickets,” said Siddique.

According to travel agents, travellers are well aware of the situation and are carrying all the necessary documents.

“As many were not allowed to board the flights from India, or were sent back from the UAE airport, travellers are not taking any chance now and they are well prepared in advance,” said Deepak Kaushik, operations manager at ToursOnBoard.

According to agents, if a visitor is denied entry in the UAE, “it becomes the airline's responsibility to take the traveller back to his home country, and this is the reason that they are conducting rigorous checks before issuing a boarding pass,” said Bharath Aidasani, managing partner at Pluto Travels.

“Travellers at the check-in counters have their documents checked by airline executives. If travellers fail to produce the necessary documents, they may be sent back or asked to obtain the documents before boarding the flight,” said Firoz Maliyakkal, founder and CEO of Tahira Tours and Travels.

Explained: Why UAE is new haven for India's super rich

A report mentions that approximately 4,300 millionaires are expected to leave india this year and a majority of them are headed for dubai in the uae. .

Listen to Story

  • UAE is the new preferred destination for wealthy Indians
  • 4,300 millionaires expected to leave India for UAE in 2023
  • 40% of Dubai's homebuyers in 2022 were Indians

The Indian diaspora is present in most regions across the world as they migrate in search of better opportunities. Countries like the US, UK, Australia, and Canada are some of the preferred countries.

However, the latest preferred country for the ultra-wealthy to move to is the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as per a report by Henley & Partners, an international investment migration advisory firm.

The report mentions that approximately 4,300 millionaires are expected to leave India this year and a majority of them are headed for Dubai in the UAE.

"India continues to lose large numbers of millionaires, especially to the UAE. However, in our view these outflows are not particularly concerning as India continues to produce far more new HNWIs than it loses to emigration. Furthermore, the bulk of the millionaires who leave India tend to retain business interests and second homes in the country, which is a positive sign," said the report.

The UAE attracts more wealthy Indians than destinations like Australia, Singapore, and the US, with Dubai's property market earning 16 billion dirhams (Rs 35,500 crore) from Indian buyers last year, nearly double the 2021 figure.

A major chunk, which comes to 40% of homebuyers were from India, the majority being from Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad, Surat, Hyderabad, and Punjab. The remaining were Indians living in the UAE (40%) and global Indians (20%) based in different parts of the world.

There is a growing trend of affluent Indians looking at cities such as Dubai, Singapore, and London to set up overseas family offices.

Members of the younger generation, particularly those who have studied abroad or recently returned from overseas campuses to join family businesses, are increasingly interested in setting up family offices in foreign countries.

Founders of various startups are also moving their operations abroad and establishing family offices there. Several factors motivate this trend. Firstly, they seek to protect part of their wealth from potential tax or regulatory issues in India.

Secondly, having a family office abroad provides easier access to foreign markets and supports business expansion in other regions. Thirdly, it allows for the diversification of investments and business ventures.

The golden visa programme

In addition to the ultra-wealthy, many professionals are now opting for Dubai as their destination. The Golden Visa programme, which was expanded in 2022 to include more workers, skilled professionals, scientists, and researchers, has made the UAE even more appealing to affluent Indians.

This programme offers a long-term residence visa, enabling foreign talent to live, work, or study in the UAE with exclusive benefits.

Tech entrepreneurs head to the UAE

Drawn by the simplicity of starting a business, the complete exemption from personal income tax, and a more supportive policy environment, many of India's tech entrepreneurs have been relocating to the UAE through its golden visa program.

This shift comes as India has become the world's third-largest startup ecosystem, following the US and China.

In Dubai, Indians make up over 30% of the startup community, and the city is keen to attract even more tech talent from India.

To achieve this, Dubai is offering 100,000 golden visas, which allow entrepreneurs and technology investors to reside in the country for up to 10 years, significantly longer than standard visas.

UAE's business-friendly policies

Recently, the UAE has been shifting its economic strategy away from traditional models that tie residency to employment, especially prevalent in oil-rich regions.

The government has introduced reforms such as broadening the eligibility criteria for long-term 'golden' visas and removed the requirement for companies to have a majority local partner.

They have also transitioned to a Monday-Friday working week and legalised unmarried couples to live together.

These changes are aimed at transforming Dubai from a transient city to one that attracts and retains expatriates, encouraging them to establish businesses. The results have been promising.

Officials reported to Bloomberg that Dubai saw a rise in active business licences, reaching 411,802 in 2023. This marks a 30% increase from 2022 and a substantial 75% increase from 2021 levels.

The issuance of three-month visit visas in the UAE has been discontinued, Khaleej Times can reveal. A Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) call centre executive said the three-month visas are no longer available.

The call centre executive informed, “The three-month entry permit was available a few months ago, but not anymore. Visitors to the UAE can come on a 30- or 60-day visa." The executive added, “Travel agencies can issue them".

Stay up to date with the latest news. Follow KT on WhatsApp Channels.

Travel agents confirmed the development to Khaleej Times. They said the option to request a three-month visit visa is unavailable on the portal they use to issue permits.

The three-month visit visa was discontinued during the Covid-19 pandemic, with a 60-day one introduced instead. However, the three-month scheme was made available again as a leisure visa in May.

In Dubai, the 90-day visa is being issued to visitors who are first-degree relatives of residents. A call centre executive at Amer confirmed this, saying residents can bring their parents or relatives on the three-month scheme.

Several agents have reported that the three-month visit visas have been temporarily suspended. “As per the information we have received, the issuance of long-term leisure visas has been stopped temporarily. The demand for this visa was slightly increasing due to the winter months ahead,” said Firoz Maliyakkal, founder and CEO of Tahira Tours and Travels.

Long-term visas:

Visitors have several options to enter the country and stay for an extended period.

Job exploration visa

The UAE offers a range of visa options for individuals seeking employment opportunities in the country. These visas enable holders to enter the UAE and search for work that aligns with their skills and expertise.

The job exploration visa is available in three options without requiring a guarantor or a host. According to the ICP website, the visa is available for 60, 90 and 120 days with a single-entry permit.

Fees for job exploration visa

The fee for a job exploration visa for 60 days is Dh200, for 90 days is Dh300, and the fee for 120 days is Dh400. The visitor will also have to provide a financial guarantee of a security deposit of Dh1,000.

This visa can be applied via digital channels like the official website or smart application of GDRFA and ICP. The service is also available at Amer centres in the country.

5-year multiple entry visa

The 5-year multiple-entry visa enables visitors to enter the UAE multiple times through self-sponsorship, allowing a 90-day stay during each visit. Visa holders can extend their stay for an additional 90 days without leaving the country. This visa facilitates families from abroad to spend extended periods with their loved ones in the UAE.

The Green Visa is issued for three categories: Investor/partner, high-level skilled worker and self-employment.

Applicants for the multiple entry visa must submit supporting documents, including a six-month bank statement.

People wanting to issue the Green visa can apply via digital channels (website/smart application), customer happiness centre or at Amer Service Centre with the required documents.

Search for investment opportunities visa (single entry):

The search for investment opportunities visa helps investors discover business opportunities and potentially find new partners or clients in the UAE and is available for 60,90 and 120 days.

This entry permit enables the issuance of a single-entry visa without requiring a guarantor or host. The visa can be applied on the official portal of ICP
