Know More about this tour

The precise origins of Bilbao have not been determined. However, a settlement had already been established and had significantly developed on both banks of the "ria del Nervion" before it officially became a villa. It was Don Diego Lopez de Haro V, lord of Vizcaya, who gave the city his title in the year 1300, due to its great importance as a commercial and maritime center at the time. At the beginning of the 20th century, Bilbao was the great economic icon of the Basque Country and amongst the most important cities in the State. The city is now undergoing a new physical transformation, becoming more and more appealing to visitors. You will be able to travel to The Guggenheim museum , the Euskalduna Palace, a conference and music center, the plaza Ensanche, the Jardines de albia and San Vicente Church, the Abando area and the commercial center Zubiarte, the Gran Via, the Corte Ingles, the church of the Sagrado Corazon, The Arriquibar square, the Casa Alhondiga, Indautxu aera, the Bizkaia square, the commercial area, the Moyua square, the Bellas artes museum, the Dona Casilda Park, the Sagrado Corazon square, the University of Deusto and all the main buildings that represent the transformed image of this city.

loved it easy way to see the city

We had a wonderful time in Bilbao. The hotel was located close to the railway station and the metro and also to the Guggenheim. So most of the interesting spots were around us. Dont miss the Guggenheim. It is a great place and a must. We also take a tour to San Sebastian, using the Bus from the Bus terminal. In both cities we take the Hop on Hop off Bus to get an overview first and than walk around. We take the Mercury Hotel for 7 days, nice and friendly staff At the arrival we take a taxi to the hotel. When we go back, we take the airport shuttle bus, for just 1,45 each. Very cheap.

The full circle of the tour takes about an hour. The information on the tour is good - it's recorded rather than a live guide and is in English, Spanish and French. It would be better if the bus waited at the stops until the advertised time - we missed it by seconds after running for it to return to the start, certain the driver would have seen us but still drove off.

Great way to see the city sites and decide where to hop off.

Bilbao Hop-On Hop-Off was excellent and traversed much of the city and sights. Tour audio/commentary was very good and clear. Really enjoyed this hour-long tour. Only drawback was that the tour runs only once an hour--with only one bus in the system, so we did not get off and instead rode through the route and got off where we started at the Guggenheim.

As always an excellent way to see a city. You see more from the top deck and get all the information about the city so you can then decide which sights you want to go back to. We did 2 full circuits so used it as a way to get around as well. The lady driver was very steady and made the trip a pleasant experience.

Do not recommend this at all, old buses and not a friendly driver

Route included items of little interest to tourists - e.g. railway station and immediate environment there were also quite a number of stops which took a long time - presumably because of pick-ups. Is there a way of speeding this up e.g. better cash/money handling by the driver?. Sound equipment was poor - buttons for volume control did not work well and earplugs were very uncomfortable!

It is mandatory for the dog to carry its leash and all its documentation, especially the one that accredits it as such, as it may be required by the BILBAO CITY VIEW staff at the time of accessing the bus.

• Face-to-face assistance at the Customer Service Office (OAC) , which is an accessible facility. It has a magnetic induction loop to facilitate communication with people with hearing disabilities. Address: Licenciado Poza 8. 48008 Bilbao. Hours: Monday to Friday: 7: 30-20: 00. Saturdays: 9: 00-20: 00. Sundays and holidays: 9: 00-14: 00.
• Accessible Map’s Voice information and guide system , with information on schedules, rates, routes, monuments, etc. Access available in OAC and vehicles.
• Braille maps with itinerary available in OAC and vehicles.
• Video-interpretation service in Spanish sign language to facilitate that deaf or hearing-impaired people have the same access to information as the rest of our users. You can access it through the Bilbao City Tour website.
• Use of convenience access doors. People with reduced mobility can use the exit door to enter the bus and inside they will use the place reserved for them. In addition, when necessary, people with reduced mobility will be able to exit through the entrance door.
• Approach to the stop. The driver will bring the bus as close as possible to the stop to facilitate getting on and off.
• Priority in boarding and disembarking. People in a wheelchair or scooter have priority to get on the bus. At disembarkation, people with reduced mobility will first get off and then the rest of the people at the stop will get on.
• Free for companions of people with reduced mobility. Blind people and those accompanying people with reduced mobility who travel by wheelchair or scooter may travel free of charge.
